Fundamentally,, I consider Soundwave to be a bird siren with just, a couple more feathers, XD,, like if I saw him chilling on a rock, my initial reaction would be “LOOK AT THAT BIRD!?” as opposed to “LOOK AT THAT FISH!?” 🫵🤨

Background wise Soundwave likes to chill next to the water because it’s easier to blame strange trills and noises on ocean echos or waves to passerby’s, then it is to get the kingdom guard off his back if they had found out about his abilities 📻🥷

I’ve never considered Soundwave to be a knight as he was created long after the initial knights fall, and only gained his Siren-like abilities due to a pledge he vowed to simply the belief of their existence,, [mostly to protect his cassettes <33] He unintentionally lost his sight to Primus in exchange for these cybernetic abilities because of this vow, u-u✨

Speaking of “Cybernetic Advancements” 👏òuo,, Soundwaves siren abilities are [mostly] used in self defense so what’ll happen [more often than not,, *evil snicker*] is that he’ll wait for his subject to wander into his territory, and create a frequency that matches their EM field rate and make subtle shifts that the target feels and reacts to,,

Making them stressed / anxious,, meaning that if they don’t leave immediately, then they’re usually just scared enough to run away screaming if he pops out at them 😤✨

And, why the tfp Soundwave design? 👀?

UHhm,, aesthetics?? Just look at him! Those big metal bits on the tfp design are literally begging to be some funky wings and feathers 👏😂

You knew the whole neighborhood would go all out for the new years, so you invited hobie to come watch the fireworks with you on the rooftop

“Come on bie!” You laughed, exiting your bedroom through the window. You were on the second floor, so it was easier to access the roof from there

“Alright, alright! Wait up will ya?” He chuckled, amused at your excitement as he followed along, exiting through the window as well

Hobie climbed up top on the roof, pulling you up aswell as you sat beside him

“The fireworks are about to start!” You smiled

The fireworks boomed in the sky, vibrant colors painted the sky as they slowly faded away, then more came along in many shapes, some unusual

“Their wonderful, I can see why you like them so much” Hobie smiled while you nodded in agreement

It lasted about almost 4 hours, it was now 12:01 the start of a new year!

I've been reading your fanfics since I was in middle school and I'm in college now, so that's really funny to think about lol.

I know that you've been writing for a really long time and you may have been asked this question before (I promise I tried to scroll through and look for a similar question, but I couldn't, so sorry if you've answered this multiple times before!!), but how do you stay motivated when writing?

I have a few writing projects that I've started on, but have yet to finish or publish because I always find something that could be fixed or changed. And whenever I try to write shorter, one-shot type fics, they end up being longer and I keep adding new ideas to them. But this ask is long enough as is, so I'll stop here.

It’s so emotional for me to hear that my writing is impactful enough for people to keep reading it as they grow up with me 🥲 thank you so much for reaching out 🤧 & no need to apologize as I’m happy to answer any question or chat! I don’t think I’ve gotten this one yet either 😙

The simple answer is: I don’t stay motivated 💀

I have drafts I never go back to or publish. Fics I think about for years and years and suddenly 5 years have passed and I still haven’t finished it. I have plenty of incomplete stories on my page right now; some I still think about wanting to finish, and others that I’ve abandoned and moved on from. People come to ask and even beg me to finish fics, and I wish I could for their and my sakes, but creativity doesn’t come on command no matter how much you want it to. I tire out while writing a chapter and forget to go back for months. Even when I’ve planned out the whole story, I’ll still lose steam when it comes to actually writing it. The main thing is forgiveness; it’s okay.

I’m sure you’ve heard of motivation vs discipline. Nobody is motivated all the time; it’s impossible to be. Now that I’m a working adult I’ve lost the time and energy I used to have, so I end up prioritizing other things—but I’ve never felt the need to quit writing, because I still enjoy the process of it.

When I write fanfic, the goal is always just to have fun. Like you said, I’ve written fics for a long time; my first ever Big Time Rush Logan x OC on Quotev (when it was Quizzaz) was written ~2010. And I still write reader insert romance fics today even after I graduated university and got married 😂 and the only reason I would be able to keep doing something for so long is because I still find it enjoyable to craft stories!

It always helps when I receive reader feedback. I don’t think anybody should write with the main goal of hitting kudos goals or getting clout as it sort of takes the joy away from creation, but that’s my personal belief. Knowing people liked your hard work can make you feel validated and proud; but I think if you’re not proud even if 0 people left a like or comment, then there could be some introspection about why you’re writing something that doesn’t bring you, the author, joy.

It sounds like your concern is less that you have a block in creation and that you feel that it has to be perfect before you can release it for others in the public to read. Every artist feels this way; I myself reread my fics and wish I’d said this, or worded it a different way, added a scene, etc etc. But the base feelings I look for before I’m ready to hit publish:

- am I proud of this?

- did I convey my story meaningfully?

- if it’s a chapter, does it make me feel like I’d like to keep reading? Did it serve the purpose of answering questions posed earlier in the story?

Sometimes the philosophy “fuck it, we ball” and hitting publish without looking back is enough. It’s just a fic; if there’s some spelling errors or it’s boring to some or OOC to others or whatever—it doesn’t spell the end of the world. In fact, noticing flaws means you’re able to recognize areas that you’d like to grow in to become an even better author. The joy of online fanfic is that the genre is so broad and diverse. It’s all subjective. No matter what you put out, somebody’s put out something “better”, and somebody’s put out something “worse”, and people would still disagree in their personal opinions. If nobody read your writing, would you still feel proud reading it? Did you have enough fun writing your story that you’re keen to write the next one?

Sometimes writing and not publishing has value. Sometimes writing and not editing helps spark creativity or gives you a base of a different story. Sometimes dumping the skeleton of a draft in word dumps on a page without going back to edit until you’re done is what you need to complete your product. If your good ideas stay trapped in your head, I think it’s better to have at least the bare minimum down so you have something that you can edit and clean/fluff up to your liking instead of working yourself into circles and not having anything to show for it. A drill to help practice breaking that particular habit is setting timers and not allowing yourself to go back until the timer is over; this can train your brain to work in a continual flow rather than get tripped up and losing steam.

And I think one of the most important things for creators to do is ingest media from other creators. Read other peoples fics; what do you like about them and what might you do differently in your own style? Published books, TV, movies, etc. The more exposure you have, the more ideas you have available to draw from, and the more you can visualize how you want to tell your own story.

Another tip that helps me to achieve that writing flow is to see your fic/writing as visual media. How does your “movie” end? How would people write the synopsis for your “film”? Are these scenes actually necessary or is it awkward and taking up screen time? Might it be better for the scene to be earlier or later to help with the flow of the “movie”?

This in itself was more of a word dump than a concise answer, but I hope it’s helpful at least a little bit to your writing journey. TL;DR… just publish it 😉 if it’s got a beginning, middle, and end, it’s ready. You can always publish a rewrite (I’ve done that before!), so just trust yourself. There isn’t anybody you have to please online in the fanfic world except for yourself 😌

how do you organize 3tan? for me when i’m writing chapters fics each chapter has its own document and then i have one master doc with every chapter in it. this really helps when i can’t remember if reader told namjoon something or not bc i can just search for words i know would be in those scenes.

i would think it would be a little more difficult with your pocket universes as opposed to me writing in chronological order. also maybe you don’t forget shit about your own story like me 💀

i’m also curious about how you keep all your ideas sorted out. like do you use a notion board or something like that?

well. lol. i literally just have one master doc with all the 3tan notes i have, and it's a running doc so if i ever have a thought about the series or something i wanna incorporate, i date it on the doc at the top and write it down. so it's in reverse chronological order when you open it👍

as far as parts, each chapter has its own set of docs: drafts and a final post version. then all the drabbles and slices have their own docs, with all of them in each one.

on notion: i gave it one look and decided it would take up way too much of my time so i didn't even bother DFKSDFH tbh i think i have the plainest setup you can ever imagine. literally just google docs and a dream💀 if i have a new idea, i make a new doc and throw my ideas in it, coming back to it whenever i feel inspired to continue building.

Any kind of farewell. She knows it could be the last, and she hesitates to say goodbye, making any kind of goodbye a small deal at least. A tight hug and some kind words before the person in question leaves. She has to keep herself from panicking sometimes if they're leaving for smth dangerous where the possibility of them not coming back is very real

🔥 fire - do they have any self destructive tendencies? what habits do they have that hinder them from becoming their best self?

She definitely pushes ppl away before they can betray her trust. It's already happened once and everything was torn away from her so cruley. She even tries to push away the other stellaron hunter members, but they know she doesn't fully mean it. They just give her some space until she calms down

🕷️ spider - what is their biggest fear? do they have any irrational / mundane fears?

Her biggest fear is needles. She had seen so many and has many horrible memories with them she can't even look at one w/o starting to panic. Another is losing someone close to her again, she's already lost her mother and doesn't want to lose anyone else

🌙 moon - what is your oc's greatest wish? how far are they willing to go for it?

Her greatest wish is to still have her mother and planet to live on, and she's willing to spend the rest of her lives to save them from the humans and let them but suffer the same fate as her, even though she knows many already have and still are experiencing what she did

💐 bouquet - create a bouqet for them! what do those flowers mean? are any of the flowers their particular favourite?

Blue forget-me-nots, sunflowers and gladiolus flowers fit her well I think, all relating to loyalty, strength and devotion in some way ( tho look up the in-depth meanings if you're curious ^_^ )

3. What fandoms do you write for? literally depends on whatever I'm interested in at the moment. Right now, I go between haikyuu and love in the air. the bulk of my stuff is from high school/early college when i was super into attack on titan and voltron

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

i didn't steal your boyfriend (in fact, i didn't touch him at all): this one is crazy because it's quite literally so stupid LMAO i wrote it when i was 14 and yet it still gets the occasional kudos. madness!!

go ahead and cry little boy: i also think this one is dumb, but i was so committed to it. it's still the longest fic i've ever written and it took a lot out of me. i wrote it between sophomore and junior year of high school and it was a lot. a lot of people over the years have said that they resonated with it, so i keep it up for them even though it kills me inside every time i remember i wrote it lol. i don't think the writing is necessarily bad, but it definitely reads juvenile (which tracks lol). as an adult looking back on it, there's so much i want to change

and i wanna feel it all: my first love in the air phayu/rain fic. this one baffles me too, but more because i literally wrote in maybe an hour or two and a lot of people ended up liking it!

tighter than before, no regrets: another one that i put very little effort into. but i still like this one, it was fun and i don't mind it

me and your boyfriend: this one i'm really proud of actually lol. i got to explore a new relationship dynamic and people were so encouraging. i think it helped me to try new things in fics

5. Do you respond to comments? i try to! i usually reply as they come in so i don't forget. but there are times that i put it off, and then it's been months and it feels like it's too late to respond haha

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? i had to go back and look, but i've written quite a few unrequited love/pining fics (it's my favorite trope), and a few of those ended without the characters getting together/any resolution. i also wrote a few fics about character death so i would count those as well.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? most of them! i'm a sucker for a getting together fic, so that's the majority of my endings.

8. Do you get hate on fics? i haven't in years. maybe since 2014. i guess if people don't like my stuff, they just click off. which is actually nice!

9. Do you write smut? i do! i've been getting more comfortable with it, especially with doing extended scenes or full on pwp

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? no, and i don't think it's something i want to do lol. even when i write something in the spur of the moment, i have a strict sense of the vibe i want to go with and i feel like i'd hold the other person back

What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? a 14k werewolf fic i originally wrote for got7 that will never see the light of day (it's been on my computer since 2018 lmao). my draft literally ends in the middle of a sentence 💀. i want to do SOMETHING with it since it's so long, but i don't know how to write it into something new

15. What are your writing strengths? i've been complimented a lot on how i write emotions, so i'll go with that. some of my favorite fics and books were the kind where you could physically feel the emotions as they're described, so i think i try to emulate that in my own writing

16. What are your writing weaknesses? maybe describing scenery? like if a character is in an apartment or a store or whatever. i just think it's a pain in the ass and i don't care enough to do it lol. but other than that, imposter syndrome and low self-esteem 🤪

17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? i don't care, do what you want. as long as it's accurate and there's a translation for the readers

18. First fandom you wrote for? big time rush LOL. it was 2011, i was in fifth grade, and i just found fanfiction.net. i scrubbed my entire profile so all those fics are gone but yeah. what a time 😂

19. Favorite fic you’ve written? i had to go through my shit and think about it. i can't pick one so i'll give my top three in no particular order

hurricane - this one i liked because i wrote it when i was into writing in short sections. i've since become wordy and expansive, but this was a writing style i picked up that i still really like. and it's a pining fic, so ofc it's one of my favorites lol

hands up on your hips - this was a self-indulgent corruption kink fic that i still feel so strongly about lmao. it was something i really wanted to do and i loved how it came out (also it was a pwp i wrote when i was still unsure of my smut skills so it felt extra rewarding)

a proximity thing - this was a friends to lovers fic that i loved writing because i liked describing how the characters felt something building between them both physically and emotionally. it's a vibe i've since recreated multiple times (for the same pairing too lol) because it's one of my favorite aspects of this trope. building on a familiar dynamic and writing how it's slowly starting to morph into something new is so exciting for me

Do you have all planned out with UY or you just go episode by episode? I'd like to know more about your writing process

Ohhhhh! I love this question!!!

I currently have all the main events of UY planned out, but overall I am going by the Flashlight Method of writing where I write scene by scene. This is because I can only see so far ahead. I had no idea where I was headed at the start of the story, it became more clear by like Chapter 7. I had an idea of how UY would end around Chapter 9 I think?? BUT I had my big AHA moment of all the details of that ending with this latest chapter. Sometimes it be like that. There is no right or wrong way, it works very differently for everyone.

When these moments come to me I write them on the side so I don't forget.

Speaking of writing process, I am drafting Chapter 17 now and I'm like man. If people could see the first draft compared to the final I think they'd be surprised???

My first drafts are incredibly skeletal. 💀💀💀

But once I start them I don't look back. I don't worry about it being perfect or even really making sense. I just keep going until I have the shape of the thing down. In the past, I used to agonize over every sentence before moving to the next one and I never got anything done this way!
