࣪ ִֶָ𖦹。Honestly once you explain to Viktor about age regressing.. he would think to himself "oh, that's what it's called.."

࣪ ִֶָ𖦹。Viktor had a habit of accidentally regressing when his chronic pains would flare up. He just didn't know what it was or called. He kind of thought of it as him "being dramatic".

࣪ ִֶָ𖦹。He loves to chew on things. Oh that's made out of rubber? Going into my mouth. A few of his shirts have holes in it due to him chewing on it. Even chewed up his fingers once or twice. Once you got him a pacifier.. it was like heaven to him.

࣪ ִֶָ𖦹。The only way to get him to sleep is a warm cup of sweet milk and his paci. He's always so fussy when it's nap time, whining and complaining how he needs to finish one more thing then he'll sleep. We all know that's a lie. But once you pop that paci in his mouth, he's out like a light.

࣪ ִֶָ𖦹。Knee pads. All the way. When he started to get used to regressing on his own without his flare ups triggering it, he had a tendency to crawl around due to him feeling unstable to walk. Knee pads were a lifesaver on his joints, even tho he still experiences pain it does help tone it down.

࣪ ִֶָ𖦹。He's so needy, wanting to hold your hand, sleeve, pants leg, anything. He constantly wants to be around you. Always standing a few inches behind you. Curling up next to you like a kitten.

࣪ ִֶָ𖦹。Viktor usually goes nonverbal, making hums or small "eh..." Looking up at you with his amber eyes, trying to tell you what he wants. His facial expressions have become more dramatic when he regresses because of it.

࣪ ִֶָ𖦹。The poor boy is rather picky when it comes to food but he's too shy to express it. So after every meal he ends up so grumpy but yet so very sleepy. Viktor prefers soild foods, something he can eat with his hands. Fruits, soft warm baked goods, cheese, crackers, and warm milk is his favorite. No jams. He hates the texture of it. He prefers jellies.

So it's been almost a year I joined -officially- the YoI fandom and just this morning I was beyond surprised I hit a milestone on AO3 over the weekend, so right now it's a little bit more than the square number. This has been such a wild, exciting and fun ride being part of the community but also having the honor of reading other amazing authors in the YoI fandom. And on a more personal note: This has been a lifeline for me. This year, I suffered two losses quite suddenly and when everything around me was shattering and life demanded me to be the rock of my loved ones. Returning to writing and drawing, being creative, Yuri!!! On Ice and some amazing people in the fandom (which some of them now I have the luck of now calling friends) was what kept me sane through depression, grief and a world that keeps spinning and doesn't wait for pain to be over.

To celebrate, I wanted to make some -quick, not detailed and made in between meetings- art with one of my headcanons for a slightly younger/early 20's/ Viktor:

• In the off-season (at least at some point just when he first cut his hair to make a transformation to wow the audience) Viktor often let his hair grow for some months. And so he would start to look more flowy. I kind of seeing him taking on this look after he retires because OF COURSE he won't get bald, and OF COURSE he would want to remind himself about his very flowy, very incredible hair every morning.

possible prince au thoughts

this is gonna be a jumble of things that are just flooding my mind about this.

he will go strictly by Vitya in this verse with the taken last name of Slavík which , essentially , means nightingale.

became prince because the king needed an heir but could not sire one, adopts him at a very young age from a couple who could not essentially afford to bring him up. they were paid handsomely and given positions within the kingdom as servants over sending them back to the 'streets'. that way they can have social interaction with the child without imposing a 'parenthood' upon him. essentially , the parents knew the king on a personal front due to being the faces of the people , so the king trusted the parents and offered this to them without thinking about the gender of the child.

vitya was born female. the king needed a son. so , he was brought up as male and even when reaching a suitable age was given a rather crude version of top surgery that vitya was completely for in secret. due to this , vitya is not comfortable at all being seen without clothes. on top off this , vitya does have Rickets which primary affects his right leg and spine. vitya is near always seen with a cane and fashioned brace.

the kingdom is rather calm and collected. they are all about taking care of their people and its surrounding lands. due to this , the Slavík land is considered passive when it comes to any toils that happen around them. they are , overall , a place of peace. due to this , they are often seen as a place that is looked to be overtaken at some point. with the land being a main port for goods to be transferred through due to the open environment and passiveness presented, welcoming any and all that do present themselves as a threat to the community.

the queen was seen as the face for the people and of the community , who ends up passing within vityas tween years and putting him as the face of such. the king chose not to take another queen. due to this , vitya is heavily engrained into every prospect that affects the kingdoms people and is seen as the advisory of such. he is , afterall , always for the betterment of its people and how to make things flourish and grow without imposing restrictions that could harm them or the kingdom.

in comparison to what we have for viktor , vitya is rather confident and comfortable in political settings with a certain suaveness in how he handles things that is not fully explored or seen when it comes to canon content , as we all know that viktor was not one to really incorporate himself into such types of conversation outside of speaking with jayce about it.

when it comes to a high fantasy stylization ( which , depending on plotting this will come into hand ) magic is rather unexplored within the Slavik kingdom and looked upon with wander but not with an explorative nature of such. vitya is very interested in the mechanism side of it , to incorporate it into an every day lifestyle as a means to keep their kingdom and its people safe. this pertains to the raw form as well as the welcoming nature they already have in place for those who are of otherly beings. it is , overall , a slow process of acceptance that vitya is working on.

I will turn this into a ficlet at some point, but I just wanted to share with y'all guys that versions of Renard and Belle that live in my head use following nicknames for each other:

Renard calls Belle different endearments in French, like "mon petit trésor" or "ma petite fleur", for a number of reasons, main reasons are: Belle deserves only the most beautiful things, to suit her, and those are the most beautiful names he can think of; French endearments often include "petit" in it, so when she annoys him, he likes to remind her of her height in the most romantic and yet teasing way possible

Belle calls him Vitya and, on especially rare occasions, Viten'ka (which are the Russian diminutives for Victor)

Both of them also use standard English endearments, Belle much more often than Victor. She's all "darling that", "honey this", while Victor mostly resorts to French or "sweetheart".

Aftercare Headcanons

Character included: Viktor x GN!Reader

Author's notes: Let me know if you want me to write something similar about other League of Legends or Arcane characters. Enjoy! ♡

He's the kind of guy who cares about your well-being before, during, and after you have sex.

It's not uncommon for him to stay with your body cuddled against his while your heavy breathing and overstimulation slowly fade away.

Cuddles, words of reassurance, slow and affectionate kisses, massages wherever you may be sore and a relaxing bath together after sex are essential for him to show you how absurdly perfect and important you are to him.

One of the greatest proofs of love that Viktor can show you is to sleep next to you (always after you, due to his protective instinct) and stay by your side all night, making sure to still be with you when you wake up, even if he has countless responsibilities and unfinished projects.

"Good morning, sleepyhead."

"Good morning, Vitya." His fingers stroked your hair as you wiped the sleep from your eyes.

"Thank you for yesterday. You were absolutely perfect." A certain embarrassment took over you at the compliment, making you hide your face against his neck, inhaling that welcoming scent.

"Maybe I'll have to drag you out of your lab more often." You murmured.

New story idea: Teenage Yuuri

Writing on one project frequently results in ideas for side projects when the characters' backstory develops.

This particular idea has been brewing in me for quite a while now, but gained momentum now that I'm writing on my post-canon story In Love and War again.

I'm going to write a story about teenage Yuuri.

There's so much to unpack here which the anime only shows in short flashbacks or hides in subtext. Some of these key aspects I've discussed extensively in my metas and hinted at in my novelisation, but this story will become more like an in-depth study of young Yuuri, including:

how his obsession with Viktor shaped his path as a skater

friendship

growing up as a queer kid in a rather heteronormative environment (Kyushu is rather rural, hence less diversity)

being bullied for his obsession with Viktor as well as for being a little bit chubby (I will approach that subject sensitively)

early signs of his aceness and how that sets him apart from other Viktor fans like Yuuko or Minako (Yuuri is ace-coded, I wrote several long-ass analyses about that, see my metas, and I will make use of the split attraction model)

his likeliest reasons for leaving Hasetsu and training abroad

My teenage Yuuri project will be part of my "A dream too large to bear alone"-universe, which means that every take I use will be directly supported by canon and be backed by the source material or be a logical extention thereof as far as that's possible based on the little backstory the anime provides and the personality of adult Yuuri. Unlike Vitya's backstory (which I don't want it to be associated with the movie), I'm really looking forward to posting this story once it's done. I don't think such a story already exists and it probably won't attract a lot of readers due to the lack of popular headcanons, which I believe is even more reason to write it.

(This is definitely going to be a shorter project (50k), planned for the first half of 2025.)

-Naturally, the first time Yuuri stepped into a sex shop was with Viktor, who insisted on checking it out as soon as he spotted it (and Yuuri just can't say no to Vitya's pleading eyes). He spent the first few minutes wishing he had brought his face mask and hat while Viktor walked around looking at everything like an overexcited puppy ("Oh my god Yuuri, I didn't know there were so many different flavors of condoms and lube!") until a particular bondage set caught his attention. I consider him to be a representation of Eastern Europe, which includes many countries. To exclude us from this, to forbid us to call him “Vitya” or to use Russian words in headcanons simply because “actor said he imitated a bad Czech accent wich means character is Czech”, is disgusting.

Viktor's (post-canon) turmoil around Yuuri's retirement

I've often thought about how Viktor might handle the realities around Yuuri's eventual retirement from competition, both from a coach standpoint, as well as a partner standpoint.

I'd imagine that his idealized version could be summed up by the following thoughts:

1) "Wow! My darling Yuuri (and beloved husband) has so much to be proud of!"

2) *Runs through an internal list of Yuuri's many accomplishments, including his gold medal win at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Games, which will probably be followed by another gold medal at the 2022 Beijing Games*

3) "He's come so far, by way of his own tenacity and hard work, as well as the strength he derives from the relationship we have on and off the ice. I feel so privileged to support him as we navigate this next chapter of our lives."

4) "I can't wait to partner with Phichit to co-plan a retirement party that is perfectly fitting with his tastes (i.e. as much as I'd really like to invite the entire country of Japan to attend, as well as hold a week-long parade in Hasetsu marked by 20 feet tall floats of Yuuri in every single one of his Free Skate program costumes over the years, I'll exercise restraint)"

But the reality?

I honestly think Viktor would be a mess, and there's a good chance that such a big change in their lives would trigger his own insecurities.

I have some pretty bleak headcanons around Viktor's past, and believe he probably has some form of complex PTSD from childhood emotional neglect/trauma. Perhaps he was able to blunt a lot of this pain through avoidance (i.e. immersing himself totally and completely into the impossibly high demands of an elite figure skating career), but he's likely had to work on healing by way of being in a serious, long-term relationship with Yuuri.

But no matter how much healing we've done, trauma can manifest in surprising and disconcerting ways.

In thinking about the end of his tenure as Yuuri's coach, it could very well be that Viktor starts to panic. When he's no longer in such a role, will he still be 'useful' to Yuuri?

Will he still be able to hold his husband's interest? What will happen if Yuuri suddenly finds him boring when their lives don't involve the high-pace rigor of competition and training anymore? Could he forget how to "surprise" him?

Thinking about this transitional period in their lives motivated me to write a 55K Viktor POV story set during the summer before Yuuri's impending retirement (right after the 2022 Beijing Olympic Games). While it has a somewhat crack-y premise (i.e. Viktor convinces Yuuri to become his pole-dancing "coach"), you'll find that this story contains some major feels as it pertains to Viktor trusting Yuuri with his insecurities.

It's part of my larger 2018/2022 Olympic Games fic series, but I think it can still be enjoyed even without having read the other parts of the series (and in the beginning author's note, I relay some important context that'll help folks if they haven't read the main fic).

Below is an excerpt from Chapter 2, when in attempting to inform their friends that Yuuri will become his pole-dancing coach, Yuuri's drunkenness leads everyone to misunderstand, thinking that 1) he's planning on becoming Viktor's skating coach and 2) that Viktor is "unretiring", lol.

Note of context & content warning: 1) Yuuri and Viktor now live in Fukuoka, Japan, and Viktor coaches both Yuuri and Yurio (Yura) at the same rink as Minami Kenjirou and 2) this excerpt contains mentions of alcohol consumption

Yuuri was now blinking at Ryuichi, looking puzzled. Without warning, he slapped his hand down on the table, making a good number of them jump.

“I’m gonna be Vitya’s coach!” he crowed, his eyes growing huge and sparkly.

Instantly, Viktor was reminded of that life-changing Sochi banquet night when the love of his life had humped his thigh while begging for him to come to Hasetsu.

Pffffftttttt!

A spray of sake just narrowly missed Yuuri, but, unfortunately, Niko and Kenjirou weren’t able to escape Yura’s spewing.

Sharp yelps and choice swears overlapped, and a few seconds of confusion ensued, during which time nobody seemed to know where to direct their attention.

“Viktor-sensei, you’re coming back to competition?” Izumi shrieked in his direction, while patting at Niko’s face with some napkins. (Actually, she was missing completely and patting her shoulder instead, as she didn’t seem to be able to take her eyes off of him).

“What the fuck, geezer, don’t tell me you’ve finally lost it?!” Yurio spluttered next, staring daggers at him.

He seemed largely unbothered by the fact that Kenjirou was using the sleeve of his t-shirt to wipe his face.

“You’re like a million years old, there’s no way you can do this,” his student continued, heatedly. “But more importantly: LIKE HELL YOU WILL, YOU’RE MY FUCKING COACH NOW. There’ll be none of this double-duty nonsense that you tried to pull four years ago!”

“Oooh, I hadn’t given much thought to competitions yet,” Yuuri then interjected, with a blissful, silly grin, while Ryuichi gaped at him.

He looked a bit horrified, as if Yuuri had suddenly announced that he found katsudon repulsive.

Viktor let his heart-shaped smile take over his face, thoroughly enjoying their friends’ shocked reactions to his husband’s drunken miscommunication. It wasn’t as if he was reluctant for them to find out that the ‘coaching’ Yuuri had mentioned was in reference to pole-dancing, and not figure skating. After all, his spouse’s local popularity as a pole instructor was hardly a secret, and Viktor knew for a fact that if they had more time in their schedules, both Izumi and Wakaba would be interested in taking some classes. Rather, it was simply more fun to see what the reactions to his “unretiring” were.

He half-expected Yura to FaceTime Yakov somewhere in the next twenty seconds, begging their former coach to rage at him until he saw sense.

“Yuuri-senpai, you know I think the absolute world of you,” Kenjirou began, still patting his face while gesturing emphatically in his idol’s direction. “But isn’t this a bad idea? Are you really sure you want to coach Viktor-sensei? You’re not even retired yet!”

Yuuri’s vacant, silly grin disappeared, and he appeared to give up on trying to fish out the lemon slice from his shochu cocktail.

The glint of determination that Viktor so adored began to dance fiercely in his dark eyes, and Kenjirou gulped, looking appropriately intimidated.

At this accusation, Kenjirou’s eyes widened, but before he could correct this assumption, Yuuri went on, locking eyes not only with Kenjirou, but with each of their friends, who were staring at him, looking wary. Even the ever-stoic Otabek looked a bit unnerved.

After all those years of not having references, it's finally here... Let me present to you:

Fanon Skyvik timeline + bunch of my personal headcanons for their relationships!

Before diving deeper: This timeline isn’t very well thought out and mostly based on headcanons, so there can and likely is huge divergence from the canonical timeline!

Pre-teen years

Viktor’s parents preferred him to play on the highest levels of Zaun so he wouldn't breathe Antresole's toxins. That's how he met Sky.

Nothing special happened in this period of time. Just two kids messing around, dreaming of becoming the greatest scientists of all Runeterra. 

Their senior-assistant dynamic was firstly established, but not quite reinforced.

From early years Sky became protective over her friend. Viktor was (and reminds) not very happy about it, but in the harshness of Undercity protection was necessary.

Early puberty

Oh boy here we go, first romantic shenanigans. 

It was time when Sky understood that she likes her friend not only as friend. It wasn't a serious romantic interest, more like “Omg he’s so cute”.

BUT BACK THERE IT WASN’T ONE SIDED!

Anyway, because of Sky’s shyness and Viktor’s fear to ruin their friendship, they never confessed their feelings to each other. 

It was time when they both slowly, but steadily came to realize they’re not only into the opposite gender.

Teens

The most bitter-sweet moment in the timeline. 

On one hand, those years were a peak for their friendship: both kinda lost their romantic interest, kept being supportive pals to each other and started to try to date someone.

Viktor even came up with the idea to set up their workshop so they can start to make money. So they did and it was a success.

On other hand: shit started to go down between Zaun and Piltover and also with their parents' health. 

Even though they never wanted to leave their hometown, Viktor started to think if he could be more useful if somehow he gets into Academia, but for the time it was impossible due to ban of zaunits (it’s a pure hc).

Bridge rebellion & Aftermath 

Suppression of Bridge’s rebellion was so horrifying, that the Council decided to lift zaunit’s ban in order to soften the edges. At the same time, due to the failure of the rebellion, inner conflicts started (hc: which led to a split between Silco and Vander). 

But not only this: Viktor’s parents died due to smoke poisoning and Sky mother’s health began to worsen drastically. 

Under the influence of despair from the failure of the uprising, the death of his parents and, in principle, the hopeless situation in Zaun, Vitya dares to leave the city and take advantage of the opportunity to enter the Academy.

During all of that stuff, both try to hold together their friendship and support each other, but despair ends up winning over Viktor.

Some time apart

Both are going through some shit: Sky - though struggles with life, Viktor - though nationalist intolerance and general struggles with adapting to Piltover.

Sky’s mom didn’t make it. 

After 1-2 hard work in the Academy, Viktor proved himself as worthy for the dean assistant position, and, thanks to that, was able to help Sky get to the Academy too. 

Act I

Even after reunion, relationships between those two never would be the same as it was in Zaun. But it would be more apparent in Act II.

At the same time, Sky’s romantic interest reincarnates, but this time it’s more mature and serious.

It was a time when Sky met Jayce! 

Funny thingy: due to gap in age and education, Viktor became thesis supervisor of Sky (I’m sure it’s not one of the reasons why they never got so close again).

Act II
