Series I, Part XII
SCP-067 - The Artist’s Pen
I am reflecting now that, for a website that is ostensibly a horror website, a lot of the skips aren’t actually scary?
Like this one. It’s just a pen that takes you over and makes you write things, probably against your will. That’s a little scary, I suppose, but it also relinquishes control when it’s done, so it’s not like, super scary? I dunno. It certainly is weird, I’ll give it that.
7/10
SCP-068 - The Wire Figure
While I reject the idea that fiction needs to have a “point,” the fact that several skips don’t seem to have one is odd. Like, fine, it’s a weird little metal dude that makes more weird little metal dudes, then climbs into them like a Gundam, but like, to what end? It doesn’t necessarily need a purpose, I suppose, but the complete lack of one is baffling, especially because once it hits Gundam phase it just stops.
4/10
SCP-069 - The Second Chance
Oh I like this one.
So it takes on the appearance and memory of someone who died recently, and tries to get their life in order in case of another sudden death. It’s currently suicidal because it was told that the family of the real person it’s currently replicating knows the real one is dead. It’s great.
I like that this one, unlike 068, does seem to actually do something. And it’s sort of benevolent, if you squint. It’s a great idea all around.
9/10
SCP-070 - Iron Wings
I’ll admit to a bit of confusion on this one. Is the skip the dude, or is it the wings? Either way, I’m not really feeling this one.
4/10
SCP-071 - Degenerative Metamorphic Entity
I feel like the researcher note kills this one. On its own, the idea is creepy and weird (I especially like that the degenerative effect happens even if you “achieve auto-gratification through masturbation via use of media containing SCP-071”), and it makes sense why it’s a skip. The researcher note just takes it a step too far. It’s not enough that it’s a creepy sex monster/virus thing, no. We’ve gotta make sure we throw in some truly depraved D class personnel. Brings it down a few points, unfortunately.
5/10
SCP-072 - The Foot of the Bed
Oh hey it’s one of my deepest fears.
I like how this one is marked as “safe.” Presumably because, as long as no one sleeps in the bed and leaves their foot out, nothing will happen. And they’ve got the mattresses contained or destroyed, so it’s not going to happen accidentally. Still, hate it.
10/10

Final Fantasy Record Keeper Hecatoncheir Magicite Fight
Hecatoncheir is the 5-star earth Magicite boss in the Final Fantasy Record Keeper (FFRK) mobile game.Â
He takes reduced damage against magical and ninjutsu attacks and he’s weak to the wind element.
I decided to take a break from the Argent Odin or White Odin quest level 600 fight to try this one.Â
After all, 5-star Magicite fights should be way easier when compared to the Odin ones since they’re only quest level 400.
Besides, I also wanted to try building a physical wind team already. And, after getting my first Odin Magicite, wanted to test it out as well.
My team for the 5-star Hecatoncheir Magicite fight was:Â
Angeal Hewley from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
Limit Break Overstrike (LBO), Unleashed Wrath
Synchro Arcane Soul Break (SASB), White-Winged SOLDIER
Awakened Arcane Soul Break 2 (AASB2), Burden of Pride
Zack Fair from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VII
Chain Soul Break (CSB), Lucky Stars
SASB, Come Get It!
AASB2, Road to Heroism
Ultra Soul Break 2 (USB2), Lazy Mirage
Glint+ Soul Break 2 (G+2), Sonic Squat
Glint Soul Break (G), Storm Squat
Vaan from Final Fantasy XII
CSB, Wind of Liberation
AASB2, Luminescence
USB3, Calamitous Orb
USB1, Cruelest Azure
Unique Soul Break, Windburst
Elarra from Final Fantasy Record Keeper
USB2, Magika Orare
USB1, Magika Album
G+, Magika Amuletum
G, Magika Pius
Tyro from Final Fantasy Record Keeper Â
AASB, Fantasy Grimoire Vol. I
Arcane Overstrike Soul Break 3 (AOSB3), Triple Phase
USB4, Arbiter’s Tome
USB3, Divine Veil Grimoire
USB1, Warder’s Apocrypha
G, Purifying Grimoire
Burst Soul Break (BSB), Keeper’s Tome
Unique Soul Break 2, Sentinel’s Grimoire
Legend Materia Relic 1 (LMR1), Archival Secrets
Tyro served as my support and Wrath and Entrust bot. He may not be the best physical support out there but he’s the only one I’ve got so have to make do with him.
Vaan was here for his Chain Soul Break, but he can help deal damage via his AASB.Â
Angeal acted as my secondary DPS. He can also provide a damage reduction barrier via his Sync.Â
On a side note, I love the animation for Angeal’s AASB2 because it features Genesis Rhapsodos from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.Â
Currently, Genesis is my absolute, most favorite Final Fantasy VII (#ad) char. He’s the reason why I’m playing Final Fantasy Record Keeper.
Elarra served as my healer. Her USB1 provides high quick cast and Regenga. Her USB2 increases the critical hit damage of the party.Â
This combos very well with Tyro’s USB4 and AASB, both of which can increase the party’s critical hit chance.Â
Ah, I really wish I had Elarra’s AASB. Then I could have brought her to the White Odin fight instead of Lenna Charlotte Tycoon from Final Fantasy V.Â
Lenna’s a perfectly serviceable healer, especially since I have all of her non-Lensable relics but she can’t sing to debuff enemies and she has nothing like Elarra’s USB2.
Zack was my main DPS. I even made his Hero Ability, Rush Assault. He did very well. They all did. Even my Level 50 Odin Magicite whose entry and follow-ups always broke the damage cap.Â
The fight didn’t take that long to end. It was a stark contrast to how long and difficult the Argent Odin battle was. This one was way too easy compared to that.
In fact, it was so easy that I tried to auto it. I dropped Tyro since Wrath and Entrust was useless for auto fights.Â
Replaced him with Zidane Tribal from Final Fantasy IX. I only have Zidane’s AASB, Reverse Gaia, though. But that was fine for this fight. With just a few tweaks, was able to get the auto up and running and got the win again in no time.
Conclusion
So what about you? Have you tried any of the 5-star Magicite fights yet? What do you think about these quests? Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions by leaving a comment below or by reblogging or replying to this post.

Soundtrack Update
Tomorrow will bring another batch of soundtracks going onto eBay, for which I will make a post when they go up. For those of you looking to keep convenient track of these, here is a link to my seller page so you can see all of whatever I have up at any given time. The first batch of CDs still has a little over 4 days to go!
Some of you have asked questions. Questions are good! They show that I’m more interesting than annoying, mostly.
Do these soundtracks contain spinecards (obi)? Most of them do. Some may have been acquired without them or I may have misplaced them in the very early days of my collecting. If this is a deal-breaker, ask about any CD you need to.
Can you combine shipping? You sure can. I’ll be more than happy to send multiple CDs and charge only the total amount of shipping.
Is there a full list of all the soundtracks that will be auctioned? There is now. I have painstakingly written down the names of each of the soundtracks to be auctioned, 238 in total. It was a little less than I thought; some of them took up large space on the shelves and skewed my calculations. For the sake of your dashboard, the full list is under the cut.

I have been stupid pre-occupied with Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, because damn. Damn what a good remake game.
Let’s start at my absolute favorite thing: you can activate fast-mode travel. Meaning you can speed up the game to 2x or 4x speed, no problem. Why is this the best? Because at 4x speed, you can level grind or money grind into infinity with zero issue. It is truly incredible. I’ve never loved a change in mechanics so much. The original game was fairly slow and it’s a big game, so I had put aside a ton of time for this game. But turns out, I didn’t need to! I can move 4x as fast, and plow through things in no time at all!
But there is something that’s better in this game. Job system. Look, I love the final fantasy classes. I think it’s a concept they should always use. But you know what i like more than the class system? Sub-classes. Strap yourselves in for this Etrian Odyssey shit, because you get TWO classes! That’s right, two sets of licenses to unlock! And because you have classes, you’re encouraged - nay, required - to use different equipment. Gone are the days of me beating Gil Snapper at level 3 with a team using all Main Gauge and Green Beret for fastest moves and maximum dodge rate. Now you have to plan it out. This has led to me using different weapons on everyone, and being thrilled with the results. I’m so happy with everything about this implementation. Without everyone having the ability to spam Cura/Curaja, it turns out a lot of this game gets really hard! I’ve had more trouble with the marks in this game than I ever did in the base game, and don’t even get me started on the hidden espers and how badly they’re kicking my ass. It’s fantastic. I love having to actually plan for things now, in a way that isn’t just setting everyone up with the same “optimal” equipment and gambits.
Speaking of gambits, apparently Trial Mode exists, and is effectively a boss gauntlet where you have to beat every boss in the game, in sequence. The mode was allegedly designed to give players both the opportunity to use your best equipment that you only get after beating the hardest bosses, and also to create a challenge in which no one set of gambits will result in victory against all foes. Which is true. Imagine going from Behemoth King to Zodiark to Yiazmat to Omega Mk. XII. Those four have wildly different approaches. Especially Omega, who I don’t even think you can beat without one very specific strategy. Which...I just realized will be a LOT harder to pull off now that not everyone can spam Reverse... Hmm...
For anyone wondering, my current setup is:
Uhlan/Foebreaker Vaan Machinist/Time Battlemage Balthier Archer/Red Mage Fran Knight/Bushi Basch Monk/Black Mage Ashe White Mage/Shakiri Panelo
I’m pretty satisfied with them? I don’t have a whole lot of trouble adapting to the specific classes, but apparently it gets really tough in the end-game if you didn’t plan appropriately. I did do some research on good combos, and otherwise just kinda set things up to wing it. Apparently Archer/Red Mage allows for the most hard-hitting spell in the game, Knight/Bushi is supposed to be super strong and versatile enough to run Excalibur or Masamune depending on elemental weaknesses, White Mage/Shakiri can run a good shield and Main Gauge for massive evasion, Monk/Black Mage just gets +16 to attack and magic which is pretty significant. Uhlan/Foebreaker was one I kinda just ran with, and it turns out that Foebreaker gets all those necessary Debuff skills, so Vaan has a significant use! Machinist/Time Mage was kinda cobbled together based on having 3 Swiftness each, only to find out later that activated licenses like Swiftness on one grid auto-activate on the other, and the most you’ll ever have is 3. On the one hand, that’s fine. Cutting movement speed by 60% may be excessive. On the other, that also kinda sucks, and throws a lot of my planning off.
See, the license boards have certain areas away from the main grid, and the only way to get to them is to use the Espers. When you recruit them, they’ll show up on every board. Some will allow you to access extra licenses. For instance, Mateus allowed the Knight grid of Basch to open access to white magic spells. Pretty useful! But some of the ones I had pre-planned are no longer necessary. I initially wanted to use one on Fran to access +5 magic lore for her Archer setup, only to realize that activating them on the Red Mage board unlocked them on the Archer board as well, invalidating that entire plan, and crushing my dreams of doubling up on those lore nodes. A lot of the hidden licenses can be activated without espers, just by using the right alternate class. There are a few things that can’t be accessed otherwise, but what it basically boils down to is that espers...didn’t mean as much in accessing licenses as I thought. The only big one that will matter is the one that get Ashe access to heavy armors. Beyond that, there wasn’t much that made a significant difference that I have seen.
I’m currently around level 50, just finished the first fight against Dr. Cid, and can head to Giruvegan. I’m gonna go out of my way to do a bunch of hunts and esper collection, as well as a bit of Rare Game Hunting. But know this. I am having a ton of fun right now.

Quote
Acid rounds is a semi regular, irregular spot on TGAM for games we have beasted from start to finish. Richie: Oooh a spaceship, flying game that is a change of pace for you, what made you snap this one up? Cunzy11: Since Colony Wars and Rogue Squadron series ended back in the 1890s, it feels like there's been a drought of proper space 'em ups. Sure there's been variants on the theme like spreadsheet manager EVE Online, top down ships FTL, almost ships flight fighting in the new Battlefront but no real proper space games (Elite Dangerous, No Man's Sky, Kerbal Space Program?). I'd been lucky enough to catch the single tweet from Gamescom announcing that Everspace was coming to the Switch, got too excited and decided to pick up Manticore: Galaxy on Fire in the meantime. Richie: What sets this one apart from all the other sci-fi shootery games that swell the marketplace? Cunzy11: That it was out at the time. Seriously. It's extremely playable aside from one or two strangely difficult missions and it's pretty but it's not exactly an all encompassing Space Opera. It's the Quavers of available space combat simulators, a bit cheesy, it won't fill you up but takes you all of five seconds to eat and always on sale. One thing I liked is that there are a bunch of collectibles hidden around each level and round up those at a nice relaxed pace helped to make the most of each of the levels rather than just being a blurred backdrop to a series of good ol' fashioned spacedogging. Richie: Wikipedia states that: The manticore is a Persian legendary creature similar to the Egyptian sphinx that proliferated in western European medieval art as well. It has the head of a human, body of a lion and a tail of a scorpion. Can we expect insights in to the progression of this mythological beast across Europe and different ideals it has symbolised? Cunzy11: You know, one of the many ways I'm starting to feel decrepit is that I find it increasingly harder to work out if things are actually a sequel or just have a stupid title. Like is Shadow Hunters: The Mortal Instruments a sequel to anything? Is it the spinoff of a straight to Netflix film? What's going on with How To Train Your Dragon? Does that have it's own cinematic universe or something there seems to be lots of those nowadays? Fortunately anime keeps it straight forward with titles like Fate/Extra Last Core and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. I presume that Manticore Galaxy on Fire is a spinoff sequel to a mobile series with at least a canon pachinko game and a Korea only comic so the true meaning may be buried in the lore i am unaware of and frankly don't care too much for. Richie: I saw that this is a port of a mobile game, does this mean you like mobile games now? Cunzy11: Absolutely not. Also, I don't think it's fair to say this is a port as it has proper controls and only crashed three times whilst I was playing. Richie: Was it had to beast? or was it just pay to win? Cunzy11: There were a couple of oddly difficult missions but for the most part it was fairly straight forward. You unlock new weapons and ships with progression which can be levelled up. I'd just ploughed all my points into an especially chonky ship (the K'SSSHAR KA Vossk gunship if you care and yes those are incredibly cringey My First Sci-Fi Fanfictiontm names for space things) and it seemed to trivialise the back half of the game. Or you know, skills. Richie: I also heard the graphics were shoddy Cunzy11: I have a picture of an ugly giant hologram cowlady coming up soon.  Richie: Manticore has appeared in the Final Fantasy series for a long time, although mostly just as a palate swap of a chimera, why didn't we see this in Final Fantasy VII. Cunzy11: They are in less games than they aren't in, why are you being such a populist FFVII fangirl? I bet you call her Aerith too? Is your Twitter handle something to do with 7th Heaven? 7th HeavenLockheart87? We all know that [checks prompt card] Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings was the best one. Richie: What made you keep coming back to this one? the fact you had paid money for it, or did it really have some good original features? Cunzy11: The fact that there were some extras beyond just ploughing through the story and missions but not too many to make it feel like another 8 hour game padded out to 100 hours. The crew of the Manticore have all the charisma and gravitas of the team from NCIS: Southend and it's just pleasant spacing really.  Richie: So Deep Silver did this one, is it set in the same canon universe as Saints row, Persona or Dead Island? Cunzy11: Oh boy, the excellent website for this game really goes into depth about the shared Deep Silver Universe. Hours of fun. Richie: What would make this game better? Cunzy11: I feel there's a concession to playing a space sim on mobile which should have been changed for the Switch release. Criminally, your ship auto-levels out after a while meaning that it's difficult or impossible to truly zip around at any angle. And it's lacking a decent cockpit view which is just a capital offense on space sim. We all know that it's impossible to actually play a game like this in cockpit view but you have to have it available. Richie: If you were to sum this game up as a character in smash bros, excluding fox/wolf/falco etc. What would it be and why? Cunzy11: Manticore Galaxy on Fire is Peach, easy to play but ultimately soulless.  Richie: Why would normal people want to play it? Cunzy11: Ugly giant cowlady hologram?

Ladi Bada stopped by Nic Matteoni during practice with the Hazelwood Central Hawks on August 2, 2017
A preseason stop last week to check in with Hazelwood Central Hawks soccer, a member of the Suburban XII North Conference (with Hazelwood West, McCluer, McCluer North and Hazelwood East). The boys finished 10-6 last year, 3-1 in the Conference just behind Hazelwood West. Class 4 District 4 includes West and North as well as Pattonville, who were the District Champions in 2016 before falling to CBC in Sectionals.
The team returns a core of five key players from last season. Seniors Devin Matteoni and DJ Matteoni were All-Conference picks are joined by Justin McCoy and Kelly Grant as well as Junior Bailey Lallis. McCoy and DJ Matteoni will anchor the defense, Devin Matteoni will pull the strings in the middle while Kelly Grant will play in the middle and up top. Lallis is crafty winger that will be called on with Grant to provide scoring as the team lost their top two scorers in Jarame Crawford and Peter Gakuo (21 of 37 goals).

New in goal this year is Nic Matteoni, a sophomore who takes over for the graduated Jordan Hurt who is now at UMSL. Players who will be counted on to take on new responsibilities this season include Senior Jerred Wooten who will get time in the defense or midfield and Junior Caleb McClinton on the wing. Given the loss in scoring, several players will get opportunities to make a difference including Mahandad Mahmoud, Deebo Bada, Ladi Bada and Trey Ester (a freshman).
Head Coach Jeff Facchin returns for his second season at the helm, only the third coach in the programs history after Pat Rocco stepped down in 2015 to concentrate on the girls program and have more time for his growing family. Facchin is assisted by Claire Lovercheck, the Class 3 goalkeeper of the Year as a senior at Hazelwood Central in 2008 when she helped lead the team to Fourth place in Class 3, before moving onto to play for SIU Edwardsville. She was also a member of the U15 St. Louis Busch SC National Championship team in 2005. She’s been assisting the program for a number of years while teaching in the Francis Howell school district.
Facchin spent 2006-10 as an assistant with the team, returning in 2013-15 before taking over the Head Coaching position. He was a 1997 State Champion with DeSmet and played college soccer at Rockhurst & UMSL.
