WOWOW on Demand Sign Up Tutorial
Hello, I am back (?)
Quick tutorial in case anyone wants to sign up (and later cancel) for a WOWOW on Demand account in order to watch Justice in the Dark when it airs at midnight JST on the 7th of March (aka Thursday night going into Friday morning).
Under the cut to reduce spam!
Before you start, please know that whilst you will sign up on the website, you will only be able to watch the shows using the phone app itself, because the website blocks VPNs.
You will need:
The ability to install the WOWOW on demand apk on your android phone (for iPhone users, it's available on the Jp app store, but I can't help beyond that)
A VPN (I used surfshark)
Access to a JP phone number (I used the number given on my forwarding service)
A credit card
2530 JPY per month (JITD is expected to end sometime in June 2025)
STEP 1: Set your VPN to Japan, go to the WOWOW website as shown, and click on the blue tab circled in orange
STEP 2: This just informs you that the service costs 2530 JPY/mth. Click the blue tab again.
STEP 3: Key in your email and click the button to receive a 4-digit OTP (it will be the first and only string of 4 digits you see in the mail). Major email domains should work.
STEP 4: You should receive the OTP within 3-5mins. If you don't receive the email, check your junk folder etc I lost patience after 2 mins and clicked the button 😅
STEP 5: This is all pretty self-explanatory. Don't ask me to translate the T&C/privacy agreement because I didn't read it either 😬
Congratulations! You have successfully created a WOWOW Online account (this is the normal account which lets you watch free videos/livestreams for eg, Spirealm Ep 1 is free to watch for now).
Next, you want to create a WOWOW on Demand account, which is the service that will give you access to JITD, the rest of Spirealm episodes, and if you are in Japan with a BS Cable subscription, the ability to watch and record WOWOW shows on your TV.
STEP 6: FINALLY we get to the most important bit, so of course I forgot to screencap it. For your Surname and First name, you will need to type it in Japanese text, so go ahead and google translate your name. For the phone number, I used the number from my Jp forwarding service (tenso), but I did try again by changing a few numbers, and it actually went through to step 4 so... if you don't have a forwarding service, you could try random numbers following the 03-1234-5678 format? Don't quote me on that.
Click the blue button at the bottom (which I accidentally cropped out) to move on.
STEP 7: A confirmation window will pop up, keep clicking the blue button...
STEP 8: Almost there. Ignore all the blue buttons and choose the credit card payment option.
STEP 9: Scroll down and key in your credit card details (doesn't have to be Japanese), agree to the service agreement and then hit the blue button again. You will not be charged yet.
STEP 10: Confirm you really do want to spend 2530 JPY x per mth (which for JITD would be 3 months = 7590 JPY = USD$50) and click the blue button again. Your CC will be charged here.
Congrats! You're done (and broke)! Now, using your log in details, log on to the app and search 光淵 or こうえん (you will need to use your VPN on your phone too)
HOW TO CANCEL WOWOW
You will be able to watch shows for one month from that date your subscription was charged. Ie, if charged on the 3rd of July, and you cancelled on the 31st of July, you would be able to access WOWOW on demand till the 2nd of August (1 month from the 3rd of July). Hence, please remember to cancel a few days before your subscription is charged, just in case the application takes a few days to be processed.
STEP 1: Log in and go to My WOWOW
STEP 2: You'll be brought to your profile page, choose the 2nd option from the left (right next to the word TOP)
STEP 3: Look for the 解約 button
STEP 4: Look for the same word, and confirm cancellation
That's it! (When july comes, if there are extra steps required, I'll post a follow up 😅
Happy watching everyone!
#how to#jitd#wowow on demand#justice in the dark#mo du#silent reading#i'm sorry I disappeared#life got in the way as usual#thank you to everyone who sent me messages#i have not opened tumblr since MPW ended#i'm sorry if I worried anyone!!

Hi, do you still have modded spotify rec for android? Mine stopped working and the new one I got gives me ads, doesn't show any song in my my playlists either.
if u were using xmanager then yh ik on the reddit n discord a lot of ppl are getting issues personally im not really getting many issues it's still usable for me but i suspect it myb has to do with the phone version bc my phone is pretty outdated. i saw someone say u can download the real spotify app n adguard dns on ur phone n it will block the ads but ofc u wont get any of the premium features n i hvnet tried it myself. spotube is a good alternative to spotify but i wld highly suggest making a second spotify acc copying over ur liked songs n other playlists to it n then logging in with tht one to spotube so u dont accidentally lose ur og account.
my tips for xmanager which i cant verify but it's just what seems to work for me. i frequently use spotify on the desktop application (modded as well) as well even if im listening on my phone i usually control from my laptop since im in front my laptop so if it's possible to log in on desktop or web (mine is not modded) i wld suggest doing tht from time to time n seeing if it helps. usually when it's giving trouble i play a song on web with browser vpn on n hving the xmanager open on my android at the same time n tht helps n then i close web n go back to android. downloading an older version of xmanager also works sometimes i was using 512 for a bit then i reupgraded. also i find sometimes if xmanager isnt working del it download real spotify app play a song for a bit then delete n reinstall xmanager sometimes tht does the trick. if u dont hv access to a laptop myb see if visitng spotiyf web player on ur phone using show desktop version will help.
unfortunately i hvent found any xmanager alternatives. um those apk sites some ppl have said u can find modded vers there but ive nvr tried any personally n they tend to be hit or miss so you'll hv to keep trying till u find one. n again when trying those apps i wld advise making a 2nd spotify acc n siging in with tht first n testing it.
lately ive been really trying to find alternatives but so far no luck. if u follow me u can keep a look out I'll def post if i find an alternative to xmanager if not u can always send another anon sometime to check back.

Grass Airdrop Farm (5min, 300$+)
Good day, dear readers!
Today, let’s explore a unique project that you don’t want to miss out on.
I’d like to remind you that following my advice has already allowed you to claim over $2000 on Cetus Protocol. Similarly, I believe ZetaChain has the potential for significant profits.
What is it?
You must have noticed that in all applications on iPhone, Android, Vkontakte, Yandex, Google, etc. you are shown only those ads that you may be interested in? You were either interested in this product/service in a search engine, or just talk about it next to the phone. Almost all services collect information about you and sell it to advertisers without your knowledge. Grass does the same thing, only you get paid for it.
The project collects anonymized information using 0.5% of your communication channel and sells it to selected clients, who use this data to train artificial intelligence models.
A protocol that allows you to exchange your unused home network bandwidth for future tokens has announced a $3.5M seed round from venture funds Polychain Capital, Tribe Capital, and Bitscale Capital.
How to get started with GRASS? Follow the referral link: (bonuses will be credited) https://app.getgrass.io/register?referralCode=auzgpTiXUxrGedr Choose to download the app — Download Grass (we’ll discuss security questions in the post) Register: Enter your email Choose a username (or generate one) Set a password and confirm it Enter the referral code: auzgpTiXUxrGedr
On your dashboard, you’ll see:
Statistics on point earnings
The status of your networks and the number of points you’ve earned
Unfortunately, VPN reduces network quality and doesn’t earn points, but you can also earn through referral leads.
A mobile app will be launched soon!
!After registration, points will start accumulating within a few hours. The extension may take about 20 minutes to load.
I believe that a project requiring no investment other than providing your data, especially in the trending AI narrative, is poised for a powerful drop in 2024 on Solana.
Discord
Twitter
More interestingly: The founder of Grass discusses the possibility of releasing a separate device that will “look from under your network” and farm points/future tokens for you. Using the Solana blockchain architecture, thanks to almost zero transaction costs, will efficiently reward users after the token is released on the market. Claiming tokens/distribution in EVM networks is a costly matter, and projects like Grass would be impossible on the Ethereum network/not fit into the economic model.

Why is IP tracking not illegal?
Why is IP tracking not illegal?
IP tracking is used for a multitude of reasons. It will never be illegal to track (unless the information is being gathered for criminal reasons). If you would like to protect yourself from your IP being used by tumblrs to track their perceived enemies in the fandom you can download a VPN. A virtual private network (VPN) is an encrypted connection over the Internet from a device to a network. It prevents sites from seeing your real IP.
Free VPNs
If you would like to protect yourself in the fandom, these VPN serices are free to download and easy to use. They will disguise your true IP and you can get around those pesky YouTube "this is not available in your region" notices.

Rust Compiler Performance Triage
A lot of noise in the results this week; there was an lull in the noise recently, so our auto-inferred noise threshold went down, and thus five PR's were artificially flagged this week (and three supposed improvements were just reverting to the mean). Beyond that, we had three nice improvements: the first to debug builds in #117962 (by ceasing emission of expensive+unused .debug_pubnames and .debug_pubtypes), a second to diesel and serde in #119048 (by avoiding some unnecessary work), and a third to several benchmarks in #117749 (by adding some caching of an internal compiler structure).
Triage done by @pnkfelix. Revision range: 57010939..bf9229a2
6 Regressions, 9 Improvements, 3 Mixed; 5 of them in rollups 67 artifact comparisons made in total

Quote of the Week
The Tianyi-33 satellite is a 50kg class space science experimental satellite equipped with an operating system independently developed by Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications—the Rust-based dual-kernel real-time operating system RROS. RROS will carry out general tasks represented by tensorflow/k8s and real-time tasks represented by real-time file systems and real-time network transmission on the satellite. It will ensure the normal execution of upper-layer applications and scientific research tasks, such as time-delay measurement between satellite and ground, live video broadcasting, onboard web chat services, pseudo-SSH experiments, etc. This marks the world’s first official application of a Rust-written dual-kernel operating system in a satellite scenario.

The Showbox App Experience: How to Maximize Your Entertainment
If you're an Android user and a fan of movies and TV shows, you've likely heard of the Showbox app. Showbox has been a popular choice for those seeking access to a vast library of content without the need for a subscription. In this article, we'll explore how to maximize your entertainment with the Showbox app, covering everything from installation to tips for an enjoyable viewing experience.
Showbox App: A Quick Overview
Before we dive into maximizing your entertainment, let's provide a brief overview of the Showbox app. Showbox is an Android application that offers users the ability to stream and download movies and TV series for free. Its user-friendly interface and extensive content library have made it a go-to choice for many Android users.
Getting Started with Showbox
Here are the essential steps to get started with the Showbox app:
Download the Showbox APK: Since Showbox is not available on official app stores like Google Play, you'll need to download the Showbox APK from a reputable source.
Install the App: Once you've downloaded the APK, install the Showbox app on your Android device. Be sure to enable installations from unknown sources in your device's settings.
Open the App: Launch Showbox and start exploring the vast content library.
Maximizing Your Showbox Experience
Now that you have Showbox installed, let's look at how to make the most of your entertainment experience:
1. Explore the Extensive Library
Showbox offers a wide variety of content, including the latest movie releases and TV series episodes. Take your time to explore the library and discover new titles and genres that pique your interest.
2. Use the Search and Filter Options
Showbox provides efficient search and filter options to help you find specific movies or TV shows. You can search by title, genre, release year, and more, making it easy to locate your favorite content.
3. Create Customized Playlists
One way to maximize your Showbox experience is by creating customized playlists. This feature allows you to organize and curate your own collections of movies and TV series, making it convenient to access your preferred content.
4. Enable Subtitles
If you prefer watching movies or TV shows with subtitles, Showbox has a built-in subtitle feature. You can enable subtitles for content that supports them, ensuring a comfortable viewing experience.
5. Download for Offline Viewing
Showbox offers the option to download movies and TV episodes for offline viewing. This is particularly useful for travelers or situations where you might have limited internet access.
6. Check for Updates
Regularly check for updates to the Showbox app. Updates often include bug fixes, performance improvements, and new features that enhance your streaming experience.
7. Consider a VPN for Privacy
If you're concerned about your online privacy while using Showbox, consider using a Virtual Private Network (VPN). A VPN can help protect your data and identity while streaming content.
Legal Considerations
While Showbox offers a wealth of free entertainment, it's essential to be aware of the legal implications of using the app. Showbox provides access to copyrighted material without proper licensing, which can lead to copyright infringement issues. To enjoy movies and TV shows legally and without worry, consider exploring subscription-based streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, or Disney+.
Conclusion: Enjoy Your Showbox Entertainment
In conclusion, the Showbox app can be a fantastic source of entertainment for Android users. By following the steps to install and use the app, exploring its extensive content library, and making use of its features, you can maximize your Showbox experience. However, it's crucial to use Showbox responsibly and be aware of the legal considerations associated with streaming copyrighted material without authorization. Enjoy your favorite movies and TV shows with Showbox while keeping these guidelines in mind for a safe and enjoyable viewing experience.

Just to clarify, duckduckgo does not (and cannot) stop Google or Microsoft from scraping your Tumblr posts, because data protection and tracking protection are two different things.
Data protection is intended to protect the content you create, e.g. by stopping web scrapers from scraping data that you have made publicly available on the internet. If your Tumblr is public, then anyone with a web browser can go to your blog and copy out text, images, etc. that you've put there, where "anyone" includes both normal people reading your blog and bots downloading everything they can find. Data protection also includes convincing companies not to give your data to other companies - if your Tumblr is private, for example, then Midjourney can't just find it online and download everything you've put there, but Tumblr itself still has access to all that data and could sell it to Midjourney if they wanted to (and they definitely want to).
Tracking protection is about protecting surveillance of your behavior. Any time you do anything on a website, a desktop application, a mobile app, etc. the thing you're using knows that you're using it, and could, if it wanted to, send messages to someone else saying "User X just opened this phone game, and clicked these four buttons". Generally apps and websites and whatnot also have some access to information about the device they're running on, because sometimes this is necessary for programs to function, but this means your mobile game can also say "And also when they opened the game it was on a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 running Android 13.6 and their IP address suggests they're in Chicago and their battery is at 68% and the phone sensors think they're holding it at about 75° and they just pasted the string '_H7wM6.-FfqF-378' into this particular box and..." This is also a serious problem, but it's a different serious problem than protecting the data you create.
Duckduckgo's new App Tracking Protection feature is designed to help with the latter, not with the former (basically, it runs a local "VPN" so that it can block all traffic from any app to certain known tracking companies, with "VPN" in quotes because it's entirely on-device so it's not really a VPN but it looks like one to the operating system). It's a similar principle to the pi-hole network-wide ad blocker, just localized to your phone).
Which is not to say that you shouldn't use it! It looks like a really useful feature to prevent random apps from reporting your activities to tracking services! But it won't do shit to stop Midjourney from getting your Tumblr posts because they can do that without any involvement from your phone whatsoever.
its official: tumblr is selling our data to Midjourney
we'd been hearing rumors about this for a bit but now its open and out there. some details from this article
it goes without saying, but if @staff goes through with this its going to be an utter shitshow and im all but certain the website will not survive it.

Change your IP address You can attempt to have your ban overturned by contacting Epic Games, the game's creator. They might be able to provide you with more details on why you were banned and ways to avoid being caught later on. This won't help if the ban was for serious violations like cheating or hacking. The fastest method of avoiding Fortnite IP bans is by using a VPN. Installed on your mobile or PC, these apps will change your IP address and allow you to enjoy the game. They are also more reliable than hotspots, which can cost you money and limit your data. NordVPN has the fastest speeds and the lowest ping of any gaming VPN. It's important to keep your gaming running smoothly especially when you're trying to dodge a ban. 3. Use an VPN You may receive an Fortnite banning that is unfair or illegitimate. You can connect up to 10 devices simultaneously and the service comes with a guarantee. Another alternative is PIA It offers servers in more than 91 countries and can assist you in lowering your ping by finding a route that is close to the servers of the game. It's simple to use, and works with desktops (PC and Mac), smartphones (iOS and Android) and consoles (with the option of setting up your router manually). The no-logs policy permits users to remain completely anonymous on the Internet. You can try it for no cost. 4. Contact Epic Games Banning yourself from Fortnite can be a frustrating and stressful experience. The loss of V-Bucks and skins can be an unsettling experience for any player. It is important to know the reason behind your ban, and how to obtain your Fortnite account back.
