a whole adult being obsessively invested in someone they don't even like's every move is not only disturbing and unemployed behaviour to me for obvious reasons but it's also such an extremely miserable life to lead when you think about it.

You can say that for the other side too. There are decade old blogs here which has hated Kate first for being a commoner, then accused her of faking HG and now they use Meghan as a stick to beat her with, spinning weaves of conspiracy around her life including her health issues. Both sides do the same thing and obsessively dissect every action of the person they claim is irrelevant. They are two sides of the same coin.

First: I mean, nowhere in my post did I mention Meghan explicitly, so I thought it was a given that it goes for all types of obsessive parasocial behaviours. It's clearly not indicative of a healthy psyche regardless of who the behaviour is aimed at. And as someone who's very familiar with Royal Dish, it's really not necessary to point out to me that it doesn't just happen to Meghan.

With that said, can you honestly name someone who's systematically made their hatred of Kate their entire personality for more than a decade without clearly being viewed as someone with mental issues?

(And I'm not talking someone otherwise going about their online presence as usual but making the occasional joke about Kate being lazy or mocking the photoshop disaster class here. If you think that falls into the same category as obsessively following and dissecting someone's every move only to spew hateful shit about them online, then we're clearly not referring to the same behaviour.)

Because while there are people in this fandom on this platform with a disturbingly large following for someone with displaying a deeply unstable behaviour who do that with Meghan, I somehow doubt you can show me someone who does that with Kate. But I'll reserve judgement if you can prove me wrong.

Second: I don't think I fully understand the point you're making? As said above, I deliberately didn't mention Meghan by name in my post so you're the one reading it and deducing that the post only applies to people being unhinged about her.

To me—and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong—your response reads as an excuse for this unhinged behaviour regarding Meghan. And that excuse has been a dog whistle of Meghan antis since 2016. "People have been mean to Kate, so actually we're allowed to be mean to Meghan." Needless to say, if that kind of kindergarten logic applies to you, you're not particularly well-functioning mentally either.

At the end of the day, you only have control over your own behaviour. And I simply cannot comprehend how you function in the real world if your emotional maturity doesn't rise above behaving unhinged towards someone because others are behaving unhinged towards your fav?
