Sorcha's face was bright red, the blush of embarrassment spreading from her face to her neck and down her chest. The moment her two-tone gaze turned toward Serkan's voice her blush went several shades more red. "I-I was probably just talking too loudly. I'm so sorry." Her words were slow and softening with every second he stood in front of her in nothing but a towel. "Did you need me to... umm...." Clearing her throat, the blonde gestured to his wounds, "Re-dress the injuries before you dress." The kettle whistled and she spun away, relieved that she had a reason to look away and end herself from making a fool of herself around Serkan for the umpteenth time.
while sorcha had gone up to make food, serkan remained downstairs to speak with his brother and their men. about fifteen minutes later, they all dispersed, and serkan stumbled his way up the stairs to the first floor, then to the second where he proceeded to take a shower. no sooner had he finished showering and wrapped a towel around his waist did he hear what sounded like a scream. "son of a bitch," he muttered, racing out of the bathroom, back down the stairs to the first floor and down the last set of stairs that led to the room he had been in. there he found sorcha staring, plates in her hands and mehmet's. "what's happened, little rabbit? why did you scream?" the water from his shower still dripping down his half dried torso.

Imagine Ratterrock suddenly had a virus- like y'know the walking dead-
Who would survive, who would get zombified?
EDIT 02/15/25: Fan OCs and AUs are encouraged, but we will not answer asks about them or how characters would react to them. Thank you for respecting this boundary! Honestly and tragically, I think most of the Rock would be wiped out - there’s only so many places you can hide and fortify, and the government is very hands off when it comes to helping the rodents residing on it.
That being said, I think the Bloody Hearts (Pads and Sorcha and Lorcan) are strong enough and clever enough to properly fortify the Den of Iniquity to be a safe fortress. If Rilla was on the Rock, she would be safe with Lorcan and his family. The Night Court colony would also be safe, they can fly away from the Rock if need be.

Decks/etc I Own
Why yes, I have a lot! I don’t necessarily endorse or support the authors of the decks, as I tend to buy without researching authors, and/or only learn of problematic stuff within the deck after purchase.
I believe heavily in animism. I often ask of the deck spirits. The deck after their name is their “come home date”.
Due to the link limit on posts, please see the blog page version for the linked-up version. (May not work for mobile app, or opens up to the browser.) This is really only needed if you want to see further information on each deck, easy links to their tag, and if they have a review and/or first thoughts. This version serves more as a list for people to pick from than a directory around. Generally, you can find their tag under "my tools: [listed name]" though, but the links page will also include extra links.
✦ : Currently Available for Requests ✧ : Not Currently Available for Requests ^ This specifically is about whether or not you can request that deck specifically. I may still read with this deck of my own choice or them volunteering themself, but I’d rather not have them be requestable until I’m good with them.

Davida emailed about Patreon: "Hi Marc, I have been a listener of your show for several years and really love it! You do such a fantastic job of bringing us varied and beautiful music, I can’t thank you enough. I listen to it while I’m knitting old and new Scottish patterns. I don’t think that I have any Irish or Celtic ancestry, but I’ve felt the music since I was a little girl. I have been supporting you on Patreon, but I just received a notice that they are changing the monthly donation to only one dollar. I remember hearing you say that donations could be made a different way and it would be more beneficial for you, so can you let me know how that would be? It doesn’t make sense to me to give you less money! Thank you so much and again please know that you do a fantastic job."
Sean Malloy of Band o'Brothers emailed photos from the studio: "Merry Christmas Marc! And thanks so much for including "Christmas Time Again" in Episode #690, "Light a Candle in the Window." We're honored to have our music played alongside all the wonderful musicians on your podcast.
When I saw the title of this week's podcast I thought perhaps you had included our song "On Christmas Day," which begins with the line "We light a candle in the window for weary travelers to find their way." But I was pleasantly surprised to hear that you also have a tune featuring the Irish Christmas image of a candle in the window. I find it to be such a lovely symbol of hope, hospitality, and mindfulness of people who are not with us but hold important places in our hearts.
We've been spending some time at Bonehead Studio in our hometown of Cheshire, CT lately (pictures attached) and we hope to have our new album ready by February - so new music in time for St. Patrick's Day. You'll be among the first to know when we release it.
Thanks again and Merry Christmas,"
David Tustin had a song request: "Marc, You asked an interesting question. Don was a God loving person, loved his family and encouraged cat and dog rescues. He also enjoyed Scotch Whisky! The best song could be one of your cat drinking songs or maybe you know of something better for your podcast.
Taing mhòr!

Sorcha was very much her parents child. Both physically with the blue eye from her father and her green eye from her mother, hair that never seemed to decide if it was red or blonde; and psychologically with abandonment issues and over-analytical tendencies. She looked up at Gideon with new nerves, swallowing down his words of reassurance and finding herself nodding as if she understood and believed him. In reality she was only trying to convince herself. "Okay." Sorcha's words were whispered, "Just, please... just promise me that when I screw this up we'll still be friends?"
Her tongue dipped between her lips as she scanned his features, knowing that if the shoe was on the other foot she could have never crossed this line. Stepping even closer to Gideon, Sorcha placed her small hands on his waist. "I don't think either of us is half as good at communicating as we thought we were because I've wanted to kiss you from the moment we met." Her cheeks quickly blossomed a deep, splotchy cerise. Her eyes may had said 'kiss me' but her mouth was, as always, nervously running, "So what's the plan for this date?"
Closed started for: @writermuses
The frustration that was building up in Gideon was all his fault and no one else's. He had shot himself in the foot, but there had to be a silver lining, didn't there? At least, he thought so because once again, he found himself alone with Sorcha. He had the perfect opportunity to tell her about his feelings, but again, she really wasn't buying it or thought he was joking. "I'm really not joking, Sorcha," Gideon cleared his throat as he looked at her, his eyes hoping to convey that he was serious about his previous statement of wanting to take her out on a proper date. "When I said I have been wanting to take you out on a date for a while, I meant that," he reassured her as he stepped closer to her, not breaking eye contact. "I know I have teased you before but I like to think that you'd know me well enough that I wouldn't tease you about something like this," he told her as he stepped even closer and moved some hair behind her ear.
"Maybe I should have been more obvious and assertive in my pursuit, but I didn't want to ruin our friendship or make you think I wanted something out of it. I simply couldn't keep my feelings for you quiet anymore," he confessed softly.

(( ~ @sorchvs ~ ))
He had to be something. People he kind of recognized were sprouting wings or fangs or turning into wolves when he knew that wasn’t what they were yesterday. That light did something and Aiden easily figured out that what species people were yesterday, they weren’t today. Vampires were wolves, fae were now vampires, wolves were now mermaids? The whole world had turned to shit and Aiden had to be something. He could not just be a mere human. He refused to believe it.
A rock tumbled as he reached the cliff’s edge. The water below seemed safe enough, no rocks to crash into and no large waves to push him into a current he couldn’t swim, but granted, Aiden couldn’t swim. He was a fucking fire fae. The last place he ever wanted to be was near a large body of water, yet here he was, overlooking the ocean because the only thing left on the list was a merman. Merfolk weren’t immortal, but at least they had power and it was something more. Aiden was also in no way rational to remember his own years of training. He would have remembered, but he took the jump and just hoped for the best. Aiden never shied away from leap of faiths before.

This is the crossdressing anon, can i be called rain anon instead?
If a stranger (my oc) kindly asked Sorcha for a dance...would she accept or not? because idk if Padraic had informed her of this new stranger in town
Lorkan (im sorry if i misspelled that) is beast in the ring but does he hold his punches if his sparing partner was a woman (other than Brig of course)? Cause this stranger (my oc) has years of experience (being a veteran/mercenary and all that) and i feel like Lorkan is the type that can't be taken down easily by someone that has years of experience or had a sparing session with him before like Brig
If Soairse (I'm sorry if that is wrong) knew that this stranger is involved with criminals and already met her family...would she avoid her like a plague?
EDIT 02/15/25: Fan OCs are encouraged, but we will not answer asks about them or how characters would react to them. Thank you for respecting this boundary!
You can go by whatever you want, dear!
If she liked the look of them and their vibe, Sorcha would accept, but she would keep her ears up and eyes on - she’s been in this game too long to be taken unawares, especially if Padraic gave her notice about a stranger…
If they’re in the ring with him, Lorcan doesn’t hold his punches back for anyone. He’s a brilliant boxer and he would never make the foolish decision to underestimate an opponent. If he’s teaching someone boxing, that would be different, but for an actual match or fight? He gives it his all.
And yes, Saoirse would staunchly avoid anyone she knew to be a criminal and or had ties to her siblings illegal activities. Her work and activism is too important for her to risk it with any kind of connection to crimes or criminals.

BEST TRACKS OF 2017-ARTISTS LIST #77
EIGHTY NINETY
Eighty Ninety is a pop duo made up pf brothers Abner and Harper James who gave us earlier this year the infectious tune Your Favourite Song (watch the treatment right here). Here is a top ten of tunes that made their year (A more comprehensive list of their favos can be found right here!).
01. Funeral - Phoebe Bridgers
Phoebe Bridgers’ songs are both meticulously well-crafted and raw, visceral, and emotionally powerful. She uses her mastery of melody, form and language in the service of intense emotional insight and honesty. “Funeral” was the first song we heard, but get into the whole record.
02. Out of My Head - Loote
We love the maximal-minimalism of “Out of My Head”. The hooks and sonics are relentless — but they’re made up of simple, great ideas stacked on top of each other and executed so well. It’s inspiring writing and producing.
03. Turn Out The Lights - Julien Baker
I missed my subway stop when I got to the soul-rattling end of this one: “When I turn out the lights, there’s noone left between myself and me”.
04. I Know A Place - MUNA
“I Know A Place” bottles the transcendent power of compassion and empathy; what a melody.
05. Buttons - Sara Hartman
A perfect three minutes of self-effacing, catchy-as-hell indie pop. It also goes deep, which is why it’s here.
06. Want You Back - HAIM
“Want You Back” is blissful pop music soaked in throwback 70’s vibes. The production feels like the organic version of top 40: a freewheeling blend of percussion, chiming strings and guitars, layers of vocals, all recorded in a live room with real instruments. Major bonus points for an amazing music video.
07. Aimless Kid - Queue
Prediction: 2018 is the year of Queue. This band is amazing and we want it in print that we called it. Aimless Kid is a heartbreaking and lovely ballad. Listen to their other songs, too.
08. Waking Life & 4AM (tie) - Sorcha Richardson
Sorcha is a storyteller who consistently finds profound and universally resonant meaning in the details of her experience. Rarer still is the extent to which her sonic and melodic choices inform the subtleties of meaning in her lyrics.
09. Saw You In A Dream-Japanese House
This song feels like a dream. Melodies and sounds drift and lilt in and out in ways that make sense as you hear them; in retrospect it’s hard to piece them together in a way that makes tons of formal sense. But you want to hear it again.
10. Don’t Delete The Kisses - Wolf Alice
Shimmering guitar pop with nostalgia for the 80’s and 90’s in the best possible ways. Manages to put words to the question: “What if it’s not meant for me? Love.”

Jordan Reeder emailed a photo: "Hi Marc! It’s been so great hearing all of the independent artists you feature on the podcast. Thank you for what you all do and maybe one of these days I’ll submit some of my music for your enjoyment as well.
I’m blessed to have a job I love - as a luthier at a music store in Kenosha WI. While I was working on this auto harp (just a cleaning and restringing as well as putting new support springs under some of the bars) I thought I should take a couple of pictures and send them your way. I thought you might appreciate it."
Donald W White emailed a photo from Oregon: "I'm painting - - as usual.
I've appreciated Celtic music for a long time (loved Fiona Ritchie's former show on NPR - "Thistle & Shamrock"), but I just became a fan while sailing from Quebec to Boston. On a cruise ship of "old people," some amazing Canadian musicians (including Nova Scotia vilionist Hayley Ryerson) performed some raucous Celtic tunes from Cape Breton Island. I'm now hooked! Count me in.
Don White, A new fan from Oregon "
Wolbert van Wageningen emailed: "Hi Marc,
My name is Wolbert van Wageningen. I live in the North of the Netherlands. Several years ago I started listening to your Irish and Celtic Music Podcast. I liked it a lot because of all the independent music. But sometimes it was a bit too independent according to my taste. I forgot to listen regularly and it got out of sight and mind.
In the meantime I started working (volunteering) at a small regional broadcasting company in my hometown of Winsum. I got the possibility to make my own programmes and one of them I titled " Highlands and Islands" a reference to Scotland of course, but also a reference to the region where I live (het Hogeland - Highland) and the Waddensea with small islands.
Due to illness I was not able to make the show in our radiostudio, but my homestudio was good enough to make broadcastings. I started broadcasting at Mixcloud and posted my recordings there.
Looking for music I discovered your Irish and Celtic Music Podcast at Mixcloud. Nice surprise! Started listening again. Thought it would be nice to reach out to you. Want to make my compliments for your shows and your perseverance in making them. Way back you were in the 100 - 200 range; now almost 700!!
I promoted your show to my small group of listeners (Celtic Folk is not that big in the Netherlands) and will do so in the future.
Keep up the good work! Kind regards,"
Check out this episode!

Ok, entramos no ônibus. Aliás, as músicas me deixam alterada, e essa história provavelmente é a prova disso. Ufa!
Gostei.
Isso tudo me fez passar mal.
Ele iria descer vários pontos antes do nosso destino.
