THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Gambling, scheming gisaengs, deadbeat fathers, palace brainwashing, training montages, rebellion thwarting, opium incense, assassins, young love, gangsters, setting houses on fire, and good meals.

HOT TAKE: This show does not disappoint on the title. Any chance they can throw some gambling into a scene, they will do it. There's some great familiar faces and some even greater individual performances, despite the dragged-out plot.

okayy so childhood hyperfixation is back and imma probably ramble a lot about running man here ehe (nah dw i'm still gonna continue making rotbtd funsies tho rahhhhhh!) anw i genuinely LOVE how the members are so supportive towards each other, i found out that haha made a comeback with his song "gap" and kwang soo's IN THE MV??? uagsdhjadgjhd i should've known this sooner bruhhhhhh and then during the old days some of the members would make a cameo in each other's projects it's just so cute bhabsdhadh. i think gary's "lonely night" mv is my favorite, it's just so peaceful and stressful and somehow comforting (i got so emotional too, it's like coming back to a place where i used to live and be happy damn). the "gap" mv is along with this one tho, i was genuinely shocked to see kwang soo appeared and the lyrics is genuinely deep, the mv itself got me hooked like it's SO interestingggg! it also made me see this "other side" of the members, kwang soo who's able to act serious and terrified me at some point lmao, and haha who's able to pour his heart out and made a really cool comeback like augsdashjdgsahjdgj

i do wonder if so min and se chan did the same thing, gotta do some dig in tho lol

Flat out has to be one of the most depressing but romantic melancholy healing kdramas. Male lead’s character is written in the most whump’ness way. Don’t get me wrong female lead’s character is just as whumpy, but oofing ML is dialed up to 💯 No matter the storyline flows excellently despite some questionable editing choices. Gosh knows how many slow motion scenes this drama, if you took a shot every time there was one you’d be drunk by the end of the episode. Despite that everyone did an outstanding job, both leads chemistry was oozing on screen, I mean honestly I’m a bit bias always with Kim Young Kwang dramas. For me there’s never a drama I disliked of his. He always manages to pull off excellent dramas (still standing on that D-Day is top fav) If you love melodramas, this should definitely be a must watch!

Hem izleyici olarak benim için hem de Lee Sung-Kyung için garip ve farklı bir deneyimdi. Dizi baştan sona ağır bir melodram olarak sürdü gitti. Acıları anlattı, acılardan beslendi, ölecek öldürecek gibi yaptı ama sürünsek de herkes yaşadı. Öyle tanıdık ama beklenmedik bir havası vardı ki, içine girdikten sonra çıkamıyorsunuz. Lee Sung-Kyung’un da bu anlamda ilk ciddi rolüydü. Daha komedisi ağır yapımlarda oynadığı için bu kadar ciddi bir rolde, bu kadar mutsuz bir karakter olarak izlemek bizim için ilginç onun için yeniydi.

Sim Woo-Joo(Lee Sung-Kyung), Sim Hye-Sung(Kim Ye-Won) ve Sim Ji-Gu (Jang Sung-Bum) üç kardeştir. Babaları Sim Chul-Min(Ahn Nae-Sang) çocuklar küçükken evi terk edip metresi Ma Hee-Ja(Nam Gi-Ae) ile kaçıyor. Anneleri Kim Hyun-Joo(Kim Hee-Jung) ise ağır bir bunalım ile çocuklarını tek başına büyütüyor. Çocuklar büyünce de küçük bir sahil kasabasına yerleşiyor. Ailelerinden kalan evde birbirlerine destek olmaya çalışarak yaşayan bu üç kardeş bir gün babalarının metresinin yaşadıkları evi satılığa koyduğunu ��ğreniyorlar. Meğer baba ölmüş, ev metrese kalmış.

Bu noktada baş rolümüz ortanca kardeş Sim Woo-Joo, bütün bunların acısını metresin oğlu Han Dong-Jin(Kim Young-Kwang)nden çıkartmaya karar veriyor. En ufakları şarkıcı olmaya çalıştığı için hiçbir katkısı yokken, en büyükleri olan kardeş ise bir bankada çalışan sürekli birilerine aşık çok da stabil olmayan bir karakter. Evden de atıldıkları için çok eski bir arkadaşları olan Yoon Jun (Sung Joon)’un yanına taşınıyorlar. Yoon Jun bir anda üç kardeşin abisi gibi oluyor.

Ve başrol erkeğimiz; metresin oğlu Han Dong-Jin(Kim Young-Kwang). Kendi işini ayakta tutmaya çalışan orta halli, son derece sessiz ve depresif bir karakterdi. Babası öldükten sonra annesinin beraber olduğu hatta evlenip boşandığı erkeklerden olabildiğince uzak olmak için uzun süredir annesi ile çok nadiren görüştüğü bir hayat yaşıyor. Genel bir mutsuzluk hali var. Hayattan zevk alabilecek hiçbir aktivitesi ve hevesi yok. Ara ara gösterdikleri, eski ilişkisi Kang Min-Young( Ahn Hee-Yeon) ile de işlerin oldukça olumsuz gittiğini anlayabiliyorsunuz.

Dizi bu iki depresif karakterin aslında birbirlerine ne kadar çok benzediklerini anladıkları süreci anlatıyor. Ama o kadar naif bir şekilde anlatıyor ki izlerken hem merak ediyor hem üzülüyorsunuz. “Kader ağlarını nasıl örüyor” başlığı altında bir hikaye izlerken, zorlama yapılan hiçbir şey yok. Sanki her şey olacağına varıyor. Başrollerde oynayan oyuncuların eskiye dayanan bir arkadaşlıkları olması nedeni ile normalde aralarında sürekli şakalaşıyorlarmış. Ancak ikisinin de karakteri bu kadar melankolik olduğu için sette birbirlerinden uzak durmayı tercih etmişler. Bu şekilde role daha iyi konsantre olacaklarını düşünmüşler. Ancak bu melankoli uzunca bir süre çekimlerden sonra bile ikisi içinde üstlerinden hiç atamayacakları hissiyatını getirmiş. Bir röportaj sırasında bu durumdan kurtulamayacağız herhalde diye endişelendiklerini dile getirmişler.

Toparlarsak ben çok beğendim. Dizinin naifliğinden ve o istemsiz mazoşist havasından keyif aldım. İkili dışındaki bütün oyuncularda ayrı ayrı oyunculuk konusunda kendisini ispat etmiş son derece profesyonellerdi. En büyük kardeş olan Sim Hye-Sung’nun karakter gelişimi izlemeye değerdi. Kardeşlere kol kanat geren Yoon Jun ise ayakları sapasağlam yere basan dizinin bel kemiği gibiydi. Biraz acı çekmekten rahatsız olmayacaksanız dizi size de enfes gelecektir.

Today's Webtoon

For someone that likes to read webtoons, this series was so nice to watch. It gives us a window to how webtoon creation and publication works. I like the characters: artists and the PDs. Their stories ranged from sweet to sad, but it was great to see the all reached their own happiness. Even though this series is not a romantic drama, it did have its romantic touches that made it sweeter. It leaves this subplot in the opening as they accomplish their dream as a team and move on to the next collective dream. I wonder what will happen with Oh Ma Eum's relationship with Seok Ji Hyung and Jun Yeong. But even though it leaves that question open, it doesn't leave me disappointed or wanting to know what happens. I think that it just reminds us that life continues even after one chapter of our lives ends and things will happen at their own sweet time, there is no need to force things.

Work drama that will keep you smiling and cheering for the characters. Really loved it.
