My first genuine art of 2025 has arrived! Love month has finally come and almost gone, and y’all know what that means? I get to blabber on and on even more about a certain couple from a popular hilariously offensive cartoon with cussing and poop jokes that only my weirdo self would hyperfixate on.

If you’ve been following me for the past year you knew damn well this day would eventually come. I’ve drawn these two for V-Day last year (albeit one month late, as per usual for me), so why not do it again? I’ve been seeing fanart of Randy and Sharon as an angel and devil, so I used that as the main inspiration for my fanart with a few changes. Though some of you guys would argue that it should be the opposite since it fits their personalities more. I see where peeps are coming from, but to that I say- where’s the fun in that? I just like me some role reversals lol

Also took a little bit of inspiration from old vintage Valentine’s Day cards from the 1950s and 60s, hence the chibi art style that I’d tried going for. I swear I literally hug both of them ‘cause they turned out soooo adorable,, 🥹

And out of boredom, I sneaked in a little easter egg in the art. Curious to see if some of y’all are able to find it 👀

But with that out of the way, I want to get into the meat and potatoes of this post, and why I’ve been anticipating so long to finally drop this at the right time.

Y’all know how defensive I am of these two as a couple, and don’t get me wrong, I will defend Sharandy until the day I leave this Earth, but this is (probably) the final time that I’ll be going full defense mode about them in a post. You guys are probably tired of me yapping about them, and I’m kinda glad that I won’t be making an unnecessarily long post like this again for a long long while either. This’ll also be a semi-defense of Mr. Marsh himself because my boy has been getting a little bit of hate recently, so let me learn you guys a thing or two about him while I’m at it.

And before I start, I neglected to mention a point in my previous other fanarts. I never want to come across as someone whose opinion is the only right one and that anyone else who thinks otherwise is invalid and should be shunned. That’s lame as hell and I think you guys should have your own opinions without being made fun of.

However, keep in mind that this is my opinion and that you don’t have to agree with me. Most importantly, please no fighting in the comments. Let’s keep it peaceful here, mkay? But even if you dislike or hate Sharandy, please give this post a read with an open mind and maybe you’ll understand where I’m coming from and at least give the couple a chance.

Now to say that Randy and Sharon’s marriage is somewhat polarizing in the South Park community/fandom (and I’d argue maybe even the cartoon community/fandom in general) is an understatement. I do consider some criticisms of their relationship fair, but for the most part, I think it’s just very misunderstood and misinterpreted. Highkey annoyed of hearing the same-old asinine, “tHeY hAvE a LoVeLeSs, ToXiC, dYsFuNcTiOnAl MaRrIaGe”, “ThEy HaVe No CuTe MoMeNtS aNd Do NoThInG bUt ArGuE”, and, “RaNdY iS a TeRrIbLe HuSbAnD wHo DoEsN’t DeSeRvE sHaRoN” claims that everyone and their mama enjoys spewing out whenever their relationship is discussed. Which is why I’ll be giving my two cents on these statements and why I personally think they’re all loads of bs, and why I also think the couple doesn’t deserve the hate they get and need more appreciation.

First things first, as I’ve mentioned many times before, the two don’t always argue, that just comes from y’all constantly flanderizing them and just doing them super dirty. It pisses me off how often people just pigeonhole the couple into doing nothing but being at each other's throats 24/7, when that couldn’t be far from the truth. Even if they do bicker, let me give you guys a reality check… other fictional couples and even some real life couples sometimes argue as well.

*GASP* I know! What a shocker! The audacity of the both of them acting realistic, the horror! 😱

In case you haven’t noticed, in almost 3 decades of the show's existence, it’s definitely not all rainbows and unicorns down in South Park, and Randy and Sharon’s relationship is no different. If it was saccharine all the time, the two would just be so cookie-cutter dull and uninteresting to watch. And just like real couples, they have their strengths and weaknesses to prove that they have a good marriage, which is way more healthier and better to watch than a certain other couple being garbage to each other every single episode that I’ll mention soon in this post. And on the topic of their strengths…

Second counterpoint, the two have had many genuinely wholesome, funny and cute moments together in the show. My favorite moments with the two that I can immediately list off the top of my head are the clubhouse ending, the Minecraft episode, when they went to the Creek yaoi convention, the scrotal coat episode, the episode when Randy wrote a song for Sharon, and Broadway Bro-Down. But the problem here is that moments like these are often overlooked, and people straight up don’t even pay attention to the good moments at all and only focus on the bad ones which is frustrating.

Also annoys me how Randy and Sharon are often thought of to hate each other when that’s clearly false. Sometimes pissed off? Yes. But loathe to the core? Hell no! The latter just comes from others’ projecting onto them and just giving wack ass excuses on why they should divorce. Not to mention how I HATE how there’s stuff depicting the both of them being worse versions of each other such as upping Randy’s alcoholism and basically turning him into a Stephen 2.0 towards Stan and Shelly, and turning Sharon into a nagging harpy. And I also hate whenever people have both of them cheating on each other. Unless if it’s a harmless AU where they’re dating different characters, neither of them would act so grossly OOC like that if it was in the regular universe/canon.

So maybe actually freaking watch the show instead of going by whatever delusional fanfiction you created in your head or listening to random YouTubers’, Twitter users’ and TikTokers’ really rancid af takes about them with no context whatsoever and who don’t even try to look up the source material 🥱

Another thing that I’ve seen some people criticizing their marriage for is relying on the, “dumb husband and smart wife” trope. In defense of that trope, I like it, and it can be done right most of the time. There’s a lot of couples from franchises I grew up with both animated and live-action that fall into that trope, so I’m used to seeing it. To me, Randy and Sharon are the Homer and Marge (another one of my favorite cartoon couples) of South Park. Both couples fall into aforesaid trope, and while they do have their flaws, they make up for them with their strengths and are not just good couples but parents as well. They’re not squeaky-clean and ideal, and that’s the point of them.

This is also my biases showing a lot, because I adore the opposites attract trope, especially the “silly/stupid guy and sensible/serious girl” dynamic, my favorite out of all of them. It works so well for Randy and Sharon and they still manage to have a healthy bond. And honestly speaking, they’re head and shoulders above some other pairings like Cartman and Heidi, Stephen and Linda, Stuart and Carol, and even other couples from other shows like Stan and Francine from American Dad, and Peter and Lois from Family Guy. The latter especially because it is WILD to me that I’ve been seeing some people defend and even rank the two higher in tier lists. Let’s be honest here, once Family Guy tanked in quality, so did Peter and Lois’ marriage, along with a bunch of other couples such as Joe and Bonnie. Both are just horrible and irredeemable characters and their relationship is beyond repair atp.

And last but certainly not least, for any Randy haters/detractors that are reading this, give him this- for the wrongdoings he’s done, he’s at least apologetic, because even when he royally screws up, he owns up to his actions. He has many moments where he has the decency to say, “I’m sorry” to not just Sharon but his whole family and others, and promises to try and not do it again. And compared to some certain other husbands/dads, he’s not an abusive, p3d0ph1l1c, psychopathic asswipe and never once raised his hand against his wife (*cough* Peter Griffin), he’s never cheated on her (*cough* Stephen Stotch), or even married her solely based on her appearance (*cough* Stan Smith).

Also don’t like how some people remove his traits that make him special in order to be a “normal husband/dad”, which, again, people ignore that regular Randy is capable of doing so. Randy being unhinged, over-the-top, reckless and silly is what makes him such an iconic and beloved character, but when those traits are removed from him, he just becomes painfully boring and generic. Just let characters like him keep their edge and stop making everything PC and over-sanitized because you’re too sensitive (I’m saying this as a black girlie). Randy may be far from perfect, but he’s still, oh y’know, a likeable character. He tries his best, and it also shows that Sharon’s still lucky to be with him. Randy’s got more good to him than bad, and he’s one the best and one of my favorite lovable idiot characters because of that.

In conclusion (or TL;DR), Randy and Sharon Marsh are a good couple, actually. Even if his stupidity overpowers him, Randy is still able to get his act together to step up his game and be a good and loving husband to Sharon. That’s why I think that they’re not just one of the best South Park couples, but dare I say one of the best cartoon couples in general. Yeah, I said it. Sure, the two aren’t perfect, but let’s be real with ourselves- is any other couple really?

While I do prefer and like Stendy better since Stan and Wendy have a more pure and cuter relationship, Sharandy will always remain a close second to me. Ever since I first started watching and getting into the show back in middle school, I’ve always had a soft spot for the two, the both of them are just great characters. They’re definitely no dysfunctional or toxic couple. Sharon doesn’t, “deserve better”, and Randy shouldn’t, “get divorced and jilted”. Their marriage has been through ups and downs over the years, yet through it all, they still manage to have a realistic, yet healthy and sweet relationship, and that is a feat that should be applauded. The fact of the matter is that my problematic king and unproblematic queen deserve each other. Case closed, end of discussion.

My apologies if this post was just more long rambling from me, Sharandy is just one of my favorite comfort ships, and the fact that the hate for it has been kinda blown out of proportion for a while motivated me to step in and debunk some untrue stuff about it and talk about how dirty it’s been done over the years.

And as I mentioned before in a post a year ago, I kinda blame the scorn for the couple because of the modern/current seasons and how they portray Randy. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy Tegridy Randy, but I’m just not a fan of how he’s been flanderized so much and doing stuff his previous self wouldn’t do. So, here’s to hoping that he’ll maybe get better in the upcoming season soon.

Once more, I respect y’all for not liking or supporting the couple or ranking them lower on tier lists. I just wished that they were more popular within the fanbase and had a lot more positive fanart, fanfictions, animations and whatever else stuff instead of the negative things about them I’ve mentioned. Though I will say, since last year and recently this year, I have seen my fair share of others who have the same feelings about Sharandy as me as well as adorable fanart of them and it warms my heart that I’m not alone on it. And who knows? Maybe or maybe not there’ll be more people like that after this post drops.

oh i love whimsical questions sm! not sure quirky enough but every time i go out to a restaurant with a loved one, i always take the receipt with me and stick it into my diary along with details of our meeting so now my diary is filled with old receipts lol. also idk if it counts as a collection but i wanna make a book full of handprints of all my loved ones so when i'm missing them, i can open my diary and hold their hand. idc how sensitive or weird i sound but i've been planning this since a longggg time and mai krke rahungi 😋💌

ahh i love this que too! it made me think of my guy friend. we're both pretty guarded in the way we talk & esp me, i don't really open up with him much so things between us remain quite subtle. so i can't think of just one single compliment but of every conversation we've ever had. he always ends up saying things that make me feel i matter to him. even when his word's aren't loud, they are just enough for me.

Alex’s hand catches the posy first before it lands in Henry’s hand, and to be frank, he has no clue how he just did that. Neither does Henry, judging by the low gasp the prince took at Alex’s sudden presence.

The poor flower guy looks startled as well, standing awkwardly with his hand extended mid-air.

“I’m sorry,” he says robotically. “I’m afraid the prince can’t accept your gift. See, His Royal Highness is allergic.”

The attendee’s face ashens, and he starts blabbering apologies as Alex finds the nearest trash bin and dumps the flowers in it. Somehow, he catches sight of Henry’s face looking guilty before it’s charged with something else that Alex did not see coming. Rage.

the breakup was literally through lack of communication and bc being apart for so long hurt too much bc it felt like u were missing out on the most important parts of the others life. but you’d been together for a while and ofc u and his mam became really close and stayed close after the breakup even tho she never really understood why it happened bc u both refused to talk abt it. and ur both still so hung up on the other and stupidly in love but u don’t know how to reconnect and ur worried the other has moved on. and then ur having coffee w his mam one day when they’re home over the summer and she’s taking abt all of jude’s achievements the last year and how much he’s grown and just how proud she is and suddenly ur crying bc u cant believe you’ve missed all that? like she tells u something that’s happened and u just can’t believe u didn’t know bc at one point u knew absolutely everything abt him. and she’s so worried bc she doesn’t know why ur crying and ur telling her that u miss him and u hate that you’ve missed so much and that u couldn’t make it work and blabbering abt how u hate that ur still in love w him when he’s probably moved on. and ofc she knows for a fact he hasn’t moved on and she doesn’t wna meddle but ur both so obviously miserable without the other and she knows getting back together will fix that.

so she’s calling jude and he’s coming home and there’s just this immediate change when he sees u, eyes lighting up even tho he can tell you’ve been crying and he’s hugging u so tightly :(( asking how you’ve been and mumbling a quiet “i missed u” which makes ur chest literally ache. then ur spending the afternoon talking abt everything and anything, catching up after being apart for so long and then ur talking abt how u miss each other and everything just isn’t the same. and jude’s so hesitant when he’s asking if u wna try again, asking if u wna go for dinner the next day

Achievements lately 💌

🌞 My final exam went well! Hindi pinagpawisan, hindi nagduda, at hindi nakulangan. I was satisfied with how I performed during the test. All the blood, sweat, and tears I poured into my review paid off. I was in the usual frame of mind therefore I was able to ace it.

🌞 I learned to prioritize myself and decided to water my own flowers rather than consuming my energy to take care of somebody’s garden. Ang dami kong na-encounter na mga taong unti-unti nilalabas ang tunay na kulay and it helped me to prevent myself helping these ungrateful persons. I fucking dodged a bullet. Thanks to my positive vibration kasi naramdaman ko agad sila.

🌞 I started reading self-help books. Believe me, if I say my life has improved since I started reading Soo-Hyun Kim’s I decided to live as me. The past few weeks have had me puzzling about the things and people I couldn’t control. Yet, the book became the drive to get me through the misery and find a path to eternal happiness. On the other hand, it helped me regain my consciousness of the world around me and that I am not responsible for how other people perceive me.

🌞 I finally get to know my grades and guess what? This girl is a President’s Lister with Highest Honors, which permits me to get a 100% discount for my tuition fee. This will be my 3rd streak of being an honor student in my college career and I feel nothing but ultimately blessed. It is indeed true that if you focus on what’s in your center and not on people’s blabbers, you’ll get whatever you want to. It’s a matter of believing in yourself.

🌞 ANG GANDA NG HAIKYU WTF BAKIT NGAYON KO LANG PINANOOD ITO?! This anime show got me hooked. Magiging nocturnal na naman ako because of this and I ain’t complaining. I’m loving it here, so far.
