tfone au where OP is created as the last of the primes but way after them, a sparkling born at what were thought to be the last days of the war against the quintessons, the beginning of a new generation of peace after eons of war. a child meant to be loved and raised knowing nothing of war nor sacrifice.

he's kept mostly out of the spotlight by his siblings, who don't wish to expose him to everyone's optics so young, and want to wait until the war is done and over to properly introduce him to their people.

except of course the primes are betrayed and murdered by sentinel, the war is lost and everyone who knows and cared for the truth is either banished or outright killed in order to suppress it.

and the high guard, the ones the primes trusted the most, the ones that were supposed to protect them, the ones who failed in their most important duty, have to make a choice. to take the last prime, their last hope, with them to the surface, a hostile environment where there's little to no supplies and where they'll be hunted down by both sentinel and the quintessons as the biggest threat to their regimen.

or hide him in plain sight. place him where sentinel won't think to look for him. one more sparkling among many. and hope it will be enough to keep him alive. pray to primus that he'll protect his last child long enough for them to come back for him when it's safer (even if most of them have already lost their faith on him when he allowed the rest of his children to be massacred like that)

they almost lose their resolve when they realize they will have to take the little one's cog away in order to make him blend in with the rest of the newborns (and oh do they burn with murderous intent when they see what sentinel has done to their people but it's not the time yet-) but in the end they decide an impaired little prime is better than a dead one.

and so in the chaos of thirteen dead primes and a sudden energon crisis, a little sparkling who very few mechs really knew about and even fewer had seen completely vanishes. and in the depths of iacon a mech in charge of a new batch of newborns scratches their helm in confusion as they realize they must have miscounted the first time.

optimus prime is quietly erased from any official records by sentinel, written off as dead when they find a sparkling's frame mangled beyond recognition after an attack on the base of those rebels that insist on being a thorn on his side. killing the sparkling hadn't been precisely in his plans, he probably could've found some use for it after all, but he's not particularly upset about it either.

and orion pax grows up with an ache on his spark that tells him he's missing something far more important than a t-cog and dreams of gentle and loving hands, cradling him against the frames of mechs he cannot recall the faces of.

So I was thinking about this line.

At first, I was like, 'heartless'? How does Shadow know that? I'll grant 'aggressive,' and even 'voraciously carnivorous' - these are true and can be easily observed without moral judgment. That's just animal behavior; 'heartless' is a comment you make on a personality. It implies the behavior is not driven by instinct... but cruelty. And this alien doesn't speak, so...

But then I remembered that he literally shares a hivemind with this thing.

So, my headcanon now is that he was standing there staring (and silently freaking out) because this little jerk was just spamming their involuntary group chat with heinous monster thoughts.

It's probably seeing Shadow standing there next to Abe, and it's vaguely but persistently like:

HEY.

HEY.

YOU SHOULD TOTALLY EAT THAT KID.

LMAO.

HE'S LIKE RIGHT THERE.

I WANNA EAT HIM SO BAD.

YOU GOTTA DO IT MAN.

DO IT WHILE HE'S STILL ALIVE.

IT WOULD BE SO FUNNY.

And then projecting confusion and frustration when Shadow...doesn't. I just think that the vibes of that would be pretty rancid.

Since y’all seem to yearn for dandy’s world (my RageBait post is still being eaten up) here’s a handful of headcanons for it. Specifically for a friend group headcanon!

(The big ol info dump will be after the page break)

And onto the headcanons,

Shrimpo, Shelly, Finn, and Looey friend group!

Specifically post show canceling and museum shut down.

Finn is the one that started the friend group, having already been friendly with all of them.

Him and Looey get along over their silly jokes, and because Finn likes clowns. Shelly’s dinosaur facts include old extinct fish, so mutual interest!

As for Shrimpo, Finn is one of the only toons who has made serious attempts at befriending him. Not being deterred by Shrimpo being a jerk and having a bad attitude, and seeing him really as a friend rather than someone that’s a ‘challenge’ to befriend. With that support and genuine kindness from Finn (and no longer being forced into his one role of hatred by their creator), he starts to feel and understand emotions other than hatred. Not getting less mean exactly, but being able to do more than be mean and feel hatred.

When Finn sees Shrimpo start to warm up slightly, or at least warm by Shrimpo standards, he started inviting Looey and Shelly to spend time with them. And for obvious reasons, both were hesitant, but Shelly was a lot more open to trying to befriend Shrimpo. It was slower with them than Finn, but with a little effort they both managed to end up on good terms with Shrimpo. (Again, good terms for Shrimpo, which tends to mean tolerating their company)

Specific dynamics!

Finn + Shrimpo

The two that are probably closest. Finn hangs around Shrimpo whenever he gets the chance, and isn’t bothered by the rude comments and typical anger. At first the ignoring of his meanness pissed Shrimpo off, but over time it made him feel a bit less angry when around Finn. No quieter or calmer, though!

Finn + Shelly

Mostly a bond over mutual interests. It started as just getting together and sharing Fish and Dinosaur facts, but Shelly started inviting him to do more things with her, since it was hard for her to get anyone else to. She’s attempted to reach Finn how to sew, and he’s taught her how to fish. (As much as you can find in garden view)

Finn + Looey

A clown and a guy who loves puns feels like an easy friendship. Finn is very sweet, optimistic, and honest, which can help a lot with Looey’s insecurity. They come up with jokes together, and Finn has tried to get into some of Looey’s shows. But he’s not really acrobatic enough to do a lot in a circus act.

Shelly + Looey

Their friendship actually started from Shelly asking Looey to teach her juggling, which she did unsurprisingly bad at. The two bonded from the lessons and being able to confide in each her about similar struggles. Plus, Looey being a little dumb sometimes and Shelly being super smart leads to fun moments with them.

Looey + Shrimpo

Probably the least close in the group, but they’re still friends. It’s hard for Looey to get over the death threats and actual murder attempts from Shrimpo. But, when Shrimpo isn’t as aggressive, the two get along pretty well and like to complain about things together.

Shelly + Shrimpo

Surprisingly very close! Both of them have dealt with being disliked (or at least feeling disliked) and ignored by the other toons. When Shelly eventually confided that in him, Shrimpo decided to teach her how to fight and stand up for herself. He also tries to act as if he’s not interested in her facts, as he does with Finn, but he does remember them!

That’s all!! Sorry that’s an absolutely massive amount of text, I don’t wanna make it any longer, so more headcanons will come another time.

okay I'm gonna say it: I think some folks on here are really, really weird about aesthetics. like, yes, it is totally possible for an aesthetic to have baggage. I can't think of one that doesn't. but at the end of the day it's just an aesthetic. it's a vibe. it's a set of images and motifs that a subset of people enjoy. it's not a moral statement. it's frankly rude to assume that no one who enjoys, like, dark academia or something has thought about the assumptions and worldview that led to the development of that aesthetic. like do you think you're uniquely wise and analytical to discern that images come from somewhere and have associations beyond the literal? I guarantee most of the rest of the world also has this capacity

now this doesn't mean that you can't just dislike the damn thing. I get it, cottagecore is too twee or steampunk looks too imperial, whatever. but don't look at someone's aesthetic and go, like, "ah they like edwardian clothes, they must be an imperial apologist." like sure it's possible. but what a fucking assumption to make about someone!

Been thinking recently about a universe where Jordan did just join Team Dianite. Like it would be genuinely really interesting to see Jordan in a situation where he has other followers to fall back on and be with.

But also I keep thinking about a while after they've all settled into the new normal of Team Dianite just having a new member, Mianite appears and basically dumps a battered and annoyed Capsize on Tucker and Sonja. She's standoffish and refuses to join either team because she "already has a goddess" though she doesn't call herself champion.

But basically Capsize trying to figure out which of the four idiots (affectionate) she's with was meant to be Ianite's champion, while also trying to free Ianite herself since, as far as she knows, she's the last person who can do it.
