this build was inspired by a few different things, but one of the main ones was the small public high school i went to, sort of combined with the style of some of the bigger schools in the area. those enormous brick buildings were always so impressive to me when i was younger, and so I tried to mimic that style but with a layout a little smaller, and more similar to my school growing up.

as much as i love to complain, i actually had a lot of fun with this build! I'm really happy with how it turned out, and very very excited to take ten bajillion story screenshots in it to post here ^^

We have one building that won a bunch of environmental design awards on campus. It's beautiful inside: big windows overlooking the campus, a huge, wood-panelled executive boardroom, windows so you can see the workings of the bioenergy plant that lives in the other half. It always smells like fresh lumber because it's where they store the forestry waste we use to heat the campus.

But, because it's where the energy plant lives, it's up on the hill above the campus. And nobody ever goes there except the engineers, because you need to climb the Hell Stairs to get there. We're in the north, so the Hell Stairs are covered in ice most of the year. There's no paved path from the stairs to the building.

But the building is very nice.

One field that badly needs to be purged of "Great Man-ism" is architecture.
