Countries Where CBD is Legal
Tumblr media
Cannabidiol, commonly known as CBD, is a compound derived from the cannabis plant. It has gained significant popularity in recent years due to its potential therapeutic benefits. However, the legality of CBD varies widely around the world, with some countries embracing its use while others continue to enforce stringent prohibitions.
CBD Legality in North and South America
In North America, both Canada and Mexico have legalised CBD, albeit with certain restrictions. In Canada, CBD is treated like any other prescription drug, regulated under the Cannabis Act. The permitted THC content in CBD products cannot exceed 0.3%, and the hemp must be industrial grade. Mexico, on the other hand, allows the sale and consumption of CBD products with less than 1% THC.
In South America, countries like Brazil, Chile, and Peru have also legalized CBD. Brazil, for instance, has permitted the use of CBD for medical purposes since 2015, while Chile allows the cultivation of cannabis for personal use, including CBD extraction. Peru has a more liberal approach, allowing CBD with less than 1% THC without a prescription.
CBD Legality in Africa, Asia, and Oceania
South Africa is one of the few African countries where CBD is legal. The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority has classified CBD as a Schedule 4 substance, meaning it can be sold legally if it contains a maximum daily dose of 20mg CBD with an explicit health claim.
In Asia, Thailand has recently become a front-runner in CBD legalization. The country amended its Narcotics Act in 2020, removing low-THC cannabis and hemp extracts from its list of controlled substances.
Australia, in the Oceania region, has also legalized CBD but requires a prescription for its purchase. The Therapeutic Goods Administration down-scheduled CBD, allowing pharmacists to sell low-dose CBD products over the counter.
Countries Where CBD is Illegal or Restricted
Tumblr media
Despite the global shift towards acceptance, there are countries where CBD remains illegal or heavily restricted. These prohibitions stem from the historical stigma associated with cannabis and concerns over potential misuse.
CBD Prohibitions in Europe and Asia
In Europe, Albania and Serbia stand out as countries maintaining a complete ban on CBD products. The laws in these countries classify all cannabis derivatives, including CBD, as illegal substances.
In Asia, Singapore and Russia have similar prohibitions. Singapore has some of the strictest drug laws in the world, with severe penalties for violations. Russia also bans CBD, classifying it as a narcotic substance.
Ambiguous Legal Status of CBD
In some countries, the legal status of CBD remains ambiguous or the restrictions are so stringent that they effectively act as a prohibition. Belize is one such country where CBD oil is legal, but its importation is prohibited. This paradoxical situation creates uncertainty for users and potential legal risks for those unaware of the specifics of the law.
International Travel with CBD: Special Requirements
Tumblr media
The varying legal statuses of CBD worldwide make international travel with CBD products a complex issue. It's essential to familiarise oneself with the specific requirements of each destination country.
When planning to travel with CBD, it's crucial to check with your flight provider and local authorities regarding their regulations. Some countries may require documentation like a prescription or a certificate of analysis showing the THC content. Others might not allow CBD on flights at all.
Conclusion
In conclusion, while the acceptance and legalisation of CBD are growing globally, it's far from uniform. Each country has its unique set of laws and regulations, shaped by cultural, societal, and political factors. Therefore, it's crucial for consumers and travellers to stay informed about the legal landscape of CBD in their respective regions and destinations.

On May 28th, the FDA has submitted a document titled "Cannabis and Cannabis-Derived Compounds: Quality Considerations for Clinical Research; Draft Guidance for Industry; Availability" to the Office of Management and Budget. The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) serves the President of the United States in overseeing the implementation of his vision across the Executive Branch. The OMB prepares the President's budget proposal to Congress and supervises the administration of the executive branch agencies. The OMB evaluates the effectiveness of agency programs, policies, and procedures to assess competing funding demands among agencies and set funding priorities. According to the FDA, the Office of Management (OM) provides exceptional customer service, guidance, and education on resource and administrative management activities to protect human and animal health. One has to wonder if this is the proposed budget for the upcoming FDA regulations on CBD. What do you think?  Meticulous Research®—a leading global market research company, published a research report titled ‘CBD-infused Products Market—Global Opportunity Analysis and Industry Forecast (2025-2032)’. According to this latest publication, the CBD-infused products market is expected to reach $291.39 billion by 2032, at a CAGR of 30.6% from 2025 to 2032.
The CBD-infused goods market is expanding due to rising demand for cannabis, legalization, and increased interest in cannabis-infused edibles. Furthermore, the medical and therapeutic health benefits of CBD products are increasing their appeal. However, issues such as the expensive cost of cannabidiol (CBD) and stringent cannabis regulations in some countries may impede its progress. Despite these limits, new opportunities are emerging, particularly in the fields of cannabis-infused pet food and beverages.
The CBD-infused goods industry is moderately competitive, with numerous large and small companies on both a global and regional scale. Canopy Growth Corporation (Canada), Aurora Cannabis Inc. (Canada), Maricann Inc. (Canada), Tilray Brands, Inc. (Canada), GW Pharmaceuticals plc (U.K.), MediPharm Labs Corp. (Canada), Cresco Labs, Inc. (U.S.), Tauriga Sciences, Inc. (U.S.), MariMed Inc. (U.S.), CV Sciences, Inc. (U.S.), Kona Gold Beverage, Inc. (U.S.), Bhang Inc. (U.S.), DT Brands & Co. (N.I.) Ltd.
The market is divided into three segments: source, kind, and distribution channel. Among the sources, hemp is predicted to dominate, accounting for 76.3% of the market by 2024. Hemp-based CBD products are especially popular since they contain less THC, which reduces high effects and makes them safe for a variety of medical applications. Furthermore, the anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, and antioxidant benefits of hemp-derived CBD add to its market dominance. In terms of product type, edibles are predicted to dominate the market with a 33.6% share by 2024. This trend is being driven by an increase in demand for cannabis-infused foods, particularly in the recreational sector, as well as the growing popularity of CBD in verticals like as confectionery and baking. Customers are also resorting to CBD edibles as an alternative to smoking.
In terms of distribution channels, the offline segment is expected to dominate the market in 2024. In-person purchasing is still preferred due to the perception of authenticity and the need for a more customized shopping experience, which encourages the expansion of physical retail outlets in the CBD-infused products industry. Geographically, North America is predicted to lead the market, accounting for 59.5% of the worldwide share in 2024 and worth an estimated $26.76 billion. This dominance is fueled by factors like as simple access to CBD products, technological breakthroughs in manufacturing, a big consumer base, and CBD's growing appeal for both medical and recreational purposes. Furthermore, heightened knowledge of the health advantages of CBD and rising consumer spending strengthen North America's strong position.

The Association for the Cannabinoid Industry (ACI), which represents several of the largest CBD companies operating in the UK, wants to change the way CBD is tested. Currently, CBD balms, vapes, and oils are not tested with the same standards. According to recent market research, more than 8 million Brits are now buying CBD, spending more than £150m on products in the first four months of 2020. The ACI announced today that, in partnership with the lab company Eurofins and the Laboratory of Government Chemists (LGC), a testing company and UK government advisor, it has set the first lab standards for detecting cannabinoids in CBD products sold in the UK. The ACI is now in discussions with the UK’s Home Office and the LGC to refine the lab standards and extend them to cover food products infused with CBD. Breastfeeding and having pets around while making CBD products is unsanitary. With the extra scrutiny on health and wellness, customers shouldn't have to worry about the bacteria that can be transferred to products. This is also why we recommend having your final product lab tested for a full panel test which includes testing for mold, mycotoxins, and foreign materials. Now's the time to institute permanent health and safety guidelines because other outbreaks are coming according to the CDC Having kids and pets in your production facility is also a no-no. Cannabis production guidelines will be imposed on CBD companies operating in legal states as further regulations are passed. Let's talk about my morning routine. So I've trusted 2 brands over the past 4 years with my healing. Made from Dirt Organics and Dutch Natural Healing. They are both on our vetted list on www.cbd.how. For me using a combination of both CBD and THC does wonder for my pain. I take CBD in a tincture form right after I brush my teeth. I hold it for up to 5 minutes at a time. The effects I can feel within 20 minutes. I find that holding it much longer works better. I can take anywhere between 40-50mg in the morning. I then rub both my wrist and ankles before yoga. I then use my trusted THC (2+ years) to help boost me during my yoga session. It keeps me grounded and centered. It helps me meditate clearer. A quick tip: Recent studies show that smoking THC can affect compromised COVID-19 lungs. I'm still doing some research before I post my full article over at www.CBD.how. Grateful my new mat from Pro Source Fit came yesterday. 🧘🏽‍♂️ Much love. @madefromdirt @dutchnaturalhealing @prosourcefit #cbd #cbdheals #cbdeducationonline #cbdeducation #cbdedu #cbdinfo #cbdoil #cbdcommunity #cbdreviews #cbdregulations #cbdhow #cbdreviews #anxietyattack #anxietyrelief #anxietyrecovery #lupusawareness #lupus #depressionrelief #depressionawareness #depressionrecovery #autismawareness #autism #mentalhealthadvocate #mentalhealth (at Maryland) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-cUcqsBweZ/?igshid=1i4f30w2jm7m4

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is moving forward toward evaluating CBD for use in dietary supplements, the agency said. The FDA is looking at safe daily doses, the different forms of CBD products and any health threats that the substance might present. These include potential liver toxicity and male reproductive problems, as well as side effects such as drowsiness, the agency said in a report submitted to appropriations committees in the U.S. House and Senate. https://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2020/03/17/FDA-inches-closer-to-CBD-rules-for-dietary-supplements/8951584135040/ #cbd #cbdregulations #cbdreviews #cbdhow #fda #dietarysupplement #dietarysupplements #cbdtincture #cbdtinctures #cbdcream #cbdsupplements #cbdgummies #cbdoil #hemp #hempoil #hempcbd #cbdcommunity #hempcommunity #cannabis #cannabiscommunity (at Washington D.C.) https://www.instagram.com/p/B91xLgXhKSu/?igshid=1qqff6epioys9

Seems the new FDA commissioner is more open than the last. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is again asking the public to submit information about CBD as the agency prepares to issue regulations for legal marketing of the compound. In a draft notice set to be published in the Federal Register on Wednesday, the agency said that a public comment period, which was originally open from April to July of last year, will be reopened on an indefinite basis. The agency said it wants to learn about the potential impact of CBD on the liver, toxicity of its active metabolites, potential damage to the male reproductive system associated with use, drug and alcohol interactions, impact on neurological development and more. https://www.marijuanamoment.net/fda-invites-the-public-to-submit-more-comments-on-cbd/ #fda #cbd #cbdregulations #cbdheals #cbdoil #cbdreviews #cbddruginteractions #cbdhow #hempcbd #hemp #hempcommunity #cbdcommunity #cbdhemp #cbdhempoil #painmanagement #painrelief #painhelp #anxietyhelp #anxietyrelief #depressionrelief #depressionawareness #fullspectrumcbd #cannabis #cannabiscommunity (at Washington D.C.) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9mVguihSZk/?igshid=b84wsth60ha7

In order to be Sephora CBD compliant, beauty brands must first qualify under the Clean at Sephora standard, which the company created in May 2018, said Cindy Deily, vp of skin-care merchandising at Sephora. Last year, the company instituted stricter standards for its Clean program, ensuring that products are free from over 50 ingredients versus 13 at launch. Beyond that, CBD beauty products must contain full or broad spectrum CBD, said CBD must be grown domestically, all products must be triple tested by a third party and a certificate of analysis that verifies CBD content must be made available, so that label claims match ingredients. After launching its first CBD brand in stores last July with Lord Jones, Sephora only recently added Saint Jane and Flora + Bast to its national slate. New brand Prima, which launched DTC last June, will be the fourth beauty brand to anchor Sephora’s CBD assortment in 170-plus stores. Do you think that only big brands will be able to get in or will they look for small niche specific brands?
