I find it very satisfying that Zorian's own choices are what lead to his involvement in the plot.
Zach's meddling may have saved Zorian's life in the initial barrage, but it's Zorian's decision to search for Akoja that tangles their fates together. If Zach had his way Zorian would have been "safe" at the shelters by time Quatach-Ichl showed up, but Zorian strikes out to repay the debt he feels he owes Akoja by driving her into danger and winds up at the right place at the right time. He never would have been partially soul melded to Zach if he had been callous enough or lacking in courage enough to abandon Akoja.
On top of that, he makes a second decision to prioritize someone else's life over his own safety when he let's go of the teleport rod to push Zach out of the way of Quatach-Ichl's attack. Granted, he had to react in a split second and had no time to deliberate, but his first instinct was to protect Zach rather than ensure his own escape.
Amusingly, Zach complains that Zorian let go of the rod while Zorian fires back that Zach would be dead if he hadn't done that. He doesn't seem to regret his choice at all, even if it means that he himself is still in danger.
Zack comments multiple times that trying to keep Zorian alive is a chore, and it occurs to me that the main reason Zorian didn't become involved in the loops years earlier is precisely because Zorian is so difficult to keep alive during the invasion. It wasn't until Zach successfully and naturally got Zorian to attend the dance that the dominoes start falling. Only by saving Zorian does Zach inadvertently open the door for Zorian to enter the stage and drastically change the trajectory of events, eventually saving Zach in turn.
Only when Zorian is alive and free to act completely within his own nature, both driving Akoja away and subsequently trying to rescue her, is he elevated to a protagonist role.

How Donita Met Henry
This was a lot longer than I expected so I placed it below the cut
TW: divorce, pregnancy, abandonment, disownment, affairs
Donita Donata always knew she was different from the rest of her family. Her parents and 6 brothers couldn’t seem to understand why she wanted to leave their small town in Greece, a place she had lived her entire life, and become a fashion designer. She loved her town, she really did, but she wanted  needed to leave and try to follow her dreams. So, when the opportunity presented itself, she left her home and moved to New York to be a fashion designer. After months of failure and making virtually no money, Donita met Zachary Varmitech, a young tech billionaire, at a ‘Find Your Villian Seminar’ she was working at to make money and connections for her business. She initially found him incredibly annoying, complaining and whining about the clams at his dinner, but decided to strike up a conversation with him, for the sake of her business and sanity. Zach grew on her over time, reminding her of her youngest brother, who was 12 when she moved.
After meeting Zach, Donita’s career blew up, giving her more money and fame than she could have dreamt of with her normal designs and her newest collection of Living Legends. But Donita still felt empty inside, having just witnessed the meeting of Zach and Violet again and knew they were destined to be together, she wanted someone like that for herself. Shortly after, she met Henry at a nightclub she frequented. Henry was a Cuban musician, who rose to fame shortly after she did. Donita was instantly in love, believing that this moment was what her entire life had lead up to. Henry reciprocated this love and the two began to see eachother daily. A little bit after their one year anniversary, Donita discovered she was pregnant. She was excited, but worried about what her parents and family, who were very traditional would think. Henry on the other hand, was over the moon and offered to elope with her on the spot. Donita, being naive and in love, agreed but kept her finances and company in her own name as a precaution. They ran off to Vegas and got married in a courthouse, telling noone. When Donita’s family discovered what happened, her parents and four of her six brothers vowed to never speak to her, excluding her two younger brothers. Donita was completely heartbroken, but determined to make the relationship work to spite her parents and have a stable home environment for her daughter, Daphne Catalina Donata, born three months after her elopement.
Her initial love of Henry quickly began to taper off with the stresses of a new baby and with Henry constantly being on business trips for his music career, having worn off completely by Daphne’s fourth birthday, leaving both of them frustrated and in arguments constantly. Zach, still hurt from being excluded from her elopement/wedding and someone who never really liked Henry, and Gourmand, a newer friend of Donita's that she met through work in the past year, both tried to convince Donita to file for divorce, telling her that both Daphne and her would be better off without Henry in their lives, but Donita persisted, partially out of love for Henry, but mostly to prove that her parents were wrong about her and Henry. Dabio, Donita’s new business partner and friend brought tensions to an all time high, leading to frequent screaming matches about if Donita was having an affair with him or Martin, someone Donita was known to have a crush on.
In the end, Henry asked for a divorce, telling her he had met someone else. Donita asked for full custody, he agreed and never fought for Daphne. Henry married Allison Brighton after getting his divorced, and proceeded to have 3 more children with her, Alexis (age 9), Jonathan (age 4), and Milly (1.5 years). Allison is a very insecure woman and viewed Donia and Daphne by association as a threat, and treated Daphne horribly, with no rebuttal from Henry. Daphne was shattered by this news, viewing herself as more of a ‘daddy’s girl’ and frequently waited by the door for her father to come back to them and got disappointed every time when he didn’t show up for her, fueling Donita’s hatred of him. Eventually Daphne gave up trying to get her father to love her the way she wanted him to and developed a complicated relationship with him and love as a concept.
(Violet belongs to @jokerislandgirl32 (please lmk if you would like me to remove her/that storyline from my au))

Been thinking of how a trans!Jack Frost AU would go, and how the moon probably just gave this kid a free transition before raising him back as a spirit

i'd like to propose a new term as a sort of counterpart to "woobification" and "fridging": "atticking". referring to when one character commits uncharacteristic wrongdoings (abusing, murdering, etc.) unto another character for the sake of the latter's development at the expense of the characterization of the former
similar to fridging in that both are tropes that relegate a character's existence to solely revolving around the development of another, and similar to woobification in that atticking is what produces the counterpart to the woobie, the one who can be used to cause the woobie pain
i picked "attic" as a counterpart to "fridge" and also as a reference to bertha mason from jane eyre, whose vilification at the hands of rochester manifested specifically in her being locked in the attic, but if anyone else has any better ideas i'd love to hear. "atticking" sounds perhaps too similar to "attacking", and "attic-ing" is too clumsy, so. feedback appreciated

I’m not kidding when I say that Brad Bird has done a better job of getting Ayn Rand’s beliefs across than Ayn Rand herself ever did.

Okay so I've been binging heartstopper on a loop to entertain myself in class and oh my god. I'm obsessed with the idea of there being a ton of fan art and animatics of Zuben to bits of heartstopper. Like at the beach with the "your my boyfriend, I'm your boyfriend, we're boyfriends" part and Nick's lil "I don't wanna break up" monolauge, and the "I'm just recharging" like. They're very very Nick and Charlie core and I love them for that.
