This morning when my mom and stepdad went to leave for work a little kitten was hiding under our car

He is currently toddling all over my belly and purring while he tries to give himself a bath

We named him Vladimir

We have three other cats

I think i have to write a fantasy YA novel because I hate the way that most of them begin. It's the same formula that makes them feel like I'm reading the same story. It's always like:

Kelly was having a bad day. It wasn't different from yesterday, but today was bad. It wasn't unusual for the 5 foot 2 woman with bouncy red hair twisted into a pony tail to accidentally wear the same dirty flannel shirt with green pants - they were her favorite after all, but the laundromat was closed and that wasn't her fault! And to make matters worse, she tripped on a witch and now she's cursed! She would have apologized, but the witch got hit by a truck and now she's stuck with a book of spells that she wants to return but there's a demon in her coffee shop. Maybe one little spell won't hurt?

I honestly can't help but wonder if these are generated. I can't get through them. I just want to chill, but this whole "i accidentally cursed my neighbor" stories just seem so damn lazy and I'm so disinterested.

Am I alone in this? Am i wrong? Seriously asking because i'm frustrated

So. This is Peanut Butter, Peanut for short.

She showed up on a friend’s doorstep very sick and my friend didn’t have space to foster her so I said I would. She has an upper respiratory infection, double eye infection, and maybe worms and fleas. She is also only 1lb despite her wilder siblings appearing to be 8weeks old and substantially bigger. So she is in quarantine until she gets better. The boys do not know they are about to be uncles, though they smell her on us.

But despite being wild-born & unsocialized and clearly the runt and feeling crummy, she is also the sweetest snuggliest little kitten & cries every time we put her down. (Sound up for her impressive purr!)

Anyway, as long as Binghe and Yuan do not try to kill her on sight, I’m probably adopting her. The Teen is already deeply in love with Peanut. Before she arrived he said “I don’t want a third cat”. After she got here, he spent all his time until bed in the bathroom with her & complained about having to leave her to sleep! So. Third cat here we come. The Cat Lottery seems to feel I need an even tinier fuzzy creature to take care of now that Bella is gone. 😅

I must share her tiny cuteness everywhere, so expect regular Kitten Updates!

Whelp, back surgery kicked my ass. It felt great for a few weeks but then I went and tried to run and fucked everything up again lol. 8weeks out and STILL facing the majority of my existence flat on my back (not the good way.)

Pain’s a funny thing. If you don’t have some terrible physical manifestation that acts as a communicative simile (hurts like an open, compound fracture of the femur) no one knows what you’re experiencing, and how could they? Why would they? Why should they? This singular experience is me.

Pain feels somewhat like a consequence a responsibility that you earned. It’s like carrying a baby around. It’s a quiet baby, but it’s fucking heavy. You might like to put it down, maybe on a shelf at Target near the diapers. But that’s just not done. It’s not even allowable to think! This is yours and you’re going to carry it until … well for a while. Years. Get used to it. Or not. Actually, you’re not allowed to get used to it but others get to at least suggest that it’s possible and perhaps necessary.

Sometimes tho, sometimes pain feels neglected. Neglected and angry and in possession of a nasty case of NPD.

Then it metastasizes. It weasels tendrils of dissociation deep into your mind. Discussions become floating bubbles of muffled voices making sounds like words uttered into a monstrous vuvuzela. Sentences stand stark and disconnected from a context that is shrouded in a fog of mental disruption. Twenty feet of pavement between your parking space and a door become as vast as the Sahara, a you’re a 95yo grandmother.

I just want to go. GO. Run bike swim drive sit stand walk whateverthefuckever. I don’t want to think about how bad it’s hurting while I drink my coffee, or prop my body up in a big agonizing arch while at a stoplight hoping it will be tolerable enough to go on green.

I’m tired of the fucking pain.

how do i tell my two exisiting friends (or just the people i like talking to) that i'm aplatonic? im new to the apl community and i dont know how to explain to people about it when i know so little myself. i already havent talked to them in around 8weeks with zero warning (my bad i know thats shitty. but its not like we talk super often anyways) i just dont know how to properly describe and im scared theyll take it as me not wanting talk to them anymore and theyll move on and ill never get any oppurtunity to truly define our relationship with each other. both are queer but arent all that educated on aspec stuff. i really wanna say something but i dont know how

ok nvm this vet is NOT competent in mice at all

(tried to say pregnancy is unlikely before 8 weeks.................. they can and often do get pregnant by 4-6 weeks)

they also tried to say i can keep the boys together unneutered unless they bite eachother, but male mice dont ust squabble and nip like female mice do. they will kill eachother.

but im going to go ahead and schedule the neutering for around 6-8weeks old, or when theyre 30grams. despite them telling me theyre willing to do it at THREE WEEKS OLD!!!
