the new Transformers Cyberworld web cartoon premiered today

think it would be fun to try to do a little review on each episode as they come out since they're rather short

here are some thoughts on the first episode: Optimus Prime Crash Lands on Cyberworld

it's cute

i don't quite understand how Optimus and Bee got to this world, but i kinda like that the format seems to be the equivalent to a video game, where the more you level up the more energon you obtain

and if Megatron's (or MegaBull as i'm gonna be referring him as because why not?) actions are anything to show, it seems that whenever you lose these little "mini games" you seem to lose some power too. his words to Bee that "only the strong survive" imply that the more skilled in the game you are, the more likely you are to not die

time will tell if this is actually how the world works though; i could be speculating on the darker side of things because video game type settings typically do the whole, "if you lose you DIE" plot

i can't really form an opinion on characterization just yet since it's literally the first episode, but i think so far the characters we've seen are handled fine. Optimus made me giggle a few times with his lines

though i gotta be real fam, i HATE that they put his front wheel on his arms. it distracts me too much. if you want his wheels as kibble why not put them on the back??? i have so many Optimus Prime toys that prove you can do this!

also i guess Grimlock doesn't really exist in Optimus's own dimension of Cybertron because he definitely didn't know the guy when he came across him. i don't know how much worldbuilding this little series plans to do, but i'm gonna go out on a limb here that we're doing some multiverse shit (which Hasbro probably already confirmed, idk i don't pay attention...)

anyway, i don't expect this series to be the most groundbreaking, but i do hope it will be along the lines of fun like Cyberverse was. crossing my fingers that Boatlita appears next week!

gonna try and keep this up as a thing so here's my review of Transformers Cyberworld episode 3: Optimus Prime Fights Grimlock in Extraction Mission

bruh why these titles gotta be so long and specific

the episodes are already short enough, we don't need you to give away the entire damn thing with just the title alone smh

i'm kinda pissed that this video is 10 minutes only for the actual new episode to be the first 5 minutes before it goes into the previous episode

like...Hasbro this isn't regular tv, this shit is on YOUTUBE, the kids can just go to your channel and find the previous episode, what is the point of this??

anyways, nothing too extravagant in this episode; just Optimus and Bee exploring this new world and more of the videogame-esque mechanics being showcased. this time it's an upgrade kit, which gives Bee a blaster and OP his axe

they also fight over the kit with Grimlock and Snarl, who we're formally introduced to, and ngl i'm happy to see him. Snarl doesn't get a whole lot of love in expanded media so it's nice to see him have some spotlight in this cartoon

ALSO I JUST REALIZED GRIMLOCK IS FUCKING RUSSIAN IN THIS CONTINUITY AND I ACTUALLY REALLY LOVE IT????

big highlight for me though is the dynamic between OP and Bee. Dadimus out here scolding his Bee son for being reckless and telling him not to throw things before proceeding to throw his axe ("Do as I say, not as I do" LMAOOOO)

overall a cute episode, but i'm REALLY hoping we see Elita soon! GIVE ME BOATLITA HASBRO
