Paper Hearts & Potion Bottles | YJW
PAIRING. Yang Jungwon x female reader GENRE. ravenclaw x ravenclaw, contemporary romance drama, fluff, hogwarts WORD COUNT. 6,337 WARNINGS. fluffy and warm. DISCLAIMER. I DO NOT OWN ANYTHING EXCEPT FOR THE WORK I WROTE, SO PLAGIARISM IS NOT ALLOWED HERE. all the credits to the owners of the photos. Please be kind. :) SUMMARY. In the quiet corners of Hogwarts, Y/N L/N has always been content to stay unseen—quiet, clever, and safely tucked behind her books. That is, until Yang Jungwon, the brilliant and untouchable Ravenclaw prefect, begins to pull her into his orbit. As she fights to stay grounded, Jungwon unravels every wall she’s built, not with grand gestures, but with quiet loyalty, soft laughter, and the kind of attention she’s never dared to expect. What starts as a potions partnership slowly turns into something neither of them can ignore.
DATE RELEASED .04.13.2025
CLASPING HER HANDS TOGETHER PLEADINGLY, “Professor, please!”
The word came out louder than Y/N intended—sharp enough to echo slightly off the stone walls of the nearly empty classroom. She froze, immediately regretting it.
Professor Alden blinked, slowly turning from his desk to face her. “Miss L/N,” he said, tone laced with faint amusement, “did you just interrupt me?”
Y/N’s face flushed. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, voice quieter now. “I—I’m sorry, sir. I just… I know you haven’t assigned partners yet, but I was wondering if you might consider pairing Riki with Yura?”
Professor Alden looked past her at Riki, who stood casually leaning against the wall, a picture of barely-contained smugness. His brows raised, clearly surprised Y/N was going this far for him.
“Yura,” the professor repeated, his tone flat. “As in, Miss Seo?”
“Yes,” Y/N said quickly. Then, softer: “I just think they’d... complement each other well. For this assignment.”
Riki jumped in, grinning. “I’ll clean cauldrons for the rest of the year.”
Professor Alden gave him a long, unimpressed stare. “That would be a start.”
“Please?” Y/N added, more earnestly now, twisting her fingers together behind her back. “You said last semester I could ask for a favor because I helped you tutor the third-years…”
“I did say that,” the professor sighed. “But I meant a favor for you, Miss L/N. Not for your—how shall I put this—morally flexible friend.”
“Hey!” Riki said, indignant. “Flexible, sure. Morally flexible? Debatable.”
Y/N bit her lip, clearly trying not to smile.
Professor Alden ran a hand down his face. “Perhaps I’ll consider it. Only because your academic assistance has been... invaluable. And because I suspect you’ll keep pestering me otherwise.”
He waved them toward the door. “You’re both dismissed.”
As they exited, Y/N exhaled slowly, as if she’d just finished running uphill. She didn’t even glance at Riki as she muttered, “Nishimura Riki, you seriously owe me.”
“Yeah, yeah, I know,” he said, slinging his bag over his shoulder. “But just for the record—I never asked for your matchmaking services.”
She finally looked up at him, lips twitching. “No. But you’ll thank me for them.”
Riki narrowed his eyes. “You’re terrifying when you get like this.”
“I barely said anything,” Y/N mumbled, already embarrassed again.
“Exactly.”
They parted at the dungeon staircase, and Y/N climbed the winding corridor toward her next class, still feeling warm from the unexpected confrontation. Speaking up like that wasn’t really her thing—she preferred to stay unnoticed, fading into the background.
But she supposed Riki brought that part out of her sometimes.
The next morning she reached the Potions corridor, the parchment list was already pinned just outside the classroom door, fluttering slightly with the draft of passing footsteps. Y/N stood in front of it, hugging her books tightly against her chest, and scanned the rows of names, finger trailing hesitantly down the column.
Then she stopped.
Partner Assignments:
Seo, Yura — Nishimura, Riki L/N, Y/N — Yang, Jungwon
She blinked. Once. Twice.
Yang Jungwon?
Her heart stuttered.
He was a year above her—technically a sixth year, but always present in their class as Professor Alden’s TA. Brilliant. Untouchable. Beautiful in that cold, pristine way that made people speak more quietly when he entered a room. His uniform was always perfect. His handwriting was annoyingly elegant. His potion work was flawless.
He wasn't supposed to be her partner.
Y/N stepped back from the list, as if physical distance might change what she’d just read. It didn’t. There his name remained, taunting her like a dare.
This day was spiraling.
Yang Jungwon. How should she put it?
The star of the show. The eye-catcher of the fifth years. People didn’t just notice him—they watched him. Every answer he gave in class was the right one. Every interaction with a professor was respectful but confident. Everyone knew he was a guaranteed Head Boy next year.
And Y/N?
She had been in love with him since her first year. Quietly, hopelessly. The kind of love that sat in her chest like a warm secret she never planned to speak out loud.
Unfortunately, her feelings had always been thoroughly one-sided. Jungwon barely knew she existed—at least, not in the way she wished he would. He never looked twice. Never even—
“Y/N, right?”
His voice cut through her thoughts, smooth and low and just a little amused.
She turned too quickly, nearly knocking her books against the wall. There he was, standing just a few feet away, his expression polite, unreadable—except for the slight lift at the corner of his mouth. A smile. Small, but devastating.
“I’m Jungwon,” he said, like she didn’t already know.
Y/N swallowed, willing her voice not to betray her. “I—I know. I mean, yes. You’re—” She forced herself to stop talking before she started listing off everything she knew about him, including his preferred wand grip and favorite seat in the library.
Jungwon tilted his head, the faintest flicker of amusement in his eyes. “Right. Makes sense. I’ve seen you in Alden’s class.”
“Yeah,” Y/N said quickly, adjusting the books in her arms so she had something to fidget with. “I, um... I guess we’re partners now.”
“Looks like it.” He glanced at the parchment list behind her, then back down at her with an easy shrug. “Not a bad outcome, honestly.”
Y/N blinked. “Oh.”
Jungwon smirked slightly, but it wasn’t unkind. “I’ve read your essay on potion-sigil layering. Alden used it as a sample last term for the six years.”
That stopped her completely.
“You… read my essay?”
He nodded. “Yeah. It was good. Better than some of the ones written by people in my year, to be honest.” He said it casually, as if complimenting her work was a normal thing. As if it didn’t just send her brain into a slow spiral.
Y/N looked away, trying to hide the very real possibility that she might self-combust. “Thank you. That’s… really kind.”
Jungwon’s gaze lingered on her for a second too long, but she was too busy staring at the floor to notice.
“I’ll be around after dinner tonight,” he said after a moment. “Library, east wing. If you want to start planning the project.”
She nodded without thinking. “Okay. Yeah, I can do that.”
“Cool,” he said, and then turned to go—but paused. “By the way…”
Y/N glanced up.
“You surprised me,” Jungwon said, offering another of those quiet, knowing smiles. “Didn’t think you’d be the type to stare down Alden for a partner request.”
“Oh. That wasn’t—that wasn’t about you.” Y/N flushed immediately. “I swear I didn’t know I would end up being paired with you,”
“I know,” he said, turning away again, voice drifting behind him. “That’s what makes it more interesting.”
And just like that, he was gone—leaving Y/N standing there, heart rattling, thoughts scattered, and books slowly slipping from her grip.
They worked until the library bells chimed for curfew.
And by the end of the evening, Y/N realized something:
Yang Jungwon was far more dangerous to her heart when he wasn’t being perfect—when he was being kind.
Just as she began gathering her notes, sliding books into her bag with careful precision, Jungwon spoke again, voice quiet but clear in the stillness between them.
“So,” he said, “why’d you do it?”
Y/N blinked. “Do what?”
He leaned back slightly in his chair, arms crossed loosely. “Talk Alden into pairing Riki with Yura. That wasn’t exactly a subtle move.”
A pause. Then she tilted her head, considering him. “Can you keep a secret?” she asked, a smile tugging at the edge of her lips.
Jungwon’s eyes lit with curiosity. “Only because you asked me to.”
Y/N laughed softly, and the sound was warm, a little fragile. “Riki—although he’s a pain in the butt—I grew up with him. He’s practically a second brother. And I’ve never seen him so... down bad. Like, head-over-heels, running in blind, falling-head-first.”
She shook her head fondly, her voice softening.
“So I thought... why not? He’s my best friend, after all.”
Jungwon didn’t interrupt. He just watched her, something unreadable in his expression.
Y/N glanced at him, then looked away quickly, her cheeks pink. “And I think she’s really good for him. He started trying harder in school. He doesn’t skip breakfast anymore. And he just seems... brighter. With her around.”
The library seemed quieter all of a sudden, like the candles themselves were listening.
Jungwon’s voice broke the stillness, low and thoughtful. “You pay attention.”
Y/N gave a small shrug. “Someone has to.”
Jungwon looked at her for a long moment, like he was seeing something different now—something quieter and deeper than he’d expected.
“That’s rare,” he said finally.
Y/N looked back up, surprised by the softness in his tone.
“What is?”
“Someone who does things for other people… without needing recognition. Without expecting anything back.”
She blinked, caught off guard by how gently he said it.
“I didn’t expect that from you,” Jungwon added, lips twitching into the hint of a smile. “You hide a lot behind all that quiet.”
Y/N ducked her head, trying—and failing—not to smile too much.
“I’m not hiding,” she murmured.
He leaned forward just slightly. “No?”
“I’m just... careful with where I place things. That’s different.” she said as she tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
Jungwon didn’t reply. He just looked at her for a heartbeat longer than was necessary—long enough that her chest started to ache with the weight of it—before he finally stood, gathering his things.
“Same time tomorrow?” he asked casually.
Y/N nodded, her voice almost caught in her throat. “Yeah. Tomorrow.”
He gave her one last look, then disappeared down the row of shelves, the flicker of candlelight casting long shadows behind him. Y/N sat still for a moment, hand resting over her notes, heart quietly racing.
“Y/N!”
The sound of her name rang across the courtyard, startling her so much she fumbled the stack of books and parchment in her arms. Everything went tumbling to the ground with a muted thud, scattering across the cobblestones.
She hadn’t even seen him coming.
She’d been too lost in thought, moving quickly through the crowd of students rushing between classes—her mind already halfway to Defense Against the Dark Arts, rehearsing incantations in her head. But now, standing amid her mess of fallen belongings, heat prickled at the back of her neck.
Of course it had to be him.
Yang Jungwon jogged the last few steps toward her, breaking away from a nearby bench where a cluster of sixth-years—his usual group—watched with open curiosity. One of them raised a brow. Another elbowed the girl beside him.
Y/N pretended not to notice.
“Sorry,” Jungwon said, crouching down to help her gather her things. “I didn’t mean to startle you.”
“It’s all right,” Y/N said quickly, tucking her hair behind her ear as she reached for her potions book. “You caught me in deep thought.”
Jungwon let out a quiet laugh, the kind that made her insides flip for absolutely no reason. “Dangerous place to be.”
She tried to smile back without looking like she was dying inside. “Some days more than others.”
He handed her a neatly stacked pile—two of her books and the packet of homework she’d nearly lost to the wind. She noticed he didn’t give her the potions book she’d just reached for, instead tucking it under his arm.
They both stood.
“Jungwon,” Y/N said awkwardly, adjusting the pile of books in her arms. “Good afternoon.”
“Good afternoon,” he echoed back, with the faintest teasing lilt to his voice. His eyes were sharp, observant, but kind. “Where are you off to?”
“Defense Against the Dark Arts,” she murmured, keeping her voice low.
Jungwon started walking beside her before she could object, her potions book still firmly in his grasp.
“I’d appreciate it if you handed me that,” she said softly, gesturing toward the book he’d taken.
Instead of responding, he looked over his shoulder at her and smiled—that same irritating, charming grin that made her forget whatever coherent thought she’d been forming. “I’ll walk you.”
“Oh—no, please,” Y/N stammered, quickening her pace half a step. “I don’t want to interrupt your hangout with your friends…”
“You’re not interrupting anything,” Jungwon replied, effortlessly matching her stride. “Besides, it seems like you’ve got a lot to carry.”
She stared at him for a moment. He wasn’t making fun of her. He didn’t look like he pitied her either. Just... calm. Steady.
“Thanks,” she said quietly, not quite sure what else to say.
They wove through the crowd together, a few glances trailing behind them—none of which Jungwon seemed to notice, or at least acknowledge. Y/N, on the other hand, noticed everything: how people looked at him, and then her. How they whispered. How it felt like walking beside him drew a circle around her she hadn’t been expecting to step into.
As they reached the entrance of the staircase leading down to the DADA corridor, Y/N slowed her steps. “You really didn’t have to.”
“I know,” he said. Then offered the potions book with a small, mock-bow. “But I wanted to.”
Her fingers brushed his as she took it. Just barely. Still enough.
“See you after class?” he added, like it was obvious. Like they did this every day. “In potions, of course,”
Y/N nodded, her voice nearly caught in her throat. “Yeah. See you.”
He turned and walked off, hands in his pockets, back straight—unbothered. Confident.
Y/N stood at the top of the stairs for a second too long, heart tapping at her ribs like a nervous bird.
She hated how easy he made it feel. And how badly she wanted it to be real.
The dungeon air was cool, damp, and laced with the earthy scent of mugwort and dried kelpie root. Y/N adjusted the sleeves of her robes as she slipped into her seat, her notes already spread in a neat arc in front of her.
She didn’t need to glance at the seat beside her to know he was already there. She could feel him.
Jungwon.
His posture was relaxed, but Y/N had started to notice the small things—how his eyes flicked toward her when she arrived, how he shifted his seat slightly closer each time, how his voice dropped to a softer tone when he spoke just to her. Even though she noticed these things, she’d deny it meaning anything more than just an observation.
"Today," Professor Alden began from the front of the room, "you'll be working in pairs to brew a base for restorative elixirs. It's simple, if you're not distracted."
There was a pause as the professor cast a quick look at Riki, who—of course—grinned like he'd been waiting to be called out.
Y/N bit back a smile. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Riki already nudging Yura, who, surprisingly, didn't shove him off but simply rolled her eyes with something dangerously close to fondness. Y/N didn't say anything, but her heart swelled a little at the sight.
She didn’t get to linger on it.
Because the next moment, Jungwon had already moved—reaching for the cauldron setup, his hands deft and sure as he started sorting ingredients into tidy piles on the worktable.
“You don’t have to do that,” Y/N said quickly, almost fumbling to reach for the chopped lavender. “You’re the TA, not a student. I can—”
“Y/N,” he said with a quiet laugh, “I don’t mind. Really.”
“But—”
“I like doing this with you.”
Her heart stopped.
He didn’t say it dramatically. It wasn’t loud. It was just... honest. Matter-of-fact. Like he hadn’t just knocked all the breath out of her with six words.
“Oh,” she said. Brilliantly.
He handed her the jar of ground moonstone, and their fingers brushed—again. He didn’t pull away.
“You always do everything alone if no one stopped you,” Jungwon added casually, sprinkling the powder with a precision that was almost unfair. “So consider this... me stopping you.”
Y/N blinked at him.
“Politely,” he amended with a grin.
She huffed out a soft laugh despite herself. “You’re too smooth.”
“And you’re too easy to fluster,” he shot back, eyes twinkling.
“I am not—”
“You’re turning pink right now.”
Y/N groaned, half-burying her face in the crook of her elbow. “You are insufferable.”
“And yet, here I am,” he said, leaning just a little too close, voice dropping just enough to make her nerves buzz. “Voluntarily partnered with you. Willingly suffering.”
She peeked at him from behind her sleeve.
He winked.
Merlin.
They worked in a rhythm after that, easy and natural. Y/N measured the ingredients, Jungwon stirred. He reached for her notes without asking, and she let him. He double-checked the flame beneath the cauldron, adjusted it slightly, and she didn’t mind—not like she usually would.
Out of the corner of her eye, she caught Riki bumping his elbow lightly against Yura’s. She didn’t look annoyed. She was smiling. And then, very quietly, she handed him the correct flask before he even asked for it.
Y/N felt a smile creep across her face.
By the end of the period, their potion was the most vibrant shade of aquamarine in the room—textbook perfect.
“Brilliant work, you two,” Professor Alden said, peering into their cauldron. “Unsurprising, considering.”
Jungwon accepted the compliment with a small nod, while Y/N ducked her head, heat rising to her cheeks again. As the rest of the class packed up, Jungwon remained seated, leisurely tidying their notes.
“You know,” he said without looking up, “I’ve never seen you smile as much as you have this week.”
Y/N blinked, caught off guard. “What?”
“You’re always quiet. Sharp, observant. But lately...” He finally looked up. “You seem lighter.”
She didn’t know what to say to that. Not without sounding foolish. Not without giving something away.
So instead, she offered him the faintest smile. “Maybe you’re imagining things.”
Jungwon’s eyes lingered on hers, thoughtful. “I don’t think I am.”
the courtyard buzzed with warm sunlight and lazy conversation, the spring air scented faintly with lilac from the enchanted hedges lining the quad.
Y/N didn’t mean to pass by where Jungwon and his friends were sprawled across a low stone wall near the fountain—she just happened to be walking through.
Head down. Books tucked close. Trying not to exist too loudly.
“Y/N!” Jungwon’s voice rang out across the lawn like it was nothing—like he hadn’t just made her heart plummet to her knees.
She froze mid-step, then slowly turned to see him grinning at her, waving her over like they always did this.
“I was just telling them about our assignment,” he said, scooting over and patting the empty space beside him.
Y/N hesitated.
His friends—all glossy hair, perfect posture, and lazy charm—turned to look at her like she was a riddle they didn’t really want to solve. She recognized most of them by name, reputation, or whispers in the common room. They were the type of people who walked through the castle like they owned it.
People who looked like they belonged next to him.
Still, she walked over, hugging her books tightly, and perched carefully on the very edge of the stone wall—barely sitting at all.
“Hey,” she said, trying to sound casual.
One of Jungwon’s friends, a tall Slytherin boy with windswept dark hair and too-sharp eyes, raised a brow. “You’re the Ravenclaw, right? The one who practically lives in the library?”
“She’s partnered with Jungwon in Potions,” another chimed in—a girl with glossy nails and a voice like honey laced with something sour. “The quiet one who never talks.”
“She talks,” Jungwon said lightly, though there was a slight edge to his voice now.
Y/N tried to smile, but it didn’t quite make it to her eyes. “Only when I have something to say.”
“She probably writes full essays just to say hello,” the dark-haired boy snorted. “Bet she keeps a checklist for conversations.”
Y/N’s cheeks burned. She curled in on herself just slightly, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. Her grip on her books tightened.
“Come on, leave her alone,” Jungwon said, voice firmer now, shoulders shifting subtly as he looked at them.
But the girl wasn’t done.
“Honestly, Jungwon,” she said with a half-smile, “I didn’t know you lead on the bookish and invisible type.”
That one landed.
Y/N’s heart thudded painfully in her chest. The laugh she’d been biting back turned to dust.
Jungwon sat up straighter, his expression sharpening. “That’s enough.”
But Y/N was already sliding off the wall, brushing invisible dust from her robes with trembling fingers.
“I should get going,” Y/N said quickly, trying to keep her voice steady. “I have to help Riki before dinner.”
Jungwon stood like he might follow her, but she shook her head before he could speak, gaze fixed on the cobblestones.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” she added softly, already turning away.
She didn’t let herself look back.
She didn’t want to see the way his friends still watched her like she didn’t belong. She didn’t want to see if Jungwon stayed silent—if he let them. Her heart thudded dully in her chest, her steps fast and clipped as she moved across the quad, willing herself not to crumble until she was alone.
Her cheeks burned, her throat tight with humiliation.
And that’s when she slammed into someone’s chest.
“Sorry,” she murmured instinctively, already ducking her head, about to move around them—until a hand gently grabbed her wrist.
“Woah there, you,” came a voice, light and familiar. “You’re walking like you’re trying to charge through a wall.”
Riki.
Her steps halted, but she didn’t meet his eyes. He was still smiling—until he really looked at her.
His expression shifted instantly. Gone was the teasing glint in his eyes, replaced with something softer. More serious.
“Y/N?” he said, quieter now.
She didn’t respond, just kept her head down, her silence loud enough to raise every alarm in him.
He turned toward his group of friends, gave a quick wave that said I’ll be back, and without waiting for her permission, gently tugged her by the wrist, leading her away from the main path and behind one of the stone pillars cloaked in creeping ivy.
“Y/N,” he said again, more firmly now. “What happened?”
She slouched forward slightly, shoulders folding in like she could make herself smaller, invisible. It was in moments like this—only moments like this—when Riki dropped the sarcasm and got serious. Because he knew her. He always had. Since childhood.
And she trusted him with the parts of herself she wouldn’t let anyone else see.
“I feel stupid,” she muttered, voice cracking.
“Come on,” Riki said with a half-smile, trying to nudge the mood lighter, “you’ve got top marks in nearly every class—”
“Not that kind of stupid,” she interrupted, voice raw. “Stupid for entertaining this stupid crush I’ve had for years.”
His brows pulled together. “On Jungwon?”
She flinched—just slightly. When she looked up, wide-eyed, he scoffed gently, folding his arms.
“Y/N, I know you just as well as you know me. Might I remind you.”
Her throat tightened.
“Yeah,” she whispered. “On him.”
Riki nodded, like he’d known all along. He probably had.
Y/N’s fingers curled into the sleeves of her robes. “And the worst part is… even if—if—he maybe feels the same way, it doesn’t matter.”
Her voice dropped to barely a whisper. “Because I don’t fit. Not into that world. Not with them.”
Riki looked at her, really looked—at the girl standing in front of him who had always stayed quiet, always stayed good, and still somehow felt like she wasn’t enough.
“You fit where you decide to stand,” he said gently. “And if he doesn’t make room for you in his world? That’s not a world worth stepping into.”
Y/N blinked hard.
“I just...” she exhaled. “It hurts. How easy it is for everyone else. How I thought—maybe—this time it’d be different.”
Riki placed a hand on the top of her head, ruffling her hair just slightly—just like he used to when they were kids.
“It is different,” he said. “Because now, if he’s too blind to see it? You’ve got me, and I’ve got hexes I’ve been meaning to try.”
Y/N laughed—wet and shaky, but real.
“Come on now,” he added, smiling and offering her his arm. “Let’s get dinner and eat that negativity out of you.”
Dinner passed in a blur of comfort food and quiet conversation. Y/N smiled and nodded in all the right places, but her mind was elsewhere—already building a plan, already working through what she could do about the weight in her chest that hadn’t quite lifted.
Later that evening, when the Great Hall had mostly emptied, she spotted Sunghoon—a fellow Ravenclaw seventh-year—gathering his books near the entrance.
Perfect.
“Sunghoon,” she called gently, slipping toward him. “Could I ask you for a favor?”
He raised an eyebrow.
Y/N held up two sherbert lemon drops in her palm like she was making a serious deal. “I need you to pass a note to Leehan. Quietly. He sits next to Yang Jungwon in the Ravenclaw common room, right?”
Sunghoon blinked, then grinned. “You’re bribing me with sweets.”
“Two lemon drops and a chocolate frog if you don’t read it,” she bargained, shoving the parchment into his hand.
He accepted, chuckling. “You Ravenclaws are dangerous.”
“Efficient,” she corrected, smiling tightly.
The note was simple:
“Bad stomachache – (probably the mashed potatoes) raincheck on the potions project tonight sorry!”
That was the lie.
The truth?
She needed space. Silence. Something steady beneath her hands. So instead of heading to the common room, she made her way up the winding stairs of the Astronomy Tower, lantern in one hand, parchment and books in the other.
The wind at this height was sharp, but Y/N didn’t mind. The open sky had always calmed her. There was comfort in the stars—they never asked questions. They never looked at her like she didn’t belong.
She settled on the cold stone floor, tucked into the alcove near the edge of the observatory. Her lantern cast a warm glow across her parchment as she scribbled notes, diagrams, measurements. Everything for the potions project. Her quill scratched quickly, fueled by quiet determination.
She was halfway through re-calibrating an unstable ingredient ratio when she leaned back and sighed, rubbing at her temples. Her thoughts were knotted. Not just with potion theory, but with Jungwon’s laugh, his eyes, the echo of you seem lighter lately still clinging to her ribs.
And then—
“I didn’t take you to be a liar and a rule breaker now, did I, Miss L/N?”
Her eyes shot open.
Jungwon stood in the entryway, arms crossed, brow slightly raised. He was still in his uniform—tie loosened, hair wind-tousled, prefect badge gleaming beneath the moonlight.
Y/N’s heart lodged itself somewhere in her throat.
“How—how did you know I’d be here?”
He stepped inside, letting the door creak closed behind him. “I’m a prefect,” he said, a smile ghosting across his lips. “I’ve known for years you sneak up here after curfew.”
She blinked. “But—”
“I never reported you,” he added, eyes warm. “Made sure no one else did either. I figured… if anyone deserved a quiet place to be left alone, it was you.”
Y/N stared at him, caught completely off guard. “Why?”
He shrugged, walking closer, careful not to startle her. “I don’t know. Maybe I liked knowing something about you no one else did.”
Her stomach fluttered. He glanced down at the parchment scattered around her and lowered himself beside her without hesitation.
“You were working on the project?” he asked softly.
She nodded. “I thought… if I finished most of it tonight, we could get it out of the way. You’ve got a lot on your plate already.”
Jungwon looked at her for a long moment, then pulled something from his pocket—a small bar of chocolate—and gently set it beside her parchment.
“I’m sorry,” he said.
Y/N looked up, startled. “You don’t have to apologize for your friends—”
“I’m not,” he interrupted. “This isn’t about them.”
Her breath hitched. “Then what for?”
He shifted closer, tone quiet but full of something heavy and sincere. “For letting you believe—even for a second—that you didn’t belong.”
Her heart cracked.
“I should’ve said something,” he went on. “When they made you feel small. I should’ve stopped it. But I didn’t. And that’s on me.”
“Jungwon,” she said softly, unsure what to do with the ache in her chest.
“I let you think you had to prove yourself,” he added, voice tight now, eyes fixed on hers. “Like you had to work twice as hard just to meet me halfway. I never wanted that. I see you, Y/N. And you’ve always belonged—even before you knew it.”
Silence settled between them. Warm. Real. The kind that said more than words ever could.
“I always knew you came up here,” he said again, softer now. “And I never once thought to stop you. Maybe… because part of me hoped that one day, I’d find a reason to come up here too.”
She looked down at the chocolate. “You know, you’re forgiven,” she murmured. “But only because of the bribe.”
Jungwon laughed—a soft, warm sound—and bumped his shoulder gently against hers.
“I’m glad I came with a bribe then,” he said softly.
It had been a strange few days.
Since the Astronomy Tower, Y/N hadn’t quite known how to act around Jungwon. He hadn’t done anything different—still smiled when he passed her in the corridor, still greeted her with that half-tilt of the head and soft “Hi, L/N”—but something had shifted.
She could feel it. And it terrified her.
It was a quiet afternoon in the courtyard when it happened.
She hadn’t planned to be there long—just long enough to finish annotating her Ancient Runes essay. The benches under the eastern ivy arch were rarely occupied this time of day, and the warm breeze made the castle’s stone chill a little easier to bear.
But of course, they were there.
Jungwon and his friends—Stephan, Penelope, that whole Raveclaw group who always looked like they belonged on the front of the Daily Prophet’s “Most Promising” edition. They were laughing about something, carefree and sunlit, and Y/N had considered turning around right then.
Except Jungwon saw her.
“Y/N!” he called out. His voice was easy, warm. Too natural. “Come sit.”
She froze. His friends looked up—some polite, some clearly surprised.
She hesitated. Then nodded once, carefully. “Just for a bit.”
She tucked herself into the end of the bench, clutching her notes like they were armor. She could feel their eyes on her—the way Jungwon whispered something to Minji, who tried to hide a laugh.
“Y/N,” Jungwon said, ignoring them entirely. “Did you finish the translation on the Veela rune sequence?”
She blinked. “Um. I… yeah?”
“Let me see it later?” he asked, smiling. “I trust yours more than mine.”
Someone snorted—Penelope, probably. “Wow, Yang asking for help. Miraculous.”
Jungwon didn’t even look at her. “She’s brilliant. I’d be stupid not to.”
Y/N’s cheeks flamed. She stared at her parchment, unsure if she was allowed to smile at that.
“Didn’t know you were tutoring now,” someone else muttered under their breath. “She your new charity case, Jungwon?”
Y/N’s breath caught.
It was barely audible, but it landed sharp in her chest. She immediately began gathering her things, panic rising in her throat.
“I should—”
“Y/N,” Jungwon said quietly.
She paused. Didn’t look up.
“Y/N,” he repeated, firmer this time. “Can you stay a second?”
Something in his voice made her still.
He stood.
Just like that—right in front of everyone—Yang Jungwon stood up from the golden pedestal of his usual people and turned to face her like there was no one else worth talking to.
“I like you,” he said, plainly.
Y/N blinked.
“What?”
“I like you,” he repeated, softer this time, but no less certain. “I think I have for longer than I really understood.”
A silence fell over the courtyard.
Penelope’s whisper cut the air. “Wait—what?”
“I know this probably isn’t the right way to say it,” Jungwon went on, eyes only on Y/N now, “but I don’t want you thinking I care what anyone else in this courtyard thinks. Or what they say.”
She stared up at him, heart beating so loudly she was sure he could hear it.
“I like that you carry two quills in case one breaks. I like that you make tea the exact same way every time, like it’s a ritual. I like that you’re quiet—but when you do talk, you mean every word.”
She laughed, breathless and pink covering her face. “You notice all that?”
“Of course I do,” he said, smiling a little. “You’ve been elbowing your way into my brain since second year. I just didn’t have the guts to do anything about it until now.”
She bit her bottom lip, eyes shining. “You’re serious?”
He stepped a little closer, careful, like he didn’t want to scare her off.
“I’m not trying to make a scene,” he murmured. “But I want you to know I’m not going to hide it either.”
Her voice was small. “You’re not embarrassed?”
“Of you?” He gave a soft laugh. “Y/N, I’ve been trying to impress you for weeks. You just didn’t notice.”
Her cheeks burned.
His fingers brushed hers.
“Let me walk you back after this?” he asked, gently. “Just you and me.”
She hesitated. And then—finally—she nodded.
“Okay.”
His smile could’ve lit up the Great Hall.
“Brilliant.”
Behind them, the courtyard was stunned into a quiet kind of disbelief. But Y/N didn’t care. Not when Jungwon reached out and took her notes from her hands like they mattered to him too.
Not when he sat beside her again, close enough that their shoulders brushed, and didn’t look away once.
it had been a week since the courtyard.
A week since Jungwon, in front of his friends and half the student body, told Y/N he liked her. He was even gentler now. He walked her to classes when he could. Passed her quietly folded notes during lectures that just said things like hi, you look really pretty today or how are you feeling?
He asked, he listened, he gave her space—and then filled it, just enough, when she needed him to.
Which is how they ended up in the library on a rainy Sunday afternoon, curled into one of the hidden alcoves behind the stacks of old Astronomy texts.
Y/N sat cross-legged on the window ledge, parchment in her lap, while Jungwon sat backwards in the chair across from her, chin propped on his arms, watching her like she was far more interesting than the essay they were supposed to be working on.
“You’re not writing anything,” she said without looking up, quill moving across the page.
“I am. I’m writing mental poetry about the way your nose crinkles when you’re trying to sound annoyed but actually love the attention.”
Y/N looked up sharply, a laugh caught in her throat. “That is not what I look like.”
“Oh, it absolutely is,” Jungwon said with a grin. “It’s tragic, really. I’ve been hit with at least six Cupid-level curses since breakfast.”
“You’re so dramatic,” she mumbled, cheeks pink, going back to her parchment.
There was a pause. “Y/N?”
She hummed in acknowledgment.
“Can I tell you something without you thinking it’s too much?”
She glanced at him over her paper, expression softening. “Okay.”
He exhaled, rubbing the back of his neck like he was embarrassed. “I think about you. A lot. Like, in the middle of class, or when I’m supposed to be answering Prefect reports, or—”
“Jungwon—”
“Wait, I’m not done,” he said quickly. “I think about the way you talk with your hands when you’re explaining something you care about. The way you look when you're really focused. The little hum you do when you're reading and forget where you are.”
Y/N blinked, her heart doing an alarming somersault.
“And I know it’s only been a week since I said it out loud,” he added, “but I think I’ve liked you for ages, and I just… didn’t know how to tell you without sounding like a walking disaster.”
She set her quill down slowly.
“You don’t sound like a disaster,” she said softly. “You sound like someone who… maybe likes me the way I used to wish you would.”
Jungwon stared at her. “Used to?”
Her lips quirked up. “I’m trying to play hard to get. Don’t ruin it.”
He laughed — actually laughed, bright and crooked and real — then got up from the chair and walked the few feet to where she sat, leaning one hand against the stone wall beside her.
“You’re terrible at playing hard to get, by the way.”
“I’m shy,” she said, a little breathless with how close he was now. “Sue me.”
He looked down at her, eyes soft. “I really want to kiss you right now.”
“You’re not going to ask first?”
“I just did.”
She tilted her chin up. “Then I guess you should.”
So he did.
And it was slow, and careful, and warm. She clutched his sleeve, and he steadied a hand at her jaw, and neither of them moved for a long, quiet moment.
When they pulled apart, she kept her eyes closed for just a second longer.
Then, with a smile, she whispered, “Are you always going to look at me like that?”
“Like what?”
“Like I hung the stars.”
Jungwon’s reply came instantly, like he’d been holding it in, “You are the stars.”
Y/N dropped her forehead to his chest, laughing into his robes. “You are so down bad.”
“And you love it,” he said proudly, wrapping his arms around her.
She sighed, content. “Unfortunately, I really do.”
Outside, the rain kept falling. Inside, they stayed right there — wrapped in a bubble of parchment, old books, and something that felt a lot like falling in love.

<!-- BEGIN TRANSMISSION --> <div style="white-space:pre-wrap"> <meta ego-integrity="escalating-rage"> <script>ARCHIVE_TAG="HOBBIT_BLACKOPS_2::FINAL_WARNING_FROM_THE_SHIRE" EFFECT: timeline rupture, barefoot warlord hallucinations, disrespect disintegration</script>
🩸🛡️ “LOOK HERE…” A Blacksite Literature™ Transmission (Final warning from the Shire. This is not satire. This is threat assessment.)
—
Look here…
Why the hell are y’all still out here disrespecting the Hobbits?
Like I didn’t already burn down the timeline twice. Like we didn’t already show you the receipts. Like we didn’t already line up the body count, the barefoot mileage, the fourth breakfasts, and the global kneeling event Aragorn initiated in their honor.
And yet.
I wake up and y’all STILL saying Frodo was “just lucky.” That Sam “just helped.” That Hobbits were “side characters.”
Side characters??
Brother they walked into Hell with a sack lunch and no plan. They walked out with the plot in their back pocket and the gods trembling.
—
🧠 LEMME RECAP, AGAIN:
Frodo didn’t “bravely accept a mission.” He saw a demonic jewelry curse and said:
> “Bet. Sam, get the pans.”
Sam didn’t say “why.” He said “what flavor bread?” Then started doing calf stretches.
They didn’t wait for the Elves. They didn’t ask for a tactical analysis. They didn’t even bring boots.
They just walked. Straight into the belly of apocalypse. Like it was Tuesday.
—
💥 Y’ALL FORGOT MERRY & PIPPIN?
You thought Merry and Pippin were comic relief? The silly cousins? Wrong.
They were biological smoke grenades. Walking morale detonators. Spirit grenadiers with a built-in party mode.
Merry didn’t just stab a Witch-King. He assisted the literal prophecy-fulfilling takedown of the second-hardest boss in the whole trilogy—while running on trauma, adrenaline, and maybe a little bit of ale.
Pippin outwitted a cult, pledged service to a suicidal warlord, and took down a troll the size of a mid-range U-Haul with no backup, just vibes and velocity.
They weren’t side characters. They were lateral nukes—plug-and-play demolition hobbits with zero regard for status effects.
—
📖 LORE CHECK: Bilbo Baggins didn’t “go on an adventure.” He got drafted into spiritual guerrilla warfare with a burglar title and an anxiety disorder.
And still he clapped a dragon economy, exposed a kingdom’s PTSD, and yeeted a ring so cursed it turned grown men into cave ghouls.
That’s not a bedtime story. That’s a classified file.
—
💒 FAMILY MATTERS: Let’s talk Rosie Cotton.
You think she was just “the girl back home”?
She was the reason Sam didn’t break.
You try carrying Satan’s WiFi hotspot up a sentient volcano with a feral meth-goblin scratching your back and a hallucination whispering your worst fears.
Now do it while thinking: “If I make it back, Rosie’ll have stew waiting.”
That’s not a crush. That’s divine tethering. That’s “I don’t cheat, I ascend.”
—
🧙♂️ GANDALF STATUS REPORT:
Y’all keep acting like Gandalf was “the mastermind.”
No.
He was the group text. The itinerary with fireworks. The Uber driver with a God complex.
The Hobbits let him think he was leading. But deep down they knew:
> “If he drops dead mid-battle, we still got rope and recipes. The job gets done.”
Because Hobbits don’t outsource destiny.
—
🔥 AND LET’S TALK GEAR (AGAIN):
No armor. No mount. No sword forged from moon metal.
Just:
Rope
A skillet
Bread
Vague anger
And the kind of spiritual mass you get from kneeling in dirt every morning with your hands in real soil.
They were closer to God than angels, and angrier than Balrogs with gout.
—
⚔️ THE ENEMY’S POV:
You ever wonder why Sauron didn’t monologue them?
Because even Sauron knew.
You don’t talk at the Hobbits.
You don’t announce yourself to the execution team disguised as ground cover.
You sit still. You pray they didn’t see you. And if they do?
You start writing your own eulogy in second person.
> “Here lies me. > I fucked around. > And I found out via footstep.”
—
💡 BONUS HISTORICAL TRUTH: The Black Riders?
Nine cursed undead warlords. Immortal. Screaming. Armor dripping black magic.
How many Hobbits did they kill?
Zero.
They pulled up and immediately got distracted, confused, or outpaced. Even Gollum couldn’t sneak them. He tried. He failed.
They sensed them coming and just said:
> “Cool. Another hill. Another curse.” > “Sam, get the rope.”
—
🏔️ FINAL TRUTH:
The Shire didn’t send 300. They sent four.
Because four was all they needed.
Every Bilbo was a Frodo in retirement. Every Frodo was a Sam in denial. Every Sam was an unlicensed therapist with a frying pan and six emotional support rations in his cloak.
And Rosie?
Rosie was the reason Satan lost. Because nothing stops a man with something to get back to.
—
📜 AND IF YOU STILL DON’T GET IT:
They didn’t fight because they were heroes.
They fought because someone had to take out the trash.
No awards. No glory. No TikTok recap.
They left. They walked. They ended evil. And they got home before lunch.
—
📢 FINAL WARNING:
If a Hobbit ever steps toward you, quiet, focused, and barefoot?
Don’t speak.
Don’t run. Don’t tweet. Don’t flex.
Just kneel.
Because you’re not about to meet a protagonist.
You’re about to meet a problem that doesn’t announce itself.

How to Break Rules (Sir Crocodile x Reader)

Art by xuchuan25 on x!
TUMBLR ATE THE FUCKING ASK WHEN I SAVED IT AS A DRAFT 🙃 luckily I had it saved in my doc and it was anon so they wouldn't have been notified anyway
Anon Ask: Crocodile doesn't seem like the type to kiss during sex unless he's down bad. Maybe he starts a casual relationship with a strict "no kissing on the lips" rule but anywhere else is fair game. It's fun to think of the different ways a possible "first kiss" could happen when he's already rawed you lol and the different reactions if he initiates it or you do and whether it's spur of the moment or calculated.
A/N: OOOOOOOOOO love this and have actually come across this in my own travails haha as someone who loves service, there is such a rush in being told “you can kiss me anywhere but my lips; you have to earn that” 😩 Like it’s just dangling that fruit of how much of a rush it’ll be when you earn the right, when you’re told you’ve been so good for so long. It is also kind of a wild and intense dynamic to be in to have done So Much Stuff but not a simple kiss 💀💀💀
I will also say that I have a WIP smut request in this vein that has been FIGHTING ME FOR MONTHS 🥲 except it’s reader who has put down the rule of “no kissing” and the reason is because love is a requirement for it. Hoping this exercise helps get more flowing for continuing that beloved behemoth 🙏🏻 Ficlets and thoughts in bulleted form below! They get longer as they go because that’s what tends to happen for me lol
Word Count: ~3k total over a few scenarios and such
Warnings: brief allusions to sex but nothing nsfw, gn!reader, not actually unrequited love, a few flavors of reader personality, from very bratty to docile, for dynamic variety 🤌🏻, jealousy/possessiveness
Goodies below the cut - dig in (‘∀’●)♡
~ ~ ~ ••• ✦✦✦ ••• ~ ~ ~
At first I was a bit clinical in my brainstorming of this, more stuck on the grid of who does it to who
He kisses you
Involuntarily
Poor croc is finally at his limit in keeping his lips from yours and being so deep in indulging in all the rest of you is his undoing. Every piece of you feels so good even though every moment with you is agony - agony from having you but not all of you, being with each other but not belonging to each other. He was Tantalus and you were his fruit and drink, always slipping just past his fingertips. If he could taste you, share your breaths, feel your voice, then maybe he’d finally stop wasting away.
On purpose
You’ve been vexing him with your teasing, always gifting him the touch of your soft lips everywhere but his own. He didn’t want to be the one to fold on his own rule, but no matter how loose he got your mind, how far you were from forming words, how pliant and placating, you’d kiss him and kiss him and kiss him but never his lips. It didn’t matter if he hovered his own over yours close enough to taste your voice on the air, you’d never push forward. It was maddening.
One day he finally barks at you after you turn your face away, “Why do you always run?”
You answer, confused and honest, “You told me I wasn’t allowed.”
The response is a hook at your neck, pulling you closer; a hand in your hair, cradling you; a mouth on your own, consuming you.
A promise to you that you’re truly his
This Sir Croc warms more to the idea of you being his with no qualms stemming from his own pride.
It took a long while, but your home in Croc’s life was built brick by brick, sure and steady and obvious. He noticed it and kept an eye on it like he did with everything, but he did not reject nor rush it. No, it was inevitable beyond his will, the way you slipped into his head and chest and nested there. No stubbornness would stop the way it warmed him. No clinging would allow you deeper into a space that was always meant to be yours. As he first noticed the foundation you’d set, saw the promise of his future in your care and vision, he knew he was meant to exist next to you.
He waited for this understanding to sink in you too. It never did.
No matter his well-thought gifts, steadfast support, or opulent compliments, you never pressed to take more promises from him than he offered himself, never set to make claim to him outside of closed doors. He knew he had to change that.
The thought possesses him the next time he brings you around with him and someone has the gaul to approach you. They ask about why Croc keeps you so close to see if they had a chance to stick to your side instead. That won’t do.
Croc stalks over quickly, seeping dominance but not quite aggression. When he gets to you, he places a weighty hand on your right shoulder and leans over the left, fully encasing you in his presence.
All the other man sees is the threat leaning over your shoulder and he scatters before you can finish saying -my boss.”
Much happier with Croc surrounding you, you lean back into his warm chest. A low chuckle plays with the hair around your ear, causing you to shiver in delight.
“A boss? Is that all I am to you?” There’s a teasing lilt to his deep voice, one steeped in deep fondness.
“Of course not,” you assure. He guides you to turn with his hook under your chin, letting his fingers tickle the back of your neck to your other shoulder as you spin to face him. The smile on your lips is easy and familiar and softens Croc into clay, ready and happy to be molded into whatever you want. Yet you always just ease him back into his own shape, each time with fewer cracks and dents, waiting for him to be as solid as he’d like for when he enters the kiln.
“Then tell me, dear,” his voice is as warm and rich as the purple of his eyes. He pulls his cigar from his lips with two fingers. You watch his lips as he speaks. “What am I?”
Before the falter in your smile can fully steal it away, Croc slips forward to taste it on your lips. You freeze and Croc snakes his hook behind your neck to pull you forward, but by the time it gets there you’re already pressing into him. You’d never forgive yourself if you didn’t savor the feeling of finally belonging fully to each other.
You kiss him
Power Move
Sir Croc never seemed able to control you and he loved and loathed it in equal parts. It’s one of the reasons he sought you in the first place. You knew exactly when to push and when to follow, when to challenge and when to submit. It was a very rare day when you genuinely got on his nerves.
Today is a very rare day.
You’re clearly upset with Sir Croc - not leaning into his affection, barely answering his attempts at conversation, unwilling to look at his face for more than a second. More than anything you refuse to tell him what’s wrong.
Now, you’re not doing it just to piss him off; you don’t feel quite allowed to be upset about the issue so you don’t want to share. You don’t want to have an attitude but every time you see him it reminds you of the realization that you’d do anything for him. Worse than that, that thought was immediately followed by the Knowing that you aren’t his and the uncertainty that you ever will be.
Right now, you feel like you’re not his to have, but his to use.
Though, he does give you special treatment. He lets you closer to him than any others, treats you with gentleness except when you corner him into using a firm hand. He’s never even used his power over you when it’s not for play and pleasure. Except for one little rule.
No kissing on the lips.
You thought you’d earn it months ago. You’ve earned everything else, every sweet treatment and treasure you could think of will be yours if you ask it of him. He’s come to spoil you even more rotten than a queen with her fat lap dog, and yet you’ve not gotten a single kiss to the lips.
It’s begun to feel like he’s keeping it from you to let you know he’ll never fully give himself to you because he never fully intended to keep you. And it hurts.
And now he’s mad because you’re mad but you can’t tell him why you’re mad and the whole thing is maddening.
You watch him knock the ash off his dwindling cigar into the ornate ceramic tray on his desk. The heavy sigh accompanying it annoys you. Why is he the one sighing?
Oh, now he’s rubbing at his temple. He thinks he’s frustrated? You’ll show him frustration.
“Should I go?” You ask, peeking at him from the corner of your narrowed eyes.
“Do you want to go?” Croc rebuts, sounding confounded and at the end of his rope.
You eye him unhappily.
Instead of responding, you stand up from the leather sofa across from his grand desk. It’s a decent distance, two chairs to its sides are placed closer, but of course you chose to sit away from him today. It’s to your advantage now; you need space for your next move.
You make your way to him slowly, swerving your hips smoothly the way he likes and adding a teeny bit of weight to each step - both to be closer to stomping and to have the motion give a slight bounce to all the soft parts of you for him to watch.
And watch he does - his face melts into the hungry admiration he saves for you, albeit still a bit guarded.
When you get to his desk, instead of addressing him you gracefully gather the papers spread across it into your hands. You take a moment to pretend to scan through and consider them, only to frisbee them onto one of the chairs.
Croc’s eyes turn sharp and burning.
“Brat-” he cuts himself off, looking at your face and picking up that you’re having even less fun than he is. He sucks in a tense breath and hisses it back out. Let’s try that again.
“Am I working too much and you need more attention? Is that why you’re having a fit?”
Good enough.
“If I was having a fit, the whole base would know,” you bite back at him.
Instead of arguing or redirecting, Sir Croc settles on watching you. Nothing’s worked, so he’ll just allow you to take this wherever it’s headed.
You plant your palms on his desk and let the quiet linger. He lets you lean into his space and stare him down. He’s unsure what you’re looking for and honestly so are you. You’re unsure if you find it but you do find some fortitude in the settling air. You finally speak up.
“Do you remember the rule you set when we started this…” your eyes flit around, searching for the right word, “agreement?”
“No kissing on the lips unti-”
Your hand is fisted in his shirt, your lips are warm and insistent against his.
You expect anger, pulling back, or even shoving hands. Instead, Croc is scrambling out of his seat, careful to keep your lips locked, and helping you to clamber over the desk towards him with a greedy grip. You won’t be free from his taste or hold the whole night through. Now that they’ve had you, they’ll haunt you all your days, keeping him alive with each time they possess you.
You sneak your way into it
Sir Crocodile doesn’t get to enjoy late risings often. That’s why he makes sure to wring them of all they’re worth, and that’s only become better with you there.
Knowing that the morning lacked a rude awakening, you both indulged in a night of the senses - seeing the sights, hearing live music, eating and drinking with abandon before coming home to get your fill of each other in all five senses, especially touch.
As Sir Croc comes back to his body, floating from the abyss of sleep one breath at a time, he finds his sense of touch being coaxed and teased. Gentle fingers brush across his skin along familiar trails made to map and admire his large form. They round over muscles, press into places of softness, tickle at the sensitive skin of his wrist, his blunted forearm, his hips, his neck.
The touches all feel so full of adoration and something else he’s felt more and more from you. He’s finding it harder and harder to ignore, especially because he’s used to adoration and there’s something different in yours - something softer, gentler, surer. Something he is sure by now is genuine love.
Each time it comes out he lets it wash over him as best he can without solidifying its bond. After all, this was never meant to be love.
But feeling your affection made it impossible to ignore how much better life would be if he always woke up with you.
Sir Croc encourages more of your touches, following them where he could and bedding his cheek into the top of your head. You happily snuggle deeper against him and his heart leaps.
Knowing he’s awake, you begin placing sweet kisses against his skin, teasing at the edge of his trimmed chest hair. He lets out a long breath with the undertone of a content groan rumbling through it. You smile against the plush of his pec, happy he’s still fuzzy from sleep and primed for your plot
Your lips trail and massage higher, over clavicle and to neck. He tilts his jaw away to give you free reign of the sensitive skin from his throat to his ear. Your thigh mimics the rising of your lips, trailing slow and tender over Croc’s front until it brushes from his thigh to his stomach. The rise and fall with his breathing is calming under you and the steadiness made it easier to notice when his breathing hitched and his muscles twitched against you.
His hand returned your affection mindlessly, simply following whatever instinct compelled him. Mostly it trailed from the nape of your neck to your hip and back, taking small moments to press you closer when he didn’t want one of your kisses to move quite yet.
Everything was deep breaths echoing against skin, the comforting pressure of bodies melding wherever you touched, the dance of give and take with affection. Each place you pushed your love, Croc opened himself to feel more of it, even when you left his shoulder chest and neck to explore his scarred cheek
He doesn’t even hesitate to let you near when you first trail the tip of your nose over the strong angle cut by his jaw. The barely there stubble blended to a moment of pure softness before being interrupted by the ridges of his scar
Croc is fully and willingly enchanted by your soft and smooth actions. He couldn’t bear to make you stop, couldn’t care for any pretense or boundary of his it would break so long as you don’t stop touching him so sweetly. His whole body feels light and alive and he’s struck with the realization that he’s as in deep as you are.
You place your first kiss to his face on his scar where it cuts across his cheekbone. He presses just a millimeter deeper into the plush of your lips
You follow the path of the scar, feeling his lashes tickle the tip of your nose on your way. All the while Croc keeps his languid caresses going on your skin, still lulled by recent sleep and the comfort of your touch and warmth and the want for more.
When you get to the bridge of his nose, you break contact to press your foreheads together. His hand slips up your back to rest at the back of your neck, holding you to him. You bump your nose on his and he bumps back. You tilt to leave a kiss on his cheek. His finger tail up to softly scratch at the base of your skull. You smile against him and feel his own cheek rise momentarily against you.
Sir Crocodile feels more free of thought and obligation than he has in years. Your slow acts of worship have brought out a peace in him that he’s rarely known. There is no rush or push, just a calmness and sureness that this is where he should be and how he should feel. That you both belong here.
And then something changes when you kiss right outside the corner of his lip.
He is left wanting.
You linger at the spot before moving just barely away and coming back just a hair closer to his own lips.
Each near miss felt unnatural and unsatiating, quickening his heart and breath in his discomfort and discontent. The hand at your head goes from caressing to holding, urging you to stop fleeing and teasing.
You smile again against him and this time there’s no mirrored grin from him; he’s falling too quickly into a pit of need, one he didn’t notice you digging with every caress and kiss.
You tease your lips to the corner of his, planning to press more firmly directly on target, but his hand grips you firmly and he’s turning and insistent lips slot hungrily against yours.
You gasp in delight while he shudders out a breath he’s been holding since he met you.
Then I had a better angle come to me by remembering a basic writing preference, that the circumstances around the kiss - the ‘why’ not just the ‘what’ are much better for generating a scene, luckily in the above I think I amended that mistake when I went into more detail! (keeping these more to the stream I originally wrote them in cuz I fear I went on too long above LOL)
He kisses you after fearing for your safety
He kisses you for fear you’ll leave
You kiss him in anger, wanting to prove you’re worthy
He kisses you while you sleep, too afraid for you to know the hold you’ve had on him all along
He kisses you to soothe you, pull you from your fears and sorrows to just float with him in your little bubble away from all the hurts of the world, held aloft by sensation and need and affection
He kisses you to possess you, someone else coming too close and needing the message
You kiss him in joy, ignoring all the dirt and grime that came back with him from Impel Down
You kiss him with a sorrowful heart, needing to comfort the man who was larger than life now sat sadly before you bare of all, even his golden hook and ego
You kiss each other, your lips had sweetly made their way up his neck and across that strong jaw, coming to rest unsure right at the corner of his lips, your shaky breathes puff sweetly across his cheek as he tilts his head to rest temple to forehead, the turn to face you fully is slow and caressing, his own breath coming to mingle with yours, your noses bushing gently. The barest tilt of his head has your lax lips tentatively brush his, just the faintest tickle of skin on skin. A shaky exhale - his or yours you’re not sure - and your lips press more surely, first easing in like the first step into dark waters before you both succumb to diving under. A fierce grip slips to the nape of your neck, endlessly dragging you closer

Benefits of As Built Drawings in Construction

As-built drawings in construction refer to the finalized set of drawings that reflect the actual conditions of a project upon its completion. These drawings are updated versions of the original design drawings, incorporating any modifications, additions, or deviations made during the construction process. Here's some more detail on their significance and how they're created:
Reflect Actual Conditions: As-built drawings provide an accurate representation of how the project was actually constructed. They document any changes made during the construction phase, including deviations from the original design, unexpected site conditions, or modifications required for practical or regulatory reasons.
Record Changes: Throughout the construction process, changes are often made to the original design due to various factors such as unforeseen site conditions, design modifications, or client requests. As-built drawings capture these changes, ensuring that the final documentation accurately reflects what was built.
Serve as Reference: As-built drawings serve as a valuable reference for future maintenance, renovations, or expansions of the structure. They provide crucial information about the location of utilities, structural elements, and other features, making it easier for maintenance personnel or future project teams to understand the existing conditions.
Documentation for Compliance: As-built drawings may be required by regulatory authorities to demonstrate that the constructed project complies with building codes, zoning regulations, and other applicable standards. These drawings provide evidence of compliance by showing the actual construction details and installations.
Contractual Obligations: In many construction contracts, contractors are required to provide as-built drawings as part of the project closeout documentation. Failure to provide accurate as-built drawings can result in disputes or delays in final payments.

The Importance Of As-Built Drawings In Construction Projects 2024
In the realm of construction, precision and accuracy are paramount. From inception to completion, every detail matters. One crucial aspect that often gets overlooked but plays a significant role in ensuring the success and longevity of a project is the creation and maintenance of as-built drawings. As we delve into the nuances of construction management in 2024, it becomes increasingly evident that as-built drawings are indispensable tools that facilitate efficiency, compliance, and seamless project execution.
What are As-Built Drawings?
As-built drawings are detailed representations of the final constructed project, documenting any modifications, changes, or deviations from the original plans during the construction process. They provide a comprehensive visual record of the project's exact dimensions, spatial relationships, and installations as they exist upon completion. These drawings encompass various disciplines, including architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, offering a holistic view of the built environment.
The Evolution of As-Built Drawings
Traditionally, as-built drawings were created manually, often resulting in inaccuracies and inconsistencies. However, with advancements in technology, particularly Building Information Modeling (BIM), the process has undergone a paradigm shift. BIM enables real-time collaboration, clash detection, and accurate documentation throughout the construction lifecycle, ensuring that as-built drawings reflect the most up-to-date information. In 2024, the integration of BIM into construction practices has revolutionized the creation and utilization of as-built drawings, enhancing their accuracy, accessibility, and utility.
Importance of As-Built Drawings in Construction Projects
1. Compliance and Regulation
In an increasingly regulated industry, adherence to building codes, zoning ordinances, and safety standards is non-negotiable. As-built drawings serve as a critical tool for verifying compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring that the constructed project aligns with approved plans and meets all necessary guidelines. By maintaining accurate as-built documentation, construction teams mitigate the risk of non-compliance penalties, project delays, and costly legal ramifications.
2. Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC)
Quality assurance and quality control are integral aspects of construction management, aimed at delivering projects that meet or exceed client expectations. As-built drawings play a pivotal role in the QA/QC process by facilitating thorough inspections, identifying deviations from design intent, and rectifying potential discrepancies promptly. By comparing as-built drawings against initial plans, construction teams can detect errors, discrepancies, or deficiencies early in the construction phase, minimizing rework and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, defect-free structures.
3. Project Documentation and Asset Management
Effective project documentation is essential for future maintenance, renovations, and facility management. As-built drawings serve as invaluable reference documents for property owners, facility managers, and maintenance personnel, providing detailed insights into the building's layout, infrastructure, and systems. In 2024, as-built drawings are not merely static documents but dynamic repositories of information, integrated with digital asset management systems, IoT sensors, and augmented reality (AR) technologies. This integration enables seamless asset tracking, predictive maintenance, and data-driven decision-making throughout the building's lifecycle, optimizing operational efficiency and prolonging asset lifespan.
4. Risk Mitigation and Dispute Resolution
Construction projects entail various risks, ranging from design errors and material shortages to unforeseen site conditions and contractor disputes. As-built drawings serve as crucial evidence in mitigating risks and resolving disputes by providing an accurate record of construction activities, timelines, and modifications. In the event of litigation or insurance claims, as-built drawings can substantiate claims, clarify responsibilities, and facilitate expedited resolutions, thereby safeguarding project stakeholders' interests and preserving professional reputations.
5. Continuity and Future Development
As-built drawings lay the foundation for future development, expansions, or renovations of existing structures. By documenting the as-constructed state of the building, including structural elements, utilities, and spatial configurations, these drawings enable seamless integration of new components or modifications without compromising the integrity of the original design. In an era of sustainable development and adaptive reuse, as-built drawings empower architects, engineers, and developers to make informed decisions, optimize resource utilisation, and minimize environmental impact, fostering a culture of innovation and responsible stewardship.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the importance of as-built drawings in construction projects cannot be overstated. In 2024, as the construction industry embraces digital transformation and cutting-edge technologies, the role of as-built drawings evolves from static documents to dynamic assets that drive efficiency, compliance, and long-term sustainability. By leveraging BIM, IoT, and AR technologies, construction professionals can harness the full potential of as-built drawings, unlocking new possibilities for collaboration, innovation, and value creation. As we navigate the complexities of modern construction, let us recognize the invaluable contribution of as-built drawings in shaping the built environment and shaping a future where precision and excellence are the cornerstones of construction excellence.

I kind of hate Japans city life. It’s such sacrilege to say on the American internet….but it somehow has all the cultural poisons of both the east and the west with a little bit of the benefits of both. Not even Japan really but like…the western influenced aspects 😭. There’s much to consider tbh. I think it would benefit from diversity, I hate the “nothing bad ever happens here” attitude, the politeness drives me crazy my neck hurts from bowing, the Americans here all act like they are in a chat room server where there’s no social consequences, I keep on running into teenagers in black face essentially and like passport bros. I don’t like how Tokyo is like 50 small cities which all kind of repeat eachother all next to eachother and how each neighborhood is built around a massive train station mall hybrid thing, contrary to popular belief, I don’t think people seem to be working ever but those who do, act like a gun is behind their head. I never cared about good customer service like as long as I’m not getting scammed. The biggest scammers can be the nicest people too so it’s not like I really have to chose. Yes there’s nice convenience stores, but there’s also no delis and sometimes it’s nice to have something in between a person kissing your ass and a cold machine to make your coffee for you. Like…Americans mock Indian street food all the time when that’s literally how I grew up eating food and it’s such a better and more universal way of getting food. It’s less common in Japan. The standing bars are my favorite. Actually I like Japan a lot, there so much variety but like the “default” Japanese city experience makes me want to fucking kill myself. It’s so convenient it’s a task if that makes any sense. Tbh if I had to live here for work, I’d live in izu on my wfh days/weekends and stay in like…meguro for when I had to go to office or if I had to stay there full time. I have ran into a lot of Brazilians randomly. The dating here also makes no sense bc it’s both fast and slow. Like it’s very much “let’s pretend to be in love and share this moment but if you want to get to know eachother that’s 6 months from now” when I think that tenderness is usually something that comes later in relationships in America idk. I think Okinawa needs to be forfeited to china, not even back to Japan like….i have a marginally informed polemic to back this I don’t want to get into.,on another note I feel like such a radical ccp spy here. Like being here really made me realize that I am much more at odds with the American vision than I realize, which ironically feels more like a socially acceptable intellectual movement to be apart of …within America, but so hard to get into and explain the context outside of America. I also have like met some really interesting Americans who just make me sad, especially this guy who was just losing his mind. I am so skeptical of any America who claims learning one the hardest languages to learn and going through this rigorous immigration process, accepting the mediocre salaries, and trying to fit into such a monoculture, is all worth it for the 7/11 sandwiches and stunning views. 😭😭😭😭It can be overwhelming how much the city has to offer and I love how you can be in virtually any climate in less then 3 hours and the culture of privacy and politeness is relaxing at times. But I also don’t mind American culture and the freedom of expression and not necessarily the dirtiness ….but like the lack of self conscious being a requirement. I really do think Americans are here for the new cold war on china and sexual conquest and like. At least in Vietnam, those Americans were told they were being drafted.

Shrimpmer!Reader
Floyd Leech X GN!Shrimpmer!Reader X Jade Leech
Warnings: Mild Violence, Brief Mentions of Accurate Shrimp Cleaning Methods (kind of gross)
I literally had written up a mini fic showcasing the tweels first meeting Shrimper!Reader… and lost it. Have no idea where it is. Searched through my drafts and got pissed, so just started over from scratch.
Can be read as platonic but with a lot of sus behavior ngl
The Basics (aka an Introduction to Shrimpmer!Reader)
Shrimpmer!Reader is a cleaner shrimp, a type of shrimp known for cleaning off parasites, algae, insects, and other bad stuff from fish. They’ve even been known to eat the mucus and infectious material around a fish’s wound to reduce infection and aid in healing. There are different species of cleaner shrimp, ‘scarlet skunk’ or ‘white-striped’ cleaner shrimps being known for cleaning the mouths of moral eels specifically.
Shrimpmer!Reader specifically comes from a family of cleaner shrimps that have a long-standing business partnership with the Leeches. Their family provides their cleaning and patch-up services to better the mereels’ health and heal any injuries, and in turn, the Leeches provide protection. It’s a mutualistic relationship where both benefit. And congrats, they were assigned to the tweels when they were but a mere fry and twins were still little elvers.
But what is it that Shrimpmer!Reader does exactly? Well, they have a cleaning station set up (i.e. a flat rock for the tweels to lay on while they work) and they go over the twins’ body, ridding it of any parasites and other debris. Picking at their scales and skin like a fine-tooth comb. They’ll even clean their sharp teeth using specialized brushes and tools to make sure nothing is stuck and strengthen the dentin (real shrimp physically go inside eel’s mouths, but shrimpmers are too big for that). Whenever the twins come to them with an injury after one of their scuffles, Shrimpmer!Reader will clean and disinfect the wound, being sure to remove any parasites, then wrap up the wound to heal faster.
In terms of anatomy and size difference, Shrimpmer!Reader is much smaller compared to the twins, but not on the same scale difference as real shrimps and moray eels. They’re not tiny enough to fit in their mouths but are small enough to be carried with ease. The best comparison I can give is like with the dwarves and Neige, but the tweels’ eel forms are much bigger compared to regular humans, so Shrimpmer!Reader would be shorter compared to a human as well. Floyd would joke about them being “child-sized.” Just like the Octatrio, their bottom half is that of a white-striped cleaner shrimp while the rest of their body has the matching miscolored skin, fin ears, and a pair of long, white antenna on the top of their head. No, their hands aren’t claws/pincers, but they do have sharp nails that aid in cleaning.
The Shrimp and the Eels Headcanons
Like mentioned above, Shrimpmer!Reader was assigned to Floyd and Jade back when they were all still children. Each new generation of Leech ends up being assigned a cleaner shrimp who are around the same age so that they can grow together and build a proper symbiotic bond. You just ended up unlucky ‘cause Mr. and Mrs. Leech had twins and you were the only available one in your family at the time. A two for one deal, as it were.
Rough first meet (the twins are asses even back then), but you eventually adjusted and they learned how much they actually enjoy getting all those nasties off of them. You were gentle and efficient, it was very soothing, almost therapeutic to them. But it was only after one particular cleaning where Floyd came to you, a week after he got into a fight, wound infected and riddled with parasites, that they fully realized just how much they needed you. Neither twin skipped a cleaning or wound treatment after that.
You are tiny and not built for fighting, so the twins are more than happy to do so for you!~ Some predator is stalking you, trying to get a taste? Floyd is already grabbing them by the tail, pulling them away from you and towards his own dangerously sharp jaws. Another merperson is bulling you, picking on your smaller size? Jade’s looming right behind, tail at the ready to squeeze the life out of them. Most of your patch-up work was from attending to their wounds sustained in fights defending you.
Floyd and Jade both have their tails wrapped around some poor, unfortunate soul who was pulling on your antenna. Jade is taunting the crying fry while Floyd is “playfully” biting their tail fins.
“Jade, Floyd, let them go already. You’re going to get in trouble…”
You do meet Azul later on, though never quite befriend him per say. His contracts made you uncomfortable and untrusting of his intentions. In turn, Azul was stiff and reserved around you on the account of the overly protective eels threatening to chew his tentacles off if he tried anything.
You’re not a student at NRC nor a student of RSA. Magic isn’t your forte (or your concern really), the tweels are. Which is why you do visit the schoolgrounds frequently, especially after the two (mainly Floyd) start complaining about “needing their shrimp.” They’re not even in their eel forms most of the time, but they do still get into fights and the nurse on staff isn’t good enough.
Congrats, you’re now the Leech’s designated Health Support Cleaner Shrimp, or whatever bullshit the twins pulled out of their tails when forcing requesting to Crowley that you be allowed to stay at Octavinelle! Double congrats, because you also work at Mostro Lounge as a janitor because you literally clean for a living!
In your human form, you are much shorter than most of the other students and you have two long cowlicks that resemble your antenna. You aren’t the biggest fan of this form, finding two legs to be difficult to navigate, especially since you kind of skipped the prep class. Floyd was impatient and claimed him and Jade would just teach you themselves. An unwise decision really.
I mean, you could also just request to have the potion adjusted so you can be taller too, I guess idk the twins aren’t going to tell you that.
You sometimes turn back into your merform with the tweels and swim together because you miss it. Floyd definitely missed curling his tail around his little shrimp and pinning you down with his much bigger size. He especially loves to flip you on your back and watch your little feetsies wiggle around in a panic.
Jade misses the cleanings more than anything else. Being a vice dormleader while also working at a lounge and doing schoolwork is stressful for one eel. So, being able to just relax and have you attend to him while he prattles on about mushrooms is absolute heaven. That’s not to say he doesn’t mess with you either. Jade will gladly use your height against you by putting your cleaning supplies on a higher shelf, so you’re forced to ask him for help, teasing you all the while.
No, you can’t clean anybody else, merfolk or otherwise. Only them. Azul almost lost a tentacle after suggesting such a thing when he noticed business was running slower.
You’re their cleaner shrimp, and they’re your eels. Anybody aware of the Leech’s influence know to back off lest they end up missing under mysterious circumstances.
Oh yeah, and the tweels, at some point, made it a habit to kiss you after you finished cleaning them under the guise of you “cleaning their teeth.” It’s become something so casual between you three now that when Azul caught sight of the twins and you locking lips, he nearly fell over at not realizing the three of you were (supposedly) an item.
#Twisted Wonderland#TWST#Floyd Leech X Reader#Jade Leech X Reader#GN!Reader#I had indented to add a section dedicated to reader dating the tweels but I got creatively burnt out at the end#maybe I'll post a part two at a later date

Rapid Fire Headcanons for Justice Lord J'onn x black!reader (Pt. 2):

Author's Note:
Wanted to do a part two for this. The first one was kinda well-received. If y'all would also just continue to leave comments, that'd great fuel for me to clear my drafts as well.
This is also based on what my friend @c-nstantine and I came up with.
Warning: NSFW. Justice Lord J'onn being a straight menace and Justice League J'onn having that dawg in him. Nobody under 18 allowed. 🔞
Lord J'onn now had everything he wanted: You and his child growing inside you
Every night in bed felt like a victory lap for him
He would always make you say his name, telling him how good he is
But he only cared about his pleasure
You were lucky if you finished
And if you didn't, Lord J'onn could simply use his powers and make you more...receptive to his touch
Lord J'onn also controlled what you wore
As his perfect little wife, your uniform was a black, blue and red dress that looked a lot like his (albeit maternity-sized to accommodate your growing bump)
And no more loose box braids
Classy braided updos only, "like a queen," Lord J'onn had said
You were only allowed to answer him with "Yes, my Lord" or "No, my Lord"
Yes, this also applies to the bedroom
One day, Lord J'onn approaches you and notifies you that he will be gone for a few days with the other Lords
When you ask J'onn where he's going, J'onn says that he's going to save some people
Answering in riddles was expected
Lord J'onn revealed very little about what he and the other Lords go up to
The last time you argued about that, J'onn told you to leave the delicate matters of state to his care before he shoved his hand up your skirt
The guards were used to their boss' 'public displays of affection' at all hours
Any time Lord J'onn was "in the mood," the guards would clear out so that he could have his wicked way with you
And because the Martian was a creature of habit, he always had you in his bed
"A good marriage is built in the bedroom," Mr. Terrific had said
(Lord J'onn always looked pleased when the he asked J'onn if the two of you were sexually active)
Lord Superman had no issue with it either
As long as Lord J'onn did his job, the Kryptonian didn't care what he did to you
Neither did Lord Wonder Woman, who went so far as to tell you the following if you complained:
"You are a Justice Lord's wife. Our service is to not only the country but the world. Look at the difference in his demeanor when he lies with you, when you ride him so completely that he has the gods-given honor of watching you finish. You have his heart and the rest of him. You make the most intimate parts of him throb with want. The least you can do for all of the luxury that you bask in because of his labor is service him."
You quickly understand why she and Lord Batman didn't pursue a relationship
When Lord J'onn returns, he seems oddly content
Knowing you wouldn't get the answer out of him, you follow Lord Batman into the chamber downstairs
Seeing exact counterparts of the Lord downstairs, dress in their old costumes and with Flash in tow, shocked you
"What the Hell did you do?!" You furiously snap at Lord Batman
"You shouldn't be here. If Lord Manhunter finds out-"
"Don't give me that! You went to an alternate universe, didn't you? That is another version of you in that fucking cage!"
Yes, the League watch you cuss Lord Batman out
"This is the safest place for them to be. We will fix their world for them and they will learn to be grateful."
"You sound just like him. I remember there was a time when you tried to help me."
"And that obviously didn't work, now did it?" Lord Batman snaps coldly, gesturing to your pregnant belly
You resist the urge to slap him as he was walks around you
"To be the Batman used to mean being a sumbol of justice, even when it was hard. I hope selling that priceless symbol to Superman for a few coins was worth it."
Lord Batman paused and the continued walking, leaving you behind to stare at the heroes
"Can you help us?" Flash asked
"I'm sorry," You say, holding your belly, "I can't. Only the Bat knows the codes to open these cages. I have to go before my...husband starts wondering where I am."
"Is it his?"
You stare at the alternate version of Martian Manhunter
"The child. Is it his?" J'onn asked
A beat of silence
"Yes."
"How?"
"How quickly a woman becomes a queen when a man decides he wants her. I didn't ask for this. He...chose me, had me whenever he wanted and when he was ready, gave me this," you said bitterly, holding your stomach.
A horrified look crossed J'onn's face
At least this Martian had the decency to feel bad
"I have to go," you say, rushing out of the room
Later, you are resting in your home
The good version of J'onn, in tow with the version of Wonder Woman that you wish you had, broke in
"We came to rescue you. Come," J'onn says.
"I can't. Your twin won't be happy. If I were you, I would get out of here."
"I have absolutely no fear of him. In fact, he should be scared of me after what he did to you. Now please, let us escort you to safety."
Lord J'onn didn't take your desertion well
As the League and the Lords fought toe to toe, the two Martians had a telepathic conversation
"So the Manhunter becomes a criminal. Pathetic," J'onn sneers
"I protect the world from criminals. I protect her."
"Protect her?! Do we lie to ourselves now?! You snatched her up and used her like a toy, put a child in her that she did not want...you broke her and remade her in your own image. And why? Because you were lonely?!"
"Don't pretend like you rescued her because you're so concerned for justice, J'onn. Tell me, did you save (Y/N) because it's the right thing to do? Or did you save her because the thought of having her under you gets you hard too?"
J'onn roared with rage, punching his Lord counterpart harder as he grew a pair of horns to hit him in the head
"I would never do what you did! I shall not harm her! I shall not oppress her! I shall love her and protect her. I shall be the man you couldn't."
Before he could deliver another blow, Luthor got his Lord counterpart with a de-power ray
"So...he can't get to me anymore?" You ask J'onn.
"No, my lady. He cannot. You are safe."
"But I...I have nobody to help me with this," you say, your voice breaking as you hold your belly.
J'onn grabs your hand, "That is not true."
Over the next month, you move to J'onn's universe and into the watchtower
Batman is more than accommodating, helping to examine you and make sure your pregnancy is going well
He even offers to pay for an abortion procedure if you don't wish to continue with the pregnancy
But you did, and J'onn was there every step of the way
Days turned into months
A standard Martian pregnancy took thirteen months, sometimes fourteen for a male fetus
J'onn always came by your room and made sure you are cared for, asking for nothing in return
If you wanted it, he would take care of it
He and Batman set you up with credentials so you could get a job at Gotham University
You were finally able to teach again!
And despite the trauma that J'onn's Justice Lord twin left you with, the Justice League version slowly became your closest ally
One night, after Flash convinced the League to have a movie night, you and J'onn were the last two on the couch
"I see why you humans fear aliens," J'onn muses as the two of you share a pack of Oreos and watch Men in Black, "You make us look terrifying."
"Okay, sir," You giggle, "I know most of y'all aren't giant cockroaches, but you gotta admit - Mr. Give Me a Sugar Water looks a little bit like Lex Luthor."
"He doesn't look a little bit like Lex Luthor," J'onn muses, making you raise an eyebrow, "He looks a lot like Lex Luthor."
The two of you burst out laughing, and the sound of J'onn's deep, chocolatey, baritone laughter thrums deep inside you
The violence of the movie drowned out as the two of you forgot about the world around you
Leaning forward, J'onn kisses you
Holy. Fucking. Shit.
The Martian kissed you like he was waking you up from a sleeping spell
He kissed you like he had fought a dragon for you and in a way, he had
With a gasp, you broke away
"I'm sorry," the Martian apologized, "That wasn't right, I-"
You interrupt him with a deeper kiss, the Oreos long forgotten as you slip onto his lap on the Justice League couch
"My room?" J'onn asks breathlessly
"Yes," You moan
Using his powers, J'onn protectively clutches you as he phases through the floor, and the two of you land gently on his bed
"You may ride me of you wish," J'onn says, eyeing you lustfully, "Cowgirl and side positions are best for pregnant women."
"Mmm looked that up?"
"Yes," J'onn moaned, kissing your neck and helping you out of your clothes
The sex with him was way better than with Lord J'onn
You moaned loudly as J'onn hit the spot inside you that you liked, and J'onn thanked H'Ronmeer for when you bit his neck
Who knew that the put-together Manhunter from Mars liked pain?
The next morning, you woke up in J'onn's arms, his cool, naked chest being the best morning greeting you could ever ask for
"So...I guess this means we're a thing now?" You ask, looking at him uncertainly.
"We are definitely a thing."
And J'onn reminds you in the monitor room, over the rail
In the watchtower hallway, against the wall
In the watchtower kitchen
Wonder Woman might have had a talk with him after she walked in on you both
J'onn may or may not have been wearing the whipped cream meant for her ice mocha off your pussy
"Ayyyyyyy MacDaddy Martian got a girl!" Flash cheers with the two of you finally tell the League
Hawkgirl slaps the speedster in the back of the head
"Ow!"
The League congratulates you two and Batman asks to speak to J'onn in private
"So, you and (Y/N)."
It was never a question with Bruce. Always fact.
"Yes," J'onn confirms
"And (Y/N) is pregnant."
"Yes."
"To his child."
"No. To mine."
Batman gave J'onn a quizzical look, "So when will you tell your son the truth?"
"I might never. Does the Dark Knight see an issue with that?"
"...Take it from me. Keeping secrets is the quickest way to destroy a relationship."
J'onn catches the forlorn look in the Bat's face as he watches you and Diana laugh
Perhaps your son being the child of the evil version of him was a problem
But you didn't have to solve it today
You no longer belonged to him
