Of course, bro!! I had so much fun yapping about my favorite Disney movies 🥰 Aaaaand I have no doubt that I'm gonna have tons of fun again responding to this new ask, hehehe 😁 Thanks a lot for sending it! 🥰❤️💚

Still, instead of ranking the attacks and putting them in a specific order, I'm just gonna pick my favorites from each game. Hope it's okay hehe. Let's-a go!! ❤️💚

Superstar Saga

-Chopper Bros. Okay, this one just HAD to be here 😁 Not only because it'd work perfectly well for some people that you and I have in mind 😉 But also because it's freaking AWESOME 🤩 Man, I remember playing this game on my GBA and hitting the A button so fast that my thumb hurt 😂 But it was worth it because it helped release some adrenaline when hitting the enemies 😁 And the Advanced version was also PERFECT 👌🏻

-Fire Bros. At this point it's no secret that I freaking LOVE the bros' Firebrand and Thunderhand, and I believe the Bros. Attacks for each of them are chef's kiss 👌🏻 I mean, Mario creating as many fireballs as possible and then Luigi throwing them towards their enemies with his hammer? So freaking PERFECT. And same about the Advanced version with a HUGE fireball instead of 9 small ones 🤩🔥

-Thunder Bros. Same as the previous one, but with Luigi's Thunderhand! I mean, I think my fic An electrical aura speaks by itself when it comes to what Luigi's magic means to me and how freaking powerful he can be 😁 After all, he really can fry his enemies with lighting like in the Advanced version! 👏🏻⚡

Partners in Time

-Copy Flower. This attack was the funniest to me simply because of one thing: CHAOS 😂 Having four characters to control and trying not to get lost and press the wrong button as this attack got faster and faster used to make me nervous, but in a fun and even hilarious way, hehe. I could hold out for quite a while before failing 😂

Dream Team

-Bomb Derby. Hehehe you KNOW that this one had to be here, bro 😁😁 My freaking favorite for many reasons! First of all: I LOVED Mario's determined stance while poor Luigi was so freaking nervous all the time while holding the bombs 😂 (can't blame him at all lol). And the concept itself is so damn FUN. I love how this attack keeps you focused so you can slowly learn to get the hang of it, the pace at which you have to press the buttons and all that. It just felt so satisfying to do it perfect and hit the enemies with all the bombs 😁 It's AMAZING and I got so damn EXCITED when I saw they were bringing it back in Brothership!! 🤩💣🔨 (and the bombs are purple which is my favorite color lol)

-Bye-bye Cannon. Oh man, I remember this attack and I get so GIDDY. In a way it reminded me of the Copy Flower from Partners in Time, but with two characters instead of four, which made it easier. Sometimes I did struggle to remember the order lol, but even when I failed I laughed a lot with this attack 😂 I loved the concept and the effects, and the bros made some silly poses as they stomped on their enemies!! I swear I'm feeling like replaying Dream Team just so I can try this attack again 🥹

-Luiginary Wall. Honestly, I would've included a couple more of Luiginary Attacks here (like Luiginary Flame 🔥), but out of the six of them, this was always the one I enjoyed the MOST. It was so silly and crazy and chaotic!! The idea of having a bunch of Luigis forming a wall so that the main Dreamy Luigi can bounce off them while Mario hits his hammer so that he can do more damage to their enemies is just GENIUS 😂 And sooooo much fun!! I swear I could NEVER have enough of this attack 😁🔨

Paper Jam

-Drill Shell. This attack also reminds me of another one: Chopper Bros, because of how satisfying it felt to press the B button as fast as possible 😁 It also helped me release tons of adrenaline, and I loved that it was mostly Luigi doing this attack. And the pose that the bros took at the end of it was so adorable! ❤️💚

Brothership

-Clockout Blow. The freaking AWESOMENESS 🤩🤩 Man, this attack blew out my mind when I first played it. Well, I should rather say when I understood what I had to do, because the first time I failed miserably 😂 But I didn't take long to get the hang of it and catch the pattern, and the brothers are so freaking BADASS that it only made me love them even MORE 🤩🤩 The COOLEST attack in the entire game, imo 👌🏻👏🏻

-Max-Mix Vortex. Okay okay okay, WOW. Literally the LAST attack you learn in the game also became easily one of my most favorites 🤩🤩 Listen, I fucking LOVE it when characters can make magic out of their bare hands, so the bros not only having fire and ice powers but also combining them to create a freaking typhoon was just so damn AWESOME and so mindblowing to me. Sometimes I'd even try and get only a fire or ice typhoon 🤭 And, again, it reminded me of another attack, in this case Luiginary Typhoon from Dream Team, and the poses that the bros take at the end are a clear nod to this game!! This honestly only made me love it even MORE 😁👌🏻

So this is it! I know that I didn't include Bowser's Inside Story, but that's only because, despite being the favorite of most fans, it's actually the only one I was never able to finish... I just didn't find it entertaining enough, though I did enjoy an attack from it: Magic Window. I loved how creative and beautiful at the same time it was!

But yeah, this is my list! Honestly, as I was typing my answers, I felt more and more the need to replay these amazing games and get a bit more of brotherly love and silliness in my life 🥹🥹 I have to admit that I was feeling a bit disconnected from the brothers as it's been a while since I last wrote them, but with this post... I feel that this has been fixed at last 🥹

So, my dear bro, let me double thank you for sending this ask 🥰 As you know I freaking LOVE these games, and I really felt like reliving the experience of playing them thanks to your ask. I had soooo much fun!! ❤️💚

2024 SDCC A Conversation With Ron D. Moore

Greetings, anatomy students!

Long time – no see! 😜

As many of you know, I was at the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con last weekend. Saw a huge forest fire on the flight down. 🔥 I could see the main plume from miles away and it looked a good deal like a nuclear mushroom cloud! You can just make it out at the front of the wing. 😳

Arrived Thursday after lunch. Grabbed a shuttle that dropped me off near the Convention Center. Scrambled to the press desk, checked in, and got my Press Pass plus an ADA sticker as my ankle is not yet fully functional. 🤕

Rushed to Suite 6DE  barely making it into the event: “A Conversation With Ron D. Moore!”😅

The audience was surprised and delighted to discover the host was none other than Mary McDonnell of “Battlestar Galactica” and “Dances With Wolves” fame! You may recall, Mary played the part of President Laura Roslin on Galactica.

She greeted us with her melodious and resonant voice and soon invited the guest of honor to join her.

It was Ron D. Moore, himself! This is her brief introduction of Ron.

Mary welcomed Ron and told him how much she enjoyed working with him on Battlestar.  She then began a series of thoughtful questions which he answered with his usual frankness and candor.

She asked Ron if his ability to write strong women is an indication of feminism. He is not sure but he has empathy for women. I found the following part quite interesting as Mary queried Ron about writing parts for strong women in the face of power.  She complimented him for being able to do this as few men show such talent and insight.  She also praised him for writing equally strong men.

I wondered if he writes strong women intuitively, and not necessarily by plan. He said he enjoys writing parts for strong women. He talked about the process of getting a female captain (Captain Janeway) onto Star Trek: Voyager. He also said he puts himself in women’s shoes which is always a winning strategy, imo. 🤩

Mary asked Ron about shutting off the creative process when he is not at work.  He doesn’t really do that. He is able to leave work and concentrate on other things but running in the background is always something that his brain is working on. He warned about getting totally immersed as a show runner because there is no limit to the amount of involvement that can engulf one.

In this last and final clip, Mary asked Ron about the great love between Jamie and Claire throughout their different lives and across time.  Ron agrees that Diana Gabaldon wrote the perfect love story of two people who found their soul mates. although it is a wonderful concept, he is not sure true love  is real and that there is only one soul mate for each of us. Mary loves the story of Jamie and Claire because it gives us hope. She is a solid fan of Outlander! 🥰

She ended the session with a huge hug for Ron. Clearly, she carries a lot of affection for him and their time working together!

I hope you enjoyed this review of Ron’s conversation with Mary. It was enlightening for me, especially Ron explaining that Outlander time has come to end. We who disagree will continue to read the books!  👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
