#Chronos and Kronos are not the same being

His suit is stylish and I ain't complaining but is there an in-universe reason why Hades wears a suit? My hc was that he got Kronos in Tartarus to use his time powers to get clothing from the future (since it seems like here Kronos is being conflated with Chronos the time primordial which aight, the Romans did the same) but it's a little funny because everyone else is wearing period appropriate clothing so it'd be like walking around today wearing the drip standards of the 48th century.
I love your singing voice BTW!
This is related to the SfS concept of “Threadview”.
I highly recommend checking out the wonderful animatic explaining the concept by @simoondraws, @smoolio & @yakowo, it’s on my page :)
You don’t need a time machine to get the materials for a suit - just the knowledge of how to make one. Hades, as the god of riches, had access to the necessary resources and the foresight to craft one himself, knowing that one day fashion in the overworld would evolve, and leaders and powerful figures would begin dressing that way.
I also like to think that it’s a little “nod” to Hadestown :)

Legacy of Chronos: Daughter of the Unknown God
Through her travels around the world/Infinite Realms, Ellie stumbles on Camp Halfblood and is mistaken for a demigod. She is determined to be a legacy of Cronus (Clockwork) and the child of an unknown god with a DP symbol (Danny).
Cue everyone mistaking Chronos for Kronos and thinking that the mystery god is a child of Kronos born sometime while he was in Tartarus. This misunderstanding is not helped by the fact that the Underworld is part of the Infinite Realms and portals to the Ghost Zone where often mistaken for portals to Tartarus.
Now Zeus is freaking out and wants to use Ellie as leverage against her father who obviously wants to take over Olympus. Percy/Thalia/Nico/Lester/whoever is now trying to keep Ellie out of Zeus’s paranoid clutches and get her back to Tartarus before her father goes looking for her.
(Ellie is so happy she made new friends, they’re even going to take her on a road trip to LA. Sure they seemed really nervous when she mentioned Danny would come looking for her if she didn’t check in soon, how was she supposed to know Hellhounds are cellphones anyway)

Danny was helping in processing new ghosts for the afterlife when he came across a young man. Considering the costume it was obvious that he was a hero who had died saving the world. After inquiry, the young man explained that he had died because he couldn't keep up with the speed of his relatives but he would do it all again. Even if it meant leaving his friends and girlfriend behind. The sadness of the situation weighed on Danny too much so he decided to bend the rules a little just this once. After all, what was the point of being High King of the Infinite Realms if he couldn't overstep the regulations on occasion. Besides, if it were really so bad, Clockwork would probably pop in to warn him.

Prompt 223
Clockwork is Chronos and Kronos. He is time, sometimes split into many aspects but one all the same. Normally it’s not an issue, as at the end of any of the aspects they simply return to him, as the main body. It’s almost like a hivemind, though not quite that either. Honestly he’s not been able to explain it to anyone else, as it’s such an entwined thing with his being.
Once again, normally there is no issue with it. However, instincts can bleed over, which apparently er, happened at some point. He’ll have to apologize to his aspect’s children for the misunderstanding when he gets the chance.
He might have forgotten while dealing with other things, meaning he never explained it to that timeline’s children. Oh well, he’s sure nothing will come from it- he’s quite busy caring for his little ghostling who is turning out to be just like him, albeit with Space instead of Time, after all…

Geek interested in mythology here! I love dp x dc stories. They can be really awesome, sometimes they're hilarious.
I'm just as amused as everyone else by the "Wonder Woman & co panic over Clockwork because he's Zeus' awful dad, the leader of the Titans.
However, whether he's called Cronus Kronos he's actually not the deity of time. That's a second person, named Chronos. Who I think might be a primordial deity predating the Titans.
I don't tend to nitpick this because mythology this long after when it originally came to be isn't distinct or definitive enough to warrant fretting over. After all, one could easily assume this is a case where a later generation of deity has the same domain as a prior generation. (See Gaia & Demeter. And how sometimes people ignore Selene & Helios existing- or don't know they do- and instead called the twin gods Artemis & Apollo the moon & sun deities.)
However I'm very interested in seeing someone play with this technicality.
The way I picture it goes something like this. Danny & the JL &/or JLD or whatever mixture you want- Batfam & Constantine could work too- are working together. Or Amity Park & the GIW have just been discovered.
During story time or debriefing Danny goes "Clcokwork said-". Or else when answering a question he starts his explanation with "According to Clockwork".
Naturally this gets interrupted to ask who Clockwork is. (Or a JLD member or JLD aligned person freaks out)
Once those present know who Clockwork is & somewhat understand his status in the Infinite Realms someone who mostly knows or only knows the modern reinterpretations- maybe Flash or Green Lantern?- comes out with something like "wait, the guy who ate his kids? Is it safe for you to be near him?"
Chaos ensues. If you want to go the "Chronos & Cronus both have power over time" route que a moment for Wonder Woman or JLD member or choice to panic.
Once someone gets things back on track Danny or whoever else you want clarifies that no, Clockwork is either Chronos not Cronus or not from the Greek pantheon at all.
I'm inclined for Clockwork being Chronos, so if you do that there should also be a moment for the shock or other form of overreaction to Danny's connection to a deity who's a bigger shot than even a Titan.

Minor point but it is incredibly lame to me that Lore Olympus completely foregoes Kronos' connection to harvest and abundance (his mythological weapon of choice is a *sickle!*) in favor of making him purely a time god. Kronos and Chronos got conflated early, it's not like it's purely *wrong*, but it feels like a gigantic missed opportunity to not go for the harvest aspects when Persephone, supposedly our main character, is literally half of an agricultural duo with Demeter.
That conflation definitely started centuries ago so it's kind of an argument that I don't fall on either side on (though I see it come up a lot). I personally have subscribed to the idea of Chronos and Kronos being one and the same simply due to the combination of the harvest and time as a metaphor. As in Kronos, a god of the harvest, is also the harbinger of destruction that would typically be caused by the passage of time. Hence the sickle - it's a tool used when a plant is ready to be harvested, and it effectively 'dies'.
IDK if you've seen the Rekindled family tree, but I have something planned for that very idea (sorta) ;)

Hello! As someone who's never played Hades, or its sequal's early access, you are free to ignore this ask as it's just something my sleep-addled mind concocted after watching too much videos and reading metas, but I'd like to bring up someone who's never appeared in tandem with Kronos, despite being just as vital and important to the creation of Olympians but never mentioned much:
RHEA
I just have this thought after the fact that in your tenth meeting with Hades after nine successful boss battle confrontation with him to the surface, he just lets you leave to meet with Persephone, who actually this point is already planning to return to the Underworld, and her return starts the point in which the family relationship between father and son becomes less discordant and more smoother and lighter, enabling other relationships to reunite into a better outcome.
So the thought is that Rhea will become the key to defeating Chronos permanently, a reverse of the reunion between Hades and Persephone, a fight between two grandparents, I guess. Also would be interesting to know what her children's thoughts on Rhea are. And the person who's gonna help us accomplish that is Zagreus.
The fact that the early access stops us at Zagreus's room is suspicious, also it could help confirming the theory of Zagreus being the God of Blood and Life. Chronos stated that what brought him back was spite, but mostly the blood sacrifices. Wouldn't it be ironic if Rhea, whatever state or where she is, is also revived by Zagreus? Could also be a neat sibling development between him and Melinoe.
As I've said, this is just a mad rambling of a theory. You are free to ignore this. I find your analyses on Melinoe and her relationships between the people around her fascinating. Drink water and eat your vegetables regularly. May a kind month grace you.
I feel like if Rhea were to show up, she would've been mentioned by now. Also we do have the dissolution of time spell and one of the ingredients for it is entropy which is made of paper material that I think is more linked to the Fates. And the Fates do have a task in the list of minor prophecies asking Mel to save them. Makes sense that the end goal of the Surface is saving them, or just interaction to get entropy.
And I'm pretty sure the reason why we get into Zagreus's room at the end is cause at the courtyard I presume we will be able to find the frozen in time statues of the family at the House. And each run we'll presumably free one, necessitating the 10 times win against Chronos for the first ending, same as we saw in the first game and getting Persephone home.

Ask time!!!!
Your intro said you lien Percy Jackson so…. Who would your OCs’ godly parents be in pjo?? :3
Thank you so much for the ask!
Dude, I'm so glad you asked! I have been waiting for this.
(This turned into a long winded yap lol)
SF first (this one's complicated as they don't have any supernatural abilities, this is solely off of their personalities)
Mahika would be a daughter of Psyche. She understands people, she feels love, she would do anything to keep them safe, to make them feel safe, even if it hurts her. She feels, she doesn't judge. She wants something for herself too, but not at the cost of her loved ones. She does get influenced by people, is easy to play with, but once you truly understand her, you can't hurt her.
Pedro would be a son of Persephone. He is a dreamer, an idealist who becomes a realist. He seems naive and innocent and childlike, and he would like to be that way, but he understands the reality too. In a way, he uses that childlike charm of his too.
Ziah would be a devotee of Artemis. She isn't made for bindings. She is caring, and loves with her whole heart, but she needs her freedom. In a way, to let her free is the closest bond you can share with her.
Alfie would be a son of Asclepius. He, like Mahika, wants to help people. He wants to show people the light, a better life, to heal them. He is an idealist through and through.
2. BRT (this one is relatively simple as they have powers)
Kai is definitely a child of Poseidon. Not just because they control water, but also because of their impulsive nature, unpredictable mind, and also kind of vindictive (I'm bringing some Epic! Poseidon characterization here). They have their own wave to travel, and no matter how much they try, they cannot be restrained.
Aka would be a daughter of Mars (not Ares). She's smart, definitely, but not shrewd or clever. She works by her heart and intuition more than mind games, and she's fiercely loyal. She would have some connection to Hephestus (fire powers, maybe a legacy).
Alia, on the other hand, is a daughter of Hephestus through and through. She's a creator, and she loves her creations. There is no pride, but if someone insults her mind, they're done for. She's definitely not someone who understands people and the matters of the heart even though she tries to (so does everyone though lol).
Laia is where things get trickier. She would come off as a daughter of Apollo or Aphrodite (because or her power to persuade anyone), and then Athena (because she uses her brains more than brown and has hubris). However, she would actually be a daughter of Hermes because of all of that. She's quick witted, has a silver tongue, prefers trickery, yet stands by what she believes in.
(Fun fact: She was initially based on one of my pjo oc, Luna Caceres, who is a daughter of Apollo and a protege of Athena. She later became her own person though)
Atanea is another example of this. She would be considered to be related to Athena (and no, not because of her name), being the Strategos and all. But by heart, she's a child of Aphrodite. She stands by her heart, loves unconditionally, and acts by her heart too. She would, however, also have some connection to another god, specifically Chronos, the Lord of Time.
(Yeah, so Chronos and Kronos are two different deities in Greek mythology. Kronos was just the Titan of Harvest and ruler of Cosmos before Zeus. Chronus was Time itself. Both have a scythe though. Pjo merged the two.)
Cleofas would be a son of Morpheus (god of dreams and illusions), and blessed by Apollo. He can create illusions make people live in a dream, while he himself seeks the same dreams he fulfills yet condemns. He is a charmer, bright as the Sun, he draws everyone. Yet, he is more than he seems.
Acacius comes of as a son of Ares. He holds the essence of war in his core. However, he really isn't anything like the deity he is associated with. So, to know his actual godly parent, we'll have to look at who he was, before being turned into a shell.
SPOILER HERE!
Alperen would be a son of Hades. He is connected to the earth, loyal to those he cares for, doesn't really care about the politics of the world, but would stand for what is right. He is a silent warrior, and a lovable idiot at heart at the same time.

I'm gonna rant about wikipedia
a great website, I love wikipedia
not perfect though
and that can be seen on the wiki page for Chronos:
"Khronos or Chronus, is a personification of time in pre-Socratic philosophy and later literature. Chronos is frequently confused with, or perhaps consciously identified with, the Titan, Cronus, in antiquity, due to the similarity in names."
I hate this
a lot
and I assume this is where many misconceptions I've heard come from
this is worded as though it's incorrect, or non-standard
"confused" no, they weren't confused, religion is just very fluid, a lot of Greeks considered Chronos and Kronos to be the same god (most to my knowledge in fact, many even confidently stating that Kronos was just another spelling of the word for time, Chronos), this isn't them "being confused"
it's possible that Chronos and Kronos were separate beings originally, who got syncretized, this is common
it's also possible that they were always the same, and some later groups separated them (notably the Orphics)
for the most part
it's fair to consider Chronos, and Kronos, the same god, except in some contexts (such as Orphism), and I dislike wikipedia's wording here

This has to be the like tenth or eleventh part of my Justice League Canada stuff that i'm sharing. I can't believe I wrote so much, especially when I remember I probably won't get around to making any of this stuff a real comic.
Issue #45: Chronos (as possesed by Kronos/Saturn) flung The Question back to victorian england, where he'd already previously trapped the Blue Beetle. Now stuck back in the past, these two old charlton characters get into a past adventure involving a killer stalking the streets of london. Yes, the question and blue beetle end up going after the infamous bandit Gentleman Jim Craddock (before his death and transformation into the gentleman ghost). So this would be probably the most lighthearted of all the time stories in this little saga.
But there's still one thing I think it'd be cool to feature: Jim Craddock had a thieving partner in Richard Swift (otherwise known in the modern day as The Shade). So The Question and Blue Beetle really end up dealing with both of them. And since Blue Beetle and Shade briefly met during that time tne new league and the justice league canada fought, Blue Beetle recognizes this past version of The Shade (which makes for some really interesting twists).
1. The Question (Vic Sage)
2. Blue Beetle (Ted Kord)
Issue #46: Sam Heartsea ends up being flung back to Ancient Egypt. Once in Egypt, he finds out that Emily and Jean were exiled here too. Now trapped in ancient egypt, they end up stuck dealing with one of Saturn's allies: specifically, the immortal neanderthal known as Vandal Savage. Apparently, he's worked himself into a high position within ancient egyptian society, and it's now up to these three justice league members to take him on.
In fighting Vandal Savage, they manage to inadvertently get the attention of the Doctor Fate of ancient egypt, as well as of Prince Khufu and Chay-Ara (hawkman and hawkgirl's original incarnations). With these two aiding them, our group's numbers are elevated to six. And these six successfully save ancient egypt from falling to Vandal Savage's influence.
1. The Admiral (Sam Heartsea)
2. The Geomancer (Emily Harrison)
3. Jean Boudreau
4. Doctor Fate
5. Prince Khufu of Egypt
6. Chay-Ara of Egypt
Issue #47: Jemm, Son of Saturn ends up being flung back to Ancient Rome, the era where Saturn was once at his strongest. Jemm ends up infiltrating the fringes of ancient roman society, and he discovers that The Red Bee is being prepared as a human sacrifice at a particularly brutal saturnalia. Knowing this festival would give Saturn untold powers (and knowing all too well the devastation saturn can bring), Jemm interrupts the festival and saves the Red Bee.
Although the Red Bee is severely weakened and debilitated from the sacrifice preparations, he still exerts himself trying to fight off the insane saturnalia revelers. But when he pushes himself too far by shrinking and summoning an enormous swarm of bees, jemm takes him and flees. Thankfully, this is around the time that Kronos/Saturn's spell is reversed, and the comic ends with Jemm and The Red Bee returning to the present.
This comic would also feature a decent amount of exposition, as we learn more about the dangers of kronos/saturn and about what some of his goals might be. Because he wants earth to be his again, and he won't stop until he's made that dream a reality.
1. Jemm, Son of Saturn
2. The Red Bee (Richard Raleigh)
Issue #48: Due to Sam, Emily and Jean's adventure in ancient egypt, Doctor Fate manages to get a startling memory in the present warning him that kronos/saturn has returned. Hawkman and Hawkgirl get the same message. And The Phantom Stranger was already aware of the grave threat. So those four arrive at Justice League Canada's headquarters and manage to force kronos/saturn to give up the body of chronos and return the Justice League members to the present.
Despite managing to defeat kronos/saturn temporarily, they didn't manage to deal him a crushing blow. He escapes, free to menace society a second time later on. But at least now we have time to prepare for that.
But now that the Justice League Canada is all reunited in one place, the team roster changes again. A lot of members leave with this issue, needing leaves of absence to recover from the traps of kronos/saturn. But on the plus side, Jemm, William, Willow and The Question finally become official members of the team!
1. Jemm, Son of Saturn
2. The Question (Vic Sage)
3. William Nielsen
4. Willow/Mantis
5. The Admiral (Sam Heartsea)
6. Booster Gold (Michael Jon Carter)
7. Blue Beetle (Ted Kord) (Leaves for a while, beginning with this issue)
8. The Geomancer (Emily Harrison) (Leaves for a while, beginning with this issue)
9. Jean Boudreau (Leaves for a while, beginning with this issue)
10. The Red Bee (Richard Raleigh) (Leaves for a while, beginning with this issue)
11. Phantom Stranger
12. Hawkman (Carter Hall)
13. Hawkgirl (Shiera Sanders-Hall)
14. Doctor Fate (Kent Nelson)
Issues #49-54: Some more lighthearted issues, showcasing the new team dynamics. I don't know what'd happen in these issues, but i'd want to showcase William and the mysteries of Willow/Mantis again. Maybe also feature Jemm trying to step into a leadership role on the team. The mystery of Willow is a big one, especially when we get to see her and her son, Sequoiah. Because Sequoiah is the celestial messiah, and he'll be very important to the events of the new crisis.
1. Jemm, Son of Saturn
2. The Question (Vic Sage)
3. William Nielsen
4. Willow/Mantis
5. The Admiral (Sam Heartsea)
6. Booster Gold (Michael Jon Carter)

I have located an early Christian discourse in which Satan is explicitly linked to the Titans, possibly to Typhon by extension. Both the Christian Origen of Alexandria and the pagan Celsus agree on the myth of the Titanomachy as the basis of the myth of the Fall of Satan.
Celsus, as quoted by Origen, accused Christians of impiety by posing an adversary to God - that being The Devil, or rather Satan. Celsus argued that Christianity poses a God that desires to do good but is helpless to do it because he has someone (Satan) counterveiling his will. Then, Celsus discusses ancient mythology concerning war among the gods. He focuses specifically on a myth told by Pherecydes of Syros, in which in the gods Kronos and Ophioneus raise their armies against each other in a battle to determine who will rule the cosmos.
At this point we need to step back a bit. Ophioneus, or Ophion, is the name of a serpent deity who seems to represent the forces of chaos. In some myths, Ophioneus is presented as the first divine ruler of the cosmos, though Pherecydes doesn't agree with that. As for Kronos, it is possible that in Pherecydes' myth this refers to both the Titan Kronos and Chronos the personification of time. The two figures are not traditionally conflated with each other, but it seems that Pherecydes probably did interpret them as being the same deity. In Pherecydes' myth, Kronos and Ophioneus battle each other before the ordering of the cosmos begins, though the full account of this battle is not entirely clear. Celsus believed that the loser of this battle, Ophion, was cast into the ocean (or rather Oceanus).
Some fragments seem to support the notion that it is Oceanus rather than Tartarus that Ophion is cast down into. But Ophioneus seems to also be considered identical or parallel to Typhon, who, in Greek mythology, was cast down into Tartarus or under Etna after his defeat by Zeus. It is possible that Ophion may have been thought to be born in Tartarus, which Pherecydes depicts as a cave below the earth, whereas Typhon was also born in a cave as the son of Gaia (earth) and Tartaros.
One thing to note is that, for Pherecydes, unlike many other ancient cosmogonies, it seems there is no primordial chaos that precedes an act of primeval demiurgy resulting in cosmic order. Instead, the forces of order and chaos existed besides each other forever and in conflict. For Pherecydes there was also no creation out of nothing. Instead, three gods were the first to exist all along: Zas (Zeus), Chthonie (Ge/Gaia), and Kronos/Chronos. He believed that these gods existed eternally, and that Chaos somehow came to be with no explanation.
Anyway, Celsus brings up Pherecydes' myth while discussing the concept of Satan, and then says that the Greek myths concerning the Titans and/or the Giants, and the Egyptian myths concerning Typhon (obviously meaning Set in this context) shared a similar symbolic meaning. He also relates that Hepheastus told Hera that he once felt the might of Zeus and hurled down from Olympus, and that Zeus boasted to Hera of how he bound and hung her in golden chains and hurled all the gods who opposed him from Olympus, as if to relate these to the Fall.
Tumblr media
Celsus then does something interesting: he identifies the words of Zeus to Hera with the word of God to matter, arguing that this signifies matter that was originally was in discord before God then took and bound it together and arranged it with law, and then banished disorder. Demons who create disorder in the cosmos are related in Celsus' analogy to Titans and rebelling gods: they are chastised and hurled down. Tartarus, according to both Celsus and Pherecydes, is the place where Zeus banishes disorderly or insolent gods: in a word, prison.
Origen seems to actually agree with this analogy. In fact, in Book 4 of Against Celsus, Origen referred to "earthly demons, who delight in frankincense, and blood, and in the exhalations of sacrificial odours, and who, like the fabled Titans or Giants, drag down men from thoughts of God". Moreover, Origen argued that the writings of Moses mentioned a "wicked one" and his "falling from heaven" before the time of Homer and Pherecydes. Origen believed that Satan was the serpent that tempted Adam and Eve and that this was the original myth behind Ophioneus. If Origen interprets Satan as Ophioneus, then I would argue that he implies this connection for Typhon, and the Titans and Giants in relation to his demonic host. Origen also says that Satan is the "destroying angel" and the scapegoat Azazel.
This is interesting to consider in light of Plutarch and other sources whereby Typhon Seth is represented as a sacrificial animal. For Plutarch, Typhon is destined to never be completely defeated, and his power resides in the sacrificed animals and their slain blood, which, for Plutarch, ultimately nourishes the cosmos at least in the act of sacrifice, which pleases the powers of Osiris and Isis.
In any case, Origen seems to agree with Celsus on the Titanic-Satanic analogy, with the difference being that Celsus thinks the Christians were simply imitating pre-Christian myths while Origen thinks the Christian narrative preceded those same myths.
It might be worth noting that 2 Peter 2:4 says that God did not spare the angels who "sinned" against him, and that he threw them into "the pit". This is sometimes rendered as "hell", but in the Greek New Testament "the pit" is translated as Tartarus. Yes, none other than Tartarus, the prison of the Titans, and perhaps of Typhon and Kronos. From the pagan (or at least Celsian) standpoint at least, the parallels could not be clearer than this.

Season 7, episode 2- The Hatching
Oh that’s fun intro music- I enjoy it but I kinda feel like it could have more semblance to the og idk- still fun tho and fits with the season
Man I really like the temple of airjitzu, among my favorite bases
Okay so wu is definitely dying
Okay so healing tea exists
Jay you are asking incredibly valid questions right now, I love you
Oooh Ninjago lore
Libber!
So…. Okay so it’s the serpentine warS- so I think that the first one (or more) were just between the various tribes, whereas the last few ninjago participated which ultimately led to the imprisoning of the serpentine-for 40 years
Was an elemental master
Well I mean, I do feel like time is one of the more powerful elements-
Also do we see any other instances of elements being shared between masters or is it just the time twins?
Parents lore!!
Okay so it’s specific aspects of time manipulation that they can control
Acronix-speeds+slows time
Crux-reverses+stops time
Rare elemental master of gravity mention
I miss garmadon :((
Were the time blades made with those same crystals found on chen’s island?
Anti-capitalist acronix let’s go
I love that gag in cartoons where if a character is getting a phone call or smth, it’ll be the intro theme
Candy rush exists within the ninjago universe
“The way one often defeats an enemy” by making them your friend? “By taking away their weapon”
‘Kronos steel’ okay so the metal has time based properties but WHAT KIND?????
Also this is the third unique stone/metal used for weapons (vengestone, deepstone, Kronos steel) (chronos steel?)
Ray and maya probably forged those weapons, huh
Okay so Kronos Steel specifically absorbs elemental energy, not just time based stuff-WAIT THEN WHYS IT CALLED THAT?????
I feel like it’d be better to destroy the blades rather than chuck them into time
“But the hands of time will never again threaten ninjago” ohhh babygirl…..
Okay he’s asleep now alright-
Glad we’re atleast keeping jay and nya’s relationship update from skybound….. unlike CERTAIN OTHER ASPECTS OF THE SEASON WE COULD BE INCLUDING-
Well yeah you inherited the powers, but you’re the one that trained and fought with them
Kai…. That was entirely on purpose
Dareth!!!!!!! :DDDDD
Gale gossip!
Vinny! You may not have any dialogue yet but you’re still here!!
“There has to be a better way!”
Mother doomsday!
SjNgiBDKSH what’s wrong with the borgwatch??? Huh???? HUH?????
Airjitzu! Glad we’re keeping this-DESPITE US ALREADY HAVING DRAGONS- okay we’ll season 5 was an exception cuz Lloyd was out of commission and they didn’t have their powers but CMON MAN?????
Gayle gossip! Vinny! Dareth!
Does Spanish exist in ninjago?
Oh yeah we’re hiding the fact that they’re snakes
Oh dang rip Dareth
Crux bbgirl
OH HES BEEN FLUNG
Kai did you really think (if just for a second) that Dareth could handle this?
WHY IS THE SNAKE GUY SO OVERPOWERED
RIP ZANE
Oh heck yeah good job Cole :D
Ohhhh i do not enjoy the snake people-as in like- more than one snake per person-like as in- THEYRE MADE OF SNAKES SND I DINT LIKE IT OKAY??????
“You said there was more than one way to stop a snake, which one do you wanna try now?” “Uhhh ANY OF THEM????” Now guess who’s jay and who’s Lloyd
Oh great theres more-now wait just a second Trope Talk has a video on this, the more there are the likelier then heroes win!
PIXAL!
….. okay so I may stand corrected I DO NOT ENJOY THE SNAKE PEOPLE
Okay so we electrocute the snakes alright
OH OKAY RIP ZANE????
Ohhhh so we keep them from reforming and THEN we electrocute them!
OH THEYRE IN THE SEWERS NOW THATS NICE
Yeah we should probably find Zane-also Kai make sure to NOT inspect those helmets yeah?
Oh so Zane’s dead again that’s nice
…your best blacksmiths?
CAN WE STOP IT WOTH THE SNAKES PLEASE????????????

Since Chronos is a distintly seperate entity to Kronos in real mythology, would this be an example of it being the older and more powerful aspect of the same being in the k-verse?
I think mechanically it's similar, but the results are a bit further apart. Chronos and Kronos belong to the same pantheon and are bound by roughly the same rules, while Bast is a singular goddess and is not beholden to the same mechanics as Bastet and the rest of the Egyptian pantheon.

A question that has been bugging me lately
So recently, I saw a poll on YouTube in which it was a bunch of characters who had the best absorption abilities, and Cell was second place behind Kirby in most of those polls I saw. So I wondered how powerful his absorption abilities were, especially when everyone in the fandom seems to treat Dragon Ball as the end-all-beat-all series of everything. So this is my question to Dragon Ball fans on 2 characters from my favorite series.
This made me think: Could Cell successfully be a Guyver? Let's start with the Guyvers. I acknowledge that standard Guyvers stand no real chance against the higher-tier Dragon Ball characters,
Scenario Imperfect Cell version 1 comes across Guyver-I and or Aptom in his rampage to find the Androids before he encounters Piccolo. Would he be able to absorb these 2 who are currently the 2 most powerful protagonists of the Guyver series or would he avoid them if he realized they were far more dangerous than he initially thought?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let me start with the Guyvers. These 3 are currently the only 3 living in the Manga and of course the live-action version
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, Guyver Units typically aren't dangerous. In fact, they are typical pieces of equipment for the alien race (Advents/Creators/Uranus - yes, that's what they are sometimes called). They only become weapons when a sentient being touches the control medal in which it comes to life.
Tumblr media
When it attaches to a sentient being, it stores a sample of the host's DNA in its Control Medal and turns it into the Guyver. Where that being's physical abilities increase 100-fold. Sure, he could absorb a human Guyver-Host, who is human until he calls the Guyver armor (host is in the top left corner, transforming into the blue armored figure you see).
Tumblr media
But would Cell be able to absorb the Guyver into his being? Especially when the Guyver needs the Control Medal connected to the host brain to regulate and maintain its energy levels. You see with out that Control Medal, whether it is removed
Tumblr media
or it is already damaged before activation and punched while malfunctioning
Tumblr media
one of 2 things can happen, the Guyver turns
Tumblr media
Into a mindless, bloodthirsty creature known as the Bio-Boosted Creature (seen here), or the energies will run so rampant the armor will eat the host alive until nothing remains.
Tumblr media
But if Cell did find a way to do so and managed to fuse the Control Medal to his being, would his Android physiology be able to stop it from regenerating a totally new Guyver because it stores the host's DNA in it? Do you think Cell would successfully absorb a Guyver and add their abilities to his own or not risk it? If he was able to successfully integrate the Control Medal into his body to control his abilities, would all that energy he has overload the control medal and cause it to eat his body alive as it did Guyver-II, seen above
Now, let's talk about the next character from the same series, Aptom. In the Guyver series, this guy is one of the most powerful beings, potentially rivaling all the Guyvers and possibly every Zoalord except for Alkanphel.
Tumblr media
And that is saying something when there are Guyvers, Guyver-Gigantics, Gigantic-Exceeds, Zoalords, Zoanoids ranging from Sub-Standard Zoanoids (what I call the live-action Zoanoids) to Lost Number Zoanoids and Guyver-Killers - Zoanoids whose genetic properties were designed to melt Guyver Armor. He originally started off as a Zoanoid whose Optimization failed, turning him into a Lost Number - a Zoanoid that can't be mass-produced/replicated by Cronos/Kronos/Chronos (however you want to spell it). Because he was a failed Zoanoid
Tumblr media
Cronos experimented on him to the point that he turned into something more than a Lost Number, severing his connection to Zoalords.
This guy can imitate Guyvers in appearance,
Tumblr media
Because of being experimented on by Cronos he also gained the ability to absorb Zoanoids gaining their abilities and create battle forms based off the Zoanoids he absorbed as seen here
Tumblr media
In this form, he fought and was eventually defeated by Guyver-I. He had an arm cut off, which he picked up and fused back to his body, which ironically was the only piece that remained after their fight, which regenerated Aptom's head and arm. He then started absorbing as many Zoanoids as possible, including the Hyper-Zoanoid Team 5 (seen here), starting with Elegen (the tentacled one). He never gets the chance to absorb Thancrus (the one with sword hands) because he is killed by Guyver-III, so his abilities are not allowed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He attacks and attempts to absorb Archanphel in this clip (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfGMY6_IRkw). But even though he was blown to bits, his body parts attached and absorbed the 5 zoanoids in blue suits Alkanphel killed. He later infiltrates the Cronos base and kills Gaster, the pink one, off-screen/panel. He then manages to infect and take over Derzerb (the rhino looking Zoanoid) even with 99% of his Gaster-possessed body blown away by Zx-Tole turning into this form
Tumblr media
Aptom Version-3, which this form is called, fought Zx-Tole and was severely damaged. When Zx-Tole was about to kill him, the last of Aptom's duplicates ambushed Zx-Tole grabbed ahold of his leg and started to absorb him til Zx-Tole blew off his own leg to get away. But that was enough for Aptom because all he needed was a tissue sample to absorb Zoanoid's abilities (regeneration from just a tissue sample is also possibly proven in the series and manga later on). Anyway, the last Aptom duplicate absorbs not just Zx-Tole's leg but also the upper torso of Version-3 to create this form
Tumblr media
Now, in this form, he can degenerate himself in emergency situations but turn himself into a bunch of missiles and shoot them from his wrists and shoulders and have them form a new body in an attempt to retreat and regroup, which got him captured by Cronos later on, which a Zoalord found a way to control him. When Guyver-I and another Lost Number by the name of Bio-Freezer and Aptom's friend (because during his time with Cronos, Aptom and Lost Numbers were outcasts amongst all the other classes and became friends - so when he found out Bio-Freezer was a lost number he became protective of him)
Tumblr media
attempted to rescue him.
Tumblr media
He attacked them like he wasn't in control of his abilities like he typically was which became evident to to them and hatched a plan to sever a limb so it could regenerate the true Aptom.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As the battle climaxed, Bio-Freezer was injured and froze the Evil-Aptom," as he was called, including the piece inside him that started absorbing Bio-Freezer's body. The absorption and subsequent regeneration of Aptom enraged him towards Cronos even more but also gave him his latest form known as Aptom Omega Blast
Tumblr media
He does share a form with Guyver-I, his most trusted ally now, and vice-versa, but that is mainly for infiltrating Cronos to speak to one of the more respected Zoalords or go on a stealth mission known as Guyver-Aption
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now that I have gone through all of his current forms, in which you can see all the different zoanoids he has absorbed and his regeneration,
Tumblr media
A tissue sample like seen above, and given a chance, those 5 samples could regenerate into 5 Aptoms or infect 5 Zoanoids and take control of their bodies. Would Cell keep Aptom's ability to absorb him from the inside out at bay while adding Aptom's abilities to his own, or would Cell start to absorb him and realize he was dangerous to his own existence and not risk it? I'd like to know your thoughts.
I mean, he could be the actual god of time Chronos where we get the "father of time" idea from, and not the Titan Cronus who is famous for eating Hades and Posiden. Actual Greek mythos has so many gods that have been created and swallowed up by other gods. Like Apollo is like 3-4 gods in a trench coat that time and cultre put into a blender.
Now I am not a master of greek mythology and my knowledge of DC lore is also super weak but like there are ways of making anything work with this play-doh we call fan fiction :D. There are any number of ways you can work with this thats what makes reading fan fiction fun seeing how others make the world and the characters work and interact.
Hell I have seen works on here that have work around this very thing, it being a plot point in the story they use it to show how Pandora does not trust him, or using it as a driect tie to wonder woman to drop him off with her and the whole JL getting alarmed.
Then theres the Roman God of time Saturn, when the Romans started started copying everyones home work they took Kronos hated titan and glued him to their much beloved Saturn. These guys love Saturn, we are talking temples, fesitvals, holidays, you could have Saturn (CW) and Kronos two sides of the same coin a split entity, two halfs of a whole, you could have a story of Kronos hunting down CW to eat his core to become whole or stronger. Also he could just be evil old Kronos as well because again its fan fiction, you could see him as the villian for letting danny die in the first place.
The real question is, why was I compelled to write about this so much? It was probably the "The Fates will likely punish you for your insult." line.
"My cousin," Wonder Woman nods at Danny during their meeting, once everyone gathered.
Flash, confused, asks. "From... your mother's side?"
Sharing an amused glance, WW shakes her head. "No, from my father's side. Danny is a son of Hades."
"Another demigod then." Batman states and they nod on that.
Why yes, when Danny met Wonder Woman in a dire situation, desperate to get away, he jumped right along her idea.
The idea of faking his own origin, in a way to explain the half death-ness without raising the suspicion of the bat (or anyone for the matter), pretending to be a son of hades.
Is this absolutely batshit insane trying to trick the god of the unworld? Yeah! He's having fun.
10 Anti LO Asks
(Note: All of these asks are before episode 206 (Season 2 finale) so some may be dated.) 1. do RS defenders realize the issue is in the fact that, despite being a woman who claims to be a progressive feminist marketing herself to be making a progressive, feminist "reclaiming" of mythology, her work and actions being indistinguishable from awful male writers is?? really bad?? the "if the roles were reversed" argument is to point out her and her work is really no different from the same misogynistic, bigoted men and their stories that she and her fans claim she and LO are better then.
2. The thing is an age gap isn't the actual issue, the issue is the fact Persephone was made A TEENAGER who looks/acts even younger and even in comic it was found gross, THAT's why people were and still are grossed out by it and find Rachel's insistences "subverting it" questionable at best, and an outright lie at worse. This especially is more pointed with the timeskip, because Persephone still looks/acts the same as she did at 19, so it just makes you wonder WHY Rachel made her 19 to begin with.
3. Ok but it IS important to point out how the double standards within LO and RS and especially the fact she is a rich white woman who wants the praise of being progressive and feminist yet her actual actions and story do not show that. We also have to point this out because of how she and her fans weaponize this to say any legitimate criticism is merely "hating women", over the fact she DOES promote and do harmful things other creators (like queer and BIPOC creators) dont get to "grow" from
4. I'm sorry if this comes across as racist. That is not my intention. I hate the human skin colors Rachel Smythe uses. They look unnatural. Like paper grocery bags or potato wedges from KFC.
5. If 10 years passed, shouldn't Dionysus already be born? Semele died? I feel like RS forgot about a whole Olympian God. 🤨
6. I'm reading the comments on Rachel's insta, with the fast pass showing the pink nymth, and the comments speak volumes. Everyone's questioning if it's another lover, or someone is trying to seduce Hades, or Kronos is possessing him (??), Some fans even talk about getting anxiety/blood pressure spikes. Wow... It's almost as if a trama bonded relationship isn't stable. It's almost as if Hades has been unfaithful to past lovers. As if there's a pattern here that makes the readers want to blame the nymth (who has NO voice lines yet, btw. Their attacking her for putting her hand out (smug) and showing side boob (telling her to cover up? That's ironic)) rather than Hades himself. You know. The other person in their relationship. And don't even tell me they're not official yet, I'm tired of beating around the bush, Persephone is literally the queen of the underworld.
7. Do LO fans know that flipping out over even potential other women in Hades' life, despite the fact the whole selling point is knowing Hades and Persephone ends up together, only gives the impression they're not confident in their relationship to begin with? Like yall know they end up together, there's absolutely no reason to flip out at the inclusion of a random woman other than they knowingly or not think the couple is too weak too stand on their own (also misogyny but that's a different convo)
8. Not to be a nerd or anything, but I think LO completely mixed up Kronos and Chronos. The former is the titan of harvest and leader of said titans, while the latter is the personification of time. Similar names, but distinctly separate entities.
-----SA Discussion Below-----
9. Yeah it's hard to say RS is a staunch supporter of SA victims and takes the topic seriously/handles it with care when she made Arion and the result of his birth a child support "joke" when the actual mythology is Demeter being violently r*ped. It's honestly disgusting the fans defend it as "just a joke' while claiming the series stands up for victims. No, it stands up for CERTAIN victims, the rest, what, "deserved" it? Especially Demeter because she's not their "precious cinnamon roll"?
10. The issue with the SA plot too is she uses it to push P towards Hades, but then also can’t just have them jump into bed because of the obvious barriers there from the assault, so she’s basically stuck in this bizarre juggling act where she wants to be praised as this “serious writer who tackles serious issues” yet does nothing because she just wants to draw them boning but can’t because she doesn’t know how to handle SA & its trauma without ignoring it outright, so she doesn’t tackle it anyway!
