Checked a bunch of houseplant books out of the library to see if they could help me with my poor long-suffering calathea and I *really* enjoy "The New Plant Parent" by Darryl Cheng. Does a better job than any other source I've encountered at explaining what plant-care instructions actually *mean*, and the focus on learning how plants behave in your specific environment instead of idealized best practices is really refreshing. If you're new to houseplants or have found other books frustrating, see if your library has a copy!

I strongly believe that a lot of (not all) systems think they have such insanely high alter counts because of how fast some will assume that not knowing who you are, thoughts feeling unfamiliar, or feeling like a fictional character means you've split. This happens so much in system Discord servers especially. You don't know who you are? Time to go to the new-alter-help channel and let 4 people play Akinator with you. It's normal not to know who you are when you have DID, just cause the current logged alters don't feel right at the moment doesn't mean it's a new alter. That's just how shit is sometimes.

If this doesn't apply to you or someone you know then I'm not talking about you/them. This is jsut something I've observed a lot in different groups.

I think the biggest and arguably most harmful artfight misconception is that you need elaborate full on refs of your ocs there like NO!!!! You don't need to pull on a animation production grade turnaround for this shit!! Literally all you need is a comprehensible drawing of your oc, hell, I've seen profiles there that don't even have full body art.

Does a proper ref help? Yes, but people won't avoid your character like the plague if you don't have it (and if you do have refs up you don't need to remake them every year!). Artfighters just need to know how your character looks like and for that the random art you already have of your oc should do just fine.

This is just a silly internet event, y'all don't need to take it so seriously.
