2/31 Days of Productivity ☆ July Challenge~°
화요일은 회사에서 쉬은 날이예요! 오늘은 인쇄 좀 하고 책 몇 권에 표시해 뒀어요! 집에서, 책을 다 얽었어요! 오디오북이 들을 때 수채화를 좀 해보려고 했어요!! 아직도 안 좋으니까 너무 재미있어요!
Today was my calm day at work! I pointed some things, and marked some books, and that's about it ㅋㅋㅋ I went to a café to do my homework after I finished work, and then went home. This weekend, I bought a set of watercolors and a coloring book, so I decided to test it out tonight while listening to the last few chapter of The Night Circus by Erin Morganstern!
📚 Margaret Atwood, Surfacing
🎧 The Bee Gees, Too Much Heaven
I wanted to start a monthly challenge in July and though I'm a full day late (lol) it's okay because most challenges are only 30 days long!!
Tumblr media
Day One: What are your main goals for this challenge?
Answer: I wrote all of my main goals into my Korean writing journal! They mainly cover the usual "resolutions" like working out, reading books, making plans with friends, but I also included things like looking after my skin because I have an entire draw of face masks that need using ㅋㅋㅋ

Diary entry 534
youtube
많은 더 비디오를 여기 그리고 여기도.
한국어 잘 공부하자 오늘!

best wishes/sentence of the day
"you're elisa, right?! i recognized you because i saw you coming from the same road you used to come with F. when you were coming back from middle school". it's a huge jump back in time but such a nice thing to hear said with a warm smile. more of this, please. and also more funny and warm interactions! (gotta love the easy but very precise and elegant character -and tongue- of this man btw) :)
what i learnt
if you stick your tongue out to a baby to make them laugh or try to make a weird face when you see them being all sad, another one will repay you in the same way. that's karma ofc. but such a cute one! my former classmates' son is such a cutie but also a punk lol we haven't seen each other much but today i could exchange a few moments with him (i mean he's 11 months old, so...). when he couldn't see his dad i told him where to look and then when his dad had to pick him up, he was looking almost straight at me and smiling he started sticking his tongue out. it was such a cute moment... like fr. i kept playing with him, pretending to be shocked "ah! you're sticking your tongue out to me!!" and trying to grab his little cute fat feet and he was smiling all the time.
(we like some funny lesson sometimes, don't we? maybe it also means that the more positivity you share, the more you get)

Hanja 하자
So if you are like me, you may not be great at learning Hanja due to the actual characters themselves. 質 - It’s can be a bit intimidating. Especially when [ 火 / 禍 / 化 / 畵 ] all can be a different 화. So instead of looking at the actual Chinese character, we’ll look at some important various meanings of hanja for intermediate Korean. This type of pattern learning will help you be able to deconstruct words with some context.
Here are some hanja that have frequently appeared for me recently:
~질 (質)  Meaning: Quality  Temper, Personal Nature - 성질  Characteristic - 특질  Geological Features - 지질  Illness - 병질
~력 (力)  Meaning: Strength or ability  Vitality, Vigor - 활력  Main Force / Strength - 주력  Frictional Force - 마찰력  Memory - 기억력 바보력
~화 (化)  Meaning: Conversion  Eng. Suffixes: -ization  Industrialization - 산업화  Commercialization - 상업화  Change, Alteration - 변화
적 (的)  Meaning: Disposition, Function, Connection  Eng Suffixes: -ical or -ive  Positive - 긍정적  Negative - 부정적  Passive - 소극적  Aggressive - 공격적  Psychological - 심리적  Physical - 신체적
These are all SUFFIXES so if you see them at the END of a word - for example: 화요일 vs 상업화 - these are obviously different 화s. But if you have the actual Chinese character you can check in a dictionary!
Hopefully this helps and let me know your favorite Hanja!

Hi 🌸
How are you guys?
Once again, I'm doing TTMIK books. I'm also working on my notes for uni but I'm still not finished with them 😩
Btw. Did you guys watch The Witcher (Wiedźmin) on Netflix? What do you think about it?
I personally cannot watch it in English, couse I'm too used to their voices and the whole vocabulary from the game and books. Which I did play and read in Polish, so I'm watching it with the Dub 😅

☆ As you Know / -잖아요 ☆
Hello Everyone ~ ! I have been getting a lot of requests recently asking for grammar above the beginner level – which means the majority of my followers are getting better at Korean! This, of course, makes me really happy, but if you are still confused about anything, please don’t hesitate to ask me.
Today I wanted to talk about ‘-잖아요’, ‘As you know,’ in Korean. This is a really common grammar ending to use when you are talking to someone [however, it is not to be used in formal situations or to people you talk to in respect]. -잖아요 is used when the speaker tells the listener about something that they should know. It can be used as ‘I told you so’ and ‘you should know that’ as well. For this, I will be separating it into 3 sections:
과거 [past]
현재 [present]
미래 [future]
To note, you don’t conjugate every verb attached. If there is or isn’t batchim (받침) in the infinitive, then you just take away the -다. Examples:
Tumblr media
*this is also applicable to verb stems ending in ‘오’ and verb stems including ‘하’ – past tense exception*
과거:
갔잖아요 – I told you // You should know that // As you know, I went
봤잖아요 – I told you // You should know that // As you know, I saw it
했잖아요 – I told you // You should know that // As you know, I did it
먹었잖아요 – I told you // You should know that // As you know, I ate it
현재:
가잖아요 – I go
보잖아요 – I see
하잖아요 – I do
먹잖아요 – I eat
미래:
갈 거잖아요 – I will go
볼 거잖아요 – I will see
할 거잖아요 – I will do
먹을 거잖아요 – I will eat
The last way that you can use ‘-잖아요’ is when you attach it to a noun and ‘이다’ (to be).
과거:
If the NOUN ends in a vowel, then you add – 였잖아요. If the NOUN ends in a consonant, then you add – 이었잖아요. Examples:
책이었잖아요
사과였잖아요
현재:
In the present tense, you add (이)잖아요 for consonants!
책이잖아요
사과잖아요
Tumblr media
애인 = lover // 힘들다 = to be strong
I hope that you guys found this somewhat useful, the chart is uploaded to my WordPress if you want to check that out and have for your own! I will be making posts like this with corresponding charts in the future, so stay tuned for that.
If anyone is at all confused, don’t hesitate to ask for clarification. I am always here to help! Happy Learning :)

Hello! I recently just got in the Langblr community and it kid of seems dead (??) so I was wondering if you're still active and learning Korean, haha😊
Hello! Welcome to the Langlr community!!
Tumblr media
I get what you mean by 'it seems dead'...because I feel the same way, and actually that is quite sad because I believe the Tumblr language studying community is really nice if you want to learn new languages!
In fact, I was gone for a rather long time, but I have returned!>< *insert applause sfx here* LOL
I decided that I will not only post my own blogs but also reblog other Langblr's posts...because it just takes too much time to create my own post and trying to cover everything that I think might be interesting for my followers ;-;
Thank you so much for the Ask! I really appreciate it (and contrary to the belief of most of my followers, I don't get any messages in my inbox 😳😔 ㅋㅋㅋ)
If you ever want to know something or just talk, feel free to hmu!♡ Until then, goodbye.
