The little Niffler waddled over to where the new fifth year was sitting and began to scramble in his belly pouch, rummaging around until he pulled out a shiny, silver Slytherin Prefect badge.

Holding it up for a brief moment, Nosy admired the gleam before quickly tucking it right into the boy's breast pocket and signalling to the young wizard with his paw to keep silent about his treasure.

At the sound of footsteps approaching, Nosy spun around, casting a quick glance over his shoulder. Without missing a beat, the little menace gave the new fifth year a few pats on the cheek before waddling away.

The new fifth-year couldn’t imagine he was being given the badge for safe keeping, he knew this particular Niffler can scurry away treasures just fine.

But before he could quiz it, the tiny furball disappeared as quickly as it arrived only to be replaced by the appearance of William! Asking if he has seen either the tricksy Niffler or his Slytherin badge.

Feeling the weight of metal in his pocket, he shrugged and felt very mischievous indeed. He had plans for this trinket and it shouldn’t be too long before Will @ask-elland-n-will will be receiving an owl to its whereabouts…

04/25/2025 Progress Update:

TLDR: 2.5K written, about 34K drafted so far for chapter

I really really wanted to finish the draft today but theeeen got distracted by a lot of things. Still got 2.5K more drafted, and we're like RIGHT at the end of section 4, so we're going strong. I do very much think I could get the whole chapter drafted by end of tomorrow, but we'll see. If not, likely by end of weekend. Then editing time!

I have really been enjoying these last parts. My fingers are flying, barely stopping. It's probably 'cause it's action; despite not being like the BEST at action, I still really like writing it lol. I especially like the constraints. The fact Shuichi's heart stops him from taking a chase at full-strength forces me to reassess how he approaches trying to catch the Phantom Thief, relying less on his strength/endurance and more his ability to think on his feet. I want him to be resourceful.

That's like one of my favorite FAVORITE things about any Phantom Thief AU, when Shu uses his head to get himself out of situations. I point to ultimate_heartache's fic, which has Shu use a cigarette's smoke path to get him out of a mirror maze. That is.... like the most spell-binding thing I've ever seen in a Phantom Thief AU lol, I love it SO much. So I wanted to emulate a similar vein of "mind over body" moments for Shu, not only because I think it's cool but because I think Ko would eat it up.

Anyway. Today was a little better, which is always a plus! I'm very much looking forward to this weekend. I'm going to sit outside on my newly-moved-into deck and write for like the entire day. And no one can stop me mwahahaha.

Babeee! I was supposed to tell you yesterday but babess...

i can't believe it's finally official. jungwon and i. we're actually dating now.

as i stand at my locker a familiar voice rings beside me.

"good morning girlfriend~" jungwon teases, smiling at me.

"sorry i didn't get to walk with you, i had to come early to help set up the starting line up for the game," he frowns.

Yamaguchi is the first one to hand you a shakeable pack of ice when you wince, grabbing your wrist gently as he places the ice pack against the inside of your forearm. You laugh slightly at how warm your skin feels, stinging and throbbing from the repetitive impact of the plastic ball.

It’s sunny out, perfect weather. You sit in the grass next to your bags, letting the tall boy with freckles crouch next to you as he softly holds the ice against your skin. He sighs, “Your skin is fragile, you didn’t have to bump any of the balls, tossing would’ve been fine.”

Your chuckle gets caught off with a hiss as Yamaguchi moves his attention to your other arm. “I’m not as good as either of you, my tosses suck.”

Tsukishima picks up the forgotten volleyball of the grass, making his way to your side with quick and long strides. “We know.” He stands there for a moment, letting you punch his shin in a flabbergasted retort, before sitting down and resting his head on his bag. He drapes his arm over his eyes and tucks his glasses into the collar of his white shirt. “But the more you practice the more resistant you’ll be and eventually,” he lifts his arm, meeting your eyes for a split second before covering them again, “it won’t even hurt.”

Yamaguchi hums next to you and pulls the ice away. You tuck your arms close to your stomach, thanking him as you scoot forward to lay down. The two boys shuffle as they reach for their respective water bottles. You smile when Tsukishima’s shadow falls over your face. 

Humming, you smile. “It’s a nice day.”

The boys give you a tired response in agreement, chucking their water before lying down in the grass. Once comfortable, the blond hisses. “The sun is almost at its peak and there aren’t any clouds. We should go inside soon.” Despite his words, he didn’t move.

Yamaguchi laughs behind his hand as you smack the blond boy jokingly, again. 

“Enjoy it, Tsukki. The nice weather won’t last forever.”

“That’s a jinx,” Yamaguchi laughs, head sinking into his bag

“That’s superstition,” Tsukishima retorts.

“You both—” Your voice stills at something landing on your forehead and the sun quickly fading. Eyes open, you look up. “Damn it, when did those clouds show up?”

Tsukishima remains flat along the grass in a blasé nature as you and Yamaguchi scramble to collect your things before a downpour starts. On your feet, you sniff at Tsukishima’s uncaring form and yank his bag from beneath his head. He curses as his head hits the ground.

“Come on, string bean! It’s gonna pour!”

You and Yamaguchi are off, turning onto the sidewalk of the park as Tsukishima sits up. On his feet, he takes quick, but unhurried steps to catch up. He’s a few metres behind you when you laugh as the warm water starts hitting your skin with more repetitive force. He sees Yamaguchi grin at your genuine reaction to the warm shower. He feels himself bristle, lips pinching as he watches you grab Yamaguchi’s wrist, dragging him to jump in the quickly forming puddles.

Tsukishima continues to walk a couple of feet behind you until Yamaguchi’s house comes into view. You stand next to the blond, waving to your friend until he ducks behind the door with a damp smile.

Both of your clothes start to cling to your sides, but you seem happy and pay it no mind while Tsukishima tries to pull the fabric off even though the rain continues to act as glue against his skin. Giving up, he steps beside you, reaching for his bag that was still in your hold.

“Give me that,” he huffs.

Smiling, you toss the red bag over. 

He catches it, looping his arm through the handles so that it hangs sideways on his shoulder, pushing against the back of his arm as it tried to distribute its weight normally. 

The two of you walked in silence, letting the pouring rain fill any pace that words would have. Tsukishima watches as you kick small puddles and swing your arms. Calmly keeping an eye out for when you might slip.

Your home shows up sooner than expected. Giving the blond a smile, you adjust your bag, ready to hop through the rain for the last few seconds before you reach your door.

Tsukishima catches your fingers at the last second, pulling you back with enough force to have you stumbling. Instead of smacking him, you get out a laugh, meeting his eyes with a joyful grin.

He paused for a moment. Words stuck in his throat as he watches the clear water roll down your cheek, catching on the edge of your grinning lip before falling off your chin. He gulps, looking at your fingers sitting delicately in his before meeting your eyes again.

“Try not to hurt your arms any further, it’ll irritate your skin,” he says, dropping your hand slowly. Letting your last finger cling to the tip of his for an extra moment before it flicks off, making water fly with the movement. “And take a shower. You don’t want to get sick.”

Your grin turns mischievous. “But if I get sick, you’ll take care of me right?”

“No.”

You laugh, taking steps backwards in a drunken pattern, inconsistent as you sway in the falling rain. “Fine, fine. But I’ll take care of you. Okay?”

Tsukishima isn’t able to get a word in before you're laughing as you run up to your door.

Ironically enough, Tsukishima wakes up the next day with you hovering over him, placing a cold towel on his forehead as Yamaguchi writes in his notebook at his desk. Whether it was the fever or the contrast temperature of the towel, he feels himself burn under your smiling gaze as you take care of him.

Wow, look at that. Present tense. That’s new coming from me. I Like it.

I am flabbergasted, this is so touching! I find it hard to believe that anyone remembers following me, much less considers me a sort of introduction to the community! Thank you, angel, this made my day!!

We ALL know at least one thing that is underrated–whether it be a person, an idea, an object, a song, a movie, a television show, yadda yadda. For instance, I think eggplant and kiwis are underrated, as are Meet the Robinsons, The Princess and the Frog, The Emperor’s New Groove, 2-D animation, NCT 127, “Lost Boy” by Ruth B, and “Holy” by King Princess. You’ll see that this may or may not be the same case for the dairy free Halo Top flavors Toasted Coconut and Vanilla Maple.

Here’s the deal: I wasn’t too enthused about taste-testing these flavors either. Don’t get me wrong–I love a good coconut or vanilla ice cream, but the buzz around these two varieties are just a fraction of what the flavors like peanut butter cup and cookie dough receive. But I thought I’d just cut to the chase with these two bad boys and dive right into the reviews rather than blabbering more about what’s underrated and such.

Massive credits to the designer of this packaging. I love that the toasted coconut flakes cover the white backdrop–it just adds a fun confetti effect along with the contrasting dark brown ice cream scoop and orange-beige stripe. Nutritional facts match those of the peanut butter cup, caramel macchiato, sea salt caramel, and pancakes and waffles. Upon opening the lid, I found SO many toasted coconut flakes inside. That made me really happy.

You wanna know what made me even happier than glancing at the coconut flakes in the ice cream? TASTING THEM (duh). My gosh, I was incredibly shocked by how nearly perfectly the flavors scoops out. Each scoop is nice and round rather than just rocky and crumbly like many of the other flavors (*cough* chocolate covered banana *cough*). I ended up topping my bowl with rice cereal, strawberries, and blueberries, but I could have honestly enjoyed the ice cream by itself just as much. While the toasted coconut flakes are a little wilted in the base, they are still crunchy enough to contrast with the smooth ice cream. I have and will continue to purchase this flavor again!

As for vanilla maple, the design is a lot more simple. Then again, aside from maple leaves and vanilla bean flowers and pods, there really isn’t too many iconic designs you can use for those two foods. On the flip side, design doesn’t matter that much to me. The nutritional facts are on the modest side, so this flavor is one of the lower calorie options in the vegan line. Not going to lie, when I unveiled the ice cream itself, I wasn’t too enthused. The vanilla bean particles were promising, but that weird middle lump of ice cream was not.

Like the toasted coconut flavor, I created a vanilla maple ice cream bowl with a little bit of Trader Joe’s peanut butter protein granola, Special K red berry flakes, and fresh strawberries! The flavor itself was wonderful, but I was flabbergasted by its consistency! Thick, creamy, silky smooth, and perfectly rounded scoops? Nothing could have been more satisfying than this. Being vanilla maple, this ice cream would fare more strongly if it’s paired with something rich like chocolate or peanut butter. In other words, it works more as a nice base for any flavor you can customize.

OVERALL

Pleasant surprises are always a plus. It’s wonderful to discover some hidden gems, gems that I would definitely see myself getting hooked on. Toasted coconut is a sensational ice cream in itself, but the vanilla maple works as a splendid base for any flavor of your liking. Hey, if that means creating a vegan cookies n’ cream-style Halo Top or a red velvet Halo Top before the actual company manufactures those flavors in the dairy free line, then I’m absolutely down!

Bad Taste is Crystal’s pick and for her, it starts off a little slow, but she loves how it ramps up and thinks it is hilarious. She also loves the aliens, commenting, “I love their butts.” Bad Taste has the feeling of a bunch of friends who got together to make a movie and in that way, reminds Bill of Equinox (1970). He’s amazed at how ambitious the filmmakers were and how impressive the special effects are, especially on its low budget. Chad tells how he used to remove the 2nd-finger-sticker from the box art and give it a strategic placement on other VHS boxes. He calls Bad Taste a great combination of gore, splatter, comedy, and absurd scenarios but he still wishes there were more exploding sheep. Jeff is flabbergasted and flummoxed that Jackson et al stuck with it for four years, calling Bad Taste amazing, amazing, amazing!

Oh man, uuhh tbh sleep is interesting to me, like the fact we just pass out for a few hours a day and it’s totally normal? And even people sleeping together in the same bed, blows my mind (even though I share my bed lmao) I don’t know, maybe it wouldn’t be as fascinating if I was educated about it, but my ignorant brain is kinda flabbergasted by the whole thing.

I like evening or night time, I feel like I’m more creative at those times.

Every day, but especially in today's environment, when we are begging men to stop treating women as objects, I'm frankly flabbergasted that people are overlooking the lyrics in Kiwi because it's a jam. Musically, sure - it's exciting and fun. But the lyrics are garbage and go against everything Harry has purported to stand for in the past. So I don't understand feminists turning a blind eye to it because they think it's fun. Cuz I bet Harvey Weinstein would think it's a neato song, too.

Real question: do you know you’re being emotionally manipulative? Are you doing it for impact? Do you know and not care? Are you not self-aware?

Second question: do you listen to pop music? There are very few songs that I hear on the regular radio that aren’t some level of problematic. Should I never listen to music again? Kiwi is so far from the worst song even out there right now.

And I’m not saying he shouldn’t do better, but please miss me with the contrived Harvey Weinstein crack.

Hi I just listened to Harry Style's new album for the first time and holy shit?! It's so good I want to cry. Ive never listened to him before and I'm wildly impressed.

Of course I admit C9's edits are better. And, do you guys believe in "anime things which not exist set in reality?" A Kiwi uploades a YT vid with Alexs fragment stream some time ago, and a crazy fan came today with an excuse for a debacle if YS is based on real Japan or anime "It's mixed!! An anime set with reality!!" and flabbergasted me with that "you must really like (alex) if you criticise him, don't cha" I mean, NO. Not after what he done.

I'm not exactly sure what that means, so correct me if I am mistaken. Assuming that it means anime that has realistic elements, of course that can happen. There are plenty of anime series and games that are realistic, but YS is not one of them. -Mod Sega

LAFERNE BREAKDOWN Sooo, THIS just happened. LaFerne is feeling a little bit under the weather and is getting dragged away by this hot pink tow truck for some TLC, for a new master and slave cylinder (never knew she was into that kind of stuff) sooo, instead of grade 5 white water rafting, we will be hanging around garages!
