And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”
Mark 7:20-23
For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.
Romans 12:3
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9 (ESV). [9] “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Matthew 6:9-13 (NASB1995). [9] “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. [10] Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. [11] Give us this day our daily bread. [12] And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. [13] And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’]”
“The God Who Forgives” by In Touch Ministries:
“Regularly seeking forgiveness keeps the pathway of fellowship open.”
“Jesus gave His followers a pattern for prayer that includes seeking forgiveness every day. Regular repentance is not a means of renewing our salvation. Instead, it’s a maintenance plan for our fellowship with God.
When we trust Jesus as our Savior, our sins are forgiven forever—the stains from our past, present, and future wrongs are wiped away. The tendency to sin, however, remains part of the human experience, though its influence decreases the more we’re conformed to Christ’s image.
With the exception of Jesus, no one is perfect. So, while on earth, we will all deal with sin and its consequences. The Lord’s admonition to seek daily forgiveness is a reminder to confess our sins and turn away from them because we are forgiven.
God’s grace is not a license to sin. Instead, it’s a reason to continuously pursue righteousness. Bad attitudes, thoughtless actions, and unkind speech do not fit who we are as new creatures in Christ.
Salvation makes a way for us to enter God’s presence, whereas confession and repentance (1 John 1:9) keep the pathway maintained. The “sinner’s prayer” needs to be said only once, but a saint will tap into God’s forgiveness every day throughout life.”

Bible verses about God’s character from the letters of John:
1 John 1:5-7, “This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin”.
1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”.
1 John 2:25, “And this is the promise that he made to us - eternal life”.
1 John 3:20, “for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything”.
1 John 3:23, “And this is hai commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he commanded us”.
1 John 4:4, “Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world”.
1 John 4:7, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God, and knows God”.
1 John 4:10, “In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins”.
1 John 4:15-16, “If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them”.
1 John 4:18-19, “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. We love because he first loved us”.
1 John 5:12, “Whoever has the Son has life: whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life”.
1 John 5:14, “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us”.
2 John 1:6, “Ans this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, do that you should walk in it”.
3 John 1:7, “Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God”.
These letters, as well ad the entire Biblical story, blatantly display the character of God. These texts, breathed out by God himself, display his compassionate and loving nature to a creation in full rebellion. It’s through his word that we come to know him more intimately, and that he begins to take up residence within us, within his temple.
It’s through focusing on his word that we are able to feel his love for us in full measure.
God bless, Jesus loves you ✝️❤️

How to restore our fellowship with the Lord Part 1
1 John 1:9 The ongoing remedy for our sin
In some ways when we get saved or born again the Lord could say ‘I have cleansed every sin from your life so go and sin no more.’
However, we know that we often slip and fall into sin (due to the old sin nature), and we would be stuck in sin if the Lord had not provided an ongoing way to get us back into fellowship with him.
That is what we are going to study today ‘how do we keep in continual fellowship with the Lord.
We can only bear fruit when we are in fellowship with the Lord and when are in sin we can bear no good fruit.
This is like playing badminton say 20 years ago or more, you could only score when serving.
The suggestion is that we can bear fruit only when we are in fellowship with God.
Relationship versus Fellowship
¨ Relationship is permanent.
¨ Fellowship is conditional.
Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
Salvation has two parts to it: kindred relationship and fellowship.
If like me, you agree that once saved always saved then our kindred relationship is permanent (eternal). If you disagree then you must consider just how permanent our relationship with Father God is, and what could break it. However, hopefully we can agree that our relationship is stronger than our fellowship.
We are born again into the family of God and are secure in it.
Fellowship (koinonia) is our ongoing interaction with God and can be broken quite easily.
Amos 3:3 can be understood as ‘how can we walk in agreement with a Holy God’? When we are out of fellowship with him through sin.
Fellowship in this context is our old friend koinonia which means an intimate sharing of our life
with God and with our fellow believers.
Fellowship with Him and One Another
1 John 1:5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
As always when we want to correctly interpret scripture, we need to put in in context.
v5-7 God has no darkness or sin in his being whatever and has no truck with sin.
If we live in sin our fellowship (koinonia) with God is broken and we are kidding ourselves on (self-deception).
If we walk in the Spirit, we are agreed with the Lord, this brings us into fellowship with each other and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.
v8 If Christians say that they do not sin then John says that they are lying indicating an aversion to the truth.
v9-10 We will return to these verses further into the sermon.
In Part 2 we will consider 'the chastening of the Lord'.

Harmony
“He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in him.” Psalm 40:3 I am sure many of us have witnessed two distinct ways of singing a song and playing an instrument; and one appears to be more of a gift or an acquired gift than the other. There is the soloist and musician who studies the notes and practices methodically until the…

Dearly beloved. May the peace of Christ be with everyone.
Once again I felt discouraged. For some time I had been feeling forgotten and unloved by God. This led me into sin, because as well as feeling extremely alone, I felt from the bottom of my heart that He didn't care about me. This feeling of not being loved or even seen by God fed the lie that it didn't matter if I chose to stop sinning or seek forgiveness, because He didn't care anymore. And feeling this way hurt me and made me feel alone and empty, and I sought refuge in sin. I lived like that for months and tried to fix myself. In 1 John it says that if we confess our sins, God is just and faithful to forgive us. Today I know I'm repentant, but I'm also afraid, because it may not be genuine repentance.
What I do know is that God loves me. But I was so desperate to feel something immediately that I didn't respect God's silence, I wanted signs as clear as daylight, I wanted solutions that shouted out his presence. But all I had was silence and the question that sickened my soul: "Does he love me and want me?", as well as the answer: "After everything I've done, He doesn't listen to me anymore.". What I also know is that God cares. For many reasons I'm hurt, but mainly for everything I've done to myself, for the things I've wanted and for having made sin my companion while I felt bad about myself.
Hold on to the identity that Christ has given you, as servants and His children, as people who are loved and seen. Pray strongly so that the lies thrown at your soul will be fought with faith in the One who saves us. Don't be deceived by sin. Don't seek out immediate, worldly sensations in an attempt to replace God's love. Believe in the forgiveness you have received. If you're lost, ask for help so that you can find The way again. Above all, love God and confess how you really feel about everything. God hears you even if it doesn't seem like it.

Colossians 4:2-4 NLT. [2] “Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. [3] Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains. [4] Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should.”
1 John 1:9 (NLT). [9] “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”
“The Price of Prayerlessness” by In Touch Ministries:
“If you want to live with peace and purpose, make time in prayer a priority.”
“Have you ever noticed what happens if we allow our prayer life to fall by the wayside? When we fail to make prayer a priority in our life—essentially forfeiting our time alone with the Father—we will begin to feel an emptiness in our heart, accompanied by a sense of uneasiness. In contrast, when our prayer life is active, the weight of burdens will be lifted from our shoulders by the mighty hand of God.
With this in mind, why would anyone choose to cease praying? The sad truth is that many of us have become so busy that we’ve failed to set aside time to spend with the Lord. Yet if we continue this style of living, we will become vulnerable and run the risk of giving in to temptation.
To avoid these difficulties, we should place a high priority upon our fellowship and communication with the Father. After all, we must be in contact with God in order to hear from Him. How else can we understand and follow His will?
If you have allowed distance to come between you and the Lord, confess this to Him today. 1 John 1:9 promises, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us.” When you renew your prayer life, you’ll be able to experience God’s best.”

Line Upon Line Lesson 094: The Sin Offering
Leviticus 4:27-28 - If anyone of the common people sins unintentionally by doing something against any of the commandments of the Lord in anything which ought not to be done, and is guilty, or if his sin which he has committed comes to his knowledge, then he shall bring as his offering a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he has committed.
Imagine you are driving down the freeway.  You don’t pay attention to how fast you are driving.  A police officer pulls up behind you, flashes his light, and pulls you over.  The officer informs you that he caught you driving fifteen miles over the speed limit.  You try to protest that you did not realize you were driving that fast.  The officer says that while that may be true, you still are guilty of breaking the law.
What was the sin offering?  It was an offering that addressed sins committed in ignorance. This includes sins of errors or mistakes, or rash acts the sinner was not aware of at the time, but were made known to that person afterward.
Let’s read together Romans 3:23 and 2 Corinthians 5:21.
The sin offering reminds us we are all sinners.  Even if we think we are doing well on our own and have done nothing ostensibly bad, we are not sinless perfect. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross points out that eternal life can only be obtained through His precious blood. Nothing else can make us whole or wash our sins away, no matter what we try to do on our own.
Let’s read together Psalm 32:5; Proverbs 23:13; Matthew 18:15-17; and 1 John 1:9.
Frend, will you confess and repent of all your sins to Jesus, especially ones that have been brought to your attention?
