R’s blind watch, episodes 92-97

This was a new watch session that lasted through the end of season three.

3x14 “Monster Reunion” - OK, it’s good where we left off last time, these first two episodes are potentially... emotional. As Steven selects Centi’s gem: Oh, that’s the, uh... (can’t find the word she’s looking for before the plot continues). When Centi is sorta healed, R was surprised at how well it sorta worked. I was a little disappointed that she didn’t have a bunch of questions after Centi’s story, but I think she picked up on the “damage from the diamonds” line.

3x15 “Alone at Sea” - As Steven leads Lapis to the boat: Yeah, it’s not gonna go so well. As Steven continues to convince Lapis: Yeah, you’re just [pantomimes shoveling, for “digging yourself deeper”]. There was an exasperated arm wave when Jasper showed up, but no verbal reaction until Lapis sent her flying: That boat’s fucked. We had a bit of a dialogue afterwards about the metaphor for abusive relationships.

3x16 “Greg the Babysitter” - Wait, was this one of the emotional ones? I see Rose [in the thumbnail] and I’m already torn in multiple directions. At the end of the “I Need a Little (Change)”, getting the pun: Aaaaaaay. Later on: I love how [baby Sour Cream] is just the exact same voice. [imitating it] Meh. She called the Rose line about “I watched him, I watched him climb up there!” The standard “oh god” when Rose broke the Ferris wheel and it went turbo.

3x17 “Gem Hunt” - Seeing the thumbnail, Is that Connie in a badass something or other? Or is it stupid? No, it’s Connie being badass. When Connie suggests splitting up, there was a definite facepalm and nope nope. When Connie makes the snowboard: Yay, personality that isn’t batshit. At the end of the episode, as Jasper backs away: I don’t know what to make of it. R backed me up on the notion that Connie’s eyes and brows on the outside of her goggles was visually weird and off-putting.

3x18 “Crack the Whip” - Some "eww” type reactions to Amethyst's goofy forms, and displeasure at her stealing the massive pile of donuts. Lots of “Kitty!” throughout the episode, but no verbal reaction to most of the plot. She did enjoy seeing Stevonnie fight, and had the expected Oh no at Amethyst’s sad end to the episode.

3x19 “Steven vs. Amethyst” - I don’t have any reactions noted. [shrug]

I have good notes on the rest of season three, so I’ll save that for the next post.
