I just played chapter 3 of Deltarune, and I have… thoughts.

Thoughts I can’t share with anyone cause they haven’t played yet.

But I need them out so here: spoilers ahead!

No one suspects Kris of opening the dark fountain huh?

Huh. Usually the save file has Kris’s name before we save in a chapter for the first time.

Ooo! Confirmation that the darkners can’t leave the dark world. Also, an explanation on what a dark world is. Ralsei’s messed up belief system vs Susie’s rebellious nature.

Susie once again proves she is the main character.

Ralsei got a taste of what it’s like being player 1. Then Susie ripped it away from him.

Ocean secrets!!! Man, wish I had Noelle here. She would’ve gotten us into those hidden areas that Tenna rudely tries to keep us from. (How do you destroy that bush!!!)

Tenna why do you keep bring up Kris’s home life. You’re probably hurting their feelings.

Glad Ralsei had fun with the rhythm game, but please keep Susie away from it.

Honestly, I am so glad Toriel is sleeping and barely in the chapter at all. She had her moment in Undertale. Also I called it!!! (Her dark world design is neat. Clearly a call back to her queenly status in Undertale) Tenna, I think this counts as torture. (Spamton you were right, this guy sucks)

I have no idea where the secret boss could be, all I know is the threat of Tenna overshadows them by a lot.

Horse Ralsei.

This about the divorce isn’t it?

Glad the sneaking sections along with the cowboy sections didn’t get scrapped.

Roulxs Card changing the rules of the game in his boss fight?!?!?!! Also Lancer and Roulx bonding?!?!?! Also apparently it was Roulx’s plan all along to get those two back together, by being the worst boyfriend possible.

Everyone is leaving Tenna. He only has himself to blame. Or that Mailman he was talking about. (Roaring Knight or Spamton)??

Why did people start turning to statues, and why was it the chapter 3 guys and not the chapter 1 guys??? What’s with all the snow?!?!? Is it related to Dess’s disappearance?!?!?

Interesting how Dess is the one who disappears first. The order of disappearances might set up a timeline.

Dang, Spamton you stole a lot from Tenna.

✨I hate Tenna’s final attack✨ (it was the reason it took me 3-4 tries to beat him)

Ralsei telling Tenna that it’s his fate to be abandoned and thrown away, really shows Ralsei’s world view on darkners.

Also, glad Ralsei is getting the spotlight this chapter when he was mostly forgotten in chapter 2.

Susie lore!!! (And once again proving she’s the main character)

Glad, that’s all settled. Now let’s close that fountain- and Tenna is dead. Your 3Dness will always be remembered.

NOOOO! I barely survived Tenna and didn’t save!!! (Thank goodness it’s a battle we’re not supposed to win)

I’m sure there’s a peaceful solution- *Ralsei gets murdered* Violence it is.

(alternatively) Susie: We got a kill this guy. Player: Darn.

Susie once again proves she’s the main character.

Undyne!!! Her darkworld outfit is super cool. Also, here to save the day and finally have someone to fight! She also can’t deny dark worlds now!

…Rip Undyne.

The knight is definitely not Papyrus. He wouldn’t do this.

How many times do I have to repeat that Susie is the main character?

Keep in mind, Toriel is still sleeping through all of this. Did Tenna put her under a sleep spell?

So, the bunker is a dark world…

Huh, the theories were right. The whole chapter, (except one small part), was in the dark world.

Okay, Kris may not be the knight, but they’re definitely working for them.

Anyways, this chapter sucks cause there was no Berdly (joking). Going to play chapter 4 tomorrow. Then look up where the secret bosses and eggs are.

This is a list of every new boss darkener in my deltarune chapter 3 take!

I be giving a summary of each of the characters above from left to right, below

Scare E:

Scare E got her name by looking... well, Scary!

She's actually quite polite and well mannered

Her appearance often frightens other darkeners away, makes sense considering she can take off her own head

However Tenna sees her frightening appearance and gives her a great opportunity

She now stars in several dark world horror films

Her light world object is a ripoff lego person

Chefstago:

The fantastic and slightly crazy sous chef

Chefstago snaps if anyone ruins his masterfully made dishes

The other chefs both respect and fear him

He's the only one allowed to make meals for Rook

He once sold 1 thousand cook books in a day

When Spamton was still permitted in the tv world, he tried to make a deal with Chefstago, unfortunately since Chefstago is crazy, he misinterpreted the deal and ended up charging Spamton for 1 thousand cook books

He's a snail because it's a reference to the snail pie in undertale hard mode

His light world object is a cinnamon butterscotch pie

Da Boss:

Da Boss is da boss of da Shadowmen

Da Boss cannot say the word "the" instead he replaces it with "Da"

He isn't very bright

In fact he can be easily tricked

His hat obscures half of his vision but he refuses to fix it since he thinks he looks cool like that

He's trys to be threatening but he fails

His light world object is one of the figures on Toriel's windows

Phanta:

They're a shopkeeper

They tells you where to find the ShadowMantle

They can't take off their mascot costume anymore

They're very disfigured because, along time ago they got into a confrontation with Elephanto because they want to leave which caused a fight between them, Elephanto easily won which left Phanta badly damaged, but don't worry! Elephanto used his string powers to stitch them back up, unfortunately they're now permanently stitched into her suit

...

That got really f#%king dark, didn't it?

There light world object is a broken CD

Elephanto:

I'm sure you got a positive view on him after that last section

Elephanto wasn't always his name, it use to be Filmin

Filmin use to record shots for movies and shows backstage for Tenna

One day Tenna gave him his own chance to shine as the main actor in Elephanto's show

He dressed up as Elephanto and got so much joy from bringing happiness to children across the globe

Until one day colored shows came out and Elephanto's ratings got lower and lower until his show was canceled

After this he started to spiral into madness

He started to believe he was Elephanto and he'd never want to take off his costume

He'd start getting very angry over little things

Eventually at his door a script arrived, he couldn't read the symbols but once he looked inside it, it sent him over the point of no return

He refused to let any of his actors leave the show or take their costumes off

He blocked off the outside world from entering or exiting

And he obsessed over putting on a show so good that'd "BREAK-THE-4TH-WALL!" once and for all

He had almost given up on this until he saw an old friend of his, Kris

Elephanto is the secret boss of my chapter 3 take

He uses the purple soul

He's hesitant to hurt kris in his 2 battles, even throwing in healing bullets in his 1st fight

In both his fights he will not kill you, if your health's low enough in the 1st fight the battle will end and in his second fight he'll always only go after kris once susie and ralsei are down, ending the fight if they're down and kris is at low enough hp, however you don't win it just puts you back to the previous room and restarts the fight when you walk back in

He can only see in black and white

His light world object is a nanny cam

Mike:

Mike is a master of disguise

He use to happily work for Tenna until Rook showed up and took over

He's trying to take down Rook for good

He was once best friends with spamton he even convinced Tenna to let him do tv commercials

Mike would contact spamton everyday to help him until Rook showed up which lead to Mike going into hiding

Tenna thinks Rook killed Mike because he hasn't see him in ages

Mike just wants to have his old happy life back

He help the party out a lot in the chapter

In the light world he's a microphone

Tenna:

The host of the tv world!

Tenna is very charismatic on stage and very fatherly off stage

He gets into arguments with toriel because he believes he raised kris better than her or asgore

His staff can't talk, it can only play sound effects

He tries to be as nice and kind as he can be to kris and the others but unfortunately, The evil Rook can control his mind as he hides behind the scenes

The main plot of chapter 3 is to seal the fountain and free tenna from rook

Tenna will often give the party free items as gifts just because he can

He casts Kris as the hero in a lot of shows throughout the chapter because he genuinely wants kris to be successful

He didn't want to kick spamton out of the tv world but Rook forced him to, making him look like the bad guy in spamton's eyes

In the light world he's a TV

Rook:

Rook hides behind his henchmen

He's a genuine scumbag

He uses his power over Tenna to get whatever he wants

Everyone's afraid to stand up to him because everyone who does "disappears"

And by disappears I mean gets put in a jail cell but Rook makes it sound like he kills them

Rook is the main antagonist of the chapter

He's only seen at the very end kinda like King

In the light world he's a remote

Perfect Rook:

After beating Rook he has one more trick up his sleeve

He transforms into Perfect Rook by merging with Tenna

Mike brings out a mech suit he's been saving for when he goes after Rook and gives it to Kris to help with the battle

You fight Perfect Rook in a Street fighter/ mortal kombat styled section with every attack feeling like a different anime reference

After you beat him, you free Tenna from his control once and for all and lock up Rook with King in the castle town jail

This is the final boss of the chapter

Oh my god this took like 40 minutes to write I'm so damn tried and i still have 4 more chapters of these to do.

Before I sleep, I got a lot of Deltarune thoughts I need to get out. Spoilers for Chapters 3 and 4!

So Gerson is here... are the spirits just around in the dark world or something?? Or is he somehow not dead? Either way glad to see him, but apparently Kris didn't know him before he passed.

So before I thought that it was possible that Kris would be revealed to be the Knight but now definitely not. Pretty sure it's Carol, but we'll see

Because if not then What The Fuck is up with Carol???

Poor Kris.

We got way more references to Dess in both 3 and 4 than I thought we'd get so far.

What the fuck happened with Kris at the bunker???

Both in the past and the end of chpt 3????

So I need to go back and do the minigames when I replay 3 but I did go through the Mike room when I got to the castle town in 4. So I guess Mike isn't the chapter 3 secret boss. This is how Woody Theory can still win.

I was legit surprised by how abrupt the c3 ending was. So glad that we didn't have yo wait for 4 after that.

But what was up with the opening scene of 4? A memory dream of them closing the fountain?

Loved the stuff w Kris and Susie hanging out in the beginning of c4

It was crazy hearing Kris play the piano while they had their soul out. And I was briefly stunned when Noelle mentioned how they pretended to rip their heart out when playing with her as kids. Curious about them not playing piano well while we play as them. Is it a defiant choice or are they literally unable to? And now we can control their playing for puzzles in the church dark world so...?

Who were they talking to? The Knight? Or was it *him*?

Curious about Asgore. If there were hints to him being the cleaner for the Holidays I didn't pick up on it. And it sounds like there's something else goin on w him too.

I was very excited when they brought Tenna to the Mettaton ghost, and he had that line about the music videos awakening something in him.

So it seems like Ralsei's having an arc. With Susie talking about how Darkners shouldn't be forgotten, the scenes in the castle, then the line to Susie after healing Kris.

The music has been fucking amazing as always

Loving all the designs amd art. It all looks so good!

Love the humor. Nothing hits quite like it. Even the stupidest stuff I find absolutely hilarious. The tone,.timing, 'delivery' - magnifique

Anyways I love this game so much. Definitely top 10 probably top 5. Who knows, when it's done it could even be my all-time favorite game. It certainly has that potential. (If woody theory is real im giving it every game of the year award)

Fan idea of how Ch. 3 starts up in the TV studio Rook (the main antagonist in this version) has.

Actups (act up) are the main inhabitants of the studios, acting as backup/background/secondary actors and participants. Since Toriels locked in an endless loop of competing and winning a baking show with the Cookup variants, Susie is stuck as a kaiju attacking a Lilliput city, and Undyne (who intros the chapter and stumbles into things) is caught in a wild west show set up and dealing with Holdups, This Actup takes on her role in a sitcom featuring only her and Kris.

She's new, so her acting is a little bad, her costume is unconvincing (looks even worse with the magic cameras off) and while either way you can escape the scenario by playing alongin different ways, being defiant has her unintentionally reenacting a conversation with Asriel before he left for college, with her acting being genuine reactions while trying not to break the script
