THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Demonic goo, possessions, ladies in wells, one-legged hopping, taffy, mountain monks, ancestral sins, eternal braziers, curses, Joseon soccer, grim reapers, forgiveness, horticulture, tasty buchujeon, dragons, soul-feasting, sword fighting, dancing, and awesome moms.

HOT TAKE: I'm not sure if it's over-saturation, but as soon as kdrama characters find something important out and purposely don't tell their other main lead because they want to protect them, I start looking for the FF button. I know drama comes from conflict, but there's a real opportunity in dramas now to promote creative teamwork rather than dramatic irony.

I wanted to see more of a creative, professional growth arc for Bo Na's character and her shaman talents. Being paired up with a literal deity didn't make her useless, but it should have helped her come to terms with what she COULD do, as a human with human skills.

We all expected a cute romance, and we got it with these two due to their talents in being stubborn and like puppy dogs, but don't expect any satisfying kisses...or ones that 100% even touch lips.

My standard for romcom adult romance is Ha Ri x Tae Moo or Young Seo x Sung Hoon.

Anything less for Sol x Sun Jae is unacceptable.

ALONG WITH THE GODS: THE TWO WORLDS

SUMMARY: Three shamans try to figure out which is worse: not finding your spirit or losing it when you need it the most.

THIS MOVIE HAS EVERYTHING: Shaman Academies, debt, single moms, fortune telling, domestic abuse, rezoning, jjajangmyeon delivery in the woods, human trafficking, extortion, kidnapping, and freestyle shaman battles.

HOT TAKE: Whoever was responsible for Ju Ji Hoon's hair in this movie should be tried severely, because WTF.

Besides that coiffure crime against humanity, this movie was pretty compelling, even though it was shot 99% in front of various green screens. The world-building was a little rushed, but not so much that it took you away from the movie's impact, and I'll admit, I cried like a baby during the last 15 minutes because I'm a sucker for afterlife confessions in dramas.

This movie is a who's who of kdrama actors and actresses. Too many to list, but each one stellar in even just a few minutes on screen.

I'll say it here: we don't see Cha Tae Hyun in enough leading roles. He's super versatile and great at what he does.
