The only DC characters that I think must have blue eyes are Dick Grayson and Clark Kent. Idk why these specific two characters. It just...is? Bruce? Maybe grey. All of the others? Brown. That's it. Because it's the most common colour. Especially Damian and Diana should have brown eyes.
90s Talia Head did, in fact, have brown eyes. Idk when it switched to green. (Before you say it: I know central asian people have coloured eyes. I know they're still ethnically brown. But it's still a fact that most people have brown eyes).
Selina has green eyes—she’s drawn with green eyes even then I remember a comic textually waxing about her blue eyes. Wanted to bash my head against a wall. Anyways, green is fine. But I like brown eyed Selina.
One time I read a Cass Cain character sheet with eye colour: green and I could have murdered DC execs. My respect for artists and colourists of DC for consistently drawing Cass with brown eyes.
And what's this shit about Lois having purple eyes? What is she? Elizabeth Taylor? Did she even have violet eyes or was it blue? Do purple/violate eyes even exist? Brown eyed Lois Lane, folks. That's it. It's only ✨ realistic ✨ don't dudebro writers love realism? Where's that realism when it comes to colouring?
I have this intense hatred of poc characters with coloured eyes—not because poc with coloured eyes don't exist, they absolutely do!—it’s just that brown is such a common eye colour, even among white people, and just... It seems like confirming to European standards of beauty like—“hey! We checked the diversity box, and just to let you know that this character is pretty, let us inform you they have coloured eyes!”
For ATLA I don't hate them having coloured eyes though... For some reason—maybe it's because of the cultural coding in a fantasy world thing. I don't grudge them that. Although I do draw all ATLA characters with brown eyes—amber in case of Zuko (only FN characters have canonically brown/amber eyes) but yeah. ATLA might be the only piece of media where I don't hate poc having coloured eyes. It's tied to bending and all so...yeah.
And please stop insisting live action actors should wear coloured contacts. They're a majority poc cast and most have brown eyes, fucking respect that.
P.S: kudos to Dexter Soy for giving us brown eyed Jason. He also draws Artemis as the fucking Amazon that she is—I wish they let him draw Kory. I haven't found Kory's design appealing since Perez stopped drawing her. What's the point if she isn't a head taller than Dick?

Intro to RAPTURE ACADEMY
(so remember a few months ago I said I wanted to make a list of characters for a fighting game? It has a name now lol)
RAPTURE ACADEMY is a superhero/alternate history project centrally focused around the Rapture Academy and Institute for Superpowered Opportunists, a school thinly designed to raise supervillains. Primarily focusing on the stories and systems around a bunch of kids with intensely dangerous powers enrolled in a private academy headed by imprisoned supervillain No. 1 Angel as part of an internationally-backed plea deal. The kids are alright.
STUDENTS:
Anti (Canadian) - Analog horror-themed hoodie kid with dark powers (makes everything they hit distort like a broken VHS tape), surprisingly nice and wholesome and probably the least likely to actually become a career villain.
Hellbound ("Eastern European") - Princess sacrificed to a draconic ritual, became a half-dragon berserker who spends her time bound in magic chains. A demure sweetheart when lucid, murderous beast otherwise.
The Vigilante Smog Monster/"Smoggy" (Australian) - A swamp monster summoned by an indigenous tribe searching for a protector, can turn into sludge and murder smoke, wears enchanted wooden masks.
Twintails (Japanese) - two students in one! A male wizard apprentice and a female ninja apprentice from rivalling clans that were fused together by a trickster yokai; one person is in control at a time, they swap from sneezing.
IDKYS/I Don't Know You, Sorry (Filipino) - Aspiring idol/daughter to high-ranking entertainment execs with a literally hypnotic voice. Placed in school with a voice-to-computer TTS mask in order to be taught a lesson in humility, is the class queen anyway.
Magnus VI (American) - Indestructible cyborg cowboy built by a mad science firm who can explosively self-destruct any joint in his body before reassembling. Extremely arrogant. No one touches his hat.
Metal Alice (French) - Daughter of a supervillain who died and was brought back as a haunted animatronic unknowing that she died. Is a walking portal to the ghost dimension who can pull out all sorts of phantasmic metal weapons, from scissors to chainsaws.
Hot★Shot (Chinese) - Cocky martial arts prodigy, has fire abilities, up-and-coming superstar. Basically thinks he's the protagonist of a shounen fighting game, is a colossal asshole from it, yet is the popular jock regardless.
Vioelectrolysis(Motswana) - Upbeat mad scientist-in-training who fights using a giant modified fire-extinguisher that mixes chemicals for deadly use, as well as a bigass flail for deadly use. She may or may not be a mutant.
White Slate (Greek) - A living statue accidentally created by a mad artist, has the ability to turn people into stone with his touch. Is missing a face, sometimes paints one on for intimidation points. Mostly an emo boi who paints a lot.
zZomnia (Pakistani) - Phoneaholic teen haunted by nightmares that double as guardian spirits with insanely powerful weapons whenever she's asleep or is on the verge of it. Is constantly sleepy. Leave her alone.
Bitter Batter (N/A) - Just an ordinary girl with no superpowers, but a baseball bat, a silent death glare, and murderous intent. Originally a teen vagrant before being enlisted in the school. The most "normal" student and also the most fn terrifying
Moonlight Rosebloom Powderpuff of the Unside Neverlandian Court (Scottish?) - A bubbly (alleged) fairy noble from a (disputed) faraway realm hidden in a (presumably) magical garden. Wields (conversely very real) magic. It's very pink.
Ryvr Sticks (Ukrainian) - A scarecrow infected with a paranatural fungi giving him sapience, regeneration abilities, and hallucinogenic powers. Indisputably the class clown and source of gossip. Is a wicked breakdancer.
FACULTY:
No.1 Angel (███) - Headmaster, part-time supervillain, full-time asshole. thinks he's a superhero who deserves to protect humanity but then gave another superhero cancer using his light manipulation powers for trying to stop him.
Panopticon (███) - head of security, a silent dude in black armor and an old-timey diving helmet who sometimes appears unacknowledged to stare at everyone in class, in hallways, or off campus. Powers unknown.
Señor Heartpuncher (Mexican) - Teacher of self-defense. Retired lucha-themed super with a long history of being a hero, but once had a heel-turn and became teacher because he owed a favor to No.1 Angel. has the ability to absorb and reflect kinetic force, perfect for teaching kids how to hit punches then tank them
Drill Instructor Friday (Brazilian) - Teacher of phys ed. Acts like the scariest and most intense drill instructor you can think of. She's also a genuine werewolf. Comes up with some of the funniest PG-13-level insults imaginable and then punishes you for laughing at them.
OfOz (Haitian) - Teacher of paranatural arts (magic, anomalies, anything "supernatural"). Pretty chill and charismatic expert in the field, is able to split his soul/body separately. Only one half of him is teaching classes, other half is doing supervillainy elsewhere in the world.
DDDD (South Korean) - Teacher of technology arts. Is the head of a megacorp developing devices for supers, mostly villains. Teaches remotely from the other side of the world using a mini-mech suit that she pilots from her office. It has weapons. She forgets this. Frequently rants about her competitors and has to be reminded by her secretary to stay on topic.
Sir SPECTACULAR!!! (Swiss) and The Virtuoso (German) - Teacher and assistant teachers of theatrics (getting students to figure out their gimmicks/brand/performances as supers). They used to commit "theatre crimes" together with SPECTACULAR!!!'s super-conductor powers and Virtuoso's super-VR tech, turning cities into musicals. After turning the state of Oklahoma into a musical, they've settled down teaching kids and enjoy it.
Mr. Professor Von Ruin (Austrian) - "Teacher" of ethics (the legalities and philosophies of being a super). he is actually a cat. a super-intelligent, talking cat, pet of a supervillain, but a cat. he doesn't really teach, so his period's just a free block.
Miss Brutalist (Swedish) - Teacher of logistics (resourcing and management of being a super). No powers, actually runs a business designing HQs and lairs for various supers. Most of her assignments involve getting students to do paperwork for her projects.
Dr. Infinity-Plus (Hungarian) - Teacher of general sciences and maths. Has incredible foresight/caculation abilities, which drove him... not quite "insane" but very jaded, paranoid, and antsy. Will often derail classes to vent about existentially terrifying concepts. wears a Rubik's cube-like helmet to dampen his mind.
Sewn Chaos (Azerbaijani) - Teacher of home economics. Former career super before using her textile-manipulation powers to design costumes for others, helps the kids figure out their costumes. genuinely like everyone's favorite grandma up until she shares stories of all the f'd up villains she worked with. Good times!
DREADNAUT (Russian) - Head librarian. Ghostly cosmonaut afflicted by paranatural forces while on the moon, now has gravity powers but is stuck in a fugue state. manages the school's library containing vast resources... which is constructed upside-down in order to make it harder for kids to access.
Gutwrencher (Czech) - Head nurse. A zombie in all but name, has a flesh-mending/regeneration factor she can use to heal herself and others. Is constructed out of various necrotic body parts and stitching that often come apart at inconvenient times. Some students are attracted to her and don't know why.
Mr. BRB (Italian) - Head janitor (and also the only one). He's a necromancer who summons ghouls to help do the cleaning for him but often still leaves things dirty. Mostly chills out in his office to record his personal podcasts and offer advice to kids who ask nicely.

Was sold fake Bawa, Souza, 9 more paintings for ₹17.9 cr, alleges exec
The India head of the US-based private equity firm TPG Capital filed a complaint with Tardeo police late on Monday night alleging that he was sold paintings by leading Indian artists worth ₹17.9 crore that turned out to be fakes. In his complaint, Bhatia named solicitor Vishwang Desai and art dealer Rajesh Rajpal, the owner of Art India International at Churchgate, as the men who duped him.
Puneet Bhatia, who recently started building his personal art collection, told police that 11 of the paintings he bought from Rajpal, including a Manjit Bawa and an FN Souza, turned out to be forgeries. In his complaint, he told police that he was introduced to Desai, managing partner in the law firm Desai and Diwanji, at a friend’s party in January of 2022. Bhatia told police that he was impressed by Desai’s knowledge about Indian art and he bought his claims of long experience in buying and selling art at face value. As their friendship cemented, Desai allegedly told Bhatia to invest in art and offered to help him source the “right” artworks. According to Bhatia’s police statement, Desai talked up Rajesh Rajpal’s credentials as an art dealer and spoke about his office at Churchgate and his art gallery at Cuffe Parade to establish Rajpal’s bona fides.
It was in the course of their many conversations about art and investment that Desai first told him about a Manjit Bawa painting titled Krishna with Cows which was up for sale for ₹ 6.75 crore. “I was told that the current owner of the painting was a retired IAS officer called Subrata Banerjee who lived in Bhopal,” said Bhatia in his police complaint. Desai also told him about a painting by FN Souza which was available for ₹1.75 crore, and which was allegedly owned by the head of an erstwhile princely state in Madhya Pradesh.
In early February, Bhatia was told that Banerjee was about to leave for London and the deal needed to be made before that. “I was told that Rajpal was in Bhopal to bring both the Bawa and the Souza to Mumbai.” Bhatia, who was then based in Gurugram, asked Rajpal to courier the two paintings to his bungalow instead.
Within days of him receiving the art consignment, Desai provided him with the requisite certificates of authenticity, self-attested and notarised certificates of provenance from the previous owners, and the invoices from Art India International.
Happy with his purchase, Bhatia bought nine more paintings from Rajpal, paying a total of ₹17.9 crore, according to his complaint. The paintings, he said, were showcased on the walls of his home when some friends raised suspicions about their authenticity. It was only then that Bhatia began making independent enquiries into the provenance and authenticity of the artworks. “I also reached out to the said bureaucrat Mr Banerjee through my own sources but he denied ever owning the Manjeet Bawa painting or having sold any other painting by the artist,” Bhatia told police.
He next approached a Mumbaibased company, Structured Systems, which specialises in forensic examination of handwriting and authenticating of artworks. They assessed the signatures of the artists appearing at the bottom of the paintings and informed Bhatia that they were forged. Based on this report from Structured Systems, Bhatia confronted the Desai and Rajpal, and demanded they return his money. He told police that while Desai first sought time, he later began evading his calls.
Solicitor denies role
When contacted, Desai denied his role in the dubious sale and told HT that he merely introduced Bhatia to the art dealer, and that they made the deal with the respective owner of the Bawa and the Souza. “I am not the person who sold the paintings to Bhatia,” he said, before going on to add that as an art connoisseur he himself had bought several artworks from Rajpal, and had in fact bought some paintings from the same lot as Bhatia.
As far as he knew, he said, the owners of the paintings had given Bhatia sworn affidavits and Rajpal too had provided him with certificates of authenticity. He also said, defending Rajpal, who is not a well-known name in Mumbai’s art circuit, that on Bhatia’s request, the art dealer had taken four of the painting sold to Bhatia and sold them to other buyers. The remaining seven artworks however could not be sold because the investment banker has refused to issue consent notes.
A representative from Structured Systems told HT they get frequent requests for authentication of artworks, and that most requests come to them through lawyers and independent agencies. Refusing to comment on Bhatia’s specific complaint, a representative, speaking on condition of anonymity, said: “We can only say that this kind cheating with art works happens far more often than most people realise.”
An officer with Tardeo police said the two accused had been booked under sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating and dishonesty), 467 (forgery of a valuable security, will or authority to transfer any valuable security), 468 (using forged documents for the purpose of cheating) and 471 (using forged documents as genuine) of the Indian Penal Code based on Bhatia’s complaint.
Both Rajpal and Bhatia remained unavailable for comment despite several efforts to reach out to them.
PUNEET BHATIA TOLD POLICE THAT 11 OF THE PAINTINGS HE BOUGHT, WHICH INCLUDED A MANJIT BAWA AND AN F.N. SOUZA, WERE FORGERIES

To do so go to Settings, Display, and select Brightness. If this occurs, chances are the adaptive brightness needs to be turned off. You may at times experience unwanted changes to the brightness of your Microsoft Surface. If you want to decrease the brightness, press Fn and the Backspace button. If your Microsoft Surface brightness control is not working, you can manually adjust this by holding down the Fn key and pressing the Del button to increase the brightness. If this happens there is usually a simple fix to correct the issue, many times you can find help in an online help forum or blog. The Microsoft Surface has many useful features, but occasionally it can malfunction and not work properly. Microsoft Surface Brightness Control Not Working This setting is useful in many instances but can be turned off easily in the control panel. This can cause issues and make it hard to see your screen when you may not have any problems seeing it, to begin with. Occasionally, problems can occur that affect the brightness and the setting that automatically adjusts to the brightness in the room. These methods are not complicated and usually fix the problem. There are several methods you can follow without first assuming you have a bug in the settings. Issues with the brightness on the Microsoft Surface can be easily fixed. These issues can be easily resolved and may not be a bug in the settings.
Linux brightness control not working pro#
Despite its many pros, some issues with the Surface Pro 7 screen brightness level problems have been experienced even when you do adjust it.
Linux brightness control not working code#
You can check it:Īnd, finally, r eplace the lines of code in the i3wm.
Linux brightness control not working install#
With sudo make install, you can install the files in directories which are otherwise read-only to your user. If you are getting permission errors with make install check and see whether you are trying to install into system directories.
Linux brightness control not working download#
So, just download or clone the source of light: Luckily, light is really lightweight and easy-easy to compile on every other distribution. Light is packed only for Arch Linux and you can find only packages for this distribution. I found an alternative to xbacklight command, a GNU/Linux application to control backlights called simply light. To run the script, it needs the superuser (sudo) privileges and so you must just give it to the root user to launch it from the configuration file.Īnyway, I preferred a different approach. $ sudo echo VALUE > /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightnessĪnd save the script in some place, maybe in user bin folder or something in your PATH. The most part of the solutions that I found, planned to make some scripts, changing the brightness with some bash commands: So, the following lines don’t work.īindsym XF86MonBrightnessUp exec xbacklight -inc 20 # increase screen brightnessīindsym XF86MonBrightnessDown exec xbacklight -dec 20 # decrease screen brightness The issue is set by the xbacklight command and brightness control doesn’t work in i3wm, I tested it and it doesn’t work also from a terminal session. Looking into the infinite knowledge of Google, I found a lot of solutions. A GNU/Linux application to control backlights Many solutions. *** The following solution is tested by users and it seems working without issues also on Fedora 28, 29, 30 and Ubuntu 18.04, 18.10 and 19.04 *** Light. On both GNOME3 and Unity7, the hardware brightness keys work fine. At the bottom of i3wm, we found respectively the GNOME and the Unity windows manager. The issue on the Lenovo Thinkpad with Fedora 26 is the same on the Acer ES1-111 with Ubuntu 17.04. At this time, on my new laptop, the brightness hardware keys don’t work as expected. I’m very pleased with i3wm, but day by day I need to adjust something.

Artificial Intelligence And Hip Hop Come Together As Virtual Rapper FN Meka Signs With Major Label
Artificial intelligence and hip hop have come together to produce a new artist. Virtual rapper FN Meka has signed with a major label and we can be sure to expect some major things soon. How Artificial Intelligence And Hip Hop Created FN Meka According to recent articles that came out on August 17 the AI-powered rapper signed a deal with Capitol Records. The first single from the artist was also dropped. "Florida Water" features rapper Gunna and gamer Clix. The "robo rapper" was created by Anthony Martini and Brandon Le of Factory New. And the duo were the first to "sign" the rapper. According to the creators the rapper's voice is in fact a real human. But everything else is designed through artificial intelligence technology. This includes his lyrics, chords, and the tempo of his music. The AI-powered rapper's fanbase has multiplied quickly. Gaining over 10 million followers on TikTok and over a billion views on video-sharing platforms in just one year. One of the draws of FN Meka's TikTok account is the fact he invites fans into his virtual world. Which includes jumbo Bugatti jets, Maybach helicopters, and machines that turn simple ice into diamond watches. The AI technology seems to be working because on his recently release single Meka's flow and lines are smooth. The song includes lines like "Oh just put on my tab/I don't see the prices, throw it in my bag." And "Clean water VVS diamonds bust down/Make it splash." As for the Capitol Records execs, they see artificial technology and hip hop coming together as the logical next step. Since tech plays such a major role in so many other industries. Ryan Ruden, Capitol Music Group's Executive VP of Experiential Marketing & Biz Development says the partnership with FN Meka is the future of music. And that it is just a "preview" of what the future holds. It will be interesting to see how FN Meka's concerts happen! To stay up with hip hop news check out FMHipHop! Former Jordan Brand Exec Jason Mayden on Designing Shoes for Kids
Jason Mayden is on a mission. Hoping to inspire and empower young kids through physical play, the former Jordan Brand designer launched Super Heroic last year. Beyond function, the line of tactical sneakers is designed to encourage kids to head outside, get active and, most importantly, have fun. “It’s not so much about the shoes — it’s about what we hope our young heroes do with them,” Mayden said. “We are passionate about building stronger children and inspiring the next generation of leaders, thinkers and builders.” Here, Mayden talks to Footwear News about the power of play, designing a better kids’ shoe and chasing your dreams. FN: After more than 15 years designing adult shoes, why are you focusing on kids? Jason Mayden: “For far too long, children have been viewed as ‘margin drivers’ by the bigger companies. They are our most precious asset, and they deserve our best. I want to encourage kids to conquer the day through play, [which] I believe is the foundation of performance. To design for children is to promote a proper base of core movements, encourage healthy emotional development and establish social behaviors that lead to future successes such as persistence, goal-setting and conflict resolution. Why I left Mac for Windows: Apple has given up
New Post has been published on https://pressography.org/why-i-left-mac-for-windows-apple-has-given-up/
Why I left Mac for Windows: Apple has given up
This post firstly regarded on Charged. Read the unique submit here.
In case you ask every person who knows me, I’m in all likelihood the largest Apple fan they realize. Ask for an offer of what computer to get, and I’ll almost surely either let you know the MacBook Seasoned or to wait because Apple is set to replace its hardware finally Try Updates.
However lately, I found out I’d gotten tired of Apple’s attitude closer to the computer. The development in MacOS land has basically been lifeless given that Yosemite, years in the past, and Apple’s updates to the platform had been especially small. I’m a developer, and it seems to me Apple doesn’t pay any attention to its software or care approximately the masses of heaps of developers that have embraced the Mac as their go-to platform.
Test Sierra: the only characteristic of notice is Siri, which is half of-baked as it is, and the things that did get ported over from iOS are half of-carried out too. On the developer aspect? Not anything, unless you operate XCode — the equal story it’s been for years.
The handiest cause it’s still even possible as a platform for net developers at all is because of the first rate work the open-source community does On the Mac toolchain (Test how easy it is to apply Node, pm, Yarn or any of the other exceedingly new gear available).
Bloomberg mentioned in late 2016 that Apple had dismantled the Mac team, rolling it into the iOS team, and it suggests. The brand new MacBook Execs, released in late 2016, where interesting, However something of a half-hearted shrug within the path of customers: they’re okay machines, However, they positive aren’t interesting in any respect. Their hardware is underpowered, specializing in thinness and a gimmicky contact bar in place of electricity or capability, the preceding tentpoles of the Mac.
“In every other signal that the agency has prioritized the iPhone, Apple re-organized its software engineering department so there’s now not a dedicated Mac running device team,” Bloomberg said.
To inform the truth, I’m a lifestyles-lengthy Windows consumer that grew to be disillusioned by means of Microsoft after Windows Vista. It turned into obvious the agency had no method or vision, and whilst Home windows 7 smoothed matters over a little, Apple’s side had something I wanted: the entirety labored together nicely.
You could ship iMessages from your computer or smartphone, solution calls anywhere you had been, and throw files to other devices readily — and so I have tempted away in early 2013 whilst Apple released its 2d-era 15″ Retina MacBook Seasoned.
That machine became my first real taste of Apple’s world, and that I cherished it. the whole thing turned into designed nicely and worked nicely together. Apple’s deep roots in Unix supposed I really finally picked up web improvement for the primary time, learned the way to use the terminal deeply, or even gave again to some open-supply tasks.
But, approximately the time I joined Apple’s global, the employer’s interest pivoted. The Mac become no longer critical, as the iPhone, iPad after which the iPad Seasoned have become the point of interest of the agency. The message changed into simple: why do you even need a PC when a pill and phone can do all of it besides?
As an end result, Apple’s focus At the Mac waned: the hardware didn’t get hold of an replace for over 4 years, after which OS X, once often up to date with thrilling functions, now handiest receives the scraps from iOS. If you need to look this in action, take a look at out iMessage on Mac: the flagship characteristic of iOS, iMessage stickers, barely works on Mac.
You began seeing this in almost the entirety: Airdrop, Apple’s lots-touted feature that lets you without difficulty beam files among computer and speaks to was my first flavor of the organisation’s “simply works” mentality — about 30% of the time it worked every time, and the relaxation of the time you couldn’t connect at all. Then there was a handoff, the heralded characteristic that permits you to work on one tool, then seamlessly flow to every other. I don’t recognize if I ever got it to work with any sense of reliability.
Macs for Windows customers In case you’re a Home windows consumer, do not flip the web page.
This isn’t going to be one of those stressful “Gee, isn’t the Mac amazing?” or “Why I chose the Mac over Home windows” articles that Apple lovers have inflicted On the relaxation of the sector for years. I’ve had my fill of those – and they do not get any better, despite the fact that I am a Mac person now.
I am scripting this column for the likes of my colleagues Rome, a protracted-time Home windows consumer who lately bought an iBook, or Connie, who dreams of getting one free from her editor.
Windows customers are exceptional from beginners. Fashioned by means of years of experience, they approach a computer anticipating to do matters in a certain manner. Dissonance sets in once they discover that the not unusual obligations they used to carry out on Home windows are no longer to be had – or, as more likely the case, available through a distinctive set of commands. right here then, is some realistic advice from someone who is been in the trenches.
Delete. The “delete” key on a Mac would not work like its Home windows counterpart. Rather than deleting the man or woman to the right of the cursor and ultimate up to the distance, the Mac delete works like the backspace key. To get Windows-style delete, maintain down the “fn” key earlier than hitting the delete key.
Of Mice and Macs. Apple best recently discovered the gain of a proper mouse button. don’t be concerned. Any vintage USB optical mouse will paintings. I for my part decide upon a great wheel to the little button on Apple’s Effective Mouse. just as in Home windows, you could right-click on on an icon to prompt a context-sensitive menu. On a pocket book touchpad, keep down the “ctrl” key and click on an icon to get the identical effect.
Windows Media Player. Neglect Home windows Media Participant for the Mac. The critiques have been as an alternative horrific. In reality, Forget QuickTime, which might not play AVI or WMV documents, and may not pass full display screen until you upgrade to a paid model. Download VLC Media Participant (http://www.Videolan.Org/), a loose multi-platform software that will do all the above and play DVDs, MP3 and MP4 files besides. For a few reason, VCD playback is uneven, so for that, you can use MPlayer (also unfastened) or QuickTime.
Itunes, ShmyTunes. Many humans swear with the aid of iTunes, However If you do not have an iPod, you’re possibly higher off using VLC Media Participant to play your music. It is less intrusive – it won’t provide to scan your difficult disk for songs, attempt to sell you track, come up with pointless data approximately licensing or consume up more disk space by means of duplicating your songs in its personal directory. It will just play your candy tunes. On an iBook, VLC may also play track louder.
Report institutions. So how do you inform a Mac to constantly use VLC to play your AVI or MP3 files? easy. proper click on any MP3 Document and select “Get Information” from the context menu. in the “Open with” phase, choose VLC Participant. Then click on the Alternate All button to use the identical Report association everywhere else.
Locating stuff. Locating documents At the Mac can be a task If you’re used to Home windows Explorer. Macs have Finder, which has subtle variations. The sidebar on Finder isn’t always the same as the folders view on Explorer, which offers you a hierarchical view of your directory. The top 1/2 of Finder indicates you what drives – which includes the ones on a network – that you may get right of entry to. The bottom half of-of the sidebar incorporates shortcuts to folders and documents you operate regularly. at the same time as you’re still familiarizing yourself with Finder, attempt the use of Spotlight, a powerful seek software that let you find what you need speedy. just click on At the blue and white icon At the top right portion of the display and kind. Focus will quick wager what you want.
Approaches to pores and skin a Mac. With the possible exception of video games, most Home windows XP packages have Mac counterparts. For instance, there may be no Mac version of my favourite BitTorrent purchaser, uTorrent, However a program referred to as Transmission does the equal process thoroughly. There are versions of MS Office for the Mac, of direction, But there is additionally a freeware equal known as NeoOffice. The FTP software I exploit on XP, WS FTP, is not to be had On the Mac, But I have got Cyberduck operating simply best. Immediately messaging? Neglect Yahoo or MSN Messenger and get Adium.

But the Farfetch buying and merchandising director believes women can do a lot more to help one another in a fiercely competitive industry. Here, the e-tail exec shares her insights. What was the biggest breakthrough moment in your career? “Joining Farfetch. Being part of a business that was so revolutionary and led by such an innovative founder [José Neves] was not only the best experience but also the most inspiring for me.” Is there anything you would have done differently? “Not panicking about progressing forward faster as much as I used to and just enjoying the ride more.” Do you think women do enough to support other women in the workplace? “I have been fortunate to have worked for incredibly strong-minded, independent women who have not only supported me but led by example by having other women in executive roles. Having said that, I think there is definitely room to be more supportive toward each other. In the past, I’ve been part of progressive women’s groups, which
