Oak & Ash & Thorn — feels like a drinking song, something to be sung during ForestClan’s gatherings, to tell the story of the other clans (referring to them as different trees, as that is ForestClan’s thing and would be a good metaphor for the kits to use as a reference)

Mary Did You Know? — all about Shiverpaw, how she is the vessel for us, a being who might have the slimmest chance of saving them all. But we can’t take all the credit. The shivering light is a beacon of its own.

Meet Me In The Woods — Rootgrove’s theme song. Seriously just look at the lyrics, it’s scarily accurate.

Gilded Lilies — Redstar and her continual struggle to sacrifice herself, how it’s never enough to stop the death.

Youth — Hopechase, maybe and/or Iciclepool, thinking about the past, during or before Lakestar’s reign. I can’t articulate this one well but it just works.

White Winter Hymnal — I think it works with the younger members of the clan, Windfur, Talontooth, Morningpaw, Shiverpaw. The feeling of loss is new to them, new as their own lives. They don’t know what it’s like without it, but they aren’t equipped yet to handle it either.

The Moon Will Sing — Iciclepool, and her bitterness around the loss of her family.

The Woods — Shiverpaw learning about the woods, lots of emphasis on Rootgrove and the Audience. This song brings the half-moon scene to mind in particular.

A Sadness Runs Through Him — Barleywave. He tries so hard but nothing ever goes right for him and I feel bad.

Dog Days are Over — Cloudthunder, an adventurous cat who was struck at once with consequences far too high.

The Consequence of Imagination is Fear — the pov of the Audience would work well with this I think. It was imagination that brought the story to life, and for those within it, the consequence of it is fear.

World Ender — another Rootgrove song. “They put me in the ground but I’m back from the dead” you sure are buddy.

Eat Your Young — ForestClan under Lakestar’s rule, sacrificing apprentices for the sake of the rest. There’s guilt, sure, but relief too. It is safer for everyone else.

Rule #9 - Child of the Stars — the Audience, as well as StarClan, talking to Shiverpaw, encouraging her to be brave, be good.

Something Ain’t Right; Shut Eye; Woodland; The Garden; The Angry River — just overall ForestClan vibes, not a specific character or scene. Lots of fear, confusion, desolation, some are actual instructions.

Sweet Hibiscus Tea — Morningpaw and her fear of the woods, her feelings of helplessness as the world slowly turns to ash.

Putting the Dog to Sleep — another Rootgrove one. Some of it feels like Rootgrove talking to specifically the Audience.

Garden Jargon — kind of an unnerving one, feels like gradual corruption. You know who else got gradually corrupted-

The Hymn of Acxiom — actually the inspiration behind the drawing of Shiverpaw and the Audience. This is definitely the Audience, encouraging, kind, saviour complex. “Now we possess you.”

Overcome — the first verse is the audience speaking to/narrating for Rootgrove, probably freshly possessed. The next section (1:00) is the Audience talking to Shiverpaw. After that (1:50) is Shiverpaw talking to Rootgrove.

Spring and a Storm — Chicoryglint singing to Windpaw, especially the “Mr Moon” part.

Treehouse — I think this would be a cute Talontooth and Morningpaw song.

Bruno is Orange — Olive and her anxiety about the woods and carrying kits. Most of it would be pre-ForestClan, and the last chorus where it’s most chaotic is the scene where she gives birth, where Warblerkit sacrifices himself in a futile attempt to save Pebblekit.

Rät — kind of a shot in the dark, but this has Tree backstory vibes to me. I’m curious to know more about their past.

Vienna (In Memoriam) — I see Icypaw here, comforting the souls of the kits that are lost to the living tendrils.

Body Terror Song — yeah it’s Rootgrove again.

The Night We Met — a Lord Huron song that isn’t Rootgrove? Wow! No this is Barleywave and his guilt about his family.

Sleep — Lakestar, determined to do whatever it takes to protect the clan, knowing they’re a monster but believing it’s right, necessary. “Three cheers for tyranny, unapologetic apathy.”

Brave as a Noun — Windfur!! Definitely his theme song.

Reverence for Fallen Trees; Hungover in the City of Dust; Willow Tree March; Does the Swallow Dream of Flying; the Moss; the Last of the Honey Bees; in the Woods Somewhere — ForestClan vibes again.

I love Patroclus and Pyrrhus' dynamic in my modern au

Brief and simplified Story Timeline under the cut!

Early childhood

Patroclus acted out a lot as a kid, especially after his mother's death. An accident in the playground caused another kid's death, but Patroclus was declared innocent thanks to eye witnesses (Pat still believes it's his fault)

Patroclus was in foster care after Menoetius got convicted for child neglect, he was 10.

Peleus took him in and Achilles immediately became so attached to him

Patroclus is so scared of Thetis and he feels indebted to Peleus

Achilles is a nepo baby!! Peleus and especially Thetis are so influential

Boarding School era

When Thetis noticed that Achilles seemed very dependent on Patroclus, she came up with the idea of separating them (she wants her son to be more independent)

Achilles was about to be sent to a boarding school when he's 13

Patroclus managed to sneak into the train with him and ended up going to the same school

Patroclus and Achilles began secretly dating when they're 15

Deidamia

Lycomedes and Thetis thought it'd be nice to get Achilles and Deidamia to know each other

Achilles began seeing Deidamia when they're 16 and asked Patroclus if he could date her as well

Patroclus (reluctantly) agreed because Achilles promised that nothing would change between them

Deidamia is in the girls' dorm, so Achilles used to dress up as a girl to sneak into her room.

Being the dumb irresponsible teenagers they are, Deidamia got pregnant

Achilles told Patroclus that Deidamia wanted to keep the baby and that they're gonna send the baby over to Thetis while they're in school

When Achilles told Patroclus, Patroclus lashed out and refused to talk to Achilles for. 12 hours. (The longest they've gone without talking)

For a brief moment Thetis blamed Patroclus for not paying enough attention to Achilles, believing that he was trying to ruin her son's name and reputation

This entire situation was hell for Patroclus. He thought he had lost both his foster family and his Achilles.

Baby Pyrrhus

Achilles and Deidamia thought it'd be funny to name the baby after Pyrrha

Deidamia and Achilles aren't married yet, but Deidamia spends her school break at Achilles' house to spend time with their son

The moment Achilles graduated from school when he's 18, Peleus got him a deal to be an intern at Agamemnon's company overseas. Achilles said he would only go if Patroclus comes with him

Deidamia got full custody of Pyrrhus because he's only 2 and can't possibly be passed around between her and Achilles if he moves overseas, though she now lives with Peleus and Thetis

Achilles and Deidamia broke up because they can't handle a long distance relationship, but they stayed friends

Troy

Achilles and Patroclus stayed in Turkey for years and would only fly back home once or twice. He kept in touch with Pyrrhus from video calls which didn't happen often

Achilles began getting custody for Pyrrhus when he was 12, where he would fly to Turkey on school breaks

Achilles isn't used to having Pyrrhus around, so he left all the parenting stuff to Patroclus

Achilles would occasionally bring Pyrrhus to work too when they don't have anyone to watch over him at home

Pyrrhus is mad at Patroclus because he thought he's the reason Achilles left him and his mother

He also hates that Achilles is a lot closer to Patroclus and would rather spend time with him than Pyrrhus

but also lately sandy. i’ve been toying with this idea right and. okay walk with me here. what if she didn’t cheat. like we know soda is love boy number one, but me thinks sandy loved soda just as much. soda already planned on marrying her i can’t imagine they hadn’t talked about their future, so im thinking they weren’t as careful as they could have been and she got pregnant. but when her parents found out they sent her to florida (? is that right? it’s out there that’s all i recall) and somewhere in her hormonal mind was frightened that soda would change his mind abt wanting to be a dad after everything that happened and she thinks she’s saving herself the grief by lying and saying she cheated. because this way she doesn’t have to hear the disgust/anger in soda’s voice

Yesterday I saw Malmö Operas production of tick, tick...BOOM! I am still on a high. It's such a brilliant production with a fantastic cast and band.

I was drawn into the story right from the start. Having Jon going out into the audience and handing out flyers beforehand was a great move.

Jonas Brehmer as Jon, Erik Espinoza as Michael and Åsa Sjöblom as Susan were all amazing. Every single one of them gave it their all. You could tell they really felt the story and the music. There was so much passion in their performances and the chemistry between them was just perfect.

The scenography and lighting was simple, but so effectful and it worked perfectly for this production. The combination of them both created so many beautiful moments.

The direction, costumes and choreography really deserves praise. Everything felt so real and organic.

'Why' brought me to tears. Every song was sung with so much emotion, but 'Why' was just out of this world.

Oh, Jonas Brehmer walked past me, stopped, looked at me and handed me a flyer. It happend to a lot of people in the audience, so it was far from just me. But it felt special and I got a bit starstruck.
