just that fanon sirius characterization is rightfully called out (i also did this extensively) for covert bigotry, but we talk about the "alpha" tag on remus as something he hasn't proven himself to be. as though it is not dehumanising or a slight on remus' canon too (given his rejection of werewolf stereotypes) but a standard that his pathetic self wouldn't ever fit into.

we do call out how abusive and gross these depictions can get, but still, there is an undertone of "remus isn't hot enough to be the alpha." which explains the hypocrisy of pushing the same stereotypes onto sirius and claiming it canon.

what im getting at, if any of the word jumble made sense, both are caricatures, but one is perceived as a slight to the character, and the other is perceived as a slight to the archetype itself.

I have seen a lot of largocest posts in the repo community. Like way more incest than any other fandom I’ve seen, some people are grossed out by it, and some are not, but i think something just clicked in my brain, so i want to say:

you can put incest in fiction, without outwardly having any of the characters condemn it, while still personally condemning incest. I have a pair of ocs for hazbin hotel (yes hazbin posting with repo again how kewl of me) that are twins and got sent to hell for among other things concerning cult activity having an incestous relationship. None of the other characters condemn it. Why? Because it’s hell. That’s the world they live in. If it were in the show it would be occasionally played for laughs in a dark humor kinda way, but i wouldn’t think anyone would go off at them for it, or maybe even acknowledge it’s wrong. This works with repo aswell because the world they live in? Fucked. Morality? Practically obsolete. Ethics? Never heard of her. So, practically, just like hell. The largo siblings were never meant to be good people. Actually they were always supposed to be horrible people. Like to a point you wonder if they’re even actually still people. You’re allowed to like them, they are BAD people and no matter how you cut it you can’t magically make them good and it’s supposed to be very difficult to humanize them. And looking purely at the source…I’m sorry but largocest makes sense. I don’t like it, i have my own ocs i ship with them but you can’t exactly say it’s ridiculous or out of place. The actual essence of repo I’ve learned over the time i interact with it is actually that we are all animals with hair and sweat and blood and we vomit and shit and piss and we keep trying to distance ourselves from it because we think of ourselves as better than our biology, we WANT to prove that we have something that differences us from animals, but deep down we are just as disgusting and horrible and all, to some extent, bad. Trying to apply fandom-typical moral puritany to repo does nothing except completely making the message pointless. If you want characters who are completely morally in the right, I’m sorry but…you might want to watch a different movie…

Honestly, I have no idea, I’m not very good at recs but I’ll always recommend pjo to anyone (but I’m gonna assume you’ve read that lol). But maybe inheritance games if you haven’t read it (mainly because it’s the most recent book I’ve read and my brain wants to focous on it) but that’s not really a ‘springy’ book, I’m sorry i couldn’t be much help 😭

I used to scroll endlessly reading the most comfy and warm stories. It was mostly p/okemon, dragons, and anthro stuff. I remember those late night curled in bed imagining the safety I craved, the attention and the feeling of being wanted and cared for.
