Anyway, if I had a nickel for every time a series had six installments that gradually escalated in ridiculousness, only for the sixth installment to end with a universe reboot and the seventh installment to pick up in a new universe where alternate versions of the original characters now exist in the distant past, I'd have two nickels.
One of those series is JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The other is Riverdale

You dislike the portrayal of Asohka in the Live-Action show? I haven't seen it but it's on my list - would you maybe explain why you don't like her?
It's kind of a lot of the same issues I had with her in Rebels. It feels like Filoni translated "Got traumatized by Order 66" into "Became a Cryptic Asshole and Literally Everything You Criticized About the Jedi, basically undoing all of the character development you had while away from the Jedi." It's also a bit of a vibe thing. I genuinely did like Ahsoka in Rebels, but it's kind of like Filoni forgot that a character's demeanor and actions can change your opinion of them no matter how much love you built up for them earlier.
Also I fucking haaaaate the Jedi fixation with Mandalorian culture erasure. Yeah Mandalorians are messy bitches with death cults, but it feels particularly insidious to be saying "You're thinking too much like a Mandalorian, you need to think like a Jedi" to a member of a diasporic culture. Ahsoka did this with both Grogu and Sabine, and Kanan did it with Sabine to a lesser extent because the Darksaber exists at kind of a funky intersect of Jedi and Mandalorian culture. It really kind of highlights the fucked up aspect of "Oh, your kid is Force Sensitive? Now they have to come to Coruscant and wear our Beige Robes and also forget everything about their heritage" for me.

obviously i haven't been on character.ai in a billion years but the fact that i've ever used it at all makes me worried that people have made chatbots of henry that horribly mischaracterize him
#melonposting#you can tell people do this when they don't want to put effort into learning how to rp#because some people just fundamentally don't understand how these characters work#of course a lot of the mischaracterization comes from the fact that you're having an ai do this at all instead of a person#but to make a bot on a site like this you can put in a description for the character#so you know a lot of the stuff that's just Patently Incorrect stems from people describing a character without nuance#and that's part of why these chatbots are inherently flawed. they only have so much character space for descriptions#so you aren't able to make anything really nuanced even if you wanted to#you have to hand the ai a bare-bones and often flanderized summation of the character#and then it pumps out vaguely character-flavored slop#when i did use it - and i'll admit to having used it - i would try my best to make my descriptions pithy and meaningful#but there's so much the technology can do. especially with the way it's set up#among other things no chatbot can really understand the relationships and memories its character is meant to have#unless you specifically describe those as being part of the character#while alternately... if you take someone like me who puts a lot of effort into understanding such characters thoroughly...#if i were rping as that character i would have a nuanced understanding of their relationships and memories and everything else#as well as their personality (which is more easily describable to an ai)#because it's those thing that make up the character! it's their way of experiencing them that makes them interesting to me!!#it inherently comes with my understanding of the character#there are a billion reasons to dislike things like character.ai#but thinking about it from the perspective of someone who is dedicated to understanding characters in a meaningful way...#not in a way that can be distilled into a handful of epithets and adjectives...#that just pisses me off :'D#considering how much i've done lately to explore henry as a person i find the idea of a henry character.ai chatbot kind of revolting

Belief
Enjoy connecting with yourself! Take time in those connections as there might be feelings or emotions that we're not always ready for. Self-love needs patience. So do you!
Below is a list of prompts I hope are helpful on your journey and discovery of beliefs ! Feel free to share thoughts, insights, or questions! Journaling is a very personal experience. In sharing, remember to not over-step yourself. Only share what feels right to you. This space is open to you.
Exploring Personal Beliefs
1. "What are three core beliefs you hold about yourself or the world? How did these beliefs form, and how do they influence your daily life?"
2. "Think about a belief you once held but later changed. What led to that shift, and how did it feel to let go of the old belief?"
Accepting Others’ Beliefs
3. "Reflect on a time when you tried to change someone else’s belief. What motivated you to do so, and how did it affect your relationship with them?"
4. "Why do you think people are so deeply attached to their beliefs? How does recognizing this help you approach others with compassion?"
5. "What can you do to accept that others’ beliefs are part of their journey, even if you don’t agree with them? How can this acceptance benefit you?"
Beliefs and Physical Reality
6. "Consider a belief you have that can’t be proven physically, such as a spiritual or personal conviction. How does this belief shape your reality, actions, or emotions?"
7. "Think about how beliefs—yours or others’—can manifest in the physical world. For example, how does believing in kindness create more kindness? Can you find examples of this in your own life?"
8. "Reflect on the idea that what we believe shapes how we perceive the world. How do your beliefs influence your perception of events, people, and possibilities?"
Balancing Perspectives
9. "What can you do to respectfully coexist with someone whose beliefs conflict with your own? How might this balance help both of you grow?"
10. "Imagine someone with beliefs entirely opposite to yours. What do you think they would say about their beliefs, and how could you learn from their perspective, even if you disagree?"
Reframe the Emotion
11. "For each item on your list, try to reframe your perspective. Can you find a positive or neutral way to view the situation, emotion, or person? What steps can you take to turn your feelings of hate into understanding or neutrality?"
Example to illustrate: "I hate that person because they don’t share my views, and it angers me. → They may have been raised differently or taught another perspective. While we disagree, I can appreciate the opportunity to share my beliefs and learn theirs without judgment."
Examine the Roots of Hate
12. "Reflect on where your feelings of hate come from. Were you taught to feel this way, or did specific experiences shape these emotions? What influences in your life—positive or negative—support these feelings? Are you open to exploring new influences that might shift your perspective?"
“Do these influences align with the person you want to be, or do they reflect something you wish to release?”
Consider Connection
13. "Imagine for a moment that we are all interconnected—like branches of the same tree or drops of the same ocean. Does holding onto hate for someone else benefit you in any way? If you were the one receiving the hate you are giving, how would it feel, and how would you respond?"
May this find the ones who need it and the ones searching to expand their minds. May it help form positive understanding inside and outside of yourself. May it help you to expand your love not only for yourself but for others as well, so it is. ✨️
Appreciation and thanks to N.C for your contributions 🙏
A gift from you to you,
Jera-Algiz

Merlin but Merlin loses it when Arthur dies and instinctively starts a time loop and every time Arthur dies it automatically resets...for angst purposes it could stay tragic..no matter what he does to change the past kilgharra was right. no one can change their destiny nor can they escape it. or by starting this time loop at all he's doing is preventing the rise of the once and future king so by staving off Arthur's death he's actually preventing anyone from ever really living again. a never ending story with one character aware of the narrative but powerless to change it. a puppet with a brain but no autonomy to put it to use. A tragedy of his own making instead the one prophesized
#so that it doesn't work on the first try maybe morgana remembers and interferes or#maybe future Merlin is a sort of apparition that can only act if his old body lets him. he talks to past him like a ghost or demon even#so what he's saying directly contradicts kilgharra or gaius so present merlin probably distrusts him like crazy#merlin becomes another old annoying person in his own ear#who he doesn't even know if he can trust#OR he ends up sending arthur back by accident and arthur is in the past trying to fix shit#and this CHANGES something because now there's warnings of a great ending of all things coming for Camelot and by extension albion#and arthur knowing about Merlin's powers after keeping his knowledge to himself (cos he died RIGHT after learning about the magic)#finally understands the burden merlin had without having to try and understand based on Merlin's summary of an explanation alone#he understands morgana and mordred even nimueh like he GETS it gets it#anyway time goes on canon events are rewritten and the 'great evil' rips a giant hole in space and time and it turns out#future merlin was the cause. because he was smashing alternate realities to pieces looking for arthur is desperation#not knowing where the hell he even sent him breaking any known laws of time and space and reality consequences be damned#arthur cannot kill merlin. he cannot do it. not even for Camelot#so this can be angsty too like merlin loses himself completely in the search for arthur (paralleling the og timeline where Merlin ends up#singularly focused on Arthur's safety instead of his true mission)#and it literally swallows him and their entire known world up#or they get through to him. arthur AND past merlin. seeing that past him was able to diverge from the set path. live more for himself#than just arthur or for the sake of camelot be a PERSON outside of that. and have knowledge that he DID change arthur's mind.#not just as a useless deathbed confession but as something that actively changed and SAVED albion redeemed him of the mistakes he made and#proved that arthur is the man the KING he told every antagonist he was#future merlin sacrifices himself to destroy the black hole he made and it's like that future never even was.#just a bad nightmare you can't really remember.#just thinking about Merlin god bless#bbc merlin#fic ideas

9 for fanfic ask game ??
9. Biggest pet peeve while writing?
Docs spell/grammar check constantly finding "errors" where there are none WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY missing/not knowing how to correct actual glaringly obvious errors
LIKE IM SORRY YOU SAW "AGAISNT" AND SOMEHOW COULDNT FIGURE OUT THAT I MEANT "AGAINST," WHICH IS IN FACT A REAL WORD
Yes I totally meant "upholsering" instead of "holstering" in relation to a pistol
HOW THE FUCK DID YOU LET ME TYPE "JARD" INSTEAD OF "JARED" AND NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT
Unfortunately I could go on and on

25 ways to be a little more punk in 2025
Cut fast fashion - buy used, learn to mend and/or make your own clothes, buy fewer clothes less often so you can save up for ethically made quality
Cancel subscriptions - relearn how to pirate media, spend $10/month buying a digital album from a small artist instead of on Spotify, stream on free services since the paid ones make you watch ads anyway
Green your community - there's lots of ways to do this, like seedbombing or joining a community garden or organizing neighborhood trash pickups
Be kind - stop to give directions, check on stopped cars, smile at kids, let people cut you in line, offer to get stuff off the high shelf, hold the door, ask people if they're okay
Intervene - learn bystander intervention techniques and be prepared to use them, even if it feels awkward
Get closer to your food - grow it yourself, can and preserve it, buy from a farmstand, learn where it's from, go fishing, make it from scratch, learn a new ingredient
Use opensource software - try LibreOffice, try Reaper, learn Linux, use a free Photoshop clone. The next time an app tries to force you to pay, look to see if there's an opensource alternative
Make less trash - start a compost, be mindful of packaging, find another use for that plastic, make it a challenge for yourself!
Get involved in local politics - show up at meetings for city council, the zoning commission, the park district, school boards; fight the NIMBYs that always show up and force them to focus on the things impacting the most vulnerable folks in your community
DIY > fashion - shake off the obsession with pristine presentation that you've been taught! Cut your own hair, use homemade cosmetics, exchange mani/pedis with friends, make your own jewelry, duct tape those broken headphones!
Ditch Google - Chromium browsers (which is almost all of them) are now bloated spyware, and Google search sucks now, so why not finally make the jump to Firefox and another search like DuckDuckGo? Or put the Wikipedia app on your phone and look things up there?
Forage - learn about local edible plants and how to safely and sustainably harvest them or go find fruit trees and such accessible to the public.
Volunteer - every week tutoring at the library or once a month at the humane society or twice a year serving food at the soup kitchen, you can find something that matches your availability
Help your neighbors - which means you have to meet them first and find out how you can help (including your unhoused neighbors), like elderly or disabled folks that might need help with yardwork or who that escape artist dog belongs to or whether the police have been hassling people sleeping rough
Fix stuff - the next time something breaks (a small appliance, an electronic, a piece of furniture, etc.), see if you can figure out what's wrong with it, if there are tutorials on fixing it, or if you can order a replacement part from the manufacturer instead of trashing the whole thing
Mix up your transit - find out what's walkable, try biking instead of driving, try public transit and complain to the city if it sucks, take a train instead of a plane, start a carpool at work
Engage in the arts - go see a local play, check out an art gallery or a small museum, buy art from the farmer's market
Go to the library - to check out a book or a movie or a CD, to use the computers or the printer, to find out if they have other weird rentals like a seed library or luggage, to use meeting space, to file your taxes, to take a class, to ask question
Listen local - see what's happening at local music venues or other events where local musicians will be performing, stop for buskers, find a favorite artist, and support them
Buy local - it's less convenient than online shopping or going to a big box store that sells everything, but try buying what you can from small local shops in your area
Become unmarketable - there are a lot of ways you can disrupt your online marketing surveillance, including buying less, using decoy emails, deleting or removing permissions from apps that spy on you, checking your privacy settings, not clicking advertising links, and...
Use cash - go to the bank and take out cash instead of using your credit card or e-payment for everything! It's better on small businesses and it's untraceable
Give what you can - as capitalism churns on, normal shmucks have less and less, so think about what you can give (time, money, skills, space, stuff) and how it will make the most impact
Talk about wages - with your coworkers, with your friends, while unionizing! Stop thinking about wages as a measure of your worth and talk about whether or not the bosses are paying fairly for the labor they receive
Think about wealthflow - there are a thousand little mechanisms that corporations and billionaires use to capture wealth from the lower class: fees for transactions, interest, vendor platforms, subscriptions, and more. Start thinking about where your money goes, how and where it's getting captured and removed from our class, and where you have the ability to cut off the flow and pass cash directly to your fellow working class people

Daily Prompt #45 - What would you change about modern society? – By Geox
What would you change about modern society? 📟 Keep Technology Humane, Not Hypnotic From ’77 forward, we’d guide technology toward tools of depth, not distraction. No bottomless feeds, no ping addiction. Devices stay purposeful designed to help you create, reflect, or build, not just consume. Software becomes more like musical instruments than slot machines requiring skill, offering depth, and…

Look, I agree with you; but you're not educating them on how they can actually do something.
If someone doesn't know and they feel powerless, literally demonizing them isn't going to change their mind. It's just going to make you seem like the enemy.
I'm sorry, but I think people need to understand that just because it isn't our job to educate others; doesn't mean we shouldn't.
As a Native it's easy for me to look at the pain and suffering of my people and get upset when the average American says "well it's not like we can just give you the land back what am I actually supposed to do?" It's entirely another thing to actually sit down and answer the question.
You need to understand their viewpoint if you seek to change it; meet them in the middle; answer their call.
Answering "what do you suggest people do" and "there isn't exactly a third option right now unless you know one" with "you're a demon and I hope you die" doesn't actually answer their question; it just makes you out to be someone antagonizing and like it or not people aren't going to feel sympathetic and understanding of someone being aggressive and antagonizing. Trust me, as a fellow minority who is actively facing genocide that no one wants to take seriously I do at least somewhat understand the frustration; but leaving them in ignorance doesn't actually fix anything.
Even if you think they won't listen, educating them in the public eye may reach someone who will; and that spark might be all it takes for real action to be taken. They don't think themselves as being someone doing wrong, they believe they are doing what they can, they believe they're trying to fight the good fight. If they don't know better, and people like you who seem to have knowledge they don't won't teach them; then they're never going to learn.
I understand the want to respond with anger, it's upsetting to see someone ignorant to something you're intimately aware of. However as much as it may be easy to respond in this manner, it's important that we do what we can to educate where we can, whenever we get the chance.
Do not make enemies out of those who are trying to side with you but don't know how; educate them on how to do better and trust that they will try. It's better than telling them you don't want their aid because they didn't get it right the first time.
People are too quick to make enemies of the ignorant, as if they are ignorant on purpose; as if they intentionally want you dead and want to be uneducated. Just because they don't know doesn't mean they're staying in the dark intentionally. We cannot expect reasonably that everyone is going to know everything.
For many this is really a "firebomb the walmart" situation; and no one is realistically going to firebomb the walmart. So they either need to be given an alternative, or left to act as best they can.
That's a reasonable ask.
Don't show them that you can't be reasonable, many seek this exact type of response to show that people like us aren't worth fighting for.
Do not give your enemies free ammo.

to any followers who have healthy boundaries with their parents, how did privacy work for you? like, if your parents respected your room as your space and didn't just walk in without asking, how did that go? especially if you said "no" when they had something they wanted you to do?
