This 2021 SDCC panel is also one of the reasons I couldn't agree with some of the stuff tumblr posts last year had stated... which was mostly made up! ie "Stan didn't actually work on the show" or

Like you can see the joy emanating from their faces when Stan and the cast and other crew explain their parts in the show... I can't believe any of them would hate it, whether this was a promo video or not xD Like... you don't go to a SDCC panel of the show you made if you... absolutely hated working on it. idk, it just doesn't make sense. I get that seeing a show or characters from a fandom lens makes people hate that show/characters make stuff up about the show later (i.e. other fans hating on Yuichi Usagi, just as a concept, bc of the ship/shipping, I get it) but it just seems... so strangely petty. Plus non-shipping fans might have been mad that this was not a direct adaptation.... Again I get it! I've been there with other stuff. But whether a show is good or bad, it seems mean-spirited to just lie about the crew or creators of it. It's okay to admit that you had different expectations about it. Yes, it's aimed at a younger viewership and does not directly adapt the darker aspects of the comic, but, that's wholly because of circumstance (Netflix show) and the show is good despite that. Your view of it can simply depend, well, on your view on spinoffs and animation in general, when you watched, what mood you were in. Whatever opinions fans might have, this panel seems to suggest the cast and crew had a mostly good time on it. Unless everyone here is some sort of pathological liar.

"UBLOG: Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles debuted its first season on Netflix, and has already been renewed. What was it like finally getting to see your characters come to life in that way, and how pleased are you that it was so well received? Sakai: We at Usagi Studios are very pleased with Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles. The protagonist Yuichi is a direct descendant of my Miyamoto Usagi who is featured very prominently and with a twist that I thought was brilliant. We worked very closely with Gaumont and Netflix, approving/adjusting scripts, designs, suggesting voice actors, etc. I even calligraphed (by hand) the logo for the series. Samurai Rabbit expanded on a mini-series I created titled “Senso” inspired by HG Wells’ War of the Worlds wherein the martians invaded feudal Japan instead. Japan took that alien technology and developed it, adding their own cultural elements. Samurai Rabbit takes place in the future with Yuichi a young samurai in training who worships his famous (or infamous) ancestor, Usagi. Like my Usagi stories, Samurai Rabbit is very character driven and the first season tells of Yuichi meeting what is to become his core group of friends as they battle yokai, the haunts and monsters of Japanese folklore. I’m so glad that a second season is coming up."

i cannot imagine Stan Sakai Lying. like. LEGIT i cannot so i don't get why ppl make stuff up abt the show. it hasn't been very egregious so far, just stuff in tags and reblogs, but still. weird. fandom is weird abt stuff like this lol! I also do not get the hate that the show itself and the character of Yuichi Usagi get for basically. Not being what people imagined in their heads of an Usagi Yojimbo spinoff. I kind of get that part, because when Avatar: LOK was previewed in 2011, I imagined such a vast and colorful version of the show based on just 2 art pieces, I was caught a bit off-guard by the 1st season's premiere, and completely let down by the 2nd season. So I get that part at least. Many articles seemed to suggest that this show would be an adaptation, and I am guessing this is where people's expectations rose ten-fold in a similar way to my 2011 self. From interviews, I sense that the crew had similar expectations when they joined: a Usagi aniamted project with Stan Sakai directly involved! I'd be asking to be on the show too if I'd been a Gaumont studios member at the time.

The mountain is high and it is hard to surpass. When Netflix ordered the show to be about a younger Usagi and gear it for a younger audience too, I find that perhaps the Gaumont and Usagi Studios crew also saw this. In a fan's eyes, almost no one could match Stan Sakai in his storytelling, and the crew are big fans of his work. So it would make sense that they started to see the show they were developing differently. Instead of something like the 2003 adaptation of Miyamoto Usagi, where they make him younger and change his story a bit, the SR crew saw an opportunity. Lets make it about a descendant and a whole different setting, yeah? So the show becomes something quite different, but more manageable now. The mountain seems more like a long trek than an unpassable task.

But it also seems from every interview and official release I've seen that most of the people working on the show really liked what they made and liked working on it, even if it wasn't a direct adaptation of Usagi Yojimbo, something most of the crew were a fan of already themselves.

also, the series was worked on at least since 2018. Yeah, it's aimed at a younger audience, but a lot of effort seems to be put into it anyway, from writing, acting and art aspects all-around, so it just doesn't seem like something that people would feel the need to lie about. it's a good show. It is just not a direct adaptation of the comics, that people have been wanting, or something "style adjacent" to the comics, e.g. what people expect of the comics (that it's only dark and gritty).

A 2019 comicon.com article sharing a facebook photo at Gaumont studios with Stan is the perfect example of this - "This studio is known for their work on the original Redwall animated series. Judging by the key art shown above and Gaumont’s location in Paris, I hope that the animated series will remain faithful to the darker tone of the comics." - of course an article by a reader of the comic would have something like this, but we can see as early as this, the writer is setting themselves up for higher expectations for the series. Which I don't find fault in, who doesn't want a cool animated adaptation of their favourite comic? But comparing a studio now to what the studio was 15-20 years before is like setting the reader up for expectations that are too unrealistic. Redwall is a beautiful adaptation, but each show/series will almost always have a different team of people working on, so from an animation work POV, it just seems like something unrealistic. Animation industry, both western and otherwise, has always been something that can't always cater to all interests.

not-so-hot take but: it's actually good that it's not a direct adaptation!

The expectations people put on any adaptations/projects based on an older thing, is probably also a huge factor in why both younger and older fans (both shppers and the fans of the comic) feel so terse about the series, when in reality, it's possibly the best result we could get for a netflix adaptation (if I look at any anime/manga live-action adaptations for example, netflix has sort of "dropped the ball" on many of these). The series having loose and not-so-loose connections to the comics canon basically ensures that nothing about the comics canon is ever changed much, or that Stan is never obligated to change the comic for the show. The comic and show are allowed to be separate, but the show is also an homage and open fanart to the comic.

This also means that whether viewers hate or love the series, perhaps having a non-adaptation og series based on the comic... means they will actually read the comic itself now. I see this with both liveaction and animated adaptations, but ppl usually don't pick up the og source material based on just one adaptation, and if the adaptation is good or faithful, they still won't - thinking of TMNT 2003 but also Rise series haters who insist Raph doesn't use Tonfa, when that was a og comics reference lol - there's no trust that the animation folk working on your favourite properties adaptation are ALSO FANS of the same thing. So the chances for that might be similar. If people are happy with an adaptation, they might be less likely to seek out more of it. But I just find this series an interesting attempt from that POV. It almost feels similar to what Transmedia Storytelling is explained as a technique - of telling a story across multiple platforms, adding something unique each time.

A direct retelling is different from an original piece or continuation set in the same universe. Imagine that Usagi Yojimbo, the original comic, is like a tentpole that readers gather around. As time grows on, different animated adaptations occur, some tabletop games, a theather play etc. Different media for Usagi to inhabit as a character and a concept. And then comes along Samurai Rabbit, wholly not an adaptation of the comic's stories at all, but something inspired of it, building on it, not changing it much, but still adding to the canon in its own way (the existence of the Ki-Stone in this show). It's different but it's entirely a work made out of love for the comic, and you can see it in the different aspects it adapts from the comic (the 2D sequences, the skull-death-bubbles, the references to the comic, how it shows Miyamoto Usagi) and how it approcahes the characters as a cast.

So because Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles is not a strict retelling of any of the comics narratives, it allows itself room to explore and grow as its own thing, while also loosely adding to the canon in an interesting and unique way.

I hope phrasing the show from that vantage point gives other existing a different view on it.

this show also credits everyone in the production, including even the 3D animation company (a lot of animated shows only credit the company itself, or at least used to do this a lot) so I think that speaks a lot about how the production sees the show itself. The people making the show are valuable and did well, whatever the reception is going to be. And genuinely, I hope it was actually a good experience working on the show for all of the cast and crew.

(soley based on me misreading a diff post and now wanting to see mai in a keira knightly getup) (also everything i know abt pirates is based on the pirates of the caribbean, treasure planet and black sails and hasty 2 am googling) (also also big fucking shoutout to @s-suki for helping me with this)

the gaang's ship - aka The Avatar

yue is captain!!! (@s-suki ur brain is huge and i luv u) so from what i know being a captain is a looot abt politics and u know our girl yue is good at that, not to mention how much her crew loves her bc she gives everything for them

sokka is navigator, one look at the stars and he knows where they are instantly, he charts a course in record time, captains have in fact fought over him but he is nothing but loyal to his captain!!!

aang spends at least half his time in the sails, as lookout and keeping knots secure(? idk shit abt sailing haha) he’s also the fastest one they got, no matter if he’s running, swimming or paddling a small boat

suki is the best fighter they have bc of course she is (also theres no misogyny in this bc i said so) grown men shit themselves when they see her / also shes boatswain (the boatswain was in charge of a ship's anchors, cordage, colors, deck crew and the ship's boats, and would also be in charge of the rigging while the ship was in dock)

toph! makes! bombs! also if u give her a gun that u found thats been underwater for three months and u give her like 2 hours, not only is it completely functional afterwards but it somehow works better than before?

katara is quartermaster and shes def like 30% of how yue keeps her crew in line

haru is ship cook (i know this has zero connection to canon but have you considered boi soft and warm like bread)

teo is the ships carpenter (highest ranking if they got more than one)

jet is a fighter obvs, also him and sokka do NOT get along but yue has this real icy stare that makes them both shut up immediately

smellerbee is dating toph and yue is not opposed to their relationship but does make sure theyre not around eachother too much when explosives are also near bc those 2 def get up to some wild shit

longshot is obvs the best shot they have and is the other lookout

appa is a parrot and he spends all of his time being adorable

momo is still a lemur and just steals so much shit

on to the firenation

ozai rules over a whole ass port/island or smth idk but like all the pirates have to deal with his fucking bullshit

zhao is his 2nd in command and yue at some point guts him 😊

azula is of course captain of her ship and she rules with an iron fist

mai is first mate (making any possible future betrayals that much worse)

ty lee is ship medic and just constantly gets underestimated in fights and wins like right away

zukos life motto on azulas ship is 'i hate it here' bc his job is basically everything nobody else wants to do (until! he is no longer on the ship. does he get pushed off the ship to drown? does he leave in the night with all the valuables he can carry and a map of a great prize? idk, YOU DECIDE)

more thoughts on zuko:

i dont think he’d join the gaang right away after he’s no longer with the fire nation but would first like half-die on some island (even if he didn’t get kicked off, i just imagine he’d do smth drastic like think he can sail a ship without getting lost just bc he’s spent a lot of time on a ship but like, honey no, navigation isnt as easy as it looks) bc zuko alone u kno

iroh is still his uncle in this, but zuko doesnt know that, so he thinks he’s just this weird hermit guy that finds him and takes him in

zuko is like "what does he want? what his secret agenda? how will this guy use this against me?" and iroh is just like "boy! eat something but also are u like okay? u want some cryptic advice thats consisting of 60 ocean metaphors?"

iroh does tell him hes his uncle tho and that he left when zuko was really young and he wasnt the only one who ran from that house that day...

URSA IS ALIVE!

she had been banished by ozai and threatened with zukos murder if she had stayed, ozai wouldve killed her but he knew he couldnt take her in a straight fight and if she had been the type you could assassinate they wouldntve ever gotten together anyway

now shes vibing with iroh and lu ten, because yes lu ten is alive (listen if there is any feasable way of my boi to be alive he is!!!)

also they’re def supporting everyone who opposes ozai as asafely as they can on whatever weird remote island theyre at

once zuko joins the crew of the avatar, sokka laughs like straight five minutes abt zuko thinking he could navigate his stolen boat after not even learning how to properly read a map, not to mention everything else that goes into navigating and zuko is like "fuck u" and sokka is like "lets show u how to read a map so this doesnt happen again" still with tears of laughter in his eyes, and maybe later when hes been on the crew for longer and maybe saved sokkas life in a fight, sokka teaches him abt the stars too and cue zuko pining after the way too beautiful guy trying to explain constellations but zuko just keeps getting lost in his eyes and being hyper aware of how close sokkas arm is when he points out specific stars

the reason zuko joins them in the first place is bc the avatar is the only crew that could protect him against azula and ozai and they’re the only ones willing/able to go up against the fire nation

also katara is the first to see zuko after he parted with the fn and she like immediately has a sword to his throat and boi just fucking faints

maybe jee is also a captain in this bc i really like it when the wani shows up in fanfics and maybe they’re not on good terms with ozai but they’re flying under the radar bc its just a small ship and they do bring in their percentage so maybe zuko joins his crew before he goes to find the gaang?

now some general thoughts:

the dai lee is the chinese navy out to get them all

miyuki is one of their highest ranking officers and gives the pirates a run for their money, but weirdly never goes to chase the Avatar

hakoda is also a captain but he’s working under ozai to take the operation down from the inside (also yes of course his husband bato is also there with him ^^)

kue is absolutely some weird hermit guy

bias explanation tag

ok so @banana-jiayou tagged me to do this about one month ago and me being the forgetful person that i am, am just getting around to it now!!!

nini actually tagged me to talk about either my banana or my mr-x bias, but because i still consider myself as “developing” my bias order in mr-x (altho anyone can probably tell im leaning towards luo zheng) i’ll go with banana kids!!

you may know already, my banana bias is Lu Dinghao 🌞🌞

(i dug deep into my #ludinghao tag to try to piece together what i can remember of what happened hahahha)

the rest will go under the cut bc i think this is gonna get kinda long....

Idol Producer Era

you may have seen me rant about this in my tags before, but I really did not plan on watching Idol Producer... at all. I watched p101s2 and it wasn’t the greatest experience for me (kenta and youngmin were my favs ;;;) and so I wasn’t too keen on starting another extremely similar show, because I had little hopes that the kids I’d like would make it to the end, so I thought the show would just end in disappointment for me again.

but! *drumroll please* cue chen linong! (i promise, im getting to dinghao, itll all make sense eventually LOL)

so I forget why, but maybe when I was just on the internet, I heard a LOT about chen linong. (even my friends who don’t watch ip who are just normal taiwanese kids HAVE HEARD OF chen linong. he’s honestly THAT popular in taiwan that regular people who dont care about ip know his name - its crazy!) so i heard he was taiwanese and I heard he was super popular and tons of people loved him. so what did i do? I went and looked up his audition video bc i was like wtf why is this kid so popular?? whats so special about him??

so one audition video, one intro video, one upward!trainee video, and a couple of douyins later, i was officially committed to watching idol producer for chen linong.

the next step, what do I do? go to wikipedia (LOL) and search up what other taiwanese boys are on the show. i immediately notice 3 of them are from banana ent and banana ent actually also has a malaysian child. (which was super interesting to me too bc i have a lot of friends who are southeast asian and southeast asian representation is super cool!!) and so i watched all of the 5 other taiwanese kids’ intro videos and upward!trainee videos. I’ll be honest, at the time none of them stood out to me as strongly as linong (I just love love love smiley guys, and linong’s personality was so strongly taiwanese and so down-to-earth in his audition video, i just couldn’t resist!) but from there, bc 3 of the 6 taiwanese kids were in banana, I knew to look out for the banana kids.

fast forward to episode 2, I watch the banana audition perf and dinghao sort of stands out to me because i usually go for the “happy/ mood-maker” member in kpop groups, so when he introduced himself as “小太陽陸定昊” i was like oo who’s this? also im soft for boys with the curved lip smile thing heheh and so in my curiosity to find out who he is, i look him up and find his instagram! (i didnt have weibo yet) and I start seeing pictures like these and I’m like oh my goodness he’s beautiful :o

but i think julie (@qinfour) was one of the first people i talked to about this, but one of the reasons why i usually like “happy/ mood-maker” members is because I feel like I can relate to them (ie: dinghao) bc I feel similar to them. In high school i was seen as the crazy hyper happy one and people actually thought that i was constantly happy.... all the time... which is impossible. so it was hard for me at times bc when i wasn’t feeling happy, people would discredit my feelings, or as soon as I stopped smiling, people would be like omg whats wrong with you?? so to me, seeing idols who are like that, having a happy, fun exterior but are actually insecure / experiences hardships inside, makes me feel like i can relate to them.

so anyway, so after ep 2 im already like kinda interested in dinghao (but also still interested in linong and the other banana trainees, but he’s on my radar) and so ep 3 rolls around and this HISTORIC xinfan ep from Feb. 2nd comes with it:

(in the original video, the banana part starts around 8:36) and from watching this and dyING of laughter at zhangjing being adorable and sassy and dinghao being HILARIOUS, i was like ok i like them, they’re my fav banana children!! (even tho neither of them are taiwanese and i only became interested in banana in the first place bc they had taiwanese people LOOL) and you may be wondering, what about yanjun?? he was really funny in that video too?? but actually yanjun didn’t stand out to me until around “ai ni” bc he was in the same group as dinghao maybe bc i just didnt get his humor as much??? HAHAHHAHA like zhangjing and dinghao were like SO FUNNY to me but yanjun i was likeee okayyy (i love him and his humor so much now, but idk i just didnt get it back then?? LOL oops sorry yanjun) but yea, it wasn’t until “ai ni” that i started noticing him and then gradually it snowballed into i was MADLY VOTING FOR YANJUN by the the final ep and SUPER EMOTIONAL when he made it into the final 9, like my body was shakinggg, i was so happy !!! (i was MUCH happier with the result than i was with p101s2!)

but anyway, back to the point, I think around this time was when i found out about the “rock the show” mv (it was actually released beforehand, on 1/29 and the dance version 2/6??), and I think i freaked out to violet (@zhu-xingjie) like !!!! wtf is this ?!?? its so good omgomg (something along those lines, at least ;;;) and then after watching the mv i was like ok im def gonna be a banana stan wow they make good music, so talent, super funny members, much visual wow

(tumblr only lets me embed youtube videos, but you can find the official video in HD!! here and the dance version here. id highly recommend watching both if you havent already!!!!!!! the dance version has more closeups???? and i felt even more attacked than i thought was possible after watching the official video???)

and so basically from there, I became a banana stan, focusing on lu dinghao and you zhangjing. and ofc i love zhangjing to bits and he’s so warm-hearted and adorable, but I think I’ll always feel the most connected to dinghao, which is why he became my bias.

some other moments that led me to love him:

his mini chinese lesson because i also struggle with “zhei” but also since then, ive discussed with nini on multiple occasions how weird dinghao’s chinese is?? hahahahahha its like hard to understand sometimes??

4/9 banana boys discussing getting rid of fans at the airport !!!! this is actually one of my favorite videos because LU DINGHAO IS HILARIOUS!!! SO EXTRA WOW

the entire banter with yanjun during the “ai ni” era bc he finally got more screen time!! and also he showed how good of a friend he was to keep voting for yanjun until he just really couldnt anymore

nursery coloring class with chaoze bc dinghao is ridiculous??

during the hot pot ep, just watch for any clips of dinghao and he’s probs doing something ridiculous

the banana family scene from the “boom boom boom” era where dinghao shows his insecurity, bc it was a moment where i felt i could really connect to him, as a flawed and normal human who isn’t happy all the time

fun fact: I think this banana boys post was one of the first i ever translated, probs bc beibei was leaving and im soft for that boy too and bonus you can see in my tags that im already dinghao trash at that point bc i freaking had 芝麻糊 for the first time (and bought it with my own money!!) bc of freaking Lu Dinghao !!! (about two weeks later, i bought a whole pack of it at the grocery store....)

but anyway, so “that’s how the story goes” (gotta include a zzt reference heheh) of how dinghao became my bias... i tried to keep it as relevant to dinghao as i could? lol and i also could be remembering things wrong LOL but basically post-ip, all that’s changed is that i’ve realized dinghao is even weirder than i first realized HAHAH BUT I STILL LOVE HIM.

Ok so I am soft for soft Karl . I'm going to live vicariously through this ask buts boy oh boyarde it's been a hard week and I need some fluff. i am currently very sleep deprived myself so at the very least, im writing from experience.

Sleepy Karl headcanons

-Karl gets hella cranky when he's tired. I don't like to infantilize people but he really is like a damn toddler who just needs a juicebox and a nap. Everything irritates him but he doesn't have the energy to be angry so he just scowls and huffs and pouts and grumbles until you finally have enough and force him to bed.

- he's one of those people who refuse to rest in the middle of something. like if he stops, he knows he won't want to start again so he tries to power through. it has yet to work but his faith in himself is to be admired.

-He gets to a point of maximum snappiness and i think that's when you are best stepping in, putting your foot down and saying "look its time for sleep, the work will still be here when you wake up".

- he has 2 moods of being sleep deprived. 1st is a total drama queen, going on and on about how tired he is and how much he wants to pack this shit in and go to bed but he won't because needs to do just one more thing. He's snappy and grumpy and short with everyone you and himself included. Thankfully this is usually fixed with one or two good nights rest.

-2nd version is a lot quieter and honestly a lot more worrying. Either he doesn't sleep at all or he sleeps for 16 hours at a time and still wakes up exhausted. This doesn't happen often but you've noticed it happening more and more recently, as he steps up production of his metal army . He's got a lot going on in his head and is stressed beyond belief with everything thats going on. He's not snappy or angry or grumpy with you but he does keep insisting he's fine. I guess he just doesn't want you to worry.

-the only thing that helps him when he's like this is time passing and support from you. Don't become overbearing with him because he'll just retreat further. tell him once or twice you're there for him, he can come talk to you if he wants to and leave it at that. its going to take a few weeks but he'll be back to normal eventually.

-I think the best way to get him to go to bed is to just go yourself. don't bother staying up with him because he is stubborn as shit and there's no sense in the both of you having ruined sleeping patterns.

-by all means, make a show of going to bed. Start yawning about an hour before you go, make sure he sees you so he catches your yawns. go put your pajamas on and sit near him for a little while so he knows you're getting ready to go. Maybe shivver a little and say "gosh its cold tonight" so he knows you don't want to sleep alone. if you have a night time ritual like a bath or a cup of tea, try and include him in that or at least announce that you're doing it. the whole idea is to put the thought of sleep in his mind so that when you finally say "im going to bed, are you coming too?" he's more likely to say yes.

- when he's in that second kind of mood however, i wouldn't bother. stay up with him for a while, bring a blankie if you think you might fall asleep on the sofa but don't pressure him to go to bed with you. ask if he wants to talk about it but if not, try to keep things light. If he wants to talk in general or just hear your voice, distract him, if he wants to concentrate, let him. He needs to work this out in his head by himself before he can get any sort of peace and you sort of just need to leave him to it.

- if you do go to bed, maybe try and check on him if you wake up during the night. Often times you'll come downstairs or into his quarters and find him passed out at his desk. throw a blanket around him but dont wake him up, because he'll go right back to work.

- When he finally caves and comes to bed with you he's just going to faceplant into the duvet and pillows, clothes and boots still on. He's going to lie on top and wait for you to invite him in under the sheets. When hes super tired like this,he just wants to be taken care of ; pull off his jacket for him, toss his hat and glasses on the night stand and pull the blankets over him.

-he's not needy by any stretch of the imagination but he is a little clingy when he's tired. He gets cold and wants your warmth, wants you to be big spoon and stroke his back or play with his hair while he falls asleep. I hope you dont mind having a lie in because if he falls asleep holding onto you he absolutely will not let go.

Resident evil Village- Crystals and why theyre important.

CRYSTALS.

THE FUCK ARE THE CRYSTALS?

WHY ARE THERE SO MANY AND WHY ARE THEY IMPORTANT?

Maybe I can answer? Or at the very least, throw out some theories and shit for people to enjoy

All this contains spoilers for the whole game as well as a lot of talk about the lords of the village.

Ok so we know from in game texts that when molded people die, their cells

Calcify and turn into a crystal/crystal quartz. Usually they crumble into nothing, like marguerite baker or eveline at the end of the game. However given that the end of zoe dlc is canon, we know that A) this process can be done on people who are still alive and B) This process is potentially reversible.

So if you look at Zoe in the dlc, she's frozen in crystal as a punishment by Evie, not fully but enough to be unconscious and imobile. Evie does this remotely as punishment for trying to escape her, she doesn't need to see or touch Zoe to do this. Her uncle has to get her “serum” which breaks down the crystals and lets her move again. None of this cures the mold in her body, it’s very likely she’ll be like mia; needing treatment for the mold or having small amounts of mold in her body for the rest of her life. But regardless, Zoe lives, now Something akin to Jill Valentine in re3 and 5. Jill is infected with the t-virus and given a vaccine by Carlos, but this doesn't actually cure her completely. The whole reason re5 even happened was because jill had trace amounts of t-virus in her body ( that wesker then used to make his uroboros stronger and so on).Despite 3 years of medicine, mia still has mold in her; we know this because Rose has mold in her and because miranda was using mia for her mold experiments. She couldnt do that if mia was cured completely

I should stop beating around the bush and get to the point of why I'm even mentioning this. My theory is that if you were able to get the crystalised remains of a mold infected person, you could potentially bring them back to life using serum or something similar.

Now, before you go spitting at me for reaching, hear me out. We know from both Miranda's research and from the BSAA’s field notes that the mutamycte “catalogs” memories of those in the village infected with the mold. In a room adjacent to a large strand of mold, quite close to where you learn Miranda is after some sort of “data” ( later suggested to be Eva’s memories to implant in rose) there is a cave filled with crystals that Ethan can shoot down from the roof and take. This close to the section where karl tells you to exit via a mausoleum, in a graveyard with presumably a lot of dead bodies. Could this cave be the remains of villagers long since dead ? been there so long theyve calcified? Could the mold have Stored them there like some sort of people library?

Before anyone says this is nonsense, know this. Rosemary was crystalised and put into containers. Once her parts were reunited and she was bathed in mold, she was able to come back. Could the same not work for the crystal fragments of the lords and alcinas daughters? They have very large crystal remains, alcina leaves almost her entire body behind as a crystal, much like zoe. If you were to expose these remains to serum to decalcify them and let the mold do its healing thing, could people be revived?

I dont think it's TOO far fetched to say you could put memories in crystal. The crystal resembles quartz, which has the ability to hold an electric charge. Theoretically if it was a particularly special quartz, it could hold the electric impulses from a person's brain when they think and form memories. It's not TOO far out of the reach of science fiction.

This isn't even taking into account the cadou. Yes, it could be a memory thing but It seems to me that it's sort of a signal booster or relay hub for the mold. It could potentially send information to and from the main mold body under the village, explaining why/ how the mold catalogs people without having to touch them like it did with Miranda. For example, On a smaller scale, Donna uses her parasite to spread her powers out over her dolls, but the central parasite is in her face/brain. Or at least, that's the implication. Miranda's diary states she spread her cadou over many dolls, not cadou(s) as in many parasites, just the one. Meaning all the dolls are a part of her singular parasite and thus part of the network for the mold, similar to the mutamycte and its network of villagers , lycans and other infected.

I know I don't have much canon proof. This is mostly me speculating and it’s unlikely we’ll ever get confirmation, even in dlc form.

BUT.

It’s my theory that Ethan is carrying around the cadou parasites in crystals, not just the crystal remains, which means he is not only carrying around their bodies but also potentially their memories, which is all that would be needed to revive the person, should the right conditions be met.

We very clearly see enemies crumble to dust when they die, it would be hard to bring someone back from that. However in the case of the lords, parts are left, much larger amounts of dry mold than the rest of the enemies, with the exception of Donna.

However her real parasite could be in Angie, who survives the fight and is something we can carry with us. Same with Alcina, we see her being fed the parasite by Miranda in one of her journals, meaning her parasite is in her chest. What part of her remains do we take with us?

How would the five lords react to the SO death.

Each one would die from heart break

ssksksksk SO I ACTUALLY HAVENT FLESHED OUT HOW I WRITE ANY OF THE LORDS EXCEPT HEISENBERG. IM STILL IN THE PROCESS OF DOING IT BUT ILL CERTAINLY GIVE THEM ALL A GO

Miranda

Miranda is completely at a loss over your death. She now needs 2 vessels to bring back both her greatest loves. She's even more violent than before, stepping up her experiments and expanding the mold to dangerous degrees. If somehow she does manage to bring you back, she wont be the same woman you loved, so changed by grief she is virtually unrecognisable. part of her wanted to curl up and die, just as she had done with Eva but she knew she had to press on, no matter the cost to her or the world at large.

Alcina

Alcina is dramatic but perhaps justifiably so. She's never loved anyone as she did you. Learning that you had died was physically painful for her. she goes through the stages of grief quicker than most. First is shock. she laughs at the messenger, tells them they are mistaken. how could YOU have died? she took such good care of you, protected you from everyone and everything. there's no way, they have the wrong address. When the message finally reaches her brain, alcina goes quiet and paler than normal. her eyes are welling up but she tries to stay composed, wait until she is alone before breaking down in a fit of despair. She breaks things, smashes mirrors and windows and screams until her voice gives out. After anger comes depression; alcina spends days if not weeks locked in her personal quarters sobbing and looking over old photos. She doesn't eat or drink, even at her daughters insistence and begins to wither away. They miss you too, you made their mother so happy.

Eventually Miranda interveens, forcing alcina to get a grip and take care of her condition again. She promises alcina if the right vessel can be found, she will bring you back again. Miranda has no intention of following through, but it will ensure Alcina's loyalty for years to come. She adds another rose to her lapel. a white one to represent her pure love for you.

Donna

Donna's reaction to the news of your passing has people a little concerned. she doesn't cry, she doesn't scream, she doesn't even seem to react at all. the only sign that she's even heard the news is that Angie twitches in her hand slightly. Donna removes herself from the situation, literally and figuratively. She takes to her bed, losing interest in even breathing in and out. Angie gathers dust by her bedside and donna hardly moves for days at a time. she seems even more like a ghost than normal.

One day, she appears back with the other lords like nothing has happened, but they can all sense her illness has gotten worse than before. Her flowers sprout everywhere and even the other lords are stuck with her forced hallucinations of you, making them all pretend you're alive and well. When that finally falls through donna disappears again for a few days, returning with a new doll to play with. She brings the you!puppet to meetings, has dinner with it and takes it to bed like its the real thing. Its very unhealthy all round. poor girl just isnt coping well.

Moreau

ok might lose some people with this one but moreau looks to you as a parental figure more than a partner. i don't think he has the mental capacity for such relationships in his current state. Losing you is like a child losing their guardian , just as devastating as losing an s/o albeit in a different way . he wanders about the reservoir looking lost and sobbing. he does that thing that fish do when they're sick, just sitting at the bottom of his lake not moving until the stones start to scratch up his stomach and legs. when someone coaxes him onto dry land he just lies in front of his tv and watches the static, or replays your favorite movie on repeat until the tape wears out. The other lords actually feel for him, they want to help but have no idea how. they just didn't understand your relationship or why you would even want to be around him. His love for you competed with his love for miranda, so she wasn't sad to see you go. After a few days of letting him mope she goes about poisoning Moreau's memory of you. Soon his love for you is replaced with even more fanatic love for miranda. She didn't leave him like you did after all.

Karl

Outwardly, he seems to take it the best out of all of them. He accepts the news somewhat gracefully. i imagine he asks to see your body so he can say goodbye, no matter what state you were in. Actually the state of your body would depend on how well he cold keep it together. no wounds to the point you looked like you were sleeping, he'd spend a lot of time saying goodbye, stroking your hair and cheek, maybe talking to you for a few hours. i imagine he would give you something of his like his necklace or tags so that you would always have a piece of him. He'd keep it together until he was alone, then break down. Karl's response to a lot of negative emotional stimuli is usually anger, but right now he just doesnt have the energy for that. He just sits in his chair or a corner of his lab and drinks until he passes out.

If you were a mangled mess, he would be less stoic. I imagine he would need to be pulled away from your body by the other lords to stop him seeing you in such a state. They dont want his last memory of you to be of blood and gore.

If miranda were responsible? well, somethings getting broken. Karl lets out a massive discharge of electricity that takes out a lot of the electrics in the building. foolish, since he'll need to replace them but he just had to get that anger out. He's out for this woman's blood now.

No matter what happened to you, karl is even more determined to get his revenge on miranda. He works all hours of the day and night to perfect his experiments and pull a bride of frankenstein and bring you back somehow. again, like donna, this is not a healthy way to cope but we all know grief does funny things to people

SFW Alphabet: Karl Heisenberg

Long post under the cut lads. no spoilers i can think of but is a bit of speculation

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Karl can be quite rude and sarcastic, even to the people he loves. If you're familiar with the concept of negging, that's sort of what he’s like. It’s mostly done in jest, so i hope you have a good sense of humor. He’s liable to brush off your concerns but i imagine he’d be very hurt and annoyed at himself if he thought he really upset or offended you.

His language of love leans towards gift giving. He likes to tinker and make little things. He’s quite artistic, if you leave him alone for an hour with nothing to do he’ll make origami cranes, bend paperclips into little people or doodle on post it notes. He’ll give you these in an off handed sort of way but he also likes to put time into making things especially for you: metal work sculptures, wood carvings, trinkets and gadgets for you to use.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

I think this was the first thing i ever said about Karl but he looks like he’d be great to go on the piss with, you know? Like he’d be great for a night out but i don't know if i would depend on him for much unless i knew him REALLY well. I imagine you’d go out for a few drinks and wake up the next morning in a kanoo full of strawberries, in someone else's clothes wearing handcuffs and cuddling a penguin you and Karl stole from the zoo. It would be a lot of fun but Karl would not be the person you wanted to spend the next morning with, horrifically hung-over and arguing about the best way to make a fry for breakfast. He seems like the kind of friend to rock up at your house at 3 am , bang on your door with his hammer and yell “Get up loser, we’re going to mcdonalds!” then bodily drag you out of your bed by the feet if you did not come willingly. “Quit your whining, it’ll be fun!” is his favorite phrase.

How would a friendship between you two start? He seems like a really friendly guy in a sort of superficial way. He makes friends easily but the people he can really depend on, he can count on his hand. My mind instantly says you worked at the factory and he invited you out after work? Maybe you made a joke while working and he laughed? Or maybe you were from outside the village, got lost and he gave you directions to the nearest inn? It probably happened from him inserting himself in your life and just dragging you along for the ride

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

The second thing I ever said about Karl is that he looks like he gives GREAT hugs. Man round, man fluffy,Him somft. One might even call him Friend shaped. He hugs as a greeting, as a goodbye and everything in between. He likes to throw his arm around people as he walks places, you on one arm and his hammer in the other. He really strikes me as an incredibly touch starved person. I mean, if he’s as old as the other lords, when's the last time he had a damn hug? They don't strike me as particularly affectionate people, his sister especially. The lycans like pats too! Karl has to give out pats daily or he’ll have a bunch of huffy lycans on his hands. Do you know who never gets pats? Poor Karl!

I worry it's been so long he might not know how to just sit with a friend and cuddle on the sofa. He’d fidget and want to be doing something instead of just relaxing. You’d need to weight him down with a blanket or drape your legs across his lap to keep him there.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

Ehhhh….the long and the short of it is, no and he's not very good at being domestic either. I canon he grew up in the castle, he had servants look after cooking and cleaning and so on. His parents probably never thought he’d live to be ancient and need to know how to cook and clean for himself so he had to learn later in life. Where Alcina was presumably raised to know she’d need to carry on the dimitrescu name, Karl was probably told to think carefully about who he’d want to eventually pass the factory down to. What with being nearly immortal he never gave it much thought and now it just seems pointless to him. He likes his own space too much, the freedom to do whatever and whenever he pleases.

He seems like an incredibly chill person about things that might stress out others, but i feel like he might occasionally stress clean. Maybe something he picked up from one of his parents or a maid who looked after him. Sort of “we’re having company over so the house needs to be spotless “ sort of thing. Again, he’s not good at it, it's mostly just a distraction tactic so he can keep busy and not think about whatever is stressing him out.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

God, I hope he never has to break up with someone. He’s going to be a dramatic mother fucker about it. He has absolutely been broken up with before, many times. Sometimes he forced the other party to break up with him so he wouldn't have to, sometimes they left of their own volition. Karl as a partner can be...an acquired taste. Yes he’s loving but he’s not kind. Yes you would be financially secure, but you’d have to take his name and leave your old life behind. He’s got money but he's going to have to leave you alone a lot to earn it. Then there’s the inlaws. He’s going to have to keep his sister from eating you at thanksgiving dinners, or Donna from making you a part of her doll house or moreau from accidentally drowning you.

All of that is a lot of stress and hassle for one person and he’s more than aware of the sacrifices someone would have to make to be with him long term. Don't even get him started on the whole living forever thing. but,I suppose when you're nearly immortal there's no rush on these sorts of things, is there?

If you break up with him, it's going to be a lot of “yeah i get it” and then sorrow, self pity and drinking in private. A lot of swearing at his dumb family, their dumb rules and this dumb situation he’s found himself in.

If he was angry enough to break up with you over something? He's a drama queen. Seals you in a saw style trap and says you can go if you get out. But to get out you’d have to read some private dms or do the laundry you said you'd do but never did while Karl chirps over the tannoy “OH SO YOU DO KNOW HOW”

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

Uh...im sure ill upset a lot of you reading this but no. Karl doesn't really want to get married. A partner? Sure he’d love one if he could find someone willing to put up with all this bullshit but i spouse? That's different. He’s stuck with you. You're stuck with him and the rest of his family. God help you.

There's a few reasons he’s not in love with this whole commitment thing: first and most pressing is the age thing. What happens if you grow old without him? How will he cope without you? Or worse? What if Miranda decides to make you like them? You’ll be stuck with them forever, your own family will all grow old without you? That was hard enough the first time, how will he do it again? And what if you broke up? He can't just start releasing nearly immortal people into the world willy-nilly. Does he kill you post breakup??? Does he have to keep you in the village forever? What if it makes you miserable? How will he live with himself????

There are more but these are the kinds of things that keep him awake at night. He might do questionable things, bad things even, but something about inflicting that sort of suffering on someone you claim to love makes him feel squirmy and uncomfortable and he just doesn't want to deal with it.

I can foresee an alternate scenario: an arranged marriage to gain the village an ally or more power. Karl is the younger child, Alcina is the one with all the money and power. Perhaps a marriage to the child of a wealthy or powerful person would make some use of the second child? It would probably be someone like Alcina or Miranda who arranged it, Karl would have little say in matters. I don't know how long the engagement would be but I'm certain the wedding day is the first time you two see each other. Karl is doing his best to be suave and charming to his new partner but the man is shitting bricks.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

With people he actually gives a shit about, he really does try hard. He’s not used to having to control his temper or pull his punches or reel himself in. The lycans don't care and if he accidentally kills someone it's not a big deal. Who's going to tell? He has a bit of a temper, just look at how he yelled at Angie and donna. He treats you with kid gloves, like he’s afraid to hurt you, even if you are the kind of person who can handle themselves. Like I said above, he can be rude and hurtful but it's his sense of humor more than any sort of malicious intent. He’s not good at all that “soppy romantic bullshit” like Alcina is but occasionally he can come off with some genuinely sweet things.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

God this man is so fucking touch starved its unreal. Acts like a touch guy with his big ass hammer and cigar but he will absolutely melt if you stroke his hair, shiver and maybe even whimper if it's been a while. He’ll totally deny it after but you know what you heard. As i mentioned earlier, Karl hugs for every occasion and he’ll take them whenever and however he can get them.Definitely smothers you in his chest given the height difference but he also likes to stick his face into the crook of your neck to breath in your scent. I think his favorite kind of hugs are those that start as you walk towards each other then break into a run and leap into his arms and do a little twirl at the end. I think he’s been watching too many romantic movies with his nieces.

Hello! I really like your headcanons, and I'm excited for your fics. If it's possible, can I request some headcanons for Karl's lover getting hurt/killed by Ethan in a way similar to Dimitrescu's daughters? I have a serious thing for angst, and it seems like Karl's a goldmine.

oof nonnie ur gonna give me feelies with this one.

Karl reacts to his S/O's death at ethans hands

-what can i tell you? he reacts about as well as one might expect. in private he breaks down, screams and cries out your name, cursing ethan winters with every fiber of his being.

-In public he seems more composed, but scratch the surface and you'll see he's become worse in every way without you. he's more violent, more sadistic, shorter tempered and angrier than he's ever been. He chain smokes, refuses to eat and drinks more than he ever did with you. If he showed up to a lords meeting drunk as a skunk i wouldn't be surprised. Simply put, he's coping badly and without you he just doesn't care anymore.

-things go flying and i don't just mean because of his magnet powers. When Karl first hears/sees the news, he throws things like alcina threw her vanity ( must run in the family), anything he can get his hands on until wherever he currently is looks like a bomb has hit it, total unbridled destruction.

-Karl is nowhere near as good at keeping composed as Alcina. when she's around ethan she makes jokes and although she's angry, she's still vaguely flirtatious (in a black widow sort of way)with him. in private we see she's still able to think with reason, telling cassandra , the families best hunter, to bring her his head. Karl however? Reason and logic go out the window, he's going to hunt ethan down himself and rip out his spleen with his bare hands.

-finding that Miranda has already killed him however, just sends him spiraling down. He wasn't strong enough to protect you, he wasn't able to convince ethan to kill miranda, he couldn't kill either of them himself. He feels inept, incompetent, inadequate and weak. every negative thing miranda has ever said to him comes to the forefront of his mind.

-Miranda has the gaul to mock Karl while he's in this vulnerable state. Really grind her heel into an open wound. she berets him for being too weak to protect you and take out ethan, makes jokes about how she's cleaning up after her children. i see her being motherly in a very harsh, condescending way. She tells him to be grateful you were killed before he had a chance to get attached and that he should be happy she's taken care of ethan for him.

-I see things going one of two ways. Either karl snaps or he falls into numbness and gives up on revenge:

- If karl snaps under the stress, miranda is going to find out what he's been up to: the army, the coup, trying to steal rose. She goes through him for a shortcut, karl fights like he doesnt care if he lives or dies. without you, theres no point. He loses, unsurprisingly but i dont think the fear comes until miranda refuses to deliver the killing blow. He cant fathom living without you, he wasnt counting on surviving long enough to have to find out what thats like. Sadly for Karl, miranda has gotten quite creative with her punishments over the centuries.

-If he lets himself succumb to despair, he simply becomes miranda's puppet. He has no interest in revenge anymore. whats the point? the whole point of being free was to be with you. and since ethan is dead too his life has no purpose. He gives into his fate at mirandas side, simply because he doesnt care enough to resist anymore

And then karl woke up from his nightmare, you were still lying there very much alive and everything wasnt terrible <3

i love angst nonnie but now ive just made myself sad so im going to write some comfort stuff for myself.

hello i’m here to write a post rambling abt my latest hyperfixation and my thoughts abt it now that i feel i might be getting less serotonin from it these days.

so my latest hyperfixation is fe3/h which i will now be shortening to 3h in hopes that it doesn’t show up in any tags and also i’m too lazy to keep slashing it when i mention it. i’m writing this on the hopes of my interest winding down rn, i feel less excited about it these days than at the beginning of the month when i suddenly decided to look it up/look more into its fandom content after feh released the latest 3h banner. i was talking to my sibling abt it bc i had gotten de/due on a free summon or something idr i just got him and i brought up offhandedly that i shipped him with this other unit in 3h bc having been on the internet and fandom-adjacent spaces since 2019 at least means you see 3h content to some degree. which means the context is that i had somehow seen ash/edue on twitter before and thought it was a cute pairing but didn’t really look more into it bc i didn’t really care as i do not own a switch nor will be getting one any time soon (i could watch a playthrough but idc enough. too many routes and intricacies that would be best understood if i just played it myself, ya know).

anyway. latest feh banner and this convo with my sibling means i look up ash/edue again and for some godforsaken reason THIS TIME i’m like ok. time to FUCKING DIVE IN and so i read a bunch of fics and whew-ee ash/edue brainrot time which is hilarious bc i literally know fuck all about the game and had to read through the fandom wiki walkthrough to get all the plot/story points so i could better understand the individual units and also wtf is going on (which you don’t really need to know imo esp if you’re just looking at a ship which only includes ppl from one house but i wanted to know at this point bc i was in deep-dive mode). i like the physical aesthetics and the personality match of ash/edue so i’m not really surprised i was like ALRIGHT HONING IN but man imo not the greatest thing to get into a series through a singular ship. anyway i was hype so i was coming up with ideas for drawings and looking up general 3h content but now it’s coming to the end of the month and i feel like it’s starting to wane ...

i mean i still like ash/edue but i’m just less interested bc i’ll never really play 3h and even though during this month my sibling actually got 3h and is playing through it rn, i just don’t really feel like playing the actual game bc i already know all the plot twists and points so what’s the point. and also bc i was so ash/edue focused for a bit, now i’m like hehehe only ash/edue when i see general non-ship content but like. i think both these units are interesting past their duo dynamic and i’m not particularly like anti other ships with these units nor do i feel mega uncomfortable seeing other non-ash/edue ships (this makes more sense in context with my a/3 ship struggle posts lmao. but also yeah ngl sometimes i see other a/she ships and i’m like eh i’ve read the supports but i don’t see this ship actually happening. although caspa/she on the other hand ... that’s cute) but i’m like i do actually need to sit with these units individually if i want to better get their personalities bc i’m starting to feel kinda bad that maybe my representations of them aren’t wholly accurate to their general personalities. like actually mentally bad, not just like ‘oh... well too bad whatever’ bc i just be getting caught up in making sure fictional characters fit canon even though sometimes fancontent just be ooc and is accepted regardless. tl;dr of that second point, i feel like my brain is too into shipping mode rn re: these two units and i need to split them in order to better understand them. but also that’s a lot of effort bc tbh i don’t particularly care too much abt 3h as a whole ngl or at least these 2 units are prob not really the units i would stan

idk it’s really stemming from me being like ‘oh ho i know the 3h story’ but then being like lol no i don’t when my sibling is discussing the current happenings during her 3h playthrough. i mean she’s playing the v/erdant wi/nd route which tbh of course i know less abt bc in-game ash/edue really focuses more on the BL and BE houses in terms of interactions/drama but i’m just like :( bc i take fictional stuff too seriously for my mental health. i’m not like having BAD mental health abt it but i can sense when shit might be starting to hit the fan so i’m like :(. also i’m starting to side-eye some ash/edue fancontent bc now i’m starting to think a little more critically abt the pairing and tbh their “paired” ending reads weird to me as a poc living in the US (assumption of ded/ue is a poc and as/he is a white guy) ... like it’s not BAD per se, like as/he isn’t really culturally appropriating but also like ... fellow poc in the US, you know how it feels sometimes when some random white person is like ‘i’m opening this ethnic cuisine restaurant bc i respect the culture so much’. i know that’s not necessarily what’s happening in the “paired” ending and as/he isn’t being one of those uppity white ppl who try to “better” the ethnic cuisine but man makes you think. i’ve only read TWO fanfics that explicitly was like ‘man it’s fucked up that a white person has to be this ethnicity’s ambassador huh?’ which makes me a lil sad in retrospect (also the 2nd fic i’m thinking of isn’t even in-game canon, it’s a modern au that talks abt cultural appropriation differently so like is it even the same). anyway i actually haven’t read the paired ending text in a while so maybe i’m remembering it wrong but i’ve personally changed it up a little in my headcanon so that the inn is just a general inn that as/he just so happens to serve some du/scar dishes at to normalize their inclusion into f/odlan culture. anyway this convo about 3h’s treatment of poc is a whole other story and discussion lol, my sibling and i were discussing it last night so that’s why i’m bringing it up

I’m super bored so I figured I make a master post thing of all my fic WIPs mainly to help organise my thought and hopefully motivate me to write more, but also just in case people a curious as to what’s knocking about in my noggin

One-shots:

Klaus and Dave spend their first winter together after Vietnam. The snow reminds Klaus of all the winters he spent on the street but Dave is there to make him feel better

Conversation between Allison and Klaus about what he meant when he said ‘confessing my love to a young gay man who doesn’t know he’s gay’ and ‘carrying the touch for a soldier who doesn’t know I exist yet’

Sort of character study - Dave exploring all of Klaus’s scars & tattoos while they’re in Saigon

Klaus and Dave are neighbors and start leaving post-it notes for each other

Sequel to ‘I’m not dead just floating’ - Klaus coming to terms with Dave being alive; lots of fluff including them getting to go on their first proper date; Diego finding out his brother is screwing his ex’s best friend

2nd sequel to INDJF that’s just emotional smut

Multi-chapter fics:

Rewrite of ‘home is where the heart is’

I haven’t updated this fic in over a year & I wanna redo it in line with S2

Basically Dave lives and Klaus stays. They move into a place in upstate New York, end up adopting 2 kids (Libby & Benji) and basically live in domestic bliss

Sissy is a single mum who lives nearby. Her and Klaus are BFFs. She babysits their kids, Klaus and Dave babysit Harlan & it’s very wholesome

When the rest of siblings time travel after S1 they end scattered across New York in the early 70s. Most of the plot point remains the same - Allison meets Ray who’s a civil rights lawyer/activist; Luther gets involved with the mafia; Diego gets sectioned for going on about how he’s going to time travel and save JFK; Vanya meets sissy & moves in with her

Klaus has a few near misses where he almost finds his siblings (i.e. Dave is reading the article about Diego getting arrest & Klaus jokes about it sounding like his brother. Sissy mentions Vanya living with her/looking for her family - Dave suggest it might Klaus sister but he shuts its down bc how did Vanya time travel??)

Klaus finds Vanya first, but have no idea about that the apocalypse or that their siblings are

Ben gets stuck with another sibling (probably Vanya or Diego) he rips Klaus a new one when they reunite for not wanting to find the rest of their siblings

I don’t really have much of plot details settled but there’s the usual shinanigans of commission and FBI shit. They don’t find Reggie bc someone suggests maybe telling him about the umbrella academy might screw the timeline

I have a few ending including

Super happy ending no ones hurt, Klaus and Dave either stay or go to 2019 but everyone ends on good terms

Dave get shot again, they all go back the future. It’s a close call but Grace is able to save him. Five gives Klaus the briefcase & the option to stay or go back to the 70′s

Super sad ending of Klaus going back to 2019 to help on the promise he can then go back to 1970′s once apocalypse is stopped but something happens and he gets stranded. He has to deal with the consequences of abandoning Dave and his kids. (Maybe Klaus end up meeting his now-grownup kids. They grew up on stories from Dave about how their dad was a superhero who had to leave to save the world, but hold a lot of resentment against Klaus)

Russian doll AU

This one is actually on AO3 but on an indefinite hiatus

No powers AU - Klaus gets stuck in time loop of constantly dying on his birthday. He meets Dave who is also stuck in the loop and they team up to try and solve it

Commission AU

Handler finds Klaus after Dave dies but before he leaves Vietnam. She offers him a deal - work for the commission & they’ll save Dave. Klaus and Dave become partners in the commission

The handler sends them to 2019 and manipulates them to help trigger the apocalypse

She basically pits Klaus and Vanya against the others with the intention of getting the Umbrella Academy to kill Dave & triggering Klaus to start the apocalypse

Post-S2

After a fight with the sparrows the briefcase gets damaged & Klaus ends up in an alternate timeline where Dave wasn’t killed the two of them settled down together.

The longer he stays the more memories he accumulates from this timelines version of himself & the more he forgets about the original timeline (to the point where he convinces himself it’s all just a reoccurring dream)

He runs into Lila who has been hopping across timelines to avoid the sparrows and the umbrellas. She figures out that Klaus is in the wrong timeline but Klaus just brushes her off

The rest of the umbrella academy eventually find him & Klaus has to choose between his siblings and Dave

Vanya & Klaus role-swap AU

Pretty self explanatory set up - Vanya was a full member of the umbrella academy, Klaus grew up thinking the ghost were just hallucinations

Klaus and Dave (ex-soldier) are already in an established relationship

When five turns up in 2019 he has dog tags instead of an eyeball but they’re too damaged to read the full name/ID number

After he gets kidnapped he gets shot by hazel & cha-cha. After he dies he speaks to Reggie before coming back to life

Patch and Dave save him. No one dies or time travels. Klaus finally has a conversation with Ben and tell Dave about his powers

More shinanigans and basically the apocalypse happens when Dave is shot which triggers klaus’ powers

Could also lead into a sequel following season 2 where Dave ends up in Dallas. Klaus has no memory and his only clue is Dave’s dog tags. Dave also has no clue what’s going bc he was unconscious/bleeding out and just wakes up in a hospital in the 1960s

Actor AU

Hargreeves siblings are ex-child stars who all took fame differently and are spread across the spectrum of ‘continued successful career and avoided major scandal’ (Allison) and ‘developed an addiction as a teenager and completely fell off the rails’ (Klaus)

As kids they all stared in a show about the umbrella academy and all reunite to film a gritty reboot (aka things are super meta)

Dave is cast as in a minor role of Klaus’ love interest and they basically end up falling in love on set as well

S1 fix-it

Klaus brings Dave back to the future after he gets shot

The briefcase screws up and they end up in 2018. Basically an excuse for Klaus and Dave to go on a road trip without dealing with the apocalypse

Probably some comical shinanigans involving Klaus and Dave trying to avoid the past versions of Klaus/the rest of the siblings (could get angsty when they find past Klaus and see what an absolutely mess he used to be)

Ben knows and is just kinda done with Klaus shit

literally kill me all of them bias wreck me so hard bUT hyunjin, jisung, seungmin, and chan have been wrecking me so hard in particular lately

Episode #3: "Make me look like fucking Doofenshmirtz when I’m trying to be like Maleficent" - Mo

So first off WOOOOO! The vote happened exactly as it was supposed to. I'm hoping that means I'm actually on the pulse of this tribe. I've gradually been getting closer to Jared, and I think he trusts me probably more than I trust him.

Second off, this challenge my god. I hate it, like it's a good challenge but for me... oof. Doing this, it's like I have facial dyslexia or something. Like all of the mouths and eyes start blending together and it just starts to look nuts.

I'm hoping to keep trudging forward, if we somehow pull a win out of this, even better if Cyrena goes to tribal again given it was basically unanimous. Alternatively Orfeo to balance things out. I'm tired though and it's been a long day, so it is now time to sleep.

I’m conflicted because I so badly want to be a bad bitch and create an over the top plan but there’s such a high chance that it will flop and make me look like fucking Doofenshmirtz when I’m trying to be like Maleficent. So I’m going to try to create my own kinda of genius that only applies to me. It sounds stupid but it’ll work. I’m being bold by saying it’ll work cus if I get eliminated I’ll look like a Doofenshmirtz. We’ll see. I’m already making charts to help me see who’s good and who’s not so good at comps. Comparing teammates to eachother and comparing the entire cast to eachother. Wish me luck. (Also I love everyone in this cast.)

So like I have so many mixed feelings about this cast. In terms of talking a lot of them are BORING or LEAVE ME ON READ, and like maybe for some it’s cause I’m not in their tribe but like, some people on my tribe still make me want to hit my head against a rock. So like that’s what I’m feeling.

Also think we’re gonna loose this immunity which I’ve hardly done anything for. So go me.

Well we won the challenge (BARELY), a bit annoyed that we submitted before I got another chance to take a crack at the photos. I feel like I could've maybe found 1 or 2 more before we submitted. Granted we'd need to have found either 3 more or beaten Orfeo to the punch if we had wanted the reward.

I think so long as Bodhi doesn't go on Cyrena I'm pretty indifferent about them losing. They're the people I talk to the least relatively. Ideally I'd probably want an Alyssa, or Matt boot, but I have no influence so we'll see what happens.

I'm just trying to be social and relatively unimposing right now. It's Day 8, now's not the time to be doing glaringly bold things.

I think it should be Bodhi or Tobi to go. Am I gonna say anything? Not right now, no. Will I say something later? No clue it depends. hi! yesterday was a monumental day. I tried to mend my social game with those I hadn’t talked much to, which resulted in me having a lengthy conversation with jack, and making me feel a bit more secure in my tribe/in the event of a swap. the people I don’t talk to keep getting voted out which I’m very much a fan of but that’s probably because they were inactive so that trend might not continue :(. also I lied in my last conf I’m now in an alliance with Chris Jared kori and Bryce? So we won the challenge. Again. It’s really nice to be able to just sit back and relax in the game and watch people struggle but I’m really nervous about it because we’re all so kumbaya on the Oreo tribe that I don’t fully know who I can trust just yet. Another piece of tea is the fact that Alyssa has an idol which is great for me because it shows Alyssa trusts me and I can trust her for the time being. However I’m worried about Alyssa because we keep promising each other merge which tells me she won’t want to go to the end with me just yet so I gotta keep her close and we’ll see how much damage we can do but i think I’m thriving bc I actually know where an idol is compared to last time when I had no clue.

so previously on The Adventures of a F*g, i had a small breakdown about the game. i dont know if true, but bryce informed me of an alliance between kori/jared/bryce/loris/chris, and the last two named are super close allies of mine (the closest on my tribe). they like.. didnt tell me shit about it and idk i guess i just feel excluded and it sucks that im in legit 0 (real) alliances. ive been doing good socially i thought and i dont know but i feel like i really sucked.

meanwhile, i sat down with a bag of salt and vinegar lays chips and talked to myself. why was i doing bad? why was i in 0 alliances? why no one like me?

then it hit me... like boom.

i realized that a typical flaw i had this game was caring too much. i pride myself on my ability to read situations (barring paranoia) and i know myself very well. like, i realized that since i was too concerned with doing good and proving myself, i kind of lost the fun of it all and probably come off as fake or forcible to other people. that isn't authentic.

BUT MY EPIPHANY increased even further. how? i dont know!! my brains so fucking big. i just had to be goofy. yes, i want to do good. i really do. but i played once before in this series and got RU pots and 5th. i know i am capable of being a good player and im content with that, and now that im moving into that mindset where this game wont no longer dictate whether im good or bad, im going to start having fun.

After we won the face morph challenge, it has been pretty slow. I still have a solid group with me Stephen Z and Jared. Kori and Bryce are close, Jared and I are close, Rhys and Jared are close, and Stephen and I are close. Those are the allegiances I know of right now, but things could change. Lucky for the alliance of 5, they all get to stick together. If there is a swap though, I won't hesitate to flip on bryce/rhys/kori if the opportunity presents itself. I am also kind of worried I am not keeping up socially. I have had a busy week, so my availability is limited, but I try to talk to as many people as I can when I am available. If my predicitons are correct, we should expect a swap soon. I'd love to meet up with Michael, Bodhi, Alyssa, Chloe, Drew, and Mo just to name a few. I feel like I have been able to connect well with everyone except Matt H.

So, as per my last confessional we are at tribal. And I'm conflicted. As said before I have an alliance with jack and Alyssa and they are my main 2 at the moment like love them both. We helped Alyssa find the idol and we now have a vote steal which I found. However I am feeling kinda conflicted over this vote. Jack and Alyssa want to get rid of Tobi but I personally want bodhi gone. He doesn't talk to me like at all and like he's not the best at challenges. I wanna keep Tobi as well for like a laugh because I genuinely love him. We all agreed to keep mo thank god but still, a lil conflicted. AGH. I have found a vote steal tho woo. I'm not going to be happy but I'll swallow my pride and just go with the alliance, because I'm not out here trying to make waves and be unloyal at the moment. That's for later LOL

I think there is a relatively high chance that i'm going home here, considering its 1 and a half hours till tribal and people "still haven't heard anything" so i'm assuming that i'm getting the chop here which sucks... I tried pretty hard considering i've been pretty busy and like they're not giving me much to work with here and it feels like im trying to break through a wall. I'm trying to get the target on bodhi but no one is fucking online to even try to talk to about it so i'm at a lost for what to do here... I want to stay but i just don't know how to do that when no one is talking to me... i could just be extremely paranoid and i sound delusional right now but idk something feels off here... its so annoying when I enjoy talking to other tribes more than my own NNNN like i really wish things were different but they're not so i'm just gonna try my best and see what happens

Woo we win again. Im trying to step up socially with my tribe, although who knows how long it's gonna matter bc we're prob swapping tonight. Apparently people were saying mo's name, let's pray it doesn't happen bc he's a good fucking kid.

Well it's been a slow couple of days for me. In game I can't really speak much to anything that may have happened. I feel like Tuatha has had a bit of a kumbaya casual flow going on. Which isn't necessarily bad but it makes it hard for me to know how I'm really doing.

Tobi was messaging me worried it might be him, which admittedly wouldn't be the worst thing given how we ended our last game. I was kindof an ass which I kindof leaned into after essentially throwing that game, but I still wish I'd found a way to end things better with him. While there are others I'd rather see go, his boot is one I can probably accept.

If it isn't him then oof who knows then. So long as it isn't Bodhi from that tribe. Overall I'm feeling ok, but I don't want to get complacent, it's just so early that I really don't know what to make of things. One world still isn't really helping since I'm still struggling to try and make conversation with EVERYONE. I really should consider just narrowing it down to some instead of all.

I’m sure hoping this works out for me if there is a tribe swap like a suspect, I think I’ve built some strong enough connections but without going to tribal it’s just not possible for me to be 100%

I've never been on a tribe with a winning streak I feel like I'm in the upside down hahaha. I'm having a great time and getting to know everybody and not having the stress of tribal is great. Sucks for the other tribes OOP

Nothing much is happening! I am still set up perfectly on my tribe and Bodhi has informed me that either Mo or Matt might be going. That was at the beginning of the round so it could really be anyone. I just hope it isn't Bodhi Alyssa or Mo.

Ok this past round was ok. I just kind of let us lose immunity and then we voted out Tobi. I didn’t want to vote out Tobi but that fucker voted for me so I don’t really care at all fuck him.

So not very much has changed on Tuatha as far as I can tell. My tribe winning the immunity challenge has helped me delay any confrontation between my 2 alliances which is great, as it should theoretically allow me to maintain relationships with all 6 members of the tribe. Still, it's going to keep being important to win immunity or pray for a swap in order to keep these groups from clashing.

Jared and Rhys are still a ? for me. I don't know why/how Rhys was able to convince Kori to invite Jared to the alliance of 5 instead of Mitch, and it worries me that those 2 may have a stronger bond than I immediately suspected. Hopefully I'll have an opportunity to deal with that when the time comes.
