Today was supposed to be the day. I had everything planned out, to the last minute detail. This day was supposed to be perfect. We would meet up at the park we used to play in. we would then go watch the remake of the first Magical Astra movie as it used to be our favourite movie. then we’d stop by my place to play some Extreme Fam Bash before eating at the restaurant near our old school. But of course, after ten minutes waiting on a bench, a call. “Sorry, the meal I ate yesterday didn't sit right with me, I won't be able to come.. Let’s do this another time, OK?”

despair. rage. disgust. sadness. the perfect day meeting with an old friend that i hadn't seen in almost half of my life was ruined. Just like that. welp, fun's already dead and buried at this point, guess I'll try and at least be productive! that'll show 'em!

Heading home with newfound.. determination? Spite? I didn't know which one exactly, but with at least one of them, I found myself in front of an arcade. Thinking about how weird it was that i had never noticed it, and that it hadn't closed down yet, I let curiosity -and nostalgia- get the best of me. inside were a crane game, an old Sing Sing Revolt! cabinet and a few racing games, as well as a gashapon that seemed to have figurines from a show i used to watch as a kid but couldn't remember the name of. nobody was at the counter, as if i wasn't supposed to be there, as if it was already past closing time, when it was only 3 PM.

Suddenly, one of the plushies in the crane game caught my attention. it looked like a pastel blue frog, with what seemed like cat eyes and whiskers, and wings of uneven size. it was.. kind of endearing in a weird way? like how you see a caterpillar eating a leaf and can't help but tell it “you can do it, little guy!”

I decided to get it, hoping my crane machine skills weren't too rusty after at least half a decade of not exercising them, and managed to make it mine in only three tries. Looking at it from up close and holding it in my own hands, it looked surprisingly well made. No sign of stitches, the fabric felt really high quality (and really fluffy!) and the stuffing used made it really squishable. I really didn't understand how such a high quality plushie ended up in a crane game instead of directly for sale.

Well, that wasn't my problem, and i really was lucky it got there so i could get it. it seemed like everything else needed arcade specific tokens to play, so i went straight to my place. I reheated some leftover pizza in the microwave, sat in front of the TV then turned it on.

“Yeeyup, that's enough of that for today. Man I’m so tired.. so much for being productive,” I thought to myself, “I’ll just go to bed early. Studies can wait.” I fell asleep around 5PM, and woke up at 6, more than half a day later, even though my phone was in another room, and I always sleep through it anyway. I made myself a hot chocolate, grabbed a banana, and sat on the couch next to the plushie. I enjoyed my breakfast before putting my laptop in my courier bag and- crap! my teeth! I hurried in the bathroom to clean them before heading out. before closing the door, I said: “have a nice day!”, just to... talk to the plushie, I guess? Hey, don't judge me, I’m sure you’ve done something like this before! I hear a faint voice telling me to the same.. NOOOOOOO, someone heard me! this is so embarrassing, I wanna go straight to bed and not leave it for at least two years!

I -for once- caught my bus and arrived at my college on time. The class started; I had had 13 hours of sleep yesterday, I'd keep awake for all the lesson! I could do it! I just had to keep focused and I wouldn't... fall asleep... in class... just... focus...

I understand that sentiment towards burnout. It's part of why I left for a year. Even now, I don't know if I have much interest in Genshin outside of Capitano. That's why I'm trying to get through my inbox as fast as possible so hopefully, I can start on something else. Clear room, clear mind.

I have heard of that game! It's a funny story actually. I had an animated ad trailer for Nu Carnival Bliss and thought it was fairly pretty. So I decided to install it on my phone only to find my MC getting his dick sucked during the first chapter. There isn't anything wrong with that, I just wasn't expecting it since it was on the Google Play store. But I was intrigued because I don't usually see these ero games marketed towards a general audience. But from that discovery, I saw "What the hell is bad" was also a popular game on erolabs. I was tempted to try it out but was busy, so I brushed it aside. Perhaps I should check it out now?

On the other hand, I have played "A Date with Death". I had a brief indie/itch io phase and played through many of the visual novels/games developers posted. I don't remember the names of all of them, but I played a good chunk. But I really enjoyed that game, death was very cute. I'm currently playing Dead Plate, perhaps you've heard of it? I think there's a strong community around that game, at least from the art I've seen.

'Who knew it would all come down to something as simple as a game of catch – with not one, but two Doctors – just moments after a not-to-be-forgotten homicidal dance montage to 'Spice Up Your Life'?

After three anniversary specials that placed us firmly and blissfully in the crosshairs of a nostalgia play, the moment we had all been waiting for, when David Tennant would sunbeam into Ncuti Gatwa, arrived. Albeit 20 minutes earlier than anticipated and bearing a new piece of Doctor Who lore which will irrevocably alter the show.

Instead of morphing into the Fifteenth Doctor, the Fourteenth essentially birthed him, atop a helipad with Neil Patrick Harris's devious Toymaker looking on with a smirk full of too many teeth. Here, Russell T Davies introduced the fresh concept of "bigeneration" into the Whoniverse.

Davies has already teased the ripple effects this will have on the show as a whole, explaining this moment has bigenerated the entire lineage, so every previous Doctor is now wandering out there somewhere in the time vortex.

"I think all of the Doctors came back to life with their individual TARDISs, the gift of the Toymaker, and they're all out there travelling round in what I'm calling a Doctorverse," he said in the episode's commentary. We'll pause here for a moment to try and process what that might mean.

Aside from the new mythos of the moment, once we could bathe in Tennant and Gatwa's magnetic chemistry, the bigeneration began to feel like a natural progression, gifting Davies the elbow room to usher in the Fifteenth Doctor with a fresh slate.

'The Day of the Doctor' told us that the Tenth was "the man who regrets", while Matt Smith's Eleventh Doctor was "the man who forgets" and even though we can see differences in Tennant's two Time Lord iterations, he was still just as introspective this time around.

Throughout the three 60th specials, we saw pained flickers of the Doctor agonising over his recent history, whether it be The Flux or the demise of a string of companions. But while Donna (Catherine Tate) tried to probe what had happened, the appearance of Mad Aunty Mel (Bonnie Langford) touched on how the Doctor's companions only ever see a brief sliver of the Time Lord's life and might then never be mentioned again.

If the three episodes, traversing from Earth to the edge of the universe and back, were all in search of closure, it seems the Fourteenth Doctor got that from a warm embrace with the Fifteenth Doctor. It was only his own self who could truly understand what it is to be the Doctor and to have lived his many, varied lives.

Like Buffy the Vampire Slayer's finale expansion of Slayerdom beyond the lonely life of the Chosen One, having another person to share that burden with transforms Fourteen into someone who can now have the one adventure he told Rose he would never be able to: live a life day after day, with the Noble-Temples.

The decision to bring Tennant back allowed a shift from a Doctor who said he didn't want to leave when he regenerated as the Tenth, to one who said it was time moments before he bigenerated. It was an opportunity to find closure for the man who has regrets and to tend to a number of the defining wounds of his recent life.

Beyond that, it seems a logical step to tie up the big, unwieldy storylines from previous seasons, to create a fresh slate for Gatwa to make his own mark unburdened by the trauma of the Doctor's recent past.

This is not to say that regenerating – or even bigenerating – is like downloading a new iOS system and jettisoning all that has gone before. But going by the episode labels on iPlayer, which has separated this new era out into its own bundle from 2023 onwards, Gatwa's Doctor is going to be a reset of sorts.

You might have now wrapped your head around that new lore, so we can start to hypothesise about how this major bisecting of the Time Lord timeline could result in some familiar faces strolling back onto our screens one day not too far from now.

But it also ushers in a new Doctor Who jumping-off point for Gatwa's Doctor, Ruby (Millie Gibson) and the brand spanking new accessible TARDIS.'

It is flexible enough to accommodate sudden changes, plus fluctuating energy levels, states of concentration, symptoms and moods.

Daily tasks are not over-whelming; they are small enough that they are achievable.

Steps to create your schedule

Decide if you want your planner to be paper or digital

Find an “order” that’s logical and achievable for you (more on this later)

Refer to your addendum/syllabus and write down all the assignments, tests and other events taking place that week/month (and their due-dates).

Then break these down, assigning tasks to each day of the week (more on this later).

Break down your tasks even further (more on this later).

Decide if you want to follow a simple daily to-do list or a timed schedule (more on this later).

Find your “order(s)”

Mandatory: Schedule assignments around other commitments (work, social, hobbies, etc.).

Do the hardest task first to get it out of the way (so that the rest of your tasks are less daunting, and because your smaller tasks require less energy therefore can be done even after completing the hard task).

Do the easiest task first to build momentum (give yourself a feeling of accomplishment which will motivate you to continue, and boost your self-confidence early in the day to establish a positive mindset for the rest of the day).

Do the task that’s due first to minimize deadline stress, and so your assignments don’t fall through the cracks (causing you to get discouraged and lose momentum).

Plan according to your energy level throughout the day and week: Do you have Pilates once a week? Maybe you can reserve that day for easier assignments. If you know you’re going to be tired for whatever reason, account for that in your planning.

Consider your state of concentration: If you know you’re too groggy or spaced out for the first hour of your day, you can either schedule easy tasks in that time, or none at all. If you take a medication in the afternoon/evening that makes you tired, schedule easier tasks or none, and get harder tasks done earlier/later in the day. If you have ADHD and crowded places mess with your concentration, but you like studying at a café, go when it’s not busy.

Be mindful of your emotions and symptoms: If you have depression, or are prone to depressive episodes, you’ll need to consider that when scheduling. You might have to rework your entire schedule when you get into a depressive episode (like adding lots of breaks). If suddenly you’re going through a big life event (like a breakup), you need to account for that when scheduling. For instance, if you can’t stand to be alone, maybe you can go out instead of staying in, and if your motivation is low, you may need to up your reward-system or break down your tasks even more.

Break down this week/month’s tasks

Refer to your addendum/syllabus and write down all your due dates for the time period you’re scheduling for.

Based on due dates, outside commitments, predictions of energy/mood/symptoms, assign assignments to the days of the week/month that make most sense for you.

Break down daily tasks into sub-tasks

You can do this (in advance) for your full week/month’s assignments, or do it every morning/evening.

Generally, your assignments will follow a variation of this formula: brainstorm, create an outline, research, write rough draft, edit and revise. Test/exam prep will look something like: check to see what the test is based on, pinpoint important sections, review to see how well you know the material, create a list of items to study, rewrite select notes, make flash cards, study topic 1, study topic 2, etc.

What are the individual components of these steps? Here are some examples. Brainstorm: what should my topic be, what should my thesis be, what points can support my thesis, what do I need to research, what questions do I need to ask my prof? Outline: topic, thesis, points, conclusion. Research: write down all the important parts from each source (separately), then sift through to sort into Supporting Point 1, Supporting Point 2, etc. Rough draft: opening statement(s), intro, point 1, point 2, etc., conclusion, closing statement(s). Edit/revise: read and check for grammar only, then read again and check for spelling only, read again and check for cohesiveness only, etc. Topic 1: Part A, Part B, etc.

Each of these small components can be individual items on your to-do list. Big tasks like, “write essay” are too big for most people. Even “write rough draft” is daunting. If you start with something specific and small like brainstorming, and work your way up, it’s a lot easier to approach. Plus, being able to check off tasks more often and more easily will boost your confidence and your sense of competence, thus building momentum.

Here is a sample to-do list: Research X for Point 1 of Literary Essay, create outline for History Essay, Edit/Revise Assignment 1, study Topic 1 and Topic 2 for Test 1.

To-do list or time-based schedule?

To do list: Write down all your assignments for the day. Put them in the order you want to do them, or go through them intuitively (based on what you feel like doing, or what’s most practical at the time/place you’re at).

Timed-based: Write down all your assignments, then write down the time you’re going to do each of them. You could set reminders or alarms if you want, or simply refer to the list. There’s an awesome app I recommend if this is your thing. It’s called Structured (iOS only).

Curate your study environment for maximum focus

Eliminate distractions such as uncomfortable clothing, sounds (or silence), phone and computer notifications, clutter in the room and on your desk, people who may try to talk to you (shut your door and/or inform them that you’re busy).

Designate a space to doing homework only and avoid spaces that you associate with other things (do not study in bed, as you will want to relax or sleep, and/or you will mess with your sleep by weakening the bed’s association with sleep).

Build associations: Incorporate other events and items into your study/homework routine that you only use while doing that, so that you associate those things with studying/homework (examples: specific playlists, pencils/pens, cups/bottles, scents, rituals, decor, etc.).

Ensure good lighting (preferably including daylight).

Get dressed in clothes that make you feel good about yourself. They don’t have to be “professional” and they should definitely be comfortable. Do not stay in your pyjamas. Believe me, I know this can be hard, and I love PJ’s. But they are not good for productivity.

Don’t “multi-task.” It may feel like you’re getting more done this way, but by splitting your focus, not only do tasks take longer, they also diminish in quality. Commit to the task you’re doing.

Meditate: You can even meditate for just 1-5 mins right before studying, homework and/or classes.

Practice self care (daily!)

Sleep (enough, well, and regularly).

Daylight: Get outside, work by windows, use a light therapy box. These can help regulate your sleep, improve and maintain mental health, and boost energy.

Fresh air: Getting outside even for a couple minutes can help you refresh and reset, and feel good about yourself and your life. Fresh oxygen can help you wake up and is great for your health. Even just opening your window can do a lot for your mood, energy and motivation.

Movement: Try to move at least once per day. The benefits of exercise are numerous and immense.

Healthy and consistent eating: Avoid spikes in insulin levels by eating regularly so you don’t have extreme dips in your energy level. Also, brain power uses calories too, so make sure you’re eating consistently, and try to eat healthy. There are so many other reasons eating consistently is good for your health (and by extension, your productivity).

Relaxation and leisure: Make time for fun and socializing, as well as intentional relaxation. Hobbies, movies/tv, time with friends/family, meditation, baths, progressive muscle relaxation, etc.

Therapy: Your therapy sessions are not daily, but you can do 5 minutes of inner-work per day based on what you and your therapist are currently working on. Working with a therapist is a great way to stay on track with your goals, and develop the skills and positive mindset required for success in school.

Reward yourself

Track progress: Reflect on all the assignments you’ve completed and your grades to remind yourself that you’re capable!

Completing to-do lists daily maintains a sense of accomplishment which keeps your momentum going. Check those items off! Or give yourself gold stars! ⭐️

Treat yourself with non-food rewards: Tie completed school work with fun tasks like video games, or take yourself out for coffee, or some other small (non-food) outing. What I’m trying to do right now is not do my leisure activities until my daily tasks are done.

Develop a positive mindset

Take promises you make to yourself seriously. The more you break promises to yourself, the easier it will get to continue breaking promises. You will lose respect for yourself which lowers motivation, and you will lose trust in yourself which can become debilitating as well. The more you keep promises, the easier it will get, the more motivated you’ll become, and the more you’ll trust and respect yourself. Your confidence will improve, and you’ll feel better about yourself. Productivity is choosing yourself. Discipline is choosing what’s best for you instead of what you feel like doing in the moment. Discipline is a muscle, and like any muscle, it can be strengthened, and it can atrophy.

Remember your “why.” What is the end goal of being in school? What’s your career path, and why did you choose it? What will your life be like when you have that career? What would your life be like if you gave up and didn’t make it to your goal? Aiming for your dream while running from your nightmare is a great strategy for maintaining motivation. Lighting a fire under your *** can be a huge motivator.

Remember how good you feel when you get schoolwork done, and let this motivate you to stay consistent. You can also remember how you feel when you don’t get work done, but definitely focus more on the positive!

Go to therapy and/or hire a coach. There are SO many benefits to therapy and I’d honestly need a whole other post to get into it. You don’t need to be depressed or mentally ill at all in order to benefit from talking to a therapist. They can even help you with time management, procrastination, motivation and more! If you can afford it, please do it. It’s such a worthwhile investment.

Be consistent

No “zero days.” Do at least a bit of homework or studying every day so you don’t slip into vacation mode. Make schoolwork a daily part of your life, so it just becomes the norm.

Build productivity momentum (track progress, check items off your to-do list daily, treat yourself, keep promises to yourself, remember your “why,” remember how success feels).

Stay on top of projects. Your assignments are made up of smaller tasks you assign yourself across time. “Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out.” - Robert Collier

Avoid burnout (more on this later).

Keep it interesting (more on this later).

Self-care: shower and/or bathe regularly, maintain proper sleep habits, stay hydrated, take care of your skin, do relaxation activities like meditation and reading, do fun activities, pamper yourself every now and then with face masks or foot baths, take your meds as prescribed, eat well and regularly, get outside often, move daily, etc.

Break up study/homework sessions into small, manageable chunks of time, with constructive (refreshing) breaks in between.

Break assignments down into even smaller tasks so that you aren’t over-working yourself during the course of a day, and so that you don’t overwhelm yourself (the stress can lead to burnout).

School-life balance: Keep up with your social life as best as you can, make time for your hobbies, maintain self-care, say no to things that don’t serve you, etc. Try to follow through with scheduled schoolwork 100% of the time, but know that you won’t. Sometimes you’ll need to prioritize mental health over schoolwork (be careful though, this is a very fine line, and a slippery slope). Sometimes things will come up and it’ll be out of your control. But more than anything else, there will be times when you just decide to prioritize something else like fun and socializing over schoolwork. This is why your schedule needs to be flexible: to accommodate sudden invites to hang out and random decisions to skip a homework/study session, but more importantly, flexibility will reduce the odds that you’ll skip in the first place. If your schedule includes hobbies and socializing, and anything else that’s important to you, then you won’t feel deprived. If you have school-life balance, you’ll have more of yourself to devote to schoolwork when it’s time to.

Keep it interesting

Romanticize your life by putting effort into making all of your daily tasks a special occasion.

Make meals and drinks special by using your favourite dinnerware and cutlery. Perhaps even incorporate extra elements such as: a beautiful tablecloth, napkins, candles and/or dim lighting, music, wearing your favourite clothing, etc.

Pretend you’re the main character in a movie about a successful, productive student (because you are the main character in your life).

Make games out of studying if this is something that interests you (the Forest app comes to mind).

Use lots of colours in your notes and buy colourful stationary! 🌈

Vary your approach/methods if needed to avoid boredom.

Study with friends (online or in person).

Reward yourself often.

Remember your “why.”

Glitch deep-dive: Hotel boss gate skip

On Jan 15th 2023 a new user, thezorazora, joined the Analgesic Productions discord and shared a very intriguing twitch clip of them playing Anodyne(2013)'s iOS version and clipping past the gates blocking access to the boss.

Normally to get to the boss of this dungeon, you'd have to explore across all four floors to get to both sides of the lower floor and disable the two sets of gates in that room.

All you need to trigger this glitch is to take the elevator from floor 3 to floor 1 when both sets of gates are still up, and a bit of luck(as I'll explain later in this post). If it fails, just take the elevator back up to floor 3 and try again. Success rate is about 50%, even with frame-precise inputs.

Deep dive on how exactly it works under the cut!

So, what's actually happening here, and why does it only happen 50% of the time?

The short answer to what's happening is that Young is colliding with the gates in front of the boss room and they push Young out of their hitbox.

But this is supposed to be where the player gets teleported to, so how is that in any way colliding with the gates?

The answer lies in exactly how collision gets calculated in Anodyne's engine, Flixel.

All entities not only keep their position, but also their last position. This allows for Flixel to do collision resolution on fast-moving objects, with their effective hitbox being the whole rectangle spanning both positions. The last position gets set to the current position at the start of each entity's update call, and movement is done at the end of that. In-between, entities set their velocity and other physics variables, and that way every frame, the last and current position are correct.

When the player gets warped across the map, however, a few things happen:

Entities on the current screen get unloaded

Player position(but not last position) get set to the warp point

Entities on the new screen get loaded

Game update stops without running an update call on all entities

An interesting thing happens when you warp from floor 3 to floor 1: the apparent hitbox of the player gets incredibly large, and, more importantly, intersects with the gates on the new screen:

The very next frame, if the gates' updates run first(before the player's update, which would correct this hitbox by setting the last position), they check collision with the player and this absolute unit of a hitbox is what they see. This then triggers the glitch.

Note the "if the gates' updates run first", because that shouldn't happen according to the explanation thus far. In step 3 above, the gates get added to the list of entities, which at that point only has the player in it. That means they go after the player in the update order.

Fortunately(for us, not the game), there is another part of the game that messes with the order of entities: the draw function. When a draw call happens, the entities get sorted by their "lower y" position(ie: the position at the bottom of their hitbox), top to bottom, to get the layering right when entities visually overlap. For some more reasons, this value doesn't get updated for the player until its update runs.

As the player's y bottom value is still that of before the warp, they are way below the gates, so they get put after the gates in the draw(and update) order.

Then the next update call happens, the gates update first, and see the enormous hitbox, etc etc.

So if it's this simple to trigger, why is it so inconsistent?

That's because while Flash can only draw at 30 frames per second, Anodyne's updates try to run at 60. So for every draw call, there is about 2 update calls(there is some random jitter bc of performance varying across frames, sometimes there's 3 update calls).

This makes it essentially random whether there will be a draw call in-between the update call that performs the warp and the next. With no way to make sure the update and draw calls line up perfectly at that moment, it's going to stay about a 50/50 shot at landing the glitch. Luckily it's only a few seconds to retry, with a large amount of time skipped not doing the rest of the dungeon.

Haha, you said among us, just like the 2018 online multiplayer social deduction game developed and published by American game studio Innersloth. The game was inspired by the party game Mafia and the science fiction horror film The Thing. The game allows for cross-platform play, first being released on iOS and Android devices in June 2018 and on Windows later that year in November. The game was then ported to the Nintendo Switch in December 2020, and on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in December 2021. While the game was initially released in 2018 to little mainstream attention, it received a massive influx of popularity in 2020 due to many well-known Twitch streamers and YouTubers playing it.

Among Us takes place in a space-themed setting where players look like colorful armless cartoon astronauts; however, since the release of "The Skeld" spaceship, three other maps have been added in later years: the skyscraper "MIRA HQ", the "Polus" planetary station, and "The Airship" (based on Infiltrating the Airship from the Henry Stickmin series, also developed by Innersloth). Each player takes on one of two roles—most are Crewmates, but a small number play Impostors—which does not alter their appearance. The goal of the Crewmates is to either identify and vote out the Impostors, or to complete all the tasks around the map; the goal of the Impostors is to covertly sabotage the mission either by killing the Crewmates before they complete all their tasks or by triggering a disaster that cannot be resolved.

Among Us is a multiplayer game for four to fifteen players (previously four to ten players), although recommended for at least five. Up to three players are randomly and secretly chosen to be the Impostor(s) each round. As of 2021, a round can take place on one of four maps: a spaceship called "The Skeld"; a headquarters building called "MIRA HQ"; a planet base called "Polus"; or an airship based on Innersloth's Henry Stickmin series called "The Airship".

The Impostor(s) win(s) one of two ways: either by killing most of the crew (to the point that they're equal in number) or by sabotaging a critical system on the map (provided the Crewmates don't resolve it in time). The Crewmates likewise can win one of two ways: either by completing all tasks or by identifying and ejecting all Impostors. Games can also end by players quitting the match if doing so fulfills any win condition (if a Crewmate quits the game, their tasks are automatically considered completed).

At the start of the game, Crewmates are assigned "tasks" to complete around the map (in the form of minigames, minipuzzles, and simple toggles), mostly consisting of maintenance work on vital systems such as fixing wires and downloading data. Impostors are given a fake list of suggested tasks to blend in with Crewmates. However, they cannot legitimately perform tasks and can only pretend to be doing any of the tasks on the ship. Impostors, however, can sabotage vital systems (such as The Skeld's oxygen supply), close the doors to rooms, quickly and covertly travel through the ventilation system (commonly referred to as "venting"), and kill Crewmates when standing near them. To help the Crewmates identify Impostors, there are various surveillance systems on each map, such as security cameras and an admin system on The Skeld, a doorlog system with sensors in MIRA HQ, and a vitals indicator in Polus. Crewmates may also confirm their identity through "visual tasks" (tasks that have animations which play for other players), which cannot be faked by Impostors.

If a Crewmate is killed or any player is voted out and ejected, they become a ghost. Ghosts can pass through walls, watch other players' activities, and see and chat with other ghosts. Living players have a limited cone of vision; ghosts do not. Moreover, ghosts cannot communicate with living players or be seen by them. Ghosts help their living teammates by completing their tasks (as a Crewmate) or performing various acts of sabotage (as an Impostor).

Any living player may call a group meeting by reporting a dead body, or by pressing the Emergency Meeting button on the map at any time (except during major sabotages, when Emergency Meetings cannot be called, but dead bodies can still be reported). During a meeting, players discuss who they believe is an Impostor based on the available evidence. Impostors can be identified beyond all reasonable doubt if they are seen venting or killing. A player may be suspected for many other reasons though. However, all the players form a sort of jury and must weigh the veracity or value of each other's statements and questions during the meeting. A plurality vote is held, and if a plurality is obtained, the player whom the most crewmates voted is ejected from the map and they become a ghost, unless the majority of the crewmates choose to skip vote or there is a tie vote. Players can communicate in a built-in text chat (with some predefined phrases for phone users), but only during meetings, and only if they are alive (though ghosts can speak with one another at any time)

I started collecting keys, and got the clues "a veil of smoke", "through which I dance", "finest red in hand", "I am she, who's", so after those I found the right admirer for Lust.

Gotta say, having 47 play Cupid is a surprising take on this. Why does he care about getting people together? Lust calls 47 "Eros", the Greek god of love and sex (or, more precisely says Wikipedia, the god of passionate and physical desire).

Lust does say that people want trust, power, love, without earning it. And these are 47's thoughts, so...... Does this mean he believes humans need others, even him? To have that human connection, earned? If not, he's thinking about it.

“Come on, Peter.” You sigh out, turning around to face him. He was hunched into himself, a nervous expression on his face as he takes in the unfamiliar environment. “Relax a bit, one night of fun won’t hurt you.”

You shake your head at him, resting your hands on his shoulders to cut off the rambling before he gets the chance to start it. The brunette freezes on the spot, staring back at you with his eyes wide and his mouth open, “No, this guy’s dad hates our Spider-friend, not you.” You correct, “All they know is we’re two completely normal teenagers who don’t have superhero alter-egos attending a completely normal high school party.”

Peter lets out a sigh and nods, his body visibly relaxing at your words. A smile appears on your face at the action. “Now,” You pull your hands away and start leading him down the hallway, “let’s see if our friend’s spidey senses will win us a game of beer pong.” You suggest with a mischievous glint in your eyes.

As the night went on, the group of teenagers migrated to the basement of the home. The nicely decorated family room was transformed into a mini dance club; the couches were pushed against the wall, the table that once held endless files of documents was covered by varieties of alcohol, and the surround sound was blasting Mr. Brightside for the fifth time that night.

The bodies bumping against each other go unnoticed as you scream the chorus with your classmates. You don’t even notice your beverage being splashed onto you every time you jumped. Your mind was empty, only fuzzy thoughts bounced around as all your worries disappeared with every sip of Budlight you took.

“(Y/N), (Y/N)!” You barely hear your name being called until someone appears in front of you. Their hand grabs your arm, trying to ground you back into reality. You blink your eyes, trying to get rid of the black spots that dance around your vision before you focus on the person.

“Oh, hi Petey!” You let out a giggle, finally recognizing the brunette. His worried expression goes completely over your head as you stare back at him. His mouth moves but you can’t hear anything come out. You squint your eyes and try to read his lips but all you can make out through your hazy state is;

“Something… something… Mr. Stark.”

Your ears perk up at the mention of your boss. Furrowing your eyebrows, you try to piece together why he was bringing the old man up. That guy was a buzz kill, always dragging you off to last-minute missions and taking up all your free time. “The price you have to pay to be a hero”, his words echo through your head.

Now appalled at the idea of the man ruining the one night you’ve gotten off in months, you shout out the first thing that comes to mind. “Yo, fuck Iron Man!” You scream out with the confidence of someone who wasn’t grateful for the hero to take them in and give them everything they asked for.

It’s as if the music has stopped and everyone had heard you. From a distance, you can hear someone echo your words. Then, it was like the group has come to an unspoken agreement, everyone starts yelling “Fuck Iron Man!” at the top of their little underage lungs.

A sense of gratification washes over you, proud that you started such a strong movement in the basement of drunk teenagers. Peter’s eyes widen as he watches you make your way over to the coffee table in the front of the room.

You stand with your back straight, fist raised in the air while the other holds a red plastic cup. You lead your new militia, chanting “Fuck Iron Man” with your full chest. Not even noticing the music has indeed stopped and people’s focus has shifted to the staircase.

Thinking they were waiting for you to say some choice words, you start your heartfelt speech. “For months, I’ve been holed up in the tower, doing Tony Stark’s dirty work! (L/N) do this, (L/N) do that, (L/N) have you completed your twenty missing assignments. No, I have a life! I’m still young! The old man has me on a leash, now look at me now, Tin-Can! I’m livin’ the dream!”

No one responds which causes your shoulders to drop. You were expecting cheers of agreement and excitement. Confused, you follow their gaze to the bottom of the staircase and your heart drops out of your ass.

All the alcohol in your blood stream seemed to evaporate as you see the Iron Man standing there. He had just heard about a hundred teenagers shouting profanities against him followed by his trainee’s revolutionary speech... he was astonished.

You gulp at his stance, knowing it too well. He had his arms acrossed his chest with one lazily holding his glasses to his lips, nibbling at the arm of it.

Summary: WrestleMania 2021 Rhea and you are doing double duty as you win the tag titles off Nia and Shayna, Rhea takes back her NXT women's championship and you retain the raw women's championship.

WrestleMania 37 was building to be the ultimate test for both you and your girlfriend of nearly 2 years. Due to the success last year, WWE has decided to keep WrestleMania as a two night event. This weekend, on night 2 of WrestleMania Rhea was planning to reclaim the NXT women’s championship by ending Io Shirai’s nearly 300 day reign as you defended your Raw women’s championship against Charlotte Flair who had returned on the Raw after the royal rumble to win the elimination chamber. So not only were you both having the most important matches of your lives but also  you both were pulling double duty as on night 1 you would be contending for the women’s tag team championship.  This would be the most exhausting weekend you’ve ever had since you won the Raw women’s championship just under a year ago at Money in the bank when Becky relinquished her championship, making you the youngest Women's champion of all time at just 21 years old. You and Charlotte would be the main event of night two and the anxiety was starting to settle in. You had been undefeated your entire run so if you were to lose the night before your psyche would be thrown off entirely. You trusted Rhea of course but you didn’t want to let her down before her big fight with Io.  

You were currently working out in your home gym, because Charlotte is a lot taller than you, you have to make sure you’re stronger and faster than Charlotte. “Hey babe, are you still going at it?” you didn’t hear Rhea come in after she had gone to the store for coffee. “Yeah baby, i need to be ready for this weekend.” You say as you restart your pull ups because you lost count. “Baby, I think you might be pushing yourself a bit too much.” Rhea says as she walks to stand in front of you. “Baby don’t worry, I just want to push my boundaries so that I’m faster than Charlotte” Rhea’s eyes soften as she looks at you sweating buckets after your nearly 2 hour workout session. “Babe, at least take a break and have a coffee date with me” You stop your pull ups, to look Rhea in the eye. Seeing her concern you fold. “Ok baby, i'll just run to the shower first and I’ll meet you in the kitchen.” Rhea smiles at your compromise and you run to the shower before you and Rhea’s at home coffee date. 

As the weekend drew closer and closer, your anxiety grew and grew. As champion you had tons and tons of media calls and appearances to do. A lot of the question that were being asked were about you and Rhea’s relationship and how you’ll celebrate if you bring all the gold home on Sunday night, but when you were on the phone to Sky sports the interviewer asked “So what happens if you fail to capture the gold but Rhea bring home the NXT championship, won’t that create a bit of tension maybe a bit of jealousy?” you were stunned by this question because although you had thought about it you had never heard someone else ask, the air was knocked out of your lungs as you remember how upset Rhea was last year when she lost her championship at WrestleMania, you remember how emotionally distraught she was, claiming she had let you down or disappointed you which couldn’t have been more wrong but there was no talking to her at the time. You couldn’t risk falling into that mindset. Your silence must have spoken volumes as the interviewer moved on. After the media calls finished the question continued to plague your mind, You passed Rhea’s office to see her still on the phone as her calls were planned to go on later. You hear Rhea laugh as she says “..yeah i couldn’t be happier to go for the tag championships with my best friend and partner… she’s the toughest woman I know so i think it’s a guarantee that we’re taking home all the gold come Sunday night.” You continue walking as your body fills with more dread as the idea of disappointing Rhea becomes more of a reality as the second pass. 

Saturday comes around faster than anyone could anticipate as before you knew it you were standing in the stadium, looking at all the empty seats that would soon be filled by screaming fans. This would be your first ever WrestleMania and you were the main event! You heard Charlotte before you saw her. “What's the matter kid? Finally realizing you weren’t built for the champion’s life?” You straighten your shoulders to show Charlotte that you weren’t scared of her. You turn to face her and see she's glaring down at you with that same condescending look that she gave Rhea before their match last year but you weren’t about to let her get into your head. “Very funny Flair, because I’ve been living this champion’s life for a year while you were at home.” you quip back at Charlotte and her smirk falls. “You know that’s exactly the confidence that cost your little girlfriend” Charlotte’s smirk came back as your blood started to boil as the need to hit Charlotte grew inside you. “And playing those types of petty mind games is how I’m going to retain Sunday night. WOOO” Your confidence returns as you strut away from a stunned Charlotte. 

You walk to the back where you find Rhea laying out her gear in your shared dressing room. “Hey baby” you say as you hug Rhea from behind. Rhea giggles as she feels you nuzzle into her back. “Hi darling, you ready to finally take those tag titles tonight?” Rhea excitedly asks as she turns around in your arms to hold you tightly to her chest. You lean up to quickly kiss her lips. “I’m so excited to bring those titles home” You and Rhea had been gunning for these tag titles since Shayna and Nia attacked you on Raw the week after Fastlane, That night Shayna made you pass out in the Kirifuda clutch. The week after when Shayna and Nia tried to ambush you again Rhea ran in and made the save, booking the match to open WrestleMania weekend. Rhea had beaten Shayna for the NXT championship two years ago and you had defeated Nia in Hell in a cell last year but you had never teamed together against them so this was new territory with familiar foes. 

As you and Rhea got ready for your first fight of the weekend, it was deadly silent as you both got your games faces on. You huff out an angry breath as your wrist tape refused to work with you. You feel Rhea take the tape from you as she begins to perfectly wrap your wrist and hands. When she finishes wrapping your hands, she kisses your palms. “It’s a sign of luck” she says as she folds your hands into fists to put you in a fighting stance before you both devolve into giggles. The silence that you both fall into is comfortable as you bask in the calm before the storm. “Hey babe, I have to tell you, I love you and I’m so proud of you and no matter what happens this weekend, as long as I have you by my side I’m the happiest woman alive.” Rhea confesses as holds your hands in hers and raises your hand to kiss your knuckles.  “I love you too baby, I can't wait to run this division with you” you say back as you can hear the crowds start to enter the arena and the excitement builds in the pit of your stomach. You and Rhea make eye contact one last time before returning to your individual gear bags to finish tying up your boots. You put your Raw championship belt on and left the dressing room hopefully for the last time as only a singles champ.  

Rhea leaves the gorilla position first as her music blares over the speaker in the stadium as the audience launches to their feet in thunderous applause. The cheering only builds when your music starts and you join Rhea at the top of the ramp to confidently walk to the ring. You both wait in the ring as Shayna and Nia make their way to the ring, once they enter the ring you tell Rhea you’ll start and the boos rain in as Shayna enters the ring to start the match with you. Once the bell rings Rhea tags herself in, You smile as you get out of the ring letting Rhea take control of the start of the match against Shayna. Rhea and Shayna exchange hard blows and tough strikes before Shayna gets Rhea into the arm break spot, you rush to break it up but after you dropkick Shayna off your girlfriend's arm, Nia comes in to throw you outside the ring. You hit the floor with a sickening thud, leaving Rhea alone in the ring. Shayna tags in Nia as she starts to overpower Rhea with knees and slams. 

You finally get back into the ring just in time to break up a pinning attempt by Nia. You roll back to your corner to grab the tag rope and start very kindly (but super aggressively) encourage Rhea to get back to your corner to tag out. She makes the hot tag to you and you clean house with dropkicks and high knees. Then it’s just you and Shayna in the ring, you had never fought Shayna before but you knew you had to keep your distance from her and stay off the ground, which proved to be easier said than done. When you and Shayna begin to exchange blows is when Shayna begins to gain the upper hand and before you know it Shayna has the kirifuda clutch locked in, you’re facing Rhea and you can see she’s barely on her feet. You try to roll towards the bottom rope when Shayna rolls you back into the center of the ring. You can feel your consciousness fading as Shayna’s starts to arch your back so the air leaves your lungs even faster. You feel Shayna suddenly release, you roll onto your back as you see Rhea kneeling above Shayna raining down punches on her before Nia returns back into the ring to drag Rhea outside the ring leaving you and Shayna down in separate corners of the ring. You are the first person up and you immediately deliver a earth shattering meteora to Shayna in the corner. She rolls into the center of the ring and you immediately know what you need to do and latch on your own Kirifuda clutch just like she had done to you 4 weeks previously. 

You don't get the proper technique and Shayna is able to maneuver her way out but you can tell she’s visibly rattled by being caught in her own signature submission move. You prey on this sudden question in confidence by hitting her with a shining wizard and then you see Rhea is on the apron so you tag her in to finish the job and she immediately hits a picture perfect riptide on Shayna as you run to the other side of the ring to drop kick Nia off the apron and as you turn back around the referee’s hand comes down for the 3 count and the stadium erupts with roars of approval from the crowd. You run to Rhea and jump into her arms as she hugs you so tightly you think she’s broken a few ribs but you couldn’t care less as now you and Rhea are tag team champions. The ref hands you both the belts once you've dismounted from Rhea. You both climb to the top turnbuckle as you show off your new belts before climbing out of the ring and walking up the ramp with your arms wrapped around each other. Once you returned to the gorilla position you were greeted with applause from the backstage crew and the other wrestlers that were waiting to go out for their matches.  You make your way to your dressing room as the adrenaline is still pumping through your veins. It was only when you sat down opposite each other and made eye contact when it finally settled into you that you both just won the tag team titles and immediately you started smiling at one another. “I don’t want to celebrate too hard till tomorrow” Rhea says with a laugh as you nod along with her. “I mean maybe we can have a little new title party back at the hotel” you start to wiggle your eyebrows at the end of your party invitation. “You’re so stupid” Rhea laughs at you super very serious offer. “Fine i’ll just have a solo party” you pout as you pack up your luggage. Rhea comes up behind you and puts her hands on your hips to lay gentle kisses on your neck. “What kind of tag team partner would I be if I left you to party all by yourself” You reach your hand back to run through Rhea’s hair. “We better get a move on then if we don’t want to miss the party” You say as you finish packing up your luggage and turn to kiss her on the lips before she goes to grab her luggage and the two of you return to your hotel for your party and to hopefully recover your bodies as best you can before your matches the next day. 

Sunday morning rolled around and you awoke to sunshine beaming in your hotel window, you reached for Rhea but found her side of the bed cold before you heard the gentle hum of the shower running and then suddenly shutting off. You go to roll out of the bed before you realize how stiff your neck is. You reach to gently rub the back of your neck to measure just how painful it is. “Is your neck stiff baby?” Rhea asks as she steps out of the bathroom and into the bedroom as she starts to get dressed. “Yea i just woke up and i can barely move it.” You feel Rhea’s hand gently massage the muscle at the top of your neck. “Yeah Shayna’s clutch will do that to you, she had you wrapped up for a long time as well so that definitely didn’t help you” you grumble under your breath as you begin manifesting that this neck pain is is only temporary and does not last till your match tonight but you have a haunting feeling that will be the case.  

When you and Rhea arrive at the stadium you immediately drop your stuff in your dressing room so you can start to stretch out the tension left in your muscles from yesterday's intense match. You can see Rhea doing the same as you know you’re both in for an uphill battle. Rhea is again opening the show with her NXT title. You and Rhea had decided not to be at ringside for each other's matches to ensure complete concentration. You had secretly agreed with Vince that if Rhea won you would be allowed to run out and celebrate with her. Rhea was pacing back and forth in the dressing room as she got into the zone. A stage hand came to give Rhea her 5 minute warning and as she went to walk you grabbed her arm to pull her into you “hey, you got this! The next time i see you, you’ll have that title around your waist ok? I love you.” You kiss her as she kisses you back and leaves the locker room to go get back her championship. You attempt to make yourself comfortable again as you look at the TV in your dressing room. When Rhea makes her entrance your anxiety is already eating you alive. You stop your pacing as Rhea bursts out from behind the curtain and the lights shine beautifully off Rhea’s tag belt and your heart can’t help but melt as Rhea beams at the roaring crowd. She makes it to the ring and hands the belt to the ref as Io makes her entrance. Once the bell rings it’s a fiery match up between your girlfriend and her arch nemesis. You can’t watch as Io gets the upper hand once she’s created enough space to fly but once Rhea regains the control you can’t contain your excitement. Rhea holds tight onto control of the match but as she goes for the riptide Io counters into a blistering hurricanrana and you hold your breath for the count but Rhea gets her shoulder up just in time to stop the count. You never get to re catch your breath as Rhea immediately gets Io into a prism trap and not before long Io taps. You immediately rush out past the curtain and the crowd roars as you rush down with your tag title around your waist and you grab the NXT title off the ref so that you could be the one to wrap in around Rhea’s waist as you raise her hand to the chorus of screams from the crowd. You open the ropes for Rhea as she goes to leave the ring. You and Rhea walk up the ramp hand in hand. 

Once again you’re walking back through the curtain with another new title. You were insanely proud of Rhea and all she’s accomplished over this weekend. You were caught up in your daze so you didn’t see Charlotte walking past you till she knocked your shoulder. You stumbled back, Luckily Rhea caught you. You hear Charlotte say as she turns around to look at you “aw, how sweet, too bad your little party is gonna come crashing down when i take back what’s rightfully mine.” before you can say anything back she turns back and continues walking away. Rhea turns you forward and she pulls you along to your dressing room. “Don’t listen to her.. You're gonna crush her baby.” Rhea reassures you as she pulls you into her side. Once you reach the dressing room you can’t sit down with the amount of pure anger coursing through your veins. “I can’t believe she’s playing these mind games less than 3 hours before our match” you were furious at her petty attempts to get in your head and throw you off your game but you could let your mind linger on the fact that Charlotte was being petty because Rhea just won back her title so you rush to hug her and smother her face in kisses.  

Rhea can’t help but laugh at your 180 turn from being furious at Charlotte to raining down a mirage of kisses and “I’m so proud of you” ’s. Rhea holds your face in her hands as she looks deep into your eyes “I hope you know i couldn’t have done this without you” She finishes by trailing you jaw with kisses before capturing your lips in a kiss filled with mutual love and pride at how far you’ve both come as individuals and as a couple. You had your fair share of ups and downs in the 2 years that you’ve been together but you always stayed by each other's side no matter what. You separate from your champion’s huddle when there was a knock on the door and Rhea’s family entered to celebrate her hard fought victory. You feel a sense of happiness as you watch Rhea animatedly recount to her parents the epic proportions of the match as if they hadn’t just watched it themselves. The conversation naturally moves towards the TV in the room as you all settle down to watch the remainder of the show before you have to go out there. 

You don’t feel the time pass by but before you know it you’re getting your 20 warnings till it's time. Rhea’s family wishes you luck as you stand to go warm up. Rhea follows you out of the dressing room to hype you up before you have to go to gorilla. The clock ticks by as you get yourself into the big fight mindset. You saw Charlotte make her way towards gorilla as she would be making her entrance before you. She makes eye contact with you and you wink back at her, she glares back at you and goes through the curtain. You hear her music start to boom out over the stadium as the boo’s begin for Flair and her incessant Woo’s. Rhea kisses you on the lips as she locks eyes with you. “Ok listen baby, it’s now or never! I believe in you and I know for a fact that you’re going to crush her and bring this belt back home tonight” Rhea says as she points to the belt that’s strapped onto your waist, where it belongs. A stage assistant comes to bring you to the gorilla position where you wait for your cue to enter into the most important match of your career so far. 

You feel the bass of your theme song as it rolls through the stadium and as you burst through the curtain into the bright lights of the top of the ramp. You stand on the top of the ramp and just bask in the hundreds of thousands of fans screaming for you. Your eyes lock onto Charlotte in the ring and they don’t leave her the whole way down the ramp to the ring. You high five the fans at ring side before walking up the stairs to enter the ring. When your music dies down the dueling chants for you and Charlotte begin as the tension builds both in the ring and in the stadium. Once the bells rings you expected your anxiety to shoot up but it vanished. It disappeared because you were in your element, this is what you were built for, what you trained since you were 15 years old to do and you were doing to fight with everything you had left in your body to keep what is rightfully yours.  

The lock up between you and Charlotte is intense as you both have so much riding on this. Charlotte had to prove that she was 14 time champion for a reason and you had to prove that you were the best wrestler in this division and on the entire roster. The match progresses on with the two of you exchanging blows and moves, slowly building in violence as you both become more and more desperate to take home the belt. Charlotte goes for the figure 4 early on but you counter it into a prism trap as a tribute to Rhea but Charlotte escapes before you can really lock it in. The match continues to progress as the atmosphere in the stadium becomes pure electric as the crowd is captured by the show of pure athletic ability you were showing off. The battle between you and Charlotte wages on when suddenly you get a golden opportunity to hit your finisher the dragons leap (its a v trigger) and the second you hit it you know you struck the sweet spot at the back of Charlotte's head and she's out. The second you hear the refs hand come down for the three count it's like a dream. You can’t believe it, you finally did it. You proved to everyone that you were the very best and you could walk with the best of them. You stand up only to collapse into the turnbuckle as your emotions get the better of you and you start to cry from pure joy. You see Rhea sprint into your peripheral vision, like you had done; she takes the belt off of the ref and wraps it around your waist herself. You see she is also wearing her NXT women’s belt. She hands you your tag title as you both climb a ring post to pose with all your new gold. You look across at Rhea and become even more addicted to the sight of her literally dripping in belts and you realize that you would do anything to ensure that she stays that way.  

You take your eyes off of Rhea as you turn to celebrate with the other side of the stadium when you hear the screams off the crowd increase by tenfold. You turn around and there is Rhea on one knee and your heart fills with so much love it damn near bursts in your chest as your eyes rapidly fill with tears. You can barely hear Rhea over the screams of the crowd and the thumping of your own heart but you watch her mouth as you see those four words and 15 letters came out of her mouth. You vigorously nod your head as Rhea leaps up to put your engagement ring on your finger, she lifts you off the ground as for the thousandth time since you met the aussi she swept you off your feet.  You physically couldn't be happier as the closing shot of WrestleMania was you and your fiancée holding all the belts and sharing one last kiss before the show went off the air.

The game was inspired by the party game Mafia and the science fiction horror film The Thing. The game allows for cross-platform play, first being released on iOS and Android devices in June 2018 and on Windows later that year in November. The game was then ported to the Nintendo Switch in December 2020, and on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in December 2021. A separate VR version of the game, Among Us VR, will be released for Quest 2, SteamVR, and PlayStation VR, developed by Schell Games.

Among Us takes place in a space-themed setting where players look like colorful armless cartoon astronauts; however, since the release of "The Skeld" spaceship, three other maps have been added in later years: the skyscraper "MIRA HQ", the "Polus" planetary station, and "The Airship" (based on Infiltrating the Airship from the Henry Stickmin series, also developed by Innersloth). Each player takes on one of two roles—most are Crewmates, but a small number play Impostors—which does not alter their appearance.[d] The goal of the Crewmates is to identify and eliminate the Impostors, while completing tasks around the map; the goal of the Impostors is to covertly sabotage the mission either by killing the Crewmates before they complete all their tasks or by triggering a disaster that cannot be resolved.

Among Us is a multiplayer game for four to fifteen players (previously four to ten players), although recommended for at least five.[11] Up to three players are randomly[12] and secretly chosen to be the Impostor(s) each round. As of 2021, a round can take place on one of four maps: a spaceship called "The Skeld"; a headquarters building called "MIRA HQ"; a planet base called "Polus";[13] or an airship based on Innersloth's Henry Stickmin series called "The Airship".[14][15]

The Impostor(s) win(s) one of two ways: either by killing most of the crew (to the point that they're equal in number) or by sabotaging a critical system on the map (provided the Crewmates don't resolve it in time). The Crewmates likewise can win one of two ways: either by completing all tasks or by identifying and ejecting all Impostors.[13] Games can also end by players quitting the match if doing so fulfills any win condition (if a Crewmate quits the game, their tasks are automatically considered completed).[16][17][18]

At the start of the game, Crewmates are assigned "tasks" to complete around the map (in the form of minigames, minipuzzles, and simple toggles), mostly consisting of maintenance work on vital systems such as fixing wires and downloading data.[19] Impostors are given a fake list of suggested tasks to blend in with Crewmates. However, they cannot legitimately perform tasks and can only pretend to be doing any of the tasks on the ship. Impostors, however, can sabotage vital systems (such as The Skeld's oxygen supply), close the doors to rooms, quickly and covertly travel through the ventilation system (commonly referred to as "venting"), and kill Crewmates when standing near them. To help the Crewmates identify Impostors, there are various surveillance systems on each map, such as security cameras and an admin system on The Skeld,[20] a doorlog system with sensors in MIRA HQ,[21] and a vitals indicator in Polus.[13] Crewmates may also confirm their identity through "visual tasks" (tasks that have animations which play for other players), which cannot be faked by Impostors.[22]

If a Crewmate is killed or any player is voted out and ejected, they become a ghost. Ghosts can pass through walls, watch other players' activities, and see and chat with other ghosts.[18] Living players have a limited cone of vision;[23] ghosts do not.[24] Moreover, ghosts cannot communicate with living players or be seen by them. Ghosts help their living teammates by completing their tasks (as a Crewmate) or performing various acts of sabotage (as an Impostor).[13]

Any living player may call a group meeting by reporting a dead body, or by pressing the Emergency Meeting button on the map at any time (except during major sabotages, when Emergency Meetings cannot be called, but dead bodies can still be reported).[18][25][26] During a meeting, players discuss who they believe is an Impostor based on the available evidence. Impostors can be identified beyond all reasonable doubt if they are seen venting or killing. A player may be suspected for many other reasons though. However, all the players form a sort of jury and must weigh the veracity or value of each other's statements and questions during the meeting. A plurality vote is held, and if a plurality is obtained, the player whom the most crewmates voted is ejected from the map and they become a ghost, unless the majority of the crewmates choose to skip vote or there is a tie vote.[19][18] Players can communicate in a built-in text chat (with some predefined phrases for phone users),[19] but only during meetings, and only if they are alive (though ghosts can speak with one another at any time).[13][18][23] While the game does not have a built-in voice chat system, it is common for players to use external programs such as Discord,[27][28][29] or to converse regularly if they are in close physical proximity to one another. In case players can hear each other's voices, the game reminds them to not speak except during meetings.

In November 2021, additional roles were made available to players extending beyond the standard Crewmate or Impostor roles. Crewmates can also be Engineers, Scientists, or Guardian Angels. Engineers allow Crewmates to travel through vents like Impostors can, albeit to a limited capacity. Scientists can check vitals at any time to see if any player has been killed recently. Crewmates who become Ghosts can become Guardian Angels, which can temporarily protect living players from being killed. Impostors likewise can be Shapeshifters, allowing them to temporarily morph into other players.

In each game's lobby, various options can be adjusted to customize aspects of gameplay, such as player movement speed, the allowed number of emergency meetings, number of tasks, if there will be "visual tasks",[30] or whether or not an Impostor is revealed after being voted off.[31] There are also many cosmetic options, including spacesuit colors, skins, hats, and pets,[32][33] some of which are paid downloadable content.[e][5][7][23]
