This really was the Empire Strikes Back of season endings. Like, we are all fucked.

Rand has secured the army that he absolutely needs -- and the Aiel found their chosen one -- but the Aiel have had their worldview shattered and Rand as a person is deteriorating with no sign of rescue in sight.

Egwene followed her own moral compass out of the Tower and into the Aiel Waste, and I hardly need to recap how that's going for her. Aviendha is duty-bound to a leader whose worst failings she's seen in far too personal a way (and she might've fallen for romantically at the same time). Back in Two Rivers, Perrin protected his loved ones -- but now his life is in the hands of a legal system he knows to be unjust.

Moiraine and Lan, again, I hardly need to summarize. Technically, they accomplished everything they set out to in this finale, that being "protect Rand from Lanfear or die trying." Now Moiraine wishes she was dead. And Lan's duty is perhaps heavier on him than it has ever been.

Wondergirls (Y Mat!) failed so badly in Tanchico that they actually wound up collecting two of the three artifacts and delivering them right into the villains' hands. Despite having some personal breakthroughs along the way, the best they managed to do in their mission was escape with their lives (and this DILF they found). Oh and Mat is cursed again by some new shit we've never even heard of before, because of course he is.

So now they're sailing away... towards the discovery that things are even worse. Up till now there was one person on the Light side with geopolitical power. Reinforcements, a physical safe haven, a hub of hard and soft power in the world at large. But all that power turned out to be a house of cards, and she fucking DIED.

The good guys who came out of this finale with the lightest burden were Siuan and Melindhra, because they fucking DIED. Siuan fought all season and lost everything but her integrity, her love -- her soul, both figuratively and literally. Melindhra quite literally lost her soul itself for one dying act of heroism.

From out here, we can see how hollow the triumphs of the antagonists are. Liandrin, completely lost as a human being, foreswearing even her love for her child. Elaida, dictator of an empty palace, feeling so righteous as she unwittingly elevates the Black Ajah and murders the real hero of the Tower. But however empty it is, they still do control the horizontal and the vertical. Everything is in question. The next safe harbor is unknown. We stand on the deck of the Rebel medical frigate Seafolk ship and look to the sky -- which doesn't have any answers either.

Detective Conan - Itakura Suguru's Software

Summary of Events up to Chapter 1141

In a shocking turn of events, the Itakura Suguru case has made a comeback! With chapter 1144 coming out soon, I wanted to do a recap of the hints dropped in recent chapters regarding Itakura Suguru and the Black Organization. This thrilling arc is one of my favorites in the entire series, so I was really happy to see it being brought up again.

Conan and the Mouri's were tasked with finding Itakura Suguru by his colleagues, one of whom ended up killing him. During this investigation, Conan discovered that Itakura made contact with Tequila and was able to take his diary after solving the case.

Thanks to this diary, he found out that Itakura was forced to create a mysterious software program for the Organization, but he decided to give up on this project and flee "for the sake of humanity" (although he was killed in a separate incident before he could flee).

Conan delivered the unfinished program to Gin and Vodka in the hopes of tracking them, but failed. Not much is known about the program at this point.

Over 750 chapters later, this case suddenly flashed back into Conan's mind when Eri explained that a cat's cry and a baby's cry sound similar.

A few chapters after the Itakura Suguru case, there was mention of a cat's cry in Itakura's diary. Vermouth, who had forcibly pulled Itakura into working for the Org, was heard with a cat crying in the background of a phone call. Vermouth is not a character shown to get nervous easily, so for her to get nervous and suddenly cut out the call just from the cry of a cat is a interesting thing to specify.

Yukiko confronts Vermouth regarding this during the Bell Tree Express, noting the she famously did not get along with Itakura. Most likely, the Org requested someone skilled in software development, and Vermouth offered Itakura up. Although, the reasoning for their initial disagreement has not been explained yet. Given Yukiko's close relationship with Vermouth, I think she would be able to confirm with Conan if she ever had any dislike or allergy with cats in particular.

However, with this new piece of information from Eri, we know that this was likely not a cat at all, but rather the cry of a baby! Now, what would a baby be doing here in a situation like this?

If you recall the case of Azusa and Conan being kidnapped, you may remember the old woman and baby that briefly appeared. The baby in her stroller not only didn't have any distinct features shown, but was completely blacked out, similar to how a character that isn't ready to be revealed yet is drawn.

Eri's cat was also mentioned to the old woman, who said she has a cat allergy. The woman was shown to be hanging around Poirot in both scenes she appeared briefly in. Perhaps this is Vermouth in disguise, keeping an eye on Amuro and the Mouri Detective Agency.

With the main plot of physical age regression, it's easy to assume that this may very well be the Boss himself, shrunken down to the size of a baby. This transformation would also make it incredibly hard for someone to find the Boss if they are looking for him in his original form.

While movies are usually not canon, Movie 26 had a surprising moment around the 1 hour 15 min mark, revealing previously unknown info that Rum, the Boss' second in command, had in fact not seen him in a while and wants to search for him. Is the Boss currently hiding with Vermouth or a caretaker, unable to show his face because he is in the body of a baby? Is the software shown in the movie similar to what Itakura was developing?

Not only that, but Conan also recalled another early case from chapter 191, in which Haibara mentioned punishment upon going against the "stream of time." This phrasing was used by Vermouth, as mentioned in Itakura's diary.

It is also used by Masumi Sera when referring to Haibara's temporary APTX-4869 antidote.

Did the Boss find himself close to death, impatiently taking an unfinished version of APTX-4869 and becoming a baby?

Is the punishment a dreadfully lonely life, seeing everyone pass by as you continue to remain in the same young form? It is confirmed that those who survive APTX-4869 not only de-age, but remain in that state indefinitely. 20 years after de-aging, Vermouth has not changed. Conan and Ai have not grown even slightly taller, either. This could explain Vermouth's hatred for the Miyano's, who created a drug that put her into this state of physical purgatory.

If the boss did indeed shrink into a baby, he won't be able to just grow out of it, he will have to find a cure or be stuck in this form forever.

I hope that at least some of this is touched upon in the upcoming chapter. It is very exciting to see some movement on this plot line that was introduced over 20 years ago!

The year that was 2024:

But first...

Standing at the threshold of 2025 I look back far past 2024 to that day in June 2022 and the grief, disbelief... the shock and trauma those of us experienced while watching the Festa Dinner video. That dinner had been pre-recorded a few weeks prior and they released it on June 14. The members had to be scared of what our reactions would be when we watched it. 

At that time we still had no idea how military enlistment would unfold, that news was still months away for us after the October concert in Busan. All we knew was BTS was going to pause but we did not really know what that meant. And it wasn't just the fans who went into a tailspin, Hybe stock took a dip, the secretary of Ministry of Culture Sports and Tourism begged BTS to come back. The news of a BTS hiatus began to hit international news media across the globe. The emotional devastation was real.

That day and following days, it seemed like 2025 was forever in the future. What would we be like in 2025? What would the members of BTS be like? What would the music industry landscape be like? What would the world be like? It was two and a half years away from that day. Back in June 2022, 2025 seemed like a lifetime away in the future, a bleak, dark unknown.

We attempted to pull ourselves together and look for the positives... "we'll save so much money!” and "we'll have time to learn Korean!" HAH! The real winner: “I can catch up on content!” LMAO!

Here we are now, two and a half years later. My god the shit that's transpired since. A lot of it was not on anyone's radar.

2024, the year of fighting...

Throughout the year and as the year wore on, we fought boycotters, haters, mantis and solos. We fought the media, each other, other fandoms... it was a constant battle to clear the mess. Our main weapon? Our love for BTS and the members and our commitment and determination.

We should be better at recognizing bad actors, at recognizing organized hate. I hope you all are blocking it, muting it because it is an energy drain to dwell on it and it exists. Some people are compelled to lash back at it. I'm not one of those. I prefer blocking/muting. Do what is right for you.

So here's a recap of 2024...the first quarter of the year started out calmly.

January: We were basking in the BTS documentary series Beyond the Star and waiting for a sign of our men completing their basic training. We were hoping to find out where they would be stationed for the rest of their military service.

February was relatively quiet. Except for this.

Tae's song "Fri(end)s", released mid-March.

Hope on the Street Vol. 1 released end of March with the six episode docu-series running through April.

We were hitting our stride, understanding that they'd prepared so much for us while they were away. Even k-media reported on the unusual amount of content produced by BTS to span their enlistment time. It was reassuring and we were spoiled. Looking back, it was the quiet before the storm...

This "quiet before the storm" has never quieted before the storm like this quiet before the storm quieted the first quarter of 2024.

In April we witnessed a real eclipse in the sky and then while we were having the best time unraveling the mystery of the Monochrome merch popups, the shit hit the fan with the Min Hee Jin revelations. And that circus was just beginning. Maybe I'm just naive or too much of a positive person but I never fathomed that there were people out there this demented, this twisted, this delusional, controlling and narcissistic that they thought they could single-handedly bring down a huge company like Hybe via public opinion. And as time went on and continues to go on we learned she was not alone. That woman is sick and evil.

I recalled back in 2021 seeing people be paranoid about the young company, Hybe, hiring ex-SM employees. I wanted to believe these former SM employees they hired saw the opportunity to escape a toxic workplace and therefore defected to Hybe. Now we know the paranoia was justified.

The end of April and into May I watched Begins ≠ Youth, the drama series based on the BTS Universe. It took years for that series to finally see the light of day. It was very intriguing. There was a lot of controversy about Xclusive, the platform it was delivered on. My theory is it was an experiment to see how fans would react to a blockchain/NFT product. I have a huge post in my drafts about it but we moved on from it quickly, so I did too. The series was great though.

The rest of May was a month where we were trying to remain calm, trying to remain positive. We as a fandom felt very beat up. Anticipation was through the roof for Jin's military discharge and Festa.

But first, Namjoon released Right Place, Wrong Person, the studio album and subsequently, the accompanying documentary, Right People, Wrong Place. Both the album and documentary are critically acclaimed, winning awards and landing on "best of" lists across the globe.

Finally, it's June. Jin's discharge was so emotional for everyone. We were able to see everyone except Yoongi greet him outside the gates. But it was amazing seeing all 7 together in still photos afterward. It was a collective sigh of relief that we truly are beginning the downhill side of their military enlistment. Jin has been working his ass off since that day, his album Happy and its title song Running Wild doing well.

I know we've got our opinions about the South Korean government but that day, for me, seeing Jimin and Jungkook in their uniforms, as soldiers, just hit a spot in me that I can't describe. I felt proud of them. And I hope after their discharge they can tuck away that sense of accomplishment in a safe space and flip the bird at the bureaucrats running their country.

Jimin dropped his second album, Muse, in July, the mystery solved of what all those other producers were doing with Jimin the second half of 2022. The title song Who continues to chart. His songs are wonderful. I'm so proud of how far he's come during this solo era. I miss him.

And then Are You Sure?! happened. Even though we KNEW it was coming, I can't believe we got that show. I can't believe they did all of that. Naked Jimin except for a small pair of black shorts... naked Jungkook. Just so much naked after years of Victorian era artist protection CG over every square inch of bare skin. Watching that show, so much of what I knew in my mind of how they are together was mostly confirmed.

I said this months ago: After Jungkook’s 2023 Weverse lives, the Are You Sure?! series, their companion military enlistment and his documentary I Am Still the theatrical release and the Disney+ docu-series, it is clear that Jimin is Jungkook’s touchstone, a significant presence through at least this part of his life. We can’t know what the future holds, I would never dare to assume what their own personal desires or goals are for themselves, but I do know that Jimin will play a big part in it and I hope we still get to see some of that play out when it happens.

I'm still processing. I digressed. It happens when it comes to me, Jimin and Jungkook. Moving on.

August... my god. My dear Yoongi. We are still waiting to see him again, to see with our own eyes that he is actually ok and to figuratively take his hand in ours, to reassure each other and keep moving forward to leave this year far behind. I know he knows we are here. I can't stand the wall though, of not being able to see him. Does that make sense? I mostly keep my thoughts to myself about him because it really hurts my heart to think about him having to suffer through all that. August and into September were hard, hard… so hard.

Fast forward to October when Hobi stepped out of those doors on the day of his discharge, it seemed like time had flown by as if we just watched him leaving for training camp, even though it was sooooooo long ago.

And now he's lived in LA for almost a month, been in Japan and seen with more people... A possible fashion collab? Songs/album in February? We don't know anything for sure yet but info has leaked. A tour in spring? I'll be there if I can snag tickets.

We've seen glimpses of Tae and his buff self. His collab with Bing Crosby was ground breaking and hopefully will become a holiday classic just like the original. Also, happy birthday, Tae!

December began shockingly with South Korea's President Yoon attempting to impose martial law. My heart dropped. Our guys were on red alert, scrambling. It lasted a few hours before being overturned by their national assembly.

Mid-December, while on a vacation leave, Jungkook surprised us with a 2 and a half hour live just like he used to do. He looked so good. He sounded good. From what I saw, he's still the same Jungkook.

Do you realize, if martial law had remained in effect, we would not have seen Jungkook? There would be no celebrating. We would all be in limbo. Who knows what that crazy shithead (now impeached-president Yoon) would have done if martial law was still in place. The slow reveal of information about the planning of it is chilling and should be a reminder to us all to not take things for granted. Their National Assembly are still trying to get everything under control, the turmoil is not over yet.

Somehow, the Universe is working overtime to get BTS through their service and I hope it continues to do so because we still have just under six months left. At this point, I believe anything could happen.

Counting down the hours to 2025

We are about to enter the holy Borayear of our Lord Min Yoongi 2025. Bestie and I talked a lot about what the possibilities might be for 2025.

Of course, like everyone else, we know nothing for sure, only what we've gleaned from the member's themselves, official announcements, news releases and hints here and there. What we DO know for sure is there will not be a void. We have two Tannies back with us. Music will be released, content produced:

January 4 is Jin's OST.

Not directly BTS related but we as a fandom would like some closure and satisfaction surrounding the MHJ drama because trials will begin in January.

Hobi has something coming. Certainly Hobi will have another EP, perhaps HOTS Vol. 2? which would be supported with a tour. There's been a leak of info. We are on high alert.

For the others, perhaps a few one-off singles before June. Between us, we don't think Tae has another album's worth of music. Jungkook either.

A Yoongi collab perhaps?

Namjoon, probably nothing. Poor baby is so ready to be discharged.

The Jimin x Benny Blanco music, whatever that may be.

Maybe that rumored JK x Tae subunit song. Or maybe it's not a song?

Jin mentioned another album but the timing is tight to squeeze it in before June.

Then the HYYH 10th Anniversary in April, whatever that may entail. A retrospective perhaps?

Attempting to predict how their discharge days will play out is difficult. Jin and Hobi splitting up to meet Namjoon and Tae at their respective bases? And then all four of them head to Jimin and Jungkook the next day to greet them as they exit their base? We wait with anticipation.

After the Boraholy month of June 2025, we expect group activities to ramp up. What those will be is anyone's guess. Weverse lives for sure. Also, dance practice videos. We expect new music. We also expect performances. Perhaps a one-off "we're baaAAAaack!" type concert? Or not. But performances of some sort. They've been looking forward so much to performing I can't see them waiting any longer than they have to for at least one performance somewhere, somehow.

And toward the end of 2025, a comeback album and the world tour announcement. May the odds be ever in your favor. Just kidding. I'm getting those tickets.

Our speculation continues... could new music consist of more subunits?

I could be wrong but I do not think they will revisit a Bon Voyage or In The Soop format. They might pick up Run BTS but it won’t be like it was before. I can’t even see them doing what Jin’s doing in many Run Jin episodes. Not as a group.

I think (I hope) that Yoongi picks up Suchwita again. I hope he does not change one iota of the format. He can address his incident again if he chooses, reiterate he apologized, paid his fine and now we’re moving on to live our big life. That’s it. I hope if this happens his first guest is BTS as a group. 

Maybe that last thing is really wishful thinking on my part but even considering Yoongi might ditch Suchwita or change it just doesn’t align with who he is. He is a “fuck you” type of guy. 

Anyway. 2025 has a promise of hope and happiness and relief and closure. But now, I think we all know to be wary, that anything can happen. 

Bottomline to all of this, to wrap up the year and look forward to the new year is that BTS is COMING BACK. SEVEN MEMBERS STRONG.

The reality is, it will be three years from that day back in 2022, when we finally see them as a group again. The members are slowly becoming more active. We have less than six months to wait and we know how fast that can go. 163 days left for Jimin and Jungkook, 162 for Namjoon and Tae, 173 left for Yoongi.

We must enjoy every moment we can until June 2025 and hope for the best! FIGHTING.

Elijah King & Egon; The Assistants

The Assistants, while an unassuming class, are a valuable part of not only their respective teams, but the administration! You could count Pauling herself as the Admin Assistant, but regardless, my girls are here to lend a helping hand (as their emblems suggest)! In battle, they take on a sort of subclass role with anyone who needs an extra set of hands! For example, when helping the Demos, they take on something akin to the Demoknight subclass, a Trapper to help the Snipers, a Batter to assist the Scouts, etc etc. This even goes for any 10th classes (I’m looking at you, TF3)! When not in battle, however, they usually do a lot of paperwork to help Miss Pauling, or go on any special contracts that’s asked of them (usually transporting cargo).

Now for a bit about the girls themselves. Elijah King (she/he) was raised in a lab by none other than….(drumroll please)....the RED Medic! (We do love a nepo baby.) Soon after the doctor was forced to leave the facility after becoming too close to Eli, she escaped, got a fun little bout of amnesia, and started living her life in New Mexico! She bounced from job to job, getting experience in all kindsa places; mechanic, bartender, and bouncer were just a few jobs she had. But, one day, she was approached by a lovely woman in purple and offered a job. She took it, and the rest is history! Now this bubbly, flirty, fun-loving gal finally has a home…and maybe one day, she’ll realize she found her father as well.

Egon (he/him), in short, is Eli’s clone. He has a fun little secret, though: he remembers Everything. He doesn’t have amnesia! It kinda kills him to see Eli on the other team with their father and not even knowing it! The only thing more frustrating than that is the fact that their father is Intentionally keeping it from her! …It doesn’t help that he completely rejected Egon when he tried to reconnect. That definitely won’t give Egon issues about Technically being Eli and having to cobble a new identity for himself in a very short period of time. It certainly doesn’t make him sad and bitter. Lucky for him, the entirety of the BLU team is sad and bitter in some way, so he fits right in! Now he’s just gotta keep everyone from finding out he’s a clone…Not that eventually getting temporarily kidnapped and re-experimented on helps his odds. Now he’s got even More unnatural eyes, along with other problems. Eh, he’s probably fine.

So, I bet you’re wondering: Why should you vote for these gals? Their backstory seems weird and tragic and probably doesn’t fit at all in line with your interpretation of Medic! Well, my friend, come close and I’ll tell you.

The Reverend

The Reverend is a religious fanatic hailing from Southern Italy, where he was raised in a commune by a group of reclusive nuns. Where, according to him, he was taught the basic necessary skills for life, which include but are not limited to: Small sword combat, butchering, and Ecclesiastical Latin. It is unknown how exactly he was ordained as his denomination remains unclear. He often fails to mention that throughout his travels, he's made some adjustments to the standard Bible, adding his own footnotes, amendments, and even on occasion, pages which he believes are the true gospel, taken from a multitude of other religions, leading to a mishmash of ideals and beliefs full of unexplained rituals. Within the team The Reverend plays a heavily supportive role, serving initially as on-base staff in the form of a “Therapist” to the Mercs, which unfortunately or not, was not clearly conveyed leading to a sacrificial killing in the Intelligence Room. Now, he is a full time member of the Mercenary team!

CLASS INFORMATION

Primary Stock: Thurible/Censer A golden Thurible, which, when held, creates an aura around The Reverend. Teammates in range, when damaged, contribute to a shield meter. When full, the user can activate a direction shield [stylized as a building mist which hardens into a thin shield the size of three heavys stood shoulder to shoulder] that protects against projectile damage and protects The Reverend from "Hell-fire" [Pyro's flames] while active. In order to use this effectively, The Reverend has to directly put himself in front of the front line, only properly using this shield when putting himself in a direct line of fire beforehand. When not activating his shield, The Reverend uses his thurible similar to that of a flail, creating a mid ranged weapon which is used to protect himself and others in a select radius around him.

Secondary Stock: The “Mercy Kill” Dagger Modeled after a sword used in early battles to put soldiers who were suffering grave injuries out of their misery in a quick and efficient way, The Reverend uses it similar to The Medic's Ubersaw. Instead of contributing to the thurible’s meter, it instead contributes to its own meter, which, when full, can be used to activate The Reverend's "Dying Wish." [Inspired by Priests being seen as undertakers, guiding souls to heaven or otherwise while on their deathbed.] When used, The Reverend can target a specific teammate under half-health and for a short time grants the target guaranteed Crits, but does not heal the target, nor protect them from any damage type other than the one the target themselves is dealing. [I.e. Heavy receives a buff against bullets, Pyro-fire, and Demo- explosives]

Melee Stock Options: Bible/Rosary The Reverend is against the use of guns and prefers to get up close and personal with his damage dealing. [Used as an excuse to personally "send people off" to the next life while praying for their soul.] He either uses his Bible to bludgeon his victims or, on occasion, wraps his Rosary around his knuckles to boost his hand-to-hand damage.

Support Slot Stock: Holy Water Mister Modeled after a garden mister used for plants, the bottle is instead filled with Holy Water blessed by The Reverend himself. Mechanically used to rid teammates of ailments, such as Jarate, Pyro's Fire, and works to undisguise enemy Spies. [This also has an ammo limit similar to Pyro's flamethrower]

EXTRA INFO

The Reverend, or as he is rarely called, Father Angelo, is known to be an enigmatic figure even among bizarre groups like the Mercenaries. He's rarely seen loitering in public spaces around the base, choosing to reside in his homemade "service" room, complete with a makeshift confession booth. When prompted, he'll say he prefers the quiet as it allows him a moment of reflection. He seems well put together and always walks through the halls with an upright rigidness, always seeming to peer down at people when speaking with them. That is of course unless he is genuinely interested, in which case he'll lean forward to inquire further, often expressing himself with his hands which he kept firmly laced together just moments before. The Reverend does not see most of his fellow men as solitary beings, in fact, most if not all of the Mercenaries are seen as a challenge to him. After all, what's more difficult than getting a group of cold-blooded murderers to repent? He's convinced himself he's already chosen for heaven, and that God put him on this earth for a reason, and the tribulations he's faced working with MANN CO. might just be that exact mission.

Of course the Father isn't a stranger to violence, on the field he maintains his saintly demeanor when grouped with his colleagues, which seems to be most often given his support role. Until he's given a chance to take matters into his own hands. The Reverend is incredibly vengeful, with an excellent memory for faces, he takes the time to chase enemies who he understands are close to death, and he finishes them off himself, usually bludgeoning them to death. He doesn't enjoy the act of killing, what he takes the most pleasure in is when his team finds him knelt over the dying victim, his hands gripping theirs as he prays for their safe travel to heaven, asking them to repent in their last moments.

FUN FACTS!

-The Reverend often wakes up at dawn and has a very specific morning ritual that includes tending to his small flock of chickens. -Despite his attempts, he is often shadowed by a murder of crows who he believes bring him bad luck, or more accurately, bring him a bad name. -He speaks Italian most fluently, with Ecclesiastical Latin and English following behind. He learned both during his time studying the Bible and its origins when he was younger. -His class emblem is known as "the all-seeing eye of god." -The specific translation The Reverend uses as the basis for his text is The Douay-Rheims Bible. -The Reverend’s full given name is Angelo Caruso, but he is rarely addressed by it, and instead was only called by his first name for most of his life. -When signing his name, he often uses the “o” of his name as a flourish, which leads to his signature looking closer to “Angel.” -The Reverend can play the tambourine verily well, he enjoys tambourine dancing and encourages people to join in for the purpose of worship.

Who Made The Daycare Attendant? (Part 2: Addendum)

Although it is advised that you read this first post first, I will be providing bullet points to catch you up to speed!!

SPOILERS FOR SECRET OF THE MIMIC!!!

So, to understand this post, here's a brief summary of what I speculated/noted in Part 1:

The canon ending is the one where Arnold unknowingly gave F10-N4 the Data Driver, containing access to the Mimic's blueprints and access to Moon.exe.

The Mimic probably returned to the factory after killing Edwin, likely to get its hands on the Data Diver.

F10-N4 protected the Data Diver, keeping it out of the Mimic's hands. She also realized Edwin would never return.

During this time, with her access to Moon.exe, as well as her ability to design blueprints and programs, F10-N4 designed the current form of the Daycare Attendant we know and love today. For unknown reasons.

F10-N4 could not do anything with said blueprints as far as actually creating the hardware goes.

Someone else would've had to come build the Daycare Attendant based on those designs. Possibly, this person helped F10-N4 properly set up M.X.E.S.

In Security Breach, we see that the Mimic has the same teeth that the Daycare Attendant's endoskeleton has. It does not have these teeth in Secret Of The Mimic. In fact, its entire base frame is different.

The prior point could be explained by the theory F10-N4 possibly also designed another animatronic or another body. The Mimic could've installed itself into that one.

The person who helped build the Daycare Attendant's body probably worked for Fazbear Entertainment, hence how it first became a theatre animatronic long before Security Breach. It is possible the Daycare Attendant had an alternate purpose given by F10-N4.

Okay, now that I've caught you up to speed with that recap, I wanted to point out something that I missed. Something that I completely forgot about until I finished that first post:

Fazbear Entertainment doesn't know how to fix or reboot the Daycare Attendant.

This is a pretty important point that just flew over my head until the tail end of that post. It could imply that whoever built Sun/Moon/Eclipse wasn't a Fazbear employee. Alternatively, it could also just mean that the employee who did build them no longer worked for Fazbear Entertainment when Moon started acting up during his time as a theatre performer.

I think the second theory is more likely. We don't know how long the Pizzaplex has been around in Security Breach, but we can assume from the books that it was around for quite a few years. This is one of those times where the books provide information that could be important or canon to the lore of the games. We are aware that a ton of changes happened within the Pizzaplex from the time it opened to the time the incident that ruined it occurred. We also know that Staff Bots started to replace human employees over time. Granted, in the books, there are still human employees around for quite a while after the daycare was constructed.

Even then, it is noted specifically that the Daycare Attendant was an old theatre bot. It is extremely likely that the employee responsible for constructing them was long retired when Moon started acting out during the performances. This would mean that he wasn't around to fix the poor animatronic by rebooting it with the Faz Wrench (aka future Data Diver). The only one who knew how to was the Daycare Attendant in question...and poor Sun couldn't do that without the Faz Wrench. There was no hope for him without it around, or at least without it being actively used. Sun's familiarity with it shows that he recognized it immediately.

Who knows? Maybe the person responsible for building him was killed, be it by the Mimic or something else. For now, all I can speculate is that F10-N4 had a hand in designing the functionality of this poor animatronic. Maybe he was supposed to serve more of a purpose than being a theatre bot or a daycare attendant. But it's clear Moon got corrupted at some point, and nobody was around to reboot him.

I hope we will see their creation in a different game. I also hope that Ruin isn't truly the end for them. Their connection to the Mimic seems too important to end now. Maybe they will have mercy on their fans and let them be important later...

Who's in the portrait from Frozen - The Broadway musical?

A quick recap: in the original Broadway production of Frozen, during "For the first time in forever", Anna is seen next to the portrait of some unknown gentleman. Who is he?

I initially thought (incorrectly) this was a portrait of a young King Karl XIV Johan who was the king of Sweden and Norway (where he was known as Karl III Johan) during the years 1818-1844, i.e. during the time Frozen takes place!

It could have been a cool easter egg to have him appear in the musical but unfortunately (for me) it was not the case!

My friend @bigfrozenfan suggested (correctly) that the uniform of the man in the Frozen portrait was borrowed from a painting of the Russian prince and military commander Pyotr Mikhailovich Volkonsky (1776-1852):

Unfortunately, this only gave us half the Broadway painting. We still needed the guy's face. Browsing image results on google, this painting of Russian politician and military commander Pavel Alexandrovich Stroganov (1774-1817) popped up, and it was a perfect match!

Now, why Pavel decided to borrow his countryman Pyotr's uniform in the Frozenverse we can only speculate. What we do know is that they were both long dead when Frozen takes place.

Why were these portraits chosen by the set designers? Why not just use one portrait and call it a day? Why mane an edit? Probably just for fun. Maybe to confuse see if someone would figure out what it was based off of! 😄

It should also be mentioned that something strange is going on with the left epaulette. Compared to the original (right below), some elements of it has been copied and pasted in the Broadway version (left below). I have no idea why. maybe to save space in the picture. Other than that, the uniform appears to be completely unaltered.

There's a special way that Katniss is really just a luckier Haymitch and it first has to do with how they were Reaped. They both are not pulled from the bowl but both of them end up as a tribute and it's because they are protecting the person they love the most.

Haymitch protects Lenore Dove from the Peacekeepers while she attempts to help Woodbine Chance's mother, causing Drusilla to pick him as a replacement.

Katniss willingly volunteers after her sister, who Katniss says is the only person she knows for certain she loves, is Reaped.

The luck starts, even there. The murder of Woodbine Chance and the subsequent heroic act of Haymitch is not broadcast. Drusilla says that the feed is on a five-minute delay so when broadcast picks up, there is no Woodbine Chance, no heroic act to save his love from the Peacekeepers. To every other district and the Capitol, Haymitch Abernathy was the one originally chosen.

But with Katniss, Prim was the one originally chosen. It's unknown if the broadcast was delayed but it doesn't seem to matter as the Gamemakers allow the footage of Primrose being Reaped and Katniss volunteering. This probably immediately endeared her to the Capitol audience and helped with the image that the team eventually cultivated for her, as a caring and empathic person who would do anything to protect the people she loves. Not only this, but the Gamemakers knew exactly how to twist her story to make it as appealing as possible to their audience and keep them engaged in the Games.

Where this really comes in is after the Games. Haymitch has family. In fact, he has the same family unit as Katniss, though their relationships with their mothers is quite different. When watching the recap of the reaping, interviews and the Game, Haymitch notes that the footage filmed with his mother and brother are absent. Completely absent. It was probably incredibly easy to wipe all mention of Willamae (Haymitch's mother) & Sid (Haymitch's younger brother) because how often are they mentioned in the interviews?

When he arrives home-- after long weeks of psychological torment at the hands of President Snow-- because of his rebellious actions, Haymitch's family is burned alive by the Capitol. And because their existence has been entirely wiped, no one in the Capitol is none the wiser. The official story is that it was a freak accident. Possibly the other district victors would believe this too. But District 12 knows and they know it was not just a punishment but a warning. Stay down. Stay quiet and your family will live. Do you see what we could do to you?

But with Katniss, the Capitol cannot punish her by killing Primrose. From the moment Katniss is introduced to the other districts and to the Capitol audience, she is introduced as the girl who volunteered to save her sister. Primrose is discussed in the interviews. Katniss talks about her to Rue. Everyone knows who Primrose is. And if Primrose dies in a mysterious way right after Katniss wins the games, people will take notice. They might even start calling for an official investigation. The Capitol would obviously create a sham investigation but how costly would that be for them, when they could just use Primrose in the Victory Tour footage?

Sure, the Capitol would probably get rid of her later on but in the year after the Game, Katniss' family is completely off limits. Because she got the best circumstances. She got lucky.

But unfortunately, the Capitol still was pulling the strings. They increased the amount of Peacekeepers and switched out the more lax officers. They finally started turning on the electric fence and even used it to try to catch Katniss breaking the law.

But they could not touch Prim.

This post got a little long so I am going to split these into parts because I loved both the Hunger Games & Sunrise on the Reaping and picking things apart is my favourite thing to do.

New Enhanced Edition - Comic-Con 2007 with Jensen, Eric, Sera, and Ben

My latest video is up. This is the SDCC 2007 panel with Jensen. (Jared had been scheduled to be there, but he missed his flight because he was filming until 6am that morning.)

Additional Footage Found and other Ramblings

Some of you may have seen my pleas searching for anyone who'd downloaded (and still had) all of scaperanya's videos from this panel. I never did manage to turn up the missing files, but I received something better late last week! AgtSpooky dug up a nearly-complete video of the full panel that used to be on the now-dead WinchesterBros.com web site. The video quality was a little low, but the audio was glorious! I edited in all the audio to match up with the higher-quality video I used. Until then, I'd only had good audio for about half of the panel, and the rest of it was really, really bad. In addition to being easier on the ears, it improved the accuracy of my subtitles.

I also used several minutes from that video in the sidebar to give visibility to other speakers in a small window, as well as using a few other videos for the same purpose. My full credits are in the video description. The main part of the video uses a higher-quality video as much as possible (see comparison screen shots below), and that one was focused mostly on Jensen. As it should be. 😂 So I did something similar to what I did for SDCC 2008 a while back -- I tried to give visibility to other people in smaller video windows. You can see an example of it in the thumbnail above, top-left corner. They'll be more useful on larger screens -- probably not so much for viewers on a phone.

Sera gets the least coverage in the sidebar videos, but that wasn't an intentional slight. It was just difficult to fit her in because she was on the opposite side of Jensen from Eric and Ben. She wasn't talking or reacting as much whereas Eric was more actively engaged with most of the questions, so I felt there wasn't usually any justification to cram her onto the screen and I was afraid it was already too cluttered.

What's Next?

I've started the next chronological convention, which is Jared's panel from Fangoria in January 2008. With all the footage synced up, I have about 42 minutes' worth of coverage. There are two gaps of unknown length toward the end, but I ended up with more coverage than I expected when I first started. I'll post more details about that once I announce that video's publication.

Please bear with me if I'm slower than usual to get my next video out. This SDCC video presented a few challenges. I put most of my spare time into working on it and the end result was that I fell behind on both video editing and on general life.

Disclaimer: the entire video won't look this good. The below source makes up 88% of the video and I had to use some lower-quality videos to fill in the gaps in their coverage. I also chose one of the better-looking frames for my comparison. Most of it does look very good for a video from 2007 though, and I think with the enhancements it will look better than any version you may have watched before.

In December 2023, I started a project to enhance old convention videos. The project is mostly focused on Jared and Jensen, but there will occasionally be videos with other actors. I'm upscaling the videos and making other visual improvements, adding extra content to clarify various references, and adding human-generated, color-coded subtitles so you can better understand the sometimes-chaotic audio. The subtitles can be auto-translated to other languages via YouTube.

My goal is to publish the best, most complete, and most watchable versions of these older convention panels yet seen, but this is only possible thanks to the fans who captured the footage in the first place and were generous enough to share it with other fans. My video descriptions on YouTube will always credit my sources.

Chapter 2 - Truth or Dare

Kirishima's room is huge. His whole dorm is huge, for that matter. It's laid out almost like an apartment, with a central living room and two bedrooms, one for him and one for his blonde, hotheaded roommate who you've just learned was named Bakugo, each with an attached bathroom.

Only 1A students were left at the gathering now, with you tagging along as the "guest of honor," as Kirishima had put it when you timidly opened the door to his bedroom to join the game of truth or dare he and Mina were currently setting up.

The timidity came from the fact that Kirishima's door was not the first one you had opened. You had been greeted by Katsuki Bakugo's displeased yell when you accidentally intruded on him, changing out of a shirt that an extremely drunk Denki had spilled some insane concoction of liquor and various juices on.

You had frozen in shock at the door, eyes locked on the bulging muscles of the future pro-hero's back.

Damn. If he wasn't such an asshole about everything, I would have a huge crush on him

You shook the drunken, ill-advised and altogether thirsty thought from your clouded brain and quickly exited the room before he could attempt to berate you further.

Now you were seated on the edge of Kirishima's bed, surrounded by people you barely knew, and about to play a game that you knew might put you in a few awkward situations.

"Hey h-hot stuuuffff.... you gonna plaaay with us?" you turn your head to see the same, very drunk Denki, who ruined Bakugo's t-shirt approaching your side, stumbling and slurring his words.

"You're this drunk, and it's only...11:30..." you read out to him from your phone, which was now pinging with several messages from various unknown numbers.

Who the hell is texting me this much?

"Sorry about him. He always gets this way. I'll get Jiro to force him to drink some water and sober up." The redheaded man whose bed you were currently sitting on thankfully thwarts Denki's intoxicated plan to try and flirt with you, guiding him to the kitchen while he whines in disappointment.

"Thanks, Kirishima. Poor guy definitely needs to take a break."

you decide to finally check your phone to see what all texts from unknown numbers was about while you wait for the game to start.

"Alright!! Ladies and Gentlemen, it is time to play the game of truth or dare!"

Mina's voice booms through the room, evoking excited jeers from the students who remained at the party.

"Today, we have a newbie! Not only is she new to UA, but she's never played truth or dare before! Like ever! In her entire life!"

The partygoers make various exaggerated noises of shock and cheer you on as you laugh along with them, your awkwardness having been eased by the alcohol and vibes.

"You're in for a wild ride, Dove," Kirishima says softly into your ear. "Promise I won't let them make you do anything you don't want to. That's just not my style."

You feel your face heat up at the proximity. His breath fanning against your neck and face. He smells nice, a little like beer and sweat, but mostly nice, and you're inclined to trust him as he scoots a little bit closer to you on his bed.

Mina begins to explain the rules to the group as a recap for them and an introduction for you. They're pretty simple; one person starts by asking whoever they want the question, "truth or dare." The person asked then picks their poison; if they pick truth, they must answer a "juicy" question (Mina's phrasing), and if they pick dare, they must complete a dare (obviously). The catch is that if you refuse to complete your challenge, you have to drink.

With bottles and solo cups in everybody's hands, the game starts.

"Mina," Kirishima starts, "truth or dare."

Mina ponders the question for a second before deciding, "Hmmmm... let's start this game off with a bang. Dare."

"I dare you to give the hottest person in the room a kiss on the cheek." Kirishima responds, leaning back on his elbows with a satisfied smirk on his face.

"Alright, if you say so." Mina begins to walk slowly and dramatically across the circle to where you and Kirishima sit, inching closer and closer to Kirishima before turning her face at the last minute to plant a kiss on your face, leaving a pink lipstick mark on your cheek.

"My roomie is obvi the hottest here. No question." Mina giggles, sitting down as Kirishima pouts.

"Alright, my turn to ask then." Mina turns to look at Bakugo and daringly chooses him. "Boomboy. Truth or dare?"

"Truth. And don't call me that shit." He scoffs out, making Mina stifle a laugh.

"What's your body count?" The room goes quiet in anticipation of his response.

"That's a stupid question. Ask another."

"Thats not how the game works Kacchan."

"Fine. One." Bakugo replies, looking down into his drink and swirling the dark liquid.

"That's not true Kacchan. You have to tell the truth."

With that last comment, Izuku had properly pissed Bakugo off.

He takes a long drink from his cup, face contorting at the taste of the alcohol after, and continues on to his turn.

After a few rounds of chaotic fun, with Shinso being asked if he's ever used his quirk in bed (he chose to drink) and Kirishima being made to lift as many classmates as he could, finally, it was your turn to be asked a question.

"Dove, truth or dare."

"Truth, I'm not so confident I can handle a dare just yet."

"Who do you think has the hottest body in 1A?"

You stare back at (well, more like through) Hagakure who had chosen the question for you, then look around the room.

"Well, if we're talking girls, that's impossible. Everyone here is gorgeous."

"Guys then?" Hagakure keeps prying, trying to get you to spill something juicy.

"It's gotta be between Bakugo and Kirishima. I can't choose. Is that good enough?"

Both men's eyes go wide at your statement, with Kirishima sporting a bright pink blush and Bakugo turning away in embarrassment.

Kirishima suddenly feels completely sober looking at you. He knows he has a nice body; he works hard on it every single day. What surprised him wasn't the implications of your statement. It was the fact that you were saying it.

On the other side of the room, though he put on a tough face, Bakugo felt just a twinge of the same thing his best friend was feeling.

Except you were already next to Kirishima.

And this whole damn thing was way too stupid for him.

"My turn to ask!" You announce in delight, scanning the room for whoever would be your first victim.

"Sho, truth or dare?"

He thinks for a second before deciding his fate.

"Truth."

"I'm gonna go easy on you. Have you ever had a crush on anyone in this room?"

You were sure this would be a no-brainer for your stoic and driven best friend. For as long as you've known him, which is basically your entire life, he has never once expressed romantic feelings for anyone. He didn't even seem like the type to have time for a relationship.

Shoto Todoroki lifts his cup to his mouth and chooses to drink.

If there is no difference biologically between males and women, what is the point of hormone replacement therapy and top/bottom surgeries? Why don’t males get periods but women do? Why transition medically if there is no difference? Why don’t they have uteruses and periods?

I'm going to assume this isn't bait, and isn't from a terf (which it likely is but I'm giving the benefit of doubt), bc it still is a launching point for discussion. But the tldr is that this is a huge misrepresentation of my thinking, and the language of "males and women" makes me think that misrepresentation is intentional.

"no difference between male and female" is not what I was saying at all. It is somewhat subtle, but this is a crucially different point than I have maintained.

There are traits that we describe as male, and traits we describe as female. They are correlated with each other: eg, someone with a female reproductive system is more likely to have a female hormonal system.

However, using the words as categories that completely, unilaterally define the entire biology of each individual human is why the terms "biological women" and "biological man" don't make sense.

And yes, this applies to cis, perisex people as well! If you're a cis man, it's incredibly likely that you have a couple of traits that are "female", even though most of your traits are male. Vice versa for cis women. Even when people aren't categorically intersex, you still see cis women with body hair, occasional unknown male reproductive cells that can go completely unnoticed, and more! This isn't fringe cases or incidental happenings, this is the reality of human variation.

Every aspect of medical transition is essentially identifying a set of traits that a trans person possesses of their predominate natal sex, and making them the other sex. This is one reason why transition is also not "one size fits all"- not everyone needs to fully adjust every trait to be "male" or "female", whether it's bc some of their traits already are male or female, or bc you don't need all of your traits to be male or female overall.

The problem with saying "biological man" or "biological woman" is not that it acknowledges that male and female traits exist- its that they're overgeneralized categorizations that break down and become useless to address the biology and medical considerations of the individual. Even in genetics and lineage tracing, saying "male" and "female" holds an implicit, additional description that those individuals are reproductively female or male.

If you don't have a biology background, or are entrenched in gender binaries, I understand that this can seem like the same point as "men and women are biologically the same" but it's not. It's just precision in language, which is extremely important when we're specifically talking about medical care and science that centers around these exact concepts.

So to recap: saying that certain, specific aspects of someone's body are "male" or "female" is not biologically inaccurate. Generalizing this to sweeping, overly simplistic categories IS inaccurate.

And I'm about to fuck off to the mountains, so imma turn reblogs off on this post so shit doesn't get out of control while I have inconsistent or no internet access. But I def will explain more of this biology and language in the future.

You… have trouble believing this is the end of your journey. You should recap everything in your head real quick. Just to make sure you remember everything, mostly. Your memory’s never been that good, after all.

It was almost a year ago now that The King appeared, seemingly out of nowhere. Possessing immense Craft Power, he did something never heard of before— he spread his Curse across the country of Vaugarde, freezing in time everything in its path. With Dormont’s House of Change under his control, he patiently waits, for he knows his Curse can only be undone if he is defeated.

His victory would be all but determined, if not for The Housemaiden, Mirabelle. She is the only survivor of the House of Dormont, in which the King froze everyone inside in time and locked the gates. Everyone says she was blessed by the Change God themselves with the power to fight back the King’s Curse… which makes her the only one able to save Vaugarde, bound by her destiny.

When you met her, she had already been traveling with The Fighter, Isabeau, and The Researcher, Odile. They were trying to get the orbs necessary to open the House’s gates and defeat the King. You helped them defeat a rather strong Shadow, and, seeing your strength, they asked for your help. You… had nothing better to do, so you decided to accompany them!

Shadows are… a manifestation of grief, or something. You never researched them, but Odile seemed to know a bit about them, so you just took what she’s said at face value. They usually take the shape of figures from old Mythology or works of Fiction, though how they know of those forms is unknown. Some speculate that these Shadows had once been people, and they take the form of whatever they had the most attachment to in life upon their turning, but that theory has never been proven, supposedly. Either way, they’re a bit of a nuisance.

Anyways— a few weeks later, you met The Kid, Bonnie. Meeting them completed your little ragtag team of heroes. Though, Bonnie is mostly just your snack master. That doesn’t make them any less important, however!

You saw a lot of Vaugardian cities during your travels. Some frozen, some not, and you’ve done your best to sidestep the slowly encroaching Curse. Even still, though… you all kept going.

Mirabelle kept going to honor the Change God’s blessing, save her beloved house, and save Vaugarde. She didn’t have any other choice, after all— she is the only one who can.

Isabeau came with her after Vaugarde’s Defenders themselves refused to help. A bunch of cowards, probably.

Odile came to satisfy her curiosity about Vaugarde. She’s from another country, which makes sense, and she’s supposedly here to research… whatever she’s researching. … and because, in her words, “leaving the fate of a country to a bunch of young ones would give me an ulcer”.

Bonnie came to save their sister, frozen by the Curse. You worry about them, sometimes.

… you’re here because there’s nothing else for you to do. What else are you supposed to do except travel with them?

Once… Mirabelle asked if you were okay, following them on a journey to save the country. She felt guilty, like she was forcing everyone to follow her on a hopeless quest.

You wanted to put her at ease, so you said easily and truthfully that traveling with everyone was the happiest you could remember being. She… looked upset.

You cringe just thinking about it, honestly. Probably not the most considerate thing you could’ve said to someone with her problems at that moment!

But… tomorrow, one way or another, your journey will come to an end.

You tell everyone as you arrive that you’re tired, and you’re going to go find someplace to nap. They nod, and you’re off.

But… before you do, you have a stop to make. Just for some peace of mind. So, you head towards the favor tree on the west side of town.

… this tree is said to grant wishes. You’re not too sure about that, but… you may as well, right? You heard everyone else was going to, anyways. And, who knows, maybe it’ll come true?

You try to rack your brain for something to wish for. After a moment, something pops into your head. You’ve heard Isabeau mention something in passing before, haven’t you? That he wants to be a clothing designer, you think. That seems like a good wish to make. And, who knows, maybe it’ll help his dream come true, too.

You take a leaf from the favor tree, and whisper your desire into it three times.

“… I wish to be able to wear clothes Isabeau has made.”

… you pause, for a moment. And then whisper something else into the leaf, in addition to your first wish.

“I want to stay with them.”

This journey has been the most fun you can ever remember having. You… you love them. Your party. You’ve made such good friends on this journey, and you want to stay with them. Who wouldn’t? They’re your friends, after all…

You then fold the leaf over, and let it drift back into the shadow of the tree. You have a good feeling about that!

Afterwards, you get a move on. You find a clearing near the south side of town, slowly crouching down and splaying yourself across the soft grass. Feels just like a soft bed, you think. You haven’t slept in one for who knows how long. It’s just been sleeping bags, mostly. As you close your eyes, you feel yourself drifting off to sleep nearly instantly. You didn’t realize how tired you were…

… you dream of a strange room, covered in strange shades, with a strange man sitting in the middle of it. What is this place? You feel yourself walking forward, standing in front of the strange man’s desk, as he opens his mouth to speak.

“Well, isn’t this surprising? A brand new guest, and one with quite an intriguing fate at that. I wasn’t expecting anyone for some time now.”

You open your mouth to respond, but he cuts you off.

“Ah-ah. I apologize, but I will have to make this quick. Your nap is going to be rather short, after all.”

The man clears his throat, then places his hands on his desk, interlocking his fingers. You want to ask what he means about attendants, but you can’t get any words in before he starts speaking once more.

“Welcome to the Velvet Room. My name is Igor… I am delighted to make your acquaintance. This is the space between dream and reality, mind and matter. It is a space only those who are bound by a ‘contract’ may enter. And it seems that such a fate has already befallen you, even without your knowledge.”

What? But you don’t remember signing any contract. You… you could have, though. Maybe you’ve just forgotten. Maybe it was that insignificant in your mind.

“Now then… why don’t you introduce yourself?”

Finally, a chance to speak. You open your mouth once again, ready to belt out all the questions you have— but instead, all you’re able to say is your name. “Siffrin.”

“… Siffrin. No middle name, no last name. Is that correct?”

You nod. Stars, that’s annoying. Why can’t you talk? Dream logic, or something?? Ugh, this dream sucks.

“I see. An interesting name, but I suppose it is one befitting of one surrounded by as much mystery as you. Now then… why don’t we take a look into your future?”

A set of tarot cards appear on the man’s desk. He flips one over, and examines it closely.

“Ah… I see. The tower, in the reversed position. This card represents resistance to change, and the delaying of the inevitable…”

He flips another card over. You already don’t like this.

“The star, in the reversed position. A card representative of despair… I see.”

He flips one last card over. This has to be fake, right? It’s just a dream, without any meaning. You’re sure of it.

“… Judgement, in the upright position, representing reflection, and rebirth.”

The tarot cards disappear, and the man smiles at you. Like he has been, this entire time. Stars, you haven’t really gotten a good look at this guy— you’ve been kind of out of it, but something is off about him. His skin isn’t lightless or darkless, nor a shade inbetween, his smile never seems to falter, and his nose is far too long to be normal. Who is this man? … Well, you suppose you know the answer. ‘Igor’. A strange man, in a strange room, in a strange dream. That sums up this situation rather well, you suppose.

“It seems you will face a great trial in the near future. One in which you resist oncoming time, and face despair and hopelessness because of it.

But fear not. You will overcome this trial through reflection, and in the end, you will face rebirth. A new day to come. Yet, if you fail to overcome this trial, you may be forever lost. My duty is to provide assistance to our guests to ensure that does not happen.”

Your head hurts. This is a lot to take in at once.

“I would like to introduce my assistant to you, but it seems they’re not here as of yet. They’re late. But they will be here soon enough to accompany you throughout this perilous journey.

We shall attend to the finer details another time. Until then, farewell…”

Your vision faces to black, and…

You reawaken in the field to someone calling your name. Your head hurts from that dream. Too many weird shades to take in… but at least you’re back in your lightless and darkless world, now. Normalcy. That’s what you need right now.

if no-one is going to GIVE ME specific info on Hajime Hinata's parents then i will MAKE MY OWN specific info on Hajime Hinata's parents.

(or rather i'll present several possible scenarios and you can choose your favourite.)

Let's recap what we know about them first: they are very normal, they are rich (enough to send their son to Hope's Peak), they have a tendency to slap money over Hajime's problems (which is evident in their choice to send him there and also sign to the Kamukura project), and Hajime's insecurities were either unknown to his parents or never addressed by them. For the purposes of this, I'm assuming he's an only child, as there isn't evidence to suggest otherwise.

I'm going to hesitantly rule out the idea that Hajime's parents were two very talented people who put a lot of pressure on their son to also be talented - it just doesn't strike me as a very "normal" family. I think it's possible, though. Hajime's admiration of talent could come solely from seeing talented peers or walking by Hope's Peak every day; it doesn't have to be family-centric.

I have a few possible scenarios. The first is the classic "business dad", a rich father with no time for his son. I feel like that makes logical sense, and you could make an argument that it's "normal". It's clear emotional neglect has played a role in Hajime's deep insecurities. If Hajime's mother had a mindset of "Boys shouldn't cry", that emotional neglect would lead him to brush aside his problems.

I was also thinking about what is considered "normal" by standards of abuse. Verbal abuse and emotional neglect, for example, are often normalised (let's be fucking clear- they should not be.) in households as a result of cycles of abuse. Those two in particular are often harder to notice. Thinking stereotypically, if his father was verbally abusive (perhaps about academics or something similar?) and both his parents were emotionally negligent, that would mean his insecurity goes unresolved and possibly worsens when he makes mistakes (although that might not make sense, since Hajime is quite confident in his general abilities, just insecure about lack of talent).

Alternatively, we could consider how perceptive Hajime is as a result of his upbringing. He's very emotionally aware of others, and seeks to understand them more than anything else. If his parents had relationship issues his entire life, and it fell to him to comfort them or resolve the problem, it might explain his behaviour with regards to that. It'd also lead him to prioritise his own issues less.

Another option is just distrust. Parents can mess up handling their child emotionally and completely ruin a connection with them- it does happen. It's very possible that Hajime's parents have been trying to get him to open up for years, but he can't trust them because of problems in the past. As such, they'd know something was wrong, but not what it is or how to deal with it.

One thing that continues to stump me - I have no fucking idea how Hope's Peak got them to sign the Kamukura project. What would be reasonable enough initially for results to come back that your son fucking died and for you to not sue?

I will say, considering how confused Kyoko is about her own life in her FTEs, I wouldn't be surprised if much of Hajime's life has been erased to hide his lack of talent. What is odd is how much he doesn't notice this- other characters mention their families, worry about friends, desire to leave (let's be clear, nowhere near as much as in THH); if Hajime's memory of these things was hazy, wouldn't that strike him as strange? Obviously it could go into a whole "well he forgot that he forgot!" situation, but that feels like an excuse.

Is it possible that his family doesn't matter much to Hajime himself? If so, why? There's a number of reasons why a person might not value their family- possibly because it isn't a safe space for them. That's also something to consider.

I dunno. These are mostly rambles. Some of this is taken from my own life experiences. I'm being very generalised about this, since I don't know much about cultural specifics, which I think might play a role.
