How to know if a fic is AI Generated:
1. Look at all of the fics of an author to see if you can spot any patterns
2. Know what chat-pgt slop look like, it has beautiful grammar and formatting but for fanfiction plot and characterization is suuuper general. Also AI used for creative writing is different from formal writing.
3. Use a couple different trusted AI checkers of some sections
4. 80-95% of all suspected fics (all but one) are AI generated according to the ai checkers (not fully foolproof, but an indicator, because you know what happens when you put select parts of different fics into AI checkers? 0-40%)
5. Look at the formating on ao3, they don’t have the right fandom tagged, they made their profile literally 2 days ago but have 11 fics up allready.
6. Look at the notes of their fics, claim they made 2-3 of them first for their birthday today/this is their first fic. Have mixed up end of work notes and end of chapter notes. The written style in the notes is very different from what’s in the fic.
7. Lots of social media aus, that look very formulaic copy pasted from a chat gpt prompt, without formatting and no htlm (like no care at all has gone into this work
8. If you use hashtags and/or other symbols in your prompt chat gpt will also love these symbols in the generated text
10. Realized the one fic this is actually human made and it’s very different from the formula others.
Not one of these alone or together makes a 100% guarantee of AI gen but all of these together makes me believe 90% of their work has at least some AI influence. Now AI generated writing is permitted on ao3 so there’s not much to do about it except muting and blocking. But it’s still sad to see. Who knows it might be machine translation from a different language or something

In the ICT-class, we make use of AI tools for a lot of assignments. During the past years, I heard a lot about benefits as well as disadvantages of using AI tools for different projects. Dealing with artificial intelligence in real life right now, I'm experiencing mixed feelings towards it. What mostly comes to my mind when I think about AI tools, is those tools making uncredited use of content other people created, for example paintings. I have seen this happening a lot of times, so I am definitely critical towards this topic. On the other hand, using those tools in class made the assignments exciting and more memorable!
