Not even twelve hours later, and my brain is working on a 1990!Benverly AU inspired by the Count of Monte Cristo (specifically the musical and the 2002 film).

What Did William Did In that Room to spend time during all the 30 years he's been locked?

Slept. Realized—eventually—that Henry had been using him and, in all likelihood, murdered several kids. Learned how to say the alphabet backwards really fast. Reflected on every bad parenting choice he’d ever made, especially in regard to taking out his frustration and grief unknowingly on Michael. Tried to remember the name of every Beatles’ song. Cried a lot, probably.

He was fully convinced that he was in hell or, at the very least, purgatory.

Hi everyone ! Long time no see. 2025 is a rough year for me and i didn't had the time to draw at all. So i just give you some old work, never finished, abandonned. In the order :

When Ming Fan finally fought his way through the underbrush to where the Rift had appeared, it was already too late. Shizun and Luo Binghe stood at the edge of the yawning chasm, swords unsheathed and pointed at each other. He hadn’t thought much of it when Shen Qingqiu had flown past him so soon after the earthquake that had torn open the Rift, but he could now see there was something very wrong. Shen Qingqiu’s back was turned to Ming Fan and his face hidden, but he could see plainly the fear and confusion on Luo Binghe’s face. Along with the glowing, damning mark on his forehead. Something demonic.

Ming Fan gripped the foliage, forcing himself not to run out. Not yet. He’d end up dead or wishing he was. He had mocked Luo Binghe early in the Conference, yes, but he knew the younger boy had done nothing to merit this kind of punishment—!

In a matter of seconds, Xiu Ya had stabbed forward, Zheng Yang had shattered, and Luo Binghe had staggered back into the Rift.

Everything seemed to still.

Ming Fan sucked in an breath and darted out of the foliage—but it was too late. Luo Binghe’s arm vanished over the edge just as Ming Fan ran past their shizun. He lunged forward the last few feet, fingers clawing at Luo Binghe’s forearm just in time. Caught, held. The sudden weight had him crashing again against the ground and the wind was knocked out of him. The taste of charred earth mixed with that of fresh blood where he’d nearly bitten his tongue in half.

But that was inconsequential. Not when he could feel the weight at the end of his arm that told him he didn’t fail. Even when the only person he needed to acknowledge that fact was someone he couldn’t stand. No one deserves to die like this, Ming Fan thought viciously. Not even him.

Dangling below him, Luo Binghe’s eyes were wide with terror and confusion, at odds with the damning, demonic seal glowing on his forehead. But there was something like gratitude there as well, out of place and so painfully frail.

For a fragile second, it felt like they were breathing the same

“Shixiong—”

With a cry, he was wrenched from Ming Fan’s grip and into the Abyss below. Ming Fan’s cry was strangled in his throat.

He didn’t know how long he remained there, clenching the burned grass with white-knuckled fingers and straining his eyes to see through the acrid smoke that rose from the chasm for even the barest glimpse of Luo Binghe. But time moved on and the Rift sealed shut and when Ming Fan blinked and once more became aware of his surroundings, he realized he was not alone.

Shen Qingqiu loomed over him like a stone Buddha, face cold as jade. His spiritual sword was once more sheathed, his robes neat and not one hair out of place. As though he hadn’t had a hand in what had happened here.

“You… you killed him,” Ming Fan breathed, still unable to fully process what had just taken place. But that’s what it was, a death sentence fed to the hungry maw of the Endless Abyss.

Shen Qingqiu. “He was a stain upon our sect.”

Ming Fan could feel the rage slowly rise. “He was a disciple of Qing Jing Peak. He was your disciple.” Acknowledging it was like vinegar on his tongue but a boy was dead because of him. He stared at Shen Qingqiu as if seeing him for the first time. Stripped of his elegance and his masks…

“He was a demon.” Shen Qingqiu sneered down at him. “There is no need to explain to you why he needed to be eradicated.”

Ming Fan tore burning eyes away from that frigid, impassive mask. He couldn’t bear looking at the man he had so long idolized. Instead he stared at the ground, in fear he would do or say something he could not undo. And beside his knee he saw slivers of metal.

The shards of Zheng Yang, tangled in the burned grass. Ming Fan’s vision blurred and his breath grew sharp and ragged, anger slamming into him full force. He wrapped his fingers around the pieces, the razor pain of their edges grounding him as the rest of his world unraveled like poorly woven cloth. His shizun had failed him.

And he had failed his shidi.

Dark Cacao! as Fernand Mondego - oh no, the first enemy, jealous of soon to be newly weds, sheming to seal the Sage away

And of Course Shadow Milk as the Count of Monte Cristo - climbed from under his prison where he spent 14 years locked away, ready to revenge everyone who got him in this situation

Throné doesn't actually die. The character she is, Valentine, fakes her death with the help of Edmond (Osvald) so that her stepmother (probably Mother) will go to prison for 4 counts of murder. In the final chapter, it's revealed to Maximilian (Valentine's bf) (Partitio) what happened and they get to live happily together :3

well, i'm currently entertaining a thought that just too hard for me to write i guess??? or maybe i'll try anyway??? but... what do you think, is it possible to imagine some circumstances where james and sirius become lovers (or friends if you so insist) to enemies?.. (and back to lovers pls 🫠) without changing their personalities? (slytherin sirius au that i adore unfortunately doesn't count)

personally, i like to imagine some kind of the count of monte cristo au, where sirius is the one who ran away from prison and james is the one who thought his best mate was dead..... moreover, sirius thinks that james put him in azkaban!!! and has very confused feelings about it... and suffers a lot (just how i like it) but still wants to take a revenge!!! because sirius is like: how dare you continue to live while i'm gone? how dare you to marry lily and be happy and have a son? why didn't you save me? why didn't you search for me and prefered to believe some simple bullshit? why did you let me suffer?... and there is a duel, there are complicated devilish plans and all that just to learn that the real betrayer was peter... the very same peter who told him that james was to blame and sirius was wrong to believe him....

Anyone wanna hear about my niche Shadowpeach Count of Monte Cristo AU? No?

Okay so Wukong is Mercedes right, Macaque is Edmond.

This got longer than intended so more below the cut:

Azure is Mondego and he’s got a thing for Wukong, but clearly Wukong is in love with Macaque. So Azure conspires with Peng (Danglars) and Yellow Tusk (Villefort) (who knows this is basically the only way to convince SWK to fist fight Heaven as seriously as they need him to) to get Macaque in trouble with Heaven. DBK kinda plays the role of Monsieur Morrel as the friend who got sidelined once the Camel Ridge Trio gained power.

Anyway Mac gets in trouble with Heaven and ends up imprisoned, SWK cannot find him and nobody in Heaven will tell him anything. Eventually SWK decides Mac is dead and he’s gonna work with Azure to overthrow Heaven as vengeance. After a long war, they eventually reach peace with Heaven and are given Camel Ridge as a place they can rule as they see fit.

LBD and the Mayor sorta play the Abbe Faria role and teach Mac a ton of magic and stuff but instead of them dying Mac just bails and escapes alone first chance he gets because he knew they were bad news.

He then proceeds to show up, glamored to an unrecognizable level (because SWK wasn’t the one to get in trouble with Heaven the furnace didn’t happen, and thus no gold vision), and acts as a very powerful spirit who’s very interested in the success of Camel Ridge and has absolutely no ulterior motives such as revenge. Absolutely not. He calls himself the Count of Shadow because he’s dramatic.

Anyway more characters.

MK is Albert/Maximillian who was adopted by SWK as a Mentee and ends up also studying under Mac

Mei is more of less Valentine except basically not at all as she’s neither in a romantic relationship with MK nor related to Yellow Tusk. She just plays a huge role in proving that “loyalty is real and not everyone is out for themselves”

Tang, Pigsy, and Sandy all play pretty big support roles in that they’re there to support MK and Mei and keep an eye on their creepy new friend, oh wait! New friend doesn’t like the rulers of camel ridge (who are mush less benevolent than they claimed they would be because they have 0 experience) okay maybe he’s not awful.

Very importantly Red Son plays the role of Benadetto/Cavalcanti, with some encouragement from his parents because they don’t like the trio anymore than anyone else. He gets to pretend to not be related to his family and act as a sorta spy by being a very powerful fire demon who wants to train under Yellow Tusk. He ends up being pivotal in finding the proof that Mac was framed and clearing his name with Heaven.

SWK meanwhile is struggling with ruling alongside Azure, Peng, and Yellow Tusk because he’s the only one with any actual experience ruling anything, while trying to train MK, while trying to keep Heaven from getting annoyed enough to wipe them off the face of the earth and dear god the last thing he needed was a handsome monkey demon passive aggressively flirting with him in ways that are far too painfully familiar!
