What gets me about I saw the tv glow is how fucking well the analogy of being buried alive works.

Like, on one hand there's a part of you that's suffocating. They're buried in an unmarked place and will never be found by anyone else besides you. If you want that part of you to breathe again you have to acknowledge it and you have to claw your way out.

On the other hand, the only way for you to save that other self is to bury your current self alive. You have to suffocate everything you know, likely abandon many relationships you currently have, and you have to die. You have to kill the you that you know and it's going to hurt like absolute hell. But if you never do it the other you will suffocate forever.

And at the same time it's not even 100% clear to you if this is even REAL, if the other you is even out there, and what if you bury yourself alive now and there is nothing there for you? AND AT THE SAME TIME you already know there's nothing for you here, as you are. This isn't how life is supposed to feel.
