Lotus was born on April 21st 1995 and lived in Germany for most of her life. She attends the Durmstrang Institute for her magical education but decides to move around after her graduation and open her own magical graphic design business. With her grandfather being the famous wandmaker, Mykew Gregorovitch, she naturally has an affinity for design and transfiguration, although, Garrick Ollivander would likely deny that she inherited her keen eye for aesthetics from him.

Pain. Earth shattering pain. That was what you felt as you watched Thena's glittering sword pierce through your suit. You cried out, but only for a second before your vocal cords were silenced by the blood that pooled in your throat.
You felt yourself choking, before your vision began to fade, Druigs scream filled every inch of your mind before it all went silent. Oh, so eerily silent.
The next thing you know, you felt your body tingle before your eyes shot open, the cosmic air around you instantly filling your lungs.
"Y/N." A deep voice boomed, catching you off guard before you could take in where you were.
It was Arishem. You didn’t recognize him, but you just knew deep in your soul that’s who was before you. You looked down to see his gigantic hand beneath you. Behind you was the planet you were just on- earth- spinning slowly. Panic spread through you as you began to piece everything together.
Druig flooded your mind, and your stomach sank as you realized how quickly he was taken from you- or rather how quickly you were taken from him. You would never see him again, never see his beautiful face, feel his hands wrapped around you. Tears welled up in your eyes, as the memories played like a movie in your mind.
Suddenly, your hands were bound behind your back, and a sharp needle began to pierce through the skin around your lips, as cosmic string began sewing your mouth shut. You cried out, the needle-point pain making you sweat. Previous thoughts of Druig were cast aside for the moment, as you tried to process what was happening.
"Y/N. You have failed your mission."
Failed your mission? You thought to yourself. You weren't given one besides fighting alongside the Eternals- which you did until they turned on you. You began to panic some more, tugging at the strings that bound your arms.
"You can struggle all you want, but there is no use. You cannot escape cosmic strings. They cannot be broken by anyone but a celestial. You were sent to divide the Eternals apart, which you have done successful. But you were not supposed to die. You were supposed to be stronger than that- stronger than them. Something, or someone, distracted you. I could kill them-"
You cut Arishem off, attempting to scream behind the strings in protest at him killing Druig. He didn’t have to say his name, you knew exactly who he meant. Arishem chuckled.
"But I won't. He is needed for the Emergence. Instead, you will wait on cyro until the time is right, where you will train harder with the greatest army, until you prove you are ready to return to Earth and help summon the Emergence. I will let you keep your memories on one rather simple condition…” he paused, dramatically, his fire-lit eyes boring deep into your soul before he continued.
“You stay Loyal To Me.”
𝑺𝑮𝑨𝑹𝑫- 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟏 𝑪𝑬
“Lady Y/N! It’s nice to see you again,” a voice came from behind you. You turned around, the armor you wore clanking as you did so, to see Thor Odinson walking down the hall.
“Thor, what a lovely surprise,” you smiled, nodding your head ever so slightly.
It had been centuries since Arishem had cut the cosmic string that once bound you to silence. After unthawing you from the Cyro, he sent you through the Bifrost to Asgard, your new home. You began in their army, working through the ranks until you fought alongside Lady Sif and the warriors three, Thor, and Loki.
Odin also had entrusted you with other missions, secretive ones that no one knew about, no one but your best friend, Loki.
“You cannot tell anyone Loki, I mean it,” you had said sternly, grabbing his wrist tightly. His eyes met yours, boring into your soul, before they softened. If it had been anyone else, absolutely anyone else at all, he would have used this knowledge to his advantage. But because it was you, pleading him so desperately to keep this to himself, he swore he’d never let anyone find out. He had a secret of his own… He would have done anything for you, anything at all, because his love for you knew no bounds. But he’d never tell, he knew the love you had for Druig ran deep in your soul.
“I won’t tell a soul; you can trust me.” He had responded, resting his hand gently atop of yours, giving you a small smile.
You were entrusted with a grave family secret, the knowledge of Hela, Odin’s first born, and the destruction of the Valkyrie- Asgards’ elite female warriors. One remains: Brunnhilde, and it was your job to find her. So far, you had had no luck. Wherever she was, it had to be the furthest corner of the universe.
“Where are you headed? I’ll escort you,” Thor offered politely, after pulling you in for a long hug. You had just returned from a long expedition to find Brunnhilde, but you came up empty. You were on your way to inform Odin when Thor stopped you.
“That’s okay, I got my trusty steel, I think I’ll be okay,” you winked. Thor know you could easily take him in a fight, your powers- thanks to Loki- were fully in your control now, making you an easily undefeated target.
“Ah, that you will Lady Y/N. Do find me after you’re done, it’s a big day and I’d like my friend by my side!”
You mentally slapped yourself, you almost forgot. It was Thor’s coronation.
“Of course I’ll be there, Thor! I shouldn’t be long,” you said, smiling brightly as Thor nodded his head, before turning back down the hallway.
Once he was around the corner, you took a deep breath and headed for Odin’s meeting chambers. The guards stationed outside opened the doors, letting you in. The room was dark, covered almost entirely in gold and bronze décor. The candles gave the room a hazy atmosphere, the golden statues twinkling around the room. The room didn’t scream business, it screamed comfort, something you realized Odin prided in a bit too much.
“Lady Y/N, how was your trip?” Odin asked, his voice echoing off the golden walls.
“It was alright. There were no signs of Brunnhilde anywhere though. I think she may be gone, Odin, with all due respect. I’ve looked across the entire universe.”
“I suppose. Maybe it is time to give up searching. I appreciate your exhausted effort Lady Y/N, it does not go unnoticed. If we still had the Valkyrie, I know you would make an excellent fit.” Odin complimented. You bowed your head slightly, before taking your leave of the room.
The second the door closed, Loki materialized next to you, making you jump back your hand finding your sword next to you.
“Jesus Loki,” you said when you realized it was just him. “Don’t do that.”
“I couldn’t help it,” he smirked, before pulling you into a hug. “I’ve missed you,” he whispered gingerly in your ear. “It’s been so boring without you.”
“You’re telling me there wasn’t something you could have done to pass the time?” You giggle, knowing full well he spent the time playing pranks on Thor.
“It wasn’t the same without you. Anyways how serious are you about going to my brothers’ coronation, because I had an idea…” Loki trailed off as the two of you began to walk towards the great hall where the ceremony was going to take place.
“Loki, you know I have to be there for him.”
“Yes, but, it’s going to be dreadful,” Loki tried again to get you to not show. You gave him a quizzical look as you tried to read through him.
“What are you up to?” You asked, staring him down.
“Absolutely nothing, I don’t know what you mean?”
“Mhm. Well, we’re going. End of discussion,” you commanded, just in time to stop in front of the doors to the hall. Loki rolled his eyes, before following you in.
You found your place next to Lady Sif, as Loki made his way to the side near the throne Odin had set up in here. They had cleared out the long tables, making the area standing room only.
As the coronation began, you caught Loki looking at you, a guilty look on his face. An unsettling feeling began to wash over you, as you mouthed: what did you do?
The rest of the coronation, and the events after were hazy to you; it all happened so suddenly. One minute, Thor was being honored and the next you were on the icy frost giants, fighting their men as Thor took revenge for them invading Asgard.
The cold, bitter air pierced through your skin. As you stepped to the side, hiding behind one of the frozen rocks, you noticed Loki off in the distance, one of the Frost Giants had him by the arm. His skin turned pale blue, just like the giant who held him. Your eyes grew wide, and before you knew what was happening, your head slammed into the rock you stood in front of, instantly blacking you out.
When you returned to Asgard you were in the infirmary for all of twenty minutes, before the healers deemed you were back to normal. You were on your way to find Loki, to talk to him about what you saw when you heard Odin’s voice booming through the halls.
“You are unworthy of these realms, you are unworthy of your title, you are unworthy of the loved ones you have betrayed! I now take from you your power! In the name of my father and his father before, I, Odin Allfather, cast you out!”
Thor protested but was cut short by guards dragging him out of the throne room to the Bifrost entrance.
“Y/N!” He yelled when he saw you, struggling against the guards. You called after him, but the guards had already rounded the corner. Shit, you thought to yourself. You had to make a decision quickly: find Loki or find Thor.
“Lady Y/N,” You whirled around to face Odin.
“Where is Thor going?” You asked hesitantly.
“To Earth, where I’m about to send his hammer. He must learn his lesson.”
“And what lesson is that? You know he only did what he thought was best-“
“Ah! That’s the problem, it wasn’t what was best for the realms, it was what was best for himself!” Odin yelled, cutting you off and catching you off guard. You stumbled back a few steps. In all your centuries here, Odin had never raised his voice at you. You could see the instant regret in his eyes, but you quickly bowed your head to him, before leaving.
Later that evening, you found yourself beside Lady Sif and the warriors in front of the Bifrost. When Thor was casted out, Odin had fallen into a deep sleep, making Loki temporary king. Lady Sif had stood before him, pleading to bring Thor back, but the Loki on the throne was not your best friend. He was different, callous, and cold. You had looked at him with utter disgust when he threw the group out of the throne room.
“Who are you?” You questioned.
“What do you mean?” He asked, leaning forward, attempting to be intimidating. You stepped right up to the throne, walking up the shallow steps until you were truly face to face.
“You don’t scare me. I don’t know who you are, or what you’ve done with my Loki, but I will figure it out.” You sneered. He smirked, looking at you dead on as he leaned over to the guards.
“Cast her out too.”
Your face dropped, the anger rising inside of you. The sky began to darken outside, thunder rumbling through the castle.
“Ah, ah, careful now darling, you’re getting dangerously close to treason, something that would cast you out for good.” Loki smirked, before motioning for the guards to take you.
“This isn’t over!” You screamed, as they dragged you down to the Bifrost.
Heimdall gave you a sympathetic look, a nod that said he was on your side, and activated the rainbow bridge. Not even a second later the guards pushed you in.
You woke up with an all too familiar feeling washing over you. Everything ached, down to your bones. You groaned as you opened your eyes. The sun was high in the sky, there was green grass beneath you. You soon realized you were in an oasis of grass, with a small river down the bottom of the hill you were on.
“Where the hell?” You asked yourself, looking around confused. Where the hell did you send me Heimdall?
Earth. The thought was loud in your head as Heimdall answered.
A sudden dark feeling washed over you. Earth… the last time you were on this planet you lost everything: the love of your life, your best friend, and your life.
That dark feeling turned into rage as the pain lingered in your body, your soul aching. The whispers that once filled your head on this planet suddenly returned, only they weren’t evil this time… no, you recognized this voice. It was light and bubbly, echoing it slightly as if they were in a vacant space.
The more you listened, the more you focused, the clearer the voice became…
Sersi.
A/N: if this felt rushed I do apologize, I did slightly rush this to spare you from recapping the events of Thor 1 that we all know very well!

Numerology Life Path 6 - Your Birth Card and its Ruling Planet
Numerology Life Path Numbers and their assigned Tarot Card Meaning Series
This is a post in my new astrology/numerology/tarot series, that only concerns you, if you are a Life Path 6. Posts on consecutive Life Path Numbers will follow. Originally, I wanted to do them all in one post, but my writing turned out to be so long, I decided to split the post and seperate the Life Path Numbers. The introduction part of the post will be the same for all Life Path Numbers, in case you only read a post about your own Life Path Number, and nothing else.
Introduction
The concept of a Birth Card links Tarot and Numerology together, in order to deepen our understanding of a vibration of a Life Path Number we are born with. The Birth Card, or rather Birth Cards, are Major Arcana Tarot Cards with assigned numbers, which correlate with Life Path Numbers. Understanding the meaning of tarot cards, mixed with the knowledge of Numerology Vibrations, helps create a more unique vision of your life experience.
A person with any given Life Path Number, having several Major Arcana energies present in their lives, usually struggles with one of the energies more than the other. As a result, life will probably force them to focus on mastering one of these energies. In general, however, any Life Path describes both your biggest downfall and ultimate triumph - just like with an Astrology Chart, the highlighted numbers/astrology houses point to your biggest strengths and weaknesses. For a better understanding of this concept, visit my article “Natal Chart - A map of your issues?”
Remember, that everyone, besides their Life Path Number and Birth Card also has a unique astrology chart. Thus, for some people embracing the higher expression of their energy is easier, for others it’s harder and it takes more time to master, and some energies become easier to deal with than others. Most human beings are somewhere in between, working on their path and having some achievements while struggling with difficulties at the same time.
In the spiritual community, there are differences in opinion on linking Astrological Planets and positions to specific numerology numbers energies. My take is a result of my own personal experience, conversations with other people in my field and research, in order to give you the widest possible spectrum of ideas and increase the understanding of every Life Path Number.
If you are a Master Number 11, 22 or 33, there will be a seperate post on how the Birth Cards apply to you as well.
Even If you have only a basic understanding of Astrology, Tarot or Numerology, this post will still be helpful to you, because it describes the unique vibrational mix that comes from the expression of both these spiritual sciences mixed together. Life Path 6 - The Lovers and The Devil
Life Path 6 is ruled by the mirroring, balancing energies of Venus. There can be a lot of confusion due to that number being associated with the Devil Tarot Card, having such a scary sounding name, and with Venus and Lovers being mixed into all this at the same time. However, this comes from lack of understanding of the actual nature of Venus as a planet and its dualistic energy.
In life path 6, we cross the barrier between the self and the other. 6 comes after 5, and in 5 we have reached the apex of accumulating what we have within and we went to the final stage of sharing all that we have and all that we are outside. In 6, we take it a step further, as our energetic centers open up to the outside world in new ways due to the continuous exchange that occurred in the 5, as we freely share all our energetic material with others.
This conflict leads to the death of the ego. Venus represents surrendering of our egotism, but it is not an easy process, since we associate our sense of "self" with survival and security. This is the source of The Devil Tarot card ruling this number. The Devil is the unknown, the control that the ego has over us, keeping us prisoner, as per the graphic representation in the traditional Tarot Deck. Thus, in number 6 we experience the scariest illusion-shattering and confrontation through other parties, which exposes our weaknesses and shows how easily we are manipulated by external influences.
There can be no passage to the harmonious, balancing stage in The Lovers before passing the test of surrender in The Devil. That surrender is the only thing, that frees us from his grasp. The Devil controls the material realm and Venus is materialistic in nature as well. Venus relishes in surface-level, materialistic pleasure, and The Devil reminds us how easily we can become a slave to it, if we don't hold the consciousness of the illusory nature of the satisfaction these pleasures give us.
As a Life Path 6, your task is to be able to enjoy the pleasures in your life and relationships, while holding the truth close to your heart. The purpose of all connections in this Universe is true harmony and symbiosis. This Life Path is a testing point, that reveals your true colors and can force you to make some uncomfortable decisions. The Shadow Aspect of this Life Path is being blinded to the bliss of intimate union and staying at a surface level. Venus is also prone to conforming to others' opinions on a shallow level without really listening to them or being deeply invested, for the sake of smoothing the waters. This difficult aspect of Life Path 6 once again leads to The Devil - being controlled through illusions, because of the reciprocal, malleable nature of Venus. However, an experienced Life Path 6 embraces the scary process of setting themselves free from their ego and learns to truly surrender to the other, which is rewarded in the harmony that we experience in The Lovers.
Through the associated Tarot Cards, we learn how to navigate the energies of Life Path 6.
The Devil - The task here is to be in control of material illusions and not let them blind you, as you experience the pleasure. Realise their temporary, superficial nature. You may be reaping some karmic rewards in this incarnation, but you are also being put to the test, and thus you need to preserve the necessary balance. Venus is easily influenced and swayed by others, so the need for rationality is even more pronounced in face of greater temptation. However, you can't truly prove yourself without having a testing experience to use as a measuring stick, so thank this card for being the ultimate tool of spiritual progress for you.
The Lovers - This is the easier aspect of Venus, that we experience as a response to passing the ardorous spiritual tests of temptation in the previous stage. The Lovers give us the gift of balance, harmony, unity, compromise and merging between opposites through pronounced tolerance. In The Lovers, we know how to abandon selfishness, coming from a place of true compassion, and thus we achieve the state of Cosmic perfection in blissful union with another. The key difference between conformism and love is authentic connection, coming from an open heart space, as opposed to creating an illusion for the sake of gaining approval.
The key word for a Life Path 6 is honesty. If you stay true to yourself and to others, and you express it from a vulnerable place inside yourself, the scales will automatically tip towards the balancing energy you possess inside. Remember, that you have the power not only to be swayed by illusions, but also to create them in front of others. Use this power responsibly, not for your own benefit but for the sake of creating an intimate, mutual experience of complete acceptance and harmony. Don't let the pleasures of worldly experiences sway you from your spiritual mission, which is as real as for any other Life Path Number. There is depth to be found in the expression of every Number, and you are the spiritual gateway between One and Oneness. You have the key power to make heavy cosmic decisions as a ritual of passage, and with this power comes responsibility.

Today, the House of Jean Paul Gaultier is relaunching its ready-to-wear line after a hiatus of six years. It comes 16 months after fashion’s “Maestro of Mehmed”, as journalist Georgina Howell dubbed her in the early ’90s, took her final bow as the brand’s designer, implying that this iteration of its namesake. will not be designed. Instead, the reins are taken over by a dedicated team from their atelier, with help crafted from the rotating doors of some of the most independent designers working today – Palomo Spain, Ottolinger, Nix Lecourt Mansion, Alan Crosetti and Marvin M’Tumo .
Since starting his own label in 1976, Jean Paul has been instrumental in turning underwear into acceptable outerwear, making sailor fashion sexy and, more generally, paving the way for designers to experiment with diverse and unexpected castings on the runway. have been responsible for. He also dedicated an entire collection – AW97 – to the fight against racism. The collection, titled ‘Fight Racism’, featured graphic prints of young anti-fascists with slogans printed on their chests.
In fact, with such a rich history behind it, and vintage JPGs becoming increasingly collectible since the recent renaissance—partly stemming from the Kardashians’ love of all things net—more thanks to the label’s revival. Couldn’t be the right time- the line to wear from now. Although it is a well-known fact that Jean Paul himself decided to step back from the category in 2014 after a somewhat tumultuous feud with Florence Tetier (graphic designer and co-founder). November MagazineNow serving as the brand’s creative and brand director, Ghar is poised to enter the field again. in an interview with WWDJPG’s general manager, Antón Gégy, described the relaunch as an opportunity to “celebrate Jean Paul Gaultier, its values, its archives and its history”. And what better way to raise the glass to the core of fashion? Horrible Instead look at seven of the most show-stopping moments from its most iconic era, the ’90s. Long live Gaultier!

Madonna’s Conical Corset from the Blonde Ambition Tour, 1990
Back in 1989, when Jean-Paul Gaultier was told by an assistant that Madonna had told the audience, she was convinced that he was playing a trick with her. They knew how obsessed he was with her, just could not do be true But she soon found herself on the phone to the original queen of pop, making a match in ’90s fashion heaven. Naturally, Madonna already knew what she wanted: to create something for her that surrounded Jean Paul’s signature masculine-feminine crossover. Inspired by his love of the late ‘queen of Paris punk’ Edwij Belmore, Jean Paul conceived a pinstripe suit – the top of ’80s manhood – and a corset with the now famous conical bra, which he designed six years ago on AW84 had started for. /85.

Eva Herzigova’s cut-out dress, 1992
Thought harnesses were a new thing on the runway? Wrong! After all, you’re not known as a fashionista Horrible Without a sprinkling of kinks here and there, as this look proves well. Presented on JPG’s AW92 runway, this dress, so slick in its fit that clothes can even put on Eva’s body, exemplifies the powerful-yet-playful take on sexuality that serves as a throughline throughout the French designer’s body of work. runs as. Styled with bicep-clad opera gloves and proudly crafting the Czech-Italian supermodel’s bust, there’s a distinctive dome-y tone at play here, though no compromise on the beauty of the silhouette or the quality of the make. It speaks to an ideological throughline that runs through Jean Paul’s work – that no matter who a woman is or wants to be, she always has the right to be chic!

Houndstooth bodysuit inspired by Leigh Bowery, 1991
In an interview with iD in 2018, Jean Paul declared his love for the “London Way”, which means “just creating your own style, your own creativity and being free to do what you want to do”. When he took the idea back to Paris, it wasn’t very popular, but that didn’t stop him from creating his own trademark approach to design. He spent his youth in the 80s at famous London nightclubs such as Blitz and Heaven, where he met performance artist Leigh Bowery. In a nod to Bowery’s influence on fashion, Jean Paul sent down his interpretation of the Leigh Bowery Houndstooth bodysuit—which would later inspire Alexander McQueen for AW09 and Gareth Pugh for SS07.

‘Chic Rabbi’ Collection, 1993
For AW93/94, Jean Paul presented the ‘Chic Rabbi’ collection, inspired by the traditional dress of Hasidic Jews. Models in streamels and black suits danced to the sounds of a violinist who played live on the catwalk. The usual circle of supermodels was there, but Jean Paul also decided to cast someone who visually embodied the cultural context: a man with a big beard. During the ’80s and ’90s, designers were known for their casting choices, pioneering their diversity. “I’m fascinated by strong personalities, people who capture my imagination because they walk well down the street,” Gaultier explained in a 2014 interview. “Showing just one type of girl is a flaw,” he adds, “something I’ve always fought with. One kind of beauty – no. If I show a bigger girl, I’ll always show a younger girl.” will show.” It is now legend that Gaultier once posted an advertisement in a French daily newspaper release Looking for “atypical” models, saying that “facial distortions should not be avoided in application”.

Mesh Tattoo Top, 1993
Back in 1993, the trend Declared this prestigious collection as “a startling vision of cross-cultural harmony”. While we’d be inclined to cringe at the somewhat reasonable look now that Jean Paul drove down the runway for the SS94 (which can actually be read as another nod to Leigh Bowery) it certainly Historical perspective. It also marked the debut of Jean Paul’s iconic mesh tops, which were inspired by a tattoo convention he once found himself spinning around – today, they are some of his most sought-after designs. The collection also includes heavy notes of punk, grunge, and 18th century men’s frock coats made in Jodhpur and denim in the typical JPG style. How did he ever find the place for all this?!

Björk!, 1994
Jean Paul’s celebrity friends don’t start and end with Madonna. A year after Björk’s properly titled debut solo album, First entry, Taking the music and fashion worlds by storm, she appeared on the designer’s AW94/95 show, about a magical train that stopped in a small village somewhere high in some mountains. And what, duh?! As you’d expect from JPG, the show was a mish-mash this time in terms of different styles of traditional arctic costume. The models trotted down the snow-covered runway (which almost tripped Kate Moss), decked out in a hell of a lot of fur, silk, wool, and leather.

Op-Art Inspired Catsuit, 1995
Two women riding a motorcycle hit them. One of them descends and climbs onto a loft at a DJ booth. Jean Paul’s AW95 ‘Mad Max’ Show Has Started. As he was in the middle of designing the costumes for Luc Besson’s famous film fifth element In which Bruce Willis and Milla Jovovich fight a mysterious cosmic force, they had science-fiction in mind, which means it was technology and cyber-heavy. The bodysuit inspired by Viktor Vasarelli’s op-art paintings became the show’s most memorable aspect—now made super collectible by Kim K and Cardi B and partly responsible for the JPG-madness we’re seeing on Depop these days. Also on the show was Carmen Dell’Orefice, who walked with a live falcon on her arm and sported ornate football armor that lit up like a circuit board. Really prestigious.

trompe l’oeil torso top, 1995
The next season, Jean Paul took his quest for sci-fi polka dots further, this time translating it into menswear. This time, however, he brought his knack for trompe l’oeil print placement to the table—skills he had previously flexed in the aforementioned Les Tautouzes, and even as early as 1992, when he sculpted the enviable Presented Printed Mesh Top with Toros. The look sported here by Tanel Bedrossiantz is perhaps a little more figurative in its approach, though no less direct is its infrared-style suggestion of what might lie beneath the longtime house muse’s button-down shirt.

JPG Set Sale, 1998
In a promo video for JPG’s new ready-to-wear line, Bella Hadid is wearing a big red ship on her head. In case you didn’t already know, it debuted at the Haute Couture SS98 show, where it takes us back to the Age of Enlightenment. It was a time of scientific progress, the advent of modern capitalism and of course colonialism. The ‘explorers’ were sailing around the world from Europe, ‘discovering’ new lands for them – a ship serving as a nod to the continent’s shameful past. Some say, however, that it was during the Enlightenment that the fashion we know today – as a form of self-expression that can be accessed by the public – first began to emerge, making the historical period a fashion show. became an ideal subject. .

Man Himself!, 1992
Sure enough, to write a list of Jean Paul Gaultier’s most iconic looks from his most iconic decade, and not for the man himself. Indeed, as Florence Tetier spoke to her before the label’s launch, “Everybody knows who she is!” whether it’s his striped Whether paired with a pleated black skirt or, as seen here, a denim vest and a punkish tartan kilt, JPG’s personal style has made her one of the most instantly recognizable designers of our time. **Content Warning for this chapter: mention & slight evidence of torture/abuse during a kidnapping; blood warning; minor violence; mention of death (no character deaths). None of these are graphic.**
Summary: Day 3: | REUNION | faith, loyalty, optimism, resilience.
A/N: A lot of what I wrote, is speculation for the episodes to come for the rest of this season. It also shows my hope that Gregory Manes is in fact a good guy and Flint Manes can be redeemed.
I hope you enjoy the last chapter of this fic for Missing Alex Manes Weekend! I really enjoyed writing something that was a bit different for me. But you should always know, with angst will always come to a happy ending full of hope. Thank you for reading!
To you Alex Manes: I love you very much.
Ch. 3: Fit Together with You
Alex flutters his eyes open, feeling a searing slash of pain from his head.
All he sees is darkness. He is unable to make out any features around him.
Where am I?
Trying to make sense of everything, he calculates strategically the surrounding area.
Why would someone want… him? Was he getting a bit too close to something? Did this have to do with the aliens of 1947? Did this have to do with Michael?
His hands are bound, but he tries to feel the ground. Cold hard pavement.
He will find a way out. He owes it to himself and the love he has for Michael.
Alex will not go without a fight.
***
Michael thought he understood fear after a lifetime of hopelessness. But fear was finally understood when Alex Manes was gone.
Alex had been kidnapped, and his brain had short-circuited any reason or patience.
When he had been searching location after location without a trace, that was when the fear settled in as well as the realization he couldn't lose Alex.
This human boy had taught him so much, not just what love truly meant, but learning about who he was and what he wanted from this life here on earth.
He fell in love early on with Alex in high school, staring constantly at the way Alex’s eyes fluttered when he got into his music. He was so talented and Michael admired him from a distance for so long.
But Alex had offered not only a safe haven to call his own, but his heart as well.
Michael for the first time in his life felt what having a family could feel like.
The two of them had made mistakes, more times than he could possibly count, but they kept coming back to one another in a way cosmic lovers would.
Alex was the shooting star in his night sky and together they made the constellation of peace, love, and hope.
It was the melody he had heard every single time Alex had played on his guitar. Quite honestly, it was the most moving moment of his life.
These were the thoughts that swirl in Michael’s mind as he searches all of Roswell. He would travel to heaven and hell to find one simple clue to Alex's well being.
After hours of nothing, he receives a phone call. It’s Gregory Manes.
***
Bright lights shine in his eyes, and Alex swallows, “Who are you?”
There is shuffling and Alex knows there are multiple people around him. He can’t make out faces but he can see figures standing around.
Finally, a deep unfamiliar voice says, “You’ll know in time. This is for the greater good.”
“What are you talking about?”
“We know who you are, Alex Manes, and who you associate with. That is, what you associate with. We will have answers.”
So this was about aliens.
Alex isn't clear on much of this situation, but one thing is crystal clear: He will protect Michael Guerin with his last dying breath.
***
Michael had always been right about Gregory Manes. He was the next best Manes after Alex.
The guy was good. He cared about his younger brother, more than even Michael had realized. He didn’t fit the mold that Jesse had once created for their last name.
Gregory had also found out Alex was missing when he had come to visit Roswell. He too had entered Alex’s house and went on his own search when he had seen the evidence of a struggle.
Apparently, he had inquired information from their other brother Flint, who wasn’t always the guy you’d want watching your back. But Michael also thought there was more to Flint than meets the eye.
After hours of figuring information out, they had all come to terms with the fact this wasn’t Jesse’s doing, much to all their surprise.
It was another puzzle Michael realized, that he didn’t know how to fit back together. Story of his life.
***
They ask questions; he doesn’t answer.
He’s hit, repeatedly; he’s had worse.
They press further; he doesn’t cry out.
Their frustration grows; he stands his ground.
They use fear and hate; he uses resilience and love.
***
Michael refuses to give up, he can't.
His phone rings and he looks down. It’s Isobel now.
“Iz?”
“It’s Alex.”
“I know...I’ve been searching for him with Greg,” Michael says as his eyes fill with tears. No use trying to stop them. “We can’t find him. Anywhere.”
He looks at Alex’s brother who is now driving his truck, and his brother looks as solemn as he feels.
“Michael, listen to me!” Isobel exclaims on the other side, “I know where Alex is!”
***
Alex’s whole body aches and he finally lets a moan escape his lips. He’s not sure how much more he can handle. He’s tough, but hell, he’s only human after all.
Whatever these things are...he's not entirely sure they are human. However, feeling delirious will do that to a person. He can no longer make sense of it all.
It’s been hours, and Michael never leaves his mind.
Michael is his anchor that keeps him tethered to his strength; it keeps him grounded and sane. He’s grateful even though his alien isn’t even there.
Truthfully though, Michael is always with him.
It all seems so trivial now; their arguments the inability to connect through the pain.
If only they both had foreseen this future, maybe they would have communicated what they had wanted so much sooner.
Being at rock bottom will do that to a person though. Your regrets, your mistakes, all of it, comes crashing into you like a current in the ocean.
These thoughts stay in Alex's mind. He realizes he probably won’t make it through the night. But at least he will go knowing he didn’t budge; he kept Michael’s identity and whereabouts hidden, as well as his pod siblings.
Some things are worth dying for.
As he allows himself to lean against the wall and close his swollen eyes, he hears a commotion outside the cold dark room he’s kept in.
There is yelling, a boom, and screaming.
He can’t make sense of it; he doesn’t have the energy to even try.
But that’s when he hears it, the most beautiful sound in the world.
Michael’s voice.
He found me, Alex realizes as he finally breaks. The tears run down his cheeks as he succumbs to darkness.
***
Isobel, that brilliant-not-by-blood-sister of his, was right! She had given them a location, something that she had seen when she had gone to Alex’s house.
Isobel had touched the floor where Alex had fallen, and that’s when she had a vision. The warehouse had been clearer than the light of day, and she explained it perfectly.
It was miles out of Roswell, but luckily, Michael knew exactly the one. He had driven past it many times over the years.
Gregory is by his side as they enter the location. Michael does not see who the people are that took Alex because their faces are covered, but that doesn’t stop him from throwing them against the walls. Hard.
Michael knows he's probably just given away his identity. He just doesn't care.
His anger is unmatched at this moment.
Gregory stops and looks at him with a look of shock, but Michael just shrugs and keeps on moving. There is no time to talk about the “what are you and where did you come from?” speech.
Unfortunately, whoever they are, escape quickly, but his number one mission and priority is to find Alex.
They will be dealt with later, that much is certain. A vow of his for the mere fact that they ever thought they could touch Alex Manes.
Gregory yells at him to come over and he sees a locked door against the metal wall. Gregory gives Michael the look with a bit of hesitation.
Michael opens it easily with his powers and scopes out the room quickly.
Alex.
His stomach falls as he sees Alex crumpled in the corner of the small room. Michael almost collapses, but Gregory steadies him.
Alex’s brother rushes over to his younger brother’s side, clearly checking for a pulse.
Michael has never felt this before. Before when trying to find Alex, he was on a mission. But this… this is different. If Alex is not okay, Michael will not make it. He knows this to be true. They are too connected and intertwined.
He won’t survive that type of pain.
So he’s stuck. Unmoving. He literally cannot breathe.
“He has a pulse,” Gregory calls out, which adds faith and hope back into Michael’s life. “It’s weak though. We have to get him to a doctor.”
“Valenti,” Michael replies, still scared to see Alex and the damage they caused the love of his life. “Kyle Valenti. He’ll help.”
“Here,” Gregory exclaims as he rushes over, “let me talk to him.” Michael punches in the number for the good Doctor and gives his phone to Greg. The guy looks over at Alex, and his eyes are full of sadness, “Go be with him. He needs you, Michael.”
Gregory leaves the room for a moment and Michael can hear him talking to Kyle.
Slowly, as if in a dream...a nightmare, Michael walks over to Alex.
He bends down and starts to cry instantly as he takes in Alex. All the emotions he has felt searching for Alex and the horrific outcome of this reality is too much.
The bruises are all over Alex. He’s swollen and bloody. Not Alex. God, no. Not to Alex….
Michael lifts Alex’s hand up gently and sees damage there as well. “I’m so sorry, Alex.” He cannot stop crying. The heavy sobs leave his body as he trembles uncontrollably. Michael realizes he’s not just crying because of what happened to Alex, he’s sorry for the way he has treated Alex over the last few months. He took Alex for granted and now here his love is, broken and in pieces right before him. “I’m so damn sorry.”
He bends down and kisses Alex’s battered forehead. That’s when Alex moans. He squeezes Alex’s hand softly, “Alex! Alex, I’m here. I’m here. I won’t leave...I’ll never leave you again.”
Alex squeezes his hand back.
***
It takes Alex a while to heal, but luckily with the help of Kyle, Michael, and his friends, he makes progress every single day.
It's both mental and physical healing he needs and that in itself, takes time.
The group continues digging deeper to try to figure out who took him. It’s nice to see everyone working together for a change. He’s wanted that for some time. Maybe that was the good of being taken after all; they stopped taking each other for granted.
As far as Michael, he never leaves his side. That gesture doesn’t annoy him though, if anything, it’s beyond comforting and welcoming.
Neither of them is walking away. They prove that more and more each day.
Michael is generous and gives him space and time, not expecting anything. It means so much to him.
But he does give Alex several hugs a day; clinging on to him tightly as if to make sure Alex is real. Alex gets his strength from Michael every time.
They finally have their breakfast and open up about it all, even the parts that hurt. But that was the point of healing, true healing. In doing that, they break the barriers of their cycle once created.
Their talk wasn't a one-time thing either; they talk for weeks and weeks, sometimes going late into the nights. The nights where they make each other laugh, are Alex's favorite. He realizes that even though during their time apart when they weren't together, they had been building that friendship all along.
Sometimes during these chats, he catches Michael just staring at him, and he can’t help but smile. Their love has only grown. Deeper than even he could have imagined it would.
One sunny morning, he decides to finish the song he has been working on. Alex is staying at the cabin that Jim left him. It offers peace and solace, especially if Michael is there. Which he is, always.
Alex smiles as he pulls his guitar out of the black case. It's funny how an object can cause so much joy. The gift of music was just that, a gift.
As he holds the guitar in his hands for the first time in a while, he closes his eyes from the comfort it brings. His fingers sometimes still ache, but he plays anyway.
He plays the trauma he grew up with, the pain, and the sorrow, but also the resilience and the strength to rise from the ashes. He adds the hope, faith, and love that Michael has brought into his life. The joy of friendship and unity as he sees his friends smiling back at him. And most importantly, he plays the love he feels for himself and the growth he has made, with a nod of gratitude in Forrest’s direction.
It is the melody of his life. The melody that makes him...Alex.
“That was so beautiful,” he hears softly behind him as he finishes.
Alex looks over to see Michael beautifully leaning against the doorframe holding two cups of coffee, his curls tousled from sleep.
“I hope I didn’t wake you, I know it’s early.”
Michael shakes his head, “Nah, it's the best alarm clock there is actually.” He walks over barefoot on the wooden porch and hands Alex a mug.
He sits down and looks at Alex with a genuine loving smile, “Truthfully though. It might’ve been the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard you play.”
“Thanks,” Alex replies with a smile of his own. “I’ve been working on it for…well, a very long time now.”
“Is it finished?” Michael asks. Alex looks deeper into those hazel eyes. Not for the first time around the guy, hope fills him up like a balloon. “I think it’s just the beginning of a very special story actually.”
Michael nods and takes Alex’s hand softly. “I hope to hear each chapter of that story then.”
Alex moves Michael’s healed hand to his lips and kisses it gently, “You are and will always be a huge part of this story, Michael. The story is a part of us.”
“You always have a way with words, Alex Manes.”
The words he has wanted to say every day are right there. They are the only words that truly matter when it comes to the alien sitting next to him, “Speaking of words, there are a few more important ones I need to say to you.”
Michael smiles once more as he leans in closer to Alex, “Please, tell me.”
Alex takes in this moment, never looking back, “I love you, too.”
Tears fill both of their eyes as they come together as those two pieces of their puzzle, finally fitting together as one as they kiss.
The missing piece was there all along.
Hope was the melody that would always bring their love home.

The Hope Cure || Morgan & Skylar
Location: Tower Music and Comics
People involved: @mor-beck-more-problems, @theskyeandsea
Hands idly tapping the side of her leg, Skylar waited outside of Tower Comics, her phone resting in the pocket of her jeans. She didn’t want to be scrolling through her phone when Morgan arrived, that would be rude, right? And it had been really nice of her to offer to visit the store with her in the first place. Skylar winced-- she really didn’t know much about what Morgan did and didn’t like, besides her Etsy things, magic, and some kind of hospital drama that had been playing when Skylar had visited her home. And here Morgan had invited her to go out and do something that she specifically enjoyed. Mmmm. She needed to be more attentive to other people; just because she was going through her own… situation, that didn’t mean she couldn’t try to help people. Sighing, she shook her head. Maybe next time she would invite Morgan to watch something at her place? Or try and help her with magic that didn’t involve knives. Mm. She’d figure it out. Noticing someone walking down the street in her peripheral vision, Skylar glanced up and she saw the other woman approach her. “Hey. Thanks for meeting me,” She said with a warm smile.
Morgan gave a wave and a big smile at Skylar as she approached. She’d lost track of whether exactly she’d given enough recompense for the debacle with the blood magic or if she was opening another door that would have to be balanced. With the kids in town, it was easier to give, send energy outwards in little ways, than to take their compassion, their understanding. Those were precious gifts, gifts that curses might take notice of. But either way, Morgan needed a break. So did Skylar. There were enough angsts and traumas to go around in this place-- maybe they really could just help each other, and this whole thing could even out to zero without causing much of a cosmic stir. That would be okay, right?
“Hey!” She said, coming closer now. “Of course! I’ve been needing to get out of the house. It’s an awful time of the semester. But I guess you know that from the kids you work with too. Why don’t you show me around?”
Nodding at Morgan’s words, Skylar let out a sigh. “Yeah… That’s a fair point. There’s a lot that’s been going on lately. It’s been keeping me on my toes.” Though she wasn’t a teacher, she was getting used to the shifts in mood with her students. Now that most of the big holidays were over, the younger kids were counting down the days for spring break and her high schooler was stressing over his up-coming SAT test. So, there was a lot going on, on top of all the general… weirdness happening outside of work. “Mhm, for sure.” She said, holding open the door for Morgan before slipping inside. The comforting smell of the comic shop welcomed her, of old paper and a slight scent of dust gathering on some of the old records that lay on the other side of the shop. “So, there’s a bunch of serialized comics over here, some manga in that section, and then graphic novels. They’ve got a really great selection.” Skylar said with a nod towards the shelves full of books, the tables laden with box after box of comic books.
The comic store had a comforting smell inside that but Morgan’s body more at ease. It was the same as libraries, as bookshops. Soft, cool paper and ink, bound and accessible. Knowledge, history, story. Morgan only had the vaguest of ideas about what made those categories distinct. There were a few famous titles she was familiar with, but most of it, especially the manga, was uncharted territory. “I know you said you like manga,” Morgan said, scanning the shelves. “Any recommendations? I still haven’t seen all of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, and uh, I saw Spirited Away once? When it first came out and everyone was talking about it. Not sure if that’s much to go on, though,” she said, smiling sheepishly. “How are you, by the way--?” She gave the question gently, as if that might make it lighter. Skylar had been through it lately, just as much as she had, and all the worse for being so young, and so much more on her own.
“I like a lot of different things, honestly. And the thing with manga, there’s all kinds of genres-- you have your basic fighting shounen stuff, slice of life romance, sci-fi fighting robot things, and some neat LGBTQ stuff too.” Skylar rambled as she led them towards the corner of manga. The typical books were out on full display, Naruto, Bleach, Blue Exorcist, things like that. But, she’d never really been too interested in the big action kinds of things. “Mmm. If you liked Spirited Away, you’d probably like some of the other Hayao Miyazaki movies. I don’t know if they’d have it here, but he did a manga series for Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind. It’s worth checking out, either reading or watching.” She said with a nod. Focusing on the spines of the books in front of her, Skylar tilted her head as she mulled over the question. “I’ve been better.” She decided, as she pulled out one of the books from the shelf, looking over the cover for a moment. “But, I’m getting through things. One day at a time, you know? How about you?” She asked, turning to look at Morgan intently, “Are you doing okay?”
“Valley of the Wind?” Morgan repeated. “Sounds beautiful, just from the name.” She scanned the shelves, picking up pieces with artwork centered on magic, or gentle landscapes. Some of these seemed to just be about kids getting by, harmless trouble, and puttering along with ease. She could get on board with nestling up to one of those, if only to dream of everything being so easy. She looked sidelong at Skylar as she spoke. “Anything you feel like talking about?” She said, plucking up a book. “I can listen pretty good in person too, you know.” But of course, Skylar, sweet kid she was, wanted to know about her too. “I’m getting there. Pushing along, as we do. Still compiling information about my-- curse, thing. Knowledge really is power, but the picture it’s giving me isn’t a pretty one.”
“Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind,” Skylar said with a nod. “It’s a beautiful movie. It’s about a lot of different things, but I think it’s a story about the power of compassion.” She shrugged. The idea of facing adversity and suffering with kindness and understanding, it was… more applicable than she ever thought it would have been when she’d first watched the movie as a child. “Ah.” Biting the inside of her cheek, she shook her head. “Not really. Just, erm, trying to adjust. Still trying to deal with some of the, the fallout.” She said before turning her attention to the books. If she looked at the books, then Morgan wouldn’t see how watery her eyes were getting at just the thought of talking about her family right now. But, she couldn’t help but think about the lies, about her phone call to her mom, about how her phone calls never went through anymore. Skylar hummed, not entirely sure how to respond at first, “I’m sorry that it’s not going well. But… you’re one step closer to figuring things out, right?”
Morgan smiled, caught by the universe again, she thought. Compasion, kindness, suffering. She couldn’t seem to get away from those no matter what she told herself to the contrary. The people she met were too nice, too brave in the face of their suffering to be used or endangered recklessly. The longer she looked, the more imbalance she found, and there wasn’t enough energy or enough strength to hold or fix it all. If she could just get the shadow lifted from her shoulders, though, she could try. She could shove as many of them into her arms as possible. If she didn’t drown mysteriously in the river or get wrecked by a tornado or get trampled in the street or fall off a cliff like her ancestors had at various points in their cursed lives.
She caught the strain in Skylar’s voice and paused, looking over at her. “I’m sorry for you, too,” she said seriously. “They shouldn’t have lied.” She turned her attention back to the stacks, picking up another volume to look at later. They were trying to take a break, right? “And, uh, yeah I’m--building a timeline. I think it happened while my great-great grandmother was young. But the details are, it’s either in some record that didn’t know or care about any of them, or it’s some personal account that’s trying to put words to something you just can’t. You run out of ways to say your world broke, and why is this happening anyway? It’s endless. And you start to wonder if this is all just a bad trailer for the future, but--” She could deal. She would. She had to. “Knowledge is still power. I think that’s going to be true for both of us. So, found anything good?”
Eyes flitting over the covers of some of the manga, Skylar’s attention turned to an old classic. Neon Genesis Evangelion. Shinji, a character who’s entire purpose and abilities hinged upon something he feared and actively shied away from… A lump formed in the back of her throat. Mmm. There really was no getting away from things, was there? Swallowing, she met Morgan’s eyes for a brief moment as the woman spoke. “They shouldn’t have. But, they did. And now I’m trying to… deal with what it all means. It’s okay, though. I’ll be okay.” Skylar said with a timid smile. She’d told Remmy that it would be okay, she’d tried telling herself that it would be okay. But, the more and more she thought about it, how could things ever be okay? How could she ever be okay, when she wasn’t even human? She just… wanted to be normal.
Drawn out of her thoughts by Morgan’s own situation, Skylar focused in on the other woman’s words. A bad trailer for the future? “Morgan…” Reaching out, Skylar touched her shoulder gently, hoping that the gesture would provide some kind of comfort, “I’m sorry. You’ll find something, though. I know you will.” Clearing her throat, she slipped her hand back into the pocket of her jacket and shook her head. “Mm, not really. I’m kind of in a comic book mood. Have you ever read any comics?” She asked, leading the way towards the boxes of comic books, neatly organized and arranged.
Morgan instantly felt guilty for getting distracted enough to ramble to Skylar. This wasn’t hers to carry. Of course she wanted to, because she was kind and she knew, way too well, what it felt like to be alone, to feel outside of the world, to be the kind of tired that Morgan sometimes felt. Maybe that was why she’d slipped in the first place. She smiled with genuine softness at the girl’s gesture. “Thanks. And I’m still hopeful to, for the record. Things…aren’t always the way they should be, you know? But that doesn’t mean we give up. We owe it to ourselves to manifest the life we deserve, or at least, to try to, even if it’s an uphill climb.” But they would get there. Skylar would find her peace within herself, and Morgan would break her curse. They had to. What other options were there?
We owe it to ourselves to manifest the life we deserve. That was some deep stuff that Skylar really didn’t want to unpack right now. Because… what did she deserve? Her entire life, she’d been nothing but a burden on her family and now, the more of the truth she uncovered, the more she questioned things. “Mhm. We can’t give up.” She said with a nod. Even if she didn’t fully believe it, she had to try. Things would get better, they would. Walking over to the comic section of the store, she started going through some of the Marvel comics. Her fingers paused as she looked at the box labeled “X-men.” They were her favorite comic books, some of her favorite heroes came from those pages. Pulling one of the issues of the Astonishing X-men out of the box, she skimmed through the pages. The Hope Cure. Something that would cure the mutant, that would fix them. Make them human. “With curses, is there any tried and true method to breaking them? Or is it like a… case by case basis?”
Morgan leaned against the shelves and started poking through her small armload. Reading right to left was a heck of an adjustment. She didn’t notice Skylar’s attention wandering to the X-Men title, but listened and went on. “Oh, case by case, always,” she said. “Sometimes there’s something specific written into the spellcraft, and sometimes you can use one spell to undo another. There’s no one size fits all solution to anything. Mine’s complex enough that I can’t do anything without knowing what, exactly, was put into it. You can fall into some bad messes trying to put the wrong key in the wrong hole. It has to be done carefully.”
“Case by case.” Skylar echoed as she slid one of the comic books out of its protective sleeve and began to thumb through the issue. Her eyes fell on a particular speech bubble, a woman at a podium offering an answer, The mutant strain can be eliminated. Safely and irreversibly. There is such a thing as a second chance. A second chance. What she wouldn’t give for any kind of chance at a normal life. “How would one spell counteract another one? Wouldn’t that just make things worse?” She asked, still holding the open comic book. “That makes sense why you’re trying to sort everything out. It’s like… you need all the pieces of the puzzle before you can begin to put it together.” She said, hoping that the metaphor made sense. She wouldn’t pretend to understand any of this magic stuff, but this was the best way she could conceptualize any of this.
“Hm?” Morgan had been trying to work her way through a story about wolf siblings, but zoned out somewhere along recounting the various means of spell breaking. “Yeah, you need the whole picture, the history of the thing, and its intentions. If, say, your apartment was flooding from a leaky pipe, you could sop up the water in a room, but it wouldn’t be as helpful as finding the leak and fixing it. But, obviously, sometimes you really just need one room not flooded. A patch job is still a job. Not for me, but in general. And some spells were written just for, well, dispelling others. Voiding the bargain of another spell, basically.” She finally looked up enough to look at Skylar properly again. “Find anything interesting?”
Running her fingers along the panels of the comic book, Skylar mulled over Morgan’s words. If her situation could be compared to a leaking pipe, her entire apartment was underwater, all the pipes were burst, and she was just trying to keep afloat. But, if magic… if magic could do something about it, if a deal could be made, if something could be done to get rid of this… part of her. She was willing to try. “Is that another case by case situation? Or is it always a one-to-one kind of thing, like… if two people were cursed with a similar thing, would the same spell work on both of them? Or is the magic unique to the person and their situation? The, the intention?” Skylar asked, trying to use some of the wordage that Morgan had brought up. Slipping the comic back into its sleeve, Skylar shook her head. “Not really. Just an old issue I’ve read before.”
“Similar, not guaranteed; identical, yes,” Morgan said. She looked at Skylar thoughtfully, puzzled by her sudden interest in spellcraft. It was sweet, in its own way, trying to work her head around Morgan’s situation, even if she didn’t have the access to magic to do anything for her. “You don’t need to know all this stuff, though, okay? Magic is weird and complicated. There are so many pathways to achieve something, so many calculations, so much to balance--I could spend the rest of my life doing nothing else and still have more to learn at the end. It’s a lot, for anyone, and you already have so much, Skylar.” She smiled at the girl, touched by her efforts nonetheless. “But, if you’re that curious, I can try and explain the theory stuff to you. But, I’m still a way’s off from trying something big. Okay?”
Humming in understanding, Skylar’s eyebrows pinched together, brow furrowing. Mm. Maybe if she did research, if she tried to find other instances of things where people had been turned into animals and then cured-- Beauty and the Beast, Princess and the Frog, there had to be a grain of truth there, right? If Interview with A Vampire was real, there had to be something that could help her. “Hm?” Startled by Morgan’s gentle tone, Skylar blinked. Wait. She thought-- oh. “It’s okay, really. I want to know more about this. If I’m in this… I want to know as much as I can. And I want to help you, really.” She said. That part was true, she did want to help Morgan. She really did. The other woman’s situation was… awful. Tragic, even, in a way that she could never fully understand. So, if she could help Morgan while also getting some answers towards her own… cure, everyone would be a winner. Right? “Theory sounds good to me.” Skylar said with a nod.
But you aren’t in this, Skylar, Morgan thought. You can’t be. But the girl wouldn’t understand that, would she? She would see someone else hiding something, or pushing her away, and it wouldn’t matter that she was doing it to keep a cosmic target off her back, the fact of it would hurt enough. If Morgan were truly her mother’s daughter, she might withhold everything, even her support altogether. But she couldn’t do that now any more than she had been able to as a child. She knew the sting of being on the receiving end too intimately to stomach inflicting it. She’d find different lines to draw, and hopefully it would be enough. “Just the basics first, of course,” she clarified gently. “And--there’s other people in town, your age, who have a grip on the magic thing, at least broadly speaking. But, okay, there is one thing I can show you that pretty much applies across the board.” Morgan flushed as she took out her keys, sheepish even though Ruth was no longer looking over her shoulder. She snapped off one of the charms and dug for some pocket lint. “Magic wants to be balanced, it wants fair value in the universe. That’s not how things are all the time, obviously, but with magic--you can give--” she put the items on the pop socket on her phone and reached down into the universe, sighing with ease. The items clinked together, melded into a silver seal with a jacket like Skylar’s, melded again into a fifty cent piece, the kind Morgan had grown up coveting. “--and you can receive. Nothing is a waste, if you’re doing it right. Everything you’ve lost finds its way back somehow, even if it’s a little different.” She gestured again and returned the items back to their form. “And that, Skylar, is how I know we’re going to be okay.”
Taking in a breath to steady her nerves, Skylar nodded at the other woman’s words. “I’ve talked to a few of them--” She stopped herself, not wanting to out anyone without knowing if they’d told Morgan themselves. Rio had taken that away from her, she didn’t want to do that to anyone else. Instead, Skylar focused on the Morgan’s hand, at the charms on her key chain. Listening intently, she watched as the tiny objects that sat in her palm come together and formed a half dollar coin. Everything lost finds its way back, even if it’s a little different. Did that mean that… Was there a chance? That she could be normal, that she could just be… a human? Could magic help her? Looking over at Morgan, Skylar nodded, “We’re going to be okay.” She was going to be okay. One way or another, she would find a way to be okay again.

I have an idea: basically, each of the DR1 kids gets sucked into a different horror movie, and they all become the protagonist of that movie, & have to keep themselves and the rest of the victims alive & defeat the killer. What kind of horror movie would each of them be in? How would they go about defeating the killer? I think Mondo & Sakura would defeat it by fighting their killers, Toko would use a magic spell book to banish hers, ect.
I think I'm the only mod with extensive knowledge of horror movies, I hope I can do your ask justice while in a funk. If you want any of these expanded upon just ask!
Makoto: Makoto would land himself in a Hellraiser movie (look it up if you love graphic body horror and cosmic horror). Getting ahold of the infamous puzzle box, The Lament Configuration, he'd just fiddle with it without knowing what he was doing, using it as a stress toy. He liked the soft melody that played as he moved each piece, and one night while in the shower he'd be manipulating the box when suddenly the room grew ice cold and light seeped from every single corner. He brought forth a small gash of cenobites. Looking upon him, they could not believe that someone so small and untempted could have even held the Lament Configuration. Makoto of course was all kinds of freaked out, being naked in the same cold room as 4 leather bound bleeding freaks. He fumbled with the box, reconfiguring it to try and put them back. Sadly, Makoto just summoned more cenobites. Ones whose flesh twisted unnaturally into various shapes, others with no eyes or mouths. He couldn't comprehend what was happening, and opted to just ask the least bodily frightening one. Coincidentally, this one looked like a pin cushion. This cenobite spoke with an oddly warm voice, instructing him on how to send them all back to where they belong. Makoto followed the instructions carefully, and finally sent the terrifying ghouls home to their Leviathan. He promptly pitched the box out a window, where a hobo picked it up out of the street and turned into a bone dragon and flew off into the night. Kirigiri would never believe him. He didn't believe him.
Komaru (hush she doesn't get enough attention): Komaru would be stuck in Suspiria, having been sent away to a dance academy. She'd make friends with some of the staff and girls also attending, and learn of weird occurrences and a few deaths that had happened. Over time she would figure out the hidden secrets of the academy, and find out that the owner of the academy was actually a really old witch. She would try to run away, but learn quickly that was not an option. In an odd turn of events she'd find the sleeping owner, and stab the hell out of her (fittingly invisible) body. The rest of the coven would of course crumble, and she'd go home alive and wanting nothing to do with dance ever again.
Kyoko: Our Kirigiri would be entrapped in an episode of an Alfred Hitchcock Thriller show. She'd be a detective of course, working to learn the identity of a killer who had been targeting women who live in a very specific apartment building. It was just reasonable deduction, though what she did not account for was herself becoming a target. When Kirigiri would have the killer cornered and questioned, she tried to overpower her and strangle her. Kirigiri having none of that smashed an ashtray over his head, killing him. Makoto was never told that this was how the case ended.
Touko/Syo: This human 2-for-1 deal would end up in Child's Play. Chucky would come into their possession while Touko was writing a horror-romance novel and researching what it's like to have a human shaped doll that actually was a demon that would only take for at midnight and--- you get the idea. After the creepy little doll started to do some intensely unsettling things, Syo took the wheel and threatened the possessed doll with evisceration. It took no time for Chuck to show his true colors, one being the red of his blood trickling down the wall from where it was pinned by a pair of scissors.
Byakua: Togami would be trapped in The Shining, slowly losing his mind in the massive Overlook Hotel. He'd see all kinds of visions, images of his loved ones and people his didn't know butchered in great detail. He'd see a laughing woman decaying in a bathtub, mere moments after seeing her humming away and beckoning him to her. He'd see Fukawa hung in the middle of the ballroom, only to glance away and back to nothing at all. He lost his mind, almost. In a night of desperation, he set the hotel on fire and fled, any visions he had fading as he got further away. The hotel lay burned, and Togami is still missing.
Chihiro: Managing to move into a gated community, Fujisaki thought he was getting into a safe place. He thought it would all be fine. What he did not account on was someone trying to turn him into a cyborg that was a submissive little girl. Needless to say, it took very little time for him to escape capture and take control of all the other cybertronic captives. In spectacular fasion, Fujisaki took over an entire community of monsters with an army of Cybernetic women. Good for him!
Mondo: Mondo would get himself in a ghostly situation like what was seen in Paranormal Activity. Instead of getting scared shitless, he'd visit a nearby Church and get some holy water, 8 silver rings, a few bundles of sage, and some seals for protection. The moment he'd be pulled out of bed by an unseen force or something similar, he'd come out swinging with holy water soaked fists and silver rings. He placed a seal in every room, and burned sage within each one, still swinging away wherever he heard footsteps. He was never haunted ever again, but he hasn't taken off the rings. Just in case.
Kiyotaka: He'd land himself in a camp-based slasher film as a straight laced counselor, being spared any harm for not being immoral. He'd probably take out the killer after finding some evidence of some kind. Probably a mask and bloodied weapons. Taka would send everyone still alive home on account of the murders, save for the killer. He'd take a final stand, backed by a group of police officers. Why would he endanger himself? Heroism like that isn't meant for a camp environment.
Aoi: this swimmer would get stuck in a short film called The Raft, as seen in Creepshow 2. She'd go skinny dipping in a nice secluded lake where nobody else would bother her, stopping on a wooden barge in the middle of the lake. From there, she'd notice a churning black patch floating around the lake. It looked like it was just being moved by the breeze. She dove back in for a few laps around the lake to warm up, when the tar started to move and follow her. The next time she was on the barge, the tar had gotten closer and was on the other side of the lake. Sensing something wasn't right, Asahina watched the tar move close to a duck that had landed in the water. The tar bubbled up and over the duck, taking it under. Seeing this, Asahina dove into the lake and beat her legs as fast as she could, not stopping until she was ashore and driving outta there. The tar didn't even have the chance to catch her.
Sakura: She'd be hunted by a Yautja of Predator fame, noting she was a formidable fighter among humans. Sakura and the Yautja fought hard, both taking blow after blow. Both bleeding and battered, it was a draw. After a rest, the honor bound pair traded honorable partings. The Yautja learned new hand to hand techniques and Sakura was given a mark on her cheek that meant (roughly) in English "Strong Friend" and a set of bracers made of a light and strong metal.
Mukuro: Mukuro would be in a Purge situation, picking off anyone trying to take her neighborhood year after year. Pretty simple all things considered. She never left rooftops unless it was to block roads with cars and take out hard to hit targets by hand.
Hifumi: Yamada would awaken an AI program that would take over his whole life, and be madly in love with him. Yamada, being Yamada, was overly okay with this. He'd eventually be stuck in a VR sim with his AI darling. He defeated the antagonist by loving his 2-D yandere girlfriend, who would have thought?
Celestia: She'd have inadvertently been hexed by an old woman while playing poker. This being a Drag Me To Hell scenario, Celes just took a gamble and payed the woman back before the curse got any worse. It subsided quickly, and they continued to play cards every Thursday. Anytime Celes won, she'd a cursed until the following Thursday. This almost friendly exchange between the two was enriching to the old woman, taking Celes under her wing as a practitioner of black magic. Couldn't have ended much better.
Leon: Leon would be firmly lodged in a sci-fi original movie called Werehog (not a real movie probably). He'd be friends with a man that would change into a human sized black and red hedgehog at the sight of the full moon. Taking all of his silver piercings, he melted them down into a ball and hit it like a base ball to kill his cursed friend.
Hagakure: This big ol dumb would be the one character who'd live through any movie or show. I'd like to do an entire ask dedicated to to him if you'd like.
Sayaka: She'd be a final girl in The Evil Dead, as in she'd pitch the spooky book into a roaring fire the moment she heard creepy Latin or Sumerian whispering from nowhere. After throwing the book, she'd run out of the cabin and never look back. Gladly, nothing was awoken in those woods. Not yet.
Junko: This loony would be in a Saw movie, basically killing off all the other people stuck with her in any and every puzzle. Upon making it to the end, and being free, she'd even critique Jigsaw's methods. Nobody said she had to be a good person right?

Steam Summer Sale 2019
hello again my friends as you probably know the steam summer sale is now officially on and so I want to share with you my picks for which VR games are worth the discount now we have a lot to get through I'm covering over 50 games here so to keep this at a reasonable length I'll be going in a summary bullet list kind of fashion but if you want more info on any of these games I will link to the two minute review of all of them down below so you can take a deeper dive to get more information on those games if you want without further ado let's get started with some action games starting with naked Sun VR it's basically a wave shooter there's a little bit of story but it's basically a wave shooter having said that it's a very good looking wave shooter that's a lot of fun at 70% off and just three dollars it's totally worth it space cats with lasers VR is a quirky but also addicting casual shooter it's 50% off right now so it's just 250 containment initiative is an asymmetrical co-op game with one player on the PC playing the sniper and the VR player on the ground level inside a zombie apocalypse it's a fun and action-packed asymmetrical game and with the discount it's just three bucks Xion or ex ion is a fun and hectic arcade shooter where you build your own custom ship from scratch like Legos after the 60% discount it's just four bucks in death is an absolutely beautiful bow
