I finally got back to painting after the train wreck that was March is done! I swear the fates really hated March this year. First round we got the mini Meatwool Alchemy Lab Badge and the cookie bookmark! I plan on doing a gingerbread bookmark next since I really liked how the cookie bookmark came out. They'll be laminated and ready to equipped with clips to be attached to my main dolls if April proves to be a far kinder month (March can go in the toilet.)

I don't remember if this was canon or not, i don't have a screenshot, but Ink being able to distinguish individual taste for his paints. The colour of paints (visual) stimulates his taste and smell, which in turn stimulate his emotions when tasted. Others cannot gain these stimulants from their paint

I like to imagine because of these mixed stimulants he doesn't realise others can't feel what he does until a little later probably by some dumb interaction. He describes emotions and taste using colour descriptions, you know the phrase "why so blue" ? They'd do that in a literal sense. "You're looking a little purple..." "I'm yellow!" < They say to Aster, who has no idea what the fuck they're on about

I have my own little list of what I think the paints taste like and their emotion but I'd love to hear your take on them if you have any!! I like hearing what other Creators think of the idiot

I feel like if Jack wants to make a connection with someone, he will try anything at least once.

He's a 20-year-old who has never had to make friends before. Cas and the Winchesters are family, thats different. Friends he has to make an effort for. (At least in his head.)

If he thinks you really enjoy something that he doesn't, he won’t want to hurt your feelings. He wants you to like him.

So even if he doesn’t enjoy something that much, he’ll try to pretend.

It’s up to you to figure that out and stop him from torturing himself.

Although, the many sceptical questions and the suspicious looks are a dead giveaway.

I feel like Jack would really like those diamond painting thingies. Or just like, bedazzling things in general.

Like, I can see him contracting some weird cosmic-being version of the flu, being quarantined with an Angel!Reader and it being like that one episode of Malcolm in the Middle. 

Also legos. Just things that take a lot of attention to detail, something that can take his mind off of the constant pressure he is under, that you can really focus on, but that has a cool pay off at the end.

Animation as well, both watching (more 2D stuff like Batman, Invincible, Nimona)

And doing– probably more like stop motion, with again, legos, or claymodels. 

(I’m totally not projecting because I am an animation nerd)

He would, however, enjoy art galleries and museums.

Being able to admire and learn about things created by humans throughout history would be so astounding.

Would like to have you with him so you can observe, learn, and discuss together.

Ngl, it's really interesting people are playing the Heretic as unaligned to the Weaver and aligned for the Zealot, because I'm the exact opposite 😂. My Zealot is pious and I'm going to play her into being more open to other religions later in an anthropological manner (definitely not based on me, who's religious but loves studying other religions and cultures, including my ancestors's pagan ones, aksjdjknasdjk), but she's having an identity crisis first and foremost, because she is loyal to her (fake) goddess until she literally has nothing else to stand on 😂. 20 years of hard work down the drain! Nuh-uh! If not out of loyalty, sheer stubbornness is pulling her through 😂. The drama and character conflict is too juicy, the betrayal too personal, especially the religion was used as a crutch to justify her suffering. As you mentioned before, too, I don't want to make the religious character as someone mindless who'd fall into any religion just because she needs authorial guidance. Her being too trustful is what got her here in the first place, and needing to question and figure out what works for her fulfills a stronger story arc, imo—and it's not to totally divorce her from ever wanting an authorial and outside guidance for structure, because I get it and am like this. I just don't want to force another religion and deity onto her without her letting her question things and explore other options or at least know what there are other options, give her the agency she never got from the Sun Goddess's order. As for Heretic, I once again totally didn't put myself and preferences in her shoes when making her Weaver-aligned because if I characterized her as wanting to be religious and believe something, but not being able to see it in the Sun Goddess and her order because hypocrisy, things don't add up, the cruelty, repression, it involves hating half her self reasons. Increases the level of loneliness and validates her gut feeling too, while also allowing her find someone to rely on when she finally has proof of a deity that actually seems to care for her and not contradict herself (so far). Basically, this is me advocating to try the MCs out this way if you haven't already and for 10000/10 angst, haha. Make the girls suffer! As everyone says, I love we can play the MCs in so many different ways and get so many different versions of the MCs and stories for it, makes the replayability high and number of combos we can test out to get our favorite phenomenal. ALSO, you have no idea how the non-aligned Weaver Zealot route ending from the latest night has been living in my brain, rent-free. I still haven't tried the other end (want to see if I can get it with Heretic), but it's been wild to see how it seems to paint Valdricht in a better impression than whatever happens in the other end 😂. The "Valdricht scares me" asks have me like, "REALLY," since all I've been seeing is husband-shaped old man.

This is awesome to hear, almost no one has mentioned the unaligned route and ngl it was definitely my favorite for the Zealot!

As I’m wrapping the Heretic route I’m actually feeling stressed on behalf of the MC. I’m just like this is TOO MUCH how can she even deal with all of this without just screaming for hours? Thankfully we’re almost done with all of the Act I overwhelm and will soon get into actually getting to know the ROs and developing the romance. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of opportunities for delicious angst later.

I’m still blown away that so many players have such strong opinions about the characters already. None of it bothers me, it’s so exciting to see. Valdricht is awesome and gets better once players understand him and his motivations for what he does. Granted, appreciating him is definitely predicated on readers enjoying morally gray dark fantasy romance men. I could see readers being turned off by an authoritative love interest, but at the same time Serax would be exactly the same but without the finesse if it was just him and the MC. He can afford to be fun and permissive because he knows Valdricht is calculating and hyper-vigilant.

Once all is revealed, I suspect a lot of players will be replaying the first few nights with a completely different perspective on Valdricht, Serax, and The Weaver. I can’t wait.

He'll be the one least shocked by being called 'darling': he won't blush, he won't stutter, he won't freeze, he'll simply send the harasser away

As soon as the boy is gone, he'll turn towards you and check you over for possible injuries

After checking you out thoroughly, he'll start to wonder if the nickname you gave him is just to chase the harasser away or if you really mean it

He won't force you to answer him, but he'll stay by your side all day, making sure nothing happens to you, and he'll feel a pleasant warmth in his chest the entire time he'll be near you

Every now and then, he'll hear your voice repeat 'darling' in his mind, and a light dusting of red will paint his cheeks

Like Nobara, a sly smile will appear on his face when he hears you call him that

However, as soon as he sees the harasser approaching, he'll put his arm around your waist and say: "Haven't you seen she's busy with me? Leave my girlfriend alone."

After the harasser leaves, he'll abruptly turn away from you to not show you his slight blush and leave

You won't see him all day, but at night you'll receive a message from him saying: "Oi, did you make it home in one piece or are you so weak you need me to accompany you?"

Maybe you won't notice it, but from that moment he'll stay slightly closer to you, especially during missions, and maybe one day he'll be able to tell you he would always want to be called 'darling' by you

He has no shame: he'll proclaim himself your boyfriend and tell you outright he always wants to be called that

In fact, if you don't call him 'darling', he'll pretend you didn't talk to him ("Who were you referring to? I'm darling, not Gojo or Satoru.")

He too will notice something is wrong, so he'll pull you towards him and push you towards his chest

From there you'll be able to perfectly hear the very accelerated beat of his heart and to feel his very slight tremor

After moving away from him, after he sends the harasser away, you'll also be able to see his face: it'll be really red, so much he'll have to cover his face with his hand

That will probably be the event that will push him to confess his love for you

In fact, the next day he'll come to you with a bouquet of roses in his hand and he'll ask you to call him 'darling' again, but as his girlfriend and no longer a friend

Summary: he's jealous and you aren't sure why, until you confront him about his feelings.

Warnings: none? Age gap mention.

"What was that?" Your normally cheerful tone suddenly shifted, a small scowl now apparent on your usually smiling face. As you and the kind detective were casually joking with one another during the investigation of a case, Gideon suddenly interjected, making a sharp comment that you both should be working rather than 'sitting on your asses and talking.'

You watched as his brows furrowed in confusion, his eyes narrowing slightly. "What was what?" he asked in genuine confusion, as if his behavior thirty minutes ago was either normal or hadn't even happened at all. With his arms crossed over his casual t-shirt and blue overshirt, he looked like any other guy. The fact that someone as well known as Jason Gideon dressed so casually was impressive, comforting, and helped you to see him not as some revered criminal profiler, but as just another person.

"What is wrong with you today? You normally don't care when I sit back and take a break, in fact you encourage taking a break from working. So I'll ask you again what was that?" Your tone felt unnatural and uncomfortable on your tongue, almost like a bitter taste that won't go away.

"Nothing is wrong with me today." Unusually he doesn't defend himself, infact you would almost think he was completely innocent if you hadn't witnessed the event it's self. "Did I do something wrong, did I upset you?" You ask, almost hesitantly.

This time when his eyebrows furrow they take on a more horrified expression. "Why do you think you did something wrong?" He sighs slightly, clearly upset by your assumption that you'd done something to upset him. In his eyes you were perfect, to him you had no flaws, to him it was like aphrodite had sculpted you herself. But that was the problem, you unintentionally were his problem, you were gorgeous and young, full of life even. And that absolutely terrified him, he'd been held at gunpoint, he'd watched people die and yet nothing terrified him more than his own feelings.

You shrug, "I don't know. You just seem..." You find it hard to search for the correct words to display how you truly feel, and the truth is that you don't know how you feel, of course you know, but you don't actually know. You know that you would do anything for the man in front of you, you know that you would give your life for his, that if the chance arose you would love him -if he let you-.

"Upset? At you?" He asks with a soft almost sad smile. He sighs "Oh Birdie" you could feel your lips twitch at the nickname. Once he'd invited you round to his apartment for dinner as a thank you for saving his ass on a case, and you'd asked about a book on his shelf about birds, he had spent a good half an hour talking about his love for birds, which were his favourite and why. So for his 49th birthday you'd painted him a watercolour bird, you'd never seen him tear up before that moment, he had felt truly touched by the gesture, he treasured the painting even going as far as to keep it on his desk next to pictures of his son.

"What?.." You fiddled nervously with the button of your cardigan. His saddened look at the way in which he softly uttered your nickname caused butterflies to arise in your stomach, this wasn't an unfamiliar feeling when you were around him, in fact you'd become accustomed to the feeling each time you made eye contact, or each time he uttered your name. This time however it felt different, like the stars had aligned in the midnight sky.

"I'm not upset at you, honestly it would take a lot for you to even annoy me. It's not you" His words feel heavy, like they sink in the air before my brain absorbs them.

"What is it then?" You ask with perplexed expression, you felt genuinely lost.

He lets out a chuckle, nervousness painting his features as his lips pull up onto a smile. "It's not you I'm upset at, I guess I'm upset at myself." He frowns slightly before staring at a nearby tree. "Did you know that birds are monogamous?" He asks casually.

"... I didn't" you respond slowly. "I'm sorry I don't really understand where this is going, unfortunately I lack social skills." Although it wasn't a joke you were certain it sounded like one.

"After I divorced my wife Jill I had assumed that was it, that I'd never be able to find love again because of this job. It felt wrong... the way you made me feel, the way you make me feel. I hate it, but I love it and I know I shouldn't. You're not exactly someone a man my age should be attracted to." He sounds almost ashamed by his own words and feelings, like he gets stabbed in the heart with each word he says.

"I'm 38... I'm hardly young." You laugh finding it almost funny, of course you aren't laughing at him, but almost the irony, you'd often told yourself that it wasn't right to be attracted to your boss, the man was not only your superior but also older than you. "I'm still lost... about the bird thing." You admit sheepishly.

He chuckles before continuing. "I thought that I was a bird, that I would only ever have the experience of love once, that I would only be granted the experience of being loved. What I'm trying to say... is that I think I would like to love you." He seems confused at his own words, his eyes closing with a sigh as he drops his head to his chest.

"... is that why you told me off earlier?" You ask with a small smirk.

"I didn't like that guy, he kept staring at you like a piece of meat." Gideon frowns, in all honesty he was annoyed that the man was making you smile, he felt annoyed when he realised that you could have anyone in thr word that you wanted, after all the detective was closer to your age.

"Oh my god you're jealous" you laugh. "The Jason Gideon who is as cool as a cucumber was jealous of some detective." You throw your head back as you laugh. He began to chuckle along side you, the sond was like a song from the heavens. Your laughs mixing together beautifully.

"I would like to love you too." You admit comfortably.

kinzo's room is so telegraphed to be a locked room mystery. he's entertaining too but i kinda zone out when he's talking about how his magic system works. i get the basic of more risk = more magic power but i worry it's the kind of thing that has Important Clues that my brain autofills with [arcane rambling]

battler constantly gasses up how good george is with kids and then george sees a family member repeatedly hitting their 9 year old disabled child and says, out loud, "not my problem"

Who Gave Maria The Umbrella?! again, if there's a 19th person, it's them. if not, natsuhi was my prime suspect because her alibi didn't have any witnesses but everyone else's did (if you really count grandpa and the doctor, like doc could easily say "i was with kinzo" and no one would verify that with kinzo). but then there was a scene right after from natsuhi's pov (migraine and can't sleep without meds, literally me) where she speculates who did it. so either the narrative is heavily fucking with me, it's gramps or the doctor, or it's someone with an accomplice

the narration is from battler's pov except when it's not and it's strange. it even isn't from his pov in some scenes that he's in, like the letter reading scene. this is the type of thing that could Mean Something way later but is just a little confusing sometimes right now

kyrie saying there's a contradiction in beatrice showing herself to maria but hiding from everyone else, failing to consider beatrice may be a Dramatic Bitch. i think there's probably a 19th person even if they are not necessarily a witch with magic powers

Elnora's kind of got this optimistic yet still practical approach to most things in life which I think is a crazy breath of fresh air for Solas. If he's having one of his weird cryptic episodes of existential guilt she'll usually just pull him aside and start asking about his dreams or something else equally mundane but still close to his heart. It's not that she's trying to change the subject either. She finds subtle ways to spin it towards an encouraging angle, like if his dream involved someone's memory of the Blight she's like. wow. crazy how that shit like. ended though right. and now we have people rebuilding and prospering on the land that used to be ravaged by taint. awesome how people can overcome and thrive and make something good out of tragedy like that right.

Solas is more private in nature so his methods I think are quieter. He lets her hang around in the rotunda while he paints to decompress from a long day, maybe ask an innocent question or two about what happened to set her off and just listen. There's something very soothing about watching him work too that I think calms her down — at a certain point she wonders if he's using magic. He also tells her stories to help distract and entertain her, and if(when) she falls asleep on his couch he'll maaaybe take a glance at her dreams to ensure they aren't troubling.

theyre also the definition of a ‘ its only okay when i do it ‘ person. like , for example , if you played a +4 card , they’d mockingly let out a loud whine for giggles. but if they have a +4 or +2 too , get ready to see a mischievous grin paint their face. theyd take this as a competition they have to win.

i feel like theyd trick you with their facial expressions and actions. lets say , you switch the color to one they have lots of cards of. theyd let out a surprised gasp while laying down on you a reverse card, two skip cards and a +4 card. 

half of it , they’re determined to win. if theyre feeling nice tho , mizuki will play easy for you. that lasts the total of maximum 2 rounds tho , they have a streak to maintain.

most of the time , you cant win for your dear life. if you do get lucky tho , they will jokingly get upset , but is actually pleasantly surprised! guess their talent sticked off to you.

i feel like you wouldnt play so frequently , only when you so happen to be over while kanades taking a break from composing. so things wouldnt get awkward , you always bring a card deck of uno with you.

if your relationship is established after the ‘ saying goodbye to my masked self ‘ event , mafuyu would oftenly join your game by kanades invitation. if youre lucky enough to catch honami unoccupied , dont be shy to call her too! the more the merrier.

even so , she does not care about the winner at all. kanades just happy to spend some quality time with you, even if its over uno. which leads me to think you’d let her win on purpose sometimes. her eyes sparkle a bit whenever she does get the victory over you , it is a scenery you cannot get enough of.

oh boy, oh boy. this … was actually harder than i thought it was gonna be. just because i am bad at math ahaha.

@by-reign , my sweet angel, the loml. i have talked about reign, both to her and behind her back, in literal circles. even my fiance has heard me literally gush about her hours. (but he’s also met her so he knows the general awesomeness that she is!) for the record, i’ve known her for over ten years now. bc i went back to look at my old ruby blog. and i made that bitch in november 2013. and who was the first person to respond to my lame ass open? reign. and it was history ever since. there are not enough words in the english language for me to articulate how impressed i am with her creative ability. her talent when it comes to putting words together, painting a gorgeous picture with her prose and even in the plotting process. i am and will always be in awh. and i am honored to be able to call her one of my best friends. because she is, hands down, the one person i can trust to be 10000% honest with me. esp when it comes to how in my head i can get with life and rp in general. and that shit is so fucking rare. this is long. but when i tell you, reign is my absolute ride or die. and i am just so humbled and thankful that despite my inability to be any shade of consistent, especially in the last few years, she has not given up on me. i love you, bitch. thank you. for everything.

@worthyheir , it’s crazy to think i have ALSO been writing with nadia for over ten years??? again, not consistently bc i am the worst rper in history. but damn. i do not know how she ever put up with me once she found my ruby blog. because… the red charming obsession. it was.. wow. when a girl loves a ship, am i right??? but i am honestly so thankful that she did stick around because some of my favorite times on this fucking hellsite have been publicly fighting with nadia over who has the better hockey team ( spoiler alert : it’s me. but she won’t tell you that. LGR. ~ ) and honestly, there is nobody better to have in your corner when it comes to.. feeling out a new character or even making an oc. because nadia will make sure that you feel the love. and will literally be down for just about anything, as long as it makes sense for her chara too. i’ve been all over the map. i have bounced to half a dozen blogs. and without fail, she supports me. i am in aw of her jace and forever grateful that someone finally gave me the push i needed to watch hotd. because these characters have my heart. i will forever miss the insanity that ouat gave us, but i’m also glad to have moved on and still have the best parts of the fandom.

Homestuck Beyond Cannon Upd8 for September 14, 2024

Couple days late on this one, so let's get started right away.

Oh! But first we have a news post. It is the first upd8 of the month after all.

I mentioned content warnings on the last upd8. Looks like I'm not the only one. Yeah, those would have been appreciated. But hopefully James can follow through on his promise to get better with them.

The Karkat plush is . . . today! Apparently you can now preorder it, or at least you should be able to. I need to check on that. I think my previous support counts as my preorder, but I want to be sure. Don't want to miss out on the wonderfully grumpy plush with the awesome hair.

The Patreon is apparently the reason we're getting upd8s like this one, and James is trying to figure out how to bolster it. Makes me, again, appreciate all the work Andrew did on the original. He seems reluctant to do another visual novel like this, but who knows what the future holds. Wish I could support the comic again, but right now I don't have the funds. Admittedly, part of that is because I play Warhammer.

Huh! I just noticed that the panel that we see while the game is loading is actually fake and created by the game window. You can barely see the outline there, but the big give away is the menu bar in the upper left. Neat trick!

Looks like @nostalgicamphibian was right! That feather is very much orange, and so that means we know who it belongs to. Maybe Vriska will take some advice and just chill and recoup for a bit. I'm sure she needs it after the last chapter.

Also! We can now reread the prologue from here!

I still feel like Vriska both needs to see Terezi and (Vriska). They are together in the bubbles, or were the last time we saw them. So she could do both at once. I think there's a huge lesson she could take away from that. One chapter left after this one, so we'll have to see I guess. For now, let's see some shenanigans!

And there they are! Bit of a callback to Rose having to wait on Dave before. Jasprose appears to still be painting the town red on Meat Earth C. Wonder if we might see Jane with her at any point in the future.

Hah! And Dad and Droug are apparently still running around too! That probably put a damper on Jasprose's night on the town! Also good to see that even this version of Rose is still sober.

Not so good to hear that Jake is still completely fucked up after what Dirk did to him. Jasprose hints that he still might have a role to play before the end though.

And, of course, we have timeline shenanigans! While Davepeta has been stuck with Vriska for multiple years, Jasprose is still on the same night of partying we left them with.

Davepeta is not pleased with Vriska's progress. Maybe they'll think different depending on how she responds to Scratch's abuse. But they're clearly worried, and this is apparently extremely important to whatever plans the two sprite^2 have cooking. And Dave is for once appreciating Rose's desire to understand the human psyche. Not that it would necessarily have helped with Vriska.

Apparently even they weren't expecting that.

IT'S MY TIME!

The characters in the Sky City episode have invaded my brain space (along with all the ones in Season 2, and the Old Order of The Stone…and The Blaze Rods. And the Admins. Maybe the Warden. And the New Order of The–maybe I'm just obsessed with all of them), so this is actually so awesome to write.

Word count: 800+

Isa

I feel like she just spawned one day and landed on one of the floating islands that she eventually made into Sky City.

Post-Sky City, Isa was still pretty strict. But she later loosened up once she killed her first Enderman. For some reason it gave her a lot of adrenaline (probably the challenge of a faster moving target).

No one knows how she is able to fight so well. Maybe she learned it when she first arrived in this realm? Who knows?

She is very close with Reginald, and trusts him the most out of all the guards. She thinks of him as a very close friend.

She's got a lot of pent-up rage, and tends to either take it out on other people (most of the time it's accidentally,) or on the poor mobs that happened to catch her on a bad day.

She probably named a random fish after Reginald.

“Aww, you like the water, don't you, little Reggie?”

“Ma'am, not you, too.”

She would absolutely have a moment where she GOES OFF. It'd probably be if someone messes with Benedict. She'll start sword-fighting them while Reginald holds Benedict.

Some guy (AHEM--Aiden--AHEM) would challenge her to an arm-wrestling match for…I don't know, some attempt for him to regain masculinity. But you know what would happen? She'd win. Despite the breadstick-thin arms, this girl is STRONG.

Overall, she'll still be serious and somewhat sarcastic, but also caring. She tries to be more understanding of what her people need and want, while also understanding they can't just do every single thing they want, because that can lead to dangerous outcomes.

Reginald

He probably arrived at Sky City the same way Isa did, but a fairly long time after her.

He loves sand now, especially since it has some significance from what happened when Jesse, Ivor and Lukas were arrested. He keeps some sand in an item frame in his house.

After the Aiden incident at Sky City, this man would carry the Eversource everywhere. He is definitely the type of guy that didn't want the pet, but eventually got extremely attached to the pet.

“Reginald, you don't need to hold Benedict while farming.”

“With all due respect, Great Founder, yes, I do.”

This poor man has to deal with Milo and has to keep him from getting killed. Why was he assigned to protect him? Because Isa wanted to make sure Milo won't turn against her again. And Reginald, reluctantly, got attached to Milo.

If Aiden is redeemed…oh, boy. Reginald would need to have the patience of an Enderman subjected to watching paint dry for hours on end while wearing a straitjacket and being confined to a boat.

Reginald will have to deal with Aiden constantly calling him “Reggie”, being dragged into situations he does NOT want to be in, and dealing with the rest of the Blaze Rods.

If he helps Jesse, Lukas and Ivor escape containment, he will keep that secret until the day he dies.

“How did the prisoners get free anyway? Pretty bad security, huh?”

*Cue sad Reginald.*

Overall, he is reasonable (with some exceptions when he forgets all logic), but also has a fun side. He softens up a bit around people he is close to. He is extremely loyal, and believes that no one is above the law.

Milo

This guy would read the Minecraft version of Shakespeare. Don't ask me why I think that, I just do.

He would probably try to befriend a fox and fail.

“Oh! Hello there, little friend! Are you attempting to yawn? Maybe defend yourself? Oh, are these the love bites I heard animals give people? Hmm, what's that white, foamy substance coming from your mouth–”

“MILO, NO–”

Needless to say, he needed a healing potion after that (when someone figured out how to brew one, that is).

If Jesse's gang ever visited Sky City again, Lukas and Milo would constantly be getting confused whenever someone calls Lukas “Blonde Guy.”

“Hey, Blonde guy!”

Milo and Lukas both turn around.

"Yeah?"

“Yes? Wait, who are you referring to?”

He probably likes writing poems and stuff.

Overall, he is funny, and rebellious (hence the building club thing). He cares about his friends a lot, and is pretty protective.

DANG THAT TOOK LONGER THAN I EXPECTED. It was fun to write though! But It was also a bit hard, considering these characters show up for one episode, and there's not much info about them. I hope I wrote them mostly in-character.

As a physically disabled person (been in a wheelchair with other serious health issues that nearly killed me before I even turned ten) I think I’ve earned the right to not be inspiring 😂. The media paints disabled people as martyrs, stoic long-suffering saints with zero selfish impulses and an unending compassion for everyone. As for me? Well, I’m a self-proclaimed lazy teenager who would rather read or write fan-fiction and watch Doctor Who than be a big sensation, I keep things lowkey because this is just the way my life’s always been, I internally cringe if people say I’m inspirational. Like, what do I do that’s inspirational? Keep existing when my body is held together by sticky tape, audacity and sheer force of will? Mock Tiny Tim and the girl from Heidi every once in a while like “If I pray really hard, I’ll walk again, God bless us everyone!”? I’m just an ordinary girl with a shitty body that hates me, I don’t even have all my medical care routines memorised because I try not to think about it as much as possible (denial is not just a river in Egypt). I’m not saying that disabled people shouldn’t inspire you to care for your fellow human beings and to make sure that people get the aid and support they need, I just think that sometimes, the best way to support someone like me is just to treat me like an able-bodied human (to an extent) - I am proudly uninspiring, sure I don’t complain about my life because I’m very happy all things considered, but I am 100% not hero material 😂. Sorry for this random post out of nowhere, I kinda just wanted to vent 😅. Also I just want to add that nobody here on Tumblr has treated me like that - you guys are all awesome - it’s just random adults in real life, and it gets slightly annoying 😭.

frisk flipped a little makeup mirror to face me.

they'd painted blue butterfly wings around my eye sockets. frisk's concentrated face while painting made a lot more sense now.

"honestly?"

"i fully expected to be a clown."

"I thought about it, but that's too obvious."

"Plus, I wanted to actually try painting something good."

frisk looked proud of their handiwork.

"done with papyrus' yet?"

undyne took the mirror from frisk and aimed it at paps.

YES YES YES, okay, first of all, I think we can all agree with the lipstick urges 🙏 And the heavy metal omg I have so much going through my mind now. I can totally see him with some dark eyeliner and eyeshadow, and possiblyyyyyy lipstick.

I'm not sure how much you know about metal makeup, so I'll keep it simple, but I can invision him in corpse paint. I think these metal concerts are one of the few places he can be himself and not just Diavolo's butler, so he'd totally let loose. But even so, I believe he's still just a clean and tidy person, butler or not, so I could see him doing corpse paint with all its usual elements, just not as large to keep it within his preferences.

Also, totally agree. I would do heinous things to just watch him do makeup. I already find doing my daily makeup on myself very calming, so to see the beautiful and elegant Barbatos doing it would probably be like a dream. My everyday makeup takes about 30-40 minutes (I wear full goth makeup every day, but it's totally worth it) and while my original thought was that he'd be able to do it really fast, I honestly think he'd take his time! Once again, makeup and very calming and even therapeutic, and with the busy butler Barbatos is, I'm sure he'd appreciate the peacefulness of it.

Honestly, I'd adore to just sit and watch Barbatos through the mirror applying makeup so diligently, It'd be such a calming experience that there is a genuine chance I'd just fall asleep on his shoulder. Sorry, I'm thinking thoughts, teehee.

Okay I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who lost my mind over the lipstick situation lol!

I admittedly know very little about metal makeup, I had to look up corpse paint. But it looks awesome!! And now I'm like yes, I could absolutely see Barbatos doing that! I really love the idea that he has this one thing he's really into where he can be himself... but I agree that he does seem to be naturally a neat person. I think he'd do a masterful job of the makeup and look fantastic.

I do think he could probably do it pretty fast if he wanted to, but I like the idea that he'd take his time! Exactly as you describe, it's like the one thing he deliberately takes his time with, just for the relaxation of it. I couldn't possibly do my makeup for any length of time, but just watching him be all thorough and concentrating and almost meditative... just a daily ritual where he gets to pause and focus on himself for once.

And OH I love the idea of you falling asleep on his shoulder, too!! He's like okay, I'm done, but I can't move lest I wake MC~ lsdalkfdjlkfd

Honestly that'd be so cute. And I think it'd be cute if you did each other's makeup, too! I kinda think Barbatos would pay close attention to how you did yours and maybe incorporate some of what you do into his own routine. But I can just imagine him asking you so graciously if you would do his for him...

In my case, he would have to do it for me because I can't even do my own lol. But I think he'd do that, too, and I think he'd enjoy it.

Loved last night's episode of "Ghosts"!!! 😀 Putting my thoughts behind a cut for spoilers but it was so funny and one of my now favorites of the show.

Sass' ghost power being able to get into living people's dreams was awesome. Him being able to influence things was cool too. LOL But I'm also glad once they made up he can actually talk and hang out with Jay now, and Jay can finally see at least one ghost (not counting the ones they actually have photos or paintings of).

Feel bad for Pete though as Jay still can't see him and how jealous he is of Sass now.

The whole thing with Thor's "magic hammer" cracked me up especially since I'm a fan of MCU Thor and Norse mythology!!! LOL 😂 Also Thor calling heaven Valhalla.

Though feel so bad for him he's lost 3 girlfriends as they all moved on.

Hetty and Alberta trying to see if they date him if they'll go to heaven too. LOL And then Nancy actually thirsting after him. LOL

Also Alberta watching "Bodybuilder Wives"!!! LOL

Liked Trevor getting pissed at Hetty for doing this too. That was unfair to him even if they were keeping their relationship a secret. I didn't mind Trevor and Hetty together (even though I do still weirdly ship him and Sam since it's still weirdly there and I thought the writers would stop that but no LOL) but this made me see Hetty is a bad light.

Then Isaac following around Sam all day was so funny. And the revelation she's been flirting with that Kevin guy. LOL

And now I'm even more excited for the Halloween episode, which we are still getting even with this strike shortened season, as it looks like we might see Flower again with that seance.
