Soundwave ... always knows when something's wrong.

Even with the extra control the Matrix he carries has given him, which helps him not accidentally snoop--he knows. He isn't really sure what has Rung so fussed and he's not sure if he himself is fussed at all, but when he sees Rung hunched over something he's putting together in the kitchen and feels his unsettled field, he knows he wasn't wrong.

Something is bothering his grandmother. He walks directly over to the smaller mech and doesn't wait to be acknowledged before he gets down on one knee and tugs him into a tight, warm hug. He's there. Whatever's wrong, they'll fix it. Everyone in this family, here, loves one another, regardless of how well they may have got on in other places--and half the time that was someone else, anyway.

It's going to be okay. He wraps his field around them both; it's full of soothing harmonies and protective fluff and exactly as much warmth as is needed.

He's got his own demons, too. The sense that he didn't do enough to stop everything from going all wrong. The sense that he should have been able to save all of the people he loves.

Is it something like that? He's not sure. He knows that Rodimus and Optimus are plagued with it too...so he's not surprised if that's what's bothering Rung, though it's probably a little more personal.

"Did you have an argument with someone," he murmurs, "...or is this...existential?"

there's a really funny 3d printing controversy going on btw.

if you don't know, there's a very popular 3d printing model out there called "benchy". this is used for benchmarking your 3d printer because it's a difficult print and will help test it out.

this is so widely used that people make their own little versions of it, remixing the 3d model to make benchy look cooler and stuff. however, a new company owns the benchy license. they are sending copyright takedowns to all those who wrongfully uploaded the benchy model.

of course, this is pissing off the 3d printing community greatly. everyone loved benchy and have used it for years. so someone on reddit decided to make a new model that is designed as a 3d printing stress test. one that works a lot like benchy, and people are freely able to edit it as they please. you know what they called it?
