So to recap: I started playing ESO again and immediately got invited to a prog. Invited 3 of my friends too. It quickly became apparent that only 2~ other players weren't actively terrible, and we left about 6 months in. We made our own team and invited those 2.

One of the 2 was new to that team, so we warned her about the issues we had been experiencing. Tanks are terrible, both insist on being DK, Zenkosh is hilariously bad, a DPS insists on being NB, etc. She's a super polite, soft-spoken older lady who had no idea.

First night we're gone the team does fucking terribly. Lady was pointing out mechanics and providing ideas, and when a (bad) DPS was fucking up the new method, the lead WENT OFF on Lady. As soon as they finished, she rushed to our party chat to gossip and talk shit. Even invited her friend (who was one of the replacements) so she knew just what she had gotten herself into.

Something genuinely funny to me is the way that. Okay everything about Haven and Erica is funny to me. but specifically that haven in general is supposed to be being defined by his job, but he hates his job, so in general he's actually defined by the people around him, because there's usually only one of them and he is a ridiculous clingy motherfucker who makes it kind of a chore. And like. I am back-engineering Erica out of a different OC whose literal only position in any kind of narrative was to be a placeholder name somewhere in Haven's history. And like yeah, I did get some of her personality traits and general vibes out of that, but that guy was also defined by knowing Haven, and pretty much nothing else.
