Thinking about one of Nopes's most harmless retcons -

Indech forging the sacred weapons instead of Macuil is a retcon because in Claude's FE16 paralogue, per the "official biography made by the church", Macuil was the one who was skilled with his hands and became a blacksmith, and forged weapons for Seiros's army (the jp version has "セイロスの戦いに貢献したんだそうな" so it's less he made weapons for Rhea's army, but it was his way to contribute to the fight in general? Like Birdie making weapons for those dumb humans fighting with them?)

But then comes Nopes and Indech is the blacksmith - who got his forge and was admired by his totes not niece.

So why was this retconned?

To make FE16!Claude look like a clown because even if he researches stuff on his own, he can't get things right, or to make the Church sus, because they lie (they BaD) about which lizard had the role of the smith?

Given how Seteth, when Barney replies Macuil, goes "ah yeah people believe it was him but it was actually Indech the two worked together" this wasn't something that happened because no one gaf about FE16's plot like Leopold's Major Cichol Loincloth, but it was done on purpose.

Idk, maybe Rhea thought if she told the truth to people they would bother Indech to ask him to craft more weapons and he would either "have fun meddling" with them and accidently kill them, or she wanted to piss Macuil thus put his name in the records, so maybe when he was still around, some humans would ask him to forge weapons and since he doesn't like to be around humans he would be pissed?

Oh well, given how Nopes!Claude ended up, I think Nopes in general took a deliberate turn against it -

Linhardt understood who Turtle was, but Claude doesn't make the link between Birdie and Macuil, which is kind of a letdown when we consider his route is the only one where the truth about Nabateans is revealed, but that would have implied giving more than half figs about them and we can't have that

ゴネリル公よりレスター各地に援軍要請を 出したが、集まった兵はそう多くない。 このところ大きな戦争がなかったからな。諸侯も軍備を怠っていたのだろう。 それでも帝国や王国が兵を出してくれれば問題はないはずだったのだが...・・・・・ どうやらそれも望めぬらしい。 これは厳しい戦いになりそうだぞ。

Student

私はミュラー子爵家の縁者でね。実家は首飾りからそう遠くないんだ。 ・・・・・・そんな貴族いたっけ、って顔だな? どうせ五大諸侯くらいしか知らないんだろ。 ミュラー家はリーガン領とエドマンド領に 挟まれた、吹けば飛ぶような小貴族さ。 だが、レスターを守りたいという思いは、 五大諸侯にだって負けないつもりだよ。

Hope you are ready for a japanese lession because I am 𝙨𝙤 glad you made a note of Edelgards line where she says she wants to obliterate Rhea even just in passing because belive it or not, that line is way worse in the original script;セイロス教団を使ってフォドラを支配する レアたちを、抹殺することだった。 The translation team went with "I seek to obliterate her, as well as those around her who use the church's power to control Fodlan.", making it sound like Edelgard would stand against anyone who would abuse 1/3

the power of the church - however, there is a 𝙗𝙞𝙜 problem with this translation. In japanese Edelgard attatches the suffix -たち (tachi) to the end of Rheas name, -たち meaning "something that is like something else". The translation team went with "those around her", but in the line directly before this one Edelgard specifically equates the term "Rhea-tachi" with the term used in japanese to refer to the Children of the Goddess (女神の眷属 - "the Goddess' family"). There is also no mention 2/3

of the "church's power" in the original script whatsoever. What Edelgard is saying in japanese is "I seek to obliterate Rhea and the other Children of the Goddess that has been controlling Fodlan through the Church of Seiros". Its a shame this line was so muddled in translation because people still argue that Edelgard has nothing against the Nabatean race as a whole and that she only declares war on the church because Rhea is, quote, "abusing her power", end quote. 3/3

I'm always down for juicy translation errors.

"Tachi" is actually one of the few Japanese things I'm aware of (because in anime, I'd hear a character's name, but the subtitles would never include the name and have something like "everyone" instead. So my sister ended up explaining it).

Do we know if Rhea-tachi means Nabateans or the Church of Serios?

That said, I don't know how you can play this game and not get uncomfy with how Edelgard talks about the Nabateans. She's always dehumanizing them, and I've seen that line where she fights Flayn in VW, which is pretty clearly prejudice against Natabeans.

On the topic of Edelgards prejudice/racism, Im not sure if anyone has brought this up but in the JP script its clear Edelgards problems with the Church stems from the fact that its run by Nabateans (well, just Rhea, but in Edelgards head all Nabateans are in on it). Its especially clear with this one line: セイロス教団を使ってフォドラを支配する レアたちを、抹殺することだった。 - Seirosu kyōdan o tsukatte fodora o shihai suru Rea-tachi o, massatsu suru kotodatta, which was translated as (1/2)

i understand why treehouses changed this since it’s pretty problematic to have an imperialistic person spew this kind of rhetoric of a race controlling people w religion. it has some pretty nasty irl parallels… still annoying since it makes meta harder though

In Japanese that would be:

エーデルガルト: 私の目的は、レアたち女神の眷属の 支配からの脱却だった。セイロス教団を使ってフォドラを支配する レアたちを、抹殺することだった。▼ 私は貴方を敵に回してでも、レアを討ち、 人々を解放するのだと誓ったのに…… 

Note: the first part of this line is apparently dependant on Byleth choosing “5 years ago?” in the previous dialogue split.

Edelgard: My goal has been to free us from the control of Rhea and the other children of the goddess. To obliterate them for using the church of Seiros to control Fodlán. Even if it meant becoming your enemy, I swore to strike down Rhea and free the people, yet.... [...] 

Thing to note here is that in the second sentence, I think Edelgard is still talking about Rhea and the Children of the Goddess (as in Nabateans) instead of a more general “those around her”. The reason I think that is in the previous sentence the term  “ レアたち女神の眷属 “ is used.  たち (tachi) is appended to a name to denote a group including the person whose name you mentioned. 

Now it specifies the “tachi” as being  “ 女神の眷属 “ (megami no kenzoku) i.e. the Children of the Goddess, which is a term for the Nabateans in particular (though interesting to note “kenzoku” means more like.. member of someones’ house or household, which also includes things like retainers or other subordinates, not just family). Now the next sentence has her using just “Rhea-tachi”, but I think it’s reasonable to say that she used the previous sentence to establish just who she means by this group that includes Rhea. I mean, it definitely establishes that she thinks it’s Rhea and the Nabateans who control Fodlán, so..

Basically, you could say that she is saying she wants to obliterate Rhea and the Nabateans, which the English translation made more vague.

春祭りフェリクス

FEHの春祭りナーシェンの衣装かわいいなーってフェリクスに笑顔で着せたのは無理がありすぎて罰ゲームでした。ごめん（笑） 新しい塗り方試してみたんだけど、見事敗北。いまだになかなかこれってものを掴めないでいます。 ニンドリの開発スタッフインタビュー濃密な内容で楽しかったです。クロードやっぱり偽名だったのかぁ。なんとなく想像していた家庭環境と差異はなかったので、より確信した感じでした。別に偽名でも彼が築いたものは今更崩れないし仲間もわかってるだろうし、パルミラ王の名はクロードの可能性も高い。そして私、銀英伝の最推しはヤンなので思う壺です（笑） ずっと抱いていた疑問が晴れたのは、レアさまとセイロス教とフォドラの歴史の件。レアさまと会話がかみ合わなかったのはソティスの姿の認識が決定的に違うからだったのか。それはかみ合わないはずだ。 そしてレアさまに益々幼女性を感じたというか、純粋なんですよね。決して人間に悪意を持っているわけではなく（アガルタの民に対してなんともいえないけど）、ひたすらお母さま（創造主）と仲間に対して純粋。それだから余計にタチが悪い面もあるけど、風花のキャラはみんな長短の二面性を強調していておもしろいと改めて思います。 紅花のEDでフレスベルクの少女の歌がないことから、エーデルちゃんを敵役として作ってるんだなってのは感じていたけど、覇道をゆく紅花ルートは隠し要素（ボーナスステージ？）が強かったというのにびっくりしました。どうせなら全ルートやってから解禁くらい強めでもよかったかも。その方が彼女への感情移入もしやすかったかもなぁ……と。（ユーザーが全ルートプレイするとは思っていなかったようなので、それは無理なんですけど） 私は割と（自分が思う）諸悪の根元を倒したいと思うことが多いので、彼女に感情移入はしやすいです。もちろんより民間の犠牲が少なくなるよう配慮していたクロードの策に同調していたし、王国キャラの話をふだんかいているので、より穏便な方法を取りたいと思う。（それとこれはまた別な話で長くなるから割愛） 結局どのルートが最終的に犠牲者数が少なかったのかよくわからないのが本音。紅花はプレイアブルキャラと敵対が多かったから犠牲者過多に思えるけど、4月で終わっているし、その後の復興具合とか、本当によくわからない…… あと三国志的要素は三つの国ってことで中国のそれではなかった（笑）。私は歴史物の引き出しが春秋戦国しかないからこれからもそれで例えるけど、その要素なかったのかー。まぁどの国の歴史も人間がやることは似ているということか。 こんな風にいまだに色々考えれるのは本当に楽しい。いい作品を作ってくれて感謝。同じスタッフで続（類）編でも新作でももう一作やってみたいなぁ。コエテクさんほんとうに信頼できるので、無双2も期待してます。級長は確定だろうし剣以外のキャラ増やせて一石二鳥！（笑）

Felix: I thought I could repay the boar just a little by defeating the Empire, but...

I don’t know if it’s some mysterious organization or what, but there seems to have been a group operating in the shadows of the Empire.

re: rhea+dima in CF, she does react to him going down if he's taken out first! she just mostly channels it into battle fury (ディミトリ王が……！セイロス騎士団よ、撤退はありません！一人でも多くの敵を屠り、地獄へ送ってやりなさい！) because there's no real time for gloom when she's in the middle of countering an imperial invasion (+ she's pretty unstable by that point). i'd love to see them expand more on these two in that route too, but that seems like something they'd have to cover in supplementary materials if they ever do at all. orz

I'm damn curious about those in-between years.

風花雪月のすゝめ

この記事は本来お盆の帰省中の出来事をまとめる予定でしたが、いざ実家に帰省してみると祖父母がパチ屋でもらってきた細菌兵器をマスクもせずに家中にまき散らしており、（あろうことか！）まんまと夏風邪うつされ、最高8度6分でうなされてたので、何もできませんでした。

風邪になる前日の外食は美味しかったです。

風花雪月

なので7月26日にNintendoSwitchで発売したファイアーエムブレム風花雪月の紹介をし��す。大丈夫俺はゲームには三等親族内では一番詳しいんだ。

ファイアーエムブレム

ファイアーエムブレムと言えば有名なので、特にいうことはないですよね！！！！！

皆さんご存知の一人で10体くらい倒せばいけるゲームです。

ちなみにストラテジーゲームはサモンナイトとヴァルキリープロファイルしかやったことがないし、ファイアーエムブレムについては誤字指摘してくるめんどくさい人たちがいることとスマブラの大天空ゴリラしか知りませんでした。

最近のファイヤーエンブレムは時代に合わせた良心的な設計でユニットが倒されても撤退するだけでロストすることがないモードが用意されてるのでストラテジーゲームが苦手な僕でも安心です。

一周目はイージ＆カジュアルがおすすめです。

あらすじ

主人公である「あなた」はかつて歴代最強の騎士団長、「壊刃」と呼ばれていた父・ジェラルトが率いる傭兵団に身を置いていた。

頭の中で少女の声が聞こえ始め、ある日、身を置いていた村に士官学校の生徒が盗賊に追われてやってきて、それを撃退します。

生徒の救助にやってきたセイロス教の騎士団に父の知り合いが居てガルグ＝マク修道院に行くことになり、そこでセイロス教の最高指導者である大司教レアに資質を買われ、士官学校の先生になり生徒たちを導いていくことに…

主人公

主人公のキャラメイクなどはない代わりに男主人公か女主人公かを選べます。

会話では自我を持って喋らず、選択肢で交流してますが声優も男女ともについていて攻撃時やレベルや技能が上昇した際のボイスありますあります。

デフォルトネームは男が「ベレト」、女が「ベレス」です。Pixivで探すときにべんり（べんり）。

ベレト

自分は一周目はベレト、二周目はベレスにしたのですがどちらもおすすめです。男主人公のベレトの場合は進むべき道への指揮をとる指導者というような印象を強く受けました。

ベレス

一方で、 女主人公のベレスの場合はどこまでいっても「みんなの先生」といった印象を受けました。あと、真顔で感情豊かなのはどちらも同じなんですが、ギャグみは男主人公の方が強かったです。

あとかわいい。

タイツ

あと何故が女主人公はへそ出しな上に無駄にえろいタイツ履いてるのがいいですね。

そのタイツで感情に乏しいお父さんといっしょに傭兵は無理があるでしょ。

性別で大筋のストーリーは変わらないんですが細かいところでは、

とある女生徒が探し物をしている会話で男主人公が話しかけた場合には「水色の布を探している」と言われ、「同僚の女先生に話しておく」といった選択肢を選ぶと好感度が上がります。

一方で、女主人公で話しかけた場合は「水色の肌着を探している」と言われ、「一緒に探す」選択をすると好感度が上がります。

凝ってる。

ちなみに肌着の行方は同学級の男子生徒が鍛錬後の汗拭きに使った以降のことは分かりません。

舞台

今作の舞台となるのはフォドラと呼ばれる四国と本州四国連絡橋を肉付けしたみたいな形の大陸で

高知県と愛媛県の県南にアドラステア帝国

香川県と愛媛県の県北にファーガス神聖王国、

徳島県にレスター諸侯同盟の3つの国、勢力があります

それぞれの国の簡単な説明をすると

アドラステア帝国：一番昔からある、皇帝は有力貴族に権限を奪われてほぼ傀儡 ファーガス神聖王国：4年前に国王が暗殺される。国内は盗賊まみれ、人種差別もする。 レスター諸侯同盟：王のいない貴族の共同体、同盟内で潰しあい。

お前ら三大国家めちゃくちゃじゃねえか。

ガルグ＝マク大修道院

この地では女神を信仰する「セイロス教」が多くの信仰を集めていて3つの国の中央にその総本山であるガルグ＝マク大修道院が位置していて、主人公はその修道院に併設されている士官学校で働きます。

士官学校

士官学校にはフォドラの未来を担う生徒たちが通っており、3つの学級に分かれています。雑把に説明すると

黒鷹の学級（アドラークラッセ） 

-アドラステア帝国出身者の学級で帝国の次期皇帝である「エーデルガルト」が級長。他のキャラクターも貴族が多くて、平民出身の生徒は肌着の子の一人だけ。

ちなみにエーデルガルトちゃん、巷ではエガちゃんとか略して呼ばれていたりする。

まだこのルートやってないのであんまりしらない。

青獅子の学級（ルーヴェンクラッセ）

-ファーガス神聖王国出身者の学級で王国の王子、「ディミトリ」が級長。

このディミトリ君ですが4年前に目の前で父を暗殺、親友を殺されてるので基本的に復讐心を抱えて生きてます。

僕は2周目で選びました。

この子いい顔するのでとても好きです。

学級には生徒には槍を得意とするキャラが多いです、騎士の国だからね。（安直）

4年前に許嫁が死んだ生徒や4年前に兄貴が死んで、5年後に父親が死ぬ生徒がいます。

金鹿の学級（ヒルシュクラッセ）

ｰレスター諸侯同盟出身者の学級で級長は同盟の盟主である家の嫡子の「クロード」が務める。人たらしで策士キャラ。他のルートでもまず死なないのずるくない？？？

一人称がオデの筋肉だるまやお姫様カットみたいなパッツン前髪の男子生徒だったりちょっとが色物が学級に多い多い、商人の子供が多いイメージ。

1周目に選びました。だってリシテアちゃんが可愛いんですよ。

この学級の選択によって物語のルートが変わってきます、なので最低でも三周は周回しようね！！！大丈夫、周回支援で一部を引き継いだりできるから！自分のクリアデータ見たら大体42時間くらいで一つのルートがクリアできます。

ルートはたぶん帝国ルートが一番王道なんじゃないでしょうか。僕は他の二つのルートしかまだやれてないので分からないですけど。

級長とその側付きの臣下以外の生徒はスカウトシステムで引き抜きができるので初めは適当に選んじゃっていいです。というか一部の士官学校編で引き抜いておかないと二部の戦争編で殺すはめになるので推しを殺す性癖がある人以外はスカウトをお勧めします。

あとスカウトして引き抜いた生徒を戦争編で敵対した元同じ学級だった生徒と戦わせると特殊掛け合いが起こります。文章量やばい。やばい。

結婚システム

結婚システムありますあります。物語の最後で添い遂げたい生徒を選択するとそれぞれのキャラ専用イベントとCGを見ることができます。

またLGBTに配慮されているため、男主人公の場合、女キャラクター+騎士団のおっさんA+騎士団のおっさんB+ダウナー系男子生徒と結婚できますし、女主人公の場合男キャラクター+エガちゃん+肌着の子+ノンケ殺しのレズ+大司教様が結婚の対象になっているため同性婚もできますできます。

でも正直このゲーム、ベレスが一番可愛い、このシーンすごい好き、可愛い。

ごめんなさい、FGOの 無駄に長引かせられた 夏イベントの宝具レベル上げがまだ終わってないので記事を無理やり終わらせます。

追記

FGOのイベントは無事終わりました。もう半年は走らなくていいかなって気分ですね、もっと丁寧な記事に直そうかと思いましたがアストラルチェインで忙しいので＃今度にしましょう。トイレが全然見つからない。

I got an ask wondering if the rumors that Dorothea had gotten a “Soleil treatment” were true.

After translating a couple of her supports, I came to realize that Dorothea’s best proof of her sexuality are in her endings, since the A/A+ supports in this game took a page from the pre-FE13 supports and it’s not often clear if two characters end up together in a romantic sense, until you see their ending.

So read on to see how her endings were in the Japanese! Are her endings the same in both languages? Was her sexuality altered in any way in the localization?

Almost immediately after the modest wedding ceremony between Byleth and Dorothea was over, the battle against those who slither in the dark began in earnest. Dorothea chose not to take the field of battle with a weapon but rather to tend the household in her spouse's absence and provide emotional support to his effort to bring lasting peace to Fodlan. Many years after the war had ended, Dorothea's diary was uncovered, revealing the full extent of the happy life the couple shared. The love poems that they wrote to one another were published as a collection.

Azure Moon

新生アドラステア帝国の皇帝エーデルガルトの本格的な知性の到来と共に、アンヴァルにある歌劇場で、一つの歌劇が幕を開けた。(As the reborn Adestrian Empire’s Emperor Edelgard’s true reign finally began, at a certain opera house in Enbaar, a single opera opened its curtains.)

皇帝として生涯をフォドラの統治に捧げるであろう彼女と、彼女を支えた元士官学校の教師や仲間らを描いた熱き戦争劇である。(It was a passionate war drama depicting the girl who hoped to, as emperor, dedicate her entire life to ruling Fodlan; and the teacher and friends who supported her at the former Officers Academy.)

主演はミッテルフランク歌劇団の歌姫に返り咲いたドロテア。(The main role was played by the Mittelfrank Opera Company’s Song Princess, who was making her comeback, Dorothea.)

当初エーデルガルトによって上演禁止が言い渡されたが、周囲の説得でどうにか勅命は撤回された。(At first, Edelgard ordered the performance to be banned, but the persuasions around her managed to convince her to retract this imperial order.)

以降、ドロテアは愛しき皇帝のために熱演し、エーデルガルトは政務の間を縫って劇場に通ったという。(It is said that afterwards, Dorothea performed passionately for her beloved emperor, and Edelgard took time from her governmental affairs to regularly attend the opera.)

Localization:

As Edelgard's reign as the Adrestian emperor began, Enbarr was restored, and with it, a certain opera house. Soon the Mittelfrank Opera Company put together a war drama depicting the journey and sacrifice of the emperor and her companions, and the starring role went to none other than Dorothea. Edelgard initially forbade the company from staging it, but was eventually persuaded by Dorothea's passionate performance to rescind that decree. It is said that the emperor always set aside time to enjoy the opera thereafter.

Dorothea / Hubert

ヒューベルトは皇帝エーデルガルトの懐刀として、帝国のために辣腕を振るった。(As Emperor Edelgard’s confidant, Hubert devoted his acumen to the empire.)

そんな彼は戦後、足繁く通うようになった場所がある。(After the war, there was a place that he frequently went to.)

ドロテアが歌姫として復帰したミッテルフランク歌劇団の上演であった。(Dorothea performed as the Song Princess for the Mittelfrank Opera as it made a comeback.)

歌劇団は、戦災からの復興や慰安のためフォドラの各地で活動し、収益の大半を援助に費やした。(The opera company performed in every region of Fodlan to revive and comfort the war torn continent, and spent the majority of its profits on relief efforts.)

彼らは民に歓迎され、その名声は以前よりも遥かに高まったが、歌劇団がヒューベルトとドロテアの協力により、(They were welcomed by the people, and it’s fame was much greater than ever before, but because of the collaboration between Hubert and Dorothea,)

帝国を裏から支える諜報機関を兼ねていたことが明らかになるのは、遠い未来のことである。(the troupe was also an intelligence agency supporting the empire from the shadows, but this was discovered in the distant future.)

Localization:

After the war, the Mittelfrank Opera Company made a resurgence, in no small part thanks to the patronage of Emperor Edelgard's confidant, Hubert. Dorothea made a comeback as a songstress within the troupe, which traveled all over Fodlan, putting a large share of its profits toward relief efforts. The opera company was warmly welcomed by the war-weary people as a source of solace, and became even more famous than before. It was not discovered until many years later that the troupe's tour had been a covert operation, coordinated by Hubert and Dorothea to gather intelligence for the Empire.

寝苦しいとかじゃありません、ここをどこだと思ってるんですか。旧王国領最北のゴーティエなんですよ。ガルグ＝マクにいた時よりずっとずっと涼しい… というか寒い。でも慣れた寒さです、俺には南より北の方がいい。寝付けないのはそんな気候の話じゃないんですよ、せんせ。

　なあ、どうせこのまま話すなら一杯どうだい。そっちには無い熱っつい酒だが、ミントを入れるとなかなか涼やかになるんですよ。それ飲みながらでも聞いてくれませんか、俺が初夏に寝付けない理由を。

　この大陸の王様になってから、セイロス教と距離とってた先生でも弔いの様子なんてもう見慣れたもんでしょ？ 聖句もちゃんと一通り言えるようになりました？ そっちの南の方ではどうだか知らないが、こっちの北の弔い…土葬できちんと教会で弔った場合の話ですけど。ファーガスの弔いにはひとつ南にない習慣があるんです。

まあファーガスって国が消えちまった今じゃ結構南の文化も入ってきて、最近はそっちの埋葬に合わせてることも多いと聞いてる。でもこっちじゃ普通土葬するとき、棺の内側に小さな鐘を付ける習慣があるんです。外側じゃない、内側に。そうです、死人が鳴らすための鐘です。

　…蘇り？ははは、そんなのネメシスとかいうごついおっさんだけにして欲しいもんですね。蘇りだなんて、そんな夢見がちなもんじゃない。あるんですよ、実際。気絶してただけとかもう一回心臓が動き出しちゃったとか、そんな仮死状態に気付かれずに埋められちまって、そのまま土ん中で改めて死んじまうことがさ。それを防ぐために内側に鐘付けるんです。言ってしまえば呼び鈴ですよね、死人専用の。ほとんど鳴ることはないんですが、これが驚いたことに鳴ったことが無いわけじゃないから付けとく���です。

　小さい頃、ゴーティエ家の霊園で墓守してる爺さんも二、三回聞いたことがあるとか言ってました。鐘のリンリン鳴る音が地面から聞こえて、慌てて掘り返していくとドンドン棺の蓋を叩く音まで聞こえてきて、開けると死んだと思っていた人間が顔面蒼白にして起き上がって

「死ぬかと思った。」

　なーんて言うんですって。笑っちゃいますよね、こっちは死んだもんだと思ってるんだからさ。

　話がずれてる？ずらしちゃいません、これはほんの導入…大司教猊下がご存じないかもしれないフォドラ北部の、生活の前提の話です。話はここからが本題でね。あれは大戦が終わって何年だったかなあ…スレンと何とか話の場を設けるところまで漕ぎ着けた少し後だから、六年ほど前かな。

それまでまともな街道の通っていなかった村にようやく道が敷かれて、その開通の祝いに俺も呼ばれたんです。うちの領だし、鉱山にも通じる見込みのある場所だったってのもあって積極的に支援していたから、一応顔だけでも出そうと思って行きました。祝いの席はそりゃもう無礼講もいいとこで、堅苦しくて格式ばったもんより俺にとっては有難かった。でもあんまりハメを外すのもなんだし、ある程度酒と飯を詰めた後に一人で外に出たんです。酔いもほどほどに醒まして落ち着きたかったんでね。

　良い初夏の夜でした。ほら、冬になるとどこもかしこも雪だらけで、道なんて到底作れるもんじゃないからさ。雪解けしてから一気に工事進めて完成がその頃だったんです。ガルグ＝マクの方なら虫の鳴き声で結構夜でも騒がしい季節でしょうが、こちらは虫の鳴き声より蛙や梟の野太い鳴き声の方が馴染み深い。つまり静かなんですよ。夏だろうが冬だろうが北国ってとこは。

　だから後ろから呑んだり食ったりしてる騒がしい連中の声だけ��ゃなくて、その音も聞こえちまったのさ。地面から聞こえてくる小さな鐘の音が。

　最初は酔っぱらってんのかと思った、でも違った。酔いも疲れも全部吹っ飛ばした次の日の夕方、邸に着いて馬を厩舎に一人で連れてった時にも、同じ音が地面から聞こえちゃったんですよ。救いなのは足元真下からじゃないことなんですが、リン… リン… って遠くから小さく地面を伝わって聞こえているのは間違いなくて、その上むかっ腹立つことに常に聞こえているわけじゃない。その音、俺が一人でいるときだけ聞こえてきやがるんです。まるで俺のことを墓守か何かだと思い込んでるみたいにさ。

　その年から毎年、それは春から初夏にかけて地面から響いて来てて、その時期だけ俺は自分が墓地にでもいるような心地になるんですよ。

意味の分からない話でしょう？ 俺だってしばらくの間、自分の頭が遂におかしくなったんじゃないかと思いました。働き過ぎたのか、それともこんな辺境で独りでいるから狂ったのか、自分で自分を疑いましたよ。その上地面からの音は毎年近づいてきてまして、二年前あたりから地面からだけじゃなくて邸内の床からも聞こえてくるようになって、ああ、これは近づいて来ているんだと気づいて。

　一年のこの時期だけ上手く寝付けなくなったのは、それに気づいてからです。

　何が近づいて来てるって？ そんなの俺にだって分かりませんよ、答えは俺の足の下にしかないんじゃないですかね。でもまあ、思えば初めてその音を耳にした場所…そう、街道の通った例の村です。その村、うちの領で一番南にある村でして、グロンダーズ平原に近いんです。つまり殿下やフェリクス、イングリット達の死に場所から一番近いってことになる。そんな場所から、どんどん俺に近づいてくる鐘の音は、いやらしいことに大樹の節の終わりから二節ほど聞こえてくる。

忘れたとは言わせませんよ、あのグロンダーズ会戦が起こった日から音は聞こえるんです。

　先生。俺はね、鐘の音自体幻聴なんじゃないかと今でも思っているし、こんな考えは飛躍しすぎた妄想だとも思っているんですが… 手でこつんと鐘を揺らす音まで聞こえるんじゃないかってくらい、段々はっきり聞こえてくるようになった鐘の音を聞いていると、これはあいつらが鳴らしているあの世からの呼び鈴なんじゃないかと思うんですよ。

だだっ広いグロンダーズから自分達を連れ出せと、もしくは一人生き残った俺に早くこっちに来いと、そうやって俺をここから呼び出すためにあいつらが鳴らしている鐘の音なんじゃないかとね。

　まあ俺はこうして生き残ってしまったし、ここを放り出して積極的にあの世に行ってやる義理も立場も持っちゃいないんですが。でも俺がずっとこのまま返事をしなくて、そうやって呼び鈴鳴らしても返事をしてくれない奴を呼ぼうと思ったら、後は扉を叩くことしか出来ないでしょうよ。棺の蓋叩くみたいにさ。

　

　何ですかその顔は、もっと笑ってください。それに俺は正気ですよ、先生。正気じゃなかったらスレンと口���けで友誼を交わす、何て出来なかったでしょう。安心してください、今はあんたが居るから音は聞こえちゃいない。でもあんたが帰ったらまた聞こえるかもしれない。昨日も一昨日も、夜一人寝床に就いても聞こえたんだから。

　ああ、できればこのまま今夜は飲み明かしてくれませんか。聞いていて心地よいものでもないし、正直俺は恐れているんです。いつ俺の部屋の下から呼び鈴が聞こえだすか、いつ俺の部屋の扉がドンドンと叩かれるか。先生にも聞かせてみたいもんだ。あの涼やかなくせに湿っぽく迫って来るような音を。

　なあ、今度良ければ俺と一緒にグロンダーズに行ってみません？あの弔いの一つもされなかった平原に行ったら、もしかしたらあんたにも呼び鈴が聞こえるかもしれませんよ。

歴史は時のよすがを辿り、 フォドラの大地に新たな炎が灯される……

My Translation:  As history was built with the passage of time, the lands of Fodlán would be lightened by a new flame...  

Localization (in italics):  A rising flame was alight as the flow of time carved a new history for Fódlan. 

帝都アンヴァルが陥落し、

アドラステア帝国は滅亡した。

With the surrender of the imperial capital, the Adrestian Empire collapsed. 

The long reign of the Adrestian Empire finally met its end when the Imperial Capital, the city of Enbarr collapsed.

ここに、５年半に及んだ戦乱は収束し、 次なる時代が幕を開けたのである。

Here, the conflict that had lasted 5 and a half years came to a conclusion, which was followed by a new era revealing itself.

After five and a half years of war, a new age was set to begin.   

フォドラはファーガス神聖王国の名の下に統一され、 セイロス聖教会は帝都から救出された レアの大司教引退に伴い、 運営組織の再編が進められた。

When Fodlán was united under the name of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, along with the rescued Rhea's resignation from her duties as archbishop, the church of Seiros advanced changes in it's administration

With Fódlan united as the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, Archbishop Rhea, still weak from her imprisonment, stepped down from her position the Church of Seiros began to take the needed steps to reorganize. 

ディミトリはファーガス神聖王国の王座を正式に継ぎ、 旧帝国領・旧同盟領の諸侯をもまとめて 新たな治世に踏み出す。

Dimitri became the official sucessor to the throne of Faerghus, stepping forward also to establish rule over all the former lords of the Empire and Alliance territory. 

Prince Dimitri formally ascended the throne, beginning his reign as the king of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, which now included former Alliance and Imperial territories. 

弱者が虐げられることのない泰平の世を目指し、 正道を歩む国王を支えたのは、 聖教会の新たなる大司教だったという。

It is said the church's new archbishop supported the king as he walked the path of righteousness, aiming for a world of peace where the weak would never be oppressed.

Texts from the time claimed that the one who guided the king as he sought to create a world free from oppression, became the new archbishop of the Church of Seiros.

Verdant Wind

野望に満ちた邪王ネメシスを討ち、 フォドラ最大の危機は回避された。

With the defeat of the ambitious, wicked king Nemesis, Fodlán had averted it's greatest crisis.

The ambitions of the Fell King Nemesis were crushed, averting what could have been the greatest crisis in the history of Fódlan.

国家、信仰、歴史…… これまでの秩序を形作っていたすべてが白紙に戻り、 フォドラを救った英雄たちの手によって 新たな秩序が築かれようとしていた。 

Country, faith, history... everything that had shaped the order thus far was returned to a blank slate and a new order was built by the hands of the heroes that had saved Fodlán.

Country, faith, history...All that had once formed the order of the world was wiped clean. The heroes whose very hands saved Fódlan from a dark fate commenced with the building of a new society.

統一されたフォドラの新たな指導者は、 民族や信仰の違いを乗り越え、 誰もが平等に生きる世界を実現するため、 終わりの見えぬ道を皆と歩き始める。

The new leader of the unified Fodlán, overcoming the differences between peoples and faiths, began walking a never ending path together with everyone for the sake of realizing a world where all could live equally.

The leaders of this new unified Fódlan began their walk down a seemly endless path-one toward a world that would cherish differences in race and belief, one where all life would be valued equally.

その道はフォドラのみならず、 遠く大海を越えてダグザへ、 あるいは喉元を越えてパルミラへ、 やがて到達することを希って。

They yearned for this path to eventually reach places unseen from Fodlán, crossing over the far sea to Dagda or maybe crossing over the Throat to Almyra.

Those clung to the hope that their path would not end with Fódlan—that it would someday span the seas to Dagda and beyond the Throat to Almyra...

Silver Snow

暴走したレアはついに力尽き、 フォドラ最大の危機は回避された。

With the maddened Rhea finally having used up the last of her power, Fodlán had averted it's greatest crisis.

Rhea's wild rampage was put to an end, averting what could have the greatest crisis in the history of Fódlan.

帝国、王国、同盟…… かつてフォドラを形成したすべての勢力が崩壊し、 残されたセイロス聖教会の主導によって、 新たな統一国家が立てられようとしていた。

The Empire, Kingdom, Alliance... all of the forces that had made up Fodlán til that day collapsed, reforming and standing as a new, united nation under the guidance of what remained of the church of Seiros.

The Empire, Kingdom, and Alliance—all political structures that had once shaped the continent—were gone. A unified nation began to take shape under the watchful eye of the Church of Seiros.

聖教会の新たな指導者は 同時にフォドラの新たな王となり、 戦争を乗り越えて復興を志す人々の 大いなる助けとなった。

The new leader of the church also became the new sovereign of Fodlán, while their aim to overcome and rebuild after the war led them to greatly helping the people.

The church's new leader became a champion of the people, working tirelessly to help them overcome the horrors of war and to carve a path towards reconstruction.

かつて聖者セイロスが、 戦乱に喘ぐ人々を救い導いたように。 すべての生あるものの母として、 すべての心あるものの支えとして。

As Saint Seiros had once done, they guided the people who suffered during war to salvation, acting as a mother to all living things, supporting each and every soul.

Just as Saint Seiros tended to those who suffered in wars of the past, Fódlan's new ruler embraced their role as mother of all life and arbiter of every soul.

ラストの通称教会ルート

もろもろの回収も兼ねたかったのでスカウト可の生徒は全スカウトした

引き継ぎフル活用したので特に苦労しなかったけど、それなかったらヒルダちゃんシビアだなー

他ルートお馴染みの村人を振り切ってガルグマクに向かう描写が無いのはなんでなんだろう

偶然エルと会って即解散、その直後にセテスと偶然会うって結構強引な展開で笑った

エルとのムービーはよかった

やっぱ再開は夜明けの掃討戦に限るぜ

これセテスルート？

級長がやってたポジションをセテスがやってるのなんかおもろい　頼もしい

「このフォドラのためならばどんな労苦もいとわない」←この人主人公？

ペトラベル外伝にヒューベルト出現差分すごい　外伝で元生徒が敵として出るの初めて見た

今回全スカウトだから見られたけどカスパルメルセデス、リンハルトレオニーって外伝の組み合わせ難しすぎる

しかもカスパルメルセデス外伝結構核心的な話だった

予想はしてたけど、グロンダーズ蚊帳の外なのかなしい

どのルートでもクロードが確定して死ぬことはないんだな～ディミトリは目を離すとすぐ死ぬのに

戦死したと聞いた直後にディミトリの夢を見た後の「君に導かれることを求めていたのだろうな」コンボはキツ過ぎる

5月散策時の青獅子の子つらい

なんだかんだ一番クロードの心配してるローレンツお前ほんといいやつ　一方その頃ラファエルは筋肉の話をしていた

やはり級長がいないと何かが欠けている感がぬぐえない　セテス好きだけど

主人公の心臓と母親の件はこのルートが一番ハッキリ話��れた気がする

これが公式では「帝国ルート」呼びなの違和感あるなあ　最後の方帝国とかじゃなくてフォドラ全体の話だし

THE教会ルートって感じする

というか指輪の相手を興味本位でレアにした直後の最終章の展開で笑っちゃった　どうなるのか

枢機卿の儀式こええ　セイロス教の闇は深い

やっぱどうしてもレア様好きにはなれないなあ　嫌いでもないけど

最後のムービーも予想はしてたけどまたお母様呼びかオイオイ…ってなった

でも指輪の交換はロマンチックで良いね　くやしい

キリスト教でも強欲や貪食が罪とされます。前の記事の魚料理の項で「フィッシュ・デイ」の話をしましたね。断食、肉を断つことは敬虔な聖人、理性的なりっぱな人物に近付く道でした。われわれ日本人はこういうのを仏教的な「殺生戒」あるいは神道的な「血の穢れ」の観点で見てしまいがちですが、セイロス教やキリスト教では地に満ちる植物も動物も人間への恵みとして神が与えたものとされるので、理由はそこじゃないです。だから肉と魚に区別があるんですね。「殺すな」という意味だったら魚はええんかーいって話ですから。 キリスト教では肉を食べることで体が熱くなり、そういうエネルギーは肉欲の罪につながる悪いものと信じられていました。味付けの強いものも同じようなかんじです。貴族の贅沢な味である甘いおやつ的なものも、嫌いではなくてもそんなに好きではありません。 現代において「人間らしさ」とは泣いたり笑ったり怒ったりする感情のことだととらえられることが多いですが、それは機械と比べたとらえかたです。産業革命とか機械文明より前のヨーロッパ世界では、人間らしさとは獣と比べて、理性的で抑制的であることを意味していました。あらゆる強い欲や動物としての本能を神に与えられた理性の下に支配し、涼しい顔で抑えてみせるのが理想の人間というものなのでした。 よくイギリスの料理はマズイって国民性ジョークになってたりするじゃないですか、あれは食材の豊富じゃなさとかの問題ももちろんあるのですが、敬虔な清教徒（ピューリタン）の多いイギリスにおいては、古くから「食事をウメェウメェと食ったり美食にこだわったりするのは悪徳だし下品」という観念が強いという一因もあるのです。
