So we’ve all agreed that Gotham is magically fucked, right? Like that place has ancient curses upon ancient curses like it’s nobodies business. The city was built on an evil magic swamp, a lot of people pissed off the wrong witches and all around, that shot mixed and did not age well.

It’s also common knowledge that Batman hates magic. So he doesn’t deal with that stuff. Which is as shame considering it could help deal with so much.

But do you know who’s job it is to take care it? The Champion of Magic. And who is the Champion of Magic? Billy freakin Batson aka Captain Marvel.

Problem. Billy is a hero, and people in the caped community tend to be pretty protective of their city. Batman especially when it comes to other heroes in Gotham.

Problem 2. Batman, again, doesn’t give a shit about Magic. And it’s not like Billy can hold an intervention. Cause what’s he going to say “oh by the way, your city is the magical equivalent of multiple stains that has grown into toxic mold and is in dire need of the equivalent of multiple bleaching sessions”

So now Cap is stuck. He’s also scared of getting adopted as Billy the second he enters the city.

Like imagine meeting the granddaughter of one of your heros and starting an adventure to said grandmother with the rest of her crew and one by one you recruit the rest of your heros, people whose expeditions were your bedtime stories. You fight side by side by them, you try solving the same puzzles as them, you even exchange banter with them. But you're not the one gathered by them while they they talk about their hopes, dreams, and imaginations

quality time guy by default. to give you his whole, undivided attention—with that sharp eye trained on details most wouldn’t even register—is his way of offering the best version of himself, to let his quiet love speak loudly with intention. this isn’t something he puts on for show. . he will tell you by his language that this is akin to breathing, this is him and his nature of love.

listening to each other’s playlist, offering you his thoughts, even recommending you songs he thinks you’d like—he’ll go down rabbit holes of albums you’ve never heard of, just to find that one track that might make your eyes light up.

watching documentaries, a smile lingering in the corners of his lips when you ask a thoughtful question, looking at you as if you’ve said something endearing. (you realize much later that he actually glances at you more than the screen.)

walking home together, with the setting sun bathed into the grooves of your skin as he lets you do the talking, or sometimes when silence grows, his cheeks would blossom as he feels the warmth of your hand in his, interlocked, as you tease him if he’s ever thinking about you. (he does, quite so.)

(and yes. one of his favourite memories are you and him studying at his place or yours despite how unproductive it gets because what matters is both of your knees are touching and he's telling you about the time he and yamaguchi built a lego set for hours until halfway through, as if it just occurred to him—he admits he’s been in love with you ever since he understood what love could be.

loving you, for him, is like building something that takes a lifetime. beautiful. steady. time dissolves into irrelevance. no matter how much time he'd waste, the quality is here, where he’s allowed to lay his heart bare without needing to speak a single word more.)

You know for all that the Fenton's are seen by the fandom as A+ parents, I really don't think anyone has really put any though into WHY they are like that.

Because its VERY clear that Butch bitchman has parent issues, if the Fenton's ACTUALLY acted based on their trauma with how they lost Vlad then they would be almost OBSESSIVE with how safe they are in the lab. They lost their best friend to a lab accident that nearly killed him and unknown chemicals/elements, you're telling me that wouldn't fundamentally scar 20 somethings actively prosuing beings that they see as dangerous? You're telling me they wouldn't look at the destruction of the lab and suddenly ask themselves how could this have happened? How could've they prevented this?

And if you REALLY like the Angst of the Fentons, imagine what it would do to them to realize the ONE time, ONE TIME, they didn't double and triple check the safety of their portal it cost them their son's life.

Anyway I really think it would've been more interesting if the Fentons were obsessed with lab safety and the inherent tragedy of their lives related to that.

Regulations are written in blood and the Fentons have learned this lesson twice over.

being identical to taako makes it pretty easy to assume what she looks like, but it was fun to think up hair and clothes for her!

i’m very sorry that society has made you feel this way about your fellow disabled people. i hope you can reflect on why you believe that other people with worse symptoms than you are bringing down this community and giving us a bad name.

(especially in the context of a vent post that is not indicative of whether or not we are “actually trying” in real life.)

i am also sorry that society makes you believe that in order for disabled people to be respected we have to consistently be working toward a nebulous goal of self improvement and overcoming of disability as to not be perceived as lazy and inconsiderate by the world.

i hope you can be kinder and more patient with yourself and your disability in the future, too.

I do love Ethan's smug "Mr. Lane, meet the IMF" at the end of Rogue Nation. Lane is alone when he traps Ethan at the start, but in springing a mirror of that trap Ethan doesn't wish he'd caught Lane on his own to prove himself equal. Quite the opposite—he's going "suck it Lane, I won because my friends are cool as fuck 😏" He's smug not in spite of having had help but because of it, and he's right to be!!!
