Mastering AP Exams: Essential Tips and Preparation Strategies in Dubai
1. Understand the Structure of AP Exams
The first step in preparation is to understand what each AP exam entails. Unlike many standardized tests, AP exams focus on specific subjects and demand in-depth knowledge in areas like Biology, Calculus, History, and Language Arts. Most AP exams consist of multiple-choice and free-response sections. For successful AP Preparation Dubai, students should familiarize themselves with both types of questions. Knowing the test format and types of questions expected will allow students to practice effectively and manage their time better during the actual exam.
2. Choose the Right Study Materials
A variety of study resources are available, ranging from textbooks to online platforms. Opting for high-quality materials is crucial for AP Prep Dubai, as it ensures students have access to accurate information and practice questions. Many students find that official resources from the College Board, the organization that administers the AP exams, provide a good starting point. Additionally, Dubai has numerous tutoring centers and libraries where students can find supplementary study materials. Online platforms like Khan Academy and Quizlet offer free resources tailored to specific AP subjects, allowing students to deepen their understanding of complex topics.
3. Develop a Study Schedule and Stick to It
Consistency is key when it comes to AP preparation. Instead of cramming, which can lead to stress and burnout, it’s better to follow a structured study plan. Break down each subject into manageable sections and create a timetable that allows ample time for review. An organized study schedule is especially crucial for AP Preparation Dubai students who may have other academic or extracurricular commitments. Setting achievable daily or weekly goals can keep students motivated and help them retain information effectively over time.
4. Practice with Mock Exams
Taking practice exams can be one of the most effective ways to prepare. Mock exams simulate the actual testing environment, helping students manage their time and identify areas of improvement. For students in Dubai, there are many ways to access these mock exams. Some tutoring centers provide in-person or online mock exams specifically designed for AP Prep Dubai students. This not only helps in building confidence but also reduces exam-day anxiety. The more practice exams a student takes, the better they understand their strengths and weaknesses, making it easier to target areas that need improvement.
5. Seek Guidance from AP Experts
Guidance from experienced AP tutors can provide a competitive edge. Many students in Dubai seek professional assistance for AP Prep Dubai, either through local tutoring centers or online classes. Tutors who specialize in AP exams are familiar with the curriculum and can offer insights into key topics and commonly tested areas. They also provide personalized feedback, helping students develop effective study techniques. In Dubai, there are numerous AP Preparation Dubai services, which often offer group classes, individual tutoring, and even online support to fit a variety of schedules and budgets.
6. Take Care of Mental and Physical Health
Preparing for AP exams can be overwhelming, especially with the pressure of balancing schoolwork and extracurriculars. To ensure optimal performance, it’s essential for students to prioritize their mental and physical well-being. Regular breaks, proper nutrition, and adequate sleep are fundamental. For students managing AP Prep Dubai alongside other activities, making time for relaxation is vital to prevent burnout. Exercise, hobbies, and social time can boost overall well-being and contribute to better focus and productivity during study sessions.
Final Thoughts
With diligent preparation, AP exams can open doors to incredible academic opportunities. By understanding the structure, choosing quality study resources, following a consistent schedule, practicing mock exams, and seeking expert guidance, students can confidently approach their AP exams. As AP exams play a pivotal role in university admissions, especially for international students, effective AP Prep Dubai can make all the difference. Balancing preparation with self-care ensures that students are both mentally and academically ready to tackle the challenges of AP exams and excel.

Teach the Need - Community for tutors and tutees
Teach The Need is a non-profit organization based in Toronto Ontario. Its mission is reducing educational inequality. It achieves this mission with a focus on providing free online 1-on-1 tutoring to students who cannot afford or access tutoring resources. Teach the Need provides the necessary tools and support to help low income and undeserved high-school students reach their full potential. We offer services to connect youth to resources, support, qualified educators, and webinars, to aid in career planning and other topics that may not directly school related, but absolutely necessary for ensuring a student’s success. We also foster a community of individuals who can help and work together.
1-on-1 Tutoring
Our volunteer tutors are trained to provide 1-on-1 tutoring for students in high school for a variety of courses and subjects such as mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology, and more. Advanced level coursework such as AP and IB can also be accommodated. All our tutors are either university undergraduates or senior level students attending high school. We ask that all potential tutees exhaust their financial resources before applying to be a part of Teach the Need, and tutee-tutor matching will be based on a first-come first-serve basis. Tutoring sessions last between 30-60 minutes.
To sign up for tutoring, submit the form from our home page. Once the form has been submitted, students will be matched with a tutor in their desired subject. The form will also ask for email in which we can contact you with. Each tutor will be responsible for managing 2-5 students at a time, and the tutor will reach out to the student to set up availability. It is up to the student if they would like a tutoring session every week or every two weeks. Sessions will take place over Zoom or Microsoft Teams based on student's preference, and can last 30 minutes or 1 hour. Tutors will have the option to share their screens and give lectures via their drawing pad, touch pad, or One Note. In order for online tutoring to occur, we ask that all students have a stable internet, and a device that includes a microphone and a sound system (speakers/headphones) that allows video-calling. Understanding that not every student can have consistent access to a computer, other devices that a student can use include a cell phone, tablet, or a computer from a public library. If the session is happening over a public computer, tutors can connect via Google Hangouts.
Webinars
Teach the Need is fortunate enough to have members in the community willing to provide career talks. These talks come from a wide variety of professions, and serves as a means to inform high school students in post-secondary planning. Past professions we have chosen to highlight include car mechanic, family physician, finance analyst, and more. More specifically, we have noticed that people who attend these sessions can gain valuable insight on trajectories in the industry. These talks are also a great way for one to understand the obstacles that are inherent to certain professions. Finally, there is a Q and A period at the end of each session where you are able to ask any questions you would like to the guest speaker! Registration is open and completely free to anyone who would like to attend.
Newsletters
Our Teach the Need newsletter is distributed monthly, and provides study resources, tips, blog posts, and news that may not have been brought up in your tutoring sessions. It will also highlight extracurricular and job opportunities around the GTA (including remote positions due to the pandemic). This newsletter is also completely free and very useful
Drop in sessions and Facebook group
We have a welcoming community of tutors and tutees at
Teach the Need
! Join our Facebook group to ask questions with regards to school and courses. Furthermore, we host weekly drop-in homework help sessions Saturday 6pm EST every week that people can hop into! We’ll have a group of tutors in breakout rooms that can help with your homework 1-on-1.

The concept of having a work-life balance refers to maintaining an equilibrium between one’s career and personal responsibilities. In a world focused just as much on our successes and upward mobility as it is on our mental health, achieving such a work-life balance has been the topic of much discussion in recent years. Companies have even gone to great lengths to create funded initiatives to ensure their employees have the best work-life balance possible. More balanced individuals are more productive employees, after all.
Unfortunately, though, when you’re in high school and college no such initiatives exist. Nonetheless, students share the same experience of competing pressures from both school and life. As a student today, one might even argue that a school-life balance is often more difficult to attain due to increasing demands placed on young people to achieve. But, the same holds true here as in the workplace: More balanced students are more productive students.
With this in mind, below are 8 tips for helping you reach a healthier school-life balance. If you practice these tips now, making them second nature, they will follow you into college and beyond into your career.
1. Set boundaries
With the amount of work that high school course schedules demand of us, it can become easy to give our entire lives over to them. While the hope is that such studiousness will eventually lead to great success, working so hard all of the time can actually be harmful.
Therefore, it’s important to establish boundaries when it comes to our school work.
Boundaries help to ensure that we don’t give all of our time to studying, but that we also leave room for other activities that we enjoy. This “down time” refreshes our bodies and minds, actually allowing us to be more productive when we do return to our school work.
To begin working within boundaries, study diligently throughout the week, but (if possible) take at least one day off from school work per week to do the things you especially enjoy. If you’re not in a position to take an entire day off from school work, try to leave at least a portion of one day free for enjoyable activities. During these designated “times off,” allow yourself the luxury of not even thinking about your school work at all.
On days that you do work, be sure to schedule in breaks. Rather than take work breaks at random, utilize the Pomodoro Method, which is a great approach for ensuring productivity without burnout. In this method, a series of timers are set to track periods of work followed by shorter periods of rest. There are many free Pomodoro Method timers online, but this one is especially handy (and cute!).
2. Focus on time management by establishing priorities and setting goals
You likely won’t be able to finish your entire research project today (at least not well!). But, you can plan to finish the last chapter of your chosen novel today, research the author’s life tomorrow, and begin writing your introductory paragraph the next day.
The point here is that when you procrastinate and then set out to complete an entire task in one sitting, that task is often overwhelming. But when you pace yourself by setting manageable tasks that you can complete incrementally, that same project doesn’t feel so insurmountable.
To help with time management, create a to-do list, placing tasks of highest priority at the top of the list and working your way down to tasks of lowest priority. If you’re a visual person, write these individual tasks out on stickie notes that you can crumple up and throw away once each one has been completed. Physicalizing your accomplishments in this way brings a sense of accomplishment that simply crossing items out on a list does not.

3. Then, reward yourself when you reach your goals
Beyond the implicit reward of simply accomplishing tasks, plan explicit rewards to accompany each of your set goals. Whether it’s with a break, a piece of chocolate, or an episode of your favorite show, treat yourself when you achieve a set goal on your to-do list.
Your goals needn’t be extravagant in every case in order to warrant a reward, either. Have you read 20 pages of your book? Put the finishing touches on your science project? Let the reward match the achievement. Whatever the case, it always helps to have something to look forward to!
4. Practice mindfulness by powering-down
The masses have long praised the idea of multitasking. Yet, we live in a time when this approach to productivity is being questioned. In fact, more recent research points to multitasking’s leading to negative effects, including increased stress and decreased cognitive functioning.
What’s recommended instead of multitasking is that you give your full attention to one task at a time. In other words, what’s recommended is that you practice mindfulness while at work.
In this article, Matt Tenney, author of The Mindfulness Edge, explains four ways that mindfulness improves productivity—including eliminating distractions and producing stronger work—by supporting his claims with evidence from an array of university studies.
One way to practice mindfulness while studying is to “unplug” by taking a break from technology. Reducing internet distractions—such as texting, social media, and even Google—can have real gains on your productivity.

5. Say goodbye to baggage
We are often reminded of the importance of extracurricular activities, especially when it comes to college admissions. Since this is the case, we tend to become involved in many extracurriculars, or we become so deeply invested in the few extracurriculars we’ve chosen that it seems they’ve taken precedence over our school work—and have even taken over our lives!
The important thing to remember is that extracurriculars are beneficial. But, they are only beneficial if they are enhancing and not draining your life.
So, do an inventory. If any of your extracurricular activities seem to be more of a drain on your time and energy than an enhancement to your current happiness and potential future success, drop them from your schedule. Place this saved time and energy into the activities you are benefiting from, and you will likely see an improvement in these areas.
6. Upgrade your study hour
Another way to improve your school-life balance is to simply find a way to enjoy the school part of the equation more. This may seem like wishful thinking; but, if you can think of your studies less as work and more as play, then you are sure to approach this time with more balance.
So, what helps you get through hours of reading or studying for exams? Listening to your favorite music? Having your favorite latte by your side? Working with a big group of your best friends? Taking your work outside to the park or to the beach? Whatever the case may be, do yourself a favor by making study hour more enjoyable for yourself. This way, you will be less hardwired to dread your time spent hitting the books.
And if a place like the park or beach isn’t easily accessible to you, check out our previous article on Creating a Great Study Space.

7. Lean on your support system
When in doubt, don’t be afraid to ask for help—from friends, family, and teachers/other mentors. It can be helpful just to have friends and family who simply understand what you’re going through with the heavy workload of school. A shoulder to lean on and an ear to confide in can go a long way toward relieving stress. And a best buddy or an understanding parent can also be key to getting you out of the house (and out of your head!) after a particularly long and grueling study session.
Teachers/mentors, on the other hand, can provide more “practical” solutions for helping to alleviate the worry from school work. Whether by suggesting additional reading, offering personally-tailored study tips, or pointing you in the direction of helpful tutors like those at Elite, these trusted adults can be a great resource in your search for a better school-life balance.
8. Practice self-care by forgetting “perfection”
As modern students with such big workloads, it can become easy to neglect our own self-care. However, whatever this phrase (“self-care”) means to you—be it physical, mental, or emotional preservation—it’s important to maintain the practice even (and especially!) when a school-life balance seems the most difficult to achieve.
Forms of self-care are as numbered and unique as the people on Earth. You know what works best for you. But one thing is universal: To practice better self-care, try letting go of your belief in “perfection.”
In a time when social media has us constantly comparing ourselves to others, and life goals such as college admissions are increasingly competitive, it makes sense to dot every “i” and cross every t”—just maybe not 9 times.
Reaching for what you deem as “perfection” isn’t always beneficial. This is because reaching “perfection” isn’t always possible. Shoot for your best instead, and you are likely to feel more satisfied and balanced in the end.

Random story I’m going to try to write
I call it: No Capes Outlaws as Actual High School Teahers AU (with a side of Jayroy).
Roy
Roy is the AP/Honors (depending on where you’re from in the country) engeninering, mechanics and physics (1&2) teacher. His scedule every day would go: Prep Hour, Physics 1, Physics 2, PreAP/Introduction to Physics, Mechanics (first block), Mechanics (second block), Lunch, Enenering.
He is the supervisor of the science club on Mondays and Fridays, and engerninering work shop on Tuesday.
The reason he requested his Prep Hour to be in the morning is that he needs to make sure Lian gets to her daycare all right and on time.
Students love him because he is goofy and makes them smile during classes, but also very obviously cares about them. He is open about his past with substance abuse and his recovery story, as well as growing up on a reservation until he was a teenager. He gets them and how hard it is growing up in our modern world, and that means so much to them.
Kori
A warm hearted but fierce woman who came from a foreign country to teach her country’s language, culture and history to young American high school students.
She’s not familiar with lingo and many American customs, and immensely enjoys getting to learn from her students as they learn from her.
Stands strong in fighting for what you believe in and for seeing the goodness in people around you. That doesn’t mean stand by as people treat you unfairly and only reapond with kindness, it means to know how to love and respect yourself first and know how to pick your battles.
Sometimes manages to convince the principal to let her bring in her exotic pet from her home country to spend time with the class.
Acting counselor for any and all foreign exchange students.
She takes her Prep Hour during fourth period.
Artemis
The cool Egyptian PE teacher who everyone honestly love.
The students are very shocked when they realize that their awesome Coach is distantly related to Coach Diana from middle school. It gives them whiplash at first, but then they look closer and immediately start to see the similarities.
Unknowingly (but also slightly knowingly) became these young high school girls’ idea of what a strong woman looks like not only physically but mentally. She loves giving the girls advice and counciling and pretending she doesn’t notice just how much they love her.
You name the sport, she coaches or co-coaches it.
Instead of taking a Prep Hour, she fills in for a class period upstairs in the sports med class.
Bizzaro
A teacher’s aid who is on the autism spectrum.
Usually jumps between Artemis and Jason’s classes, but sometimes he likes to just hangout alone in the PAC alone to get some of his studies done (and secretly watch the dance classes when they practice on stage, he just finds them really pretty).
He looks intimidating at first sight, but the students are very quick to warm up to him.
Carries Pup Pup with him at all times. Sometimes Jason or Roy will spray it with their cologne or Kory or Artemis with their perfume. They know how happy the familiar smells make him, and any time they notice the most resent spray has worn off, the one who notices will spray it again (which means Pup Pup usually smells like Jason, but Biz doesn’t mind).
He graduated high school at a very young age due to his intellect. On his last day of school, while his much older peers were on their last day of first semester, he went to Jason. All he had to say was that he was scared to go home. Jason very quickly had CPS on Lex, and gained legal custody of Biz by the end of winter break.
Jason (I save the most fleshed out for last)
Did a double major and a minor while in university (his family still don’t know how he did it), majoring in English Literature and Psychology with a minor in theater. He acted as a “long term sub” (a title the had to legally give him for the time being) as an AP/Honors Lit teacher at the school while he finished up with his teaching degree.
After two years of teaching AP Lit and AP English, he decided it was to mentally taxing on him to see how miserable his students were and decided to leave those classes in better hands. He now teaches Creative Writing 1&2 and all of the drama classes. His daily schedule is: Creative Writing 1&2 (they have to share a class period to have enough students to make the bar for minimum class population) Drama 1, Drama 2, Stage Craft, Lunch, Prep Hour, Screen play/script writing, improv.
He had his Prep Hour during the second lunch block so that students from both lunches have access to his classroom. They can get tutoring help, emotional support, or just a safe and quiet place to eat their lunch in.
Basically runs the entire theater department alone. He manages to pick the plays/musicals every year, get the script orders in place, order the costumes and props, get the supplies for making the backdrops and still somehow has enough money from the school budget left over to throw the cast good parties. The students call it budgeting magic.
Over his years of teaching, he’s been gradually collecting more and more literature and psychology degrees from online universities (his schooling is all he spends his trust fund on. His father finds it baffling that he would rather collect degrees he may never use instead of getting a home better than his crappy apartment he lives in off his paychecks from the school or an actual car)
All of the students who have never had him as a teacher think he’s cool because he rides a motorcycle and wears leather jackets. His drama and writing students know better. They know he’s a total dork.
The teacher the kids know they can go to with home life issues. Through the grapevine, the student know he was abused early in his childhood and was homeless for a while before being taken in by Bruce Wayne. They know they can trust him with anything, because he understands better that anyone what it’s like to be in their place.
The Students!
The generation outlaws, Vessel, Sasha, Tim and his Young Justice team, Damian, Jon, Rachel, Gar, a few other assorted kids.
They all realized Mr. Harper and Mr. Todd had a crush on each other before they did.
They ship it, a lot, and try a lot of crazy schemes to get them together that always fail. The schemes only get more elaborate as they go.
“Can Coach Artemis adopt me?”
“Hey Mr. Harper, adopt me?”
“Ms. Anders can I adopt you as a mom?”
“How long do you think it will take Mr. Todd to adopt him?” “Dude, Damian is his brother.” “That doesn’t change a thing.”
They trust their teachers with their lives and would protect their teachers with their lives.
That’s all I got for now, I might add more later.

Overworked [TL;DR]
[TL;DR Version]: Finally worked up the courage to tell my supervisor that my workload was too much. We’ll see if anything can be worked out. I’m all-or-nothing at this point.
[Full Version - it’s very very very long]
I’m at a school that’s only been around for going on two years now, and most teachers teach 1 to 3 courses distributed through 12 to 14 classes per week.
And then there’s MY schedule...
I teach 8 courese; 18 classes a week. - Grade 7 Reading Essentials: For kids who can’t read at all, as in this is class were we learn how to sound out words, break down compound words, recognize prefixes and suffixes, and course read material designed for American 8~9 year olds. I’m not mentioning this to be facetious but to be informative. The school originally wanted me to teacher them AP Literature. Yeah. A bunch of 12year-old non-native English speaking, never-been-immersed-in-WesternEuropean-culture 12 year olds suddenly analyzing the structure and language of Maupassant’s The Necklace. Anyway.
- Grade 9 Intro to Literature: I’ll explain why there’s no Grade 8 here later. If you’re up for a long ass read, of course) Intro to Literature (This is of course, after they’ve learned how to do basic comprehension. This course works on recognizing figures of speech and rhetorical devices, plus it looks at easy-to-read works - yes they exist... it took some digging, but indeed they exist - placed against historical, cultural and thematic backgrounds
- Grade 8+9 IGCSE English Language A: I asked my British friends about this and they all agree that Grade 8+9 (age 13~14) is way too young to be signing up for Pearson Edexcel IGCSE especially with them speaking a language that has very little if any similarity to English, unless the students have lived extensively in a Western country, which these students have not.
- Grade 10 ALevel Literature: I only have this class once a week yet am expected to prepare them for ALevel Lit. This once-a-week class versus their more prominent ALevel Chemistry and Physics. *sigh*
- Grade 10 PreAP Literature and Composition: Only because this is my first year teaching and these student’s have no background with literature. It’s basically a faster moving Grade 9 course, but it focuses on FRQ section of the exam wherein you have to have read an actual novel. Novels in this class are actually just short stories in which I have to make vocabulary lists of because the students won’t make it through a page unless they translate every other word.
- Grade 11 AP Literature and Composition: I actually managed to talk the students OUT of signing up for this exam unless they’ve really enjoy reading and can think and question things as they read. Their TOEFL Reading classes do a great job of teaching them reading comprehension. Unfortunately, AP Lit does not test your ability to search for answers directly within text, so that’s where this class comes in. The learning curve been Grade 10 and 11 here is such that the stories and poems we look at in Grade 10 are too easy for Grade 11 and the Grade 11 works are often too difficult for Grade 10. There is very little, if any, overlap.
- Grade 11 AP Psychology: One 3 hour course every Monday afternoon. It’s a nightmare especially considering how the worksheets assigned throughout the week to help them review things more often then not don’t get done. The extra materials, video links, online notes, cheat sheets, etc go ignored because apparently the stuff only makes sense when I’m standing in front of them modelling everything for them. The school expects all the students to take the exam and for me to analyze their scores once CollegeBoard releases them.
- Drama: We meet once a week, assuming students haven’t been pulled out to do tutoring sessions for Calculus. The school expects a drama performance at the end of the term.
It was becoming more and more difficult to manage these classes until I finally realized I was burning out. (I’m terrible at recognizing burnout.) The moment I would shift my attention to one course, the performance of another course would suffer. Students from whatever class would complain that they aren’t “doing enough” or that they haven’t gotten their homework or exams back yet. (There’s still a large pile of ungraded papers on my desk as we speak... I could be grading them, but yeah. That.)
Now.
Originally, this list was all just “AP Literature, plus IGCSE, Psychology and Drama” with addition to U.S. and World History. After some arguing, I managed to get the history courese removed from my schedule as well as Grade 8 “Literature” (the classes that I didn’t want ended up begin given to the teacher the school was planning of firing BECAUSE the principal - who knows me from a previous school - found out I would be teaching there).
I did try teaching every Literature class the exact same way to save time, printing, planning, etc. I knew it would be challenging, but it was either they double up and put forth the effort to master difficult material, or I split myself into multiple parts and water Western Lit down into something approachable and digestible. They all started out with recognizing the basic forms of Literature: peotry, prose and drama. Yes, I made a worksheet to let them practice identifying which description fit which type of literature, just to make sure they were following me because you can never know when the students are dead silent before, during and after classes.
Then we moved on to Robert Frost and Emily Dickinson - easy reads with a couple vocabularly cheat sheets and translation references. Then the struggling happened and as predicted, the lower the grade, the more the struggle. I decided then to re-up the entire “Literature” course and instead create a course that was appropriate for the students’ level.
I will say the one good thing that comes out of the being the only teacher who has to see EVERY. SINGLE. STUDENT through the span of a week is that as a significantly unique-looking FOREIGNER from a particularly diverse cultural background, generally socially aware, and is fluent in Chinese, it has become useful in whipping these kids in to shape in terms of their cultural awareness and mannerisms. If you’re a foreigner in China worried about local kids picking at you, making snarky remarks around you, flat out insulting you in Chinese or just being “weird” around you, you won’t have to worry about that at all with these kids. The principal knows that, I’m sure this was one of the reasons she brought me around. The school is one of those internationalized jawns where the students get offers from Western universities come their Grade11/Grade12 year. It helps to not end up overseas still making dumb comments about someone’s nose and then looking crazy when they call you out on it. Go figure.
The school is mad shy with admitting they have me teacher 8 courses. They won’t admit it right away because in their minds, I teach “Literature, Psychology, and Drama... 3 courses” but then they wonder how I manage to go through so many copies, and they pretend they don’t notice the eight stacks of exam papers that all have my name on them during midterms and finals. It’s contract renewal time, and I basically told the powers that be that they either need to pay extra, hire more staff to distribute these courses more sensibly or it’s boots for me. I’m losing hair and self-care time being the only one at this school who would need 3 or 4 people to replace me should I leave.

high school advice from a senior
1. grades matter
if your goal after high school is going to college or community college, then getting good grades matters. your freshmen year grades are going to be super important so please don't slack off. grades can help you get more money for scholarships, opportunities, etc.
2. don't be afraid to ask for help
at the beginning of high school, i was afraid to ask for help and sometimes i still am. but, you should never let yourself be confused during class, or else you won't succeed in that class. if you don't like your teacher, then try to see if your school offers free tutoring by upperclassmen. also, ask upperclassmen or friends that have taken the class before for help.
3. join extracurricular activity like a sport or a club
not only do clubs help you fill you after school time but they help you met new people in the process. by joining clubs, it will help you stay active in the community and help you when you are applying to colleges. ALSO, join a club that interests you not because someone forced you to do it because you will enjoy it if you want to be there.
4. be yourself
in high school, you will lose a lot of friends during your transition to middle school to high school. please don't change yourself for anybody and make sure to stand your ground. people will try to be fake and do things just because it is popular but in the end, it will cause more harm than good. please don't do anything stupid that could be used against in the future._
5. YOUR MENTAL HEALTH is more important than your grades
please, please, please listen to me when i say this. i have worked hard during my past for years of high school. there have been a couple of times where i pushed myself to the max and didn't allow myself to have any time for myself. i got really anxious and my mental health was not good for a year so please don't try to push yourself too harder because of school you need a good balance.
6. balance is key
for you to be successful in high school, you need to find a way to balance homework, an after school activity and your social life. life can run its course and turn haywire if you decide to procrastinate and wait till the last minute. try to start to plan out your day when you are at school by using a planner or using google calendar available online.
7. enjoy every moment as if it is your last
i can tell you what the first day of high school felt like and the feeling of excitement in my stomach. i remember thinking i can't wait till i graduate when i was a freshman and now i am a senior. i can't believe everything went so fast so please enjoy the moments you have. have a dance party with your friends! tell your crush you like them. go to prom. go to a party and be responsible. go to a football game. just enjoy every moment you have because you don't know when it will end.
