HA the one with the least amount of votes was the lie. I do not own a physical copy of every studio Queen album (I don’t actually own ANY studio Queen albums. I do have Greatest Hits I, II, & III on CD tho!)
Due to various factors regarding the AIDS Quilt Panel I made for Joe, his partner-at-the-time Donald Mackenzie saw the project and followed me on Insta. At some point while over at Garden Lodge, he took photos of all the cats and had them sent off to be turned into the vest Freddie wore in the Days of Our Lives vid! So that’s pretty cool. We have him to thank for that
and yes, in 2023 I got tickets in March to a concert in October. Not even the farthest in advance I’ve ever gotten concert tickets either
Queen-related two truths and a lie about the blog owner :)
This poll is up for three days and then I’ll come say the right answer. Also I’ve never seen anybody else do this but it would be kinda fun so feel free to copy if you’re that way inclined :)
#Got Green Day tix in November of 2023 to a concert in August of 2024 💀#right now I’m holding Hozier tickets to a show in June#anyway thought it was funny the lie ended up losing#queen#queen band#freddie mercury#two truths and a lie#queen + adam lambert

I went to a Queen concert last Sunday!
First concert ever. Found a friend in my class who agreed to come with me and I grabbed those tickets right up because this show is actually the last Queen concert of the year.
It was super fun. I sang along to every songs and time went by so freaking fast, 150 minutes felt like 5 minutes. There are songs I wish they had also played but all the big hits they are known for were performed. Adam Lambert was better than I expected as the front man.
And Yes, I bought an overpriced tshirt.
(this is a face reveal, as well lol)

I won’t spoil aspects of the concert for people who like to avoid those details but I saw Queen + Adam Lambert on Sunday night and gosh, it was really good. of course it would be, but part of me wasn’t feeling as excited for it as I had been when I saw them back in 2019, so I was a bit nervous it would let me down but no, it was lovely, it was touching, there’s still something so amazing about being in a room with that many people, singing and clapping in unison so songs that mean so many different things to all of us.
I cried during the final song, just a rush of all of sorts of emotions. maybe I’ll be lucky enough to see them again. probably not, but even though I didn’t become a Queen fan until the BoRhap era, that band and their songs have done so much for me it’s too much to put into words here. so, seeing them twice is beyond what I ever expected.
when I saw them back in 2019, that was probably the best week of my life because I had 3 really amazing things happen right in a row, the concert being one of them. now in 2023, this period could not be further from the best anything in my life, this was pretty much all I had to look forward to since I bought my ticket back in March. so there is that sadness that I saw it, it’s over (what do I have left to look forward to next) but also the happiness of, I saw them, I was there.
#i’ll admit i did have a real john deacon moment of#okay brian let’s wrap this bit up lol but just once#queen#rhapsody tour

The Afterparty
Author's Note: The basic idea is that instead of thinking about going to the dance, MC decides to plan this event instead. I like associating songs with different characters and thought it would be fun to imagine a concert where those songs would be performed/covered.
MIDNIGHT CONCERT AT THE FALL
DOORS OPEN AT ELEVEN
FEATURING THE EXILES
۞۞۞
SETLIST
Hellraiser by Ozzy Osbourne
You Give Love a Bad Name by Bon Jovi (Blue)
Bloody Mary by Lady Gaga (Purple)
For Your Entertainment by Adam Lambert (Light Blue)
VOID by Melanie Martinez (Orange)
Alone by Heart (Green)
INTERMISSION
For Whom The Bell Tolls by Metallica (Teal)
Money Make Her Smile by Bruno Mars (Yellow)
Feed My Frankenstein by Alice Cooper (Red)
She by Harry Styles (White)
bad idea, right? by Olivia Rodrigo (Pink)
ENCORE: Do Not Disturb by Halestorm (Black)
۞۞۞
FUN FACTS
MC always wanted to release their inner rock star but never felt confident enough to do so.
Diavolo was the one to suggest the concert as MC was sharing songs from the human world with him.
Each song on the setlist is attached to a color, and each color is associated with a person.
The songs (excluding the encore) get introduced by a color wheel.
Except for the opening song, MC wears something matching the color of the song they're performing.
MC sings and plays guitar and the piano.
۞۞۞
SONG DETAILS
Hellraiser is linked to MC.
Lyric: I keep saying that it's getting too much/But I know I'm a liar
Lucifer is Blue.
Lyric: You paint your smile on your lips/Blood red nails on your finger tips/A schoolboy's dream, you act so shy/Your very first kiss was your first kiss goodbye.
He is in attendance. One, he wants to keep an eye on Mammon and Asmo. Two, Barbatos had a extra ticket and invited him to tag along.
Part of him feels embarrassed to hear MC call him out like that, but mostly seeming them perform arouses him.
Belphie is Purple.
I mean, have you seen his battle sprite? The boy is a trained dancer.
The song is heavily choreographed.
The choreography is influenced by ballet.
He is not in attendance. He went straight back to the House after the dance to sleep.
He watches a video of the performance the next morning and is impressed by the artistry of the performance.
Simeon is Light Blue.
Lyric: Oh, I bet you thought that I was soft and sweet/You thought an angel swept you off your feet/Well, I'm about to turn up the heat
MC remembers how he behaved at the traveling carnival and decided to channel that energy into their performance.
He is in attendance. Solomon dragged him to the Fall after they settled Luke down in his bed.
He is BLUSHING.
Most people would think that he's horrified by the provocative lyrics, but no.
The song might as well be one of his diary entries describing how he feels about MC, so hearing them sing what's been on his mind...
Levi is Orange.
MC is attached to a wheel of death that magically spins and deteriorates as the song progresses.
The song describes someone who judges themselves harshly and has major anxiety.
If that isn't Levi to a tee, I don't know what is.
He is not in attendance. The dance drained his social battery, and he needs to be alone for a while.
However, he watches a livestream of the event on his phone, so he's witnessing the performance in real time.
By the end, Levi can barely see the screen due to the tears in his eyes.
Satan is Green.
Satan + pianos = match made in heaven
Plus, it's a rock ballad.
He is not in attendance for the same reason as Levi. He finds The Fall too loud for his liking.
He watches the performance the next evening after he's done studying.
He thinks the performance is beautiful.
Barbatos is Teal.
It's canon that he likes metal music.
I'm in the group of people that believe that he would enjoy Metallica.
You know the riffs played on the bass guitar? Well, imagine that they're played on a violin. Now, imagine that the person playing the violin is none other than Diavolo himself.
The reason for the intermission is so that he can disguise himself so that people don't suspect that he's on stage with MC.
As mentioned earlier, Barbatos is in attendance. He's the only person outside the band that knows about Diavolo's musical feature (which is basically how he got tickets to the show).
He appears stoic on the inside, but he's simply enjoying the music in his own quiet way.
Now, slight detour but still relevant to the song: I've seen a couple of posts that state that Lucifer has listened to Metallica. One of them presents the idea that he listened to the band a lot during his rebel angel days before he fell but that he only listens to them occasionally as a demon.
Needless to say, as soon as the music kicks in, Lucifer is literally this emoji: 😳
Mammon is Yellow.
It's literally in the title. What more could you ask for?
MC plays the role of an announcer, introducing a "new girl in town".
Who plays Mammon? A female doppelganger.
As mentioned earlier, he is in attendance.
He is BLUSHING (Part Two).
He has no idea what he's going to do the next time he sees MC. Will he faint? Will he compliment their performance? Will he pounce on them like an animal? The world may never know.
Beel is Red.
Food metaphors for sex? Literally Beel.
The second song that could be a diary entry.
He is not in attendance, for he doesn't particularly like the food they serve at The Fall.
He is instead eating at Hell's Kitchen when one of his classmates rushes up to him and has him watch a livestream of MC's performance.
Let's just say that he starts craving something else the longer he watches the performance.
Solomon is White.
I mean, he is the whitest boy in all of the three realms (lol).
In all seriousness, I know that in the original game, white was Luke's color and Solomon was a rainbow (like MC), but considering that everyone else has their own color and that MC wasn't performing a song about Luke...
Some background information: Harry Styles has admitted that he and his bandmates were on shrooms when they recorded this song and that the guitarist that plays the solo at the end (Mitch) didn't remember playing it (because he was that high) and had to learn it before they went on tour so that he wouldn't mess it up.
Needless to say, the song's trippy, and I think Solomon has a trippy vibe to him, so hence the song choice.
As stated earlier, he is in attendance.
He appreciates the work that went into the performance (which features some trippy set pieces).
Asmo is Pink.
Third song that could be a diary entry.
We all know Asmo's a slut, and we love him for it.
I also think he's a major pop rock girlie, and he would definitely be a big fan of Olivia Rodrigo (especially after GUTS).
He'd definitely be singing along and having a blast.
Not just during this song, but the entire concert. He LOVES seeing this side of MC.
Diavolo is Black.
*cough* Even if the devs can't settle on one shade *cough*
ANYWAY.
Out of all the songs, this is the one MC is most nervous to perform.
You see, they don't want to get in trouble for putting Diavolo on blast, and they almost don't perform the song at all.
However, after hearing the crowd begging for an encore, MC puts their fears aside and decides to just go for it (and worry about the consequences later).
MC has had a base costume that they've accessorized with different colored items throughout the evening. Underneath this base is a black lingerie set that they bought during a shopping trip with Asmo. This set gets revealed during a pause in the song where the lights go out briefly and come back on.
To make a long story short, MC is definitely getting railed after the concert.
Oh, and the "girlfriend" mentioned in the song? Lucifer.
#obey me shall we date#obey me mc#obey me lucifer#obey me levi#obey me leviathan#obey me satan#obey me mammon#obey me brothers#obey me asmo#obey me asmodeus#obey me beel#obey me beelzebub#obey me belphegor#obey me barbatos#obey me belphie#obey me solomon#obey me simeon#obey me side characters#obey me diavolo#obey me lord diavolo

Agree and no notes but sad for you that few acts come near you, especially because I’m lucky to live in a big city that gets most tours (tickets can be hard to get still but we get the concerts) and when I was younger I was getting to go to a heap of concerts because I really love music and love a lot of genres and stuff. The first time I saw bon jovi was amazing but they’d already been around for maybe 25-30 years? They’ve had an incredible career because they evolved and kept picking up new fans (I thought it’s my life was their first song for the longest time lmao), and some other legacy acts stopped releasing music ages ago, some take forever between releases, some put stuff out that doesn’t chart well in the overall charts but they can sell stadiums or arenas like Kiss, U2, def leppard, guns n roses, Neil diamond, queen with Adam lambert, foo fighters, pearl jam, meatloaf (rip) but I got to see them all and there were only a few songs I didn’t know throughout the shows but there were a LOT of people there just to get their hits and meatloaf was a mess tbh, but the rest were great touring acts because they know even with a new album out, most of the audience is there for their LEGACY status and to experience seeing one of the biggest acts in history. I only went to kiss for the experience tbh and it was cool but i wasn’t as into the music to really appreciate it, but happy I went.
It’s a balancing act too that I think big fans and the artists both walk together in a way, lady A had this problem 4 albums in lol - what to put on the set list and play the new stuff but include the hits casual fans want to hear? Because I’ve seen some legacy acts who only played 2 songs off their new album and I was PISSED! It was basically the same set list as their last tour and most of those songs are available on a live dvd, so it felt like a waste - BUT they had like 30 top 5 hits, so they already couldn’t play all the hits or the fan fav b sides or the new songs. And I get it because I also went to one legacy acts show where he played mostly new stuff but the album had only just come out a week or two earlier, it was super new and wasn’t on streaming services, he played like 6 hits but they were at the end and people were kind of bored and over it by the time he got to them. P!nk does her set lists really well to play a lot of hits but still some of the new album, Robbie Williams didn’t think anyone wanted to hear his new stuff so he only played the 2 singles and it was a phenomenal show so I was ok with it this time lol but I really loved the last album so would’ve loved to hear more. And they’ve been around 25-30 years now, so they’re in legacy status but still releasing good new material! But this is where it’s good for artists to embrace technology and do a one off showcase of the new album and then add some hits so we at least get to watch a video of them playing them live.
I actually completely forgot about why I was writing this lmao I just really love talking about concerts and set list choices. I am also very curious what Taylor will do next and if the next tour will follow the format of other album tours, or if she’ll change how she tours completely (not off the cards, I can see her doing less stops unless she wants to break a certain record, or doing mini residences like Harry). She has SO MANY songs people want to hear, but hq versions of her playing them semi recently exist for most (even if acoustic), so I can see her doing a lot of mashups like the style/ love story/ ybwm from rep - we need to get at least a chorus and bridge or chorus and verse for them because they ARE a lot of peoples favs and so joyous live, and she has so many hits and fan favs, and will have another 20 new songs probably and there’ll be locals because she’s a legacy act (i use that term for any legend really, some rest on their legacy, some keep putting out new stuff, but it’s an experience to see them live even if you only know their greatest hits you know you’ll have fun), but she also has so many swifties who will want to hear everything new and hits… she’s in such an interesting position because even with eras, folkmore, midnights and TTPD had longer sets and she keeps getting bigger. Other people I’ve mentioned have had renaissances and won new fans, but not consistently with each album! Even Michael Jackson stalled and people weren’t as big on the newer tracks at the height of his career? Idk I’m writing way too much cause I’ve had a fuck tonne of caffeine and sugar to wake up and this is my special interest but I’d actually love to know what other people think Taylor will do or want her to do for her next concert because it’s gonna be hard to balance out the set list imo unless she only does 3+ hour long shows now (which tbh isn’t new and most of the legacy acts mentioned did them too lol but not with as much spectacle and theyre bands in jeans and pyro lol)
yea! Arguably the best show I ever went to was Elton. It was like fucking 5 hours long lol or something and he played EVERYTHING. He played new stuff and he played all the big hits and he played oldies people love but maybe got/get less airtime and he played instrumentals but it was legit just him and the piano so 🤷🏻♀️ He didn’t need anything else. He talked a little bit but it was mostly him just playing. When he “rested” he played instrumentals. It was SO GOOD and really spoke to how amazing a musician and entertainer he actually is.
A few acts I went to see - very much past their prime lol - spent a LOT of time TALKING. I think it’s in part an energy thing because if you’re like 55+ doing a 2 hour show even that’s high energy is hard. So they spent a long time like talking about their careers and making (scripted) jokes with each other and like talking about how they came up with the songs.
A few leaned on their new stuff and it was a touch disappointing. A fair few left their biggest hits for encores actually - Lionel Richie left Dancing on the Ceiling for the encore and people were legit yelling just the song name and he came back out and said like “so there’s one more you want right?” Smokie also left Living Next Door to Alice for the last song - not the encore but it almost felt like they were waiting for people to ask for it and then got everyone hyped with it before coming back out for the encore.
I do get it and I think it’s very hard to strike a balance between the songs people know and the songs they are excited to play and obviously not everyone can do 5 hour shows (or even 3 hours+ like Taylor) because just… energy and stuff ykwim as I say like there’s only so much you can do at 55 and if you’re doing a few shows in a row (which most people who come here do because as I say they sell out CRAZY quick since we only get like 3-5 major international acts a year in the country and there IS money so people are willing right and ready AND if you’ve hauled ass to the bottom of Africa you’re generally not doing just one show here) like you’ve got to conserve energy and I get it. But it’s like… obviously hard to get that balance right.
You know what’s funny in hindsight? The 1975 came and I thought about going but it was in 2019 and they were headlining a festival and I decided I didn’t want to camp badly enough to watch them and now I’m a little disappointed with myself because I… like them a lot more now than I did then. I watched Panic! At The Disco - they came aaaaages ago when they actually WERE big that’s the one exception I guess - and that was cool.
But ya mostly we get the legacy acts (Robbie Williams came this year but I didn’t go because FG doesn’t like him and we decided to go to Sting rather, who was coming like the next week, but we wound up selling our tickets lmao because that’s when that whole thing with my mom went down, Green Day came recently I also didn’t go because I’m just not huge on them, idk). It’s still cool but ya they have to balance what people want to hear with stuff they’re releasing now, much of which is still great.
Oh! Idk how many of you guys remember/know Johnny Clegg but I saw him a LOT of times (like 6 or 7 lol) and even on his last tour, when he already had cancer, he danced every second song for the whole show (normal run time). It was fucking goosebump shit. He was playing to the home crowd so we all knew he’s dying and every time he started to dance people would go absolutely apeshit. The previous few times I’d seen him he actually did less dancing (understandable lol he was then old ykwim) but that last tour he fucking dug out every ounce of energy and gave a full performance like he was 30 again. It’s also the sort of thing where you’re like “damn this is why you’re a legend”.

Hello again! It's insane where Alice Cooper goes, thank god he doesn't only visit the capital cities like some other American artists do when coming to Europe 🙏🏻 I'm also surprised good seats at Roger Daltrey shows are cheaper than nosebleed tickets for Queen + Adam Lambert (which I had tickets for 5 years ago but sold them because I couldn't go) and I paid more for regional bands than for bigger glam bands 💀
I have a whole list of obscure bands which I'll give you after Christmas because some are too specific when you look at my main lol
By top 100 I meant the 2024 top songs from Wrapped! And I'm planning to write down all records, CDs and cassettes I listen to next year because my 12,179 minutes on Spotify are ruining my music lover reputation haha
Out of my top 5, I only expected the first artist and first two songs, I didn't know I listened to the others as much 😅 being among the 0.005% listeners of She's Tight by Cheap Trick is not my proudest moment so I'm skipping the Wrapped posting on other social media 💀
Speaking of vinyls and CDs, how many do you have? Do you mostly buy them new or second hand? In physical stores or online?
- 🎄
Hii ! Sorry for not replying for a moment !
Alice Cooper must love going everywhere cause he litterally is everywhere X)
Queen + Adam Lambert tickets were over 200€ for a decent placement 💀 nosebleed tickets is definitely the word !
All the prices for any concerts are fucked up it's like they're randomly choosing a price and are like "mmh sounds good"🗿
I'm manifesting and praying for Guns N' Roses tickets but no matter the price I think I'll still buy it😩
I'll gladly take the recommendations ahah !!
HEY ! I did wrote all the albums I've been listening to this year !! That's quite a lot I'll try to see how many hours it makes and I'll tell you XD
Well for the wrapped I wasn't really surprised of anything I've been listening on repeat the same 10 songs 🤣 wait that's my wrapped ;

I'm very surprised and a bit upset there's AC/DC tbh cause I was only listening to 5 of their songs and not even everyday when I was listening to Hanoi Rocks 7/7 and more than one album :/
What was yours ???
NOOOO no shame 😩 I was blasting Girls, Girls, Girls dancing on it like a groupie
Ahah I have a lot of vinyls like some are from my grandparents and I'm buying originals when I find them sooooo a lot ahah !
Idk how it's called in english so I'll say
41 "big" vinyls and I can't count how many "little" vinyls but probably around 50+ 😭
After Christmas we can talk about it if you want ! Last treasure I found was Europe Final Countdown original (I have a funny story about this one) and Van Halen 1984 original!
And for CDs I have (from bands I actually listen to) 21 CD :D 🗣now where did my money goooo🗣
It's still less expensive than therapy.
I try to find the originals record from 1980 for exemple so clearly second hand and in physical music store cause I'm not trusting online shop enough or at least for vinyls :')
And you ??

For the Cars I definitely recommend the whole Heartbeat City album and also Just What I Needed and My Best Friend's Girl!
HIM are great, do you know any of their songs? And yes I love Lost Boys! They played it to close their set when I saw them and it was the highlight of the show because everyone was going crazy
I also expected Cheap Trick and She's Tight as my number one top artist and song respectively lol. Buck-tick sound interesting, I gotta check them out! I don't get the hate some bands get for keeping going after a member died like obviously some should call it quits because they don't sound like they used to at all and are desperately trying to milk the success they once had, but so many put out some good stuff afterwards and sometimes even better!
Oh yeah Paul McCartney has a lot of good music, I bought most of his records at the start of my classic rock phase as well as the other Beatles solo stuff, though I think George Harrison's is underrated
Do you go to concerts? Which artists have you seen or do you want to see?
- 🎅
I listened to heartbeat city and it was a bit tame for my tastes maybe. just didn't hit me at least this time around listening, but I have been surprised multiple times when I've revisited an album I initially wasn't wild about and suddenly have found it pretty good. such albums have been gorillaz's gorillaz, kylie minogue's impossible princess, and caroline polachek's pang.
I don't really know HIM's music apart from the few hits I must have heard living here! they mainly make me think of a past coworker who said ville valo is the most attractive man in the world
george's solo career is the best out of all the beatles, in my opinion!! paul has so much stuff that it's a bit hit and miss. but george has a pretty solid full body of work.
a question for you, santa: what format do you like collecting music in? I've been a cd collector first and foremost since I like having both the physical object and a way to have the music digitally :)
I actually have a page on my blog where I've listed the gigs I've gone to lol. though right now it's not linked anywhere, but checking there I've seen (under the cut):
britney spears (2009) green day (2010) ozzy osbourne (2010) michael monroe (2011) paul mccartney (2011) yoko ono & thurston moore (2013) robin (2013) sigur rós (2013) robert plant (2014) 22-pistepirkko (2015) queen + adam lambert (2016) kraftwerk (2018) depeche mode (2018) ringo starr and his all starr band (2018) pet shop boys (2018) lebanon hanover (2022) isaac sene (2022) gorillaz (2022) angélique kidjo (2022) yeboyah (2022) the cure (2022) pet shop boys (2023)
I don't think I've seen anything this year, I've just been working lol... but I'm eyeing tickets to she past away next year since I have some gift card money I gotta use! as stated I am absolutely head over heels for buck-tick and I'd love to see them live but they only really perform in japan 😭

Queen Fans
I’m having a bit of a dilemma. Queen and Adam Lambert are in town tomorrow and Thursday, and I wasn’t planning on going because I thought all the affordable tickets were sold out, but it turns out there’s still a few available. Looks like they’re mostly in the nosebleeds, but anyway. I also kind of didn’t want to go because I was supposed to be starting a new job this week, but it’s been delayed so right now I have no start date and it’ll be Thursday at the absolute earliest at this point. Which means I could quite easily go tomorrow, assuming tickets are still available tomorrow morning.
So, should I buy a ticket and risk having to start a new job with a concert hangover? I know Q+AL are good, but will I still enjoy it if I go alone? (I saw them waaaay back on their first tour with my short-lived first boyfriend, is it worth going again now?) I’m not that worried about my safety etc, I know the area and Queen crowds tend not to be too rough anyway. I’ve never been to a concert alone, but I’ve heard it can be fun. Is that true? Aussies who’ve seen them this tour, were there many other younger people in the audience? (There were a lot of oldies there when I saw them)Also, it’s in an outdoor football stadium, will the sound still be ok? (It’s a different venue from the last time I saw them) Finally, I’m rather short. Will I be able to see if I’m in the “reserved seating” in the middle (temporary seats on the actual pitch) or am I better off in the actual stadium sections (where the seating’s stepped so I should be able to see over tall people)? I’ve been to festivals where I’ve had to move cos tall people have blocked my view, so I’m leaning to stadium seating, even though it’s further away from the stage.
Basically, should I save or should I go? (If you get that joke you’re awesome)

Queen + Adam Lambert Concert 13/07/2022
Hello my beauties !!
Yes, it took a bit of time, but here I am to share with you my Queen + Adam Lambert concert experience !! The concert I attended was on the 13th of July 2022, in Paris. The place was the Accor Hotel Arena. And it was amazing. You can find some pics I’ve also shared here (X) & (X)
It was my real first concert, and after almost three years of waiting, since the concert was postponed twice because of the bloody pandemic, it eventually happened. For real.
Despite a few people telling us it would be hard to get there by car, given the traffic on the Parisian ring road, we went with our car anyways. Given work and our responsibilities, it was only a one-day thing, we didn’t book a hotel or anything. The arena’s door, as well as the parking’s doors, would open at 6pm and we were right on time. There were renovation works around the arena, so we had to bypass a few buildings to eventually find our entry. We had been lucky -and quick enough- to have orchestra located tickets.
We stopped at the shop, cause yes, despite the high prices, we needed a lil souvenir for our mom. Another stop to get a drink since ours weren’t allowed in the arena for security reasons and we got into the belly of the beast. It was about 1 hour and a half before the show. The arena wasn’t really peopley, since the audience was still arriving. Lovely hostesses to guide us to our seats and also many security men….
Cause yes, in Paris’ Arena, despite this being an actual rock and roll concert, we were seated. Brian complained about it in a post. Unfortunately in France in 2013, there had been terrorists attacks during a concert and from now on, there are many rules to protect everyone. I’m not blaming anyone on this one. During the show, we eventually got up and danced a bit, trying our best to show the musicians we were having a blast. Yet, every time someone was trying to get closer to the stage, even just to take a lil pic, people were asked to get back to there seats. I’m not here to tell this was right or wrong. It was how it was, and honestly, within the audience, everyone behaved super well, not pushing anyone, trying to let those on the back see as well. For once, French people showed how it was to be polite lol, even if I spotted many nationalities, such as Japanese (the gal in our raw was so cute, she was so overwhelmed, crying a damn lot), Dutch, German, Spanish….
There was also this couple, and they were awesome. The man was dressed like Freddie during the Wembley concerts and the woman was also dressed as Freddie, but she was wearing a tiny leather short with a leather top and a leather hat and even a mustache. It was cheap, but so well done. Adam even spotted them in the audience and honestly, they totally deserved it. they were looking so great.
As we were waiting for 8pm to arrive, we could see the arena getting more and more crowdy, people clapping their hands already, everyone smiling, well some behind their masks lol, everyone already vibing hard.
And all of a sudden, the lights were off and soon, innuendo started to play, with amazing light effects behind the wonderful queen screen that was lower on the stage. I swear every time I hear innuendo now, I have shivers down my spine and I recall this amazing moment, as I was crying ahah lol
The concert lasted for about two hours and a half, with the following songs :
· Innuendo
· Now I'm Here
· Seven Seas of Rhye
· Hammer to Fall
· Somebody to Love
· Killer Queen
· Don't Stop Me Now
· In the Lap of the Gods... Revisited
· I'm in Love With My Car
· Bicycle Race
· Fat Bottomed Girls
· Another One Bites the Dust
· I Want It All
· Love of My Life
· '39
· These Are the Days of Our Lives
· Crazy Little Thing Called Love
· Under Pressure
· A Kind of Magic
· I Want to Break Free
· You Take My Breath Away
· Who Wants to Live Forever
· Guitar Solo
· Tie Your Mother Down
· The Show Must Go On
· Radio Ga Ga
· Bohemian Rhapsody
Encore:
· Ay‐Oh
· We Will Rock You
· We Are the Champions
· God Save the Queen
I could spend an endless time to tell you about each song, but honestly the whole show was just incredible. Roger Taylor and Brian May of course. Adam Lambert as lead singer, just amazing and giving us so much. Spike Edney and Tyler Warren were so great as well. And a special mention from me to Neil Fairclough. Of course, he’s not Deaky, but I would be honored to be able to play bass guitar like he does. Also, Brian mentioned the roadies, the technicians, all the people we cannot actually see on stage, but who are crucial for the show to actually happen.
I’m repeating myself, but the show was amazing, stunning, incredible from start to end. Funny, emotional, enthusiastic, almost flawless.
I actually read an article from French press the following day about the concert. I thought it was absolutely inappropriate from the journalist to actually give the musicians such nasty feedback. ‘Brian May was not that great on the guitar and was too much acting during Love of my life, dueting with Freddie.’ EXCUSE ME???? Please, get on stage and show us how you play the guitar and how you sing at almost 75. Tell us how it feels to know you’ll never see your best friend again, but try to keep his memory alive for everyone who love him.
‘Roger Taylor seemed uninterested and sang I’m in love with my car too fast’. Excuse me, sunglasses doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to see us. It means his eyes are sensitive. Actually, when he was in front of the stage, we’ve been able to spot how beautiful they are, such an intense blue. Also, this is his song, so fuck off.
‘Adam Lambert was off key during the whole show’, yes, sure, please take a mic and show us how you sing.
‘Spike, here again, as if he’s a member of the band now’. Sorry, yes, Spike didn’t ever play with Freddie and John actually, he doesn’t know what he’s doing.
‘Drummer Tyler Warren is just there to show his torso the young ladies’…. Well, I’m quite speechless on this one…. Tyler was just amazing.
‘Neil Fairclough wasn’t necessary on stage, he just came closer for under pressure, but that’s all’. True, bass guitars are not necessary in Queen songs, John was useless. -Strong face slap-
I’m aware Queen + Adam Lambert isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, that the band Queen with Freddie and John isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But I think being a journalist means being impartial, objective. And he clearly wasn’t. He deserves to rot in hell seriously, he got me so mad.
Anyways, at the end of the show, I think my hands carried on clapping until my muscles gave up lol all I could hear around us as we were asked to exit the arena, was people saying how much they enjoyed the show, how incredible it was.
We got back to the car and we headed back home, drained lol. In France, 14th of July is national day, so there were fireworks here and there, and even if I’m not a fan of fireworks, it was as if Paris was thanking Queen again for everything and this incredible show.
I didn’t write this all to make people drool or to get anyone jealous or anything. It’s my way to have all this archived somehow, a way to keep all this in memory, in addition to all the pics and videos we now have. And I wanted to share with you how Queen, again, makes me feel alive. It’s also a way to thank them all again for everything they do, every single day, for me.
And thank you if you read it all !!
Stay safe and take care !!! love you all 💖💜
