both nyala and sol are tender-headed. trying to do their hair will have them moving away from you so quick. especially nyala, she has a lot of hair but she'll be damned if she doesn't wear her twist outs religiously because she doesnt want to worry about it.

nyala has a lot of hair, but she loves when someone plays with her curls, especially if she's given someone express permission. or to just scratch at her scalp ? she'll fucking purr.

when it comes to my beastkin, they live in a world where humans are aware of their presence, they don't bother hiding the animalistic traits that make them who they are.

my birds ( salem, elliot, ezra & ogun ), most of their fingers are talon-like, they stress-grip and make trilling noises, that haunting gunshot noise shoebills make, that loud noise hawks make, and for salem and elliot, you can tell they're phoenixes, because they're pale enough to see the fire in their veins. most of my birds, their wingspan will always be five times the width of their body ( it's suppose to support their weight ) and yes, they do have somewhat hollow bones but most of them have musculature skeletons that can handle harsh landings.

same with my predators, all my cats tend to make growling noises, they knock shit off tables, hiss, they have tails. most of this is not hidden, they can half-shift, and fully shift without a seconds notice, especially if in an emotional state. they get the zoomies, they go into heats ( where applicable for their animal ) and they have mating instincts.

and for some of them, but especially for my cats and birds, more specifically for my birds (i.e elliot and salem ), they tend to have like feathers hidden in their hair, or light feathers along their spine, they hop, and coo, and trill when happy, they make distressed noises. they're not human, they're still beasts no matter how pretty the human skin is.

nyala definitely takes after her late father when it comes to being stubborn, but she also has a lot of his gentle nature even when she's being stubborn. she doesn't mind ceding control when it comes to those she cares about because they mean a lot to her.

nyala with stretchmarks on her thighs and tummy, that she loves sm. will gladly wear a croptop so they can be seen.

there's something about someone massaging her scalp that makes nyala purr up a storm.

then we have muses who need an actual connection ( emotional especially ) to even feel arousal, to know that they are desired, that they are wanted by their partner, because it makes the passion, the sensualness of the moment even more intense. they enjoy these things because the love of their partner is felt, it's palpable, and they revel in that.

also one thing about nyala, what you see is what you get. she doesn't hide much of anything and she's honest. sure, she has secrets, but she's very forthcoming with those she considers her people.

something im realizing about nyala is that she suffers silently. it's not something she does intentionally, but more so that any nightmare she has, any moment of ptsd induced panic, all of that is spent alone. sis said that nyala is learning to trust without there being a hidden motive and that's accurate because she doesn't know what to expect from anyone, but when you have her trust, she will be there for you.

but getting back to my original point, nyala has her brother yes, and he is usually there when she has panic attacks. he's there whenever she chooses to stay at his place. but nyala's panic attacks aren't common, they don't follow the hyperventilating and panicked breaths. because nyala will freeze, she will not blink and she barely breaths. her brain sorta shuts down, tears spilling down her cheeks and she's stuck inside her head. it's like she's not there, but reliving the epitome of fear and she cannot get out, especially when dealing with it alone, so she usually surrounds herself with music, with people, with noise. and a lot of times, she needs to just get away, to breath, and this often leads her to finding the people she trusts. so in the aftermath, if she chooses to be in someone's space, it's her needing the companionship.

she's a mess, but she would rather give to someone while also breathing out the fear that sometimes restricts her entirety.

nyala likes to mark her territory sometimes . this also means she can get a little jealous when someone pays too much attention to her person. she'll act like it doesn't bother her, then she gets to growling and being intimidating. she's not used to sharing ( even as a cub ) so excuse her.

me thinking about how jendayi's necromancy extends to both space creatures, but also to the creatures hidden deep in the ocean. however, they tend to only use that whenever they're actually projecting into those spaces. however, most of their necromancy is for ancestors, especially when they perform rituals and contact them. it's important to keep in touch with said ancestors since their history is long.

on the flipside, the only one who does not always practice said necromancy is sol, because then he'd be tempted to revive his twin and it's not something he hopes to dabble in.

nyala is not often forthcoming with tales or memories with her family, but if she does bring it up, that means she's trusting you with a part of her. and that's very important.

nyala is definitely morally grey when it comes to all situations. if you think she wouldn't snap someone's neck, you'd be wrong. she is a predator, and to her, it's kill, maim or incapacitate. if she lets you live, its a mercy, it's not pity.

i mentioned that aurelia passed down magic of some kind to her children, and while they have never used it unknowingly, their bodies are thrumming with it. a lot of it has to do with necromancy, and while they themselves have died, the magic that is tied within their blood is the reason why they live. i mention ahmar a lot, and ahmar is the celestial deity tied to their magic. ahmar is as old as the ocean itself, and his protectiveness over aurelia's children is a wrath that would tear apart the universe.
