Es tremendamente trágico ser un arpa sin cuerdas, tener la forma y el aspecto de un cristiano, pero carecer de cuerdas que pueda tañer el Espirtu Santo. No hay nada más terrible que ser una higuera estéril, tener la forma de un cristiano pero no llevar fruto. Ser una estrella que no brilla, ser una nube sin lluvia, un espejo roto cuyo propósito conferido por Dios era el de atrapar la luz hermosa del Señor y reflejarla a todo el universo.

É certo que vamos enfrentar dificuldades e problemas. O caminho da vida crucificada traz muitos obstáculos, impedimentos e perigos. Assim, não é o fato de termos essas dificuldades, mas o que realmente determina a qualidade do nosso relacionamento com Deus é como lidamos com elas. Se desistimos, o que isso mostra a respeito da nossa confiança em Deus?

We insist upon trying to modify Him and to bring Him nearer to our own image. A. W. Tozer mencionaba que debemos expandir nuestro vocabulario para poder ser precisos con lo que intentamos comunicar: es una búsqueda de encontrar la palabra adecuada y utilizarla.

Como una persona curiosa, he intentado extender esta búsqueda a diferentes idiomas (lamentablemente poco se de los idiomas autóctonos de mi propio país, México) y he encontrado gratamente palabras como la antes descrita:

Mugetsu (japones) Aunque literalmente significa "Cielo sin luna", en realidad hace referencia a que la luna se encuentra oculta, invisible a nuestros ojos por un momento, pero sigue en el cielo.

Deseo poder ser capaz de ver esas cosas que se encuentran "ocultas" a simple vista y reflexionar sobre ello. En la calle, en el carro, en un super mercado ¿Cuántas historias ignoramos por no ver con un poco más de detalle? ¿Cuánto aprenderíamos de esas historias? ¿Cómo puedo al mismo tiempo identificarme con ellas?

Me resulta emocionante pensar en ello.

tozer identifying as straight while being very nonchalant about fucking men would bother irving so deeply because tozer would be so genuine about feeling that way, it wouldn’t come across as him lying to himself or anything like that. and irving would naturally be jealous of this because a) he knows deep down that he’s fully just gay and b) is incapable of feeling settled about it
