Hi! Got another question...
If your loz oc's (links, zeldas and anyone else you like) met, what would they think of eachother? Who would they be friends with, would they dislike someone?
While writing this, I thought of veskaris and stray meeting eachother, which seems kinda hilarious. Au where they switch villains when?/j
Take your time answering! And sorry for spamming you with asks 😅
No no feel free to spam my asks as much as you'd like! I love getting opportunities to yap about my OCs!! <333
Starting with an art inspired by what you said about Stray and Veskaris
Tumblr media
Onward with the rest
Let's start with Stray and Crown.
Stray is of course wary of everyone immediately. That is his default! Boots, of course, smelling a Younger Person goes right into big brother mode, which Stray hates. Don't big brother him, don't parent him, don't anything him, tyvm. Which makes Boots so sad :( how does he befriend and take care of this kid... (The answer: don't be a mother cucco or a goody two shoes and then hope for the best. Unfortunately Boots is usually kinda both of those things.) At the very least, there are a few uhh plot secret things the two may be able to bond over. Hashtag trauma things.
Crown would mostly just think Boots is good-looking and nice HAHA. She might tease Stray a little over it, but only a smidge, because she knows it's a sensitive topic. Oh, I think she'd like to meet his sheep though. Sheep are pretty cute. And Stray would follow them around the whole time, if the two were separate and not with her in his head. He shadows her as much as he can for a long while; he doesn't like being away from her for long, especially if she's around other people. Kinda over protective, though he's certainly got good reasons for it. And she usually doesn't mind it.
Stray would have absolutely no interest in Boots' Zelda. The only Zelda he has any interest in is his own, and even that only forms depending on how far into his adventure he is lol. Crown on the other hand would find it kinda neat to be able to speak to another princess, and one of the past, no less. She's never been all that into history (though she doesn't dislike it either) but now that she's had her own experience with a hero and adventure and all that, I think she'd be a lot more willing to listen to Boots' Zelda's info dumps on past heroes.
Stray might find Gerudo Link interesting just because he's so different from what he's familiar with. He's never seen a male Gerudo before! He barely actually saw any female Gerudo, if he saw any Gerudo at all (his story is a big WIP after all). Mostly, I think if he had the chance to see Gerudo fight, he'd want to learn from him. He's a well-trained warrior, after all, while Stray was just Doing His Best the whole time. No one taught him! And he got very good, having to fight as much as he did, but that doesn't mean he can't get better. He'd feel better if he got more training, and post adventure, he can't get much out of the current royal guard because honestly, they've not been working very hard at being prepared for battle. He can wipe out any of those soldiers while sparring because they've all been slacking! So he'd probably want Gerudo to teach him stuff.
Crown would absolutely 5000% tease him about the height difference between the two, and Stray would throw it right back. They're both absolute shorties, and Gerudo Link, despite being short himself for his race, is like, way tall compared to them. I think Crown would enjoy watching the two spar and watching Stray learn. She'd sit there with Love and the two could chat on and off about their adventures and their Links while watching their boys. Stray, of course, would have no interest in Love and would turn down and ignore any attempts to reach out to him she would make, which Gerudo would definitely chide him for. He'd... Begrudgingly be polite, at least, after that.
I think Stray would do alright with Poncho. He's from a poor background like Stray is, and he's like. He's chill. Doesn't talk much, doesn't bug Stray, doesn't much of anything at all. Stray might find him boring sometimes, but also a good one to just go chill next to when he's stressed. They can sit in silence or Stray can say some things and feel not judged about it. I think Crown would feel a bit awkward with him though. She cannot get a read on him for the life of her and she's not a fan of that.
I don't know Poncho's Zelda very well yet, unfortunately, so as I'm sure you've noticed, I've not been including her in any of these 😔 Maybe one day... Maybe one day....
Boots and his Zelda
Boots wants to take Stray under his wing so bad it's almost pathetic. He loves kids. Stray gives off kid vibes so hard and it's killing him that he's so snappy at any attempt Boots makes to bond! He'd be trying everything. Come look at these animals! Come meet Epona! (Oh, horses kinda scare him? He's never been around a horse this close before? Oh now that he's had the chance, he's coming to like them? Oh. He likes Epona way more than me. Well... That's fair, I guess, can't even blame him for that 😔) now I can picture Stray visiting him JUST to hang out with Epona 💀 the sheep might be kinda interesting to him too... He's not a big fan of dogs and cats though because there are a lot of strays wandering his home area and it sucks to see them starve too. Anyway, if somehow Boots or Stray broached The Spoilers Topic, maybe that would soften Stray towards him, and Boots would be like. Devastated this kid went through something remotely similar to what he experienced. He's only two years younger but... But still. It's sad enough he had to save the kingdom at all when he's just a kid.
Boots would introduce him to his siblings too. I think Kara would find a moment alone with Stray and be like "my big brother can be so suffocating sometimes can't he. Here's a sandwich for having to deal with him" and Stray would be like hm 🤨 alright I guess she's not so bad. And Boots would be devastated to see that Stray seems to like his sister more than himself. What is her secret!! Boots is usually so good with kids what happened here!! I think Stray would be alright with the twins though, he might enjoy seeing what mischief they get into, and I think he would form a secret soft spot for Ava. Or maybe not so secret at all.
Crown would get along well with Kara I think. Again, it's the comfortableness of joking about their Links. Swapping funny stories and whatnot. She'd find Ava adorable, and I bet Ollie and Ellie could win her over too.
Boots' Zelda is of course a history buff, but to meet someone from the future is super exciting too! One day THAT will be history! She's meeting history that hasn't even happened yet! So she'd be interested in both Stray and Crown and everything that happened to them. Stray of course would want nothing to do with her, which Zelda would think is kinda cute/funny because in many ways, he would remind her of when Boots was younger. She'd get along well with Crown though, especially because both like to tease their Links.
Unfortunately, she won't be able to get much information from Poncho, and once she realizes he doesn't like to talk, she wouldn't push it and would just be polite with him. I assume she'd turn to his Zelda for info instead, but idk how much she'd be able to tell aside from some basics about what led up to the event and some after stuff, because from what I know at the moment (subject to change), she spends a lot of time locked away. So she wasn't present for a lot of it :P
Boots would be just fine with Poncho. Like. I could picture Poncho helping him out with some stuff and they go back and forth between quietly working together and Boots chattering while Poncho listens. If he didn't know that Poncho wasn't talkative around anyone, he'd worry he was doing something wrong, but if he knew okay, he just doesn't really talk, he'd be fine. He'd certainly question why on earth kids who have not even come of adult age yet are being forced to save the kingdom though. Where are the adults. What's going on.
Boots would definitely be curious about Gerudo Link. He actually has met many Gerudo women and wound up earning permission to enter their town if he so pleases but like. Tbh they're kinda intimidating LOL I'm not sure he ever goes back ever haha. So he'd probably be kinda interested in asking what life is like for Gerudo Link. And also! How do they handle the desert! How do they survive there! It sucked to travel through it! I think they could get along pretty well. Go traversing through the woods near Boots' place. Gerudo is admittedly interested in the world outside of the desert. So many plants and animals! I can imagine them wandering and chatting and just like. Chilling. Swapping culture info.
As far as Love goes, Boots would be like woah. She's so sweet and friendly and nice??? Hey Zelda why aren't you more like her- (gets smacked) but then actually he wouldn't know how to handle her niceties because there's a certain kind of sweetness he's used to girls using on him only when they're interested in him and like. Even knowing Gerudo and Love are A Thing it would still put him on edge just because. He doesn't. He doesn't know how to handle it fjgkkgk makes him feel awkward, even knowing she doesn't intend it like that!
Boots' Zelda would be curious about what life is like for Love. Like, after her adventure is over, she's the only royal left, so now she has to rule the kingdom. And yes, she fell in love with Gerudo Link and blah blah but how does she REALLY know he's the one? How does she know he'll be a good fit or ruling Midrule? How do they plan on balancing that when he's also supposed to be the king of the Gerudo? What would Love do if she fell in love with him but knew he'd actually be a Terrible Ruler? And of course she'd be so fascinated that there are other worlds out there, as that puts more stock in the debatably true story of the Hero of Legend (or possibly another hero, the records aren't clear) going to some sort of mirror world. Maybe it was Midrule! Or maybe it was somewhere else entirely, since Love doesn't know of any stories similar to what she's telling her. But it's certainly fascinating.
Gerudo Link and Love
Gerudo would think Boots is kinda cute. Not in a weird way but in a. Like. Wow look at this kid. He's so... Funny and reactive and interesting and it's fun to be around him for sure. He's happy to answer any questions Gerudo Link might have, and asks plenty of his own. He's interested by what it's like to be a big sibling (and absolutely enamored by Ava. She's? Actually the cutest thing alive he's pretty sure? Kara is kinda fascinating too. So that's what teen girls are like? Was his sister anything like her at that age? If only he could have been around her back then to find out. And the twins are fun, they remind him of stories he's heard about the twins back home, maybe that's just how kids around that age are.)
And Boots' Zelda is kind of fun. When he watches her interact with Boots, the ribbing reminds him a lot of Evala, his sister, actually. But this girl is one for books, not battle. It's also interesting to see the major differences between this Zelda and his own Zelda. They're like night and day in many ways.
Love thinks Boots is a very sweet boy! She kind of wishes she had a little brother like him. And she's a bit overwhelmed by his Zelda. Like. She's got a lot of questions. Some of them are very hard questions. She worries... That this girl is too stuck in her head and hopes she doesn't end up sacrificing her happiness for it.
Gerudo be very interested by Stray. Like... He's a little punk for sure, but he likes the gumption he's got. He's impressed that this little squirt wants to learn from him and is really stubborn about it. He can get knocked down plenty during their lessons but he just gets back up and demands to keep going. Gerudo actually has to call stops sometimes because the kid will overdo it otherwise, which uhhh is kind of worrying tbh. But he's impressed by him for sure. Love kinda wishes he'd open up and soften up - it's hard to see him so... Prickly. Because clearly he's been through a lot and he's just so young and it saddens her. She wishes she could do something to help.
Everything that's happened to Crown also saddens her. She can relate to family members going astray, and it's just... She kinda wants to adopt this girl as her sister LOL. And Crown I think could actually come to kind of see her as a loving big sis if they got to spend enough time together.
Poncho BREAKS HER HEART! Yes, he's quiet and hard to get to know, but there's something kind of small and resigned about him that reminds him of how she used to be, and how she sometimes still struggles not to be. The idea of people turning on such a sweet kid is just awful. He's diligent and helpful and expects absolutely nothing and she just wants to give him the world and make everything okay for him.
Gerudo Link also feels bad for him. But also is so so impressed by him. Like all along his journey, he had people to protect and care about and do this for. He was initially just doing it for his own people, who he loved and who loved him. Poncho... Poncho was fighting to save a kingdom that hated him. That takes a special kind of strength. It's amazing to him and he wishes the kid would see that in himself.
Bonus:
The bad guys!
Everyone, and I mean everyone would be incredibly disturbed by Furorin (Stray's bad guy). This guy was? Stealing people from their bodies? And? Using their bodies like vessels, puppeting them around? That's horrifying????? Furorin of course would just be like. Still high and mighty in his reasons, they don't get it, this is for the good of the kingdom, blah blah blah. Boots would be ready to murder him. Gerudo Link would be ready to murder him, but perhaps in a less violent and painful way than the temperamental extraordinarily protective Boots. Poncho... Would not show any of this like the others, but it would make him kind of nauseated to think about. He's dealt with Not So Nice People, and so knowing the primary goal started because of Not So Nice Nobles like.. he gets it's hard, but that's never an excuse for this kind of behavior. He hates to think there are people out there who justify terrible actions for "doing good" because honestly, that's what so many people in HIS kingdom has done and it's just overall disappointing. Someone stop this loser :l
Boots' Zelda is honestly just so sad that the kingdom fell into the state it did that even brought this sort of desperate response on. She'd feel bad for Crown, not knowing until it was too late, and do her best to give her pointers. In the meantime? Go get em Boots. Go crush that despicable freak. Actually, save a piece for her. It would feel good to stomp on his hand with a high heel or something at least.
Love wouldn't want to go even near the guy, but it would deeply upset her. Why would the king do what he did, why would this scientist then take things so far, why can't people just... Be good? Is it so so impossible to just be good and do right by others? It's kinda depressing :/
As for Veskaris, there's so much like. Are you seeing this guy??
Stray thinks he's so stupid. Like he was back home dealing with a very smart and very clever enemy but this guy is just? So dumb? So full of himself and stupid? Boots how did you not kill this guy day one ("Don't say that, says Crown, stupid does not mean he's not powerful! At least Furorin only had his technology. This guy can just do horrible things with the snap of a finger!" But admittedly like. It's hard for her to take this guy seriously. Their villain felt like a precise knife with a hint of like. Mania. This guy... This guy is a circus that shoots cannons at the audience. It's kinda crazy.)
Gerudo would also be like. ?????????? No wonder Boots is a nervous wreck sometimes. This guy would drive anyone mad. Ganondorf was a very straightforward bad guy. I'm going to kill people and take the Triforce, badabing badaboom, simple. This... This fruitcake... What. What. What's actually wrong with him. He's really?? Annoying???? Love would be like ... I don't... I try not to judge people quickly but... he... He's super annoying and a total freak.
Even Poncho can't help but give Veskaris a sort of judging look, and then Boots a kind of pitying look.
At this point, Boots is almost embarrassed. Like dang... Making me feel kinda self conscious that my villain is such a freak. And Veskaris is like EXCUSE ME? YOU FEEL EMBARRASSED OVER MY GLORIOUS EXISTENCE??? ARE YOU FOR REAL???
And honestly he's disgusted that there are so many Links!!! Why are there so many heroes!!! They're like! Bugs! Ants! Flies! Too many, shoo shoo! No wonder Ganon warned him about a boy named Link. One was enough trouble, he does not get paid enough to deal with four! He does not get paid at all!!
And then King Ganondorf.
That guy.... That guy gives almost everyone the chills. It's. Weird to see him look human. (Gerudo is confused to find out he was like? A pig guy? For the others? Huh? Well. It's suitable, he supposes. And how strange for Love to think of her brother as just a 100% purely evil pig guy when he at least started out nice in her world...)
But there's. He's just. That's a man who will do anything to get what he wants. There are absolutely no boundaries for him, no morals. Not anymore. It's... Scary, to be sure, because it's different when he looks human.
Even Furorin wasn't exactly jumping to go killing people. He was more about trapping them. Once he got desperate enough, he'd hurt people, yes, but he also firmly believed Ganon would fix any harm he did to reach their goal because that's what he was promised. Well, he didn't exactly have qualms hurting nobles, though killing any felt like a step too far. But he still had some moral guidelines.
Poncho, however, is not put off at all by this man. The followers of Ganon were just as merciless. If anything, they had an edge of extra cruelty sometimes. Like a bitterness towards the hero due to the hero previous Poncho. Even many people in the kingdom were eager to try and kill Poncho. Like. That's nothing new to him. Which uhhh is very worrying to everyone else. They're all pretty horrified to find out the kingdom was against him like that.
At least this King Ganondorf mostly considered killing people a means to an end. The followers of Ganon were still pissed about the trouble that Hero of Hyrule put them through. :P no easy deaths there. Granted, that was also, in a way, what kept him alive, but still.
And Ganondorf, well, I don't think he'd think much of these guys at all. They're nothing more than pests that get in the way. That's it.
Thanks for the ask! This was fun to think about.

More from me (I cannot shut up today sorry!), hi!
Questions (there are so MANY, I hope this is ok they just wouldn’t stop once I started typing!!!)
1. Did Cia from ModernAU ever get charged for the effed up stuff she did to War? Cos I bet that media circus went down like a lead balloon for the poor guy.
2. I reread ‘Love Me, Normally’ this morning and I now have brown-haired Wars living rent free in my head with Chipmunk Twi. Does War ever reunite with his mum and do we get to see it? (Pleaaaase?) Also, if Wars has brown hair does Linkle too? Or is it their hazel eyes and face shape they share identically?
3. In ‘regular’ Wars stuff, I know he’s the middle kid of six or seven (all the rest of whom are girls): I know Linkle is the (older) twin, but what are their other sisters’ names and what are their ages relative to them? I believe I remember Charlotte as being one of them but can you confirm?
4. I know in ModernAU, Wild’s first name is related to Mati, and his middle name is Lincoln. Related to a previous ask of mine regarding surnames; do you have middle names for any of the others? (Apparently I need to know all information about these people lmao).
5. Rosie and Delilah are Wars’ darlings in regular stuff; did he have any animals growing up or are these two girls his first pets!? I can just imagine a frantic Warriors trying to research the heck out of hairless cats when he first gets them (I know they need a lot of maintenance due to oils and such), trying to ensure his babies have THE BEST. Related question: in ModernAU I know he has a black kitty void (Milo), but I cannot recall the breed or name of the other kitty!? Please advise?!
6. I know that Wild in ModernAU ends up badly injured and moderately disabled after his fall. I also know that you’re planning to write fic covering his and Wars’ history eventually, but would you be willing to divulge what the injury was? Was it a tear/dislocation/ball-and-socket tear or something? I assume there was at least tendon and ligament damage, but I’m a sucker for medical trauma and my brain Will Not Stop Asking and I don’t know the answer!
*lets out a deep breath* Ok! I think that’s everything right now (I’ll definitely send more asks if more thoughts occur) but I hope this satisfies your need to yap as much as it does my Jes-writing-brain rot haha.
Never stop writing if you enjoy it, cos you’re awesome!
DON'T APOLOGIZE I ASKED FOR QUESTIONS :3 literally ask as many as you'd like /srs i am in the mood to yap today
Yes she did, and she went to prison for it. The media situation around that was... not fun for War
Yes he does and I that's another fic I have in my drafts- (Tho thats more of a not cannot to You're A Part Of Me/side story type thing). Linkle's hair is also brown, and curly, and she dyes it blond too but she is less obsessed about it and doesn't care if her roots are like several inches long. And she also has hazel eyes, they're identical
YES, he is the dead middle of 7, he has six sisters. At 'present' with War being 27 almost 28: Charlotte (Lottie) [32], Estella [29], Linkle [27], War, Lorena [24], Luisa (Isa or Lu) [23], and Liliana (Ani) [21]. I was struggling to name them a few months ago and someone said something to me about all their names starting with "L" or at least the "El" sound (or have it in there SOMEwhere) and I thought that was hilarious. (Also yes, I intentionally made some of his sisters the same age as Time, Twi, and Sky, and the gap between him and his youngest sister is about the same as the gap between him and Mask was)
The only other one with a middle name is Four, who's middle name is "Link", and his first name is unknown because of comedy reasons
He did have animals growing up!! Mostly big dogs, but his family also owned cuccos, which he was afraid of because Linkle would chase him with them. He'd been AROUND cats pre Rosie and Delilah, but they're the first cats HE has owned. Also he absolutely did research, and when he couldn't find answers he refused to take that as an answer and searched harder. And Modern AU War's babies are Milo and Tara :) They're siblinngs, they just came out with different fur colors. And later down the line he gets Maple
He dislocated his hip and broke his pelvis, and his hip gives him shit now and causes him a lot of pain if he over uses it. and if he were to attempt to jump on that one leg he runs the risk of popping it out again because the joint isn't the biggest fan of staying in the socket

Competitive. The quickest way to get him to do something is to imply that he's incapable of doing it.
He'll offer to share his food with you. Do not take it. It's all protein and fitness stuff and it's absolutely rancid.
Taking engineering classes on the side. He likes to build.
Keeps birds.
Shad
35.
Eccentric scholar, works as the local librarian.
Delightfully befuddled most of the time.
Close friends with Sonata, and concerned for her wellbeing.
Physically fragile. The wind could blow the wrong way and he'd fall over.

Might feel something more than just friendship for Sonata...

my best wishes to the birthday boy. that one dlc mission says sooga usually takes over kohga's training sessions should he get stuck at the procrastination station. but what is kohga like as a teacher without these fallbacks, does he have difficulty teaching skills that come more naturally to him?
my 2nd question: he's honestly kinda chill even when committing felonies. is there something, barring the obvious like the royal family and having his plans foiled, that would *genuinely* piss him off? an action and/or a sensitive topic.
Helloooo, thank you! =D These are really good ones!
Kohga does do training, as part of his Master role, and it's mostly magic stuff. He leaves most of the weapons things to Sooga (and other high-ranking Yiga) 'cause like I said in this post, the arcane is more of his forté.
Kohga as a teacher does better when he's dealing with kids than with adults, in no small part because he's just fond of kids and finds them entertaining and so having a 'class' with a group of them feels a lot less like Work. He's got more patience for little ones not getting things immediately (again because watching them mess up in harmless ways is funny) and doesn't expect them to 'just know' basic concepts. Kohga himself learned a lot of advanced/exclusive techniques very early in life and he remembers how his Nana instructed him. Of course, Nana Kohga was much more no-nonsense. But like, the way she explained things like how to visualize your energy. How to breathe. The hand gestures. What doing a technique should feel like. In simple, child-friendly ways.
With kids, Kohga turns his lil' training classes into games that work out so that even if someone isn't getting the hang of something they could still have fun. One of his favorites is breaking in on the 6-9-year-olds' teleportation trainings, after they've been taught the basics of how to do the technique and most of them have figured out how to do it in a controlled setting (ie just standing still and 'porting from one spot to another). He'll have a room set up covered in soft things and pillows, and then. It's games time! He'll toss kids. 'Try to teleport away before you hit the pillows!' Tell them to play cucco. 'Run at the wall! Whoever teleports away the closest to it without touching, wins!' And so on. Kids love this sort of silliness. If they fall there's no harm done. If they manage to teleport they'll have learned to do it while moving!
With adults, the Master is a bit more prone to frustration if people aren't getting it, because--like you said--things came pretty naturally to him. So he'll start off a session on how to wield a Demon Carver (the one weapon he will still train people in) feeling pretty good, optimistic, explaining a grip or going over how to get your slashes angled correctly to disembowel or whatever, and all is good. But if someone isn't doing it right after a bunch of tries he can get huffy and foot-tappy and critical. He told you. Sheesh! You're gonna make him look bad, with that sloppy technique! Ultimately he'll end up slapping the person on the back and telling them to just keep trying, but still. It's harder for him to think of other ways to explain things, than the ways he learned with. He'll leave that to Sooga and Chisao and some other lead underlings to worry about.
And for the second question... Well! My headcanon universe is post-Age of Calamity, right? Where the Yiga have assisted in the defeat of Calamity Ganon? As time goes on, the Clan does have more of a Known presence in Hyrule, and one of the ways they're more visible is that there are now Yiga working as tech researchers along with the Sheikah at the Royal Lab. My Kohga himself is a big participant in that. He's tech-minded, the Yiga have tons of ancient (and copied-from-ancient) records in Karusa Valley, and Clan members are as a group vastly more in tune with the magic that makes ancient Sheikah tech run than contemporary Sheikah themselves are. The folks at the Lab have been trying to get more investment funding from sources other than the Royal Treasury, lately, by presenting their research and intended projects--stuff like magitech lighting, vehicles, etc. that will benefit everyday Hyrule.
And a thing that Pisses. Kohga. Off. Is when snotty Hylian nobles get RACIST when they hear that there's YIGA behind and working on these innovations. And refuse to back them or pull their funding. Are these bozos KIDDING? The Clan put their NECKS on the line to SAVE this stupid kingdom, and some guy with a big farm who hid in his basement the whole time is gonna act like he's BETTER than MASTER KOHGA??? Too GOOD for YIGA TECH? Screw that guy! He's banned from ever buying anything any Yiga ever worked on! If he ends up with his throat slit don't look at Sooga! Oh man Kohga was about to climb over the table at that meeting.
Yeah in general a thing that Kohga is acutely sensitive about is ignorant Hylians (and others, but it's mostly Hylians who do this) acting either like the Clan is 'still bad' and can't be trusted and are all marauding evildoers or like they're 'good now.' He hates comments like that. 'Oh they're good now.' Or worse, 'They're good citizens of Hyrule now.' Uuuuugggggghhh he gets so pissy and offended at this complete lack of nuance and understanding. Understandably, I think!
Thank you for asking these!!

After my third re-read of your comics I finally get all of the Ace Attorney references during the "Lake-Town arc"...
And now I can't help myself but imagine Link being put on a trial for being a dangerous undead drowned kid and scaring everyone in town (and all the other illegal stuff he probably did).
And Phoenix having to somehow prove that this little chaos gremlin who make his case worse everytime he open his mouth is not guilty.
... It would seem the time has come.
There was in fact a plan for a side story called "Kakariko Murder Mystery."
The victim:
Tumblr media
Gan and Link would return to Kakariko, with Link wanting to pay Dampe a visit (definitely had nothing to do with trying to rob a grave or anything...). Only to find he had been murdered!
The townspeople's first suspect? The weird Cucco Boy, of course.
Tumblr media
Court convenes. Since Ganondorf's hair is already like 85% identical to Phoenix's, he's the attorney (and he already has legal experience... in a different legal system, but it's the thought that counts...). The prosecutor is a cameo of Edgeworth.
Link does horribly in cross-examination -- we'd be in the part of the story where he's not sleeping much/is generally not feeling his best. So he'd crack pretty easily and his testimony would be full of contradictions.
Tumblr media
To make matters worse, a surprise witness would be brought onto the stand...
Tumblr media
Absolutely taken aback and disturbed by meeting Tingle for the first time, Gan would completely pivot and try to pin the murder on him.
Tumblr media
Obviously, that doesn't go well.
Some ghost channeling/Dampe's ghost being called as an (unreliable) witness probably would've been involved.
Tumblr media
I ultimately gave up on this side story because I couldn't figure out a satisfactory answer for Who Dun It. And with the work it'd need to be solid... I'd have to take more time off from the main comic, which obviously isn't something I want to do.
But it lives on in my heart. And now also on this post.

Entirely random character details of the day:
Hope paints in Blocks. This is not how other people in Hyrule or Calatia paint.
Sky throws Remlits off of Skyloft on purpose. It's a game for the Remlits, don't worry. They come right back to him and meow for more.
Hero pretends to hate kitchen duty so that when older pages try to haze them with undesirable chores, they get to hang out with the kitchen staff and get bonus food and learn how to cook. It's a very effective scheme.
Bean has bought every single magic bean. Navi is not impressed by his dedication to waste money. Bean thinks the magic beans are the best thing ever.
Forest plays music for the stal kids, who will march around with him. Sometimes cuccos join in.
Ordon does happy-spins in human form and wolf form. Aror has learned to predict these spins and always tries to jump on him so he can get twirled.
Rinku's default pose for photos and paintings is the v peace✌️ sign. She automatically does it without thinking. Painters hate it.
Wind is a ballerina. He loves it. He incorporates it into his swordwork.
Engineer carries a sketchpad everywhere. There's a copious amount of Zelda Doodles in it. She does not let people flip through the sketchbook themselves.
Wild's pronouns are connected to his clothing. He noticed how people used she/her for her while wearing her Gerudo outfit, and logically expanded this idea. They assign pronouns to new outfits with a great deal of consideration and exploration.
Smith carries 4 times the amount of stuff they actually need when traveling. It's partly habit, partly just because they forget they had something in already and pack it again...

Link OC questionnaire tag game!
If your Link wound up in the dark world, what would their dark world form be?
Boots would be some kind of mule/wolf combo, the same color as the special stitches on his clothes. Stray would be a scruffy cat, either soft orange or pink. Gerudo Link... Maybe a gryphon? But instead of an eagle, he's got crow parts, or some other resourceful bird. The bird parts would purple and the lion parts would be orange.
Pick 1-6 Pokemon you think they'd have!
Boots would absolutely have a Wooloo. Heck, he'd probably have three Wooloo, just like he's got three sheep at home. He'd be happy with a full team of wooloo, honestly, but I could also picture him with a Growlithe, Yamper, or Rockruff. Stray would totally get along with a Nickit, but if not that, or if he had another, I imagine it would be some Pokemon he found abandoned, like maybe a Zigzagoon. It would probably remind him a little too much of himself not to take under his wing, and he'd constantly question his decision while sharing food with it. Gerudo Link... I like to think the Gerudo love the Helioptile line, so I think he'd have a Heliolisk. I also think he'd have a fighting type, but something a little silly to suit his more mischievous side - maybe Monferno? Although I could see him being assigned a third Pokemon for safety or something... Maybe a Blaziken, Gallade, or Lucario?
What is their favorite item and why?
Boots would be... Gosh, he's having a hard time choosing. He was hyped about getting bombs but he admittedly loves the Fire Sword and Lightning Sword - but special attacks with those, which is like, 90% of their fun, uses up energy, which is a bummer. The Cucco's cape has been incredibly handy, but also it's not very exciting. He's hesitant to pick any boots because... The principle of the matter, and so many of them look ridiculous, but- oh, actually, he takes it all back. His harmonica. Fast travel is the greatest thing in the world in his opinion, he was so sick and tired of walking everywhere and when it came to having to backtrack for a bunch of stuff? Phew, he's real glad he had that! I don't know for sure what items the other two will wind up having, but I can for sure see Stray loving a grappling hook if I were to give him one. Thieving off of monsters? Heck yeah. I could see Gerudo Link liking a lightning rod.
What was their initial motivation for starting their adventure?
For Boots, it was saving his family (and hometown in general!). It was caged by a dangerous barrier and negatively affecting everyone trapped inside, so he initially just set out to free them before deciding to continue on to stop Veskaris completely. For Stray, it was literally just to get Zelda out of his head. He did not want this girl stuck in his brain hearing some of his thoughts and sometimes controlling his body, terrible awful get her out of there!!! Tbf he was already actually helping out a bit before that by slaying monsters but that was primarily to make money as people hired him to do so. For Gerudo Link, it was to protect his people from the terrible and corrupt king of Midrule, Ganondorf!
Do they have/get an instrument, and if so, what does it do?
Boots gets a harmonica at some point, which is used to warp to certain locations. I haven't decided for the other two at all yet, but I'm tempted to give Stray a kalimba? Idk what it would do, I dunno if I'll give him one, but I do like Link's having instruments. I'd like to give Geruo Link something too... A small drum or - ooh, an alghoza would be cool.
Least favorite enemy? Not counting Ganon(dorf) or the main bad guy(s) of the story!
For Boots? Gibdo. At least for now... I've only written a handful, so I have a feeling that could change once he has to deal with enemies that make him drop his weapon and shield uwu but the Gibdo geniunely terrify him, so who knows. I'm not entirely sure what enemies Stray and Gerudo Link will face, but from the little I've got cooking for Stray's story, I'm not sure any usual Zelda enemy would be worse than Puppeted People. Gerudo Link would probably mostly hate the ones that are like, a pain to defeat or are inconvenient/can't be defeated but just must be avoided. Whatever he can't just muscle his way past. So like, Armos and Beamos, Bubbles that make it so you can't fight, etc.
How well did your Link know his Zelda before his adventure began, if at all, how did they meet, and what is their relationship by the end and/or post adventure?
Boots was childhood... Uh, well, I wouldn't say friends with his Zelda, but they spend time together occasionally as kids for a good handful of years when his grandpa brought him to the castle. They didn't really like each other. He gets to see her again at the end of his adventure, they trauma bond, and then wind up with a weird sorta sibling coded relationship afterwards where they annoy each other but also Have a Special Understanding no one else does thanks to what they went through. You can actually read their first meeting (+ a mini comic) here! Stray first meets his Zelda when she uhh, appears in his brain as a voice. Stuck there. LOL. He doesn't believe she's the princess at first because? That's crazy. Why would the princess be stuck in his brain. They don't get along at all at first but eventually he reaches a point where he doesn't know what to do without her and is terrified, feeling lost, when he temporarily loses her - as in she's no longer in his head or in the area at all. I ship them, your honor. Gerudo Link first meets Zelda under the guise of a marriage arrangement meeting and is Suspicious Of Her. Can't tell if she's innocent of Ganondorf's plans or playing innocent to try and trick him. Eventually he comes to realize she's genuine and, if all goes well and my kids don't stray from the plans I've got for them, they will be in love eventually <3 of course my OCs don't always listen owo;;; things don't always go as planned.. so we'll see.
No pressure tags for @skyward-floored @palmolli @interlink-au hope none of u mind the tags
But also, open tags - if you have a Link OC, feel free to join! Non-Linked Universe Links meet AUs count too!

Good morning! Is it okay to request lu time headcanon with a dragon halfling child?
-🐉 anon
Of course! I don’t know much about this stuff, so I’m sorry if my representation is a bit off. Hope you enjoy anyway! 😊
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Time with a dragon halfling child:
At first, He wasn't sure what to do with you. The chain had found you in a cave, curled in the corner and afraid as they stayed there during a bad thunderstorm. This was how Time found out you were afraid of storms.
You were a little one, this he knew, as you looked no older than maybe twelve; but the unusual thing to him, was that you seemed to be... part dragon, as well as Hylian? You had the signature Hylian pointed ears, however, you also had horns, wings that were distinctly of a dragon, and a dragon's tail.
When he noticed this, he... wasn't sure if asking where your parents were was the best idea. One of your parents had to be a dragon... Time didn't even know this was possible. He refrained from allowing himself to think too deeply about it.
But he couldn't just leave you there... you were so little. He knew you could take care of yourself, for sure; of this he had no doubts. But still...
He decides he'll just bring you along with them, reasoning that maybe traveling with them will help you find your mother. Yes, that's it.
So that he does. He brings you along with them as they travel. He's quick to ask if you know how to use a weapon, but when a random cucco flies after the Sailor (after he aggravated it, of course), Time quickly learns you can breathe fire, like an actual dragon.
He grins upon seeing you roast the cucco; those things are evil anyways. You'll make a fine addition to the team.
He has inner qualms about making a child fight, but you don't seem to mind it. He's watched you breathe fire into a moblin's face, and save the boys countless times from being in the way with your swiftness in flying. He finds it amusing most days, but there are times where you do things quite dangerously and it leads to a lecture.
When the boys set up camp for the night, Time realizes you don't have your own bedroll. Would you even use one? He has a lot of questions.
But the first night you sleep with the chain, there's another thunderstorm. The boys wake up soaked, and he wakes to you quietly shaking him in a small panic. That's right, he forgot you hated thunder....
You seem to know of another cave nearby and Time lets you lead the way so the boys don't all get sick. It's not far at all, and they take shelter there. He has the second watch, letting poor soaked Wars rest from his.
So when you come up and sit next to Time during the thunderstorm, he doesn't try to stop you. "Can't sleep little one...?" He asks softly, so as to not wake the boys. He sees you nod as you scoot a bit closer.
Careful not to squish your wing, he wraps an arm around you, pulling you a little closer to him. His hand makes its way to your hair, stroking it softly as he hums a little tune to you. You're not familiar with it, but... he has a nice voice. This is nice. He's nice...
After a while, he lifts you, pulling you effortlessly into his lap to make himself a little more comfortable. Somehow, you drift off to sleep. He smiles down at you, ruffling your hair softly so as to not wake you. You stay asleep 'til the morning; Twilight, who's up first, catches a glimpse of the sight of you in the old man's lap and smiles softly.
The Old Man smiles back at the Rancher, putting a finger to his lips as a gesture to keep quiet. The Rancher nods, smiling as he goes about his business.
From then on, spending the night with him is your normal thing, especially during storms. He bought you your own bedroll, but you never use it. You prefer staying with him in his. And you're small enough that you both fit comfortably, so why not?
Whenever the chain makes it to a town, he notices people are... not very kind to you. And you always seem a little apprehensive in town anyway... He's sure that if the heroes weren't all escorting you around, the townspeople would do much worse than gossip about you.
For that reason, he doesn't leave you alone. If there's a matter he needs to attend to, he's leaving you with one of the older boys (probably Twilight). He'd never want you to get hurt; he knows how cruel people can be.
Either way, he'll make it to an inn as quickly as he can. So one day, when a random innkeeper gives him trouble over you, claiming you're an animal that can't stay (how rude!), he sighs, getting ready to leave when he watches you. You're not leaving with the rest of the chain; instead, you're staring down the innkeeper.
"Y/n? Come, dear, we'll go somewhere else. It's his loss of money..." he says, but you still don't move.
He watches as you bring a hand to your face, about a foot in front of your mouth, breathing fire into it for a solid couple seconds. And in front of the whole group, you float upwards, landing a small spat of fire right into the innkeeper's hair. He panics, quickly putting it out.
None of the boys dare to laugh, but goddesses, how they want to.
"Okay, okay, fine! T-Take all the rooms you need! It's free, just stay the night and get out in the morning, please..." the innkeeper sighs.
The whole ordeal earns you a scolding from Time later, but at least you got free rooms, right?

Tumblr media
You were born on a farm.
You raised cuccos. A small job, but important. You made your living selling eggs and cucco meat. Nothing glamorous. But you were happy. In your free time, you imagined fighting monsters and going off to great far off places.
Monsters attacked your village. You weren't helpless. Those games served as training. You were pretty good. You did so well that most the monsters were dead by the time the guards came. Not a single wound, not a single death. The guards were impressed.
It happens several times, monsters usually attacked fringe settlements. But you were the stalwart protector. You helped people without hesitation, fought with courage. Even the king has heard of your skill. He asks you come have an audience. Of course you don't say no. He was born as the ruler of Hyrule.
You were born on a farm.
And so you come. You are younger than he had assumed. He asks you who your parents are, but you say they are gone. The wolves got them. He explains that he wants to see your skill himself, a fight against guards of his own. You beat them a little too easily. Then he asks you to fight for him.
He assigns you as the guard of his daughter, Princess Zelda. The offer is exciting and terrifying. He impresses that he isn't doing this just because you are strong. it was because you had courage many lacked and a desire to help people without reward. He trusts someone like you with his daughter's life. How could you say no?
The guards don't like you. A young cucco girl guarding the princess? Does she think they are better than them? The princess doesn't have a high opinion of her either. She has other worries though so a single guard probably doesn't matter in all her worries. It's okay. You made a promise to protect her. You will do it. You aren't here for politics. You don't think of complicated stuff. You weren't born for that.
You were born on a farm.
The princess has been frustrated. Her father demands she focus on her duties and not the Sheikah technology she professes will help Hyrule. The princess is told she must follow destiny. She feels like she doesn't measure up. And she takes it out on you. She is sure you look down on her for all this. It's not true, but how could you explain it all? All you can do is follow and protect her no matter what.
It gets worse. Something happens. You'd think drawing the Hero's sword would be a cause of celebration, but the princess takes it hard. Here she is trying so hard to gain sacred power and you stumble across your own destiny. How dare you make her feel so worthless? You let her rage. You understand from your time with her how frustrating it was for her. You know she deserves more and wish you could help her.
Things started to change after you saved her from an assassination. She is softer with her words, fusses over your injuries. You even helped her have a little fun catching frogs. She is surprised you take part with your past of refusing to leave as she asked. But this is old hat to you really.
You were born on a farm.
You were asked a question. What if you realized you didn't want to fight. That you wanted something else. But you were told that you were obligated to use what you had to fight. What would you do? The words hit harder than you know. What if she wasn't meant to be a warrior? What if you were pulled from what you were best at? Unfortunately, doubt is long since passed. You are the protector of the princess. You made a choice.
The calamity comes before the princess is ready, but she faces it still. You are at her side. It's terrifying, but you must protect her. It's painful to see the other champions fall. But it's all you can do to protect the princess. You run with her, trying to find safety as you hear them coming.
You fought bravely. The only thing keeping you upright is your desire to protect her. She is scared for you, but she matters more. You won't fall until she is safe. The last thing you remember before falling back though is a bright light coming from the princess. She has done it. You are happy for her. Everything is going black. Dying in this end of days, how could you know you'd die here? After all...
You were born on a farm.
You wake up, but something is strange. How did you get in this cave? Where are you? Who are you? You have no memories. But as you leave the cave, you hear a voice. A voice that grips you by the heart. You don't know the name of this voice, but you have to save her. She is important to you, you can feel it. You will save her. You promise it.
Where are you from?

Why yes I did! Here is a link to basically me asking this exact same question, though in hindsight a lot of my confusion stemmed from the fact that the version I was playing had been remastered to be bigger, greener, and include stuff like wading through rivers and lakes, so take it with a large grain of salt. I was new to this. I'll share what I've learned since.
First, depicting LoZ and AoL's era this way is not a new thing. Probably the best portrayal I have ever read comes from this fic written in 2013, which does a fantastic job of capturing the atmosphere of the game. The wasteland image been made popular by shared fanon, of course, but it does have some basis in game canon. Below is original official art for AoL. Notice the dead tree and the red skies.
Tumblr media
Link's first adventure is somewhat lonely. The entirety of LoZ occurs in the southwest of Hyrule. At that point in time, there are no settlements in that area. The only hylians you meet live in hidden caves and hollow trees. They offer Link a sword, sell items for rupees, give cryptic advice, and scold him for breaking down their doors. He also encounters moblin(s) who offer him free rupees. While there aren't any towns, there is a very large graveyard. Some areas have green forests, but in others, the trees are brown. There are fairy fountains. One fountain has no fairies and instead is patrolled by monsters; this one is the entrance to a dungeon. Link can't go in the water.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Six years later, Link sets out on his second adventure. AoL covers a significantly larger area, which includes seven well-populated towns. Again, some of the people are friendly and helpful, and some are kind of rude. A couple of the towns have been infiltrated by monsters that lie in wait for Link. Link is an outsider; to cross the bridge to go south, he must have one of the town folk vouch for him. One of the towns was entirely destroyed and rebuilt in a well-hidden location. The ruins are haunted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is worth noting what has changed between the two games. The merchants, old men and women, and moblin(s) have disappeared from the area south of Death Mountain. It is still possible to find fairies, but anything resembling a fairy fountain is gone. Link no longer has rupees or people willing to sell to him. The monsters used to roam the overworld somewhat aimlessly, only attacking Link when they spotted him, but now they actively seek him out, and every time he leaves the safety of the road, they close in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Speaking of roads, both games have a distinct lack of travelers. Link meets one townsperson in a cabin in the woods, and he rescues a child who was kidnapped by monsters, but he never encounters a hylian on the road. He also never runs into any ordinary animals, domestic or otherwise. There are no horses, cows, cuccos, dogs, cats, monkeys, pigs, fish, frogs, or rabbits. What creatures there are tend to be hostile and unnatural. Perhaps more concerning, none of the other peoples of Hyrule are seen. There are no deku scrubs, gerudo, gorons, kokiri, minish, or rito. There are river zora, but they appear as mindless enemies—first attacking Link from the water, and later only on land. Something must have driven them from the rivers. Perhaps whatever keeps Link from swimming corrupted them.
Tumblr media
This Hyrule has a lot of graveyards. Most games in the series have at least one or two, but AoL has three massive graveyards, plus the smaller ones found in the towns. It gives the world a very haunting feeling. What happened here? With no animals and no sign of farmland, famine seems likely. It also could have been monsters or illness, or most likely a combination of all three. This era does follow the Era of Decline, so there are a lot of possibilities. Some of my absolute favorite AoL art captures the atmosphere of the graveyards. Also, the grey graveyard from LoZ in the fourth image below is that tiny square graveyard in the third image, which gives you a sense of the scale of the first one, which is huge.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The land is varied and beautiful in its own way, but it is definitely dangerous. The deserts do have cacti, as you noted above, but the manual notes, "There are also places where the winds are strong and small stones fly around," which I've interpreted to mean they are prone to dust storms. It usually takes less than a second for monsters to appear when I step off the road, and they move a lot faster than Link. Traveling in the wilderness is a trial. The farther you go from the North Castle, the higher the stakes are for messing up and the farther you tend to be from a town. And the stakes are very high.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some headcanons to fill the gaps:
Between LoZ and AoL, the monsters rallied from Ganon's defeat and started seeking out the Hero so they could resurrect their master. The area south of Death Mountain became too dangerous for anyone to live in, and those hylians either moved to the towns or were killed. The secret moblin's treachery may have been discovered. Monsters may have overhunted the animals, or they might have all been corrupted by Ganon's power. It is not a far stretch to say the townspeople are under a lot of stress, and when things start getting worse again, it's easy to find someone to blame. Link defeated Ganon, but it didn't fix everything. With monsters hunting him, and even impersonating townspeople to get at him, I think it would be only natural for the people to become wary of his presence, and perhaps even openly hostile.
The manuals makes Hyrule sound like a beautiful place, but I sort of read that as reminiscing on when it was. The AoL manual also talks of the "power that the vile heart of Ganon had left behind." The corrupting effect of dark power, and the impact of monsters on the land, are well-established through the series. Demise and his minions "burnt forests to ash, choked the land's sweet springs, and murdered without hesitation." OoT's Ganondorf turned Castle Town into a ghost town inhabited by redead. Zant used Ganon's power to turn people into monstrous beasts and shroud the land in darkness. Malice and gloom harm people and are avoided by animals, and they cover the land like tar and fill the air with miasma. Malice can possess divine creatures and technology. Monsters in BotW hunt animals and leave heaps of refuse wherever they camp. All this to say, I don't think the little kingdom of Hyrule is in as good of shape as the bright colors would suggest.
Tumblr media
I think canon nudged us in this direction, intentionally or not, and we ran with it. Writing it as a post-apocalyptic world is fun, after all.
Most LoZ AUs with this Link take place after AoL, so it is up to you how Hyrule is doing by then. Perhaps the monsters are finally gone, trade is in full swing, and the land is flourishing. Or maybe not. I write for LU, and for me, the land had been recovering, but the Shadow has been empowering monsters and making them bolder, so things have started to look uncertain again, and the people have noticed. There are plenty of directions to go with it. If you'd like to write this Hyrule as green and beautiful and full of life, go for it! I hope this helped explain a little of where the popular depictions came from, but you certainly aren't bound to follow them.
Genuine question for people who write fanfiction taking place in the time period of NES The Legend of Zelda or Zelda 2: Adventure of Link (the era of LU Hyrule):
Why is this version of Hyrule in fanfiction so often portrayed as a wasteland? Where did people get the idea that the water is poisoned and wildlife is barely surviving? Is there something I'm missing? Please let me know. (Non-fanfiction writers can answer, too.)
The color palette in those games might be a little odd, but I always thought the land looked beautiful. Lots of green forests and blue bodies of water. Is there somewhere that says the water is poisoned?
I was rereading the manual for LoZ and found this:
Tumblr media
They called it "a beautiful and natural world." The paragraph also talks about good-natured people, which brings me to the question about how fanfic writers also seem to portray towns in this world to be hostile, when from what I've seen of gameplay, they are sources of healing and respite, with people just going about their daily lives. I have a feeling the hostile people are written that way because of the "monsters out for his literal blood" thing. But they seem no more or less friendly than NPCs in other eras. A little curt, due to the character limit and weird translation, but helpful.
Here are some more pictures:

Even the desert has greenery. It's a desert, but not a wasteland.
I always feel weird asking this, as if I'm a desperate YouTuber or something, but I'd appreciate reblogs so I can get a larger variety of responses. My blog is pretty small. ❤️

This just in: Sweetpea has absolute Ken Vibes. The Smartest Dumbass everyone knows. He's not 100% sure what's going on but he's just happy to be here. Except when people are trying to court his sister-in-law and his princess. That cuts into his Sidon and Yona time for two WILDLY different reasons.
While Sage is trying to murder his new counterparts and Sweetpea runs interference, I think Tia would be the one who's actually making sure Aaliyah's ok with her new admirers.
I see Wild and Cal being generally harmless smitten guys who are just trying to get a pretty lady's attention so they're not actively trying to separate Aaliyah from Sage, just trying to get her to look their way. Compliments, small gifts, showing off. Stuff like that.
But Tia knows that Aaliyah isn't a people person and even if these guys are essentially younger versions of Sage, that doesn't mean she's entirely cool with it. So Tia is touching base with Aaliyah and inviting her to tea, just to make sure everything's cool and that Tia doesn't have to step in. She knows Aaliyah can look after herself and she'll respect that, but there tends to be less blood and gore involved if Tia intervenes before it hits that point.
(Also Tia's nickname for Aaliyah is Petal. Because her hair is a lovely soft white like white rose petals. It's also at complete odds with her personality but Tia thinks it's funny. Sage's is Dumpling but only in private because they made dumplings together and Tia just came out with it. Sage didn't realise what she'd called him until it was too late and she'd latched onto it. Ariel's is Chook because of all the Cuccos she has.)
Aaliyah honestly could not give less of a shit about her two new ducklings, not when she needs to be grilling Tia about HER potential suitors. None of whom are good enough for her, despite the fact two of them fought a god and the third one killed two different kings. Let her bite them. She promises she won't leave scars. Even on the stuffy knight with the red scarf. What Tia sees in him, she has no idea.
Tia just sips her tea and hopes that she can get in at least a little conversation before Aaliyah makes good on her promise.
Sweetpea has since decided to impersonate a cat every time Tia has tea or even sits down in the vicinity of her suitors and drapes himself across her lap. Tia just lets him and pats his head while using his back as a table, occasionally pinching his ear when she notices him smirking at Warriors.
Tia and Twilight are absolutely bonding over herding Feral Hylians before he starts flustering her and Sage just like body checks him straight into the moat.
Buut also Cal being sneaky and like cautiously approaches Tia for advice. Because while she looks similar to Fauna, she acts very differently and maybe she can give him and Wild some actual information instead of dangling it like Sweetpea does. (Unfortunately, Tia's advice is basically 'Respect her Decision, Respect her Space and Respect the Fact Sage Will come First.' so if they want to woo the pretty feral sheikah, they're gonna need to at least get Sage to tolerate them first. (Good luck on that) Wild does find out Tia's favourite flower is Sundelions and passes that on to Tia's suitors which just causes absolute chaos.)
Sweetpea being ken has gotta be one of the funniest things we've come up with yet. Like they're all >:( and he's all :D, happy to be there. Maybe the girls are talking about some intricate and intense dealings with other realms and the merging of their own and he's nodding, blank faced because he has no clue what's going on. Sage at least admits he doesn't know, nor does he care, but Sweetpea pretends he both knows and cares.
He is smart enough to have red alarms going off though. Like that one tiktok audio when something goes down? He could be in between Yona and Sidon, having a peaceful snooze before snapping up like "Something just happened."
Sweetpea and Sage are such an interesting duo, especially when compared to the other two. Like, they are such good foils for each other that they work together well. Wild and Cal haven't spent nearly enough time to reach that same level those two have and it shows.
Just like Aaliyah and Tia are good foils to Flora and Fauna.
Tia being the lovable sister to Aaliyah just warms my heart <3 bc like i love them. They're dynamic is also something I wanna explore more bc it's the whole Golden Retriever and Black cat thing. Like Tia is all smiley and bright and kind, nothing but gentle touches and sweet words while Aaliyah is more the silent comfort; She's the person on the back wall, making sure she all has the information and brooding, letting you cry on her shoulder and never mentioning it ever again.
Like Batman and Superman now that I think about it.
Wild and Cal depend on which way we go here. If we go with the normal, not crazy chain then yea, they're just like love striken puppies. It's mostly infatuation that this is what they could've had and they just want to feel what it's like to have her attention on them for just a little while. Just to know what it's like for Sage the lucky bastard. But, if we go with the Yandere chain I write about on this blog it could be a completely different scenario. Because Aaliyah has scars. There's no shocker there. But to Wild and Cal? This is just confirmation to them that Sage can't protect her. Not in the way they can. So he obviously doesn't deserve her. They're train of thought is that he's manipulated her into staying with him and that just won't stand. So maybe they are trying to seperate them. But what they fail to realize is that as deep as Sage's claws are in the Sheikah, she has her own keeping him tethered to her just as tightly. So it won't be as easy as they're delusional minds think.
That won't stop them from trying however.
Tia being protective just warms my heart <333 Bc your right. Aaliyah isn't a people person, even with younger versions of Sage. That growth is what solidified that bridge between them as strong as it was. Tea time between the girls is SACRED. No one can get in between that. Especially if it means saving a bit of bloodshed and unstringing all the stress Aaliyah carries. She's an anxious person and when she's stressed, she snaps. So it's good that Tia can recognize that and help de-escalate.
(Petal is so cute I can't like nfogfb Like I imagine Tia and Sage, maybe Sweetpea, are the only ones allowed to touch Aaliyah's hair. Like...at all. Hair cuts are just winging it. And the contradiction to her personality is also so funny. Sage's being dumpling also kills me because he probably has to take a second to register his new nickname. But that second is what seals his fate and it's just law now. Sage and Tia cooking together is just FJFNFNF WARMS MY HEART BC LIKE THATS HIS SIL ( i imagine Sweetpea and Tia have a brother/sister relationship?) AND WE'VE SEEN THE OTHER HALF AND I JUST need this half okay? I'm so normal about this and-)
(Ariel is more dangerous than any of them bc of her Cuccos I don't make the rules)
Aaliyah is scary dog privileges personified. Just silently glowering in the back as if daring any of the Links to fuck around and find out. Especially that pompous fuck with the red scarf. Sure, Cal and Wild are trying to talk to her about her journeys and she's just >:( At First the WHOLE time. Talking about how many Lynels she's taken down or how often she eradicates monster camps. Tia is over her shit. When Aaliyah pulls out the puppy dog eyes, ears down and a small whine leaving her lips, Tia is just 'Are you seriously asking me to let you bite someone?' and Aaliyah is just 'Not really, I'm more-or-less asking for forgiveness when I inevitably do it."
Sweetpea being the clingiest out of all of them is just fnofnf because he's practically showing off his place. Like Sweetpea is looking at them like 'I have a garaunteed place in Tia's wedding. Do you?'
Wars is counting on Sweetpea's downfall. He's just >:( In his chair, arms crossed and a pout on his lips.
Twilight is in the clear for a while, talking about how he's reigned in Wild's own behaviour only to be faced with the worst of them all. Like, yes, Aaliyah will bite and snap and blow up a forest, she's still somewhat civil with the rest of them. While yes, Sweetpea is rubbing his place in Tia's life in War's face, he isn't biting them which is good. But Sage? Nah. Sage is the worst of the worst. He's attacking whenever he feels like it. And it could in the middle of the night? Maybe while they're walking? Twilight will never know.
Like, they're walking on a bridge and next thing he knows he's engulfed in orange and Sage is smirking at him before dropping him into the river below.
Cal is probably the smarter of the two by going to Tia. She's more likely to give them solid advice than Fungus over there. Is it very helpful? ...Not really BUT That just means they have an excuse to watch her every move. It's for science of course!
Wild probably plays up the friendly face if only to get information on Tia to give to the ones who want her own attention. In turn they give him anything they can get out of Aaliyah. Or maybe even Sage. Anything really.
(Lmao its a race for them to get sundelions but every time they spot one and they try to climb to get it, one of her guard dogs is already standing there with it plucked, in their hand and a smirk on their face. "Better luck next time~")

1|3 Immersion spoilers: Why the cucco does it feel like Link has been living under a rock for the past 6-8? years? I thought maybe it's just a few characters, mainly the new ones, but every NPC from Botw who I did quests for or helped doesn't remember Link, but everyone and their grandma talks about how great Zelda is. The only people who know about Link are major NPC's from the last game. Even with the major NPC's it feels like they've not spoken to Link in ages, because so much stuff changed,
But Link seems to know nothing about it at all, they also treat him like he has no clue about it. In the meta it makes sense for the player, but for Link it doesn't. It's been more than half a decade, and people still don't acknowledge Link as the "Chosen Hero", but everyone talks about Princess Zelda and what she looks like. Kinda implies to me that Link's just been doing his own thing, but even then, where was he? The game kinda fails at actually giving us info on Link at all. I'd loved to hear some NPC's referencing the adventures Link has been having on his own in that timeframe. It just feels jarring that nowhere I went even a single regular NPC knew who I was at. Sir/Madam? I literally helped you solve your problems, how could you forget me, the 5 foot nothing golden haired twink with sky-blue eyes? It gives the vibe that Link's not been in Hyrule, and only came back to help Zelda check out Hyrule's basement. Only one's to remember are the Yiga, which is kinda telling.
It's funny how, during the BotW days, a lot of people had the headcanon/wrote fics with the premise of Link fucking off to be a hermit after he defeated Calamity Ganon. Sometimes other people responded to those fics/headcanons with 'oh, but what about all of the people Link helped; wouldn't they miss him?'
Apparently FUCKING not.

Favorite things about TotK so far
The Yiga Clan continuing to be Team Rocket style villains. They've turned it up to 11 now and are impersonating talking cuccos and pretending to have a 'regal friend who definitely needs blonde men to go ridiculously out of their way to help her'. They are trying so hard to catch Link like a Pikachu and are entirely incompetent at it.
Link being the in-universe version of Tony Hawk. People who know him recognize him but everyone else is just like 'hey, you're named Link and kinda match the description of a famous swordsman by that name, isn't that a funny coincidence?' and Link seems to be going 'yeah, weird, happens all the time'. Which he probably appreciates since he doesn't seem the type to enjoy fame.
My horsies from Breath of the Wild are available for me to check out of the stables like an inter-library lone.
Building stuff with both the fuse and the ultrahand abilities. I can make ridiculous weapons and bizarre contraptions. But I really need a bigger battery capacity for some of my vehicle plans. (I'll get there)
The reintroduction of the Sages. I've only scratched the surface of that, but it does seem that the Sages are back in some capacity and possibly calling out to their successors.
The Fire Temple. It's in the depths, the creepy new underground opened up for the exploration, and it's got several levels to cover. It's a mine cart maze and I'm enjoying figuring it. I've got 3 of 5 gongs rung and need to make more depths specific recovery items before I head back down to finish it up. It's still not as complicated as pre-BotW dungeons, but it does capture the feel of a Zelda dungeon better than the BotW's fire dungeon so I'm pretty pleased.
Speaking of the depths, they are creepy in a fun and fascinating way. I've already found the Fire Temple and the remains of the old Eldin mines (and a bunch of statues). What else is hiding in the dark? Cannot wait to find out
Those guys hanging out at the goron region's stable who most likely misheard Zelda say 'independence' as 'in underpants' and are now running around in their underwear. They're hilarious.
The caretaker robots who have developed fun personalities in the thousands of years they've been active and alone. Some are helpful, others snooty, some sarcastic...
Purah continuing to be a complete nerd. My aro headcanons for her abound. She's cannibalized the Shiekah tech into her Purah towers, Purah Pads, and various other tech. While, yeah, it bugs me that we're not seeing the remains of the old shrines and towers from BotW, it makes sense that the only remaining tech that's important is what Purah (and Robbie) have reinvented so that's all we see of it. And the towers Purah made are clearly made up of relocated towers from BotW, so there is that. (and having the old shrines hanging around with all the new shrines might've gotten confusing, I suppose...)
The new item system that allows for attaching things to arrows or throwing them in place of weapons. Was it easier to just pick an arrow type in BotW? Well... yes. But it's so much more fun to attach stuff to arrows and shoot them.
My new journalist Rito friend who watches Link fight the Yiga and knows Link is searching for Zelda, but still lands firmly in the 'could not identify Tony Hawk on site' crowd.
The Great Fairies + Malanya have moved locations and are now demanding things other than money to open up their giant flower buds and help. The world has gotten scarier, money alone ain't gonna cut it compared to food and music.
