The Varia in Namimori

After the defeat of the Varia officers and the boss Xanxus, many discussions where held in the Vongola Headquarters. Due to interference from the Nuvella Family from the shadows, they were given a sort of punishment. To send one of their best teams that includes Ava Muramasa, to Namimori as undercover agents to secure the safety of the Vongola tenth generation, Of course this was not exactly met with cheers. But the condition was for the Varia to give up on some of their most capable people, including Squalos younger brother to secure that there will be an incentive to take the mission seriously. And so starts Squad 4s time in Namimori, an easy mission with its very own brand of difficulties.

The Agents

Ava Muramasa undercover as Ayaka Seiryukawa

Being the one member that was explicitly ordered to go to Namimori, Ava was unsure what to feel, before he realized that this was a prime opportunity to take revenge on Takeshi Yamamoto for the rain ring battles outcome. Being a boy that can look rather androgynous, Ava decided to follow his passion of pretending to be a girl and took on the alias of Ayaka Seiryukawa and became one of Tsunas classmates.

The second pick of the Varia, despite Belphegors very vocal displeassure. Because of his age there was no chance to smuggle him into the Middleschool so he attends Namimori Highschool. He visits the middleschool frequently and makes sure to go rounds checking on the places where the vongola tenth squad usually is found. Due to being incredibly athletic and smart he is incredibly popular with girls and is saught after by sports clubs.

as soon as he is away from Belphegor he realizes that he has no hobbies and is constantly in work and survival mode, which leads him to earnestly pursue a relationship with Ava, in the disguise of Ayaka

Picking Leo as another member for the mission was mostly Lorenzos doing. He believes that a soft big teddybear like him belongs into a low pressure mostly non violent environment like Namimori, more than into the Varia. Due to his muteness, size and buffness he can not pretend to be a teacher at the school so he becomes school security and quickly a student favourite because of his strength but also his kindness. In fact the amount of trouble some students cause has significantly decresed, because people rather deal with Leos gentle reprimanding instead of Hibaris iron fist. Ryohei really wants him to coach the boxing club but Leo refuses.

Trivia:

He is often seen wistfully looking towards the soccer field and when he has some free time he likes to kick with the kids. Sergey noted that Leo looks genuinely happy when he plays

tardiness has decreased at school because most late students who still jump over the gates to school get easily caught by Leo and his inhuman speed

Whenever he is free he checks on his colleagues, especially Sergey who he is especially worried about

with Sergey he tries his best to keep Ava from murdering Takeshi

Sergey was almost an immideate pick for the team the moment it was clear that Leo would join the mission. Those two are inseperable. He, like Ava is also really good at taking on a different persona and blend into normal society. He has exceptional social skills that come very in handy and he has a good grasp on Ava whenever he tries to go for Yamamotos life. He is a main mediator between parties and charming, just by nature. Of course being tasked with being a basketball coach was a bit of a setback for him. It turns out he will be met with a few difficulties that will make it hard to keep up his act.

Trivia:

he becomes the coach for both Nami middle and Nami Highschools basketball teams and really brings out the best of each team getting them to national preliminaries for the first time

when he isn't coaching he checks in on Leo and Ava, since he knows Lor can take care of himself and Ava is the bigger liability

first to prevent Ava from simbly murdering Takeshi at any opportune moment

he is sometimes asked to also coach the girls volleyball team which turns out to be quite difficult for him mentally due to resurfacing memories

also sometimes asked to help with P.E. at Nami middle, due to the P.E. teacher being a bit sickly, and he pulls the boys head out of their asses a bit, when it comes to their bullying of Tsuna

Christophe Ubert is ashe and hapi's firstborn. since he was born before hapi had her crest removed, he inherited the crest of timotheus from her. there was some concern that the experimentation done on her crest would affect how chris' worked, but thankfully it didnt. they held off on having any more biological children until linhardt's successful removal of her crest, though.

he is, of course, named after ashe's late adoptive brother, and he feels a fair bit of pressure from that legacy. he wants to prove himself worthy of it and is keen to take opportunities to show what he's capable of. he even led his class of blue lions at the reopened officers academy.

i wanted him to have like a disney prince vibe cus of his crest and the dynamic i had already thought of for him and ely, in that ely has a bit of a sibling inferiority thing going on. he's more handsome than most picrews allow, but still quite grounded and sweet. he was a bit of a heartthrob at the academy, though truthfully he can be very awkward and dorky.

he can talk with various animals and at the academy he tried his best to keep it to birds, mounts, and the stray dogs and cats of the grounds. he does his best to suppress sighs but when they do happen he usually excuses himself rather sharpish. his sighs attract a pack of wolves that otherwise keep relatively nearby, having accepted him as one of their pack, and while theyre largely harmless unless he gives them an order, people do get scared and it can cause trouble. when mobilised with purpose, though, he and his pack make for a threatening visual.

all in all, he's a good kid, and i like the role ive picked out for him in the story. i originally was just gonna keep him to ely and livia's supports, like holst in houses, but i couldnt not try to find a way to put him in. i love him!

Known for: Bringing her Kingdom into an era of prosperity and growth, a period of peace.

She is a ruthless leader and war commander, this allowed for the growth of her country and the shrinking of monster populations in the area, wild and civilized kinds.

Born an alicorn, she was the first born daughter to her parents, her Sister ( currently unnamed) was born a Unicorn. both sisters studied under their parents, but Helia was taught the secrets of alicorn magic, as custom for the family line.

Helia was pronounced Queen of her kingdom once both parents had perished in battle to protect the kingdom from monsters. In this time after, she managed to take hold of the kingdom and raise it to its lofty standing it enjoys in the current day. She pushed back many species of creature that encroached on her land and people, creating safety within her land.

Some time after peace was mostly established within her kingdom, with an unknown father, or sired through magic, Queen Helia birthed her first and only daughter, Princess Alexandria. Once she found out she was with child, she took to writing and hiding secret texts on alicorn magic, so that should anything happen to her, her daughter might continue to follow her destiny as an alicorn leader and fighter.

At this point Queen Helia had developed an extremely trusting relationship with her closest and highest Mage, starseers father. Starbeam ( placeholder name )

Starbeam specialized in studying alicorn magic, but was extremely skilled in other areas, easily the best in the kingdom. Helia appointed him to be her magical consultant, they trained together and wrote many detailed manuscripts and books filled with magic notes and experiments. Starbeam was again appointed to tutor a young Alexandria in magic from an extremely young age, from the time she could speak she was learning magic in secret at her mother’s command.

After some time of tutoring Alex with starbeam, Queen Helia was pronounced dead after being attacked by a hoard of changelings that took her by surprise.

OC Profiles: Red, from Heart Crushed

Red is a spunky 18 year old trans girl who lives with her closest friend, Calcifa, a femme gay man who's a few years older than her. She keeps her past private, sometimes even hiding it from herself; she has Dissociative Identity Disorder and is nowhere near the original host. Climbwell has been her home since she relocated herself without her parent's permission at the start of high school, and she's had a rough go of it for as long as any of her alters can remember, but starting her (hopefully) last year of high school, she's happy with her friends, Wonder and Rita, and excited to meet the other students in the LGBT club that Rita runs, since she finally decided to join. Being the only anthro in her immediate friend group doesn't bother her at all, though she isn't sure why Laz, Wonder's new partner, stares at her so much, or why Heart, Rita's long time highly dependant bestie, likes to flex that she's a weredragon so much. When Rita vanishes and the newly established friend group gets shaken up in the wake, she retreats into old habits, and finds that her past is back to haunt her and that her present isn't so bright either, despite her best efforts to get along with everyone.

Mindy was a fairly average kid growing up. Well, her family was pretty well off, but it was hardly anything compared to how wealthy her uncle was. It was still enough to afford a nice flat in the center of Southville and the latest in games consoles. At school she had a fairly large group of friends who she'd often invite over for gaming.

Her life took a downward turn when her father disappeared when she was 7. She had always been closer with him than her mother because of the long hours she worked. Her family drifted apart from her uncle, and she eventually lost contact with her cousin Genevieve. She acted as if she hadn't been hit too hard by it, but for whatever reason her large friend circle quickly shrank to only one or two people.

The move to secondary school was a fresh new start, but it also left her with even less friends. By the end of the first year, she still hadn't quite found some good company. Sometime in her second year, she started getting strange thoughts in her head. They almost seemed to be coming from the people around her. She assumed she was just going crazy and tried her best to ignore it until she could prove it was real.

She freaked out her classmates a bit by knowing exactly what they were thinking, but it still wasn't proof enough for her to be completely sure. Definitive proof came when she caught a passing thought from her classmate Tori. A recent memory of her falling out of a tree, and flying? Maybe her mind reading wasn't the only strange thing going on around here after all...

Once they were aware of each other's powers, Mindy and Tori became quick friends. By extension, she also befriended Tori's friend Irene. A few months later she dragged her classmate Zoe into the friend group after they discovered their teleportation powers, along with Zoe's friend Morgan.

A year or so later, at the end of year nine she invited the group back to her flat for a sleepover to start off the summer holidays. They had a great time, until they were woken up early in the morning by an assailant looking to kidnap Irene. This led to them all discovering the existence of the GPSS, global ring of secret agents trying to keep the world safe, with a base hidden underneath Irene's mum's pizzeria dedicated to investigating the recent rise in paranormal activity and training new agents with powers. Things would only escalate from there.

Later that summer, Mindy, Zoe and Morgan were all accepted into the illustrious but secretive private school known as Providence Academy. The GPSS was also launching a mission to infiltrate the school, as apparently there were some suspicious goings on going on involving powers. They also knew a telepath was involved somehow. Mindy never expected that telepath to be her own cousin, and for her uncle to practically own the place. What were they doing there? Was it even necessary to stop them?

Four years after those events, Mindy had done quite well for herself. Being the last surviving member of the Larue family, she inherited her uncle and cousin's fortune and countryside manor. She's made her way around the upper crust, subtly poking around people's thoughts to know exactly the right thing to say to them. She wears a watch similar to the one her cousin used to wear to enhance her powers. Unlike her cousin's model, this one also comes equipped with technology to weaken or disable her powers if desired, so she can finally have some quiet time in her own head. Her legs are still a bit dodgy from when someone tried to drop a roof on her, but one of the benefits of being filthy rich is being able to afford the best in braces and walking sticks. Unfortunately, this still barred her from undergoing proper GPSS training, but she can still be called on from time to time for things that require her particular set of skills. She plans to study computer science at university, and grow her fortune even more with the next big tech company, or possibly a dubious crypto scam...

Cicero has a Roaring Twenties swagger and charm, reminiscent of that of classic gangster movies. His catchphrase is "Badda-bing, badda-boom".

Calumet City has blues in his soul, and the Blues Brothers in his fashion.

Naperville, as one might guess from her graduate's uniform, is a learned woman and avid bookworm who always seems to be reading something.

Skokie is a cultural enthusiast who champions diversity, and is always wanting to plan some kind of festival.

Joliet is an artist who is also into history. She has that gentle "grandma" aesthetic and personality to her.

Elgin likes to tinker with clocks and watches, and ponder the mysteries of time.

Waukegan is a sailor, matching his namesake city's maritime vibe. He's got many a tale of sailing the high seas, or rather, the lake waves.

Evanston, who I've already mentioned. True to his Bill Murray-esque persona, he brings the jokes - and occasionally, the deep wisdom of his comedic doppelganger.

Schaumburg is the shopaholic cousin who's always itching to hit the mall. He has a sharp sense at finding deals and steals.

Highland Park is the hipster, rocking his beret and paint stains. He nearly always carries his big backpack of art supplies around, even if he isn't planning to draw or paint on the go.

Aurora, much like her colorful namesake, has a mystique to her that can't be easily explained. She has spiritual powers too, being able to "read" others' vibes and possessing a deep bond with nature and its light shows.

Arlington Heights is the equestrian enthusiast who's happiest on a horse. Although he used to be a professional rider back in the day, he now just rides for pleasure.

New Character Profiles

Hi all,

It’s been a while. It'll still be a while yet until I start the sequel, but until then, I see no harm in dropping some details about our newest OCs that we'll meet next year. So, here they are!

Vikash Gill is a resident doctor in his late twenties whom you may remember from this chapter. He is not involved in any of the gang business, but he entangles himself and his roommates when he removes Khaled’s chip and takes Khaled home to care for him. He’s a tall and broad-shouldered South Asian man with the beginnings of a receding hairline and glasses, though he’s still objectively good looking. He lives with roommates Eric Moon and Cade Heller, who help him support Khaled during recovery arc. He does not have his license due to a traumatic car accident when he was younger, but he’s working through his fear of driving to overcome it. Vik can come across as blunt and grumpy, taking a more heavy-handed approach to caretaking, but he takes his job seriously and will do what is best for his patients, even if that means implementing some tough love. He likes bodybuilding as a hobby and as a practical means of taking care of patients, and his music taste is all over the place (emo songs, bhangra, rap, etc).

Eric Moon is the Korean American anesthesiologist and gamer who rents a house with Vikash Gill and Cade Heller. He’s the shortest of the Roommate Trio, though he and Cade are almost indistinguishable in height even if they stand back to back. Eric likes to bleach his hair, but that’s about it when it comes to interesting looks. He seems like an airhead, and in many ways, he is, but he is great with people and reading between the lines to find what deeper problems may be at play. He streams semi-regularly on his Twitch channel ‘Light ☾ Moon,’ and he can throw together a decent meal using whatever they have in the kitchen within half an hour’s time. He and Vik met and roomed together in their undergraduate days, and now they’re just besties who live together. He used to date Cade in high school, before Cade became Cade, but they broke it off amicably when Cade came out. Eric then extended a hand to his ex when Cade was in a rough spot, and now he thinks of him as his best friend, never holding their past relationship against him.

Cade Heller is the German-American veterinary technician, musician, and pothead who rents a house with Vikash Gill and Eric Moon. He has light brown, curly hair that falls slightly past his shoulders, freckles, and a set of spider bite piercings at the lower right side of his mouth. He has a few tattoos: one big pentagram on his upper left arm and a series of Nordic runes on his inner right forearm. He is an old friend and ex of Eric’s who needed a place to stay after having nowhere else to go. He is trans, but that’s not the only cool thing about him: he’s pagan, he’s an on-and-off vegan, he plays the guitar in a small local band, he owns an aquarium with six angelfish and a bristle-nosed pleco, etc. Cade is the most cautious and pragmatic of the Roommate Trio, but he's only looking out for his friends. He can sometimes be obtuse, but he never intends to offend (if he did intend, you would know). He is tired of correcting people who inadvertently abuse of neglect their exotic pets due to misinformation that still sticks around.

Character Summary:

Ava is very different from his brother Superbi, who is rather boisterous and in your face. While Superbi is calm and collected when the chips are down and he is in private, Ava is the exact opposite. He is polite and friendly on the outside, but harbors a deeply twisted side that only few ever know of. He is calm and collected most of the time, seemingly in control of himself and his emotions, but when his buttons are pushed they are pushed. Then Ava can become incredibly emotional. Angry, vengeful, sadistic, hateful, jealous, even freaked out. However such moments are very rare. Also a very important aspect of him is that he has a deep connection to his brother Superbi, who he adores and almost worships. He is clingy towards his brother and will do anything for his sake, be it to others or himself. Superbi is the only tether to sanity that Ava has and if anything happens to him, his emotions will completely take over him and send him on a complete murder spree. Towards friends he is warm and compassionate, towards comrades, practical and understanding, offering a hand when necesary, but also being very aware of others strength and capabilities.

Background:

Ava was born as the second son of a mafia broker and a florist. His parents died when he was still a small toddler so he does not remember them well, however he remembers his big brother very clearly. Superbi gave Ava to their uncle while he persued a life in the mafia, not knowing that their uncle would not let Ava grow up without scars. Ava was not treated well at his uncles place. He was mostly tasked with chores and had to be quiet and out of the way. When he asked about his brother and when he'd come back his uncle would just brush it off and not give a clear answer, growing increasingly annoyed and letting his frustration out on Ava. Due to an incident, Ava was hit with the 10-year-bazooka at age 7, swapping with his older self who at that moment in time was involved in a fight. His opponent didnt understand why Ava had suddenly shrunk, but didnt relent in his attacks. Just in time Squalo came to rescue his younger brother and took him into his arms, promising they will reunite and that Squalo would keep him safe. After the young boy switched back into his own timeline he became obsessed with wanting to become a cool swordsman like his brother was and eventually reunite with him.

At around age 12, his uncle snaps, becoming violent towards Ava who manages to knock his uncle out, due to mostly luck, Ava grabs his things and runs from "home", deciding to go and find Squalo himself and not wait any longer. On his journey he manages to somehow come by offering cleaning and chore services for training. At age 14 he tracks down his brother at the Varia and takes it's member exam that he passes, even if barely. Squalo is at first hesitant to accept Ava as a member, but can not escape Ava demanding a proper talk. The brothers reconcile and Ava officially becomes Squalos pupil, slowly working himself up the ranks until he becomes Second in Comand.

Fighting Style:

Ava fights with a katana, though he does not follow any specific school of style. In fact he has been shaped by Squalos training so that Ava would ingrain the basics of wielding a sword and then expand into his own swordstyle that he would design to his own needs (metaphorically speaking, Squalo taught him the TECHNIQUE of cooking, but left it up to Ava to figure out how to make recipes, season properly or combine ingredients). When asked what style or school he uses he usually answers it with "scuola di Squalo" which makes it ambiguous if he refers to the shark as an animal or his brother.

Avas usually displayes a style that is precise, to the point and uses the least amount of movements as possible. He does not ever waste his energy on unnecesary maneuvers nor on intimidating tactics. If he needs one swing, he will do one swing. His goal is the kill or incapacitation of an enemy, not to have fun. That's what he has sparring with Yamamoto for, who made Ava treat their specific training feel more like a sport to him. So studying Ava during missions is very different to seeing him spar, where he dares to be a bit more innovative and experimental. However Squalo has noted that Ava during his spars seems more true to himself and his real skill than the precision he shows during work. His swordfighting has been often deemed to be "fluid like water" and been described as "elegant", because he seemlessly combines his movements. It's hard to discern where one step starts and the next ends. This has solidified his reputation and nickname as a "(baby) shark" as it feels like he is completely at home in the fluid motions.

A specific technique of Ava that he developed himself is called "The realm of silence" or simply "Silencio". In it, Ava completely synchronizes with his surrounding world, becoming one with the atmosphere to the point of all unnecesary noise disappearing. In this state of mind Ava is able to use his weapon to utmost precision like a scalpel, even going as far as to control his Dying Will Flames to such a small amount that he can control what specifically he cuts and or tranquilizes with his attack. The wounds sustained are often so specific and detailed that it almost seems like an inhuman and impossible feat.

This "Silencio" state is one step removed from "The Zone" a state that is mostly achieved by athletes in sports when they mange to completely focus on the task at hand with no distractions. However, Ava is also able to reach and enter "The Zone" thanks to his spars with Yamamoto in the Future Arc timeline. With the two of them treating their spars like legitimate sport and competition, Ava is able to enter the zone during swordfighting, which only makes him all the more deadly.

If a fight does in fact go on longer or needs endurance, Ava will use as much of his sword as possible, hilt, shaft, sheath, scabbard- just to keep the actual swings and cuts for very important openings he can either make or find. Though he tries to be as careful as possible with his sword and all it entails he does know that damage is sometimes unavoidable.

His box animal is a rainwolf by the name of Haku, who Ava uses for reinforcement to keep other enemies at bay or to find a targets whereabout. He rarely fights WITH Haku.

The person he has the best synergy with is actually Lorenzo, even if Ava disagrees and says he fights best by his brothers side. He can easily act as a supporting player or go into complete offense, though if possible he will seek a direct one on one duel.

He is versed in hand to hand combat, however not proficient in it. He relies mostly on his swordfighting, but he isn't entirely helpless should he be disarmed.

He has no proficiency or practice with other weapons and feels only comfortable with lighter swords.

Trivia:

Being Squalos brother he often has to hear about his position being due to nepotism and more often than not he is challenged to duels by other members, though after a while these duels are initiated by newer members who do not heed seniors advice to not duel the tiny shark as he is just as vicious as his brother. Nono, the Varias primary medic refuses to treat any and all wounds sustained from these duels.

Ava has a fascination with japan and its culture especially its long history of swordsmanship, which is why he took on the name "Muramasa" and picked up the Katana. This also shows in the name of his sword "Hokori" (Pride) and later his box weapon the rain wolf "Haku" (White)

The sword he wields was reforged from the blade Squalo used to defeat Tyr and was a celebeatory present to Ava for becoming his right hand. Therefor he dubbed it "Hokori" (Pride)

Avas primary hobby is tea. He likes preparing and drinking tea and gets personally offended at others not drinking or preparing it properly.

Ava is the only one aside from Lussuria that dares call Squalo "Squ". When they are alone and interact soley as brothers, Ava does ocassionaly call him by his first name "Superbi"

Despite having no real memories of their parents, Squalo says that Ava tends to resemble their mother more, while Squalo feels himself more to resemble their father which he utterly hates.

Due to his rather soft face Ava is often mistaken for a girl and later even becomes the Varia special officer for undercover missions, for missions that can not be done through illusions. This is where he lures people in while crossdressing, to then assassinate them the moment their guard is down. However he is very secure in his gender and doesn't feel upset or uncomfortable when misgendered, though he still prefers to be labeled a man and adressed with he/him pronouns.

Ava and Takeshi actually meet before anyone else meets the Unseen Varia, during the Future Arc Timeline, when Squalo trains him and they have a rather even match. Ava is actually the first one to force Yamamoto to expand his technique catalogue. After the end of the Future Arc, Sergey is the one that reaches out to Yamamoto to rekindle their old friendships, but the first time he and Ava spar in this timeline is in fact during the Daily Life in Italy Arc.

Jirou and Haku are good friends as their owners are.

Ava has been noted by Squalo to be held back by their kinship as Ava keeps hanging to the title of his "little brother" too much to allow himself to fully grow and evolve as a human being and swordsman.
