Ok Buddy. Sure. Technically, you got me. In the most stupidly reductive way possible, NITW is a game where you play a role, and make choices in it.

But if you aren’t a fool. You know that trying to distill a genre down that far is never useful.

Especially in this circumstance where all the other examples include turn based combat.

NITW is not an rpg in the sense that OFF, Undertale and Lisa are RPGs.

ahh thank you for answering my questions! 1. I'm glad that bne jimin is not breaking his ex-fiancee's heart and they can both hopefully be happy. I hope jimin's parents like the oc--she seems like she'd be clumsy/unsophisticated to them at first but lovable. 2. AKTSAL is my hands-down favorite story from you. your other stories are also great, but as I said in a much older ask, AKSTAL hits all the buttons of angst to happy ending (cont.)

1) As much as I love the fake dating trope and a bit of love triangle drama it always lowkey breaks my heart when the third corner of a love triangle doesn’t get a happy ending. Like they go through all the pain and angst of unrequited love and then people don’t even give them the dignity of at least getting closure :( :( . So it would make me too sad for the ex-fiancee to end up sad and alone just because a random actress broke into her fiancee’s mansion.  So she definitely gets a happy ending- I like to think the person she is in love with is a simple, down-to-earth kinda guy and she trades being an heiress for just a happy, wholesome kind of life, where she has lots of kids and is a super great mum. As for OC, well I’d say you’ve hit the nail on the head! I think when writing her I had this image in my head of her being super shallow, a bit dim and constantly misunderstood and underestimated, but under all of that she’s genuinely a person with a really huge heart and I think that’s what Jimin sees in her and what anyone forced to get to know her would eventually realise. So there’d be a lot of really embarassing shenanigans that the parents can’t stand like her showing up to a really classy event in totally the wrong attire or her saying something really stupid on live TV but eventually her heart and her genuineness would win them over.

2) I actually remember you!! You came into my inbox and said you loved AKTSAL and I was really excited cause it doesn’t tend to get a lot of love!! Ahhh to think you’re still here reading my fics. That makes me so happy!! Man, it’s like reuniting with an old friend!! To think, this whole time my old pal bne anon has been around, cheering me on, enjoying my fics. You’re the best <3

3) You aren’t bothering me with the questions. I’m actually having a lot of fun answering them! 

There probably would be people wanting to drag them back in. Especially Yoongi because he’s the best of the best. But Jin would have handed over to his second in command, Namjoon, who loves and respects Jin and so anyone proposing Jin be targeted would have to answer directly to the new mafia lord, if they could somehow get past Yoongi. Especially because Namjoon knows why Jin left- the woman that Jin was in love with was brutally murdered in front of him, and it was the wake up call that Jin did not want to live this life anymore. Maybe some of the younger, lower down grunts think that if they get at Jin, it’s a chance to boost themselves up, but they quickly get taken care of by their colleagues. Jin as a mafia lord would have been as kind as the head of a crime ring could be- forgiving, supportive to his grunts, and often getting them out of trouble, so most of them love him and would never intentionally bring him harm. And as you can see from the way Jin fairly quickly picks up that the OC isn’t there for his cupcakes, he’s used to unwanted visitors from his past life. He just also takes care of them quite efficiently, especially with Yoongi having his back. But the person who shot at him wasn’t actually after Jin- they were after OC, who, thanks to the USB her father gave her, has vital information on an operation worth billions of dollars and heads will roll if she figures it out and goes to the police. Jin just got caught in the crossfire.

And OC and Jin may have met when she was a child. I don’t exactly make this clear in the drabble (originally I had a line where Jin called the OC ‘kid’ but I took it out) but there’s actually a fairly big age gap- I imagine Jin being early 30s, so 31 or 32 and the OC would probably be early 20s, so like 22-ish? So maybe he saw her as a young child, but he would have been in his teens and too busy doing his own thing to take notice of her, yaknow? 

And Yoongi’s pastries are decent. Admittedly he’s only in it because this is what his boss wanted to do when he retired, and he does what his boss requests because he owes his life to him. He mostly just follows Jin’s instructions though- Jin’s the real baking genius. Anything sweet is Jin’s specialty and his passion. Yoongi’s getting quite good at it though- he even succeeded at a perfect icing flower for the first time the day before the OC showed up. Jin’s a little critical because he feels threatened by Yoongi’s growing skill, but Yoongi likes baking more than shooting people, that’s for sure.

I can but I will not. If you don’t think you can manage seeing that sort of thing on your dashboard, then I would prefer that you unfollow me instead. 

I hold myself to a standard that I know not all people can healthily engage with  when it comes to political issues, so I am more than prepared for potential follower loss because of it. 

I have control over this blog, and I’m uncomfortable handing over more of it to someone who’s motives I can’t know. I’m fully aware that you are probably just trying to protect yourself, but there are likely others who don’t need that safe space as much, and I strongly prefer to disallow those people to bury their heads in the sand at my expense, small though it may be. 

This comes at the cost of making an environment that can, at times, be hostile toward the more sensitive user, but. That is a sacrifice I am willing to make.

hi! how were you able to change the dialogue in celeste, if you dont mind me asking?

Ah! I don’t mind at all. It was pretty simple, and frankly being able to do it at all really surprised me.

 So basically its going to vary depending on where you bought the game from. I bought it on steam, so it’s pretty familiar to anyone who’s ever modded a steam game before.

You’ll start like you always do by opening up your local disk and from there following this path (assuming you installed steam the normal way): program files (x86 for me b/c architecture) >Steam>steamapps>common>Celeste. 

This will get you to Celeste’s game files. Almost all of witch you can’t do anything with unless you have actual game dev tools. Almost all of the image resources are exported as either .bin .xnb or .data files and so are unmodifiable by someone like me.

either way, once you’re in the celeste folder from there you navigate to >content>dialogue and then you should be confronted with a bunch of .txt files and two folders. From here you’ll want to pick the txt with the language you want to change. (probably English.txt) After you open that up with your plain text editor of choice you can go about re-writing the lines and changing what portraits show up with what dialouge. 

I’m not going to get into the nitty gritty of actually doing so in this post, because a lot of it is neatly laid out for you by Matt himself! The english file has tons of commented out lines basically explaining the basics of how the actual lines are formatted.

as for changing what portraits show up, all you have to do is figure out what internal names refer to what on-screen image, essentially what I was doing in my video. As long as you stick to the tabbing and spacing of the txt file everything should work as expected, though your mileage will vary! as the video I posted a while back showed, some things may not work when you try and run the game. Also, as with all modding, back up your vanilla files! fuckin with this stuff could have adverse consequences.

Both B-knee and Bee Enn Eee are acceptable. whether or not you attempt to pronounce it as a word or just as initials is up to you.

basically, append the b sound to the front of the word knee and you’ve got it.
