Just adding this on here bc I just saw @patcaps post about the finale here, and I think he put it much better than I ever could lol, but I agree that it is really mostly about the pacing. I'm not upset that they left, in fact I'm pretty happy with that decision (as much as I love the idea of the Mia (and potentially other kids) growing up with the ghosts). It makes sense to me that having so many ghosts around when only Alison can see them would make raising kids 100x harder, and Alison and Mike deserve to be able to raise their family in a space that isn't stressful enough on its own.

I've been saying since the very first Christmas episode that they should be 45mins-1hour long, just to give them more breathing room for holiday hijinks etc. And while it was more of a lighthearted jab bc I wanted longer episodes, I genuinely think an extra 15 minutes would have made a massive difference in this case.

Either way, like I said I still enjoyed it, but I agree that it's the pacing that really let it down imo

Personally idk how to feel. I understand the decision to leave and raise their family in a more 'normal' environment, but I agree with a lot of people in the tags that they were way too quick to decide to leave.

I also saw someone mention that they had to leave bc it's the finale and it's symbolic of the show ending etc and I get that too. If it was up to me (and feel free to disagree with me), I think it would have been better if there was more of the episode dedicated to making the decision. Going back and forth between not wanting to leave the ghosts behind and what will be healtiest for the baby and the Cooper's growing family. Obviously this would be pretty similar to s5e6 but it's the only thing I can think. Maybe Alison could have had a moment after the exorcism where it goes through her mind that maybe it's for the best that they're gone (as horrible as that is; of course she wouldn't really want them to all be gone, but it's that rationalisation that puts the thought in her head that the ghosts might be bad for her future family life).

Idk, I still enjoyed the episode and it still made me cry (which is difficult to do lmao), but it just felt a bit off, and I can tell in the tag that opinions are pretty split about it.

so to me specifically being a non sam aro started as a way to prioritize my aromantic identity over my asexual one bc 1 between the two it's the one that impacted me most and 2 some people have this annoying little habit of leaving out the aromantic bit when they talk about aroaces. and like. I did not give a shit about being asexual, it didn't matter to me, but aromantic? ohohoho being aromantic was so freeing and cool etc etc idk what to say like I vibed with being aro in a way that I didn't with being ace so I just. stopped being ace.

after that though I started questioning the whole asexual thing bc even if I didn't ID with the label I still used it to make my life easier (didn't wanna give a 30 minute ted talk to everyone that asked my orientation). so it was still in my head a bit. and then eventually I realized that it doesn't matter if I might be feeling sexual attraction because I'm not claiming to be asexual in the first place. and even if it turns out to be sexual attraction, there's nothing romantic going on, I'm still aro!!! so the non sam label kinda morphed into that for me.

A few awkward moments of staring at each other ensue, until you lifted the bag slightly

"you... Hungry..?" You ask unsurely, he's still staring at you, taken off guard by your question, usually, people would've run away, and he either decides if he wants to chase them or leave the be

He shook his head, but HEY WHAT A COINCIDENCE his stomach rumbled right on cue

You just deadpanned up at him "yes you are, don't lie to me." Then walked up to him

He was still stunned in his seat, questioning whether you were stupid or brave to talk to him in such a way, but before he could even finish his thoughts, you offered a hot dog to him- where did that come from??- oh.. yeah.. the- the bag-

"here, take it." You said, he hissed lightly, inching away from the food, but his stomach rumbled again, he was- actually pretty hungry- after a few minutes, he actually took it

It was pretty tiny on his hand but it should at least be just enough until he goes back to the agency

He grunted a thank you and kept sitting there, you- surprisingly to him -sat in front of him "no worries" you said, ".... So- what'cha doing over here?"

You both made small talk for a while, and he actually found himself quite entertained with you, you were a great person just to talk to, who would listen to what he could say or read what he could write and give your honest opinion, and he appreciates that!

So ensue him sneaking out of the agency multiple times just to talk to you

He says he's a complex individual and you are the only person who will actually listen to him... In reality its something deeper, he's falling for you, he doesn't know it yet but he'll get it eventually

Though some of the agents and ATPs are getting suspicious of how he just vanishes sometimes, especially when they need him, he's threatened to kill anyone who dared report his vanishes to the Auditor, another thing he's glad to be scary about

And I'm sorry but he won't realize his feelings in time, you'll have to confess first-

And once you do, he finally realizes what he feels for you and reciprocates the feelings

Ensue his outings are longer and way more often bc you and him are now constantly meeting and cuddling

He swears he's never had the most comfort ever in his life

You're the best thing that has happened to him!!

And he'll protect you until the end of his life, you know he's a man of word

Auditor probably knows after putting a tracker on him due to the number of his outings, but he won't interfere, your influence has actually been making him a lot easier to work with unless you try to fuck with his cause or influence him into leaving the agency you won't be hunted <3
