Bogged down in work again, but painting little plastic ponies continues to be an effective, low-pressure stress-buster! This one is Breyer's G1 Stablemate Seabiscuit; an unknown artist had done some customization like turning the head and raising the left foreleg, so when I got it in a body lot I did some refinement and finished the resculpting (including turning her into a mare). Then I repainted her to a lovely chestnut sabino with a hair mane and tail to make her a nice, old-school RRH (remake, repaint, rehair)!
She's available at https://www.etsy.com/listing/1536261489/petra-custom-breyer-stablemate

1/32 Imaginary Skeleton Mosasaurus
I feel like the Mosasaur is definitely rising in popularity to get two model kits, from the same company, in such close proximity. Sadly, this one did not arrive on my birthday like the other two, but it was an enjoyable few hours to build. Again, really enjoy this line for just the ability to have fun loose-painting the bases, which is something you don't get to do a lot when you specialize in robots most of the time.
The Details: All the detail work on this one went into the base. It started out the same color as the skeleton itself, but I used blue, two different whites, yellow, red, and green to give it a more oceanic feel compared to the other two I built.
Overall, a fun guilty pleasure build more than anything, but as I mentioned in the Plannosaur review, if you're a fan of this animal, this is a more refined, adult version of what you can find there.

who doesn't love a ball toy pit?
ever wondered how many crabs might fit in a confined space? what number of horses might go into a padded pool? what quantity of paws might populate a pit typically filled with colorful plastic balls? well, you’re in luck.

for no reason at all, we have decided to make you do some math: we have filled a ball pit measuring exactly 32” x 8" with some true tumblr icons. more pics below (including, of course, a banana for scale). you have 24 hours to guess how many of each toy appears. good luck!

but that's not all—we have more polls for your guessing pleasure:
poll 1: how many crabs have infested the pool? poll 2: what number of mini horse friends? poll 3: how many tiny toe beans are contained within?
happy voting!

Honestly, if the boiling point of water at sea level isn't even a clean 100 °C, then what the hell is even the point of arguing?
#my post#it always bothers me when people get into arguments over temp systems and people arguing for celsius say the boiling point of water is 100#like ok: 1) at sea level this claim is off by a few hundredths of a degree c#2) as you go up in elevation and thus decrease air pressure the boiling point decreases too#water boils at 99.3 °C at an elevation of ~215 m and 93.4 °C at 1905 m#at that point you're nowhere close to 100#now of course because the fahrenheit scale is directly tied to the celsius scale by the relation f=9c/5+32 that means the fahrenheit number#are messy too. but this means both scales are messy when it comes to boiling water and thus it's a moot point to bring up#uh anyway to wrap up these tags use whatever system you're most comfortable with. maybe do at least specify though since they both use#degrees. converting between the two systems takes all of 5 seconds and a quick web search. it's not that hard nor inconvenient#ok im done ranting in the tags of my own post 👍#i hope stating these opinions isn't swinging too hard at the hornet's nest. debates around fahrenheit and celsius can get pretty heated

In my new scale, °X, 0 is Earths' record lowest surface temperature, 50 is the global average, and 100 is the record highest, with a linear scale between each point and adjustment every year as needed.
Temperature Scales [Explained]
Transcript Under the Cut
Temperature Scales
[A table with five columns, labelled: Unit, water freezing point, water boiling point, notes, cursedness. There are eleven rows below the labels.]
[Row 1:] Celsius, 0, 100, Used in most of the world, 2/10 [Row 2:] Kelvin, 273.15, 373.15, 0K is absolute zero, 2/10 [Row 3:] Fahrenheit, 32, 212, Outdoors in most places is between 0–100, 3/10 [Row 4:] Réaumur, 0, 80, Like Celsius, but with 80 instead of 100, 3/8 [Row 5:] Rømer, 7.5, 60, Fahrenheit precursor with similarly random design, 4/10, [Row 6:] Rankine, 491.7, 671.7, Fahrenheit, but with 0°F set to absolute zero, 6/10 [Row 7:] Newton, 0, 33-ish, Poorly defined, with reference points like "the hottest water you can hold your hand in", 7-ish/10 [Row 8:] Wedgewood, –8, –6.7, Intended for comparing the melting points of metals, all of which it was very wrong about, 9/10 [Row 9:] Galen, –4?, 4??, Runs from –4 (cold) to 4 (hot). 0 is "normal"(?), 4/–4 [Row 10:] ''Real'' Celsius, 100, 0, In Anders Celsius's original specification, bigger numbers are ''colder''; others later flipped it, 10/0 [Row 11:] Dalton, 0, 100, A nonlinear scale; 0°C and 100°C are 0 and 100 Dalton, but 50°C is 53.9 Dalton, 53.9/50
