How about Kyle and the reader both act they meet for the first time when making a movie together. Kyle falls for the reader. They end up being involved on the set of the movie after they are done filming. Then on the night of the movie premiere they go together and then end up at Kyle’s house they are involved again but when the reader awakes up Kyle is gone and has left her a note with a pair of his sweat pants and tshirt saying last night was fun here is an outfit to go home in then she gets invited to her friends house for a pool party. Then it’s been about a month since the reader and Kyle have talked. She suddenly gets a call from a director saying hey can you come read lines for a new movie I’m filming you have been recommended by my main star to be his leading lady so they reader says yes and goes and reads the lines when the main actor suddenly appears and reads his line the readers heart skips when she realizes it’s Kyle then she gets hired for the part and she drives off with the script and the filming schedule she goes to her friends house and tells him everything Kyle had followed her and he says to the readers friend what are you doing with my girl? Then the readers friend says first of all she is not your girl she was never your girl I you sleep with her 2 times and then don’t text or call her you broke her heart so leave her alone. Then Kyle just smiles and shakes his head and says but she will be I won’t stop till she is mine. Then Kyle becomes obsessed with the reader won’t leave her alone and he uses the movie which is a story about them to try and seduce her and win her over. You can add things if you want but here is a idea don’t have to use it just figured it might help

She found it unusual that he wasn’t automatically responding since no matter how busy he would be, he’d always text back or call back

She gets off of her phone, and decides that maybe he decided to not check his phone when he’s extremely busy anymore. The day of the pool party arrives, and she was in a cute bikini in hopes he’d be at the party. Music was blasting outside as many people were swimming or hanging out beside the pool. She looks everywhere for Kyle, but didn’t see him. She gets out her phone from her purse to text him. She had her phone on do not disturb up until now, but was shocked to see no new messages from him

She decided to call him. Straight to voicemail. She felt hurt and decided to text him since it’s been a bit. She texted him to ask if he was okay, but the message failed to send. She felt heartbroken as her friend noticed her. “Yo! Y/n, are you okay? Where’s your boyfriend?” He asked her as he realizes the look of betrayal on her face. “He’s not coming…” she says as tears begin to leave her eyes. “I’m only upset because it seems like he also blocked me as well”

“What an asshole. I know what would get your mind off of him!” He exclaims with happiness, despite her mood being the complete opposite. “Moviesss!!!” He says as he takes her hand to help her out of the crowd. She soon finds herself in his living room with her shirt and shorts back on. She’s under a blanket with movies playing on his projector. He went back to party as she just stayed there and watched all of her comfort movies

She had fallen asleep there. A month had passed, and still nothing from Kyle. She’s been avoiding a lot of his interviews since she didn’t want to know what he’s said about them. She was still heartbroken and felt like she had been broken up with in a way that hurt more than saying anything at all. She couldn’t move on, since she was still a month fresh out of the relationship. She did wonder if he did say anything positive about her

She goes onto YouTube, but instantly gets a call. She sighs and answers the call. “Hello Y/n! I’m working on a romance movie and non of the people I’ve seen acting out the main character don’t seem to have that spark or interest in the role. You’ve been recommended by one of the stars, so I would love to see your acting skills in person” the director says with enthusiasm. This makes her happy since she did need something to work on to get her mind off of everything

Please come in two days from now, since you’ll need to fly out for this” the direction says, which makes her excited. The day arrives: she sat down on a chair with the script in hands. She guess she got the wrong kind of vibe from him over the phone

She looks up from her watch to see Kyle. Her heart begins pounding rapidly in her chest now. The director was sitting across from the two now, and observing her acting skills. She pushed all of her thoughts aside, and realized the scene that she was reading was a character very in love with his character. They power through the scene that was supposed to be acted out as an audition. “You seem down. Did something happen at work? Did he yell at you again?” She asked with concern in her voice as she was in character

“I’m only down because I’ve missed you all day. You’re laughter and smile was all I wanted to see and hear all day, but instead I was stuck at work” he responds in character as she felt her heart racing rapidly still, hoping it wasn’t loud enough. “Did you think about killing your boss again?” She continues in character. “Somehow I didn’t. Because instead of thinking about killing him, I did” he responds back in character. Her character was meant to go silent here, and so she did

“But I did it since he was getting in the way of us. I don’t want anyone to get in the way of us” he continues. “Neither do I” she spoke in a seductive voice as her character. “Good” he says as he’s still in character as he gets up to approach her. She wasn’t entirely sure how to respond since it was hard for to understand all of this. He looks at her with eyes filled with yearning, and she didn’t know how to feel about this. “You definitely got the role! Wow! You really are wonderful” the director says cheerfully

She gets up and leaves immediately now, and Kyle follows her. She got into her rental car as she now drove off to a friend’s house that lived near the set. She was allowed to enter the place without knocking especially if something like this was to happen. Kyle had just pulled up to the driveway, and parked his car. He gets out of his car as he could hear her sobbing

She had already told him everything that had happened, and so he was hugging her in comforting embrace. Kyle was inside now, and his blood was boiling at the scene in front of him. “What are you doing with my girl?” Kyle shouts as her friend looks at him now. “Your girl? 1. You didn’t show up to the pool party that she invited you too. 2. She thinks that this was your way of breaking up, so she doesn’t think that she’s even your girl anymore”

Kyle waits to say something until she had stopped crying. Kyle looks at her and notices that it would take a while for her to get back with him. Her friend stops hugging her as she leaves to go back to the hotel she was staying at. Kyle looks back at her friend once she was out of sight. Kyle smiles after shaking his head. This makes her friend curious and confused. “She’ll be mine again. I won’t stop until she is”

Kyle leaves her friend’s house knowing she wouldn’t believe her friend if he ever brought it up. Kyle acted too sane in front of her for this to be believed. It was the first day back being on set with him again. The first scene was of her covered in fake blood. A crime scene in front of her character. She grins with malicious intent. Then his character pops up to kill the same guy, but finds out that he was already killed

One scene down. She was assisted with getting the fake blood off. Kyle watches her hungrily. She eventually got back into her trailer to wash up. When she was only wrapped up in a towel, Kyle knocks on her door with a bouquet of her favorite flowers. She opens her door to see him looking at her wet body immediately. “Oh! Hey Kyle” she says as she wishes that she wasn’t still into him

“Hey, I’d like to apologize for blocking you. I was told to do it so I could focus on my role more” he says as his eyes met hers. She forgives him, and takes the roses, but didn’t let him inside. Day two of filming arrives: her character was sent to kill his character. She usually did her own stunts, which the director was impressed by her. She was about to ‘stab’ him when he brought her down into his lap with one quick motion

She does blush, which luckily could be edited out. “So, you’re the one taking my job” he spoke in character. “I’m not taking anyone’s job” she spoke as she ‘fought’ to be out of his grasp. “Listen before you do something you’ll end regretting” he threatened as he continues to stay in character. “Fine! What’s on your mind?” She asked as she stayed in character

“I think we should team up” he says as his hand begins to rub her thigh. She continues to blush as he places a hand onto her cheek. “I don’t do team work” she says, which makes him raise an eyebrow. “I could convince you” he says as he continues to rub her thigh. “Fucking me won’t convince me” her character speaks, which makes his character raise an eyebrow

“That’s a damn shame, since you’d probably enjoy it” his character says as his character easily takes the knife out of her hand. “You could also use a better weapon than this” his character says as the knife gets placed down onto the coffee table. The rest of the shooting day went smoothly and she was happy to be done for filming for the day

She was getting ready to go out to ease her mind and get away from Kyle. After she was dressed, she did decide to see if he had in fact said anything about her in interviews. She was worried that he did in fact say that the two were still together, despite blocking her. She gets onto YouTube before another call interrupted once again. It was a number that she hadn’t recognized, but decided to answer it just in case if it was work related

Her heart wanted to come out through her mouth once she heard Kyle’s voice. “Hey, are you free tonight?” He asked her, which makes her a bit hesitant to respond, but maybe she could get answers as to why he blocked her or why he finally wanted to talk after time had passed. Sure it wasn’t a whole lot of time considering the situation, but it was enough time for her to feel heartbroken

“Yeah” she says truthfully, wondering if she’d regret saying that later. “I know I ghosted you, and I thought I should make it up to you” he explains, which makes her have mixed feelings. “I figured we could go out to a restaurant that I’d figured you’d like. I would understand if you didn’t want to go though” he says, which makes her think deeply about all of this

Would she get the answer of why he ghosted her if she went? Maybe, but also the two would be going somewhere public together. She had more of a harder time staying away from paparazzi compared to him, and she wasn’t sure if she’d be comfortable with all of this information coming out about her current relationship status. “Well if we were to meetup, could we possibly just stay in my trailer or yours?”

She could feel his smile on the other side- a genuine smile and not a fake one. “Yeah. I wouldn’t mind that” he says honestly, which makes her smile. She decides to hang out with him, even if she did originally want to go out to escape from all of this. But deep down, she missed him just as much as he missed her. She seems very tempted to give in to whatever feeling she was currently feeling

A soft knock on her trailer gets her out of her thoughts. She goes over to open the door, and saw him standing there in what he’d normally wear. He still had fake blood on him, which was very hot to her. He also held a single rose in his hand, which makes her blush. “This is for you” he says as he hopes she’d accept the flower

“T-Thanks” she stuttered out, which makes her embarrassed. He smiles as he decides to place it in her hair since he knew she’d like that. She seems more relaxed and less on edge than usual. It was refreshing for her as the two now sat down on her bed. A movie was playing on the tv in her trailer: she’s cuddling up to him as the two were now lying down on the bed instead of just sitting. His arm was wrapped around her as her head rested on his chest

Neither of the two were really paying attention to the movie. Kyle was stroking her hair as she finds herself getting sleeper by the second. She realized how much she missed being in his arms and just being this close to him. He was thinking about how he was just happy to be this close to her again, and was also excited to her friend’s reaction to the two being back together. She does fall asleep, which makes him kiss her forehead

He takes the rose out of her hair too, and was about to get up when she brings him back to lying in bed. “Stay” she murmurs, which makes him smile again. “I’ll stay” he says truthfully

Edit: when I mean unmarked genderwise, i don't mean gender neutral. I mean when a fic is intended for a female reader and this is not mentioned in the tags or at the top of the fic. Only a few paragrahps in, suddenly female gendered words are mentioned. That's the disappointment :/ cuz a lot of fics read real nicely until you have to replace words consciously.

World building/Storybuilding: BattleTech+Pern

I said I would do it, and so here we go.

Pont the first: IIRC from *Dragonsdawn*, a one of the reasons that many of the original Pernese colonists were willing to leave their lives behind and try to make a go at down-teched pastoralism on a resource-poor planet out beyond the edges of settled space was because a big chunk of them were veterans of a brutal interstellar war. Also, because it was Admiral Benden's idea, and after the leadership he showed during said war, they were willing to follow him anywhere.

Well, that sounds familiar. So the original colonists being a segment of the Exodus Fleet that misjumped to ~2,000 years into the past somewhere in the Deep Periphery makes sense. And really, who but the SLDF is going to have a sapient supercomputer and the ability to turn small psychic flying lizards into Dragons? I'm gonna leave out the dolphins, though.

You are perhaps asking, wait, if you are leaving out the dolphins, why are you including AIVAS? Well, because I want to not just have Peen exist in BT, I want it to be RELEVANT, and since it's a single, resource-poor largely pre-industrial world, that means I need to give them as many advantages as possible, and an advanced AI with all the knowledge of the Star League goes a long way towards that goal. For the same reason I am considering having Yokohama be a WarShip. Although it's been sitting in orbit without maintenance for 2500 years, it probably isn't in fighting shape even before they used it to move the Red Star (can you do that with KF Drives, BTW?). I also considered that they have basically a Brian Cache at Landing, but again over 2500 years with no maintenance, and also that might be a bit much

Anyways. It's noted that the Dragonrider playbook was adapted from space fighter tactics, and AIVAS still recognized them as such in the Ninth Pass, so theoretically Dragonriders can be retrained as ASF pilots. Although, I am not sure that's needful: I vividly remember an illustration in The Dragonlover's Guide To Pern that show Ramoth as being roughly the same size as a jumbo jet. Ramoth is, of course, the biggest dragon ever, but there's no indication that she has gigantism, so one presumes the other Golds, while smaller, are of roughly similar size, that the Bronzes are only somewhat smaller than that, and the Browns only slightly smaller than that. Who knows about the Blues and Greens? But anyways, something that big dropping on your head out of *between* (stupid phone not letting me italicize on Tumblr) is going to ruin pretty much any Mech's day, even if they weren't also able to breathe fire or yoink you off to *between*, and maybe do other TK tricks.

Ok, so. As you might imagine by what I have said thus far, I am figuring that, on the Pern side of things, the planet is rediscovered during All The Weyrs of Pern, or perhaps slightly after if we leave out AIVAS deactivating itself. Not sure what's a good time on the BT side, or by who or how, and no idea what comes next.

Hence my asking y'all. Please help?
